Here is a brief summary of what is happening in Wikipedia right now:
In the last few years (3-4 years) the WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America, which was originally created to improve the quality and coverage of native issues and native articles on wikipedia, has been hijacked by a small number of users with an extremist agenda. They have been working diligently over the last few years to change the definition of both what it means to be an Indigenous American and even what it means to be state and federally recognized.
The four or five key players (Mainly Editor Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, ARoseWolf, (now retired editor CorbieVreccan, Netherzone and Oncamera) who are part of the “Native American Articles Improvement Project” started implementing these changes slowly, but they started pursuing their goals aggressively after November 2023, when state-recognized tribes retained their voting rights in NCAI. Essentially, after the movement to delegitimize state-recognized tribes failed officially, the key players doubled down on altering and controlling the flow of information about Native Americans through Wikipedia.
The talk page of Lily Gladstone’s article has a relevant discussion here. Initially, the leaders of the WikiProject removed any reference to her being a “Native American Actress” and instead had her as “Self-identifying as Blackfoot” and “Self-identifying as Nez Perce” because her blood quantum was too low to be enrolled in either tribe.
You can see some of the discussion here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lily_Gladstone
Eventually they relented and changed her category to being “Of Nez Perce Descent” but you can see in the discussion that they are referring to an article that these editors (Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, and CorbieVreccan) themselves appeared to have mostly written and revised:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_identity_in_the_United_States
This statement is very much at odds with even the government’s description, as seen below;
The DOJ Office of Tribal Justice Office on their webpage “Frequently Asked Questions About Native American”, question “Who is an American Indian or Alaskan Native” states:
“As a general principle, an Indian is a person who is of some degree Indian blood and is recognized as an Indian by a Tribe and/or the United States. No single federal or tribal criterion establishes a person's identity as an Indian. Government agencies use differing criteria to determine eligibility for programs and services. Tribes also have varying eligibility criteria for membership.”
In addition, “List” pages have been created on Wikipedia for federally and state recognized tribes. The Wikipedia “List” page for state-recognized tribes is inaccurate in its interpretation of state recognition and not supported by expert reliable sources--(1) Cohen’s Handbook of Federal Indian Law 2012 edition, (2) NCSL.org current stand on state recognition (not the archived list from 2017 which NCSL no longer supports), (3) Koenig & Stein’s paper “Federalism and the State Recognition of Native American Tribes: a survey of state-recognized tribes and state recognition processes across the United States” (both 2008 & updated 2013 in book “ Recognition, sovereignty struggles, and indigenous rights in the United States: A sourcebook”)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State-recognized_tribes_in_the_United_States
State-recognized tribes who have received recognition through less formal but acceptable means have been moved from the Wikipedia list page on state-recognized tribes to the Wikipedia list page of unrecognized or self-identifying organizations.
The Wiki page "List of organizations that self-identify as Native American tribes", in particular, is being used to purposely defame legitimate Native American individuals who are members of the tribes/Native communities that are on this list.
By the parameters set up on Wikipedia, only the colonizer’s governments can acknowledge who is Native American through either federal recognition or state recognition. If an individual is not a member of a federally or state-recognized tribe, then it is determined that they cannot be Native American and are, instead, considered “self-identifying” or only “a descendant of ...” (example Lily Gladstone). As a result, Native individuals are currently being tagged as “self-identifying” and their names are put on “list” pages that strongly imply they are “pretend” Indians.
These editors have indicated that they would like “self-identification” to be the default setting for any people who they deem do not fit within the parameters that they themselves created within Wikipedia.
Moreof, these editors are admin and senior editors within the Wikiproject Indigenous Peoples of North America, and are being called in specifically to weigh on Native Identity, and any project involving any Indigenous Group.
Any attempt to correct misinformation, add information, or change any of these articles is often met with being blocked, reported for various offenses, or reported for having a Conflict of Interest, whether or not that is actually applicable. They have use this strategically in many different pages for many different individuals and groups within the scope of their Wikiprojects.
While changing things in Wikipedia does not change the truth, it is a way to control how most people take in information, and thus they hope to manipulate the narrative to better suit their goals.
This is quick and messy but:
Here is a link to the google document with the other state recognized tribes (Including yours) that were edited by these editors. This is an incomplete list so far that only goes back to September 2023 but I am going to add to it. If you can add to your own part of this list, and send your complaints and information to the arbitrator committee (the email is below) with the involved editors, this will help our case.
The more tribes who complain, and the more Wikipedia editors complain, the better our case will be.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YNDEjLTrrZ_mMIRCVxtvt69FwCYpJWKs71lBhWa5a9M/edit?usp=sharing
The place to make complaints on Wikipedia is oversight-en-wpwikipedia.org , and
arbcom-enwikimedia.org . It is most helpful to have an editing account on Wikipedia, because Yuchitown and the others will try to defend themselves using Wikipedia methodology and make anyone who confronts them look like the aggressor (see the other tribes who tried to fight back on Wikipedia I found).
The more people and tribes make complaints the more likely it is that this will work and we can rid ourselves of these monsters.
Some of the tribes I have spoken to are taking legal action against these editors. Any groups affected by their policies should also reach out to the news to make knowledge of this more widespread.
Thank you

Sources for Somerton's Plagiarism from Hbomberguy's Video (as much as I could get)
I went back through Harry's video, focused entirely on the sources James Somerton pulled from in the hopes of creating as much of a comprehensive list as I could--though my Google-Fu is not very strong. I did however find something I thought was forever lost and that made me very happy--specifically the magazine Midlands Zone containing the column by Steven Spinks that Harry poignantly used as an illustration of gay erasure... while Somerton uses it to sound like HE is waxing remorseful about the very subject.
This is not a complete list, I'm sure. For one thing, I was only able to attempt to pull sources that Harry himself mentioned in the video. Surely there's so very much more out there. I expect there to be a great deal more internet archeology to unearth just how much writing and culture Somerton has stolen like he's the British Museum of Natural History but for gay people.

Harry created a convenient playlist of videos by these and other people he wants to bring to everyone's attention.
Please give them your support.

Midlands Zone Magazine - Column by Steven Spinks
After a great deal of searching, I found an archive of the "Midlands Zone" magazine, where you can read through past issues dating all the way back to February 2014. I have also found the issue from which Somerton took Spinks' poignant discussion of gay erasure: Overall archive Specific Issue - Pages 16-17
It will not allow you to download it, but you can read it exactly as it appeared in print form.

I refrained from including certain sources.
First off only focusing on Somerton's work.
Secondly not including anything that might be visible enough to not require amplifying their voice (I cannot speak for all of those I have found links to, but journalism is frequently a thankless job).
Thirdly any source that is of a nature that is antithetical to the very existence of the queer community, such as the right-leaning source that didn't make it into Somerton's video, but Harry was able to identify as a source he had considered using.

