Imma answer with my Holden Caulfield playlist because erm why not >:]
1: um...not really any...but the most plausible to happen in like an au would be Hansel by Soddiken or dumb dumb by maize
2: Your New Home by Gooseworx and His Theme by Toby Fox(my only explanations are your new home is just him realizing like holy shit I'm growing up and his theme reminds him of Allie :])
3: ok literally just added didn't know it was on Spotify but It'll be OK from fiw...ik what the song is about but the only part that applies is the "I always wanted my own brother" esp the "but then he signed that record label, a cute quinet of boyish sound. But now that everybody loves him, I'm just a face out in the crowd" when D.B got into Hollywood and kinda left their family in his opinion yk?
4: Monster by Skillet/This is not a Christmas Song by NEFFEX, enough said
5: Soft Bitch by Rio Romeo and God it's so good, his ass would never listen to it but I view it as him getting soft around Stradlater cuz yk I ship em
6: My R by Lollia with him wanting to be the catcher in the rye and stuff
7: Nobody Likes Me(Think I'll go eat worms) by ABC Kids. I can't explain it other than he would be an animation meme kid
character playlists always should have the following:
song that is pretty accurate to the character’s story
song that doesn’t fit the character at all but i was thinking about them while listening to it on loop
song that has one or two lines accurate to the character’s story
song that just kind of is the character’s vibe
song that i desperately wish they would listen to because i personally like it
song that fits the character so well that it’s scary
unsure why this song is in the playlist but it’s so ingrained in my mind as 'part of the playlist' that it would feel weird to remove it

Surprise dummies!!!
I finished the book. Earlier than I thought it would. I have many things to say. One of the things I would like to do ASAP, is my book review. So here it goes.
Holden, the narrator and protagonist, relates the account of his travels before Christmas from what appears to be a sanatorium. Holden is at Pencey Prep School when the story opens, making his way to Spencer, his history teacher's home , so he can say goodbye. He informs the reader that he was expelled as a result of failing the majority of his classes. Following his visit to Spencer, Holden runs into Ward Stradlater, his roommate, who asks him to write an essay for English class while he goes on a date with a longstanding Holden acquaintance. Holden writes about his younger brother Allie's baseball glove after they had agreed to this. Allie passed away from leukemia. Holden is informed by Stradlater upon his return that the essay. Holden becomes enraged when Stradlater refuses to reveal if he had sex with his date. Holden storms out, leaving Pencey in New York City a few days early for Christmas break. He is unable to return home after he gets to New York since his parents are still unaware that he has been expelled. He decides to stay at the Edmont Hotel instead, where he sees some sexually graphic events through the windows of other rooms. He then seeks out social connection at the hotel's nightclub, the Lavender Room, as a result of his loneliness. He visits another nightclub after speaking with a few women there, but leaves after spotting his older brother's ex-girlfriend. Once he arrives to the hotel, he asks a prostitute to attend to his room so he may speak to her. He gets punched in the stomach as a result of what happened. Holden contacts his ex-girlfriend Sally Hayes the following morning. After sharing the day together, Holden makes a rude comment, and she breaks down and pulls away. Later, Holden meets up with Carl Luce, a former classmate, at a bar, but Luce departs early after becoming irritated with Holden's crude remarks. Holden stays behind and consumes alcohol on his own. He lingers around Central Park after he departs until the cold forces him to go back to his family's apartment. Still hesitant to confront his parents, he sneaks in and discovers Phoebe, his sister who is 10 years old. When she learns that Holden has failed, she is angry and accuses him of being uninterested in anything. At this point, Holden tells his sister about his dream when he heard a little child singing the song "If a body catches a body comin' thro the rye," he was inspired to create "the catcher in the rye." According to Phoebe, the line is from a Robert Burns poem called "If a Body Meet a Body Comin Thro the Rye." Holden sneaks away as they hear their parents arriving from a night out. Holden makes contact with Mr. Antolini, his ex English teacher, who offers Holden to stay at his house. On Antolini's couch, Holden drops out and wakes up to see Antolini petting his forehead, which he perceives as a sexual drive. He leaves right away and spends the rest of the evening at Grand Central Station. When he wakes up, he goes to Phoebe's school and drops off a letter asking her to meet him at a museum at lunch, informing her of his plans to flee. She insists on coming with him and shows up there with a suitcase packed. He declines and offers to take her to the zoo instead. Outside, in the cold rain, he sees her ride the carousel. This indicates the ending of the flashback. Holden explains that he has "fallen poorly," but that he hopes to attend a different school next fall as the book comes to an end.
Woah. Heavy, isn’t it? Well, for you lazy boys that are so useless in life that you are unable to read a book by yourself and need me to summarize it, there you go. Now I ask you to get prepared for the next entry, because I decided to write it in a stream of consciousness. Just like my J.D. Cheers, mate!!!

