I find it very interesting what episodes you figure out where Eliot, Parker, and Hardison learned to trust each other vs. them believing in each other.

For Hardison The Nigerian Job is where he first started to trust Eliot. But I'd say that The Second David Job is where Hardison believed in Eliot. There's no distinct episode where I think Hardison started trusting Parker, but I do believe that The Stork Job is where Hardison believed in Parker.

For Parker she started to trust Hardison in The Stork Job, and believed in him in The Queen's Gambit job. She trusted Eliot in The Snow Job, and believed in him in The Big Bang Job.

For Eliot he trusted Hardison in The Second David Job, and believed in him The Iceman Job. Eliot trusted in Parker in The Two Horse Job, and believed in her in The Runway Job.

At the heart of the Christian life is love—not a fleeting emotion, but a transformative, divine reality. God Himself is love, and His love was perfectly demonstrated through Jesus Christ, who came to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:9-10). This self-giving love not only reveals the depths of God’s mercy but also calls us into a life shaped by His example.

Our love for others begins with God. As 1 John 4:19 reminds us, “We love because He first loved us.” This foundational truth reminds us that love does not originate in us. It flows from God, who pours His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Our ability to love—even when it is difficult—is a response to the immeasurable love God has shown us.

When we look at the cross, we see the ultimate expression of love: sacrificial, steadfast, and redemptive. Martin Luther put it well: “The love of God does not find, but creates, that which is pleasing to it.” God’s love changes us, enabling us to love the unlovable and forgive the unforgivable.

1 John 4:12 teaches that though we cannot see God, His presence is revealed when we love one another. Our acts of love—kindness, forgiveness, patience—make God’s invisible nature visible. Love is the evidence that we are His children, born of His Spirit and abiding in His truth.

This love is not simply a feeling; it is action. It is choosing to serve, encourage, and forgive, even when it costs us something. As Spurgeon exhorts, “Has anybody offended you? Seek reconciliation... God loved you and sent His Son. Go write according to that copy.” Just as God sought us in our sin, we are called to seek reconciliation and peace with others.

Loving others is not always easy, but it is necessary. John challenges us in verses 20-21: “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.” Our love for God and our love for others are inseparable. When we love one another, we reflect the character of our Creator, and His love is made complete in us.

Okay, this might be a long shot. . .

And I know it's 1AM where I am, but that's the fanfiction witching hour, baby.

So, I'm doing research for the Magician 'verse, and I'm putting my money where my mouth is, with my "Zia is Coptic Christian" headcanon because. . .look, I love TKC, but good fucking god.

Zia is a mess and I'm trying hard to give her a consistent personality and history congruent with her background and some of the writing I'm doing is about to get a bit more Zia-centric. Something that's rapidly becoming relevant is my headcanon that Zia's Coptic (For. . .things. Multiple things), and I'm trying to define that in a way that works for her character while. Uh. Remaining consistent with reality?

I'm a white as hell agnostic who's religious experiences include some ill-fated-exposure-via-extended-family Eastern Orthodoxy (We don't talk about it), childhood-exposure Lutheran Christianity, and that one summer I spent with my Jewish cousins. So. Help?

Say I don't suppose you've ever watched The Librarians TV series have you? I know you probably get show recs all the time and in terms of whumpy drama it tends to fall on the "our heroes win the day through delightful yet somewhat questionable skills of pure nerdy intelligence because magic is real and generally family friendly in visual depiction if not implications". But you had a recent question about found family and imo no show does heartwarming found family better than The Librarians outside of Leverage. (Oh and Coincidentally... Christian Kane who plays Eliot on Leverage also plays a cool smart punchy dude on this show too just with shorter hair 😉)

Also (spoilers) the first two episode series intro story features The Main Librarian character getting stabbed with a magical sword and having to run around for like a whole episode slowly dieing from a sword wound which literally can't be healed because of magic 😋

(More spoilers: he gets better tho no worries. Physically at least. As a person he's both my favorite character and somewhat of an incurable disaster man who probably couldn't order food on the phone without accidentally causing a deadly kitchen fire)

*Gasps* I FORGOT ABOUT THE LIBRARIANS!! How could I remember Leverage but not the other fantastic Dean Devlin found family show. The Dean Devlin verse is great. I loved the Librarians both the movies and the tv show. And I always laugh at seeing Christian Kane going from Leverage to Librarians and then Noah Wyle going from Librarians to Leverage lol. Dean Devlin verse.

Anyway, yes I have seen the Librarians and I love it! It's very found family and i love the magic and silliness of it all. Such a great show. I really love the movies that came out before it too. Noah Wyle is the best. I love me the absent minded, energetic puppy, smarty pants trope. And I remember bawling my eyes out during the pilot episode because of Excalibur. I cried over a sword!! Flynn's long term friend! And of course looooooved the whump Flynn went through with that impossible to heal wound. So good.

Fact: When creating aliases for the Leverage team, Hardison likes to use names that either relate to the con or reference a fandom he’s into. (Notable examples include Willie Riker in a sci-fi themed episode and a recurring alias of Tom Baker.)

Fact: During the Studio Job, Eliot’s alias is named Kenneth Crane, a clear spoonerism reference to actor Christian Kane, who plays Eliot and is the actual singer of the song featured in that episode.

Conclusion: In the Leverage-verse, Christian Kane and Eliot both exist, and Hardison is as big a fan of Christian Kane as he is of Star Trek and Doctor Who.

Let others see the love of Christ in you — through your kindness, words, and actions. You are His living letter, a witness to His transformative power.

Ask God to use you, as He did Paul, to touch others. Trust that He can reach hearts and lives through you, not by your power but by His Spirit.

Heavenly Father, thank You for writing Your love and truth on my heart. Make me a willing instrument in Your hand, reflecting Your grace and love to others. Soften my heart where it has grown hardened, and inscribe Your Word deep within me. May my life be a letter of Christ that others can read and see Your power and love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
