bruce wayne・゜゜・．billie bossa nova. underneath all the sneaking around hotel rooms and charity galas, both you and bruce long to be understood for more than just your family names and your money. whatever’s going on between the two of you is merely putting a band-aid on a niger issue, you’re aware, but there’s something about bruce that helps you rationalize the less-than-ideal circumstances. a lot can change in twenty seconds… a lot can happen in the dark. (based off “billie bossa nova” by billie eilish!)

jim hopper ・゜゜・．you’re a fighter. in one moment, all hop had to worry about was you slowly growing more independent and mike wheeler’s insufferable attitude, but now the mind flayer’s set its sights on you and you’ve seemingly lost your powers. setting the mess with the russians beneath starcourt mall aside, hopper’s main priority is making sure you’re safe and away from any more danger. you may be a fighter, but you’re his kid first. (based off “you’re a fighter” by kyle dixon and michael stein!)

joel miller ・゜゜・．western nights. joel knows you’re not supportive of the violent ways he provides for you, but in a post-apocalyptic world morals are put on the back burner while he concerns himself with keeping you both fed, housed, and taken care of. you’re stubborn, he’s stubborn, but you’d never think of taking off and leaving him behind. this time’s no different. (based off “western nights” by ethel cain!)

patrick zweig ・゜゜・．part of your world. mermaids were nothing but a mere children's bedtime story— they weren't real. that’s what patrick’s father had told him since he'd been a boy; that the wondrous creatures he believed in with all his heart were nothing but tall tales meant to put the children of new rochelle to bed with little fight. that’s proven to be false when you rescue him from swimming with the fishes for eternity, and now that he knows your kind is real, patrick just has to learn more. he’ll bring you as many human trinkets for your collection as you’d like if you’d let him be part of your world for a moment. tashi duncan ・゜゜・．bodyguard. wlw. tashi’s always been protective of you since you started seeing each other, but it’s always amusing to see just how worked-up she gets when you’re the center of attention. stanford’s hosting a concert in the park, art and patrick are nowhere to be found, and tashi’s left to keep herself in control lest she “accidentally” scare people off because they’ve looked at you too long. she’ll protect you in the mosh pit, no doubt— but she’s still working on keeping that territorial nature of hers in check. (based off “bodyguard” by beyoncé!)

It's been almost 2 years since I made this post and I'm just realizing I got a reblog from Haiku Bot.

I need more Bruce Wayne wearing sunglasses icons, and I need them now.

I think it would be funny if people described their current fandom as like an infection that's continually getting worse like:

The Catcher in the Rye virus just grows worse day by day. My first exposure to it in October of 2022 was very mild and I didn't properly start doodling Holden and Stradlater until November. Oh, how innocent I was back then...just mindlessly doodling for something my teacher assigned...what little I knew. We finished the book before Christmas break in December but that only put a temporary stop to my fixation. During this time I occupied myself with the DHMIS and the Shovelware's Brain Games. However, even stranger enough, in March when Character.ai was popping off I got an urge to talk to Holden. And so I did. 3 different bots at least 3 times each or so, usually playing as Stradlater with different scenarios. Around this same time is when we started to read Farenheit 451 and that did not stop the fixation.

However, in June, I got into the Onceler, then Batman(2022), The Real Ghostbusters, and Eddsworld but it was still a lingering comfort of mine and I found myself occasionally doodling the little edgelord and posting thoughts I had about him here.

Then, I got an ask commenting about how I talk about Holden and I got back into it(never left but still) but recently it has grown...increasingly concerning. It started as it always does, mostly just thinking about Holden and Stradlater...but then before I knew i, I was thinking about Ackley...and making an AU....and new ships...and rereading the book...and now it seems that even the critters of Jane and Sally have invaded my brain. I don't know when this will stop if it ever will, but this is by far the most extreme case of The Catcher in the Rye virus I've ever seen...so far? No cure is available...yet.

Hello good. I would like to ask a question. How much was the collection of the New52 comics? Also part of the shared Superman/Wonder Woman stories. Compared to Rebirth's current win stats. I say this because there are a lot of fans of Wonderbat, Clois, etc. Weary in changing the narrative and reality, and I would like to know since DC comics currently suffer from low sales and threaten to close the comic book publisher.

You can go to Comic Book Revolution who do analysis of DC's sales.

Look at Chart Sales and Rankings numbers and analysis and it will tell you how poorly Superman and Wonder Woman books currently are doing. DC's best seller has always been and still is Batman.

So don't take our word for it, the stats are there. Twitter is full of trolls and bots and people who do not buy comics. Their opinions are opinion. Not necessarily what the real picture is when it comes to what sells.

Anyway here are excerpts taken for Superman and Wonder Woman for May 2023 from the site.

