He was literally scouted by Hope's Peak Academy because he is very best at being the best boy. He is so hell bent on being the best student possible, that when the killing game starts his first concerned with not being able to attend classes. He's so hard working that he struggles to socialize with his peers (which is very relatable). When he tries to step in as the class leader, everyone else ignores him (which is also relatable). He naturally talks loud and doesn't seem aware of how strongly he comes off when talking to others. But even when he is scolding someone for their misbehavior, he does so because he wants to bring out the best in them. Kiyotaka puts 300% into everything he does on principal (and because he feels like it is his duty to restore his family's name). Many of his Free Time events center around him trying to figure out the "logic" in what other people do (such as why they would spend time playing video games/watching TV or why Makoto wears his jacket when it is against the school's dress code). Ishimaru Kiyotaka is easily one of the most autistic-coded characters in the Danganronpa series."

Hi sorry I died for a while but I've been waiting for my computer to be fixed so I can draw pretty stuff again (yes it's taken like 6 months). Now please consider my thoughts on what animals different danganronpa characters would be

I tried to make sure there weren't any duplicates unless the characters are related and some of these I've put more thought into lol

Yasuhiro is a goat but like the fainting ones because it sounds funny and I can see him freezing up and falling over.

Junko and ikusaba are both chihuahuas because they're super cute but stereotypically people say they're little demons and that fits junko, she seems innocent but is just a big meanie. And I see ikusaba as being like a buff chihuahua who's all awkward but could eat you alive.

Makoto and Komaru are ferrets, ferrets need other ferrets for inrichment and that's basically makoto he wants friends to be happy. Also I think ferrets are very silly, I have 4 named noodle, little man, chonk, and rebel (like Starbuck).

Kyoko is a cat, I felt like a cat could match many different characters but I believe that she fits a cat the most. Cats are cute but pretty solitary also I think it matches with the fact she isn't very scary compared to some characters (ik she's like mysterious type scary and stone cold but I think she's a cutie).

Fukawa is a skunk bc she's stinky.

Byakuya is a cheetah and I thought about this quite a bit, I had a few different ideas on what to pick but honestly I think since he's blonde he's obviously a cheetah!! Duh!!

Asahina is an otter bc swimming and cute.

Sakura... I had so much trouble deciding this one ommmgg 😭 I was thinking about bigger animals and like martial arts and I was thinking about a gorilla and how they like punch their chests. It's the best I could come up with.

Leon is a weasel because I could see a weasel trying baseball and not liking it very much.

Sayaka is a panda because people love pandas and I could see a panda singing pop music.

Chihiro is a bunny because cute and small, also he's like Judy hops cuz he and her wanna prove they're stronge or smth 💪🏻

Mondo is an alligator bc grrrr scary 🐊

Hijumi is a walrus bc his lips kinda look like a walrus and he's chunky like a walrus, I thought of a hamster too but I thought it fit another character better.

Ishimaru I can see being a Labrador dog bc he's a silly little guy. He'd be the dog that barks at flys.

Celeste is a fruit bat bc vampire bat is what she wishes she was so she tries to be scary and goth but she's just a cute fuzz baby.

Nagito is a wolf bc he's literally wolf in sheep's clothing but he's also kinda cute.

Hajime is a panther who doesn't know how to be a panther, he tries to be a house cat.

Teruteru is a mouse bc ratatouille but I wanted him to be a mouse bc they're smaller and I think someone else fits the rat better.

Twogami I was thinking maybe a pig who wears cheetah fur or smth, like he wears the animal skin of what he's imitating.

Pekoyama is a gazelle bc they're coooool.

Mahiru is a red panda cuz they're small and cute and red like her hair

Soda is a rat bc I can imagine him being a sewer rat who smells bad in his silly little jumper.

Sonia is a swan bc they're elegant and pretty like a princess.

Fuyuhiko is a honey badger bc they're not very big but they give 0 fucks abt anything.

Tanaka is a Vulture and everyone's like 'whaaat a vulture taking care of hamsters???? Craaazy he'll eat them' but really he loves his little guys and would never.

