lmao at jon finally receiving a taste of his own medicine in hair-raising displays of recklessness
“Do you think dragonflame would burn us?” Rhaegar asked. “I do not know.” Was dragonflame hotter than fire? Jon had not been brave enough to test against Daenerys’s dragons. “I have only tested it on regular flame. What about you?” Rhaegar looked confused. “What do you mean?” “How did you learn that you could not burn?” Rhaegar blinked at him. “When we reached into the fire for the eggs.” Jon, who had been mid-yawn, nearly choked. “What?” He stared at his brother, horrified. “You—I thought you already knew.” There had been a look in Rhaegar’s eyes, one of confirmation, that Jon had read as a shared knowledge of their inability to burn. “You were confident,” Rhaegar said, his shrug frighteningly unconcerned. “I trusted you.”
#“idk i was just following your lead”#aka how jon learned that he holds a terrible power#which is that rhaegar will absolutely follow him down whatever dangerous road he decides to go#the amount of trust they have for each other is inversely proportional to the trust between daemon and viserys

Advice for Little Me
This is advice that I have for my twelve-year-old self. If I’d known all this at twelve my life would be a whole lot better.
1) Capitalists are horrible, manipulative, lying, selfish, apathetic, overwhelmingly dangerous, incredibly bad for society, wrong, and deeply disturbed.
2) Anyone who ever says or insinuates that they earned the wealth they have are the worst types of people.
3) Anyone who goes around measuring the value of a human being by how fancy their job is incredibly shallow, materialistic, lacking in understanding, and not worth your time.
4) No. No people did not "earn" anything through hard work. They got it through privilege, privilege, privilege, and privilege. The fact that they could afford a decent quality highschool education is already a huge privilege. And no, being poor when they were in college absolutely does not count as not having privilege. They got to go to college. That’s a privilege so many don’t get.
5) You know who's actually working hard? The people in the sweatshops, the mines, the agricultural plantations, the warehouses, etc. The people getting paid poverty wages as they work themselves to death. Have some fucking respect for them you’re not above them just because you were born in a rich family.
6) All humans have equal value.
7) And the value of a human being is inherent.
8) If you have a house and fancy furniture and a flatscreen TV and a car and a closet full of clothes and enough money to go to restaurants and golfing and shit and then you turn around and say you're oppressed I fucking hate you so goddamn much.
9) The voices of the poor people are fucking ALWAYS silenced in this world, all over the world.
10) There's men in suits somewhere defending capitalism and our centrist dads are defending them while most of the world are wage slaves.
11) The poor are always ignored, pushed to the side, and silenced.
12) Hi. Hello person reading this. Check out the Red Deal. It's fucking awesome. Please read it. It will save your soul and change your life.
13) Also my Wattpad account is here please check it out https://www.wattpad.com/user/Balladoad it won't save your soul and change your life but I write communist stories.
14) Your value is inherent. Child. Darling. Your value is inherent. You are alive. That is enough. You don't need a fancy job or a big income or a fancy degree or something. You're a human being trying to do the best you personally can with the resources and knowledge you have and in the situation you're in. Your value is inherent. Baby.
15) Check out the Red Deal.
16) Nobody is liberated. None of us are liberated. Especially under capitalism none of us are liberated. We are all equal. We are all capable of being free. Of having an equal amount of power. Of making decisions equally and democratically where everyone has a seat at the round table. Seperation is a myth. Wow that sounds like a fucking hippie thing to say but I mean it in the most practical, tangible way. We are all equal and we should be treated equally and under capitalism we are not. Not even close. We can all be together, all be comrades, all help and support each other, all protect and provide for each other, all listen to and understand each other, and all create a world where finally, finally people are free.
17) True freedom does not and should not feel forced. Corporate capitalists tell us that freedom is the ability to be successful in the capitalist framework. That is not what true freedom is. True freedom comes from within. It does not feel forced. It feels good and right and beautiful and true. It's not forced upon you it's something that sparks to life inside your own soul.
18) Sucess as a human being is about the kindness and compassion you show other people. Which is actually rather inversely proportional to how much money you make from what I've seen. At every step of your life seek out people who need help and help them.