The Superman franchise had zero titles in the Top 10, one title in the Top 25, and four titles in the Top 50. This was the same as April 2022 when the Superman franchise had zero titles in the Top 10, one title in the Top 25, and four titles in the Top 50. Year-over-year numbers were up as the xx franchise had zero titles in the Top 10, one title in the Top 25, and one title in the Top 50 in May 2022.

Superman #4 held steady by only dropping from the number 18 spot to the number 20 spot. DC Comics desperately needs Superman to remain a consistent Top 25 title.

Power Girl Special #1 debuted in the number 31 spot. That is not bad considering that this one-shot issue shipped in the last week of May 2023! This does not surprise me. Everyone loves Power Girl!

Adventures of Superman Jon Kent #3 barely clung to the Top 50 as it dropped from the number 32 spot down to the number 48 spot. It is a lock that this title will exit the Top 50 with the next issue. The big question will be if Adventures of Superman Jon Kent can conclude its six-issue limited series in the Top 75.

Action Comics #1055 climbed up from the number 67 spot to the number 54 spot. This is due to the fact that Action Comics #1054 shipped in the final week of April 2023. This is still far from the number 24 sales ranking that Action Comics #1052 got in March 2023.

I had my concerns about Action Comics once it was announced that it would be an anthology title. We just do not usually see any anthology title enjoy much sales success. DC Comics absolutely needs Action Comics to be a consistent Top 50 seller. It will be demoralizing if most of the DC Comics’ Dawn of DC titles sink out of the Top 50.

Superman Lost #3 fell from the number 53 spot and out of the Top 75 and down to the number 78 spot. It appears that many readers are not interested in Christopher Priest’s offering. These sales rankings would indicate that Superman Lost will probably conclude its ten-issue mini-series outside of the Top 150.

Superboy The Man of Tomorrow #2 is the dog of the Superman franchise as it fell from the number 46 spot and out of the Top 100 and down to the number 104 spot. I cannot say that I am surprised. I love Conner Kent’s character so much. But, DC Comics’ decision to grossly regress Conner’s character in favor of elevating Jon Kent is clearly not appealing to readers. At this rate, this six-issue mini-series may not conclude inside of the Top 175.

We have always given Wonder Woman her own franchise section in these comic sales rankings articles. However, given that DC Comics has reduced Wonder Woman to just one title, I have decided to fold Wonder Woman into the “Justice League Franchise” section. Once DC Comics makes more of an investment in the Wonder Woman franchise and gives it multiple titles then we will break her out into her own franchise section again.”

In other words WW is not doing well.

They have done analysis for both DC and Marvel for each month so you can go back and see how the sales for Superman and Wonder Woman have been.

There is also Comichron and The Beat who offers analysis and numbers if one wants more evidence.

Okay, so thoughts on the Game Awards 2022.

I'd say that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was robbed, but it was up against some pretty tough competition (and Uncharted), and I liked Arcane too, so I'm not too disappointed with this result. At least it wasn't Uncharted.

Bayonetta prequel? Interesting. I really should play these games some day.

Alright then, 7 years later, the question of whether or not Batman really died at the end of Arkham Knight is finally answered. Nope, he's alive. Guess they couldn't do a game with the Justice League without Batman.

"Thank You Kevin" I think I teared up a little. At least we'll get to hear him voice Batman one last time.

Those of you who like a small Venn diagram of Justice League Unlimited/DCAU and my fics might remember a collection of ficlets back in 2010-2012, called Snapshot Collection. Well, a while ago I finished the long process of posting them on AO3! The entire series is there and appropriately called DC Snapshots. It has a collection of 200 words per work on average snapshots and then a dozen slightly longer works.

So, having started on 16th September 2022 and finishing (with a hiatus) on 17 July 2023, here’s Snapshot Collection!

Ear Worm (Superman can honestly say that he loves music. But he likes a song a lot less if it’s continuously hummed while he’s on monitor duty.)

Encounter (When Batman meets the man Wally introduces as his uncle, he can’t help a slightly puzzling feeling of déjà vu.)

Fear (Wally hasn’t had his old stuck-in-super-speed nightmare for a while now – not since he defeated “Brainthor”. But he doesn’t know what he would give to have it back.)

First Date (The first time Linda went on a date with Wally West, something bugged her throughout the major part of the night.)

Games (Something John can never quite figure out is why on Earth Flash keeps picking the green Brawlin’ Bot whenever he manages to get Green Lantern or J’onn to play with him.)

Infuriating (“Wouldja stand still so I can properly kill you?!” Captain Boomerang yelled, thoroughly aggravated.)

Selfless (Wally often hears people pointing out that selflessness is the chief virtue of a superhero. He disagrees. Having a lot of self had never kept him from doing the right thing.)

Nickname (The first time that Flash calls him ‘Bats’, they're in the middle of a fight, and Batman has other things on his mind. The second time is another matter.)

Onomatopoeia (Diana doesn’t understand why Flash seems to mistake Batman for a disgruntled coyote, so Hawkgirl explains the subtleties of the Roadrunner cartoons.)