Nekomaru is a lion bc team work and big.

Akane is a jaguar bc big and grrrr.

Chiaki is a sugar glider bc tiny and cute.

Saionji is the basilisk bc I can see her Jesus running on water.

Ibuki is a parrot bc caawww and repeating people and singing bird.

Mikan is a possum bc they faint when scared and that's funny haha but also I think they're cute.

Kamukura is a panther but he knows how to be a panther and doesn't wanna be a house cat like Hajime.

Shuichi is a coyote bc he ain't a big wolf but he isn't a tiny dog, he's like in the middle and he's adaptable I'd say.

Kaede is a spider monkey cuz they're like very social but can be aggressive and I think kaede is a more bold but friendly character (ignoring pregame)

Amami is idk!!! I thought about it alot and I stuck with a tortus or a super chill deer.

Maki is like a black mamba cuz they're fast and when I think of an assassin I think of snakes. Also I believe black mambas aren't super aggressive unless bothered and I think this applies to Maki. She isn't aggressive really for no reason she might be sassy sometimes but she isn't gonna throttle you for no reason at all.

Himiko is a dove bc magician.

Kiibo is a chicken bc it made me think of the robot chicken TV channel thing.

Tsumugi is a fox bc cute and pretty but sneaky and will probably give you rabies.

Kirumi is an owl because she seems wise and owls are usually depicted as wise in media.

Ryouma is a poison dart frog bc tiny but will kill you with his tennis balls.

Korekiyo is a giraffe bc tall and lanky.

Tenko is a mongoose and honestly idk why I couldn't think of anything else except maybe that lizard that's like only girls and reproduces asexually so they're all female lizards.

Angie is an African wolf dog bc they work really well when hunting and it would be her little cult of dogs.

Kaito is a border collie bc they're really smart but cute and people always assume they're dumb but they're very smart and everyone says Kaito is dumb but honestly he's gotta be smart to be an astronaut.

Kokichi is a racoon bc he's a trash panda who would also give you rabies.

Miu is a pelican bc she has a big mouth and doesn't shut upppppp!!

Gonta Is an eleghant bc usually elephants are pretty chill and they're suuuuper cute and big.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA she is so ASDHSUJD. Okay I started watching the owl house because I knew there was a WLW couple, so obviously I had to check it out. But upon watching the show, I got so emotionally connected to it, or moreso the protagonist, Luz, that it could go beyond some people's understandings... I remember that almost any scene showing her neurodivergent traits would hit SO. CLOSE. HOME. It would be unbelievable. I literally rewatched the show more than seventeen times one summer. She is just so goshdarn relatable man. She's the weird kid, has no friends, loves making anime edits, is OBSESSED with a book series, loves witches and magic and stuff, has ADHD, an attention span that is so high when she's engaging with something she likes doing and so low when she's bored. We write what we love, and we love what we write. Our stories are inspired by our current fascinations—be it a game, a movie, or a manga. If it’s interesting and fascinating to us, it’s fair game for our writing.

Most of our stories are “x female reader” because that’s where we feel most at home. Occasionally, we’ll write “x gender-neutral reader” pieces for a bit of variety. Comics: Batman is my passion. I collect anything related to the Dark Knight, and my collection is my pride and joy.

Anime/Manga: I'm into One Piece, Princess TuTu, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kingdom Hearts, Sgt. Frog, Free!, HellSing, and a bunch more. I have also seen MHA, Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball, Soul Eater, Naruto, Castlevania, Diabolik Lovers and more.

Disney & Tim Burton: I’m a Disney kid at heart. My top 5 Disney movies are Treasure Planet, Cinderella 3, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and The Princess and the Frog. And I’m all about Halloween and everything Tim Burton.

Music: I love RnB and Y2K music so much! However, you can usually find me listening to cutesy, cheesy love songs.

Gaming: I’m definitely not the biggest gamer around, but I do love to play Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft! Sometimes I’ll also dabble in some fall guys, FNAF or Poppy’s Playtime. On Roblox, I love to play pretty much anything but pvp games due to the fact that I’m not the best at them. Horror games are probably my favorite, even though I’m a chicken!