19) Children should all be treated with equal respect, reverance, affection, and love.
20) Your value is inherent. Human value is inherent. Valuing human life does mean valuing the continuation of human life but not just that. It means valuing the quality of human life too. It means valuing human happiness.
21) Take every opportunity you have to learn. Not learn trivial "knowledge" about string theory or CRISPR or valence orbitals. Real, important knowledge about how to be kind to other people. How to be respectful towards other people. How to uplift the downtrodden. How to be in solidarity with the oppressed. How to live in harmony with other people. How to tear down the walls that divide us. How to live in harmony with nature. How to have respect and reverence for nature. How to protect and defend the Land and Water. How to be brave to put the needs of others before your own. How to think for yourself and be your own person. How to live your life in accordance to the truth and intangible mystic forces behind everything that guide us all. Wow that sounded hippie.
22) People are exploited and oppressed. So many people are exploited and oppressed. They deserve better than this.
23) You shouldn’t go after power. Seeking power is the way to corruption. You should seek to destroy the unequal distribution of power itself so that all people can have equal power.
24) Absolutely power corrupts absolutely. Power corrupts whenever it’s not equally shared.
25) Money is power. It always has been, it always will be. It’s what determines if people are able to eat or not. It’s what makes us spend most of our time at our jobs working for our bosses and doing what they want us to do.
26) Learn history. Please.
27) Read books about the Holocaust. About slavery. About all the types of slavery that have happened in various societies not just the Transatlantic Slave Trade though definitely you should learn about that too. About the Irish Potato Famine, the Armenian Genocide. About colonialism. About settler-colonialism. About feudalism. About monarchy. About the Industrial Revolution. About segregation. About the genocide of Indigenous peoples. About workhouses. About the Witch Trials. About the French Revolution. About the Spanish resistance against fascism. About residential schools. About the 60s Scoop. About the Stolen Generations. About resistance against the Roman Empire. About so much more. Just read them. Make sure they’re not written through the lenses of oppressors and/or rich people though.
28) Recognize that while history affects the present day history IS NOT the present day and present struggles are unique and different though not altogether separated from history. The present day is the present day. It’s struggles are unique and the way that the struggle for universal equality and liberation manifests in the present day is unique.
30) Don’t trust Christian priests.
31) Actually be cautious of any rich, privileged person trying to teach you religion.
32) Just because someone’s older doesn’t mean that they’re right or they know more than you. Knowledge of the truth and wisdom comes from kindness, compassion, humility, and suffering. It does not come from age. A rich man born to a rich family who thinks he’s better than poor people and does not have humility and respect towards them is not someone who knows things, no matter how old he is.
33) Men are generally less trustable than women because they’ve been taught to believe they’re always right and as such do not question themselves and think deeply and critically about their opinions as much as women do.
34) This does not apply to men who are poor or mentally ill since society never teaches them that.
35) Despite this being an unpopular opinion, pain and struggle are actually really good teachers. If you’re suffering, you deserve better. You deserve to not be suffering. But still, use it as an opportunity to learn.
37) Gender roles are the biggest scam ever created.
38) But the even bigger scam is capitalism.
39) You do not need material wealth. It is inherently addictive and bad for yourself, everyone else, and the Land and Water.
40) It’s just stuff. It doesn’t matter.
41) If you’re in a situation where people are treating you like you’re better than other people just get the fuck out of that situation as fast as you can. And never fucking look back no matter what ANYONE says.
42) Have respect and reverence for nature. Learn from it as much as you can. But from like, nature directly. Not from people talking about nature. Unless they’re Indigenous. And pristine, untouched nature is better than nature that’s been tampered with.
43) The world runs on bonds of love more than bonds between atoms.
44) Work hard not for money or to increase the power you have but rather to humbly and reverently improve the lives of the oppressed.
45) But recognize that you can’t do everything and do what you can and don’t beat yourself up over the things you can’t do.

UPDATE!
Hey Dolls,
It’s me again, I’m so sorry I’ve been dead for several months now but here I am! Unfortunately, I don’t have an official update for you (as in an update for a story or a new oneshot or something) but just to give you some reassurance about my progress, I’m here to tell you what I’ve been doing.
