Yasss pants girls unite! Idk it’s kinda what I’m into atm. I’ve also been kinda Into sweater vest lol. Yaaa I love wearing jewelry, I wear this gold necklace that has my initials on it when I play tennis. But I also just got gifted a butterfly necklace and it’s the cutest thing ever.

Ooo I’m getting my license this year as well!! My parents usually don’t pick me up, cuz my guy best friend has a car right now, but before we’d just sleep over lol. He likes to host mini get togethers. I barely drink tho. But if I do, I make sure I sleep over lol . I’m rooting for your driving hehe. Mine is black cherry as well! Carpe Posterum ~ Seize the Future 

“Antoni, henny, what delicious treat did you make for us today?” Jonathan asked as he leaned on the counter in the loft.  

“Chocolate mousse with chocolate from the best shop in Brooklyn with fresh whipped cream.”

“Yummy.”

“It’s time to check in with our favorite Avenger,” Bobby announced excitedly.  

“Are we ready?” Karamo asked as he grabbed the remote.

“Yasss!”

They settled themselves on the couch and started Steve’s reveal.

Steve stood in front of his mirror still in the white Henley, pondering what to wear.

“He is so gorgeous,” Jonathan gushed.

“Oh my gosh, yes,” Karamo agreed.

Steve finally settled on a light blue Henley over dark jeans, with a pair of brown boots.

“Tan, do you approve?”

“It’s a bit more casual than I’d want, but honestly this is such a huge step up from what he was doing. I’m happy.”

“Plus these are like his closest friends. I think he looks comfortable,” Bobby added.

“Agreed.

Steve pulled the iron man apron over his head with a chuckle and tossed a tea towel over his shoulder as he prepared the lasagna.

Everything was ready only moments before his doorbell rang.

“Oh. My. God.”

Y/n was the first to react, jaw dropping to the floor as she scanned him up and down, settling on his neatly trimmed beard.

“You look amazing.”

“Come on in. Take a good look at the Fab Five’s handiwork.”

“Holy shit,” Bucky swore as they piled into the building. “You almost look presentable.”

Despite the jab, Bucky was beaming at his best friend.

“You look great, man.”

“Come on, give us a twirl.”

Steve did a slow turn with his arms out so they could see the whole look.

“Umm, y/n definitely just checked out his butt.”

“Who could blame her, henny?”          

They each hugged him in turn, but Steve didn’t let go of y/n. Opting instead to keep her tucked into his side. She didn’t mind in the least.

“Are you ready to see the place?”

“Hell yes!”

As expected, Sam and Bucky were immediately enthralled with garage and the state of the art home gym. Y/n, however, was much more taken with the first floor of the living space.

“It’s so light and open. I love it.”

“I do too.”

Bucky gave Steve a watery smile when he sat in the wingback chair.

“Thank you for that by the way.”

“My pleasure. But I don’t think we’ll both fit anymore.”

“No, I don’t think so,” Steve hummed. “But that’s why we have this great sectional.”

“Can we just talk about the fact that he has not let go of Y/n once since she came in.”

“I’m sensing a love connection.”

“It seems reciprocated at least.”

“Oh 100%. She is so sweet. And you can tell how much she cares about him.”

“Same with him. He would go completely soft talking about her. He always smiled when he talked about her.”

“Hopefully, he’ll make a move.”

 “How did the week go?” Natasha asked as she perched on the back of the sectional after they’d finished the quick tour of the upstairs.

“It was different than what I expected,” Steve admitted.

“What did you expect?” Bucky asked.  

“I guess I thought it would be more of a passive experience. Like I thought they would just tell me what to wear, or how I should style my hair. I didn’t expect it to be a conversation. That was really nice.”

“So you feel like you had a say in all of the decisions?”

He nodded his agreement.

“Definitely. And I haven’t felt this in control of my life in probably ever. And now it feels like I can, you know, maybe enjoy retirement.”

They all smiled, and y/n patted his thigh.

“We’re so happy to hear you say that.”

“Does that mean we’re forgiven for nominating you for the show?” Sam joked.

“I was never all that mad, so I’m not sure forgiveness is necessary, but my gratitude certainly is. Thank you. All of you for caring enough to do this. I love you all, and I haven't told you that nearly enough.”

“We love you too, punk.” Bucky clapped him on the shoulder and pulled him into him.

“So Antoni actually managed to teach you how to cook?” Natasha asked, warily eyeing the lasagna which looked too good to be true.

“Yes, he did.”

“But he didn’t help you make this?” Sam clarified.

“Nope. Did it all my own.”

“Yeah, you did! Like a champ,” Antoni cheered.

Y/n quickly cut a bite and forked it into her mouth to shut them up, burning her tongue in the process.

“Ouch.” She muffled a curse in her water glass.

“You okay, doll?”

She coughed, thumping her chest.

“Yeah, I’m good. It’s just very hot. It’s delicious though. Antoni taught you well.”

Steve preened.

“Look how proud he is!”

“Well it helps that it’s coming from her too.”

“She really is so lovely.”

As the others dug in, adding their surprised by honest praise, Steve and Y/n shared a look.

“Ack. Look at the secret smile!”

After dinner, Sam and Bucky raced to the basketball court to settle their latest ridiculous argument and Natasha busied herself with the dartboard. Steve knew they were trying to help him out subtly – well not so subtly – since all of them winked super exaggeratedly.

“That is how you wingman,” Karamo announced.

“I can take care of those, y/n,” Steve argued as y/n started soaping up the dishes.

“Please,” she waved him off. “You cooked. I can clean up. Dinner was delicious by the way, Steve. Thank you.”

“You’re very welcome. But seriously, just let those soak,” he insisted, reaching around her at the sink to turn off the water. “I have a surprise for you.”

“Oh?”

Her voice rose in excitement as she turned, still trapped between him and the sink (not that she was complaining). He grinned down at her.

“The tension is seriously killing me.”

“I have not rooted for two people to kiss so much since Mia Thermopolis was about to be crowned Queen of Genovia and totally didn’t need a husband, but had that hunky Chris Pine ready to be her prince. And let’s be real, who doesn’t want to kiss Chris Pine.”

“My thoughts exactly,” Tan teased as Jonathan sat back pleased with his reference.

“Yep, I made a special dessert all for you.”

“Really?” Her eyes lit up at the prospect.

“Yeah, Antoni taught me. Gave me a foolproof recipe for your favorite. It’s only got two ingredients and none of the equipment plugs in.”

“Steve, did you make me chocolate mousse?”

He shrugged and gestured toward the island.

“Have a seat.”