The Real St. Judes: Gartloch Hospital - History (abridged)

The Scottish Lunacy Act of 1857 saw the creation of the Glasgow District Lunacy Board. The act, through these boards, aimed to establish and operate "district asylums", which would house patients unable to pay for the already existing "Royal Asylums".
In 1889, the Gartloch Estate was purchased by the City of Glasgow for approximately £8600 (~1 million today). The Glasgow District Lunacy Board were to turn it into an asylum for the mentally ill, and Gartloch Hospital would open in 1896.
In the early 1900s, a tuberculosis sanitorium was opened.

During World War II, Gartloch was temporarily transformed into an Emergency Medical Services Hospital; the psychiatric patients were transferred and housed in other hospitals. After the war, the tuberculosis sanitorium was shut.
Gartloch would fall into the hands of a different board (Board of Management for Glasgow North-Eastern Mental Hospitals), after joining the NHS in 1948.
Although there were 830 beds in 1904, by 1990 there were apparently only 530 - this being just under the amount available when it first opened.
In its last few years, Gartloch would fall under the Greater Glasgow Community and Mental Health Services NHS Trust. In 1996, the hospital officially closed, and was essentially abandoned, until 2003, when plans to turn Gartloch into a village began.
Now, there is a village, "Gartloch Village", surrounding the hospital. The main body, the iconic front we see in Donna Franceschild's TOTA, standing derelict and with boarded windows.

Oh, it's also apparently haunted, according to two nurses.
What was the hospital like?
I've nabbed these (like most of the other information - although I cross-referenced the rest (such as the years) from wikipedia and some other archives) from this article on hiddenglasgow.com.
I was born and lived at 2280 Gartloch Rd (East Cottages) of Gartloch Hospital. My Father, Bill Milne was the Bacteriologist at Gartloch Hospital Laboratory. My Mother was Helen and was the hospital hairdresser. My memories of Gartloch are the most wonderful memories ever. We had the most perfect childhood. The children of employees were involved in lots of differant ways. I remember especially the farm. Our house looked onto the busy fields and the Bishop Loch. We spent many happy summers pickinf tatties with the patients. And in the long cold winters, skating on the Bishop Loch. Christmad parties in the hospital involved all the staff, their children and patients. We got to know many of the patients who had been there most of their lives. Some had been admitted the the unit because of ''having a child out of wedlock'' I have so many stories to tell this page is not big enough! I would love to hear from anyone who remembers Gartloch or who lived/worked there.
Pattie Milne [04/02/2004]
I was talking with my gran t'other night about Gartloch (her maw died in there!) and she remembers these two women that used to walk about when she went visiting. One of them was about 4 foot nothing and the other about 6 foot. They walked up and down the hall, not saying a word to each other, but every now and then the taller one would repeatedly slap the little one on the head (that story seemed funnier when my gran told it!).
Crusty [30/01/2004]
There are a few more interesting stories on the linked article, so if you're interested, I recommend you check them out.
Finally: Takin' Over the Asylum (and other pop culture)
Takin' Over the Asylum aired on the 27th of September, 1994. The six-part drama was filmed in a disused wing of Gartloch, while the hospital was still open and functional. The hospital would close only 2 years after the airing of the show.

Gartloch's iconic, gothic towers would play a key role in the show, and be instantly recognisable to any viewer of TOTA.
Although it shut down in 1996, TOTA would not be the only media produced about the hospital. Wikipedia states that a film was produced in 2005, named (appropriately) "Gartloch Hospital", that covered the history of the hospital. This film went on to win an award in 2007, at the Scottish Mental Health Art and Film Festival, for "Best Factual Film".
Although hidden away, Gartloch hospital has an undeniably interesting history. Personal accounts from the hospital seem to paint it as a fun place, where patients and staff seemed to get along. Knowing the horrors of early mental health treatment, and the abuse many would suffer in these sort of places, we can only hope that these accounts are true and create an accurate image of life surrounding the hospital.
And I wrote all this because I really like David Tennant. Good night

Note the decorative peaks on the towers - they are absent from the rest of the photos. They were reportedly removed in the late 1930's.

I feel like I'm going crazy there's barely anything online about the actor who played M'Benga in two episodes of TOS: Booker Bradshaw.
with literally one of the most prolific fan communities in history how is barely nothing online about the guy. the three sources for the wikipedia page are:
His IMDB page, which isn't a real source
A PDF of someone's master's thesis from the 90s: "The African-American community of Richmond, Virginia: 1950-1956"
A google archive scan of an article in the Washington Afro-American from 1973, when he was the male lead playing opposite Pam Grier in her first leading role (per the movie's wikipedia, he gets shot in the dick and dies from it??)
And that's it???
From just those sources I want to know everything about this guy...his dad was a trustee of Virginia Union and Virginia State, he went to Harvard, spoke three languages, he was a Motown executive?? And played a character who is now a main character on an airing star trek show? I have questions and the internet is not providing answers

