Every time I see this scene my heart breaks. But I also feel sorry for poor Raoul.

Imagine, you face death threats, you dodge fireballs, you rush to save your fiancée from a mad murderer who kidnapped her, you go to the underground lair beneath the Opera, risk drowning, end up being caught by a magical lasso and hanged on the verge of death…

…only to watch your fiancée make out with her kidnapper. Right in front of you.

Even the stage directions say, verbatim:

Now calmly facing him, she kisses him long and full on the lips.

The embrace lasts a long time. RAOUL watches in horror and wonder.

It must have been the most awkward conversation between him and Christine afterwards.

Or perhaps they never speak of it again.

They probably don’t mention it ever again.

Until a random guy at the Opera auction gives Raoul a hell of a flashback, decades later 😂

After a very long time I've finally blowing off the dust and doing art dragons again. This unicorn is on the AH for 1000g!

I love when, in the final lair, a Christine definitely sees Erik sneaking up behind Raoul, lasso in hand, and she just nopes out. Makes no motion to help Raoul or stop Erik, she's just, runs away.

I know it's just a blocking thing: Christine's usually looking away or not paying attention, but here she definitely saw Erik and the implications of that are hilarious to me. Even the way she runs upstage almost makes it look like she's getting him in line with a mark.

Raoul: Christine! CHRISTINE, DID YOU LET HIM LASSO ME?!

Christine: No! (...>.>)

WWDITS Finale thoughts from a Nandermo shipper:

Ngl I thought the writing was fire. I know we all wanted a kiss but I’d argue we got something way better, here me out

Going from this decade long power imbalance to a relationship built on mutual trust and respect (with the last thing Nandor doing in the series is prove to Guillermo that he is seriously committing to a 50/50 work load) is a really good story arc and I think the logical next step WOULD have been romance

I thought the writers were sending “HEY we love the idea of them getting together but we don’t have enough time to show that in a way that feels satisfying (they’d probs need another season of them crime fighting and building on that trust cause they got some baggage but that’s a fanfic for another day)

And that’s okay!

If we learned anything from this show it’s that, despite patterns, the vampires genuinely do grow. I feel like the implication was “they’ll get there, we just won’t be around to see it”

The only thing I love more than cheeky fan service is realistic well written character arcs and this finale gave us BOTH (idk what the other endings were but I got the sitcom one)

Listen I’m not saying I wouldn’t have loved a big romantic kiss and a “what does this mean for us” stumble into romance from the finale. I would have LOVED a final gentle hand holding shot but I also think the Guides monologue was almost a direct message to the fans “hey guys listen Nandors gotta a lot more work to do on the romance side of his mindset and we don’t have the episodes to get there so”

I mean they basically said “no matter what, they’ll head back to each other” and if that’s not canon idk what is

In honor of what may be their last show together, here's some Gantom/Chumisa content for the people.

Headcanon that Leo really loved to give his family massages growing up. We know that he’s good at them from the episode “You Got Served” and we know he likes spas and relaxation and getting massages himself from when he tried to get these in “Bad Hair Day” and from when Donnie made a tennis ball massage machine in “Smart Lair.”

So I think it’d be cute to think that maybe one day Leo overheard Splinter complaining about a bad back and immediately Leo thinks back to a comic or movie or something he saw where a massage helped so he offers to give one and it actually ends up helping Splinter.

Then April swings by the Lair at a later time and mentions her back hurting because of her backpack from school and Leo’s all like “I gotcha!”

From there, he occasionally manages to convince Donnie to sit for one because Donnie’s shrimp posture does not help him any (Leo pokes fun at how sandpaper-y Donnie’s shell is despite knowing it’s always like that and Donnie smacks him for it.) Donnie usually prefers hand massages instead however as all his typing and inventing adds up over time, and shoulder massages too once he starts wearing his battle shells more. Leo also figures out how to give massages to Raph and Mikey’s shells as well, though it’s a struggle at first to not scratch his hands on Raph’s spikes.

I think since Leo has such bad luck with spas and the like, he tries giving himself massages (though it’s not as helpful.) Like, with how his abilities work his legs are probably always aching from his portal jumping and one foot landings, so maybe he branches past back massages out of a need to help his own aches too. (Though he really wants a shell massage himself, the same way he’d give them…the one time with Donnie’s tennis ball massage machine was but a short moment of what Leo’s been missing out on and what he’ll continue missing out on…)

I don’t know, I just think it’d be cute to think Leo could have honed his massaging skill this way in order to help out his family (and also partially because he wants a massage himself.)

Danny has no clue what he’s just agreed to but Ellie seems happy about it, so it can’t be too bad. Ellie is honestly surprised but more than a little touched her template-dad gave her permission to let her new clone-union-totally-not-a-revolution use his lair as a home base. Now she just needs to help Klarion figure out how to make those portal-bracelets for each of them…
