Weißt du was? Das ist die ganz große Doris-Verschwörung.

Doris war nämlich tatsächlich die Nachbarin der Schürks (daher kannte sie Boris). Und sie hat Leo damals mit dem Spaten gesehen. Dann hat sie im Krankenhaus angeheuert - oder hat sowieso dort gearbeitet und sich freiwillig für die Pflege von Roland gemeldet, damit sie mitbekommt, wenn er aufwacht, und Boris sofort Bescheid sagen kann, damit der endlich an seinen Teil der Beute kommt! Und als Leo ankam, hat sie so getan, als wüsste sie nicht, wer er ist. (Leo war bestimmt nie lange bei Adam zuhause und hat sie daher nie gesehen.) Oder ein:e Kolleg:in hat Leo für Rolands Sohn gehalten und sie hat die:n zumindest nicht aufgeklärt.

Und dass Adam wieder da ist, hat sie Boris brühwarm erzählt. Und auch, dass Roland aufgewacht ist. Wie hätten Boris oder Modall das denn sonst wissen sollen? (ja, gut, es war irgendwie in der Zeitung, aber ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Das war im Prinzip alles schon seit DfL geplant. Und da Boris von Leo weiß und Doris sich da sicher so ihre Gedanken gemacht hat (da Leo Adam ja auch durch die Gegend fährt, nach ihm sucht etc. etc.), ist Leo plötzlich in Gefahr.

When we first met Faruzan in the House of Daena, she told us about the rumours surrounding the book, and how many readers believed the markings left in its pages were by other researchers or shady organizations who had written down secret codes to hidden treasure. All of which she had easily dismissed after she studied the book herself and realised that the circled names were not real ciphers or codes at all because they made no real logical sense. But as the quest went on, it turns out it was really only 5 not-so-random people who had circled the names: first, Kaveh and Alhaitham, and then....

... Tighnari himself also left a mark in the book (three circles, in fact), because he's a kind soul who wanted to mitigate the risk of spoilers to other future readers.

Dehya had read the book too, due to the rumours about treasure and her own curiosity. But while she couldn't figure out the "puzzle" either, she was still compelled by it, as though it were a ritual or game, so she added her own circle into the book as well. And then felt so bad about it later for "interfering with other people's reading experiences" that she decided to confess this "sin" of hers to Candace... because Candace is, uh, a respected warrior in their community... What???? XD

Then, you’d think that the General Mahamatra himself would have better sense about all this, but no! Because he had also read the book and recognised three of the circles as Tighnari's (from the special ink he'd used), Cyno was concerned about Tighnari being caught unknowingly in some dangerous conspiracy and decided that the only way he can help protect his friend was to go "undercover" and be part of said conspiracy... So he circled ALL the remaining names in the book!

These days, “QAnon” represents an umbrella of countless conspiracy theory beliefs. But it started with bogus claims on an internet forum by an anonymous account ― “Q” ― who claimed during the Trump administration to have high-level access throughout the American government, and who painted an unimaginably wide picture of corruption, sex abuse and revenge for their followers.

According to Q, financial elites and the “deep state” are in fact members of a vast child abuse ring, and they dictate global politics from the shadows. Donald Trump, in this universe, is secretly fighting against them with the help of QAnon believers, or devoted “digital soldiers,” and working toward the eventual “Storm” when QAnon’s villains will be either executed or imprisoned en masse. I know people are either following me because I used to post about Star Trek constantly or because I post about Bowie a lot, so here’s some random David Bowie and Star Trek connections I’ve been collecting for the past year or so. This is purely self-indulgent, but if you find this sort of thing interesting, here you go.

This is from an unpublished interview for Zygote magazine from 1971 where he was discussing the meaning of various songs. The particular song he's talking about here is "The Supermen." In case you don't want to read the full article for context, he mentioned Star Trek to act as a comparison, he was not saying that that was the initial inspiration/meaning.

This ad has song notes that Bowie wrote for the album Hunky Dory. The one of relevance is “Bewlay Brothers,” which is at the bottom of the list. It says, “Another in the series of David Bowie confessions — Star Trek in a Leather Jacket.”