Do you have any more information about the Michel Carré/Paul Collin "Sleeping Beauty" opera? I had never heard of it until now.
I knew you were gonna ask ;)
And don't worry you're not the only one, I just heard about this very obscure thing today while doing my early post! In fact, when you go check the Wikipedia articles of both Michel Carré and Paul Collin, you find nothing about any potential work on a "Sleeping Beauty" production... The piece is however evoked, described and link when you go check the Wikipedia page for the fairy, Urgèle.
Now the source for this Wikipedia paragraph is actually a double link to two articles stored by Gallica - the online archive of the BNF (Bibliothèque Nationale Française, National French Library).
The first link is here.
This article is from a newspaper called "Les clochettes algériennes et tunisiennes" (Algerian and Tunisian bells) from the 10th of January 1904. It was a Franco-Algerian newspaper about literature, humor and commercial business published every sunday. In the "Theatrical Week" segment you can read that an "opéra féerique" (fairy-opera, "or so claims the poster" adds the journalist) had its premier at the Municipal Theater: La Belle au Bois Dormant, Sleeping Beauty by Michel Carré and Paul Collin with music by Charles Silver (who received a Great Prize of Rome).
There is a recap of the plot that goes as such. Princess Aurore (Aurora, played by Mme Rigaud-Labenz) was recently born, and her five fairy godmothers (Primevère, Rieuse, Brillante, Sensible, Prudente - Primrose, Laughing, Shining, Sensitive and Careful) call upon her health and happiness. The King, pleased, invites them to a copious feast, but suddenly arrives the wicked fairy Urgèle (played by Mme Corot). Angry at having been excluded of the christening, she casts a curse: if the princess falls in love when she is twenty years old, she will die. We jump sometimes later, before the twenty years are passed - the princess Aurore is wandering, sad and dreaming, in the palace's garden, but her father's reassurance that once she goes over her 20th year without falling in love she will be free from the curse convinces her to not take part in the various games and entertainments of her young female companions. However the Wandering Knight appears (played by M. Broca) - welcomed by the king, he finds himself alone with Aurore. He is very openly in love with her, but when she answers favorably to his advances, she falls in a deep sleep as well as all the inhabitants of the castle.
A hundred years later, arrives the Prince (also played by M. Broca) - as he arrives in a forest he learsn from a peasant woman named Jacotte (Mme Stéphane), wife of the peasant Barnabé (M. Vialar) that the castle he sees on the horizon contains a princess who will marry anyone that is able to wake her up. The prince recalls that one of his ancestors told him that, once he had kissed a princess and she had immediately fallen asleep. Barnabé, overhearing the Prince revealing this secret, decides to go wake the princess and become king - but he is too afraid by the forest at night when he tries to go to the castle, and after stumbling over a rod/bundle of wood, it suddenly lifts itself in the air, carrying Barnabé with it (think of a witch's broomstick). Right after Barnabé was carried off in the air, the Prince enters, still thinking about the princess, and in the fog he sees Aurore that calls for help and tells him she loves him. He immediately rushes to the depths of the wood. Meanwhile Urgèle, in her cavern/grotto, calls against the Prince all the spirits of evil, while the flying piece of wood drops Barnabé right next to her. Urgèle puts Barnabé in a royal suit and sends him wake up Aurore, while suddenly, in a flashing light, Primrose appears saying "Aurore will be free, the times are over!" - which turns Urgèle's grotto into a celestial dome filled with springtime flowers, benevolent spirits and butterflies. Despite many obstacles ("flames, monsters and gnomes"), the Prince wakes up Aurore with a kiss on the forehead. All the servants wake up, and the two young royals exchange love vows. The old royal garden becomes green and alive again, and the good fairies appear, with laying at their feet the wicked fairy, vanquished.
After this recap of the plot, the critic-journalist tells their opinion. They point out that "apparently" it was a success in Marseille and Lyon, while it is currently played in Alger at the Théâtre de la Monnaie. According to the reviewer, its success is due to the "scenic and féerique" part of the work, "because, in truth, the music is too rudimentary. It is a musical dictation carefully written by an applied student, without any spelling or grammar mistakes. M. Silver is a Prize of Rome, which means he knows the technique of his art in a deep way. Unfortunately, he is missing something that is not demande for the examinations: inspiration. Not everybody can have genius, but M. Silver reveals himself as a beginner talent who under-uses his own work. Among four acts and one prologue, not one dominant moment, not one spark that makes the well-tooled orchestra alive. The author aimed at a too great simplicity, and comes off with a too-great naivety. And yet isn't the musical formula smoothly handled by M. Silver the best way to strongly express spontaneous feelings?"
The reviewer than says the actors really did their best to portray the characters - Mme Rigaud-Labenz and M. Broca were, "as usual" a triumph and only deserve a flood of praise - while the other characters were "episodic", and were "correctly held". In conclusion "the staging was very entertaining, and the play deserves to be seen". And the reviewer's name is "Frontin"
[As a personal note, the sources keep oscillating between calling this an opera and a theater play... In fact, Frontin clearly seems to call this a play, even pointing out with some irony that the work claims itself to be an opera.]
As for the other article, given this is already quite a lot, I will add this into a reblog.

Also a Russian article about Alexander and Olga Nikolaevna: (so that it would not be difficult for you, translation)
Speaking about the loves of Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, it is impossible to ignore this one. Probably, it was a very short infatuation – maybe just a WILLINGNESS to fall in love – but it was this feeling that had every chance of getting continued. After all, Olga finally liked an equal in position: the prince of a foreign power.
In December 1913, Olga realized that her "sun" was Pavel Voronov (more?) he does not reciprocate her, and made several emotional entries about him in his diary, using a secret cipher. His behavior confuses and worries her, feelings are looking for a way out... on December 21, the denouement follows: "I found out that my S. is marrying Olga Kleinmichel. God send him happiness, my beloved S. It's hard. Sadly. He would be pleased." Olga also encrypted this entry. It would seem that the time has come to immerse yourself in experiences for a long time, but after a few weeks the mysterious cipher appears in the diary again. And if earlier he hid only declarations of love for Voronov, now Olga writes about something else (further encrypted fragments are italicized): "January 12. Alexander Serbian arrived (In Russian uniform. Wow, what eyes). January 15th. At 9:00, my Dad and Aunt and I went to St. Petersburg for the consecration of the new church of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God in honor of the 300th anniversary. It lasted from 10 to 1 ¼. Metropolitan, etc. A bright, large, good church. I was standing next to Alexander the Serbian, he was a little further away. Wow, wow what. January 17th. We had breakfast with Dad, Aunt, Kostya and Alexander. I sat with him. Cute, embarrassing and beautiful horror. Wow wow what. January 19th. Mom I don't know how. I fell asleep after 3 hours at night. God save her and everyone , and Alexander S. January 23. After in the Winter Courtyard. a big breakfast. Then we talked. I've been with Alexander for quite a long time. God save him. The 25th of January. We had breakfast with Papa, T. Olga, gr. Fredericks and Alexander S. He came to say goodbye. He's leaving in 2-3 days, it's a pity, dear."
Alexander Karageorgievich was 7 years older than Olga. He had a lot to do with Russia: he had Russian tutors, was the godson of Alexander III and the named son of Nicholas II; studied at the School of Jurisprudence and in the Page Corps in St. Petersburg. He became heir to the throne in 1909, after his elder brother George was forced to give up his rights to the throne under the pressure of a scandal. In the same year, Alexander almost asked for the hand of Princess Tatiana Konstantinovna. The Serbian minister and even the father-king personally made a cautious reconnaissance on this matter. But to the Konstantinovichs, the position of the Karageorgievich dynasty on the throne seemed too shaky. K.R., Tatiana's father, wrote in his diary: "I told her in detail about the claims of the Serbian court and about the reasons prompting us to advise her to refuse this offer. Although she rather likes Sandro Serbian, she did not hesitate to give him up." However, a year later the families still became related: Alexander's sister Elena married Grand Duke John Konstantinovich. For the Karageorgievichs, this was a great success, because they took the throne only in 1903 by a coup. In Europe, they were not really recognized, and not all Romanovs were disposed to them. In 1912-13, Alexander managed to show valor in the Balkan wars. And then he thought about getting married again, but now he was interested in the daughter of the tsar himself. ONLY WHICH ONE?