She hopped onto the comfortable bar stool, crossing her legs as she watched him rummage around in the fridge.

 “She looks like she wants to eat him up,” Jonathan guffawed.

“The quickest way to my heart is through food, so I’m not surprised.”

“Get it, girl.”

 Steve emerged victorious with two extra large martini glasses filled with chocolate mousse and a canister of fresh whipped cream.

 “Umm, bonus points for presentation!” Antoni cheered, bouncing up and down on the couch.

“Wait you didn’t tell him to do that?” Karamo asked.

“No. I just taught him how to make it.”

Karamo was visibly impressed as were the others.

“You go, Steven! Slay that presentation.”

 “Well it certainly looks nice. Here’s hoping it’s edible,” she teased, taking the spoon he offered her.

He waited impatiently for her to taste it, and when her eyes slid shut he lit up.

“Oh my god, this is amazing. It tastes like those little elephant chocolates you get for me every Christmas. Only like it’s a cloud. Is this really only two ingredients?”

“Yep.”

“What are they chocolate and magic?” she giggled.

“Something like that. So you like?”

“Delicious.” She reached for him, pulling him to her side of the island leaving her hand in his. “And it’s really sweet that you learned to make it just for me. You know this may earn you the title of favorite super soldier.”

“You mean that’s not already a given? I’m wounded.”

“Don’t be annoying,” she glared up at him.  

He pretended to zip his lips and throw away the key.

“Much better.”

They enjoyed their mousse in a comfortable silence, which she finally broke a few minutes later.

“I’m really proud of you for doing this you know. It was really brave.”

“I would never have done it without you guys nominating me,” he admitted in a quiet voice.

Y/n reached out for both of his hands, pulling him to stand directly in front of her.

“That may be true, but you are the most stubborn person I know.”

His brow furrowed in confusion.

“Thank you?”

“My point,” she giggled, “Is that if you really didn’t want this, it wouldn’t have mattered how we begged or pleaded with you. You would not have done it, or you would have stonewalled them. The fact that you opened up, means you put in the work. You chose to be happy. And I’m so proud of you.”

His cheeks tinged pink ever so slightly.

“Thank you for everything, y/n. You’ve always been there for me. When I came out of the ice. When I was looking for Bucky and throughout the Accords debacle. I don’t know where I’d be without you.”

“The feeling is mutual.”

“And Bobby told me about you getting the photos from the Smithsonian. That must have taken you ages.”

She dropped her eyes to their intertwined hands.  

“It was nothing.”

He let go of one of her hands so he could lift her chin.

“It is everything,” he murmured, cupping her cheek.

Leaning down, he gently kissed her, fully intending to pull back after a moment. He was not expecting her to wrap an arm around his neck and pull him closer.  

The Fab five quickly paused the video and celebrated.

“Yes!”

“Finally!”

“Well done, Steven.”

When they continued, the edit politely cut away from the couple and directly to the next day. Steve was once again in his room getting ready, only this time his outfit was the tux.

“Tan, I am completely in love with that tuxedo.”

“It’s the perfect color for him.”

“His eyes are so blue. Oh I could just lose myself all day in those oceans.”

“He looks so sharp. And you know he’s going to stand out.”

“And he should. This night is all about him.”

The cheer from the crowd was deafening when he stepped off the elevator. Steve’s cheeks tinged pink, but his confident gait didn’t falter.

“Looking good, Rogers. You might even be able to get the girl after all of this,” Tony smirked, eyeing Y/n who was waiting patiently by the bar.

“Maybe I will,” Steve smirked.

“You look happy, Cap. I’m glad,” he added in a more serious tone.

The two men hugged, and Steve continued his circuit of the room.

Thor complimented his hair and beard, and Bruce loved his tuxedo. The rest of the guests clamored for their moment to speak with him. Finally, Natasha was able to cut in and lead him to the one place he’d been trying to get to all night. Y/n.

“Hey, handsome.”

“Hi, beautiful.”

He leaned down for a lingering kiss before leaning on the bar next to her.

“How are you doing?”

He took a deep breath and swayed his head side to side.

“Pretty good. This is pretty tame for Tony.”

“Nat and I had final say on the guest list,” Y/n reported proudly.  

“You’re welcome by the way,” Nat smirked at him.

“Thank you, both.”

Bucky and Sam were practically falling over themselves laughing as they joined them.

“What trouble are you getting up too?”  

“Nothing, doll,” Bucky promised.

“We just saw Tony sputtering because he saw you two kiss.”

“He did tell me I might get the girl at the end of the night.”

“Little did he know,” Sam grinned.

Steve bounced back and forth between different groups for much of the evening. Often Y/n would accompany him, but sometimes she would sit back and watch.

“They’re such a pretty couple.”

“I love them.”

About halfway through the party, Tony took the stage.

“Good evening, everyone. Thank you so much for coming out tonight to celebrate the retirement of the one and only Captain America. Steve Rogers. Now, before we hear from the man himself, I’d like to say a few words. Steve, I know that we didn’t get off to the best of starts, but throughout our ups and downs you have never wavered in your commitment to helping people. The world is a much safer and better place because of you. You may be moving on from the Avengers, but you’ll always have a home here. Thank you for your service. And happy retirement. Everyone please raise your glass, to Steve Rogers.”

The room raised their glasses and toasted him, and Steve teared up.

“Now, I think we would all like to hear from Steve. So, Captain Rogers, please come on up.”

Y/n squeezed his hand as he approached the stage, hugging Tony tightly.

“Thank you, Tony.”

“You’re welcome, Capsicle.”

Steve snorted and clapped him on the back as they traded places. He took a deep breath before starting.

“Hi, everyone. Thank you all for coming. And thank you, Tony for hosting this retirement party. I don’t think it will come as a surprise to many people here that I didn’t really ever think that something like this was in my future. But while I will always be here to fight when I’m needed, it’s time for me to lay down the shield.”

The room was silent as he spoke. Plenty of people in the room had been on the receiving end of Steve’s motivational speeches, but few had ever heard him talk about himself.

“He is so composed,” Karamo complimented as Steve continued his speech.

“This was not an easy decision. And part of the reason for that is because I felt like I was failing everyone by giving up the shield. And to be honest, I had no idea what to do with myself if I wasn’t fighting. But I’ve spent this past week with five fabulous men who have helped me find a future. They also showed me that I am more the Captain America. But I’ve also realized that Captain America is bigger than I am. The world deserves and needs a symbol of hop. And I’m so very proud to say that that is exactly what will be happening. I am officially passing my shield onto the only man who could take it on. Sam Wilson. Sam, please come up here.”