So, here’s just some quick background on the happenings of the previous few months where exam season is slowly creeping up. I have two 2-hour mock exams to prepare for (psychology and biology) but I also have to complete my second project for art on micro-macro before I begin my component one to carry into the summer holidays. So school is busy but I’ve also been needing to do a lot of university searching and getting my work experience done. I actually did my work experience during the two-week holiday I was given for Easter but that took a week so I was really pressed for time.
To add onto that *le sigh* I’ve gotten really sick recently and it’s only getting worse by the day, which I don’t understand because I’ve taken medicine for it!!! It’s so frustrating! But you know, whenever I get sick, I really have no motivation to work on both school and my writing because I just want to sleep in bed and slowly die in my filth, so that’s slowing me down more than other works are, which I HATE!
Despite ALL OF THAT, however, I’ve gotten some work done for you! It’s not ready to be posted though but I’ll gladly tell you all about the progress.
I’ve planned all four scenes with all the events I want happening in it. I’m about to start scene three and am at 3.3k words
There’s a lot of fluff and some minor development in the relationship between Reader and Jungkook, there’ll also be some development in the relationship between TaeTae and Jungkook as well so look out for that!
Here’s a little teaser for you simply because I like spoiling you guys ;)
“Promise me you’ll take care of yourself too, Jeong,” you demand in a soft and beautifully fragile voice that has Jungkook leaning in ever so slowly closer, his urge to connect his lips with yours becoming instinct whenever in a situation where you’re looking up at him with those beautiful wide eyes, rosy cheeks and plush lips, he swears you’re silently begging him to devour your mouth with his own in a passionate dance.
“I promise…” he whispers back, lips brushing against yours as both your eyes slowly start to close, breaths momentarily stopping as if hypnotised by each other’s eyes, daring the other to initiate it kiss first. Before either of you could follow through, however, you were interrupted by a very loud shout.
I’ve planned around 4/5 scenes, I’ve just finished scene one and just realised that I have to do some more research so that there’s more accuracy but some delay in the writing process. But it’s currently at around 1.1k words.
This is a bit of an angsty chapter, especially for those of you who are animal lovers but there’ll finally be some progress in Reader’s and Yoongi’s relationship
Again, here’s a little teaser sample for you lovelies!
“Shhh…” he hushed in a husky voice despite his best attempt at reducing his rough speech into something soft just for your comfort, “it’s going to be okay…” his arm rounded your figure and brought you into his warm, tight embrace as he gave you a handful of moments to calm your heart-breaking sobs, “she’s in good hands, trust that they’ll do what’s best for her,” you nod meekly into his chest, following with a soft whimper as you cling onto the back of his shirt. The presence of time ceases to exist as you stand there hugging yourself tightly to your neighbour and expel all of your tears and sobs into his chest, soaking his shirt but he doesn’t mind.
“Th-thank you, Yoongi,” you whisper with a sniffle as you look up at him with a rose-dusted cheek pressed to his chest, your eyes big and glossy as an adorable pout had your lips looking plumper than usual. Yoongi’s heart skipped many subsequent beats as he stared down at you, very well aware of the blossoming blush on his cheeks but unable to turn away; had you always been this cute? How could he miss that about you?
PHEW! Planning this was so exhausting because I’ve never written smut before! And Silly Me didn’t split it into scenes but I can assure you that it’s all planned out...the only problem is that I think I might change it again, sorry! But it’s only at 0.8k words, I’m so sorry!!!!
But here’s another teaser, keep in mind that these teasers aren’t grammatically edited yet so please excuse the unpolished state of these teasers x
The more you avoid him and the more Namjoon is left to his own thoughts and queries, the quicker he’s beginning to connect the dots. It was the same day he had finally allowed your heavenly name to pass his lips during his ministrations for the first time since the very beginning. It was always the little things that you did that turned him on more than any other girl on campus has been able to, not even the perkiest cheerleaders, the smartest biologists or the most compassionate artist as been able to stir and tangle his nerves the way you have been able to. In your oversize shirts and jumpers, shovelling junk food into your mouth as you moan in bliss and smile happily at the entertainment you have playing on the screen before you, the innocence you display is inversely proportional to the amount of unadulterated lust you evoke within him.
