Thereâs a new drug in Gotham making the rounds, one synthesized by Two-Faceâs people; if you take it you will have a 50/50 chance that youâll experience the greatest high of your life or that youâll die.
Batman is desperately trying to find the main lab and cut off the production from the source and hasnât been able to find a lead in weeks.
Thatâs when Gordon gives him a file that was given to him by a âwhite haired ghost kidâ. Itâs a detailed report written similarly to a scientific journal with detailed sources that are mainly first hand accounts from deceased victims of the Two-Face drug.
At the very end of the paper thereâs an address to a Gotham University dorm room with a sticky note next to it that says âif you need help with death or the undead. Yours truly; Danny Fenton.â

Somehow the whole âbaby ghostâ thing gets out about Phantom, and suddenly tons of people are trying to treat him like a little kid.
And Danny fucking hates it.
Heâs a teenager! As far as heâs concerned, that means heâs basically almost an adult!
If people donât stop looking down on him and denying his autonomy, he might just end up killing someone. Maybe then theyâd finally fucking listen.

Oh man okay but-
But this is the Wayne family, right? and I know you probably meant an actual burger but my mind first went to "they bought the rights to open a Nasty Burger so now there's one in Gotham relatively nearby and I just-
I'm just imagining this is post-TUE. Like. Clockwork didn't undo Danny's failure to save them but he refuses to go with Vlad. But before he goes full nuclear (running away to the GZ forever) he just like. Demands blood tests. If Aunt Alicia can't or won't take him there has to be someone else who he's at least vaguely related to that would take him in.
Normally they'd just go with his parents' will but the person on his case is from Amity and thus aware that Danny and Vlad have major beef. And Danny is desperate. Like begging on his knees threatening to run away never to be seen again even it he has to take the phrase "go to ground" literally to not be caught (and Danny just means phasing through the dirt to the other side of the planet but the caseworker takes it as a suicide threat so now everyone involved in his case is absolutely tiptoeing and Very Against sending him with Vlad because what the hell did the guy DO to make a kid who just lost his everything unwilling to turn to someone at least familiar. To make it so he'd rather go with a stranger???)
Turns out he does have a relative - Tim Drake is his second cousin. Currently in the care of Bruce Wayne. He's not technically related to Wayne but given the guy's habit of taking in kids and Danny's horrible panic around going with Vlad they figure it's worth a shot. Plus Bruce might be the only one who could handle whatever legal battle Vlad might try to make of it.
That's how he ends up with the Waynes, desperately trying to be useful so don't throw him away and extra worried about it because Bruce isn't even really related to him and Tim's distant enough that they didn't know the other existed.
And when he says he misses Nasty Burger he's lost in thought, muttering it under his breath. But he misses Nasty Burger because he misses the afternoon's spent there with Sam and Tucker, or even the occasional family outings there when he and Jazz could convince their parents that, no, the hotdogs are too organized to deal with and they're all too tired let's get some food and sleep before we handle the revolt.
Danny misses Nasty Burger in the sense that he misses what was - but he's also traumatized about it.
And of course the Batfam would know his family died in a Nasty Burger, but everyone processes trauma differently.
It's entirely reasonable to think Danny might not have associated the disaster with the chain itself, but rather with just the sauce tank or maybe even just the explosion. The sauce is no longer permitted in the US, so the tanks wouldn't be there even if they were a part of the trauma.
And this is the first thing Danny has ever requested from them.
So they get a Nasty Burger up and running.
But when they go on a family outing-
When they pile out of the car-
When Danny finally takes in his surroundings, having spent the ride over staring at his knees and trying his best to be unobtrusive-
He curls into a tiny ball on the awful parking lot pavement and has a panic attack - only distantly aware that the Wayne's are panicking around him which honestly just makes it worse because oh no he's causing trouble what if this is what makes them throw him out - until he finally, mercifully passes out.
The new wayne sibling concerns his family danny the new sibling can get anything you just have to ask the thing is no one can figure out how like it started small like tim saying god I'd kill for [hyper specific coffee brand he got one time 2 years ago from a coffee shop on a mission] and the next day danny places the coffee down infront of tim
Now danny refuses to answer how or where he got it from but the others of course have to experiment and so they start experimenting like they mention more and more obscure until eventually damian asks for a legendary magical sword and danny doesn't doesn't have it in the the usual 2-3 days they think it's bust but Don't mention anything
(Can't exactly reveal you were doing experiments our new brother and taking advantage of him as well)
Until a week later daimian wakes to a gleaming sword of legends on his bed
Meanwhile danny who is freshly traumatised is going if i prove myself useful they won't throw me out right?
#dpxdc#panic attack tw#Danny is traumatized#the bats just want to help#if anyone mentioned they were going to Nasty Burger then Danny was Not paying attention#poor guy

I've seen the concept of Jason being adopted by various people other than Bruce while he was still a little tire stealing Crime Ally kid a few times, but I've yet to see anyone put forth the idea of Duke and his family taking him in.
Like, depending on the continuity Jason and Duke are only like 4 or 5 years apart in age, and we know for a fact that Duke was a terrifyingly brilliant kid already shaping up to be able to take down the Riddler in a battle of wits at the age of 9. Now throw in protective older brother Jason into that mix who didn't think twice about trying to steal the tires off the Batmobile and then try and hit Batman with a damn tire iron when he was caught.
Just imagine how terrifying it would be with the two of them growing up constantly feeding each other's unhinged Fight God and the Devil in a Waffle House Parking Lot at 3am and Win energy. Imagine the chaos they would cause. The terror they would strike into the hearts of their enemies- all before Duke ever even gor his powers.
They would be unstoppable. Just a pair of two of the smartest motherfuckers you've ever met who know they're smarter than you, and the only thing sharper than their minds are their vicious verbal take downs.
Also I just have the imagine in my head of Doug Thomas, half asleep early one Saturday morning stumbling into the kitchen after following the smell of breakfast to see his 8 year old son happily stuffing the most delicious looking pancakes imaginable into his mouth. Blinking in confusion as he realizes it's not his beloved wife cooking but some scrawny kid in worn out clothes, covered in engine grease and bruises manning the stove like a seasoned line cook - complete with the most foul mouthed swearing even Doug, a construction worker, has ever heard in his life and a cigarette tucked behind the kids ear.