The room erupted in shock both on the television and in the loft.

“Oh my God.”

“Did anyone know he was planning this?” Antoni asked.  

“No.” They all chorused.

Sam approached the stage with his head held high as the others overcame their shock and started cheering. Steve held out a hand to help him up, and Sam couldn’t help but smile as he remembered the first day they met.

“The floor is yours, Captain.”

They hugged fiercely before Steve stepped back, literally and figuratively.

“Hi, everyone. I’m going to keep this short. Steve, I just want to say thank you for trusting me. The shield has absolutely been a symbol of hope for me. But the shield would be nothing without your heart and your goodness. I will do my very best to carry on your legacy. Thank you.”

���Let’s hear it for Captain America,” Bucky yelled from the back of the room, grinning like a fool.

Everyone cheered as Sam and Steve came down off the stage, and Sam was engulfed by well-wishers.

Steve was beaming as he made his way to Y/n, Bucky, and Natasha.

“When did you make that decision?” Natasha asked as he grabbed a beer.

“It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while, but talking to Karamo made me realize that it wasn’t I was Captain America or there was no Captain America. There was another option.”  

 Eventually the party goers wandered out and only the team was left. Steve smiled as he held his hand out for Y/n, leading her to the dance floor where they lost themselves in each other, swaying to the soft music.

“Aww yay.”

“He looks so happy.”

“Uggh. Can we toast our Steve?”

“Yes.”

“To Steve Rogers.”

“And his future.”

The Fab Five raised their glasses.

G.C.F in Tokyo

I still remember when i first watched gcf in tokyo. I had clicked on the notification not knowing what to expect and the minute the vid started i just had this feeling that crept into my chest and gut. Like.. at first i was like oooh jk's editing yasss ok woo holiday vlog, this is gonna show so much of jikook having fun and just being close as usual yay im ready. But then more of jimin started showing and i just had to pause it and take a breather.

It really hit me at that moment that what i was watching was something that jk was seeing through his eyes, how he was seeing the world, and more prominently, how he was seeing jimin. How jimin looked in his eyes, in his perspective. And boy i was not ready for what i saw. jimin in that gcf video looked... beautiful and goofy and warm and endearing and chic and handsome and funny and soft and comforting and so so human.. it felt so personal, like jk had just given me vr glasses to take a look through his eyes. And it made my stomach churn with so many emotions.

Throughout the whole time i watched that vid, there were only 2 things that kept running through my mind:

1. I'm seeing jimin through jk's eyes. He's trying to show me, show the world what he sees and what he sees is beautiful. What he sees is something that gives him happiness and warmth and comfort and giddiness. This is how he was experiencing tokyo, with jimin. This is how he experienced anywhere when he's with jimin.

2. Will i ever find someone who sees me the way jk sees jimin? I know this is a stupid thought lmao but i've always been skeptical about love when it comes to myself. I feel that finding someone who truly loves you for a long time is something rare, and finding a love like this, like how i felt when i watched this video, is even rarer. I'm glad they found each other.

Also, one of the moments that hit me the most was the part where the song goes "last year took a toll on me, but i made it with you next to me. Around the world and back again" as jk films jimin walking around as he follows behind. I kept thinking about how they had just finished part of their tour at that time, right? Jk mustve been having a hard time, but he had people around him that he could lean on. He had jimin to lean on.

And then the song goes "i hope you're waiting at the end." as he films jimin from the front, and jimin looks over jk's shoulder and beyond, like he's looking towards the end of the road they're on. And i was just like oooof you best believe this boy knows absolutely what he's doing when he edited these clips to fit the lyrics.

Lmao so yeah... I know its been a while since that vid dropped and i've watched it countless times but one thing is for sure. Every time i watch it, the feelings i get stay still the same. The adoration and elation and fondness and comfort, i feel it every time, no matter how many times i watch it.

We can never say for sure what they have with each other, what jk and jimin actually are to each other. But what i do know is that they are precious and important to each other, and that's all that matters.

Stealing things, things that are stolen

So, today, I listened to an episode of Reply All, where they talk about the origin of the phrase "YASSS." the podcaster makes his best attempt to describe where the term comes from, and how it permeated into straight culture. the problem with his description of this, even having watched paris is burning, even having talked to the father of the house of Xtravaganza, is the dichotomous script with which he describes queerness. Queerness, by its nature, is not a binary concept; and though it excludes, in his terms, "straight" people, there is so much more to it than how he describes it. He manages to nail out how "straight culture" had stolen the words "shade," "yass," and the concept of being "read"

But what he does not describe the intermediary steps of stealing and transference that occurred between Harlem ballrooms and 2019 twitter vernacular. He does not describe how this is often tied to whiteness, to passing, to privilege. About how that boy, in the gaga video, is a white cis gay man. About how the rest of the queer community, upon hearing white cis gay men yell "YAS QUEEN!" even back in 2015, made us shudder. It's not just that it has been appropriated by straight people.

It is that white people-- yes, including myself-- are stealing from communities of color. We are taking the words of their struggle out of their original context. And yes, of course, words and meaning change over time. BUT, this does not mean that we queer people, we white people, you straight/cis people, have no agency as autonomous individuals. *WE* get to decide how and when words are used. It is not something that happens *to* us--we have direct control over whether or not it happens in the first place.

And so, though this podcaster makes a valiant effort to create visibility for something that deserves to be known, in doing this, he erases it. He acknowledges the fact that harlem balls were spaces for queer black and latinx people to gather, BUT he does not explain why that qualifier is important. That "shade" is not the only concept that we (yes, i mean we white people) have stolen from black and latinx people-- or from any other community, for that matter. The terms "wig," "sis," "snatched,". . . This list goes on forever, both vertically and horizontally. What I mean by that is: all the layers of culture I interact with contain their own subgenres of vernacular, and much of this vernacular has been taken from people of color, often *queer* people of color.

But that is just contemporary vernacular. This transmission of vernacular has been occurring as long as Amerika has existed. And it has continued to occur without resistance because the privileged-- often *white* privilege specifically--have silenced those who oppose this appropriation of language. And yes, appropriation is a loaded word. But I mean this in its truest sense: words like wig, tea, sis, yas.... have been stripped of their original context. White people can take the word and the dynamism it adds,and skip the institutional, interpersonal, and intergenerational repression that cultivated a need to create a language that would not be understood by the privileged.