In this newspaper for November 1913, it was suggested that Olga would become the wife of Alexander of Serbia, and Tatiana – Karol of Romania. On the other hand, the English Wikipedia, with reference to Serbian archives, assures that Prime Minister Nikola Pasic wrote to Nicholas II in January 1914 about Alexander's intention to marry one of the Grand duchesses. Nikolai did not object and even noticed the interest that his daughter showed in the prince – but it was allegedly not Olga, but Tatiana. (And Russian Wikipedia generally assures: "Tatiana and Alexander wrote letters to each other until their death. When Alexander found out about Tatiana's murder, he was confused and almost committed suicide").Alexander's sister Elena, in her memoirs, which I have not yet been able to find, seemed to say that she noticed some "chemistry" between Alexander and Olga. Well, Olga's diary allows us to conclude that Alexander was not indifferent to her, and I think the Serbian heir himself paid attention to her. You can only guess what prevented you from taking the next step.In the spring, Olga is fond of Molokhovets, then the war begins, but all this does not prevent her from remembering Alexander on various occasions:"February 24.At 12 o'clock my mother received the Bavarian, Belgian, Danish and Serbian envoys (Nalajovic. So reminds Alexander C).February 25.(in small print: I haven't seen Alexander for a month since)March 25.I haven't seen Alexandra for 2 months. <...>(added, apparently, later) I haven 't seen Alexander S. for 2 months .September 4.The Pope gave Alexander of Serbia the St. George Cross 4 art . I am very happy. God help me.October 6.John, Gabriel and Kostya and Elena had lunch. They told me a lot of interesting things. She's a piece of Alexander, and I love her.October 16.At 7 o'clock we went to the infirmary with Mom, we went to everyone, and talked to K. and I. in the corridor. Everyone knows Alexander by his body."

Alexander was a thin brunette with a mustache and large facial features (and with "WOW" eyes) – this is exactly the type of appearance that has always attracted Olga. Besides, apparently, he was a really nice person. "The prince turned out to have a kind and friendly character," writes the grandson of his tutor, the famous priest Gleb Kaleda. "To please his tutor, the prince wrote to him in Russian, asking for forgiveness in advance for possible mistakes, although there were none." He was remembered as a tactful person, sometimes shy and prone to melancholy, a lover of reading – there is some similarity with Olga's character.Olga did not see Alexander again, but a year later she noted in her diary the anniversary of his arrival:"January 12, 1915.The year that I saw Alexander at Vsevolod's christening.January 15th.The year is consecrated. churches. Alexander.January 17th.Mordvinov and Count Fredericks were having breakfast. And a year ago Alexander. God bless him."It seems that even in the spring of 1916, Pasic expressed the hope that Olga would become the Serbian queen. But in January of this year, the date of the meeting with Alexander was not noted in the diary. At this time, Olga hardly thought about anyone other than Dmitry Shah-Bagov. (By the way, here her fate again intersects with the fate of Tatiana Konstantinovna, who was very friendly with the elder daughters of Nicholas II. Instead of the Serbian prince, she married a simple Caucasian officer for love, and he even served in the Erivan regiment – like Olga's lover. Because She even knew Shah Bagov and calls him a "cute, cute boy" in a letter. Surely Olga was thinking about what could repeat her path). But in 1917 Olga remembers again:"January 17th. Exactly 3 years ago today Alexander Serbsky had breakfast with us." Here the name is also written in cipher, and this is the last encrypted entry in the diary.
Olga Nikolaevna's biographers like to repeat that she wanted to stay in Russia, so she did not marry the Romanian heir Karol. The interest in Alexander the Serbian shows that, most likely, it was not in the country: it was just Karol who was unsympathetic to Olga. I think she understood that sooner or later she would have to leave her homeland. It is unlikely that the rumors had passed her by, she knew who her husbands were supposed to be, and she did not mind falling in love with a cute Orthodox prince. Maybe by the beginning of 17, she returned to thinking about him because someone had dispelled her hopes for a happy morganatic marriage? Although what could be a wedding when the revolution is already at the threshold. What kind of fate would await her in a small semi-literate kingdom, forever torn apart from the outside and from the inside?Alexander married in 1922 the sister of the same Karol (there is a version that he dragged on for so long, because until then he did not believe in the death of Olga). It seems that he became a good family man, ruled his country for more than 10 difficult years. Yugoslavia in the 20s became a fragment of the Russian Atlantis, the center of white emigration. Sometimes there is an opinion that Alexander was so supportive of Russian refugees in memory of his first love – "Olga/Tatiana." But I think Russia meant a lot to him anyway. Alexander was killed in 1934 by a terrorist, his family fled the Nazis during the war and never returned to their homeland. Well, instead of Maria, Olga could become a Romanian widow and exile… No matter how her fate turned out, it would not be easy. The time of the Slavic monarchs has passed.
Thank you for sharing!!

Hi! I dont often use tumblr anymore or send in asks but i wanted to enquire about autumn de wildes photos of panic! That where featured in spin magazine, i figured if anybody knew them it would be you. I checked Autumns wikipedia page and there is an archived article under her name however the photos of panic! That go along with it weren’t archived and the page no longer exists.

(This is the page, the tour gallery is completely wiped)
I know that Autumn did Ryans bird makeup initially as well as probably his lightning bolt look, these are the photos that i have a strong inclination to believe are taken by Autumn

My girlfriend and i are absolutely huge fans of pre split panic! As well as Autumn De Wilde so i figured there was no harm in asking if you knew anything more! Thanks so much :)
Hi! Yes, Autumn took some incredible pics while shadowing the band in July 2006. This is my tag for any of her pics I've uploaded so far (many of which were from the old gallery you mentioned). Here are my thoughts on the makeup look that Autumn did. And then this is random but I'll throw it in here too:

When I googled "Gerald Posner" I expected to find out he's not a doctor. And he's not, of course. He's an investigative reporter.
According to his wikipedia page, the Chicago Tribune once described Posner as "a merciless little pitbull of an investigator." That quality's nowhere in evidence in the article JKR retweeted. The tepid concern trolling about puberty blockers will be so familiar to trans people, you'd swear it was written by ChatGPT. Here's the archive if you find yourself compelled to read it: https://archive.is/Lzozj
Posner was the lead investigative reporter for The Daily Beast, a position he was fired from in 2010 for plagiarism. Some commentary on that from the reporter who broke the story: https://web.archive.org/web/20120122130951/http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/press_box/2010/02/the_posner_plagiarism_perplex.html
That revelation brought forth a landslide of other plagiarism accusations. Chunks of some of his biggest popular history books were plagiarized and contained misattributed and altered quotes. https://web.archive.org/web/20120111035829/https://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2010/05/gerald_posner_plagiarized_in_w.php for eight pages of side by side comparisons (and a report of Posner's clumsy attempts to edit wikipedia to take out references to the plagiarism.)
About a year later (possibly still short on cash due to his professional disgrace?) Posner helped Harper Lee's literary agent trick her into assigning him her copyright and misappropriated her To Kill a Mockingbird royalties using knowledge from his pre-journalism law career. A brief article: https://web.archive.org/web/20130607221801/http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/agent_is_atticus_filch_dHGLvpNU7ivrWxftqQSlwL
And a longer one if you don't trust the Post: https://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2013/08/harper-lee-dispute-royalties
A serial plagiarist and a scammer of sick old women. Rowling sure knows how to pick 'em doesn't she?

