A little something for the holiday-Fluff

The kitchen is warm, the faint aroma of roasted turkey and freshly baked bread wafting in the air. You stand at the counter, slicing carrots with careful precision. The knife moves in a steady rhythm, but your thoughts drift—Thanksgiving, of all things. It’s strange to celebrate anything anymore, but you suppose there’s something comforting in the routine of it, in trying to stitch together a sense of normalcy.

Behind you, boots scrape softly against the floor. You know it’s him before he even speaks. Daryl’s presence is like that—quiet, familiar, consuming.

“You’ve been at this all mornin’,” his low, gravelly voice murmurs. There’s no bite to it, just an observation laced with concern.

You glance over your shoulder. “Somebody’s gotta keep you fed, Dixon.”

He grunts, stepping closer. The heat of him, the faint scent of leather and pine, wraps around you. His hand brushes yours as he takes the knife from your grasp, setting it down on the counter.

“Daryl, I’m not done—”

“Yeah, ya are,” he interrupts, his tone soft but firm. You turn to protest, but the words catch in your throat when you meet his gaze. There’s something unguarded there, something that pulls at the quiet ache in your chest.

Before you can say anything, his hands settle lightly on your waist. He leans in, pressing his lips to your temple. The kiss is slow with the kind of sweetness that feels like home.

“Been meanin’ to say thanks,” he mutters against your skin.

“For what?” you ask, your voice barely above a whisper.

He pulls back just enough to look at you, one hand brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. His thumb lingers at your cheekbone, the calloused pad a stark contrast to the gentleness of the gesture.

“Everything,” he says simply. “Keepin’ me goin’, keepin’ this—” He glances around the kitchen, at the cluttered counter and the barely-contained chaos of your makeshift Thanksgiving dinner. “Feels good… what you’re doin’. Like it matters again.”

Your chest tightens at his words, but before you can respond, he leans in again, his lips brushing yours this time. It’s soft and lingering, and you feel the tension in his shoulders ease as you rest your hands against his chest.

When he pulls back, his cheeks are faintly flushed, his eyes darting anywhere but at yours. “I, uh—” He scratches the back of his neck, glancing toward the stove. “Guess I better set the table or somethin’.”

You can’t help but smile, warmth blooming in your chest as you watch him retreat to the dining room, muttering under his breath. He might not say much, but in moments like this, he doesn’t need to.

Like you know the ones I mean, it's 8am on a Tuesday and they're making out infront of your biology lesson. Like maki's there trying to eat her lunch and they're halfway down each others throats. Gojo starts spraying them with water from a spray bottle like cats lmao.

I feel like they're so cringe too with how romantic they are, always talking about some sappy shit. Toge's the type of guy to say 'this ones for u babe' and then miss lmao. Plus they're always bringing private chats in the group chat talking about shit nobody else wants to hear😭 Idk I just feel like him and reader would be the most annoying couple lmao

Sorry for the weird sizing, I kinda unsaved the version I worked on and had to stick with the jpg. version to finish this...

I kinda convinced myself to practice some kafhoshi, I really wanted to do this for a while now.. I'm still not feeling comfortable, but I guess in a way it works out... (also I gave up on the smoochies, trust me I tried and they sucked.. gonna get there..)

Just wanted to put this out of my head, since I'll be off until next Monday and I already miss them very much... (I'm mad enough to treat myself to a rock festival for nothing less than 4 days, lol, but at least imma go fancy camping this time :D I hope I don't freeze to death.)

Anyway...I should be packing up already.. have a great evening/day/morning ♡＼(￣▽￣)／♡

Today I sent my beloved little kitty, my best friend since childhood, on her final journey.

She was at an honorable age of 22 years, now frail and weakening. I had been preparing for this for 3 years and I knew this day would come soon. And I can say I have no regrets, for I gave her everything I could in my capacity to make her life comfortable all the way over her golden years.

I know it was the right decision & the greatest act of love, but... yeah

This is the price of love

Only 5 months ago we had to say goodbye for our 11 yr old funny & clever kitty... it's getting very quiet in this house

I loved her so much, my precious little soft ball of pure affection, my treasure... and she loved me back, always following me with her bright green eyes and asking for pets and kisses. And treats of course!

She was grey and white, with pink nose and pawpads. She had a grey chin that gave her a perpetual smile and which she rubbed me on the nose back and forth when I leaned towards her. She would sit on my bed and we would touch foreheads and stay still for good long minutes. She would ride my shoulders and I could do all the chores with her purring in my ear. She was comfy with pets and rubs anywhere but the paws.

She was a picky eater, but whenever you had something she liked she would come to you, sit politely and gently touch your hand with her white mitten. Except once when eating a subway sandwich, she was so thrilled she grabbed the bread with claws ahah! She never hurt anyone on purpose, only when she was jumpscared while held

She was a fierce feral little furball when I picked her up hiding in our barn with her two siblings. After a month she would play with my hair and play chase with her sister and brother, who both got adopted. It’s wild to think she outlived both of them, and lived without any problems (apart from deafness around 16 years old) until the last three years. What a lucky lady. I was so lucky to have her

She was a fighter. She had hyperthyreosis, survived a dangerous tooth surgery only a year back, and even went blind for a week because of med dosage change but her vision miraculously came back..!! She was literally walking into walls and other cats and yowling heartbreakingly the whole week and even after the emergency checkup where the vets would say the med shock probably broke the eye structure, but on Sunday she was able to follow my hand movement with he eyes and soon fully recovered!!

Each time I had prepared for her departure because the situations seemed so dire and I knew she was old, but I could see it in her eyes she wasn’t ready to go. I underestimated her strength, but I took the risks for the sake of improving her life and they paid off! She would always bounce back despite the odds.

She didn’t want to go now either… but I saw how frail and hurting she was. I could feel her spine, she was light as a feather in my hands, and I saw her tired, pained look on her face. I knew she would last only a month or two or a year at max and I didn’t want to put her through another difficult treatment, so I decided it’s time to let her rest. I gave her kisses and pets all the way to her last breath, and even after.

She had many funny nicknames over the years, usually silly gibberish derived from her actual name, Kalevi. Which funnily is a male name but as kids we didn’t know better and couldn’t imagine her with any other name anymore, it was already perfect.

Everyone who met her liked her for her friendliness, softness and beauty. She enjoyed pets and gave kisses to other people too, but she was always the most attached to me. She chose me out of all the people she met, and that made me feel very special.

I miss her very much, my dear life companion

Now I’m free of worry over her, but… will anyone ever love me as unconditionally as she did, I won’t know

Things have been rough for quite a while, but I'll get back on track, eventually
