We were about to cry again and we were saying to Brenda [Reid]’s mother ‘What are we going to do?’ The Beatles said ‘What do they mean the Exciters can't play? The Exciters are on the tour and it's a package deal. Whoever is on the tour, that's who is going to perform on the show!’ They told us ‘Ladies, don't worry about it, we're going to take care of it.’ The Beatles took a stand and I will honor them for as long as they live on the earth. They did it personally… not their manager or this one or that one. They said ‘If the Exciters are not singing on the show, [then] The Beatles are not singing on the show either.’ They didn't care whether black people never sang there or not. The Exciters - Just Not Ready (1965)

After stumbling on this song, and giving it a listen, I was dumbfounded. Parts of it sound straight out of a Bollywood soundtrack. The vocals are also not your typical R&B that you'd expect from the group who recorded Tell Him.