There’s just something in the way you lick your sweet pink lips clean, ridding them of the crumbs of your snacks; he can vividly imagine the way they would look lapping up the last droplets of his cum after you’ve sucked him off like the good little girl he knows you can be. He has played with the idea that you have nothing but your oversized shirt protecting you from his wandering hands even though you’re clearly wearing a bra and shorts underneath, it’s just more exciting to him if there’s a possibility that if he were to slip his hands underneath the tauntingly thin fabric of your shirt, he’ll only be met with supple softness, ready to be tainted by his fine hands. And taint them he will if you’d ever let him have the chance to. One time, several months ago, you actually weren’t wearing your bra underneath your shirt and it drove him up the wall, he was so close to you and seeing your perked nipples making an obvious indentation through the fabric made his hands itch to just reach over and squeezesqueezesqueeze your fleshy mounds until he had you squirming underneath him. Those are things he’s been able to grow some immunity to, especially after flushing out his frustrations through, somewhat, unsatisfying personal sessions with himself. However, it’s your unintentionally arousing moans that always trigger something dark and sinister within him, he’s always tried to imagine you moaning his name aloud but has to refrain from doing so or else he’s sure he’ll jizz in his pants - a dry orgasm was something he wasn’t eager to experience, yet.
So this is a Jeon Wonwoo x f.reader oneshot I’ve been working on that’s part of a oneshot series that’s based around an alternate universe I came up with. I’ve planned 8 scenes for it and I’m half way through scene 4 and am already at 5.2k words.
The teaser I’m about to give you is far longer than the rest but I’m just really proud of the alternate universe I was able to come up with that I feel is just so unique. I really want to show you guys how it’s coming along and get you fired up as much as possible so you can pester me to finish it and get on with the other 12 members’ oneshots for this series too!
In a universe where people carry around their hearts, with some wearing them on their sleeves and others tucking them into the breast pocket of their blazers and out of people’s sight, Wonwoo appeared to be the only one adamant at keeping his at home and off his person when moving about. It wasn’t as though he was embarrassed by his heart or anything, it’s just that, carrying around his heart like most people usually would, was a heavy burden on him, literally. Everyone’s heart had a trait that matched the personality of the person they represented and, although they were all as unique as the person that owned them, they all had a similar trait. They were unbreakable - harder than diamond and more precious than any jewel. Despite this physical resilience to external forces, they can be fractured by one thing and one thing only: heartbreak.
Wonwoo’s heart was much like the rest in this quality, however, his had undergone a phenomenon he’d prefer to keep to himself rather than alert the cardiologists, who specialised in the field of hand-held hearts. Before his first heartbreak, Wonwoo’s heart was soft, in any way shape or form. Its surface was smooth like the finest silk and it was rather sizeable too, almost reaching farther than his fingertips when held in the centre of his palm. Not only that but his heart had the viscosity of fluffy marshmallows. Looking back on the time his heart was of that state was laughable because it directly matched his personality: funny and sweet, soft and malleable to any given situation. Now, however, he was hardly like that now and so was his heart.
Heartbreak really changed him as a person and usually, people who suffered through that would go through therapy or counselling with their heartbreaker in order to avoid any desperate change their heart and they, themselves, would make in response to the pain of heartbreak. Sometimes, breaking another person’s heart was punishable as a crime simply because of the adverse effect it can have on an individual, and so, it was always taught to children at a young age that when given the responsibility of another person’s heart, they should handle it with the utmost care. Wonwoo never had the pleasure of going through therapy or counselling for his heartbreak; he merely didn’t want the pity that came when people found out that he had gone through something like that, and he knows for certain that many people would be alerted of his suffering. If people had ever once been heartbroken in their lives it was put in their medical records as a signpost that their heart was more breakable now than before, he also didn’t want the sympathy of others if he were to enter the heartbreak clinic. He just wanted to avoid all the trivial attention.