And Doug has a moment where he's just staring, full on Who's Goddamn White Baby is That? when Duke pipes up to explain:
"This is Jason! I caught him trying to steal your catalytic converter this morning. His mom's dead and his dad is a deadbeat so he's gonna stay with us now!"
And oh. Well. Shit. He knows that look in his son's eye. Knows he's already lost the fight before it evan began. It looks like it's theirs. It's their god damn white baby now.
He's gonna have to call Elaine.
(Elaine, for her part, goes through the full range of human emotions when she gets home to realize that the boy Duke has decided they're adopting is the Todd boy Elaine has been trying to track down for months now.
She's Jason's social worker, not that she's been able to really do her job and help him when he's managed to stay under the radar of every single vaguely responsible adult in a ten mile radius. The one time he had been picked up by one of the few decent cops in the city and Elaine thought she was going to be able to finally finally help him, Jason had managed to climb out of a window of the precinct bathroom and disappear into the night.
He'd managed to steal the hubcaps of six different patrol vehicles while he was at it. Just to rub it in that there was nothing they could do to stop him.
Point was, the kid has been her damn white whale for almost a year. And now she walks into her home after a maddening unhelpful phone call with Doug about needing paperwork to adopt a child only to find the boy she'd spent so long looking for teaching Duke how to take apart and reassemble their toaster in the living room.
She isn't sure if she wants to laugh or cry.
She is sure that there's no way she's going to be able to convince Duke that they can't just adopt his new friend, not when she can tell that both boys have already gotten attached to each other in the scarce few hours they've known one other. Or when her husband is just sitting there eating delicious pancakes with such resignation in his eyes.)
#jason todd#duke thomas#elaine thomas#doug thomas#batman au#the thomas family adopts jason AU#things would be so wildly different in this AU i'm not even sure where to begin#like i'm not sure that Joker would use Duke and his family as his stand ins for the Waynes to fuck with Batman since they'd be a family of 4#Duke would definitely still join the Robins and the Nest#but since Jason wasnât adopted by Bruce he wouldnât be Robin or die in this#or maybe he ends up meeting Bruce & becoming the second Robin anyway? with Duke figuring out what's going on and demanding to join?#Elaine definitely would have told Jason about Shelia and helped him deal with that info in a better way#love the idea of Elaine making Bruce attend the parenting classes she teaches once a week#and just the Thomas family being involved in the Bat stuff in general as like additional support#Elaine ia still a social worker but now she has a secknd job as the person who gets Bruce in line whenever he starts going off the rails#or acting like an asshole#just want more of the Thomas family yall#as like actual people and not just props for stories

Dark AU, Arkham patient! Jazz Fenton.
Sadly, Jazz Fenton is convinced that her brother Danny is still alive, that Phantom didn't kill him, that ghosts are actually sentient and not necessarily evil. Clearly she was brainwashed by Phantom who was pretending to be her brother.
The GIW graciously don't charge her with the crime of violating the anti-ecto act by protecting ghosts as a kindness to her parents who have done so much good work. She is sent to a mental hospital outside of Amity Park because they think she will recover better away from ghosts.
Well Arkham doesn't know what is about to hit it and Jazz is going to do whatever it takes to escape and save her brother.
#i think this could be well combined with arkham patient Jason and Jazz/Jason ship#Maybe Jason senses that Jazz is Important (ghost princess) and they team up to escape together#Jason is happy to have his murder urges turned on people who deserve it#you could take this two ways depending on your taste. Either the bats actually help and realize what is happening OR they are the antagonis#if Jason is there than probably they are antagonists. Even though he was treated okay there in the comics actually#but we can ignore canon for angst if we want#does this one exist yet? I have seen villain jazz and dark jazz but not this specifically#mostly i see AUs where she works at Arkham#some quick content warnings for implied:#psychiatric abuse#medical abuse#psych abuse#Although I am a bit tired of the use of medical abuse in Arkham in canon and fanon.#It would be neat to see it portrayed as a place that actually tries to help people.#Because in canon they do try to make it better!! So it would be interesting if Jazz wasn't abused in the typical way here#instead they ARE trying to help her but they are just WRONG about her 'illness'. It would make things more fucked up actually.#Like wouldn't it be MORE fucked up if she was treated well? If her parents were kind and supportive? Trying to help her 'recover'.#Imagine the Fentons bringing sweets books games to their 'sick' child. The only child they have left. They want her to 'get better'#Wouldn't that be like peak fucked up?#especially because she is a person who believes in psychology so much. yet it betrays her...#jazz fenton#danny phantom#dc x dp#dc x dp crossover#dc comics#dpxdc#dp x dc crossover#dp x dc prompt#batman#arkham asylum

(DCxDP) The obligations of a rogue versus those of a parent (Pt. 4)
â
Tw: descriptions of body horror, Dr. Crane has PTSD and Does Not Realize, Crane has an actual panic attack and just doesnât care, the Riddler makes one (1) sex joke about Batman
Will be crossposted to AO3 eventually
(Pt. 1 here) (Prev here) - (Pt. 5 here)
(Masterlist here)
â
Dr. Jonathan Crane is in his lab, the acrid scent of chemicals filling the air, and his hands are shaking.
Dannyâs health, for the first week that he had him, had been steadily improving at an extremely quick rate. However, his healing had begun to stagnate. Danny said that it was because his body had run out of ectoplasm, and that while there was a lot of ambient ectoplasm in Gotham, he needed a stronger type in order to heal.
And so, that led Dr. Crane here.
He had stolen the research notes from the Penguin years ago regarding his experimentation on him.
(He quite vividly remembers the sound of bone creaking and groaning as it twisted, lengthened. The squelching of shifting tendons and muscles, the strange fabric-like tightening of skin. The feeling of going from man to monster, of losing all claim to his humanity.)
Danny had called him Liminal, part ghost. He had said that he was transformed by, among other things, a kind of synthetic ectoplasm.
Danny needed ectoplasm.
Crane had the research notes. He had every ingredient necessary. And yet, attempt after attempt failed.