Spelman Seminary, companionship, Sophia B. Packard, and Harriet E. Giles

Harriet Elizabeth "Hattie" Giles and Sophia Brett Packard in a photograph sometime before 1891. Image from Spelman College Archives and NYPL.
In 1881, Sophia Brett Packard founded Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary with her longtime companion, Harriet E. Giles. The school would later be renamed Spelman Seminary in 1884 in honor of John D. Rockefeller's wife, Laura Celestia "Cettie" Spelman, who was an active abolitionist and school teacher, since the latter had paid the balance to keep the school open, which opened its doors in 1888. Sophia would continue onward on the school's board of trustees, then as president until her death in June 1891, when there were 464 students and faculty of 34. There's more to this story than the four paragraphs on Sophia's Wikipedia page.
Sophia, my fifth cousin five times removed, was born in New Salem, Massachusetts in January 1824 to Winslow Packard (1790-1852) and Rachel Freeman (1788-1844). She had five siblings: Joseph Fairbanks (1812-1883), Jane (b. 1815), Mary (1815-1838), Hubbard Vaughn (1817-1861), and Rachel Maria (b. 1818). She would graduate from the Charleston Female Seminary in Massachusetts, work at the Connecticut Literary Institution in Suffield, be secretary for the American Baptist Home Mission Society. By the early 1880s she was committed to helping improve education for Black people, specifically Black women, in the South. She would later be described as a "woman of rare executive ability" and having an earnest, strong character. [1]
There is more to be said. You may have noticed earlier that I described Harriet E. Giles as her life-long companion. This is first evidenced by the fact that Sophia died from sickness while on a summer vacation with Harriet, and would be buried in Athol, Massachusetts. Harriet, who lived until 1909, and born in New Salem, Massachusetts like Sophia, would become the president of Spelman Seminary when Sophia died. One writer would call Harriet and Sophia a lesbian power couple, noting that they met each other in the mid-1850s when Harriet was a student at New Salem Academy and Sophia was the preceptor. Both would be buried next to one each other in Silver Lake Cemetery. They would also be described as "close friends and supportive coworkers" by Harry G. Lefever in his article on the early origins of Spelman College. He also noted note the New England-progressive outlook they brought to the school, noting their emphasis on liberal and industrial courses, but employed assumptions about gender roles, which became part of the curriculum while being self-sacrificing and putting others before themselves. At the same time, they never fundamentally challenged social injustices or inequities, either by staying silent about redistribution of land for formerly enslaved peoples, not actively lobbying to end lynching within the South, or having Black people in leadership positions. [2]
Further evidence shows Harriet and Sophia living together in Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut in 1860, within the Mather household, in this below census extract:

Sophia and Harriet are highlighted by a yellow box. Source is 1860 United States Federal Census for Sophia B Packard, Connecticut, Hartford, Suffield, Year: 1860; Census Place: Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut; Roll: M653_79; Page: 667; Family History Library Film: 803079
The same is the case in 1865, when they are living in the same household in Worcester, Massachusetts, along with many other teachers and students. She would still be living in Worcester, Massachusetts until at least 1867. At first I couldn't find her in the 1870 census, and her 1890 passport application does not mention Harriet. However, digging into it more, I found them together in Suffolk, Massachusetts, and it turns out that Harriet submitted a passport application at the same time as Sophia. Additionally, when Harriet died in November 1909 of pneumonia, an obituary in The Sumpter Enterprise at the time described Sophia as Harriet's "friend and co-worker". The Atlanta Constitution would use similar language in their obituary. They were both called "devoted Christian woman" in another article about Spellman, which isn't surprising considering Sophia had worked in a church and what became Spellman was originally in the basement of a church before moving to a new location. [3]
Otherwise, a 1853 student lists for New Salem Academy note that Harriet's father, Samuel, is the secretary of the academy, Harriet as a teacher of music. Sophia is not listed there. However, she is listed as a preceptress in 1855 and Samuel is still secretary of the school, and Harriet is a student in the school's classical department. I also found them together in the 1880 census, boarding on 275 Shawmut Avenue (which is seemingly just an apartment building) in Boston within the Ryder household, along with many other boarders. [8] Harriet would also write a moving eulogy to Sophia, and mentions "loving companionship" which is undoubtedly a way to allude to the romantic relationship they had together, whether it can be called a domestic partnership, romantic friendship, or something else:
It is not necessary to euloigize one so widely known. Her work speaks for her; and the monuments she has erected, will endure from generation to generation, in the lives made better by her influence. How large her bundle of sheaves! How thickly studded her crown with stars for those she has won to Christ! We mourn not for her, but for the work, and the workers who will so greatly miss her loving companionship and wise counsels. Surely "They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever."
Both also opened the Rollstone School in March 1859 together, which ended after both accepted teaching positions at the Connecticut Literary Institution. They both, would also, teach at the Oread Institute in Worchester from 1864 to 1867, with Sophia as co-principal and Harriet as teacher of ornamentals and music. They also both co-founded the Woman's American Baptist Home Mission Society in 1877.

"Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles with Spelman Seminary Students" in 1886, via National Alumnae Association of Spelman College
Spelman Seminary would later become Spelman College when its name changed in 1924. Otherwise, one article in The Springfield Daily Republican on November 25, 1939, possibly accessed using one of the libraries here, notes that an oil painting of Harriet was gifted to the Swift River Valley Historical Society. It is likely still in their collections, even though it is strange since the society wasn't incorporated until 1962.
While we don't know everything about Sophia, Harriet, and their relationship, which some have described as an iconic same-sex couple among many others, we can say that their legacy certainly lives on to this day.