Anime/Manga: My favorites are definitely Fairy Tail, Jojo’s bizarre adventure, Naruto, and Demon slayer. I’ve also watched MHA, Danganronpa, Yona of the Dawn, Food wars, High Rise Invasion, Angels of death, and more!

Disney and Tim Burton: I’m definitely a Disney girl! I love all Disney Princess movies, both animated and live action. My top three not in any particular order would have to be Tangled, The Little Mermaid, and Princess and the Frog. For Tim Burton, my favorites are the classics, The nightmare before Christmas and Corpse bride. 

Books: I’m also a huge book girly! My favorite genre has to be fantasy/sci-fi. My favorite book series is The Lunar Chronicles, I definitely recommend it!

Hi! I hope you don't mind the sudden question, but i got really into Milgram recently and was wondering: What reasoning did people give when they voted Haruka guilty in the second trial? Like, generally speaking, what did the consensus seem to be?

Haruka is a character i strongly relate to, so i have a lot of Thoughts about him.

Firstly: Wow the start of the second trial was that long ago, huh 😅

Secondly: I need to explain that Haruka's trial was a bit different than most Not sure how recently you joined but in a normal trial, the MV will upload the same day a CD releases, and stuff like the instrumental, DECO covers and most importantly the voice drama will be officially uploaded at the same time

But for Haruka, due to some unspecified CD issue, we were getting the MV as planned then wouldn't get the voice drama for another two weeks This will be very important to his voting

Thirdly: Going into his trial, things were uncertain, a lot of people really liked Haruka and were very worried for him due to his new relationship with Muu. Whom many saw as a potential bad influence or threat. I won't get into it too much, but before this trial it was definitely more common to have a.... soft image of Haruka as a harmless little guy who had gone through a lot, who just made some mistakes because he didn't know any better

Its worth remembering that without the context of AKAA, Weakness is a very dream-like MV and not many were sure which parts were real or imagined One of the biggest debates about weakness was about if the blue haired child was a younger bother or Haruka himself It all seems quite quaint from here Some people thought Haruka might not have even killed a person, just animals, I was even considering a theory suggesting Haruka was in milgram for his own suicide (in the words of Danganronpa 'killing the person who is most important to you: Yourself') The girl with the plait wasn't thought about much as other than a possible childhood friend due to her being shown running next to young Haruka.

Fourth: The premiere of AKAA was super emotional and intense, it was a beautiful MV But like Purge March later, it would contextualise parts of Weakness we didn't expect it to Mainly the animal murder and the girl's death.

But without the voice drama, many were unsure what verdict would be best for Haruka Despite the failure of T1 Amane, many still thought we could fix the prisoners through voting right Some people saw this vote as a chance to get Haruka to break up with Muu if we played our cards right Overall people were confused and conflicted and couldn't wait for the voice drama to come out I think the best summary of feelings is a comment from the top of the AKAA comments section

This was posted right after AKAA came out and reflected a common mood

This part of his voting period was very strange. Because of the uncertainty, people were pretty split People didn't think he deserved an innocent verdict, but they didn't want to punish him so harshly with a guilty one either And it turned into an interesting situation: What happens if a prisoner gets exactly 50%? It was an unlikely truce between two passionate sides but for about 2 weeks straight, 50-50 was sustained Or more accurately, it was a constant flux of 49.9-50.1, changing by the hour if not minute (I actually dreamt up a fic of this causing Haruka to get a migraine but like most of my fics it never materialised)

Then the voice drama released

At the time I was the mod of the second biggest milgram server (rip Fancult - unfortunately that place got nuked so I'll have to go off memories alone) so I got to watch as a lot of people gathered and listened to the VD at the same time We were still waiting on translations, but still people could appreciate the acting and pick out key words like the prisoners' names and... other common phrases

お母さん, "Okaasan" The Japanese word for 'mother' or 'mum'

By the time we got to here it was Harukover 😔

Then a second Okaasan hit the verdict

And this giant mess ended with the suicide threat that's been haunting us for the rest of the season...