The chemical smell burns his nose. His hands tremble.
Dr. Crane is not afraid.
He doesnât feel fear anymore. Heâs tried to, many, many times, but nothing has worked. And yet, his hands are shaking still.
(The horrifying sensation of vertebrae pop-pop-popping along his spine, growing and lengthening. The unbearable itching beneath his skin as toxin glands begin to form. The feeling of his teeth sharpening and elongating, of his skull growing, of his vision changing and brightening. The awful stench of chemicals. The awful stench of ectoplasm.)
Jonathan takes careful note of his shaking hands, his blurring vision, his accelerated heart-rate and shallow breathing.
(Human hands. Human vision. Human heart and lungs and organs.)
He takes note of them, but he does not let that distract him from the task at hand. Danny is not a chemist, but Jonathan is.
The boy knows enough about chemistry in theory, but he wonât go anywhere near Craneâs equipment. He seems to have some sort of intense fear of laboratory settings, probably developed during his stay with the GiW, and Crane is willing to respect that, if only because he cannot afford to lose him.
As such, Crane is the only one qualified to do this. And, unfortunately, if he isnât successful the boy may very well die.
He heats the chemicals to precisely the right temperatures, adding each one to its correct container.
Dr. Crane thinks of the Scarebeast, that creature born of cruelty and greed and a sense of superiority. That creature which he tries to ignore is a part of him, that can never be removed. A damage which cannot be undone.
He pours the contents of a small beaker into a larger flask, watching the liquids swirl together. The stench in the air is becoming closer and closer to the one burned into his memory.
Craneâs whole body is wracked with unpleasant sensations. Itâs truly unfortunate, he thinks, that despite his mindâs lack of fear, his body still reacts so harshly.
Jonathanâs eyes wander, eventually settling on a purple and green card sitting innocently on the corner of the table.
Right.
Even if they wiped out the GiW tomorrow, and even if Danny could survive without ectoplasm, he would still be in danger.
Crane has to get him back to good health. Itâs the only way he can be sure that the boy can defend himself properly.
The solution in the flask begins to foam, and Jonathan does not hesitate as he adds the final ingredient. He pours the mixture into a new container, capping it and placing it into a freezer set to -40 degrees.
Hopefully this time he got the timing right.
Jonathan tries to relax, the ventilation in the room slowly but surely clearing the familiar smell from the air.
He thinks of the letter.
Surely, he thinks, that man can come up with some better material for his jokes. Or, at least something new.
Same old threats, same old attempted poisoning.
Aiming his threats at Danny, though, that was new. New and utterly unacceptable.
Scarecrow did what he had to.
He doubted that his solution would last forever, of course, as with that man it never did. As such, he would prepare both himself and Danny for the inevitable moment that his choices came back to bite them.
However, for the moment, they were safe. Danny could rest and recover, and Jonathan could figure out a plan to minimize possible damages.
Jonathan is no longer shaking.
Heâs exhausted. This is his fifth attempt today, and each one leaves an unfortunate strain on his mind and body.
With a sigh, he settles himself into his seat at a nearby desk, opening up his computer and logging his most recent attempt. He still has to wait for it to chill to know if it was successful, but he can always update the logs later.
Once heâs done, he stretches, joints popping loudly as he walks to the freezer.
When he sees the results of his tireless work, the ghost of a smile flits across his face.
Success.
Jonathan picks up the jug of ectoplasm and leaves the lab, which is in all actuality the basement of the new apartment that he moved himself and Danny into after receiving the note. The scrappy old woman who was his landlord had told him that as long as he paid her five hundred dollars up front, she would let him set up in the basement without any questions or cop calls.
And so, the most expensive apartment in the Narrows was his.
At least, he thought, the distance between the basement and the apartment was short enough that Danny didnât have to sit in while he was doing his labwork.
Jonathan knew that he didnât exactly have a strong grasp on the concept of âlab safety,â proven by his built-up immunity to almost every toxic chemical heâd ever encountered, and he doubted that Danny should be around such an environment.
He was back to the apartment quickly, not bothering to hide the self-satisfied smile on his face. Danny is sitting in his armchair, trying to read one of his books. Danny looks up, ready to greet him, when he sees the jug in his hands and pauses.
âIs that..?â
âSynthetic ectoplasm,â Jonathan says proudly, âI found the Penguinâs research notes and decided to recreate it, since you said that you needed it to heal properly. Iâm not sure if itâll work the same as what you usually have, but I hope itâs helpful all the same.â
Danny is standing, now, and looking at Jonathan with a strange look in his eyes. He looks, Jon thinks, like heâs about to cry.
Then Danny is rushing forward and wrapping his arms around Jonathan, his scrawny form shaking.
Jonathan is, for a moment, horrified. Did he do something wrong somehow? Why is this child, whoâs so afraid of touch, hugging him?
And then he hears Dannyâs voice, and he knows that it was all worth it.
âThank you,â heâs mumbling, over and over, âthank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much.â
âOf course,â Jonathan says softly, because what else can he say?
The boy cries in his arms for a while, and Jonathan briefly wonders what his life must have been like before, if a person like him can be seen as a comforting figure.
Then, Danny pours himself a small glass of the synthetic ectoplasm, putting the rest into the small fridge which had come with the apartment, and he settles back down, sitting in the armchair once again.
Jonathan sits opposite of him, and they chat with one another as Danny drinks.
Danny talks to him about the stars and tells him about different spaceships, and Jonathan makes sure to pay attention and ask the boy questions.
He doesnât miss the way that Danny lights up every time he asks him something about his interests. Heâs so passionate, so smart, a trait that he seldom sees outside of his fellow rogues, and Jonathan wants to encourage that.
ItâsâŚnice. Peaceful, almost.
And then the front door flies open, because Jonathan isnât allowed to have nice things.
âJon,â a familiar voice rings out, âwhat the hell?!â
Danny is frozen in place, clearly terrified.
Jonathan heaves a sigh, turning to face the nuisance whoâs entered his apartment.
âEddie,â he drawls, âto what do I owe the pleasure?â
Edwardâs face is red with anger as he invades Jonathanâs apartment.
