So a while ago I made this post

TLDR: Which popular MCYT fanon things do you dislike?

And I've been wanting to do a follow up ever since because it was so fun to read through everyone's opinions; it's great to see people speak their minds in a little space where they can do so without hurting anyone directly. So since it has been a good few months and things about content creators and servers have changed since, there are probably new things people want to get off their chests.

So I'm pretty much just asking the exact same question again. What MCYT fanons and headcanons wind you up?

when i was little i used to play this game with my best friend called "bird girl and bunny girl" where all we would actually do is just run and jump outside at recess, but it was like our thing. i always used to be obsessed w the idea of flying so i would always be bird girl and she would be bunny girl, not bc she particularly liked bunnies i think it was just because she wanted to let me be bird girl cuz she knew i liked it. now my whole "literally me" motif is bunnies and her insta user is (without giving away details) smthn abt being in the sky. i think thats a nice full circle moment there that i didnt actually put together until now. i miss u keira

But consider: Asides from being impatient, Nine couldn't afford to wait any longer. "I've been gone a long time." "What does that mean?" "It means he's winning." Whoever this "big bad" is, he's winning by keeping Nine away from the Chaos. When we visited there, it was a whole temple. Dude is like Helios on his island of cows, he NEEDS to be there. He did the kindest thing he arguably could for MK, both because time was of the essence, (everything related to destiny was happening right now. Wukong looking for a successor, Macaque's revival, LBD making her move, the reincarnation of the pilgrims, etc.) and because waking MK up 50 years before the cycle ends would mean his stone egg would be fully baked. He'd exit as an adult rather than a kid capable of being adopted by Pigsy to live his life. There would just be a shell of a person meant to be the harbinger of chaos, with no personality of his own. Shout out to the person who said that's what the trials were designed to do, to speedrun development of empathy and a personality for the harbinger to sacrifice himself.

Whoever this "big bad" is, he's winning by keeping Nine away from the Chaos.

is he? or was he winning because he got Nines antsy enough to go back to the Chaos beyond? we only got that line to introduce us to our new big bad. “He’s winning” can mean a lot of things. maybe it means “he” has tried to keep Nines away for too long, but Nines does not look upset about the he guy. his beef is with Nuwa

are we sure that is Nines’ temple? and what would he need a temple there for? it’s in the CHAOS! i highly doubt there’s worshipping in there. i honestly thought that “temple” was an entrance into the Chaos beyond. it is the gates, the border of the “cage” so to speak. yeah, sure it had the image of two snakes like yin and Yang but are one of those snakes actually Nines?

there is just a lot about him we do not know and what we were given contradicts each other. i am sure, Nines acted with what he felt was the best course scenario for MK and himself, but that still doesn’t stop his character from being confusing

also, when i said 50 years, i meant; after he woke MK up early, Nines could wait until MK lives 50 years as a mortal. at the very least. like out of all the villains MK would face over the years, Nines could at least have the decency to be kind about it since he does care about MK having his freedom of choice.

and like, 50 isn’t that bad for a human. you may have bad joints now or a fixed sleep schedule, but it id still an age for a character to end the world. Pigsy seems close to his 50s (he reads as 45 to me) and still wields a giant rake!

but obviously, we would have a different dilema with 50 year old mortal MK. he might not be as traumatized about killing himself and communicate his fears (the horror!)

but that’s not my point. my point is that Nines is an immortal chaos being who lived before lmk’s canon cycle and so he sees time differently. one year is not a long time for him, or it shouldn’t be. so why did he only give MK the chance to live less than a quarter of his life and then need to decide if he should kill himself for the cycle or let the cycle end.

Thank you for writing for me! I think I've put most of my fandom-specific wants and DNWs in the request form, so this is mostly a *gestures expansively* very broad guide to Things I Like.

In general, I am super into:

complicated relationships, especially ones where the people involved care about each other a great deal but care about A Cause more (especially if the other party knows this about them and loves them for it)

characters who would rather die than admit to a feeling (who are then, through the magic of storytelling, forced into a situation where they! have no choice! but to admit to a feeling!)

characters who could and have tried to kill each other and are keenly aware of this throughout their interactions

characters who've lived for A Purpose trying to figure out what to do with themselves in its absence

characters living with ongoing pain/injuries/illness

enemies who know each other a little too well

hurt/comfort (let's be honest, heavier on the hurt than the comfort)

Kinks: bondage, biting/marking/other injuries (including weaponplay), impact play, possessiveness, D/s dynamics, orgasm denial/forced orgasm, praise kink, general manhandling. Good with either diagetic kink (the characters know they're Doing Kink and it's all consensual (though I really can live without in-universe attempts to explain RACK or the traffic light system)) or non-diagetic, probably more dub-con kink (the characters are trying to hurt each other for real, but also. they're into it).

Things I am...less into (but these aren't hard DNWs, so if that's where the muse takes you, these are all things I'm willing to be convinced on!):

Modern AUs

bad/sad endings - can be bittersweet, can be threatening a bad future, but I would like at least the possibility that Our Heroes turn things around in the next chapter

enemies to sweet and fluffy lovers (at least, not without more character development than 1k usually allows for!)

Finally, statistically speaking, we probably didn't match on Snowfall (but if we did, hi, I love you, how do you feel about a spring wedding?), but if none of the other prompts are working for you, can I attempt to sell you on unnecessarily kinky vampire/hunter mindgames in totally-not-1930s-Shanghai? There is other plot as well, stunningly beautiful costuming, a good throughline on what it means to be human, and also ninja knights. It's only 24 30-40 min episodes long, it's all on youtube, and if you'd like to be sold specifically on the ship in my request, please see the fanvid below.

the more I find out about how this person has behaved in both this relationship and a bunch of other relationships, the funnier it is how much they like to set themselves up as a like. authority on ethical nonmonogamy and consent and conflict management.

when like. they constantly sexually assault people to prove a point, pressure their partners into shit, got into enm by cheating on 3 people concurrently, and literally every time a problem in their orbit is brought up it gets explained away without anything actually changing, or they cry about how hard it is until everyone says OH NO IT'S FINE DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT

So I have a playlist for pretty much every writing project I've worked on, since I was like 17, and sometimes my wife and I play a game where while I'm making food or cleaning in the kitchen or something she'll put on one of those playlists and see how fast I can figure out which one she chose.

10/10 it's a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend.

I always felt blaming Snow White the character (especially both her Disney iterations and the Brothers Grimm fairytale) for her fear in the forest is just. Unimaginably silly considering both iterations make a point of telling us she is a child. And considering what context the connotations offered to that term by the fairytale genre, plus the fact Snow White is able to marry by the end of her tale, it really sheds some light on the fact that like. for the majority of her story she’s straddling the line between child (not legally eligible for marriage) and adult (legally eligible for marriage) as defined by the traditional fairy tale genre, which makes her very young.
