Sakumo being a super popular borderline sex symbol in his era will never stop being my favorite hc, I need to see more of it

All the people his age and younger had a crush on him. It was just a Thing(tm) where 9 times out of 10, a Konoha shinobi's first crush was probably Sakumo. Even other villages young shinobi hung up his bingo book picture above their bunk and dreamed of both killing him, being killed by him (in a hot way), having a battlefield fling with him, and more. There was blackmarket fanfiction. He was incredibly popular among civilians all over fire country. Some popular romance novels had love interests very blatantly based off him.

Even before they were on a team together, Obito and Rin both had a silly kid crush on Kakashi's dad (Obito more than Rin) and he was aware of it. This did not help make him like them any more. (By the time hearing smthn positive ab his dad would have made Kakashi softer, they'd both gotten better at hiding the crush, so to Kakashi it looked like they'd gotten over Sakumo.) Even Minato had a bit of a thing for him, not really but like— strong, popular, feard and very friendly ninja who is now paying him some attention (bc hes his kids teacher) he's not immune. Kushina understands, she is also not immune. (Kakashi is going to throw a fucking fit)

Even after his failed mission, when his reputation crashes and burns within the village, he still can't completely shake his admirers— they possibly just get more disrespectful ab the attraction when it mixes with the hate. (Which tbh could make for an interesting discussion all on its own)

Kakashi is haunted by his father's insane popularity for decades after his death. He does his very best to ignore the lingering evidence of people being insane ab his father.

He chooses to ignore it but it's quickly spotted by his teammates, who do not know who Sakumk is, and v quickly begin to remark on the poster, who this mysterious Konoha nin is, and ahaha damn he is kinda good looking, huh? (Kakashi wants to DIE)

Shisui ends up taking the poster back to Konoha with them and hangs it up in the ANBU communal quarters where it is VERY quickly recognized. And also some of the people in that room recognize it so quick bc they also used to own a similar poster. (Kakashi wants to DIE someone PLEASE kill him now)

Its only when he's given team 7 that he finally thinks he's escaped the legacy of his father as Konoha's Most Sexiest Shinobi. Only for Naruto, when being trained by Jiriyah, to find his drafts for Icha Icha very clearly inspired by his dad. Which he can never publish for multiple reasons (lingering respect for Sakumo. Also for Kakashi, who is his biggest fan and would probably never look at him again.)

Naruto somehow accidentally brings this up with Kakashi who like. Has war flashbacks and immediatley stands up and walks away as Jiryah scrambles to try to explain himself and Tsunade looks on in scorn (she will approach him later to carefully ask for the drafts while trying to seem like she's not really asking for them bc she's too proud to admit it)

Naruto and Sakura discover Kakashi-sensei's dad was a sex symbol. I don't even know how they'd react but like. Oh my god. Oh my god you guys.

Uhh endgame Kakashi becomes Hokage and accidentally retreads his father's path in becoming the new Konoha Sexy Man. Which simultaneously crushes him (he will never escape) and fills him with delight (he will now be able to impart the pain of having your father figure be lusted after by all ur friends and acquaintances onto his students)

I had to empty my brain after catching up with 9-1-1 Lone Star season 5. So bear with me, or scroll past it. Thanks. xoxo

9-1-1 LA—It can be incredibly frustrating when a series loses its initial magic and starts to become formulaic or predictable. Character-driven stories often resonate more because they delve deeper into the characters' emotional and psychological aspects, making their journeys more relatable and compelling.

The depth of character development in 9-1-1: Lone Star comes across better and makes the narrative richer and more engaging. It's a shame when another series, presumably from the same creative team, doesn't have the same quality and emotional depth.

On the other hand, 9-1-1 LA has shifted focus, which is disappointing as beloved characters and their stories are sidelined. An overemphasis on a metaplot and less engaging characters like Brad detract from the overall experience. Finding the right point where the action doesn't overshadow the character-driven story but enhances it was not on TMs bingo card so far.

The OS writers should take note of the feedback from GA and fans alike and bring the series back to its roots. The intricate details of the characters and their evolving relationships often leave a lasting impression, even in the chaos of an emergency. Season 8A was a dumpster fire in more ways than one.

What's with the romantic element that was so prominent in all the post-Season 7 interviews about Buck and Tommy's relationship?

Well, that part of Oliver's interview for Gay Times hasn't aged well.

It ended traumatic, or am I wrong? Tommy's traumatized, though it was never addressed why. What happened to him that he pulled the plug (pun intended) on their relationship? And yes, he threw all the biphobic tropes at Buck he could muster.