You might be wondering what this means, well Bowie never really gave a consistent answer as to what this song was about. And according to Ken Scott, the producer of the album, Bowie purposefully wrote it to give a song to Americans who were reading too much into things (this was in the era of the Paul McCartney actually died and was replaced conspiracy lol). Bowie did say at different points that it was more or less about his own half-brother, but who knows if he changed his mind about that.

Although as a side note I will say that some of the lyrics sound like they could be describing Star Trek episodes lol

My Life With Bowie: Spider From Mars by Woody Woodmansey (drummer for the Spiders From Mars, Bowie’s band during the Ziggy Stardust era). He’s describing the bar in The Rainbow Room, as they were rehearsing for the most elaborate of the Ziggy Stardust concerts in August of 1972.

Mick Ronson talking about the Ziggy Stardust boots, the clip is from the documentary Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story. Angie, in case people don’t know, was Bowie’s first wife.

Side note about this one though, Bowie compared his own boots to wrestler boots (see image below). But Mick’s shoes weren’t far off from the Star Trek boots.

Because I’m me, I’ve been trying to figure out what song he did this during—with certainty I can say it was during the second half of the set after the intermission. That would make it so that they were either songs from Ziggy Stardust or from Station to Station.

My guess (and it really is only a guess) is that it could have been during “TVC15.” When he performed it live he’d often sing “she’s my main creature feature” and sometimes do devil horns with his fingers and whatnot. Seems like a plausible spot, anyhow. The other one is potentially the song “Ziggy Stardust,” but just based on how he usually performed that one, such as where he’d add gestures and how he tended to convey the emotions of the song, I find it more unlikely.

But I wasn’t there and these are literally just guesses. On the off chance someone was there and that they inexplicably remember this, I would love to know.

Gates McFadden, before being Beverley Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation, was the choreographer for the film Labyrinth, where of course Bowie played Jareth the Goblin King.

And to avoid possible confusion, she was not the choreographer for "Magic Dance" at least when it came to Bowie's moves, as that was Charles Augin. She was, however, the choreographer for "As The World Falls Down" with the ballroom scene.

Additionally Iman, who Bowie met in 1990 and married in 1992, was in Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country as Martia. She was on set filming at least in April of 1991 in LA, as you can see in this filming schedule I found on an auction website. I don’t know how long she was filming for, though.

(Side note, Bowie was in LA at least towards the end of April/beginning May as he talked about how he and Iman saw the riots that happened then. No I’m not saying he visited the set, since for one Shatner says he never met Bowie, but I still think it’s neat he was generally around when she was filming).

It’s not actually that much in the grand scheme of things and more than anything just shows that Bowie was a fan of the show. It should also be remembered that Star Trek wasn’t ever really cited as a huge influence for him in terms of aesthetic, which is a rather common assumption people make, but I thought that these were fun nonetheless. I’m sure I also missed/forgot stuff, so if I come across more I'll probably add to this later on.

How do you think Branch's meeting with JD went?

Meeting John Dory was a complete lucky accident they didn’t have any clues to where he would be so the chances of finding him were low. The kids stumble onto Rhonda while John is out gathering supplies. She’s friendly so everyone is excited to treat her like a big pet she especially seems to like Branch for some reason after smelling him. Creek makes a joke about how he’s surprised anyone could like Branch more after smelling him (they’ve been in the woods for weeks it’s a bit of a given)

This is when they noticed a door on her side. Oh she must be a transport critter that means someone might live here. There’s some debate on if they should try going inside before they decide to actually see if it’s even locked or not.

It isn’t why would JD even think he would need to out in the middle of nowhere. Being able to go inside quickly is important to his survival out here.

The inside is very homey with the exception of a couple conspiracy boards hanging around covered in Brozone memorabilia. Some of this stuff is original prints where did this person even get these! At this point the Branch is standing there like

And there’s a voice behind them going “Whoever’s in there better get out here right now!”