Needless to say, people were not too pleased

The 50-50 pipe dream was immediately shot down and betrayed

One thing to keep in mind is that even before Muu's MV was out, people were certain she'd be voted guilty, there was a fervour for it (mostly because people saw her as having taken advantage of Haruka and having the wrong attitude towards her verdict)

For some reason, voting Muu innocent was never really considered an option

I started writing your request almost immediately after receiving it!! I love danganronpa and im in love with Mikan (seriously im down bad for her)

Being able to be in a relationship with Mikan has been a difficult and slowly process because it take her a long time to accept that you don't hate her, let alone that you love her

Mikan has been abused so much in her entire life that for her you being kind to her is already like heaven, and being in a relationship with a person that she loves, someone who loves and care for her make her wanting to cry of happiness

Almost all your demonstrations of love make her heart skip a beat and bring tears of joy to her eyes, it doesn't matter if you express your love by words, actions or even both, her reaction will be pretty much the same for a long time

Just like it take her a long time to fully accept that you love her it will take her a long time to get used to how much you pamper her. She doesn't know how to react or respond to such demonstrations of love and she may think that you are trying to win something from her (to which she will respond that you don't have to, if you want something from her you just have to ask)

Mikan is so used to all kind of physical abuse that when you come and hold her so gently and sweetly, or even excitedly it startle her at first, but when she realice that you aren't going to hurt her she accept it and even start crying (and apologizing for crying)

She doesn't take really well the surprises, if touch her without warning her first she will scream in surprise and even ask to please don't hurt her, specially at the start of the relasionship or when she is too stressed. Once Mikan gets used to physical affection she loves the most when you pet her head or give her a little kisses, it doesn't make her too nervous or shy and gives her a silent reasurance that you love her

If you cuddle her it would take her a while to be able to stay still for how nervous she is of ruin it, as well as scare of touching you and get comfortable because she doesn't know if she should, but soon she will end up loving cuddle you, it makes her feel safe for the first time in her life

Compliments and praises make her super flustered, she was only praised when she does dirty stuff (like imitating animals), and normally doesn't go further than saying that she did a good job or that they aren't mad or hate her, but with you is a completely different story, complimenting her for her qualities and beauty and not because she did something for you is completely new for her, so any time you praise her she quickly becomes a blushing mess and start stuttering incomprehensible words (what lead her to apologize for being an embarrasing mess or at least that is what she says)

If you want to give her gifts you have to explain that you are giving something to her as a way of showing you love for her and not because is something you don't want anymore or is usless (she hasn't recived an actual gift and people just used to throw their trash to her), and not matter how much time it pass she never get fully used to receiving gifts

However, receiving gifts makes her feel obligate to reciprocate the gesture (specially if is something that she likes a lot), so she will immediatly tell you that if there something she could do for you in exchange you just have to ask, she is willing to do everything for you no matter what it is, it would take her a long time to get used to the idea that you do it out of love and not because you want something in exchange

As well giving her something related to medicine is a really good idea because she really likes that kind of things (she loves alcohol), however, you better don't gift her something too big because it scare her

Also, something that will make her feel flattered and special is that you actually heard her, in the past everyone just ignore her or react bad whenever she tries to express herself, so if you directly ask her for her opinion is surprising for her, the first time she will just respond really shyly and will even apologize for get carry away with the conversation but at the time pass and you continue insisting that you want to hear her opinion she will start to get used to it and will start to speak her mind more often (still pretty shyly)

As well making her feel wanted and needed is enough to make her happy, one of the mainly reasons she becomes a nurse is because she loves that others need her and rely on her (in a not abusive way) so if you rely on her, let her take care of you from time to time or even express directly that you are happy with her by your side it makes her immensely happy

For how much love you pamper her just because you love her and want to it would give Mikan the opportunity to start letting behind that idea of letting other people abuse her in order of not being alone and start thinking that maybe she actually deserve to be respected and can be forgiven without having to let them use her (although this is going to be a long process, but still this is a start)

However, in the other hand Mikan loves how you treat her and she is finally to feel safe and even happines for once in her life, so she will grow pretty clingy and dependent of you

Even though I’ve only been a fan for a short time compared to others, the amount of love I have for this series is hard to put into words. It has slowly grown to be my favorite DR-related media of all time, for a multitude of reasons. Everything about it is remarkably impressive, and I just wanted to say thank you for bringing us such an amazing experience.