Going Upstream with Doge
For this week's assignment, I decided to research one of my favorite memes on the Internet: Doge! As most people know, the Doge meme has evolved into quite the trend, especially after the Crypto currency "Dogecoin" hit its peak in 2021. Being a dog lover, I've just always been fond of the funny-looking Shiba Inu's face and occasionally wondered where the picture originated from.
I began my investigating by simply Google searching "Doge". As expected, many different versions of the meme appeared, but I chose to click on one of the very first options, which was the original, unedited image. This image was posted to a news outlet named CNET, who published an article called "The Shiba Inu dog behind the doge meme turns 16".
After reading CNET's article, I learned that Doge's real name is Kabosu! She is currently 17 years old and lives in Japan with her owners, who run an Instagram page called @kabosumama. By using this information, I researched further into the social media pages of Kabosu, in hopes of finding the original post. Eventually, I ended up on Wikipedia's page for Doge, which stated that Kabosu's owners also run a blog, which is where the original, unedited picture was first published.
Upon scrolling through owner, Atsuko Sato's online blog, you can view hundreds of adorable photos of Kabosu and her cat! What I found super interesting is that Atsuko obviously understands how much the Internet loves her dog, so she created a "History" tab on this blog, where you can view a timeline of photos posted all the way back to 2010. Atsuko's only current upload of the original "Doge" image was last posted on January 4th, 2014, which is 4 years after the picture went viral. It is uncertain as to what happened to the very initial post, which allowed the sharing of Kabosu to go viral on Reddit. On her 01/04/2014 blog post, Atsuko stated "This photo of Kabosu was used as a meme. The meme is apparently called "Doge"". Throughout this blog, thousands of images can be seen that prove Atsuko of being the rightful owner of Kabosu and has frequently expressed her attention towards the viral meme through captions and photographs. Below are two of my favorite pictures that I screenshotted from Kabosu's official Instagram page!

[ID: various text-heavy images.
image 1 is a post from a 4chan anon with an image of the philosopher arthur Schopenhauer.
first paragraph of text is greentext which reads, "Schopenhauer thought once again of getting married. He turned his attentions to Flora Weiss, a beautiful, spirited girl who has just turned 17. During a boating party, in an attempt to charm her, he smiled and offered her a bunch of white grapes. Flora later confided in her diary: "I didn't want them. I felt revolted because old Schopenhauer had touched them, and so I let them slide, quite gently, into the water behind me." Schopenhauer left Berlin in a hurry, concluding "Life has no genuine intrinsic worth, but is kept in motion merely by want and illusion."
second paragraph is regular text from the 4channer reading "fucking lol."
image 2 is a wikipedia screenshot, presumably about schopenhauer, reading "He sent another essay, 'On the Basis of Morality', to the Royal Danish Society for Scientific Studies, but did not win the prize despite being the only contestant."
image 3 is text reading as follows:
You are not an evil human; you are not without intellect and education; you have everything that could make you a credit to human society. Moreover, I am acquainted with your heart and know that few are better, but you are nevertheless irritating and unbearable, and I consider it most difficult to live with you.
All of your good qualities become obscured by your super-cleverness and are made useless to the world merely because of your rage at wanting to know everything better than others; of wanting to improve and master what you cannot command. With this you embitter the people around you, since no one wants to be improved or enlightened in such a forceful way, least of all by such an insignificant individual as you still are; no one can tolerate being reproved by you, who also still show so many weaknesses yourself, least of all in your adverse manner, which in oracular tones, proclaims this is so and so, without ever supposing an objection.
If you were less like you, you would only be ridiculous, but thus as you are, you are highly annoying.
final lines, aligned right, read: "johanna schopenhauer / letter to her son, the philosopher arthur schopenhauer / 6 november 1807."

Kristal Anne Reisinger, age 29 (at time of disappearance), missing from Crestone, CO since July 13, 2016. Foul play suspected.

Foul play suspected in case of missing mother
This is an archived article and the information in the
Reisinger case.
CRESTONE, Colo. — Former Denver resident Kristal Anne Reisinger, 29, moved to a small town near the Sangre de Cristo Mountains seeking religious enlightenment.
Then around July 13, 2016, she disappeared.
KRISTAL ANNE REISINGER
Over the past year, the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office has transformed its investigation from that of a missing person to a case of suspected foul play.
Two detectives from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation have also joined the team looking into what might have happened to Reisinger.
Although those closest to her hope she is alive, detectives believe it’s likely Reisinger met a more sinister fate.
CRESTONE AS SPIRITUAL CENTER
The area surrounding Crestone long has been considered sacred ground by the Navajo Nation.
Visitors in the summer come in droves to see the raw beauty of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at sunset and walk through the nearby Great Sand Dunes.
The population of the town is only 143 people.
The three-by-three-block downtown consists of an organic grocery store, coffee shop, ice cream parlor, gas station and a small brewery/restaurant.
Several thousand more “truth-seekers” live in the surrounding hills, drawn by Crestone’s reputation as the “New Age Religious” capital of the world.
Nearly every dirt road outside town leads to a temple, a sect or a religious compound.
Reisinger was one of those who left the busy city life of Denver, hoping Crestone’s spiritual centers would bring her peace and happiness.
Eli Guana, Kristal Anne Reisinger’s ex-boyfriend
“She was definitely on a spiritual path,” said Elijah Guana, Reisinger’s former boyfriend. “She was practicing Tarot cards, and was really into Hindu and Buddhism.
“Really into Native American traditions (and) the nature of raising consciences and living a peaceful life. Her motto was ‘do no harm.’”
Reisinger seemingly fit right in. She sang vocals with a local band, Stimulus, making enough of an impression they called their latest album the “Kristal-Missive.”
Around July 13, 2016, only a month after moving into an upper-floor apartment near the heart of town, Reisinger’s friends and family started to worry. They hadn’t seen or heard from her.
Rodney Ervin was one of the first to head toward Crestone to investigate why she stopped her routine calls back home.
His children and Reisinger had long been friends, and she had lived at the Ervin household for a number of years after a falling out with her mother.
KRISTALS APARTMENT IN CRESTONE
When Ervin went into Reisinger’s apartment, he had a bad feeling.
“The day before (she disappeared), she had purchased a number of her favorite health food items: Veggie burgers and almond milk. Shampoo and conditioner were new in the shower. Her medicine was on the ‘fridge’ and being used,” Ervin said.
When asked if there was “any sign in that apartment that she was going to pack up and leave,” Ervin responded, “Absolutely not. Absolutely no sign.”
SAGUACHE COUNT SHERIFF DAN WARWICK
According to Saguache County Sheriff Dan Warwick, Reisinger had previously gone on a two-week “walk-about,” so at first, deputies wondered if that was a possible explanation.
However, after a month, red flags were up for one reason: A 4-year old little girl named Kasha.
Reisinger and Guana had a daughter. Reisinger phoned Kasha nearly every day and night, staying connected while she was trying to settle into a new life in Crestone.
Guana said it’s heartbreaking to try to explain to their girl why mom hasn’t come home.
KASHA REISINGER
“To this day, she still asks for her, wants to call her on the phone. She doesn’t really understand that she’s gone. She thinks she’s just somewhere,” Guana said.
Guana and Ervin started putting up missing person flyers and talking to residents about what they might know or have heard.
And the sheriff’s office started ramping up its investigation, trying to narrow down a time and place where Reisinger was last seen.
Drum circle, last place where Kristal Reisinger was seen
One thing many locals agree on is she attended what is called the “drum circle.”
Held on the night of a full moon, it’s a religious ceremony and a wild party held at a campground on the outskirts of town.
Reisinger’s landlord and casual friend Ara McDonald said Reisinger had “been partying a lot” in the weeks leading up to the drum circle ceremony.
McDonald had received several complaints from other tenants in the complex that some “sketchy” people had been coming to Reisinger’s residence.
ASA MCDONALD , LANDLORD
When she went to collect July’s rent, McDonald said she encountered a teary-eyed Reisinger.
“She answered the door crying. Really distraught, saying that she’d been to a party the night before,” McDonald said.
“(She said she’d been) given a bunch of drugs and she couldn’t remember for sure, but someone had taken advantage of her.”
McDonald encouraged her to tell police, something Reisinger said she was considering.
With that conversation in mind, shortly after Reisinger disappeared, McDonald found her tenant’s dead cellphone in the apartment. She found a charger and said she played Reisinger’s messages.
“From what was on her phone, it seems like she was on her way someplace. She needed to go someplace,” McDonald said.
According to McDonald and multiple sheriff’s sources, the last person to have called Reisinger is a local man with a felony criminal history of assaulting and drugging a victim.
Investigators have asked to withhold the name of the potential suspect.
Sheriff’s deputy Wayne Clark, who also resides in Crestone, said officials are tracking down every possible lead, along with the help of the CBI.
Clark said officials are working on multiple theories of what might have happened, from homicide to suicide to a deadly drug overdose.
Clark believes “someone who went to the drum circle ceremony knows what happened that night — that there are people in Crestone who have information which can crack open this case.”
Warwick called in helicopters, tracking and cadaver dogs, and lots of search volunteers to look for Reisinger, but so far, they’ve found nothing significant.
As a year has passed, Warwick said he now suspects foul play.
“We’re not saying it is, but there is always that chance,” Warwick said. “For her to be gone this long is unusual, so that heightens the chances of foul play being involved. She didn’t just take off and not come back. She left everything she owns behind.”
SAND DUNES NEAR CRESTONE
Given the remote expansiveness of the area, Warwick admitted if something bad did happen to Reisinger, finding her body without specific intelligence is a tall task.
“Anybody who has spent anytime over there knows it’s all mountain. It’s one huge mountain and it’s hard to search every bit of that mountain,” Warwick said.
The sheriff also confirmed there are persons of interest connected to Reisinger’s disappearance and some “have colorful nicknames.”
“I’ll go to my grave believing that somebody had something to do with her disappearance,” Ervin said. “And not because that’s what she wanted. I just don’t believe there is any other explanation. Somebody in this town knows and they’re too much of a coward to come forward.”
Guana said he misses Reisinger’s laugh and the time they spent together with Kasha.
He said he remains hopeful Resinger is still alive, but he also admits it’s becoming more unlikely by the day. His latest hope is that justice will prevail.
“I want to say some really choice, aggressive words, but it doesn’t bring anyone back. Doesn’t bring her back,” Gauna said. “I believe in karma. Even if they don`t get caught, its going to come around.”
☎️
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 719-655-2525.
Reisinger’s friends are also offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to solving the case.