So. The podcaster gets at the first layer, yes, which is that all queer people are deeply uncomfortable when straight people use "yass," "queen," or even words we no longer use that are unmistakably queer in origin. But he misses the second and third layers of this. The second layer being the whiteness factor, I think. That white queers stole this language and styled it as their own. Often getting credit for it simply because queers of color are marginalized in our society, but also because these communities try to stay off of people's radar. So that they will not be bothered, so that they can talk to each other using a code that only they understand, words only they know the meaning of, so that people will not hurt them for being who they are:so that they can, in some ways, pass. 

Which brings me to the third layer. This language was stolen from trans people of color. Trans women of color most often, because societal pressures displaced trans women at a much higher rate than trans men because-- well, good old misogyny. The fact that this is not just a question of queerness writ-large, but of *gender* queerness, goes all but unseen in this podcast. The father of House Xtravaganza does mention a woman who he says has just undergone "a sex change," but even this seems to miss the mark. Because part of what is celebrated in ballroom culture is destroying the concept of gender. Not just celebrating those who have translated themselves from one end of the binary to the other, but literally any gender, genre, or presentation one chose to dress up for. Yes, there were categories for "realness," and there is much to be explored in what passing means in trans culture, but to ignore everything else is to continue to erase what it is to be trans.

And so while I can recognize how important it is that people who know fuck-all about queer culture get this education, I almost cannot recommend this episode (why I have not named the number/title). Because, it almost entirely misses what is important about his findings. It's great that he got to the bottom of it, at least as far as he has engaged with this subculture so far. You have to start somewhere. But he does not address the fact that this happens all. the. time. He talks about being straight, but does not get to the deeper implication: that being straight puts him in a position of privilege. And that privilege produces ignorance. Period. It is difficult to be aware of something you are not a part of. One has to intentionally break out of their own circumstances to begin to understand other ways of living.

So while I admire the podcaster for doing this, for trying to unpack how his straightness related to his ignorance of the history and context of "yass", for setting a better example, he does not address the crux of *why* he had to do that.

I'm not sure how to end this, other than that much of our language and the way we interact with each other is the product of things stolen from others. I defer to my freshman year professor, who admonished all students using "big words" they didn't know the meaning of. He said to us something to the tune of: if you're going to drop a word like "pernicious" into your papers, you better have read many definitions of it. But not just that, you have to read it in its appropriate contexts, to see the word in-situ. And while he might have been describing words more like "disestablishmentarianism," "maudlin," or the term "categorical imperative," why not apply this to the words we use every day? We are not hurt by being more informed about the language we use. If you would feel embarrassed by misusing the word lackadaisical, why shouldn't a white person be embarrassed about using the term "wig"? There is no way for a white person to really understand or relate to the context of wig-- a rant for another time, but suffice to say, there are infinitely more cases of misuse than of proper usage. So to top it all off: please take from this a message about examining privilege. Examining your language, and the way you choose to wield it, and in what contexts.

It matters. It matters that podcasters go and investigate the terms they read online and that in doing so, they do not erase the very thing that they seek to highlight. Especially at a point in society where it is so easy for words/phrases, and even MEMES to be taken from their original niches and disseminated all the way out to grandma Carol out in Appalachia. Word travels fast. But that shouldn't stop you from anticipating this, from understanding where that language traveled *from", and where it will travel to as a result of *your* usage.

It’s kinda weird that the usual ‘main team’ has barely been seen this whole ep-- and even then, mostly only through brief video calls or over the comms. And Reade wasn’t even heard from at all during the actual bomb disarming. Honestly though…. I’m kinda down with that. As much as I love the others, we all know Rich and Patterson are my Dream Team lol

Zapata-- yep there’s Zapata, jogging slowly away from her problems as usual lol. Seriously though what is she doing being apprenticed to a literal evil witch EXPLAIN GERO. Ugh I feel so bad for her but a little bit ‘serves you right’ at the same time. Though lbr I just want her to come homeeeee

Weller-- I feel like this dude has been on the edge of tears for like a year. Poor guy. But omg does he make a cuuuute Jackson Pollock lol. I love him being all serious and sarcastic towards Madeline while literally covered in paint and feathers. I feel like the real mystery of this ep is HOW DOES IT MAKE HIM HOTTER. Someone please explain. Also oooh he cannot be happy about being stuck in the station while ‘Jane’ is zooming away on a doomed train. ALSO SPEAKING OF WHICH, dude the bomb is on one of the lines past the apartment I lived in back in September. I got off at that station multiple times aaaahhhhhh this is so cool. Ugh now he’s back at the apartment crying over Jane again ahah. Seems like all the poor dude does these days is hug her and cry. But wait, maybe not! Remi-- I feel like she actually feels a tiny bit bad that she made Weller cry?? Lol girl’s supposed to be killing him and she has a hard time even seeing him cry. Lbr she’s gonna fall for him despite herself, his mix of badass agent and suburban dad is apparently just irresistible to any iteration of her being lol. Tbh I loved the sequence of her disarming the bomb over the comms-- in most eps we would be with her and Weller and Reade out in the field and only hearing the home team over the comms, I loved seeing this turnabout. Also ugh she nearly lashes out at Weller when he lifts her hand bc she’s such an abused little puppy that she doesn’t know anything but coldness or punishment and I think she was startled and secretly pleased to be greeted with cheers and hailed as a hero. Ugh Remi honey you’re gonna grow to love it here. “... right under our noses, putting on a friendly face, pretending to be the hero” I guess she’s seeing some similarities between herself and Madeline lol. And then oooh on the couch, Roman’s like the devil on the shoulder trying to pull her back into the deep shadows of the dark side and then Weller appears and shines all his love and support all over her and Roman disappears for a moment. I see what you’re doing here Gero…. Also lol Remi must be surprised at how easily she can make Weller cry haha

Patterson-- okay firstly, how dare some guy make out with my baby and not know her name. Also, I just have mixed feelings about the making out in general but I am all about supporting my precious queen. THen I was like ‘pfft she won’t say her name’ and then SHE SAID HER NAME AND I SCREAMED and then it hit me that she was almost definitely undercover and I was like ‘oh a fake name of course, shit Gero you got me well done’ and then turns out it wasn’t an op but a whole different kind of ‘undercovers’ hahahahaha. Well good on you girl I support you and all your choices. BUT WAS IT A FAKE NAME OR NO??? Omg okay yes it was, thanks for the heart attack Gero. Rich-- how was him being like ‘Hey guys here’s the terrorist’s address okay be careful bye’ one of the funniest things he’s ever done??? I stg whoever writes Rich needs to be my new best friend. Though tbh he does actually seem almost a touch subdued in this first scene, without that usual devilish gleam in his eyes… maybe he’s trying to show he can be both useful AND mature so they don’t actually decide to replace him with Boston haha. “I didn’t say magic, I’m not seven, I said magical cures’ hahahaha my baby. And he’s so excited to brief the recruits ugh. And then omg “sounds like the greatest takedown in FBI history I’m so sorry I missed it” aren’t we all, buddy lol. Also ugh him and his little recruit ducklings LET ME DIE. “There’s a bomber! I wondered if that would ever come out. And omg he’s Patterson’s hookup’s uncle THIS EP IS RIDICULOUS AND I LOVE IT. Also oh no “What am I saying, special treatment’s fine” was hilarious, like uh oh no way am I starting to love Weitz??? I am having feelings about a Patterson/Rich/Weitz dream team haha. “Might be our only shot at [Madeline], so it is unfortunate that you look like that” how does this show do so many characters with their own distinctive styles of sass I love it so much. Review Roundup - February 2018 Week 1