WEDNESDAY 💚
--
I started this book Catcher in the Rye by J D Salinger a long time back along with A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass. I completed two books in between this those were: The Diary of a Submissive by Sophie Morgan and We should all be Feminist by
This book, Catcher in the rye went really slow for me, I found it somewhere difficult to connect to it enough to read it without having to think that maybe I should start some other book. So, I finally decided, I'll DNF it and maybe I'll read it some other time when I will be looking for a slow paced read maybe.
--
My review till how much I understood and completed this book :
This book is about a boy named Holden. The protagonist of this book. He's expelled from basically all the schools he went to till now. He had an elder brother who was writer when he used to be at home.
Holden starts his story from when he was about to leave his school or you could say he was expelled yet again from Pency Prep which was in Angerstown Pennsylvania.
Here he talks about when he went to meet his professor Mr. Spencer and the conversation they had. How the professor was worried about Holdens future as all teachers tend to be worried about their students future, but Holden didn't care about it much.
He also tells us about his roommate and his senior, Ward Stradlater and about his neighbours roomate Robert Ackley.
For me Ackley came across as a guy who had to be told many times to do something and still he won't listen, maybe you can call him stubborn kindof.
Stradlater came across as a person or rather a senior who would deligate their work to their juniors so that they themselves can go for parties, dates etc. and then not even appreciate the work that's done because it's not done in the way they wanted it. Holden being a kindof nice roomate did the assignment for his senior anyways but as he didn't do it yhe way Stradlater wanted him to do it they ended up having a bad fight.
Here, one more character who was introduced was Jane Gallagher, who seems to be Holdens crush probably, also a neighbour during summer time (currently it's winter), she is a dancer and Holden mentions how they used to play together all the time.

This is what I have read till now.

J.D. SALINGER ÇAVDAR TARLASINDA ÇOCUKLAR ÖZETİ
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Pek oldukca insanoğlunun hakkında konuştuğum için üzgünüm. Bildiğim tek şey; size anlattığım herkesi birazcık özlüyorum. Bizim Stradlater’ı ve Ackley’i bile, sözgelimi. Sanırım o nalet Maurice’i bile özlüyorum. Holden ağabeyinin Hollywood’a senaryo yazmasını doğru bulmamaktadır. Jane’i “yapmacık” olarak değerlendirmez fakat arada geçen zamanda yapmacık olabileceğini içten içe düşündüğünden onunla karşılaşmaktan korkar. Ward Stradlater: Stradlater, Holden’ın yakışıklı ve popüler oda arkadaşıdır. Cinselliği yaşamış okuldaki nadir çocuklardan biridir. Holden tesadüf sonucu Stradlater’in Jane ile dışarı çıkacağını duyunca kriz geçirir ve Stradlater’a saldırır. Mr. Spencer: Mr. Spencer, Holden’ın Pencey Prep’teki tarih öğretmeni. Aslen fena bir insan olmayan Spencer, Holden’a devamlı “oyunu kurallarına nazaran oynamak”tan bahseder. Valencia: Valencia, The Wicker Bar’daki hanım. Holden`a nazaran aşağılık bir sahtekar. Bundan dolayı daha gariban, gülünç giyinişli velilerle konuşmayı fazla istemez. Dr. Thurmer: Pencey Prep’in müdürü. Selma Thurmer: Pencey Prep’in müdürnün kızı. Chapters 3 - 5 Summary
Chapter 3
Holden lives in the Ossenburger hall which was named after a Pencey graduate who made a fortune from owning funeral homes. Robert Ackley, an unlikable person with bad hygiene who is also Holden’s neighbour barges in his dorm. When Ackley comments on Holden's hunting hat, Holden tells him it's a "people shooting hat." Ward Stradlater, Holden's handsome roommate enters his room. Ackley dislikes Stradlater; he leaves the dorm immediately. Stradlater tells Holden he has a date.
Chapter 4
Holden keeps Stradlater company as he asks who his date it. Stradlater says it is Jane Gallagher. Holden was shocked and told Stradlater that he knew Jane from playing checkers with her one summer, but Stradlater did not seem to care. Once Stradlater leaves the room, Ackley again barges in. This time Holden is happy to see him.
Chapter 5
Holden convinces his friend Mal Brossard to let Ackley come see a movie with them. But when they realize that Mal and Ackley have already seen the movie, they eat hamburgers and play pinball instead. When Holden returns back to his room, he begins to write Stradlater's composition. Holden writes about his brother Allie's baseball glove, which Allie had covered with poems. Holden was thirteen when Allie died of leukemia at age eleven. He describes Allie as kind, innocent, and the smartest person in his family.