Arrogant curators, a pine-cone shaped vault, and a magical scroll in "Tangled" [Part 1]
Rapunzel shows the incomplete, and ripped, Demantis Scroll to Calliope in the episode "Keeper of the Spire"
Building off last month's post, I thought I'd focus on one character in the Tangled animated series in particular: Calliope. She is a keeper of the Spire, a closed-off museum of sorts, who is pretentious and arrogant. But, there is more than meets the eye, which I'll examine in this post, and talk about the role of curators, the difference from archivists, and other related topics, going beyond my past post on the subject.
Reprinted from my Wading Through the Cultural Stacks WordPress blog. Originally published on May 17, 2023.
On the surface, it seems that Calliope (Natalie Palamides), who debuts in the episode "Keeper of the Spire", is full of herself, annoying Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), Eugene (Zachary Levi), Lance (James Monroe Iglehart), and Cassandra (Eden Espinosa), who are hoping to get information on the Demantis Scroll. She also can do magic tricks, as a former street magician, and has a messy library in her house with various artifacts. It turns out, spoilers, that she is only the assistant of the actual keeper (Tony Amendola), who put her on a test to see if she was up to the task, and opens the Spire, a vault filled with artifacts. In the end, Raps gets the scroll she is looking for, and all seems well, as Calliope is now the keeper and presumably becomes more of a scholar. The real keeper is impressed by her perseverance even in adversity.
She is generally stereotypical, wearing oversized glasses, hair tied back in a bun, and wears beige robes. She later helps Raps and Eugene in stopping Cass from acquiring a specific object from within the Spire. In that episode, "Race to the Spire", Cass wants to acquire a spell that can allow her to control those in the brotherhood, even disguising herself as Calliope to trick Raps, Eugene, and Pascal. Her appearance is somewhat in line with librarians in other series, often portrayed as elderly people with glasses. Her hair being tied up could be a hint that she is a spinster, i.e. usually uptight old women who are "sexually undesirable", and rule-mongers, with conservative dress. It is something associated with fictional librarians.
However, in some other ways she goes against stereotypes of fictional librarians as she is not male, with a long beard, or with glasses, even though she is White, common of librarians in animation. These stereotypes are also manifested in elderly White women librarians. While saying all of this, she is not a librarian, and is more of a curator. Specifically, she is described as a keeper in the aforementioned two episodes she appears in. What I wrote about the keepers in my article about Recorded by Arizal is relevant here:
Keepers are curators, guardians, protectors, custodians, caretakers, or guards who visually lay hold onto something, like records, similar to roles that archivists have....the International Council on Archives and archival scholars like Alan Bell, Caroline Brown, Terry Eastwood, and Terry Cook have stated that the words recordkeeper and archivist are synonyms. After all, archivists are more than what Webster’s New World College Dictionary defines: people in charge of archives where public records and documents are kept.
Her name, Calliope, is likely a reference to the Greek mythological muse who presides over epic poetry and eloquence, with so-called harmony coming from her voice. Her character, however, is the opposite of this, or at least it seem that way at first. As noted on her Wikipedia page, in the aforementioned mythology she had two famous songs (Orpheus and Linus), said to be the wisest of the Muses, but also the most assertive, defeated daughters in a singing match. Otherwise, the page notes that she is often shown with a writing tablet, carrying a book or roll of paper, even wearing a gold crown. In his 2020 "Mother of Muses" song, Bob Dylan declares he is "falling in love with Calliope", and says she "doesn't belong to anybody".
Since Calliope becomes the Keeper, she is undoubtedly a curator, what the Dictionary of Archives Terminology calls "the administrative head of a museum or collection". She is not, however, an individual responsible for the "oversight of a collection or an exhibition", the other definition in the dictionary. As the one-and-only Keeper, i.e. effectively a solo archivist or lone arranger, although she has no formal training, she is also responsible for "appraising, acquiring, arranging, describing, preserving, and providing access to a collection of original documents", a manuscript curator, on one level or another.

