Arcobella/Cherub Lore#1- The Four Types of Arcobella Crystals

Hey ya'll! Hope you're all having a great 2024 so far. I wanted to share some Arcobella lore with you today. Because this continent was all I could think about the past few weeks. Starting with something that I came up with very recently: The Arcobella Crystals!

As the title implies, Arcobella crystals are a type of gem/mineral that can be found only in Arcobella. They are divided into four separate categories based off their shape, cut/facet, colors, and what abilities they boost. The crystal will only reveal itself to the cherub destined to have it when they deem themselves worthy and ready. And the type of crystal they get depends on the cherub's abilties.

Offense Crystals are for cherubs who are more combative in their use of their magic. Those who are assigned this crystal see a significant boost in their fighting abilities. And become more durable and stronger heavy hitters. Offense crystals have a hexagonal facet and are typically red, yellow, and orange in color.

Defense Crystals are for cherubs who's magic is more focused on protection and security. Those who are assigned this crystal will be able to create more powerful barriers and shields, as well as seeing a boost in their offensive skills for self defense. Defense crystals have a triangular facet and are typically blue, purple, and green in color.

Evasion Crystals are for cherubs who use their magic for more secretive work (Ex: Espionage). Those who are assigned this crystal get a boost in their agility, an increase in speed, and the ability to create realistic illusions and disguises. Evasion crystals are diamond shaped and are typically black, white, and gray in color.

Healing Crystals are for cherubs who specialize in tending to the sick and wounded. Those who are assigned this crystal gain access to all knowledge of different potions, medicines, etc. As well as unlocking more healing abilities from their own magic. Healing crystals are circle shaped like pearls and opals, and they're typically pink, peach, and brown in color.

"Venus, you are a Sunrise, famous for their powerful sun magic and famous for their combative skills and abilities," said Upsilon-Scorpi Nightfall, an alumni in the Evasive Studies, whose is known to give informations that motivate cherubs to thrive in Shining Star Academy to change their fate and have a good future. But his words going through their head will lead them to a path of misfortune even further. He is more of a snake than a scorpion and a crow of misfortune. However, he is telling her the same things her teachers, the classmates who gossip behind her back, and the head of The Sunrise Family. She already known that she is a member of one of the strongest families in Arcobella.

Then Upsilon-Scorpi placed an old dusty book in front of her, on the table. "However, this generation forgot one thing they are famous for in the past....."

He opened up the book, clouds of dust flew into the air and hit her face. Venus started to cough. Venus look at the book and see the revelation in her eyes.

"The Sunrise was once famous for their healing abilities too," He said. "Sooooooo, are you ready to revive your family's name as the first healer after ten generations?"

Venus looked at the book, she did not know if he is telling the truth or not. The Nightfall Family are known to be the outcast family because of their union with a species of old world Mewni (Dimension) Magic. Venus stares down at Upilson-Scorpi.

"I don't believe this, I shouldn't be wasting my time and just focus on practicing and studying for my exams, instead of this fraud."

The Bird Beastkin/Celestial Cherub hybrid alumni let out a sight. "Fine, suit yourself. You can always try to use Healing Magic 'the wrong way'."

"Huh?"

"Use your knowledge in Offensive Studies and that secret of your in your Healing Magic in the combative battle to become an unstoppable force in the battle exam. A spy like myself needs to gain new skills and gather knowledges and use them beneficially will become a better person. Not let it die." said Upsilon-Scorpi in a tired expression. He put his hands behinds his head and lean forward. "Anyway, good luck."

The wingless hybrid vanish, leaving a haunting laughter.

Venus place her hands on her face. "I'm doomed..."

The four students of Healing Studies are shock as they saw ‘hot mess’ classmate of their, Venus Sunrise create a sun. Her brown eyes are shining an orange light.

They are shock to see that she manage to create a literal sun. No cherub ever create a sun before. Is she going to burn the entire school by having the sun create a solar flares?

“Can someone turn off the sun?” Said Milky.

“This is not how sun magic works!” said Fautina.

"She is going to destroy the arena, that's a total screw up!" Iriana exclaimed.

Apricotta, Iriana, Milky, and Fautina are unable to moves by the sight of Venus’ Sun. Upsilon-Scorpi watching from afar, eating popcorns and while wearing a shade of sunglasses.

"Oh, this is getting so good." Upsilon-Scropi thought.

