Honestly I don't have much of an explanation outside of I like the irony of a Blind Watcher. And. Well. Grian is right there for things to go awry like that. So,

and speaking of writers.. my art garnered the attention of not one, but two writers, who both created fanfics based off of my art!! It's been such a cool experience seeing how differently they've both taken things and they're both VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!!!

Parts make up a whole, but Mumbo hasn't been a part of anything for a very long time. He was okay with that though. The world was more than welcome to continue outside his window, as long as he had his oven and his cable tv all to himself. But every once in a while, the outside world comes inside, and he has to chase it back out with a broomstick. This time, his technique backfires in a way he never could have imagined. Or... Mumbo could count the number of his friends without even raising a hand. Who knew that a 30,000 year-old creature stealing his bed comforter could change that?

You’re laughing. Gem canonically summoned dragons from one of her past worlds and you’re laughing. Gem’s a Watcher even in Empires 1 where she was one of the lore heaviest players, in episodes often discussing the implications of her actions directly with the audience, especially how much fun she was having playing a role out of her comfort zone, and you’re laughing.

a lot of people are insisting on viewing jack and joker purely as romance for some reason and getting upset that it is not... and as a result their opinions are so disturbingly disregarding of essentially the whole show because the society as portrayed in it is so so important to jack and joke's relationship and background like do you think the whole four horsemen lore was just for fun??? do you think the temple and the people it houses is just some insignificant nonsense? do you think Suphanimit is just where tattoo lives? do you think Jennie's death was just a silly shock value???

do you think it's a coincidence that the main leads include a rich kid who steals for the poor and a poor kid who is strongly against theft???

romance is OBVIOUSLY difficult in their circumstances like have you met the average economically underprivileged gay person in an underdeveloped part of a developing country??? it's a love that inherently becomes 'different', stitching within it the social 'other'ness of the main characters. that's what people just can't digest. being used to seeing things as this or that, black or white, good or bad, has choked people out of the ability to perceive flawed individuals learning to love and choose their families despite not knowing how to love or protect in the right way, despite the world constantly closing on on them, despite the impact threatening to rip them apart.

Oughhhh my brain…. theres so many vague ones from my childhood that I have to remember… oh, I’ve got one that definitely put me through a wringer of emotions I didn’t understand at the time fjhdkshfd

The Green Death from the first How to Train Your Dragon book!! (Fun fact it was and might still be my favorite book series of all time. I definitely have fond memories of it.) The Green Death also one of the guys that changed my brain chemistry forever (Giant threatening dragon. Giant monster. Oof)

There’s no pictures of him I can find 😭 but there were illustrations in the book. He’s a Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus, and he’s so large you never get a full body illustration of the guy, only his eye, his teeth or a talon… brhhh

For context the Green Death washed up on Berk. The Berkians tried to do a war cry to scare it away but he basically scoffs at it and proceeds to roar the bones out of their skin and they couldn’t figure out what to do. So Hiccup, someone who can speak Dragonese, goes up to talk with him on his own to try to persuade him away with words.

He proceeds to have a really tense chapter where the dragon wakes up from his nap and repeatedly, casually threatens his life, speaking about the different ways he could kill/eat him, his eye is taller than a human,

One scene is when he talks about how he’d go about deboning a human and a giant claw lands on the cliff Hiccup’s standing on.

And then later on through plot reasons the dragon becomes enraged at Hiccup in particular and ignores every other human running away from him to pursue him specifically

Needless to say the chapter where Hiccup talks with the Green Death was kid me’s favorite. I kept rereading it. And I was like “why do I really like this part.” LMAO

sometimes i think about this one post that someone made where they said that everyone treats will in a special manner because he's a sensitive kid and that's why mike treats him differently, but it's just like... i mean. yeah. you're right lol. everyone does treat him differently precisely because of his sensitive and meek nature, but the person they're specifically thinking of is lucas.

lucas has a will voice and he certainly doesn't treat will like he does dustin or mike, BUT the difference between lucas and mike is that lucas never once treats will the way he treats max. he has never been written into a situation where dustin tells max that lucas is going to X, Y, and Z for her in no time, only to then cut to lucas going and immediately doing X, Y, and Z for will while max is somewhere waiting on him to finally figure out how to talk to her like a human being. max never once gets jealous of will or gets left behind for / switches places with will either. lucas treats will sweetly in an entirely platonic manner and he always has.

meanwhile, mike treats will sweetly in a way that other characters on the show–namely lucas and max–expect him to treat el. and the difference is further highlighted by how he does all of the right things for will, but never el, and certainly not without hand-holding explain like i'm five levels of guidance.

despite dating eleven, that treatment is solely reserved specifically for will. he always knows what to say, what to do, what will wants, and he feels comfortable enough with will to do it all with ease. and when he doesn't know, he still feels safe enough to work and talk through it with him rather than retreating to someone else and dishing all their problems to them instead of him.

none of that EVER happens between will and lucas or will and dustin. ever! they treat him differently, but not in a way that's similar to how they treat their girlfriends or are expected to treat their girlfriends.

like. there just really is no other relationship in the party that is written like mike and will's lol. lucas was willing to go to the gate himself to find will all on his own, proving that he most definitely loves will an extraordinary amount, but i feel like there's a CLEAR distinction made between all of those friendships which highlights which are platonic and which are not.

will was upset with both lucas and mike in season three, but there's a Reason he mostly blew up at mike and proceeded to go to castle byers after and tear a picture of them right down the middle while memories that start and end with mike's voice play in the background, and it's not just because will likes him.

will's behaviors have remained consistent and admiringly Normal, even with his larger than life feelings for mike, but mike's are always changing and clearly indicative of him struggling with Something that he's yet to tell anyone about in full. it's mike who couldn't juggle being with el and being friends with will at the same time. can the same be said for will and lucas? or will and dustin? obviously not.

Arthur is researching some murder or something when suddenly he can see again and then he just Knows what he's researching. They're so confused and Jon is refusing to trust John and just keeps running into shit.

the last time I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer in full I think I was about 20 years old. I was close enough, if not in age then at least in experience, to Buffy to primarily relate to her. coming back to it now, as a nearly 32-year-old, is wild. no one in this show is good at parenting.

Y'all you don't understand. My new job is so sooo haunted! I finally had a good ghost story to send to To Many Spirits! This is devastating!!

Now I'm stuck here working at this haunted ass building during the graveyard shift for no fucking reason. I have to tell all the ghouls I see out of the corner of my eye that vanish if I turn to look and that lady who was whispering to me in the empty garage that they gotta give it up. No more motion sensing lights flickering on with no one near, no more motion activated security cameras trying to capture intruders and picking up nothing.

There's no point to all that silliness now. Watcher is dead boys, pack it up. 😞