Hello, my loves!! My name is Jace (aka Felicity B), and this is your Review Roundup for Week 1 of February 2018!!

So... Last Friday, I mentioned making some changes to my Review Roundup format. The reasoning being that as I've expanded my network of Korean music channels, It's become very clear to me that it's too difficult for me to write a substantial review of 25+ videos every week without each review mixing into the last. I've also come to realize that I can't include *every* song I find that happens to be in Korean, and that's fine!! Most songs are either ballads or OST ballads (which are even worse), and it's just not worth my time to flog those at you guys.

So, I'm gonna try to explain this to y'all as best as I can. It sounds more complicated than it is in practice, but I wanna give y'all an idea of what's going on.

I'm gonna present to you all the playlist of songs for the week. From there, you'll see a new segment called the Titacular Ten. Yes, I am aware "titacular" is not a word, but catch me not givin' a fuck in these streets. These guys are songs I enjoyed, but didn't like enough to put in the Fabulous Five. They'll be rated (*not* reviewed) according to my replayability scale.

And speaking of my rating scale, I've decided to add a new category called KoKoNotABop (because nothing brings me joy more than pissing off the stans of my favorite K-Pop group). This sits in between Conditional Replay and Trash Bomb with Shuffle Bait. I decided to add KoKoNotABop, because there wasn't really anything for those songs that weren't complete Trash Bombs, but fell short. I could enjoy these songs from time to time, but I wouldn't intentionally put them in a playlist, so I didn't want to call them Shuffle Bait. In short, I just wanted to expand the range of my extraness.

Moving on, you'll see the Honorable Mentions/Trash Bombs of the week after the Titacular Ten. The Honorable Mentions are tracks that didn't make it into the week's Fab Five, but I still wanted to speak on. And if you've seen my previous RRUs, you know what Trash Bombs are.

I haven't had to rated many songs as Trash Bombs, but that should be considered a small mercy. Y'all know how I get when I don't like a song

If you guys can believe it, this was the type of song I loved during my J-Pop days. Oh boy, does this take me back.

And yes, I do realize this song is literally a decade old. There are idols active in the industry that this song is older than. But I'm gonna need y'all to bring me some freshly prepared fucks to care.

The children deserve to know about No Brain!!

Crush On Me (sorry, that title is too long to be typing over and over) is a punk track that is fun, personified. Every time I queue up the song to play, I just wanna dance the night away~ have my own little party, dancing and singing along. And don't think that you can get away from this song unscathed, cause the hook (neon naege banhaesseo) will stick itself in your brain and torment you till you're singing along like a good little Baby Borgie.

No Brain is a band that I want every single NuGen K-Pop (2014/2015) fan to get into. Every single one of you. Cause while this band is hella talented (they've literally been in the game for twenty years), they don't write music to show it off. They write music because they fucking love it. And that's the best kind, sis. I could clock this song for a lot of things I'd clock a modern K-Pop song for, but I won't because this song is entirely too fun to be picked apart like a science experiment.

My main reason for including Crush On You was that I love how fun this song is, BUT!! I also wanted an excuse to include No Brain's collab stage with Lovelyz from the 2017 MBC Year End Song Festival.

Now *that* was a oollab stage, ladies.

No Gravity (Yoon Mi Rae)

Yoon MiRae is the OG Korean Female Rapper.

That's not my bias speaking (although it's definitely showing), I've never heard anyone speak ill of Mirae. NEVAH!! And I mean, why would they want to!?!?! She's magical. I literally can't say enough nice things about her.

I literally zone in on her and don't pay anyone else any mind when she's in a song. Whenever she's gracious enough to give us a solo, my wigs bow in reverence to her. I just love this woman so much. She can do no wrong in my book.

Gravity is a pre-release track from Mirae's upcoming Korean album. We have no word on what it's called or when it's dropping, but I already know it's amazing. Gravity is a midtempo rap ballad, and I usually find these cheesy af, but I really like Mirae's take on it. For those of you who've been YMR stans for a while, the vocals are arranged in Mirae's typical fashion - hard hitting rap verses, brackted in by Smoove™ vocals.

Yes, Mirae is the one who has your rap fave givin' Soulful Vocals™.

Gravity is just so nice, you guys. I don't know what it is about these Korean acts dropping really hopeful and healing tracks this year, but I want it to continue. These types of midtempos are usually reserved for Bad Days™, but I lowkey wanna listen to Gravity all the time. There's enough groove that it doesn't drag my mood down if I'm feelin' good, but at the same time, the uplifting vibe is great for everything kinda sucks.

Off Topic, but if y'all haven't heard Mirae's Black Happiness, I urge you!! It's S U C H a good song!! That's a song that's for the worst of days, sis.

Free Somebody (Luna of f(x) x HEDA)

I really do not understand what the point of this release was. Can someone from SM DM me on Twitter and explain. Cause sis, this shit made no sense to me.

Firstly, congratulations to Ms HEDA are in order!! If you weren't aware (like me), everysing (a Korean karaoke company) and Genie Music (SM Entertainment's distributor) ran a contest called Battle Singer to select a new feature vocalist for an upcoming Station release. Why SM didn't give her her own Station track, I'm not sure, but I rather liked the way she sounded here. So, I can't be too mad.

Wha I *am* mad at, however, is why SM decided to have Luna and HEDA do karaoke on one of the unused sets of Younha's Parade video, and releasing that shit as a single. Y'all couldn't call in nobody to produce these vocals?!?!?! Every single one of y'all vocal producers were busy?!?!?!

K...