I got into DRDT through Weeby Newz’ streams. I had just finished binge watching her SDRA2 streams, but this “Danganronpa Despair Time” one looked interesting. Especially because I kept seeing a video by Ocean Unknown popping up in my recommended, which said something about “David’s reveal”. So I decided to watch those vods too.

Fast-forward a binge watch, and… I was in love. It didn’t even register how attached I’d gotten to every single character, and how intrigued I was to see how everything would play out.

I absolutely wouldn’t have started a Tumblr blog without DRDT. But now I have, and it’s been one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in fandom. So, from the bottom of my heart:

Thank you for the laughs! From the arm wrestling scene, Charles getting obliterated by MonoCredits, “milk tastes good”, Teruko tripping over Nico… Not to mention the greatest joke ever conceived: the bathroom investigation. I laughed for a solid minute or two when I first watched it, just replaying the funniest thing ever on loop.

The Q&As were also really funny, and I never really had an issue with the way the were written. I fully understand and support if you decide not to do them ever again, but they were fun while they lasted. From Nico’s favorite ice cream flavor being “the flavor”, to us forgetting people can have friends aside from Mai I mean who, all the way to that time you directed us to inform ourselves on what a pant pocket is.

Thank you for the tears! Because I still can’t watch Min’s final hug without my chest hurting, a lot. Even some of the frames from the Sleepy MV, that beautiful piece of art, get me to tear up just looking at them.

Thank you for the mysteries! From the murders which are really fun to theorize about, to everything related to Mai Akasaki and the multiple source code secrets. And don’t even get me started on the LGI MV, that insanity (affectionate) has been eating at my brain ever since it released. Everything about it is fantastic, even the things we still haven’t solved.

Thank you for the research you’ve put into everything! Things like Ace’s talent causing his eating disorder are really appreciated, they show a genuine care and love for the project.

Thank you for all the little details you might think no one notices, but that we love to see! Things like the first Nonstop Debate ending in perjury, Teruko listing Xander as one of the people whose secret was unrevealed, David’s eyes being different in his genuine breakdowns to his little thing in Ep 11, strychnine not being listed with the other custom weapons because Charles made the list, the note Xander received having a proper full message which has been obscured (I can only make out “it is” at the bottom, but it’s clear the message is there), the charm on Teruko’s thing-that’s-probably-a-MonoPad-but-may-be-something-else being the same as Unnamed Classmate’s phone charm, all the interesting details in the character profiles, among so many other things.

This also includes details revealed on Q&As. Arei being ambidextrous, Teruko liking “girly” clothing, Xander having a weak sense of taste, Ace having 9 siblings, Veronika’s earring being related to a friend, all the favorite and least favorite colors and ice cream flavors. As well as the few things we know about people like Felicity and Elliot that made the community fall in love with them for no apparent reason. It just makes them all seem so human!

Thank you to the voice actors, as well! They’ve all done such an amazing job, no exceptions! In particular, Veronika’s unhinged laughter, the dialogue after Ace’s almost murder, Min’s last words, David’s speech post the “guilty as charged” incident… but it’s all fantastic, all the characters are voiced really well.

This is a topic not really related to Danganronpa, but I remembered it now, so I'll write it down...

For the Danganronpa series, fortunately, the character names are the same between the JP and EN versions, and other words have pretty much the same meaning, such as Hope's Peak Academy (希望ヶ峰学園), so I can easily understand the meaning when I see it even if I don't know the translation. However, sometimes people make Pokémon jokes based on the fact that I am Japanese, but it is often difficult for me to notice. In fact, I like Pokémon like many JP game fans, but many words in Pokémon are changed between the EN version and the JP version into words with completely different meanings.

I once praised someone's work as having evolved from the state it was in when it was in progress, and he replied that he had used a lot of rare candies, but I had no idea what he was talking about.