Woah, somehow I didn't know Lena Raine was trans? :O
[ID: snippets of a web-archived interview with Lena Raine in 2015 called "Interview: A Conversation with Lena Chappelle" by pinkfae.org. The snippets read as follows:
You came out as transgender while having a large portfolio of work already created. Has it been difficult to ensure that your work was associated with you under your new name?
It really depends on the work. A lot of what I’ve done outside of the games industry is my own copyright, so it’s mostly been lots of menial work to update literally as many things as I can remember to update. With my music credits at ArenaNet, once I was out, I chatted with the main composer Maclaine Diemer, who is also a good friend, and within a day every track on Soundcloud had been updated to my new name. And with Guild Wars 2 as a whole, the community has had my back from day one, which I’m amazingly grateful for. We have a Wiki page for the game that’s updated solely by players. Before I’d even thought to check, a new entry had been created for me, the dead name page redirected, and bio revised to the right name and pronouns. I was moved to tears, it was so amazing.
On a final note, is there any advice you have for trans people who may be planning on coming out, especially those who are employed?
The experience of coming out, anywhere, varies so wildly depending on the location, the people involved, the circumstances. Speaking to just the employment part, the best place to start is evaluating how your workplace would respond. Are there transgender folks already out and working there? That’s always a great sign. Is the workplace LGBT-friendly to start with? Being friendly to the first three letters doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll respect the T but it’s at least closer to comfortable. How comfortable are you with your coworkers? They’re all things you’ll have to consider.
I can’t even really quantify all the things that went through my head in the run up to finally coming out. I wrote five drafts of a letter I never even sent, planned out who I’d tell and in what order, of which my workplace was one of the final steps. The most important thing to consider, I think, is what feels right to you. The world is gradually becoming more and more aware and accepting of trans folks, but sometimes a clean break is necessary to move on and live a healthier day-to-day life as your true self. I was lucky to have such understanding family, friends and coworkers, but I’m the exception.

I FOUND IT! It's not from a scientific study, but it's from an article written in 1989 by Rex Wockner (he has a Wikipedia page) in which he interviews a doctoral student completing her dissertation on "Reproductive Behavior In Rams." Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure where it was first published, but it was reprinted Out in All Directions: A Treasury of Gay and Lesbian America. I found an archived version of the article on the Web Archive if you wanna read it for yourself (I think the author just copied and pasted the article in its entirety on a forum post LMAO but that's just speculation).
The article states:
Lesbian sheep, meanwhile, are apparently wrestling with a major "invisibility" problem in the gay sheep world, a difficulty that has plagued human lesbians too.
"It's very difficult to look at the possibility of lesbian sheep," Perkins explained, "because if you are a female sheep, what you do to solicit sex is stand still. You don't mount. So, it's very rare that a female sheep would mount another female sheep."
"Maybe there is a female sheep out there really wanting another female," Perkins speculated, "but there's just no way for us to know it."
In addition to the rams who are practicing homosexuals, another eight percent of Perkins' ram population fail to express interest in any kind of sex. "They have a very low libido," she explained.
Whether you believe the info is reliable is up to you
My girlfriend is annoyed that I insist our lesbian sheep roleplay is zoologically accurate and thus we can't have sex, we just face away from each other and wait for the other to top
#this took so fucking long#sorry for deleting the first version of the reblog! i wanted to make sure i got the info right#chewing glass#i guess??? idk

Ok I know my tennis posts are usually just me rambling to myself lol BUT this is really important and it’s been on my mind all day... just before I start ranting I should say this goes into detail about domestic abuse and suicide
I’ve talked about this before but there’s this German player called Alexander Zverev who was very credibly accused of domestic abuse by his ex girlfriend, a woman called Olya Sharypova. Olya’s story (along with evidence such as photos of bruises, screenshots of text messages, accounts from friends and witnesses) is outlined in two articles by the journalist Ben Rothenberg- Zverev won an injunction to get them blocked in some areas of Europe but if you go on his wikipedia page you can view the archived versions, they’re tough reads but worth it
Anyway the ATP were doing an investigation into her accusations- the main 3 incidents referred to in the articles were the US Open, Shanghai Masters and the Laver Cup (which isn’t technically an ATP event but they’re affiliated), basically these incidents happened at their events so they’re obliged to ‘investigate’ I can’t remember which one it was but at one point Olya was so distressed that she tried to take an overdose and when Zverev found her he got a tournament official before any medical attention... so they can’t act like they had no idea what was going on
The ‘investigation’ took 16 months and today they declared that there is ‘insufficient evidence to substantiate published allegations of abuse’ and obviously the usual suspects are quick to yell that he must be innocent... insufficient evidence doesn’t mean he didn’t do it, it just means it couldn’t be proved. And given that it took 4 months for them to even speak to Olya I can’t say that I have much faith in how thorough it was. I just feel awful for her, she’s been so brave in coming forward and she deserves much better than this half arsed investigation
It was almost a year ago that Zverev was defaulted from a match for trying to hit an umpire, at the time it seemed very telling- if he was willing to do that in front of an entire audience and TV cameras then what is he like in private? Olya has photos of her bruises, her story has been backed up by family friends, she is very credible and people are acting like she’s out to ruin his life. She’s had so much abuse online after coming forward, what exactly does she have to gain if no one really believes her and the ATP don’t care?
Zverev isn’t the first either. Nick Kyrgios is in court next month for common assault of his girlfriend, and Nikoloz Basilashvili was recently found not guilty of domestic violence against his wife... after the judge asked why his wife didn’t say anything sooner and the court staff were all asking for pictures and autographs. Yeah, that screams unbiased and fair trial 🙄 to a certain extent I get why the ATP don’t want to act on claims that haven’t been proved, but given how little effort they put into ‘investigating’ this and how hard they’ve tried to cover it up (blocking people on twitter who mention it, vaguely referring to it as ‘legal trouble’ etc), it really seems like they just don’t care. They spent a long time marketing Zverev as their golden boy so I think that’s a big part of it
I don’t know where I’m going with this, I just feel so angry and deflated about the whole thing. Olya deserves better and it’s so depressing to think how this can happen and people pretend to care but really they don’t. And how women are so quick to be accused of lying even when they have loads of evidence, meanwhile Zverev has literally behaved violently in public and loads of excuses are made for him