Gone (set during “A Better World”) (It’s been two years since the White House Incident and the change in the Justice Lords, and Lois wonders where Clark has gone.)

Prerogative (Flash wonders how come they almost never go to Gotham. When he stops to think about it, GL knows the answer.)

Company (set after “Eclipsed”) (At the end of the day, Flash reflects, it could have been a lot worse. Now, if only he could get some sleep…)

Mother (set during “Hereafter”) (For the first time since she was banished from the sunny shores of Themyscira, Diana feels cold.)

Dinner (It may not amount to much for Lex Luthor and his ilk, but tonight the Ultra-Humanite had everything: a perfect dinner with the most beautiful woman in the entire history of art.)

Return (Each step is hard, and every stare is painful. But Shayera Hol holds her head high and keeps her back straight.)

Most popular story: “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” with a total of 366 kudos and 4854 hits! (Though I will admit, I was hit with a kudos bot last year, so my kudos are skewed unfortunately)

Story I’m most proud of: Again, “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” has to be the one I’m most proud of because it’s my longest one with almost 50k words and I’m not even half-way through what I have planned!

Funniest: It’s a toss up between “What Do Bees Make?” and “More Than Meets the Eye.”  WDBM? was a crack fic I wrote at midnight because I love the ‘What do bees make? Honey? Yes, Dear?’ gag. MTMTE is also funny because I love writing Karliah just growing increasingly exasperated at the stupid and weird things about Duna (my Dragonborn for the fic).

Saddest: "To Live Another Life,” hands down. I wrote this after a friend mentioned how if you go back to the prison cell you start off in with the Alternate Start Skyrim mod, there’s a skeleton in the bed, kinda implying you had died and were reincarnated into your current character. Legit teared up when I wrote it. (I was also (lovingly) shamed by my friend who beta’d it because I wrote the draft in Comic Sans)

Least Popular: “More Than Meets the Eye,” but I expected it because it’s an OC story. However, I am pleased to see I have some subscribers for it! Also, funny thing to note. One of my friends had actually read this fic before I told them I wrote fanfiction.

Most Cringe-worthy: I try to be proud of what I wrote, so I’m gonna take a page out of wordsofawanderingsoul’s book and go with fics that were out of my comfort zone. “To Live Another Life” was definitely something that was new territory because I had never written second-person POV before. It was a fun exercise, and I’m happy with how it turned out.

Favorite opening line(s): From “What Do Bees Make?” “They’re totally into each other.”

“I don’t think they are.”

“Apollo, I can literally hear the affection in their voices,” Athena deadpanned as she pointed to her ear. “Plus, you still can’t accept the fact that Klavier has been flirting with you since day one, so I'm taking your opinion with a grain of salt right now.”

Favorite Closing line(s): Also from “What Do Bees Make?” Neither of the two men said anything for a few seconds, both content to keep their faces hidden.

“Well, Phoenix, I believe that, as some of my students would say, we’ve been ‘had,’” the Professor sighed.

Phoenix groaned in agreement before he slowly removed his hands from his face.

“Okay, you got us.” He moved back to the couch and grabbed Layton’s hand. “Hershel and I are dating.”

Do I still post Voltron? Occasionally, yes. Voltron's one of those shows that grab you by the ankles and drag you across valleys and eventually you just kinda let it because sometimes the valleys are actually kinda cool-looking... awful metaphor, sorry.

For The Dragon Prince content -> @juice-thief-frog

Do I still post Dragon Prince? Yes! Mostly theories and fanart, and I'll be posting more when the next season's trailer drops I'm sure.

For Avatar: The Last Airbender content -> @the-momo-nation

Do I still post Avatar? Ehhh, kinda. Rarely, but when I do it's either fanart or headcanons. I made the blog during my first ever time watching the show just for fun, but I hope to someday post some analysis of the show and characters.

For Stranger Things content -> @demowaffle

Do I still post Stranger Things? Probably too much posting these days, but Season 4 Volume 2 just came out so it be like that. My favourite character changes every hour or so, so spontaneous midnight posting is not uncommon.

Do I still post for the MCU? Not really, but sometimes I'll find something cool. Like Avatar, I made the blog for fun while watching the movies in 2021.

Do I still post for Sims? The funny thing with The Sims 4 is, every now and again you wanna play the game again and then it's not like a subtle interest, you'll like all in. So I guess my answer is 'yes, every couple of months I become a rabid Sims fan and then I post something'.

I don't post as often on there these days, but I'll be becoming a little more active soon since I've gotten back into writing my novel (that cursed novel that scitters across my room at night like some eldritch monster, snapping at my ankles in the morning like a hungry chihuahua with zoomies, no wonder I made so many monsters for that book smh) The book's tag is 'the thaumaturge world' but I haven't posted about it in months so the information on the blog is a little outdated right now.