I later researched and understood the meaning, but the item called "rare candy" in the EN version is called "ふしぎなアメ(fushigi na ame)" in the JP version, and the literal translation is "mysterious candy". Or it could be translated as "wonder candy", but at least it doesn't mean rare at all. So unless I know it was translated that way, it is quite difficult to understand.

Also, most species of Pokémon have completely different names than their JP counterparts, so when I see art of a Danganronpa character and a Pokémon side by side, I know it's that Pokémon, but most of the time I don't know what it's called in the EN version.

In Japan, Pokémon is so big that it would be hard to find someone who has never played any of the Pokémon series or seen the anime, but you should be aware that due to these translation circumstances, if you make a joke about Pokémon to Japanese people, you may get a dubious look...

(This does not mean that you should not talk to me about Pokémon, so you can dare to make a Pokémon joke to me. 😄)

He's so hard working that he struggles to socialize with his peers (which is very relatable). When he tries to step in as the class leader, everyone else ignores him (which is also relatable). He naturally talks loud and doesn't seem aware of how strongly he comes off when talking to others. But even when he is scolding someone for their misbehavior, he does so because he wants to bring out the best in them. Kiyotaka puts 300% into everything he does on principal (and because he feels like it is his duty to restore his family's name). Many of his Free Time events center around him trying to figure out the "logic" in what other people do (such as why they would spend time playing video games/watching TV or why Makoto wears his jacket when it is against the school's dress code). Ishimaru Kiyotaka is easily one of the most autistic-coded characters in the Danganronpa series."

PROPAGANDA

MIKAN TSUMIKI (DANGANRONPA 2: GOODBYE DESPAIR) (CW: Mind Control, Bullying)

1.) She is literally the saddest side character I know out of the series. She canonically went through severe abuse and bullying, oversexualizes herself as a defense mechanism, and has really bad anxiety that interferes with her interactions.

Does she get better? No.

Even though the whole theme of Danganronpa is overcoming despair, she never gets the support she needs despite having a lot of supposedly nice classmates. She CONTINUES to get verbally abused by another classmate nobody really bothers to stop, and one of her best friend even ENABLES some of her bad coping mechanisms. She's also the main source of fanservice for the second game.

Then she gets fucking brainwashed into one of the main villain's henchwoman. Yeah, the writers did NOT let her catch a break.

2.) The first two chapters are obsessed with having her do that stupid 'oh nooo all my clothes came off :"( u can see my panties :"(' shit and her free time events especially drift into the 'I'm accidentally saying something that's sexy but I don't know the connotations' brand of jokes. Idk what the spoiler policy is so I won't say much about her actual good points, but when she gets a chance to shine, she's really really interesting! For sure one of my favorite characters in the game! She's got nuance and character and relationships and motivations and interests and all that good stuff! She's even gay! It's just that its almost completely eclipsed by mediocre at best horny jokes for the first 2/3rds of her screentime in game and it drives me actually insane.

3.) You could put nearly all of the dr girls in this bracket, actually. But I picked Mikan because she's such a clear example. They just put her in there to sexualize her and her trauma. There were many ideas that could have been executed well with Mikan (I can relate to the aspect of her sexualizing herself, but the fact that they use it for fanservice is. Wow! And not in a good way) but they use her for fanservice instead. And she had the WORST execution or at least it was somewhere in the top 3. They unceremoniously cut off her development with the "despair disease" (hate that motive btw) and basically made her whole personality in what was supposed to be sorta love her 3rd act villain breakdown into "oooh my beloved ahaha I can't wait to be reunited with my beloved." I don't know shit about the anime but she seems to have been treated just as terribly there if not made worse! If it weren't for the fact that I refuse to acknowledge the animes existence it might have made me dislike her during the time I still actively liked the franchise. All the outfits they give her also feel like they were made just for fanservice shots (most of the outfits themselves aren't really bad at least not the ones I've seen it's that they were made with the intent to sexualize her and not to look good and fit her character) which is super frustrating. Oh and she was treated terribly in the game by Hiyoko but when she killed hiyoko it was just whoops she saw me kill ibuki gotta end her instead of giving her an interesting motive for even one of her kills. Honestly what makes me says she's screwed over by misogyny specifically is the fact that shit like this probably would not have happened if she were a guy. She wouldn't be written perfectly but her writing would be so much better. Like she was reduced to fanservice so so so many times and treated awfully.

