I love Captain Atom, I really do, but I will not be forgiving modern comics for this MONSTROSITY!

I mean, look at his hair!! It's almost not there, man. I miss his mullet/longer hair in V2

What I will be appreciating is the silver hair rep they gave him. Finally!

2. I don’t really like him phasing though walls because that’s one of firestorm’s og powers and not one of his and i think it’s indicative of a confusion between the two of them

3. So yeah they reference his origin/him being framed for drugs or whatever it was I totally forgot. I hope that they are going with the “Nate had a fake origin sold to the public” thing because it does look like the military is monitoring him to the foot

5. Now this I like because his abilities have always had some kind of energy absorption element to them. Shame he didn’t jump in time from this one. (Or maybe he did and we didn’t know? Wishful thinking)

Justice League: The Atom Project #1

Fuck yeah, Ryan Parrot and John Ridley, two writers whose work I've enjoyed in the past. Let's get into it.

It feels a little disappointing, to be honest. It's not quite as bombastic or explosive as I was hoping, but there is an intriguing triangle of characters flaws happening between the three Atoms. Ryan Choi is cautious and a little too honest, Ray Palmer is overconfident and unempathetic, and Nathaniel Adam is brash and stubborn. Considering the states of the in medias res and the flashback, I can only imagine this blowing up in their faces sooner rather than later. And that idea is going to keep me going.

The Atom Project 1: I'm not a big fan of the heroes being the bad guys. Trying to contain the powers run amuke is cool but to what end. Ray Palmer comes off as a huge jerk & i keep expecting to see Hawkman. Ryan Choi is really cool. How many powers does Cpt Atom have and why?