Professor Starshooter order a group of Defense Studies students to create a barrier protect the students who are watching the match in the arena.

“SOLAR FLARE!” Venus said, an eruption of electromagnetic radiation, causing the technologies of the school got disrupted. Including the magical floating video-recording artifact that is recording the battle. “BLAST OF SUNSHINE! OFFENSIVE FOMRATION 1.0!!”

The sun launch a missiles of flames, wide range at the cherub, the Celestial Cherub got hit. The Celestial Cherub is about to pass out however.

“BLAST OF SUNSHINE! HEALING MODE!!”

The sun illuminate some sun sprites, landing on her opponent healing all damages on opponent. The Celestial Cherub got up, surprise by this gesture of mercy.

"Whoa," said four of her classmates awestuck by her action.

“BLAST OF SUNSHINE! OFFENSIVE FOMRATION 1.0!! BLAST OF SUNSHINE! HEALING MODE!! DOUBLE THE IMPACT!! THREE TIMES IN A ROW!! DOUBLE THE DAMAGES ON THE LAST ONE!!”

The crowd are in an uproar by her spell combination as a combination of the two styles of 'Blast of Sunshine' cause her opponent to yield. The opponent collapse on the floor, fully healed.

"The winner... Venus Sunrise!" said the referee. A few audiences applaud to her, only her parents claps for her showing how proud of their daughter for winning a fight match.

The audience in arena, most who believe that Venus will lose because of he screw up on her Offense Studies and in the beginning of her Healing Studies saw just happened right now.

Venus mumbled an undo spell and the sun vanished out of thin air. Venus is relief that she pass her battle exam. At least now nobody is going to talk bad about her behind her back. However, now there are eyes staring at her now that they know what she is capable of.

"Damn you, Flightless Celestial Crow of Misfortune...." said Venus.

Made a new test comic. This time I'm focused on Arcobella. I wanted to use this as opporunity to develop Moonstone and both cherubs in general. As well as go more in depth about the continent's school system (Particularly Shining Stars Academy.). So I decided ro make this test comic focused on his school days. I'll go more indepth about Shining Star Academy in the next Arcobella/Cherub lore post. So I hope ya'll will be excited for that.

The smell of burnt paper and sulfur mixed smoke wake her up. Her pinkish orange eyes are opened watery. The Celestial Cherub screamed, runnning to goes downstairs to get the fire extinguisher in the kitchen to extinguish the fire in her room. The dark skinned girl with maroon hair and brown eyes with starry red violet/maroon gradient colored night sky cherub wings with crimson outline realizing there was fire everywhere she goes, the door and windows were on fire and everywhere, looking like a huge flaming purple bird was inside the house flapping it wings.

The little Celestial Cherub called out her parent’s name. She looked around and see her parent was nowhere in sight. The dark thoughts came into her mind, but the child shake it off. Nobody left her. Or die. The child clings onto what little hope. The child flew down to the bottom floor of the burning house, and goes to the kitchen, finding the fire extinguisher. The child pulled the pin, approaching the fire at a safe distance, where there is no fire. She aimed the nozzle towards the base of the fire and squeezed the handles together to discharge the extinguishing agent inside. However, the flames did not goes down, and instead grow worst. The child release the handle, stopping the discharge.

The child gasp, she felt her throat suffocating and start to cough for oxygen. Black dots came to her vision, the child collapsed on the floor. As the fire spread and is burning her, instead of being engulfed in the flame and disintegrated, she feels comfort, soothe, and warmth of the flames.

“….Philia?…. Philia! Thanks the stars, you’re awake! Doctor!”

Philia opened her eyes, seeing the ceiling with her back laid down on the hospital bed. Philia looked around to see who called out her name, and saw her parent in tears, relief to see that Philia was alive and well, after fire broke out in the house. Time passed and she learned that the firefighters quickly came to extinguish the fire, however it became nothing but ash. However, under the ashes, the firefighters found Philia, alive and well with no burns all over her body because after she was left alone unconscious. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined for the authorities of The Stardust Kingdom, Arcobella. No one know it was actually Philia herself that unintentionally started all of this.