âOh, I donât know! Maybe itâs the fact that you sent a bunch of rogues a cryptic message and then dropped off the face of the earth for two weeks! I was worried, Jon!â
Jonathan hums in acknowledgement.
âI didnât think it was that cryptic,â he says, picking up a book in order to pointedly ignore the Riddler.
âOh, of course you didnât, you straw-stuffed hickory dickory dickhead. I swear, youâre alwaysââ he pauses, finally having noticed Danny sitting opposite of Jonathan, ââwho is this?â
âMy apprentice,â Jonathan replies, dreading the upcoming headache he was no doubt going to develop from Edwardâs company, âheâs helping me hunt down the GiW. His name is Danny.â
Edward gasps dramatically.
âYouâan apprentice?! And youâre letting him sit in the old man chair?! You donât even let me sit in the old man chair,â he wails, draping himself over the headrest of the couch with a flourish, âJonathan, I thought I knew you!â
âEdward,â Jonathan says, âget out of my apartment.â
âOh my goodness, this is incredible. Youâre becoming the bat!â
âI am not becoming the bat, Eddie, now get out.â
Edward has a shit-eating grin on his face as he waltzes over to Danny. Danny, who seemed terrified when he first appeared, is now looking at him with obvious amusement written all over his face.
âI mean, look at him! The hair, the eyes, the scrappy build. If you put him in one of those traffic light vigilante costumes, he could easily pass as a Robin!â
âIâm not doing this with you today, Eddie.â
âRiddle me this, Jon: I am a treasure hidden inside of a chest. You can break me, or steal me, or give me a rest. I can flutter, or pound, or attack, or drop, but if you donât have me, youâre certainly fucked. What am I?â
Jonathan pauses for a moment before he groans, dropping his head into his hands.
âEddie.â
Danny sits still, a confused look on his face as he repeats the riddle silently. Then, his face lights up in delight.
âA heart!â
âJon, I like this one,â Edward says with a smile, ruffling Dannyâs hair, âyou are correct! A heart, something that I wasnât aware that our dear Jonathan had!â
âEddie, stop.â
âNo, no,â Edward says, âI was worried about you, you deserve this. I mean, you even missed girls night! You never miss girls night!â
âGirls night?â Danny asks, absolutely delighted.
âOh, of course,â Edward says, sprawling over on the couch, dangerously close to just laying in Jonathanâs lap, âwe have it once a week. Iâm invited because of Selina and Jonâs invited because Harley likes him.â
âAnd what does girls night entail, exactly?â
âEddie,â Jonathan groans, âplease.â
âWell,â Edward hums, âwe usually paint our nails, or watch a movie, or gossip about the other rogues, and occasionally, we tell each other about any âencountersâ we have with Batman,â he says, raising his eyebrows up and down.
Dannyâs jaw drops.
âEdward, shut up,â Jonathan says, an irritated tone in his voice that wasnât there before.
âNo way,â Danny says, âI thought that Batman, like, hated you guys or something. You mean he actually..?â
âOh, the Bat is much like a bottle of liquor or a cheap cigarette, in that he was made to be passed around.â
Danny chokes on air.
âEdward Nygma,â Jonathan hisses, getting out of his seat and looming over the man, âget the hell out.â
Edward pales.
âLeaving, leaving!â Edward says, dashing away from Jonathan. He pauses, turning to flash Danny a quick smile.
âRemember Danny, Iâm your favorite uncle! Not any of the other rogues, me!â
With that, he leaves, the room falling completely silent.
And, as per usual, that silence does not last.
âYou full-named him?â Danny asks gleefully, âand it worked?â
Jonathan just sighs, sitting down on the couch and rubbing at his temples.
âPlease, donât take anything Eddie says seriously. Heâs a moron.â
âDr. Crane, please let me come to girls night with you,â Danny pleads, his eyes sparkling, âI promise I wonât embarrass you.â
Jonathan groans.
âOf course you wonât, Eddie will do it for you.â
âCome on, please?â
âI think weâre a bit busy with the GiW at the moment,â Jonathan snaps. He pauses as he notices the crestfallen expression on Dannyâs face.
This boy is going to be the death of him.
âPerhaps, though, when all that is taken care ofâŚâ
Danny cheers, grinning wildly, and Jonathan is not at all relieved to see him happy again. Certainly not.
The rest of the day is relatively normal.
Danny works on trying to get information from the GiW database while Crane refines his his fear toxin, both preparing for a raid on the GiW base they located in Gotham.
It was only a temporary base, nothing of note, but there was a chance of discovering more bases through it, and that wasnât something either of them were willing to give up.
Still, something like this would take time. Rushing would only lead to failure.
âŚ
Late in the night, long after Danny is fast asleep in his room, Jonathan pauses.
The GiW are not the only threat out there. They arenât the only threat to him or to Danny. Perhaps it could be helpful to reach out to someone with greater resources than himself.
He sends a quick message to Red Hood.
Hopefully, he thinks, everything will go smoothly.

The wrong DNA test
( what if, Sheila wasn't really Jason's mother? The system is already corrupted, then what about the test?).
A huge brawl containing every rogue had started at the time of Halloween, causing the people from downtown to fled there home's as joker had clownized the whole neighborhood with his goon's.
Every bats had taken to groups to take out the three parts of Gotham's as the rogue's had started to make alliances, some had lasted quite long while had conflicts, and causing a big damage to Arkham asylum,
It didn't take long before they captured all of them, none of the bats questions as they observed Jason glowing green eyes starting to flick, they thought it was the pit again, growing wary of the cooperation, but Crime alley was involved and that mean business to Red hood's turf.
Catherine todd love her son as her own even if not biological, Jason knew that. But her thing with drugs couldn't make her stop.
Sometimes after that, they could hear Jason humming a tune,a nice melody from Damian's statement saying that Jason muttered to him â lullabyâ as Jason continued to read his book, maybe it could be from Catherine,
they knew how Jason's past with Catherine todd, his mom even if not related, Catherine loves her son like her own kid but her doing drugs and... overdosing couldn't be stop.
Maybe Jason just remembered his mother maybe reminiscing atleast something familiar...even if it was a bad time.