Ackley, Gallacher, and Stradlater
Tumblr media
Holden’s deceased brother, Allie, had a baseball mitt with poems written in green ink on it. Is there a correlation between Holden’s cynical attitude towards society and Allie’s death?
Following his visit to Mr. Spencer’s house, Holden returns to his dorm at Pencey. Not long after that, his dorm neighbour, Robert Ackley, barges into his room. Holden’s unfavourable opinion of Ackley is mostly based on Ackley’s poor hygiene habits. Ackley remains there until Holden’s fit and handsome roommate, Ward Stradlater, comes back. Stradlater asks Holden to write his homework composition since he was leaving to go on a date with Jane Gallagher. This makes Holden uncomfortable, since he likes Jane too. While Stradlater was on his date, Holden, Ackley, and Mal Brossard went out to watch a movie. Upon returning to the dorm, Holden starts writing the composition for Stradlater. Although the composition was supposed to be about a room or house, Holden writes about his younger brother Allie’s baseball mitt. Holden was only thirteen when Allie died from leukemia.
It’s clear that Holden is bitter about many aspects of his life, such as having to attend Pencey and seeing Jane go out with Stradlater. I can also be quite bitter about some aspects of my life, but not nearly as bitter as Holden. Things that depress me are really simple, such as having to get up on Monday mornings for school.
When his beloved younger brother Allie died, Holden went crazy and destroyed the garage windows with his bare fists. I’ve never had such a traumatic event happen to me, so the closest I’ve ever gotten to going crazy is yelling at my siblings for losing or breaking my belongings.
In this chapter, Holden’s hatred for phoniness is further established. Holden’s dorm is in the Ossenburger Memorial Wing in Pencey. Ossenburger is a Pencey alumnus who got rich from the undertaking business. Holden questions whether he even buries bodies properly and considers making money off of someone else’s death to be phony. Another phony alarm that went off was when Ossenburger claimed that he often conversed with Jesus, which further led to Holden’s dislike towards him.  Another example of phoniness was when Holden revealed his dislike towards Stradlater for being a secret slob. He didn’t approve of how Stradlater would make himself very presentable in public while neglecting his personal private hygiene. An example of this neglect is Stradlater’s old and crusty razor.
Holden was really uncomfortable with Stradlater dating Jane Gallagher. Yes, it’s obvious that it’s because Holden also likes Jane, but is there a deeper reason? I believe that it’s because Holden remembers her as an innocent girl whom he used to play checkers with. Since he remembers her as an innocent girl, he has trouble associating her with the handsome and sexually-experienced Stradlater.
While reading these chapters, I started to ask myself, “How reliable is Holden’s narration?” I’m starting to see that his point of view is extremely biased. When Stradlater refuses to tell Holden whether he had sex with Jane in the car, Holden narrates it as if Stradlater was a big jerk. However, it’s actually quite respectable of Stradlater to be protecting Jane’s privacy by keeping quiet. The reliability of Holden’s narration is further put into question when he claims to be an excellent liar at the beginning of chapter 3.
Based on his disapproval of the relationship between Stradlater and Jane, and his poor communication skills, I predict that Holden will get into some sort of fight with Stradlater in the next few chapters.

The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
Tumblr media
Sebelum menembak John, Mark sempat meminta tanda tengan John di novel ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ karya J. D. Salinger miliknya.
"You know that song 'If a body catch a body comin' through the rye'? I'd like—"
"I thought it was 'If a body catch a body,'" I said. "Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around—nobody big, I mean—except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I'd do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be. I know it's crazy."