I'm just so over SMSTATION releases varying in quality and effort spent. Some weeks, SM puts in the time and effort to rock that shit out, but then we also get lazy as fuck all releases like these. And I get it, there was a contest attached to this and we don't know if SM is gonna pull Ms HEDA back in for a round 2. I'm hoping they do, but SM is fickle. I just wish this release was up to the standard as Luna and Amber's Lower. Some of y'all thought that song was dry af, but at least the video was dynamic.

The Fabulous Five

5. Mystery (Jalhyejun)

Mystery sounds like Lim Kim and Neon Bunny decided to team up for a song. They didn't, but if they ever did, I'd need at least three albums worth of material from it.

Mystery is a very cutesy synthrock song. It lowkey reminds me of something Puffy AmiYumi would do 2003/2004, but it mostly sounds like a bonus track on Neon Bunny's Seoulite. Not a bad thing; Puffy AmiYumi were literally my gateway into J-Pop fifteen years ago (I still listen to them), and Seoulite is one of the best Korean albums of 2011.

Mystery sounds like it belongs in a kids' show, and that's exactly why I like it. It's not anything crazy energetic, but it's really fun and every time I listen to it, it puts the biggest smile on my face. And because it isn't super in your face, you could also use it very peppy background music.

We love a versatile queen, sis.

4. To Do List (Kim Hyorin)

Okay, sis... I was a lil nervous when I heard the teasers for this. Too many of my faves been droppin' ballads as digital singles, and then disappearing into the ether. Hyorin is my girl, but I will *always* put the music first.

Fortunately,I had nothing to worry about; Hyorin did with To Do List what Henry couldn't do with Monster. Give me an engaging ballad.

Hyorin's To Do List is the same flavor of stripped back ballad as Henry's Monster; it's just Hyorin's sweet vocals layered over a clean electric guitar. It's just that she can emote with her voice and is an overall better vocalist.

I'm finding that I really enjoying this style of ballad. There's just an unexpected element to having a song be just electric guitar and vocals, ya know?!?! Like I mentioned above, I was very unsure about Hyorin making her solo debut under her own agency with a song like this, but I can see why she did it. Ballads do stupidly well in Korea, so Hyorin was catering to that market. BUT ALSO!! There's enough spunk here to keep the more adventurous crowd happy.

Of course, Hyorin could also sing me the dictionary, and I'd be like, "YASSS KWEEN!! BUILD THE CHILDREN'S VOCABULARY!! TAKE EVERY SINGLE OF MY WIGS, GODDESS!!".

So what do I know?!?!

3. Unstoppable (The Night Of Seokyo x Minju)

I normally don't include covers on this list, and I definitely wouldn't put them in the Fab Five. But y'all, this fucking cover. I really wish they covered the entire song, because it's fucking M A G I C A L

Which only makes sense, because the original is even more magical, but still...

Minju and the Night of Seokyo's Unstoppable is a cover of Lianne La Havas's 2015 song Unstoppable. I have no idea why I don't know this song or artist, because they're both magical. I already said Unstoppable was magical, but I'm gonna say it again!! This song is so good!! Can I live in the feeling this song creates?!?! I'd enjoy that a lot, sis. It's just so calm and healing, and I need that to be my energy for all of 2018.

And Ms Lianne, y'all. My wig toppled off my head the first 30 seconds of the song, because ma'am looks like a Black goddess. Can I be her when I grow up?!?!?! She looks so cool, and her music is just so nice. God, I love just Black women, you guys. They're so amazing, and they never get credit for always being ahead of the curve (as mentioned in my Nega Dola review). But I love Black women. I wouldn't be who I am today without Black women. None of us would. And I think it's time that we acknowledge that!!

So now that I've gotten that out of my system (we are unapologetically stanning Black women in 2018 and beyond, sis), let's discuss the Night of Seokyo and Minju's cover of Unstoppable. Absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking. I felt like I was floating. I usually don't care for covers, because 90% of them fall into two categories - a) indistinct from the original because they do everything the original does and b) complete and total trash because they did Too Much™ when reinterpretting it. But Minju and the Night of Seokyo strike the perfect balance - the rearrangement for piano and vocal does Just Enough™ to stand out on it's own without feeling like it's fucked up the vibe of the song.

I really should have just done a standalone review of this cover, since I *clearly* have so much so say on it, but it's just so good. A very big thank you to my girl sunnysidae who found the original version for Unstoppable for me. You're the best, sis!!

2. Baby Funk (Yoo Naul of Brown Eyed Soul)

Y'all.

Everything about this song n video is so Black!! I'm Shook™!!

I don't know Brown Eyed Soul that well, so I really thought Naul was the Black dude in the video. Thought BES had a whole ass (well, half ass) nigga in the group!!

Baby Funk's name is a little misleading - the only thing Funky about her is that guitar line (and the beatswitch that happens towards the end). But that's fine!! We love a good throwback to the Soul tracks of the '90s!!

I really don't know what to say, but tbh I really shouldn't have to - y'all *know* I L I V E for a good RnB/Soul track. And Baby Funk definitely delivers, babies!! I'm not gonna lie, the video did put me a off little, at first; I can't help but be suspect of the dynamic here. But you know, I'm just gonna receive this blessing, and keep it pushing. Naul made a love letter to Black culture with Baby Funk, and I Appreciate™.

1. Blind (Planetarium Records)

One of these days, I'm gonna need to learn these dudes' names. Especially since they refuse to stop terrorizing my wig collection with their group albums.

Sidenote - whoever decided to bait n switch my Black ass with them teasers, ya mama's a heaux. And I expect a full version of T.M.N.T with vocals on Case#3!! That shit is too good to just be an intro!!

*ahem*

When I first saw the teasers for Planetarium's CASE#1, I didn't think much of it. I thought they were an EDM label, number 1. And number 2, teasers didn't really give me anything to be excited about. But they blasted onto the scene with Blah, which had me eatin' my words a lil. I didn't include ha in my Fab Five for that week, but I was definitely paying attention to them Planetarium boys. And then came a live video of Glue (which I did put in my Fab Five), and now Blind.

Blind is a very clear 180 from the very fun, very tropical themed Blah. But catch these niggas drivin' off into the sunset with my wig, because I am B A L D T.

Blind is an intense synthpop track with a slight RnB tilt. Which is to be expect, because Planetarium is an RnB/Hip Hop label. But guys, this song is just S O G O O D. If every idol boy band in K-Pop *has* to do overly series tracks because They're Super Serious Boys Who Very Serious All The Time Seriously™, I'm gonna need them deliver tracks on this level.

Show me you have soul, not that you have abs. I've seen enough shirt lifts to last me a lifetime, kids.