Jason had constantly have been hearing a woman's? Man's? Voice, singing him a lullaby...it soothing, like as if he known and loved this melody...and that's where the dreams kept coming, there was a person, giving him kisses, Talkin to him stories, singing him lullabies and soothing him, he could dream that he was actually a baby, a baby from a normal couple, well don't count the luxurious baby room.
Jason had took out a conspiracies why he was getting this dreams, ( he swears he's not becoming Tim) and voices, maybe like a misshapen memories from the pits of victims? No it's to peaceful for that, maybe magic? He already contacted Constantine but surely hang up after knowing who it was-
Just how is he getting this dreams? Unless it wasn't.... So he proved again his point, he started a DNA test, again but none had records...of Sheila being his biological mother...that was weird, last time he had a test was from the time as robin..and before his-
So he went to that hospital who had said where Sheila had given birth to him, and most of shock is that no one knows a mother giving birth named Sheila haywood but had a document of a baby, of one Jason jay nightingale, the most believing part was that it's the same day he was born in.
His mother, Daniel F. Nightingale was said to be trans as the doctor who help his mother safely delivered him, And saying that his mother loved him,
one Sheila Haywood had the constant trick to get him and taken him as his own, because his mother's family was a wealthy one they practically sold him to her.
Jason had thought that maybe his mother's family never wanted him to have a son with a man from Gotham's crime alley.
Meanwhile Danny had just been YEETED to the DC universe before the start of Batman's justice thing and had been adopted by a very wealthy fruit loops couple as there kid, so he stayed as the couples daughter even pretending, because he owed ghost writer a favor for the last time, and as DC universe exist so it's story, and one thing for sure the child he had to give birth in this universe has a very complicated fate,
he did the one night stand from his supposed friend Willis Todd? He had to befriend him as Dalia F. nightingale the supposed Wealthy daughter who fell in love with a peasant trope, and gotten pregnant making it a scandal, and reaching to his âparentsâ circle and getting that drama.
But he never thought he would care for his child, his little jay, his ghost side would purr in delight when they held Jason, he was a very hard sucker especially from his pacifier or his breast, it's so weird being in a women body,
but the way his âparentsâ sold his son to the women who was supposed to get his son killed and being revived by cheap parody ass of ectoplasm.
He went feral, he had an argument to his âparentsâ but all fell deaf ears, he couldn't find his son in one of the hotels nearby where that BXtch was.
And that time was where his part of the script was fulfilled, ghost writer already took him, both sides of his, were angry.
He. will. get. his. baby. back.

A Panic in Time (DP x DC)
This is all thanks to the awesome @tkiesai for basically being the foundation of this idea! This is probably going to be long, and probably won't delve that deep into my ideas about this idea. Largely so it's not insanely long. But here I go!
°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°
Bruce's head felt like it had been shoved through a straw and spit out on the other side. The throbbing was annoying, but it wasn't anything the man couldn't handle.
His mind was muddled, memories of what happened prior to him awaking was blurry and unsure. Bruce knew it wasn't something good.
He vaguely remembered a league meeting, a threat, something looming. It wasn't world ending, or at least that's what Bruce remembered. It should have been something they could handle.
But now, here was Bruce. Waking up in the grass of some random park. He was dressed in casual attire, something he'd wear in public as Bruce. Although last he remembered he was in the Batsuit.
The sun felt too bright in the sky. The sound of families filled the air and children's laughter. No one seemed to blink twice at Bruce as he pulled himself together.
It took a moment to steel himself, to gain composer again. It took a few sweet lines, and a charming smile for a nice mother to slide him a few painkillers. The lies rolling off his tongue like second nature.
To his luck there was a newspaper at the top of the trashcan. He was in some town called Amity Park, and the year... the year was the problem.
It was 1996. Whatever had happened had sent Bruce back in time. There was a few suspects Bruce can think were the cause of this. But something in his gut kept drawing his train of thought to the Flash.
It seemed like each time the League had any time related problems, Barry was in the center of it. Which also leaves Bruce with the question if he was the only one sent back in time.
God, he could only imagine the nightmare if the others were sent back in time. Yes, they can be professional. They understand the risk of changing things in the past.
But Bruce also understands that his team can be less than... intelligent at times.
Despite that, Bruce needed to find a way to get back to Gotham. He might not know for sure where everyone was right now, but he knew Alfred was the safest bet.
A plan laid out in Bruce's mind, a list of people he knew wouldn't be a risk to approach. He just needed to find a way to get to them. He had barely made it to the gates of the park before a shrill cry pierced the air.
There was just one loud outcry, before it quieted down. Bruce glance around the space, spotting a young boy curled on the ground. Tears streamed down the boy's chubby cheeks.
And no one even moved to the boy's aid. Not a single mother spared more than one glance in the kid's directions. No parents came rushing over to the boy's side.
Bruce almost walked away, he really did. This wasn't his time, anything he does can cause immense damage to the timeline. But when Bruce caught sight of blood bubbling from a scrape on the boy's knee, Bruce couldn't ignore him.
Maybe it's just the father in him, but Bruce barely even notices when he's crossing the small distance. His mind zeroing in on a hurt child that needed help. Kneeling before the small boy with a gentle smile, and pulling his handkerchief free from his pocket.
"You're alright there, buddy. It looks like you took a bit of a tumble there." Bruce slipped into the same tone he used to use when his kids were young. Gentle and understanding, as he pressed the handkerchief to the small scrape.
The boy sniffled, tears slipping from his eyes. Bruce was more focused on the way the kid was looking at him. Like he couldn't fathom someone coming to his aid.
That look had Bruce's heart breaking slightly. He's seen a similar look before. The few times he's come to the aid of a hurt child that wasn't used to getting help.
Something no child should ever feel or experience.
"Where's your parents, kiddo?" Bruce asked after a moment of silence from the boy. He had waited until the kid's breathing settled down when the boy's chest stopped pumping so quickly.
Except his question only seemed to bring a new wave of tears to the boy's eyes. The small child just seemed to curl into himself further, ducking his gaze away from Bruce.
And as much as Bruce didn't want it to be true, it was clear the kid didn't have the support he needed. It might not as be as far as some of Bruce's kids have had in the past.