OCHETTE (OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2) (CW: Racism, Ableism)

1.) SO. actually she's combod by the heavy anti-pasifika racism in ot2 but one of the strongest elements of that is that ochette herself is infantilized to the point of a 20 year old woman, who is a fully trained adult warrior and ingame stated to be like a week away from replacing her island's ultrabeast white lion guardian, being characterized by cool normal things like "having the white catholic inquisitor character promise to teach her backward people human language(the fantasy pasifika tribe she's from are kemonomimi because of course they are)", "haha ochette no understand human custom and have funny naive misunderstanding", "ochette draws the catholic inquisitor character a cutesy kiddie drawing", and being completely removed from any discussions around sex because octopath has this sexism problem where the only two types of women are innocent babies and femme fatales which is so cool AND normal. so ochette gets actually written to be essentially a "mental child" or sometimes an actual animal and is never, ever, ever allowed to have any dynamic with a human that is not paternal in nature because she is Baby. so she's also fighting the ableism. and despite all odds being stacked against her she manages to fuck super hard in a way that makes it so obvious that if ot2 was just less sexist and less racist and less ableist and someone suplexed the non-pasifika dev team and brought in at least a sensitivity reader, she could have fucked SO much harder. honestly imo the fact that the racism against her is superficially gender neutral is not proof that it's not sexism but proof that it IS, as a major part of racist sexism is treating the womanhood of woc as either unimportant or inferior compared to white womanhood, where pasifika woc specifically are often treated as eternal innocent girls who just can never understand an adult woman's relationship with gender. ochette not being allowed to be a woman and trapped at "child too young to even have a gender" is sickeningly sexist. she should have been allowed to have zest for life and be literally the "my daughter might have autism but god damn she can work a grill" lady and be unsure about taking on a hugely important position without it being used as shorthand for her being a toddler in the body of a notably very skinny girl considering she is canonically jacked enough to carry an iguana the size of a bus but WHATEVER. she should also have been allowed to hunt the white catholic inquisitor whose story climaxes with him killing an indigenous woman who secretly infiltrated the church in order to get revenge for them massacring her entire tribe that confirms ochette's people are kemonomimi because an ancient wizard cursed the brutish natives for their violence. actually fuck it i would put kaldena in too but thinking about her actually makes me depressed im so fucking sorry girl. they should BOTH have gotten a ten minute cutscene of beating hm to death with hammers

I still someday want to make a long video going into the phoenix-like nature of his character arc, and how he shifts. He starts off with “I want to be the most powerful warrior, and everyone else should strive to meet the same standard”. Over time, he's transitioned to “I want to be stronger so that I can protect those that are not.” It's incredible.

Gundham Tanaka | Danganronpa

Danganronpa really was the series of “Every Character Deserved Better… Writing-Wise.” Gundham Tanaka is one of the few exceptions. Oh, don't get me wrong, he's too great to be here, and I will always be wishing more time was spent on him, but DAMN. They may not have meant to make one of the most well-written autistic-coded bisexual characters of all time, but they sure did anyway.

Crow man crow man crow man- I think I immediately grew attached to this guy from the moment he introduced himself. And then he's just…lovely. A character who smiles almost constantly, has a grim sense of humour, loves blood, loves crows, practices dark magic, would kill for his friends and loved ones, also very autistic-coded, quite literally raised by wolves, what's not to love?

Label/Labelle | Animal Crossing

A really touching story. Here you have a character who struggled with family bonds, and desperately wanted to find herself, who eventually reunited with her family after gaining a better sense of identity. She's become warmer over time, and will grow progressively friendlier to the player character. Plus, who doesn't love a fashion-forward gal?

… The matching colour palettes, if you're wondering, were semi-intentional, but not entirely. I'm realizing I could do another 5 with another colour palette.