I know what you mean, it’s more important to be yourself than to be a “man”. I’m a guy but I wear a lot of pink, love to cook, and I really love cute things. When I was a kid I thought I wanted to be a girl because I didn’t understand I could be a guy and like this kind of stuff. I don’t talk about this much either, but I’ve always thought about if I might just be bi or not. I honestly still think that too. And man you can be whatever you want to be without having to label anything, I think a lot of labels people put on themselves can be silly. Just be who/want you want to be as long as it doesn’t harm yourself or others tbh. But yeah I only thought that because of how warped “man” stuff is. Like I’d have no problem being bi lol, but it sucks that I had to think just because I don’t do this like other guys that I might just be weird or something. I honestly think that’s part of the reason I had toxic thoughts before.

I’ve felt so much better being myself, like I’m REALLY weird and I embrace it more nowadays. I’ve always been random and stuff on my blog? But I’d never talk about my interests and passions. I guess because I was just only talking about anime and video games? But not watching anime recently has actually made me look more into myself recently. Rather than just sitting here brainlessly. Also not talking about yourself is fine but I’m the type just likes to see people’s inputs, and I guess attention lmao. It’s good to have positive vents about your life too, not everything has to be negative. Just ask any of my friends, but it makes me feel happy to not be fake. legit i was watching a video back of their adore u performance and i was like “how did i miss that part???” (the second verse where they carry vernon off) and then i saw wonwoo on the far right of the stage and i was like lol oh

if mingyu/wonwoo were within my line of sight i stared at them for sure

Awards season is among us!

The 25th Annual Critics' Choice Awards went down at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica so the BFCA can honor the finest in cinematic achievement. A few YBF folks scooped up awards this year, including Jharrel Jerome, Ava DuVernay, Regina King and Eddie Murphy.

“When They See Us” star Jharrel Jerome, who played Korey Wise in the Netflix docu-series, won the Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television Award.

"This is for the Exonerated Five [formerly the Central Park 5], no matter what," Jharrel said while accepting his first-ever Critics' Choice award. "This is for Korey Wise, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson."

The 22-year-old actor - who rocked a LouisVuitton jacket - went on to thank his family and gave a special shout-out to “When They See Us” director Ava DuVernay.

After being snubbed for Golden Globes nominations, Ava’s “When They See Us” won the Best Limited Series Award and the fab directress delivered a powerful speech.

“We made a four-part, five-hour film that was an act of love,” Ava said before thanking everyone who made the project possible. The SELMA director - who wore a Michael Cinco gown - also thanked Netflix for letting a “black woman do her things.” Yasss!

  Bomb actress Regina King couldn't make it to the awards show because she's currently directing her first feature film, One Night in Miami. However, when she learned she won the Best Actress in a Drama Series Award for her role in "Watchmen," she posted a video on Twitter to say thanks!

Eddie Murphy skipped the red carpet, but hit the stage to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Critic's Choice Awards

“To make your living making people laugh is the highest blessing on Earth,” the 58-year-old actor said. He noted he has been in the acting game, making folks laugh for almost 40 years.

“I’ve played everything: a cop, a robber, a doctor, different ethnicities, animals,” he said while laughing. “I’ve been a donkey. I’ve even played a spaceship once. When young actors come up to me on the streets and say, ‘Do you have any advice?’, I say, ‘never play a spaceship.’”

Zendaya went braless for the awards show. The “Euphoria” star sashayed down the blue carpet in a fuchsia Tom Ford chromed breastplate with a matching evening skirt. Sis twirled down the carpet, swinging her long box braids.

US star Lupita Nyong’o – who is a Lancome ambassador like Zendaya – looked like a goddess when she hit the carpet in a chocolate brown Michael Kors Collection gown. And if we’re not mistaken, we believe this is the first time she has worn brown on a carpet. She usually goes for bold colors, but we’re not at all mad at this look.

The “Claws” actress kept it classy in this blue iridescent Tadashi Shoji Resort 2020 gown that featured a slit. She'll be starring in the upcoming LIFETIME film, The Kamiyah Mobley Story, set to premiere January 18th.

Y'all know EMMY winner Billy Porter loves to make a statement on a carpet. And this awards show was no different.

After wowing everyone in his tuxedo dress at the 2019 Academy Awards and working his pro-life "uterus" gown at the 2019 Tony Awards, the "POSE" actor opted to wear a jumpsuit for the Critics' Choice Awards.

Covered in butterfly body art, Billy hit the carpet in a two-tone green Hogan McLaughlin jumpsuit paired with white Coach 1941 turbo boots. Are we feelin' it?

"POSE" actor MJ Rodriguez - who made the 2019 TIME 100 list - worked this sparkly Moschino number on the carpet.  MJ was nominated in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category.

Nominee Cynthia Erivo – who was up for Best Actress for her role in HARRIET – floated inside the ceremony wearing a marble mosaic print Fendi couture gown, which she accessorized with glitzy David Webb drop earrings.

HARRIET's "Stand Up" track was also nominated for Best Song.

Dapper! "This Is Us" actor Sterling K. Brown - who was up for Best Actor in a Drama Series -looked sharp as hell in his tailored suit.

His wife/actress Ryan Michelle Bathe didn't disappoint either. "The First Wives Club" actress showed love to black designer Sergio Hudson, a native to her home state of South Carolina.

After coming out of the rock he’s been living in, Cozz emerges in 2018 with a lot of new music. First he announced a new album, Effected, and then released its lead single, “Questions.” Now he’s teamed up with Curren$y for the smooth-jazzy “Badu.” Listen above, and stay plugged for more from.

We got new music from Wolftyla, OnCue, Joey Bada$$ x Dessy Hinds, Syd x Leven Kali, and Black Milk.

Lloyd Banks continues on with his At Your Request series with another fire freestyle.

A new band is amongst us! Lyricist Common, pianist Robert Glasper, and drummer Karriem Riggins form August Greene. And first act as August Greene is to release music of course. Listen to their first single, “Optimistic,” featuring guest vocals from Brandy.

Oh and then…yes there’s more…we had new music from Step Brother (Alchemist and Evidence), Chris Dave x Anderson .Paak, and Pollári.

We heard from the likes of Nino Man and Jadakiss…yes, again Nino Man and Jadakiss. I know, they just released “I Hate You", but check it, they got some new heat for us with “From Trap to Rap.” Mmm, what are these two up to?

And then we heard from Dreezy x 2 Chainz, Russ, Fat Joe x Dre, and Rudimental teamed up with Macklemore, Jess Glynne and Dan Caplen.

Despite all the drama with his Generation Now label, Lil Uzi Vert is still releasing new music. Check out his new single, “200 My Dash.”