But it was clearly not good.
"That's okay, it's alright. What's your name?" Bruce tried again. The boy's silence was leaving an uncomfortable pit in Bruce's stomach.
"D-Danny..." The boy spoke out his name between sniffles, and Bruce felt a wave of relief hearing the boy speak.
In hindsight, Bruce can see how strange the scene might look. A slightly disheveled man comforting a lone young boy in a park. It wasn't exactly perfect.
But with the lack of reactions from the parents around, Bruce had a feeling the town had an idea who this boy was. The whole situation just didn't feel that right for him.
It took a few more comments before Bruce managed to get the boy to crack a smile. A laugh had felt like breaking a massive wall.
Before long, Bruce had Danny actually like any other boy he's known. Carefree and happy, just like a child should be.
"You didn't tell me your name, mister." Danny had suddenly cut down the relaxed moment they were in. A pout laced the boy's lips as he looked up at Bruce, almost accusatory.
"I'm Bruce. Bruce Wayne." Bruce responded without missing a beat. He knew this might cause problems in the future. He wasn't supposed to be here.
But when his gut is telling him something, he can't just ignore it. He checked his pockets, finding no business cards anywhere. So, Bruce fell back in plan B.
"No matter how long it's been from now, you can come to me for help. Just look for Bruce Wayne in Gotham City, and when you find me... just say Fairbanks sent you."
Bruce wasn't sure if he'll ever see Danny again when he goes back to his own time. Wasn't even sure if this was the same universe as his own. But he couldn't walk away without at least offering the boy help in some way.
When Danny's eyes filled up with tears again, Bruce thought he said something wrong at first. That was until the boy was suddenly clinging to his shoulders in a tight embrace, muttering 'thank you' over and over again.
Bruce felt himself almost close to tears just from that alone. His heart was aching for the small boy. Even if Bruce couldn't help Danny anymore than this, he was hoping the boy would have a better life.
One where he wasn't clinging to a stranger for comfort that family should be providing him.
THWAMP
It didn't hurt, but it did cut their hug short as Bruce suddenly pulled away. Turning his head to see a young girl wielding a wiffle bat, and another young boy standing behind her.
Her purple eyes glared at Bruce like he had done the worst thing in the world. Her grip on the bat was threatening and ready to swing again. Her knuckles white from the tight grip alone.
Maybe leaving this time era might not be as easy as Bruce thought as the young girl probbed him with angry and scolding questions. Not that Bruce could blame her.
He just hoped this hiccup didn't get back to the league. They'd have a field day hearing about how Batman got scolded by a child with a wiffle bat.
°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°
Danny wasn't sure if this was the best idea. It's been years since he met Bruce Wayne. So many years. Danny had just been a kid, not even ten, when Bruce had introduced himself.
When he had an adult, actually check in on him. Yet, it was a memory Danny couldn't forget. Maybe it was just the kindness that Bruce radiated.
Or maybe it was when Sam came to his "rescue" near the end. Regardless, it was cemented in his mind. A core memory that Danny cared with him through the years.
Now, here he was, roughly seven years later. Standing in front of a manor that put even Sam's place to shame.
It took a lot of courage for Danny to knock. Barely a second later, an old man answered the door, an accent Danny was certain Bruce hadn't had.
A stuttered explaination of being here to see Bruce Wayne, that the man knew him, barely left Danny's mouth before the old man ushered him inside.
The man, Alfred, told Danny to wait by the door before vanishing further into the manor. It took a lot for Danny to not just vanish.
Being half ghost nowadays had its quirks, Danny could just vanish, and no one but Alfred would know. But he couldn't.
It had taken a lot for Danny to make the journey to Gotham City. He hadn't even thought to look up a current picture of Bruce either. Which was probably a big mistake on his end.
Danny didn't even know if Bruce was offering this kind of help. But Danny didn't have many allies to turn to. He needed help.
Not just for himself but for his family. For Amity Park. He couldn't be afforded the ability to run away. Not now.
Danny felt all the air leave his lungs when Bruce entered the area. The man didn't look a day older than what Danny remembered. Bruce looked a bit more put together, not like he had just jumped out of a moving car, but it was Bruce.
"Uhm... I don't know if you remember me. But my name's Danny... we met when I was a kid." Danny started trying to explain himself before Bruce could speak. He recognized that confused look anywhere, and Danny didn't have the guts to go through with this if Bruce asked any questions.
"You told me if I ever needed help, to come find you. Bruce Wayne in Gotham City... you, uh, told me to tell you Fairbanks sent me?"
That came out more like a question than Danny would have liked. But it did ease his nerves a bit as he watched Bruce's slightly confused expression turn to alarm and surprise.
Danny wasn't sure what this would do. If Bruce could truly help him. But he was out of options. Just seeing Bruce recognize something he said was enough to calm the teen's anxiety slightly.
"I'm sorry, Danny... I don't remember you. But I believe you and I want to help you. Come inside, have a seat, and tell me what's going on."
That response was enough to have Danny's eyes fill with tears. His chest filling with a sense of hope he hadn't felt in weeks now.
Maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay.

Time to over-analyze things with limited canonical information just because. Here are some of the reasons why Qing Jing may have been a hindrance to Shen Jiu's emotional development and solidified his corruption arc>>
Qing Jing was like the perfect peak to let all his mental wounds fester if you think about it.
Shen Jiu acting like nobility or an educated young master (as most disciples of Qing Jing are) is purely a coping mechanism. It literally screams masking! While the exact circumstances of how he got chosen for Qing Jing is unknown, we can assume he didn't have a choice since most disciples typically just follow their new master to wherever they take them from the selection grounds (with the exception of Bai Zhan lol). He was most likely hoisted onto the Qing Jing peak lord, as no master would've wanted him because of his fucked up meridians and late age. They acquiesced to take him anyway coz of Yue Qingyuan's/the sect leader's insistance. And because it's Shen Jiu, he would naturally do whatever it took to get to the top, and if he started acting like the very sort of people he hates, then so be it.