At this point, I'm mourning the loss of Lone Star and Tarlos. While I would be okay with 9-1-1 OS being canceled. I'm sure I am not the only one feeling betrayed. It's not just Buck back hamster wheeling. We all are.

As the plots become repetitive and foreseeable, there are two possible scenarios for Maddy's kidnapping: 1) she is saved, and the baby is okay. 2) She's saved but loses the baby. Pick a base. Plus, given the preview, the serial looks like a woman (if the hair we see isn't a wig).

If you already know that TM isn't going to off one of his mains, where is the thrill? Instead he is busy axing everyone else whose name isn't Brad. I am still determining what I should look forward to... Maybe I will be enlightened. Anyway, thanks for coming to my pep talk.

On a side note, wouldn't it be great if they would at least release the cute scene in the car Lou mentioned in one of his recent interviews?

Okay so Daniel dealing with a de-aged Arun/Amadeo has so much potential, but Amadeo and Lestat could also be fun.

Amadeo, who in some ways, is more like Lestat than Armand. Amadeo, who worships Marius, whom Lestat so adores. Lestat and the sinking understanding of just what Marius has done to Amadeo, and the slow horror that comes with.

Amadeo isn’t older and more powerful than him like Armand. I don’t think Lestat would have the same compunctions about sleeping with Amadeo that Daniel would have, thus adding Complicated^tm consequences when it’s all put back to normal.

THIS IS RIGHT UP MY ALLY!! 😭😭. Omg lestat would love Amadeo their team up would be so dangerous 💀. Ok, I actually LOVE the idea of Alya being the Professor's assistant. She's the Lucas from DPPT or the Bianca from B2W2. Not your rival, just your bud who does team up battles with you and teaches you shit.

I also love the idea that Nino is the Professor's OTHER assistant, but is only there for 2 reasons:

A) His parents thought it would be a good way to get him out of the house and draw in income, since his current dreams of being a DJ/Radio Show Host/whatever we're translating that to isn't a "Normal Stable Profession TM"

B) His girlfriend's there, and he wants to support her and also keep her from getting herself KILLED because Alya does dangerous things in the name of research

How I feel about this character

Who wouldn't love his utter fanatical devotion to winning school sports games that ultimately don't actually affect that much? They only thing Harry ever got that enthusiastic about was Draco Malfoy. If Harry had been that into Horcrux hunting the main plot of book 7 would've been over by chapter 5 and the rest could've been devoted to the 8th year drarry fic of our dreams. Remember the time Harry almost died in a Quidditch game and Oliver tried to drown himself in the showers...because they lost?

I...don't really. In my head Oliver's true love is Quidditch lol. Although I would be deeply entertained by a fake dating AU in which he seduces Marcus Flint to try to learn about the Slytherin team's strategy for the Quidditch season and then it's left ambiguous in the end whether they've actually caught feelings for each other or have expanded their Qudditch rivalry to new levels... (25 years into their marriage all their friends and acquaintances are still not sure and also are not entirely convinced they aren't actually doing a Bit but are too afraid to ask).

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I just think it would be so funny to know more about the absolute chaos that must have ensued from him sharing a dormitory with Percy. Just imagine Percy insisting on total peace and quiet while he studies vs Wood up at all hours making Quidditch models. I feel like they'd either get along really well by terrifying everyone else into giving them the space to themselves to work on their respective Very Important Projects TM or else they'd constantly be fighting. Or maybe they alternated. Either way. Peak content potential.

wilbur (begin again from red (taylor’s version)): - i think i got a different era for each person SCORE! - wilbur is sOOOO evermore and red coded - but not 22 or ikywt coded but all too well and the lucky one coded - you had recently gotten over a breakup and were ready to start dating again - and a friend of yours hooked you up with this guy from her office - who she said “does not do typical officer work” - you ready for anything, so you thanked her and took her offer - and now the date of your date is here, and you couldn’t help but be nervous - you critiqued and critized every small bit of you, just like your ex did - but now youve grown to love what you wear and what you look like - you blasted your favorite song that he seemed to hate as you walked out the door, as ready for this date as you could ever be - you walked to the cafe that you decided to meet up at, expecting wilbur to be late - imagine the soft surprise that took over you when he stood when he saw you, waving to you as he strode over to meet you halfway - “hi” you said breathlessly, surprised at the common decency he showed you - “hey” he said slyly, making small talk with you as he ushered you over to the table he saved - he pulled your seat out and everything, helping you take your coat off. he doesn’t know how nice that is - while you’re talking you tell some stupid joke, trying to ease your nerves - and when he throws his head back laughing like a little kid? youre done for.  - for the past 8 months you could only think about how love breaks and burns and ends - but on a wednesday, in a cafe. you watched it begin again - you cant help but smile back, agreeing to a second date - you meet up for a second date, this time in a record shop.  - you two talk about your shared love for music - and he’s like “ive never met anyone who as many los camp! records as i do” - and you were like “bet!” - turns out, you two have the same amount - you two walk around the city, exchanging stories about your lives when he suddenly teases you for being shyer than on your first date - you jsut blush and nudge him teasingly while rolling your eyes. and he laughs again.  - your ex never did that. he was never carefree, kind, and careless around you - but wilbur was. and your idea of love just grew and grew and grew - he walks you to his car, and the words about your ex are on the tip of your tongue. youre about to tell him about how different he is than your ex and how grateful you are for him - but then he cuts your thoughts off, launching into a story about him and tommy - and you find yourself wanting to talk about that instead - you can finally say what’s past is in the past - because on a wednesday, in a cafe, you watched it begin again.  i love taylor swift. i could do so many more of these. please tell me if you want