John Dory comes back from gathering sticks for tonights fire to see Rhonda’s door wide open with Rhonda looking at him glad that he’s returned. He doesn’t know what to expect so he pulls out his machete and hopes he sounds threatening enough to be taken seriously. You can imagine his shock when group of teenagers are the ones to pour out of Rhonda looking nervous. He feels a bit bad for scaring them when one of the funk trolls says. “Oh no! The old Mountain hobo is gonna kill us!” Which okay fair. This looks bad but he’s only 32 the old comment is uncalled for! “Okay first of all not old! Second I’m not going to hurt a bunch of kids so calm down.”

Branch is staring at this scruffy old guy with a knife when he recognizes the goggles he’s wearing. “John Dory?” John looks at him almost startled to hear his own name in so long. “Uh yeah? Do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar I just can’t place it.” For some reason the rest of the group keeps looking back and forth between them like they’re expecting something to happen. Is that popcorn? The kid is looking at him incredulously and says. “Seriously man? Why don’t you take a guess?”

John is taking in this kid who look so similar to pictures he has hanging all over in Rhonda. He almost can’t believe the conclusion he’s coming too. “Bitty B?” He can’t believe it his baby brother is actually alive!

Branch looks like he’s about to make sarcastic comment and maybe tell JD he’s just Branch now but he’s cut off by being squeezed into one of the tightest bear hugs of his life. He’s patting John frantically on the arm to let him know he needs to breath.

So. Since I've noticed quite a bit of Supernatural fans(or Jensen Ackles fans) are coming on board for Tracker Episode 12, decided to put together a little crash course to help out if needed.

Tracker is... kinda like a procedural? It's not a typical procedural, it's more like something akin to the Fugitive from the 60s, or Reacher(circa now, on Amazon Prime). It's one man carrying the show, but it gets a little complicated from there.

The show focuses around Colter Shaw, a drifter type and "rewardist" who grew up in the Sierra National Forest after his father had a psychotic break and moved the family there. He's an expert survivalist and tracker because of this, and roams the country helping people find, well, people.

However! The twist comes from the backstory. Ashton Shaw(the father) died mysteriously, and Russell Shaw(Jensen Ackles), is the prime suspect in Ashton's death(According to Colter). But we don't know everything. (It's been spoon fed very sparingly, so, we don't know).

The series is admittedly interspersed between past and present, with Colter pursuing various jobs in finding people.

We also have such storylines as:

-Hey, what if this drifter helped take down an actual cult

-For my first episode I will leap with you from this cliff with a bullet rattling around in my shoulder

-Uncovering corruption in a really fucked up town and family and being shot at and stabbed repeatedly

-Dark school conspiracies(TWICE), but also dealing with abusive people

-Dismantling illegal poker rings and dealing with lawyer corruption

-Visa schemes and illegal fighting rings

-That poor horse and the dark shit of the horse racing world

-The Fetanyl trade and trying to be better than your past

-Hey what if basically you were kidnapped just cause and missing for three years (Actual horror)

-Man goes skydiving after a missing plane with people in it, comically overprepared and basically a chase through the Idaho Wilderness.

-I reunited with my sister-Oh this got DARK. (I think it's trying to play on the Theranos scandal? They name drop it in the beginning of the episode)

You will encounter such characters as:

Teddi and Velma Bruin: An older lesbian couple who serve kind of Colter's handlers, they have a lot of dogs and are in general big Worried Mom energy.

Bobby Exeley: A double amputee computer whiz, is often fed up with Colter's bullshit but loves him irregardless. Was saved by Colter from something, but he refused to elaborate.

Reenie Green: Colter's ex, badass lawyer extraordinaire. Has taken out grown men with pipes, will literally run through red tape to help clients and Colter. Also fed up with Colter but enjoys working with him.

Dory Shaw: The little sister. She's gone onto be a college professor, like their parents, but her field is physics. Works in Wyoming, lived with their aunt and uncle after Ashton Shaw died. Gives Colter crap, but is a badass in her own right.

Russell Shaw: Yup, Jensen Ackles himself. The big brother. Who Colter suspects killed Ashton, but has been calling Colter throughout the show to try and talk to him. He joined the military, but other than that, we don't know much about him yet.

And that's all, I think? Without too many spoilers. The fandom is admittedly small online, and on Ao3, as, as of May 1st, there's one total fic for the fandom.