You can imagine how disastrous imitating his abusers is going to be (he's imitating noblemen in general, but he's definitely taking the Qiu's as a primary example). Shen Jiu clearly is trying to remove and forget everything about his past, and even accepts the rumours of him being a spoiled young master to cast away suspicion. He is coping hard. Not to mention, he was named QingQIU when he became Qing Jing's succeeding disciple. Listen I don't care if it was a bad coincidence or not but that doesn't endear me to Shen Jiu's shizun in the slightest (I'm only talking abt SJ's shizun in canon, not fics, the fics are great. But it's more than likely that SJ's shizun was negligent or abusive as well. Here's why I think that). Between all of this, there's no way he's processing any of that trauma when he's constantly forced to remember all of it. No wonder he slipped into the abuser role easily since he's literally out here actually being made to copy their behavior.
Qing Jing and even the rest of Cang Qiong were always hostile to Shen Jiu, even in his discipleship. These ppl went out of their way to run interventions on Shen Jiu when he's minding his own business. Yes I'm talking abt the whole brothel thing. There were doubtlessly so many disciples who went for the very reasons Shen Jiu was assumed of going for, so why is he the only one getting shit for it? Not only was going to brothels not even a crime worthy of conviction, it was even normalized to an extent. And it would've been so easy to figure out if he really was going for anything "lecherous" by just asking the women there. The fact that, that whole ordeal was never cleared up just shows they didn't actually care about the women or what he was supposedly doing to them. They only cared because it was Shen Jiu who was involved.
Shen Jiu being on any other peak would change things for sure even if it's marginally. Its probably just wistful thinking, but I know at least half of those peaks, even the fanon ones, would be better than Qing Jing at any rate. Again, Shen Jiu would claw his way up and try to succeed any way he can, so if he were put on another peak that would be a somewhat healthy environment for him, he would do well, regardless of the peak. Him doing well on Qing Jing doesn't mean anything other than showing off his awesome(horrible and problematic) coping skills. So really, I can't help but think Qing Jing wasn't a good fit for him, especially with Shen Jiu's specific brand of trauma.
I did a pole once asking if Shen Jiu would've done better on another peak, or if they were just curious to see him anywhere else, and I'm not surprised that the most voted for peak was Yin Hui, the fanon peak for espionage and assassins. Now I'm going to go another tangent why Yin Hui would be good for him later.
#shen jiu#original shen qingqiu#og shen qingqiu#scumbag self saving system#svsss#mxtx svsss#take my opinion with a grain of salt im just saying stuff#qing jing peak#cang qiong mountain sect#i want him on yin hui#for reasons#like imagine if his shizun on yin hui just gave him blanket permission to kill ppl as stress relief#no one would even bat an eye#the other head disciples watching him scrible away formulas and recipes for poison in meetings:#just yin hui being yin hui smh#and proceed to just watch in fascination#as the poisons gradually become more violent and agonizing in how they cause the deaths#mqf helps with sj's poison research sometimes lol#afsosville text

i have an idea!
so. it's Liminal Amity Parkers. and because they are so liminal they need ectoplasm to survive, so Phantom being a helpful little spirit supplies Ectoplasm supplements to Amity parkers who moved.
now the fun part is when our Amity parkers move to Gotham because reasons and really they are used to constant rouge attacks so that's not an issue and look how ectoplasm rich it is! they barely need their ecto sups! the fear gas gets kinda funky sometimes, it affects different liminals differently but never as intended.
the bats see people drinking what seems to be viscous lazarus water and predictably freak out.
#dpxdc#amity park#liminal#the bats are gonna have a time#not necessarily a fun one#Amity parkers are just kinda oblivious to that#o hey guys Danny's here with new dose^^#danny's just being helpful as both Phantom and Fenton#bats aren't so sure about that#damn i want to read that#feel free to use#writing prompt

Familar Stranger
DP x DC au with a dash of dimensional travel where Danny, due to his ghostly nature, looks slightly different depending on how others perceive him.Â
Warning: OP has no knowledge of space other than Google and is also a non-native English speaker; proceed with caution.
Same startup kits: Danny becomes the successor to the Infinity Realm (he's a baby by both ghost and human standards, so there's a temporary council for now). Anyway, he still has some power over the ghosts, so he asks them to lessen the amount of fighting to focus on schoolwork and "princely education."Â
Now here's where my brainrot begins.
The Lazarus Pits, necromantic rituals, or portals of any kind that have "death" or "soul" in them tend to be connected to the Ghost Zone. However, the zone has its own defensive mechanism, so unless someone *Fentons* actively makes a gateway or has "experienced" death, it's nearly impossible to come upon the zone. A certain furry bridage in Gotham has unknowingly ticked all the checkboxes.
During a misson, one of the bats got caught in a magic situation and transported to the Infinity Realms. They wandered around, dogding ghosts, slowly getting insane from all these damn corridors and living paintings, before they stumbled upon a seemingly random door (CW is involved; he's having a great time testing the poor bat).
Opening the door leads them to The Universe. They closed the door, then opened it again. Yep, that's an entire universe complete with its own planetary systems and, oh, so pretty stars growing and dying in a blink of an eye. Another check around shows them that this is the only door so far in the endlessly long hallway. They look down (if there's even a down, for there's only infinity) and take an experimental step. The Milky Way lit up under their feet, with stars gathering around to form a twisting path to nowhere.Â
For the next couple of hours, days, or minutes, they made their way through the galaxies. Just when they were about to spiral into a midlife crisis, they heard... humming?Â
Have they finally lose it? They asked themselves before noticing a glowing figure sitting on an asteroid nearby.
"Hello?"
The figure flinched, and life paused. The blackhole by their left stopped spinning, the stars weren't twinkling, and the figure turned their head. Now it's their blood that runs cold.
"You're not supposed to be here."
Lazarus-colored orbs stared back at them with a familiar face but an unfamiliar voice. Damian tilted his head, looking at them in confusion (there's something wrong, wrong, wrong-). They blinked because, what the hell, seeing something other than a scowl on the boy's face is WeirdTM. Suddenly, that's a teenaged Jason(?) staring at them, much closer than he was before.
At this point, they realizedâ eyes moving over the entire regalia and the glowing crown that just appearedâthey're probably in deep sh*t.