Red the Healer and the Dawn of Aussieville: Spawn of Chapter Six: The Gathering Storm:

The land, still reeling from the skirmishes and victories of battles past, braced itself for the confrontation that loomed on the horizon. Among the ranks of the enemy, a new threat had begun to manifest, one that hit close to…

Vincenza sat down on the chair of her room, her office from the Dolittle Mansion, writing one letter after another letter until her fingers form blisters. She neatly put all the letters in a pink envelopes. With the melted red violet coloured wax beads on the melting spoon she just heated by the candle, she pour the wax into a perfect circle to covers the whole stamp of the first envelope. Vincenza print the stamp with a wax seal stamp. As she wait for a few seconds of cooling down, her family’s crest appear in the stamp, issuing official decree. Vincenza hears a ping from her mirrorphone, vibrating on her desk. Vincenza picks it up and open her mirrorphone. Vincenza types in the passcode to unlock her mirrorphone and see a message from her little sister, Empress Cordelia, she invites her for supper for a meeting. Vincenza sigh, her letters have to wait. At least, Vincenza have the opportunity to have a discussion with her sister. Vincenza picks up the letter she completed to gives it to someone she could trust to send this message before taking off to see Empress Cordelia.

Vincenza walk down the empty hallway of the palace, although there are guards of pixies, all line up, it still feel empty. The doors to the dining room is open by two Piikki Pixies open the door for the princess. Vincenza, at front and center, see her sister, Empress Cordelia sitting at front of the king table happily eating her meal. With a stainless steel knife finishing carving a chunk of flesh of a human-esque race, and a fork to hold it, Cordelia lift it up and eat her food. Vincenza couldn’t hide her disgust as she witness her own sister’s eating habit.

“Hello sister, have a seat.” Said Cordelia, offering her to sit with her to have a chat about an important discussion while dining.

Vincenza sat down in her seat for supper. A pixie waiter arrive, serving the princess a slice of garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, and herb-basted potatoes on a platter and a cup of coffee.

“I need to discuss with you on the forestry on behalf of the elves and Piikki Pixies. Count Bush and the elves wants to hold off on the expansion of the empire. They request to halt the lumber mill and to transplant and plant trees so we could-,”

“Declined.”

“But-,” Vincenza responded but got interrupted once again.

“I said no.” Cordelia rejected.

“The forests are sacred to us elves, pixies, and sprites too,” said Vincenza. “We pixies value nature and we live in tree houses and flower houses hanging on trees. The frogs are our friends! We do not need more towns! You will become the Grove Guardian Dogs’ enemy!”

“If I will be thrown to those wolves, I will bring an army to slain them!”

The two sisters glare at each others. Vincenza know this that the Piikki Pixies who have the title count and countress have control over gold and silver mines and a lumbermill, with the elves, in the forest areas, they are the ones responsible for environment. However, they have less authority because the empress is above them. That is why they form an environmental union, sending messages to Cordelia to stop cutting trees as it would damage the habitat of forest creatures and the environment. Cordelia know about this as well, but since she is now the empress, Cordelia brush this off, with ton of excuses that are deem for the greater good. An example of an excuse is ensuring Mewni’s harpies to keep their eggs safe by creating and having farms in Pixtopia with an approval of her harpy/mewman hybrid friend, organize by Aura.

Vincenza eat her supper and have no choice but to resume her task; sending a message to Lady Aura Featherly and the members of Cordelia’s Queencourt a warning about continuing that expansion project.

In the Vincenza’s principality, two of the members of the princess’ court, a Mirrorfolk/Makea Pixie Hybrid and a Celestial Cherub/Piikki Pixie Hybrid, sitting against the tree, they watch as the wife of the princess of the pixies, Felicity Raine-Dolittle is in a state of exhaustion and frustration, pacing back and forth. She and the two pixie hybrids with her have been putting up a defensive barrier to ensure the forestland from the principality is prohibited from destroying and be turns into a construction site.

“Princess Felicity, we understand that you are worry about your majesty, Princess Vincenza’s safety. You need to have faith in her and she will get worry if you are not rested. You need some rest.” Said Essie, the green haired and green skinned Celestial Cherub/Pixie Hybrid. “We can be on guards.”

Felicity let out a huge sigh as she looks at them. They may have been orphans that Vincenza and Felicity took them in, they consider them as their kids.

“Essie, I appreciates that you and Sherry are concerns about me and helping me protect the principality. However, it is best for you two to leave. You two still have your life ahead of you. I am sure Gino would be worry about you two as well.”