After making a surprise announcement, 38 Spesh and Benny the Butcher have teamed up with Jadakiss and Styles P for “Driver’s Seat.”

Remy Ma teams up with Chris Brown with what may be the leading single for her next album, “Melanin Magic.” We also got new music from hubby, Papoose. Definitely take a listen to him “Set Trippin” all over the previously owned by Casanova track. Looks like we’re getting two new projects from the love birds.

Visuals

After releasing Paranoia 2, Dave East reverts back to its predecessor, Paranoia, for his newest visual. He released a short film for joint track with Mass Appeal boss, Nas, titled “The Hated.” My favorite track off of the mixtape, it’s great to see East go beyond just the usual music video treatment. And the guy hasn’t even released a debut album yet - well, damn. Watch the Kid Art-directed video above, it’s gritty and raw as is the track itself. A must watch, check it out. With Victory Lap right around the corner, Nipsey Hussle gave us a second offering featuring YG. He followed up the release of the single with a visual, check out “Last Time That I Checc’d." 

Tinashe is back! Teaming up with Offset for her new single, and visual, “No Drama."

After riding that “Unforgettable” wave, here’s French Montana with a visual for another track from Jungle Rules.

Young Thug dropped new video with Trouble and Shad Da God in tribute for “MLK.” 

Young M.A dropped a visual for her freestyle over Gucci Mane and Migos’ “I Get The Bag.”

Famous Dex teamed up with A$AP Rocky back in October and now they have released a visual for their joint track, “Pick It Up."

Right before the release of November, SiR releases the album’s leading single, “Summer in November," along with a visual treatment.

Back in 2016, Lin-Manuel Miranda had a wildly successful run with his broadway musical Hamilton. He also released a mixtape that followed up the musical. Now he's back with HamilDrops, a new series where Miranda will be releasing visuals from the mixtape on a monthly basis. First he dropped “Ben Franklin’s Song,” now he’s here with a visual treatment for the track “Wrote My Way Out,” which features Nas, Dave East, and Aloe Blacc.

Over the weekend, SiR dropped his debut album, November. Right before it’s release he dropped the album’s first single. Pick your poison above, definitely a must listen.

Dave East’s Paranoia 2 is here! The 15-track project features the likes of Matt Patterson, Marsha Ambrosius, Lloyd Banks, T.I., Tory Lanez, Pimp Pimp P, and Nino Rideaux. Available on iTunes, stream via Spotify and Apple Music.

Kollision dropped his debut tape this past week. The ATL-native recruited the likes of Twisted Genius, D. Hill, OG Parker and more on the production tip. Better Than Yesterday dives in deeper into his own world. Worth a listen, check it out via SoundCloud.

Keep an eye out for Audio Push’s new project, Cloud 909. It’s slated to release February 9th, and scroll up for its leading single. Pre-order available via iTunes. After dropping The Wild last year, Raekwon took to Instagram to confirm a new album is officially on the way. 

While it’s been a long time coming, the collab project from DJ Premier and Royce da 5’9 is coming soon. When the duo comes together, they are known as PRHYME, and rumor has it that the sequel to their self-titled debut is set to release March 16th. That’s hope this time it comes out. 

While we still wait on SremmLife 3, Swae Lee still plans on dropping a solo joint. After some success with featuring on hit singles last year, he has spoke about Swaecation. It did fuel rumors of the duo splitting up, but they put those to rest. No, this is just Swae riding the solo wave for just a bit. While we have no official date for both project, just “soon,” now Swae announced that Swaecation will be out for the masses in “less than a month, confirmed.” So stay plugged. 

August Greene are gearing up to release their debut self-titled album on March 9th. It will be an Amazon Music exclusive drop. Scroll up to hear their first single and to find out who August Greene is. 

38 Spesh took to Instagram to make a surprise announcement that he and Benny the Butcher have a joint project on the way. Stabbed & Shot is slated to drop February 16th, scroll up to catch the first single released. 

After four years since his last solo project, If There’s A Hell Below, Black Milk is back in 2018 with new music on the way. He took to Instagram to announce a new album is on the way, titled FEVER. Set to release February 23rd, scroll up for the album’s first single.

Joey Badass started 2018 with some major news. Along with announcing that we’ll be hearing more from the Pro Era clan, as well as a sneaker, he also revealed that his debut project, 1999, has now become available everywhere to stream. Let’s not forget that his TIDAL podcast, “47 Minutes,” is on the way, and he has also become PONY’s creative director. Now has officially become a platinum-selling artist with his hit “Devastated.” Quick timeline for the single: Released May 2016, hit Gold January 2017 and now platinum in January 2018. A joint project with XXXTentacion has been teased. Stay plugged, the year is just beginning and Joey is too. 

Black Panther, where the hell do I start. I was originally excited to see the movie, but um…can we talk about this soundtrack though?! Once confirmed that Kendrick Lamar and the TDE clan were recruited to piece together the album, we received its first offering from both Kendrick and label mate SZA. Then there was that new trailer for the movie that featured an untitled track from Kendrick and Vince Staples. And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for - literally. (Ha, can you tell I’m from Jersey yet?) It was pretty much confirmed through TDE’s MackWop’s Twitter that we are getting a track from Kendrick and Isaiah Rashad. Yasss, come through TDE! After taking over 2017, it’s pretty much safe to say they’ll be making a huge impact on 2018.

A biopic is underway for Gucci Mane, fueled by his autobiography he released back in September 2017. The same autobiography that made Gucci Mane a New York Times best-selling author. He took to Twitter to make the announcement. Stay plugged for more updates on Guwop. Not only is the film on the way, but The Evil Genius is on the way too.

From the underdog to top bitch, 2017 was Cardi B’s year. Breaking record after record, Cardi is on a streak that doesn’t seem to end any time soon. She recently teamed up with TIDAL and put out a documentary, I’m Here MuthaF*cka. A must watch, so don’t pass it up if you have TIDAL.

Big news for Future. While he wiped his Instagram clean, we all expect new music and it turns out we were right - well, sort of. It was announced that Director X will be taking on the remake of the 1972 cult-classic Superfly. Where does Future play in all of this? Well, Future is set to co-direct the film. Let’s not forget that he will be curating the soundtrack along with Joel Silver. Yes, new music indeed. It was also revealed that 21 Savage plays some role with the film, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Director X took to Instagram to make the announcement revealing some of the cast and crew. So far we know that Grown-ish star Trevor Jackson will be playing the part of Youngblood Priest. Jason Mitchell, who played Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton, will be playing the part of Eddie.