you mentioned the arrows stealing tim from the bats and i just had the hilarious idea of that + jaytim
poor oliver would lose his mind bc he goes and saves tim from the bats and then tim brings one of them home
put it back tim you don't know where that's been
i'm CRYING this is so funny. it's even funnier given what Jason did to Mia. like of all the morally questionable mob bosses Tim could've dragged home, he had to pick *that one*? Oliver is trying to be supportive of Tim and give Tim more agency than Bruce gave him, bc Oliver worked *hard* to steal this one and he's not going to lose all of the progress he made. and it does seem like Tim's doing *somewhat* of a decent job of making Jason less murdery. and Jason agrees to the rule he'll keep out of the Star City scene, but Gotham's still his fair game. and honestly, that makes Oliver like him just a *little bit* because if he's going to make Bruce's life more difficult, maybe Jason is alright.
it also does *not* help that when Oliver goes to Roy for support bc Roy agrees that Jason is untrustworthy as hell. but Roy is *also* the guy who had a daughter with Chesire, so the best he can do is give Oliver a shrug.
also think it's fun if Tim is sort of tense, expecting Oliver to put his foot down and tell Tim no. like he's not used to a vigilante parental figure who's actually good at the parent part, so it's weird having this level of freedom, esp when he knows Oliver does disapprove. but Oliver lets Tim figure out hs own love life and make his own mistakes, even if he's ranting to Dinah about Jason until two in the morning. it doesn't help that Jason makes no move to try to get along with Oliver. he's just a shit to be a shit. at this point Tim is pretty sure Jason enjoys driving Oliver up a wall more than he enjoys dating Tim. who's to say if it's true.
#necrotic answerings#jaytim#crack#this verges on ooc#but sometimes we deserve silly lil ooc things#and this is just so funny anon#oliver losing his mind bc why can't his kids be normal.#he says that in passing and tim bluescreens bc wdym he's considered one of oliver's kids.#he did not mean to stay longterm.#i think it's fun if bc of issues with bruce tim stays with the arrows âjust for a bitâ partly to help with a case#and partly bc oliver offers the space for tim to clear his head#and oliver has the obvious ulterior motive of just stealing tim. and it works.#tim insists he's going to leave. he is a liar.#i really want a tim and mia friendship. i think they'd be fun.#and she'd rib him for dating jason. more lgihthearted than oliver but she gets her jabs in#i need to read more arrow comics to write stuff with them#i feel *bad* bc i know fans of other super families hate when batfamily fans invade the tags#so i feel i owe it to be as canon accurate as possible.#i do not view these characters as props for the bats i swear </3

Lae'zel is like a play on the "I'm not other girls" thing, except she's trying SO hard to be like other Gith girls. She's trying to steel her heart and be a perfect soldier in the collective army serving beneath Vlaakith. No will of her own. Just blind servitude alongside the other Gith who are also denying their own individualism.
Rather than gutting the companions right then and there - as any other Githyanki would do - she joins them AND promises them a cure. A cure that was meant to be ONLY for Githyanki warriors. And she doesn't know about the lies or the fact that he cure is a death sentence, but she still extends that olive branch to the group. She'll speak up when she's grouchy and try to project a hard exterior, but she's SO secretly soft.
When you approach Rosymorn, she'll stay on that part of the map if you try to leave. Upon returning, you can make her admit she missed you.
You can make the strong Gith who was raised to pillage, kill, and conquer admit that she missed the player character.
Lae'zel isn't like other Gith Girls.
Her act two scene is trying to progress the romance as though it were between two Gith raised within that culture. It's a fight to prove your worth through your battle prowess, which makes only the best *warriors* worthy of companionship. However, it becomes clear that isn't want Lae'zel wants. If the player loses, and Bae'zel beats the fuck out of them, she becomes distraught because she doesn't WANT to fight her romantic partner.
She wants to mutually protect one another. She wants companionship with her partner. She wants to enjoy the sunrise with them, feel the tickle of the night breeze, see the Tears of Selune chase after the moon across the night sky, she wants to live and she wants to share those experiences with her love. She doesn't WANT to be the stone cold Gith that she was raised to be.
Lae'zel wasn't given any role to do with the eggs, but once the egg is in the party's possession, she's instantly drawn to it. When Xan hatches, she gives him a name to represent that he'll be raised to be free to be himself. He'll have the freedom to choose his own path, whatever that maybe. Xan DOESN'T have to be like the other Gith. He could be a scholar, an artist, a warrior, anything he wishes to be. It's his life and Lae'zel is just happy to see her little Xan be raised with the freedom she didn't realize she craved until she arrived on that silly little planet.
Lae'zel isn't like other Gith girls because no two people are the same, even if raised in the same circumstances and culture. Everyone is an individual, even when they serve a collective or are fighting alongside Allies with the same main goal.
Lae'zel isn't just a nameless, faceless soldier. She isn't interchangeable with other Gith. She isn't like the other Gith girlies.
#bat rambles#i'm gonna be stewing on this for a bit#she's 22 and coming into herself and realizing she is going against the grain of her culture#her culture just is trying to remove individuality beyond like#how it may help them be a better fighter/warrior#free thinking literally gets you killed in this culture#so behaving like the other gith girls is a way to protect herself and increase survivability#and like i dont' think this is an intentional thought of hers#i think she genuinely thinks this is who she is and what she wants#but her character arc is unraveling all of that and figuring out what *her* desires are and also#her appreciating the world she had previously steeled her heart against#lae'zel

I headcanon Danny as the ghost king so hard that I forget that in canon, Danny isn't technically the ghost king. So imagine Pariah Dark spirits away the town, only the JL notices!
They call Zatanna and Constatine, send in a whole team of heroes, and when they arrive, this scrawny looking ghost kid has already done their job for them. When Constantine tries to dismiss him as part of cleanup (this is a living realm problem now, kid), he realizes and relays to the other hero's that the kid is half alive. He's young and tired and ALIVE and very much in need of help.
So the JL whisks him away to safety, not knowing the trouble that would follow. Now, every member of the team must be on high alert as they work to foil the Observants' attempts to crown a 14 year old child.
