When I saw that the Topolino comics were making an adaptation of The Little Prince, I was soooo sure Minnie was going to make an appearance as Mickey's precious rose, and/or that we were going to get some whimsified version of that tragic ending.

The end result was still lovely--gorgeous gorgeous artwork and a really creative, beautiful story. But that doesn't mean I wasn't a little bummed that those other elements weren't at all present.

#if there's one thing I've noticed about those comics #it's that they don't seem to have much of a fondness for Minnie #she doesn't quite read like herself #and neither of them seem nearly as loyal to the other as they are in nearly all other media #which is kind of a bummer #because while their adaptations are a little crazy and sometimes weird #(btw I'm talking about the ones since Disney took over and NOT the really weird ones from way back when)#the artwork is always so pretty #and they do think outside the box in a really neat way #I just wish Minnie wasn't boxed into this little corner #they kind of write her like a brat #and it just seems they're missing that core essence of her character #which is her love #not just cheap romantic crush kind of love #but an overflowing compassion and care for Mickey and everyone else #ah #hold on #I think my Minnie mode has been activated lol #every now and then I switch back and forth between feeling really close with one or the other #right now it's Min I guess #xD

i still haven’t shared the lore of fitzroy & foster (the new OC universe) but since everyone knows my two favorite dorks i will share this concept if they were toons in F&F instead of crime express!!!

The fun thing about making pokemon aus is that the manga is just free real estate for me. I go on my little manga site and skim through the pages digging through pannels to make silly little edits

#i hope people know that when i make some au refs they are drawn over the offical art to make things easier. i always forget to say it #when i post #cause i think the refs are recognisable enough reguardless of how much I change them #also i would never edit or trace over fan art thats evil #i only ever edit or trace/draw over offical artwork because nintendo isnt losing money cause i made trevors fingernails pretty #or turned them all into marine animals #like screenshots ref and manga edits are clearly from offical media #im not claiming the original art or anything either so much as im claiming the changes too it or the work i put into it #like the splatoon references are all on separate layers and were hand redrawn with the offical refs as a base #same with like the revival au ref or the manga edits where i redraw the lineart so i can freely color #i do put the same ammount of effort into them as i do my real art #i just hope no one thinks “oh god kodi is tracing” 😒#oh damn i went on a whole rant in the tags! sorry i just real nervous about stuff #im making more manga edits btw with what little energy i got after work #3 day weekend will be dedicated to art i owe some friends

one thing that will be helpful in distinguishing ai art from real art: currently, ai art is racist and fatphobic

#i don't mean that the artworks themselves are those things #but ai currently cannot comprehend Black and fat people #humans generally can #but because of racism and fatphobia there are far less resources for ai to pull from for Black and fat art #so ai always spits out something that's been slimmed down and whitewashed #even if not completely #it was devastating for me to see an acquaintance of mine feel like she wasn't pretty unless she put herself through one of these things #but that made me realise this stupid fucking computer can't comprehend a fat person #and someone put a photo of a Black woman through the AI and it spat out a lighter skinned anime man #ergo: the algorithms are trained on racist and fatphobic biases and therefore are racist and fatphobic #i worry eventually the ai will generate decent looking hands.#but i suspect it will be a lot longer. if ever. for ai to generate images depicting Black and fat people.#thanks to the biases of a racist fatphobic society that have carried over to the AI.#- nyx (they/she)