not as brief as intended second round thoughts:

had this discussion with others too but you know the Third Time Curse (not an official thing) with class-based TTRPG characters where the first time you do like, a self-insert, the second you do what you actually dream of, and the third time people often falter by trying to be neither and then they often find their footing with future games? I feel like with RPGs and their more directed and limited scope it's the second, of like, first time you do what feels right and interesting and natural to you, second time you explore other options, and after that you're like "actually, I like this." Like, I'm glad I saw the save Minrathous route, the Neve romance was a highlight, I'm glad I picked the other two options for leading the other team on Tearstone/wards and there are a bunch of things I didn't do my first time around that I'm glad I did (talking Mythal down is very rewarding; I did get every chest in the revisitable locations though I definitely missed a bunch in the quest-only locations; weird-ass circles; playing a mage) but this was definitely a "not my first choice" run at times. Which was the point!

With that said I still made some choices the same as prior (I switched up Taash, Davrin, Neve, and Lucanis's choices though obviously the latter two were due to the city choice) but I'm sorry I struggle to justify lichdom, and I can see a case for destroying the archive but I haven't yet played a character who'd do that. I would like to see Harding embrace compassion I guess as a future run, but. gonna be real. I'm doing my part to counteract the fact that the overwhelming majority of players chose compassion and not acknowledging anger and meeting it where it was. let's all be more confrontational in healthy ways. I have Thoughts about which choices hit best but a lot of those are subjective.

I can still sing the songs from Reader Rabbit second grade because one is a patter song and it made my younger siblings laugh) Taash is right FUCK puzzles. I'm going to make a poll of least favorite puzzle. But also at least in Myst you were not ATTACKED by VENATORI while DOING THE PUZZLE.

If you have been following me and wondering if you can play this if you have zero gaming ability but do have a platform for it: story mode is super forgiving to the point that I genuinely did not understand how primer/detonator worked. I actually really liked easy mode, which was rarely so challenging as to be deeply stressful (though not always) (FUCKING FORMLESS ONE. WORSE THAN ELGAR'NAN HIMSELF) but required a soupçon of strategy. I am still so fucking bad at parrying that I'm just not even looking at the rogue class, but I got in some parries, and when I did? it felt INCREDIBLE. I got off a parry against Elgar'nan just now and I'm still riding that high.

I really do intend to track all faction sidequests and come up with My Definitive Guide For When To Do Things because a very valid complaint is that it's not entirely clear. At worst this leads to Neve not knowing what the fuck to choose in The Soul of a City, which was very frustrating. At less bad this just leads to anticlimaxes (in my first run I did Partners in a Dangerous Crime after For the Love of Treviso unlocked which led to being locked out of the latter for a hot second and then going from the big Reclaiming Treviso quest chain to "hey, let's investigate this relatively minor thing"; I also left that minor mercenary quest until after Something's Coming, which really fits best as the last major one for the Wardens).

I am so sorry Rivain, I have gotten better at navigation but the pacing is MAD FUCKED. Like, literally 5 relatively low-stakes quests open up only after Taash's main final quest, which itself opens up after Blood of Arlathan, which is the last major quest before you trigger the endgame. so you are like. well. we must kill the gods, free Treviso, and I have 5 other people to level up (Harding's questline runs a little faster than most) BUT yeah sure let's follow the fucking spirit of adventure to some treasure chests on the beach I GUESS

it is good writing that in a much more antagonistic towards Solas run I'm still like. i feel like redeeming him just hits different. but man it was closer this time. I seriously considered tricking him; Taash being like "Harding would want you to kick his ass" almost got me to do it.

Yeah there really should have been like. one post-final battle scene. people moving out of the lighthouse or something. I also felt there was just...more unfinished business this run (Lucanis and Taash especially) that I would have liked to have had one more scene about.