Hey, Rain player here, the rest of my clones recombined and split off, but left me out of the loop. I've sent my own clones to spy on them, and I'm pretty sure they're planning to kill me over something I said right after I split off of them. The original? Fuck, clone relations to each other are weird. The person I peeled right on out of is ALSO a clone technically, and none of this is relevant, fuck. Uh. What do I do here my plan right now is "combine with the clone that tries to kill me"

Oh god, Rain player tech support. I don't even know who in this situation even IS the original. But I'm pretty sure Rain dupliclones all think they're the original? And that they're right? The fact that you're even making distinctions or acknowledging the concept of there being an original Rain player is cool I guess, even though you're definitely a clone, maybe.

I'm not going to ask what you said to cause this murder conspiracy. I'm assuming it was something innocuous that has since spiraled into "from hell's heart I stab at thee" insanity, as is often the case. None of how we got here matters, only that it stops mattering with the least amount of bloodshed possible. If it comes down to bloodshed, the main thing you need to make sure of is that things don't turn into a mutual kill. As long as at least one of you survives, things will turn out hunky-dory, so if worst comes to worst you can just kind of, spread your arms out and take one for the team. It's not like, dying dying, it's kind of like jumping off a cliff in a video game so you can fast-travel to the last checkpoint.

Okay fuck that sounds really sketchy. Look man, Dupliclones are all basically off their rocker and easily suggestible. Bake a bunch of cakes, wheel the cart of cakes over to them, offer it to them as a peace prize, and then start throwing the cakes. Are stop motion characters made into toons? I would assume the cast of The Nightmare Before Christmas were made into toons. But what’s about the characters from studio laika?

A good question, especially for this month. I’m going to answer this because Dawn wanted to send nothing but conspiracy theories and ghost stories. So, you’re about to get maybe a more analytical answer.

First, I want to bring up what toons are. We’re mostly light. There’s paint and ink in us, or at least some of us. A lot of digital toons now, but still, we have light in us the same way you have water in you. In fact, the first toon was nothing more than drawn lines of light.

They weren’t really sentient, but they could take orders and perform tasks like jumping and walking.

Light is still in us and, fun fact, it’s why you can still see our eyes in the dark.

Digital Toons have this, but they don’t have the same binding of paint and ink. At first, this was a problem because they could easily drop things or clip through things because they were mostly a thinking hologram. It’s been perfected now, no more floating or non shadows on them.

So what does this have to to with stop motion puppets? Well, though there have been tests on old clay puppets, adding this element to a puppet hasn’t been easy and also, became a little frowned upon. As time went on. The living puppets were seen as only creepy. Tiny creatures springing to life, studio heads didn’t care for it and it was hard to classify them. Toon? Real? still a puppet? New kind of animatronic? In the end, Stop motion remained a hand made medium. Much like muppets, you need an animator to bring them to life.

I honestly don’t agree with this. I think there are a lot of lovely characters who are not creepy. Wallace and Gromit for example. But the stigma has remained.

But there are rumors of living puppets. Ones studios keep secret. Ones we never see animated frame by from by an animator. And this is where I get into Dawn’s favorite part. Theories and Toon Ghost stories.

I’ve heard the rumors of Tiny Chef being sentient, and honestly, I haven’t seen anything to go against this, so maybe. Along with that, Laika uses a lot of computers in their films and for the puppets, especially after Paranorman (something I don’t know if I agree with). Because of that, there’s a rumor that they have a secret office that houses these characters along with some of the old Will Vinton characters. These rumors vary depending on who you talk to.

Aside from secret living puppets, there are also the ghost stories. That whole “They’re creepy” Thing brings up a lot of camp stories for toons. One was actually told on a radio show. The No sleep show? The story is called “The Toy Box” and it’s one Dawn really likes. If you ever want to hear what a Toon ghost story is like, that’s one of them.

So, this has been a long way of saying stop motion toons may exist in secret, in small forms. But most likely, they still need hands to bring them to life.

Branch thinking he found a crazy Brozone fanatic and being legitimately scared a moment before they realize it's jdut John Dory, very nice.