And so, Wonwoo left his heart alone, to change and morph into stone. He didn’t know what stone it was but it was still as unbreakable as ever, with the exception of the damage heartbreak had brought - he wouldn’t dare test that out. Alongside the change of his heart, Wonwoo also made a drastic change in personality; now he was mostly silent and stoic, inclined to keep to just himself and his group of friends. He had become as quiet and still as his heart of stone.
This series isn’t out yet but it is in progress. It’s going to be a really long series that’s gonna have a lot of chapters and will possibly be an OT7 x f.r fic, I don’t know, maybe I’ll make it a member-centric in later chapters - again, it’s still a work in progress. I’m still planning everything out.
I might tweak some of the storyline because I don’t think having the entire thing progress over five years would be easy to do, unless I want to make multiple sequels for it, so like Harry Potter or something but no, that’s not gonna happen, unfortunately. I just won’t have the time.
But here is my inspirations list and what I’m directly finding inspiration in, just so that you can have a feel of what I want this series to be like:
- anime: Fairy Tail (Tournament + Powers)
- Harry Potter (Magic School)
- Hunger Games(?) (Tournament Style + Filming of events)
- Pokemon(?) (Mini Battles)
I’ve planned the ending (although it might change), the concept and workings of magic circles, the AU’s background/history, Elemental Stereotypes, the magic school’s background and I am in the middle of creating the members’ as well as Reader’s character profile.
I’ve also gone ahead and planned the first year of their school, although this could change because I want to take away the years that this would be progressing through and make it more straightforward.
This...I’ve been planning this for a while but haven’t really gotten to writing it yet. I’m hoping to make it into a mini one-shot series of Royal Encounters *wink**wonk* that’s subtly linked to each other.
This could end up being an OT7 x maid reader or individual members x maid reader but yeah! I’ve planned out all of the ‘encounters’ in bullet point format and hope to get to writing it for you Dolls soon!
SO I’ve been really busy, haha, despite being dead these few months, I’m so sorry that I take so long to post anything, I’m also sorry that I’m bad at building a relationship with you guys by not making casual posts like this often, where I can talk to you freely.
I guess, I just don’t feel like I’m an interesting enough of a person for you guys to be interested in talking to me in such a way. I also have many silent readers, who I appreciate a lot, but I guess that just reassures me more on the topic of ‘being silent with readers is okay’.
But please, if you have a question like ‘Are you still alive Dollie?’ or ‘how’s this work coming along?’, feel free to message me! I’ll happily reply as soon as possible! And it’ll draw my focus back onto what works I need to continue writing.
You’re my inspiration too, not just our beloved idols.
Anyway, that’s all from me! I hope you’re all looking forward to what I have in store for you.
Much love,
Dollie x

What to keep in mind while buying new car tyres
Tyres are the fundamental link between your car and the road. A good set of tyres will improve the handling, steering, acceleration and braking of your car, and will make full use of any further modifications performed to your car. This article contains the bare essentials of choosing the right set of tyres for a typical passenger vehicle without getting too technical or specific.
There are five main elements you have to consider when choosing the right set of tyres for your vehicle -
1. Tube-type or tubeless 2. Size of tyre 3. Tread pattern 4. Rubber Compound 5. Overall quality of the tyre
1. Tube-type or tubeless The answer to this question is very simple. Opt for tubeless tyres. They are safer, more advanced and have a few other small advantages too. You do NOT need to have alloy wheels in order to use tubeless tyres. However, for the best results your steel wheels should be rust free (or just buy a new set as they are very cheap) and preferably have the insides coated with an anti-rust coating.
https://www.ceat.com/blog/bike-tyres/tube-or-tubeless-find-the-best-tyre-type-for-your-bike.html?utm_source=tumblr&utm_medium=blog%20submission&utm_campaign=SEO
2. Size Size is probably the most talked about and controversial part of buying tyres if you are going for an upsize. Tyre sizes are represented in a standard format. For eg. 205/55 R 15, which can be read as follows: 205 (mm) - or 20.5cm is the width of the tread on the tyre. 55 (%) - is the height of the sidewall represented as a percentage of the tread width. R (Radial) - Radial construction, as almost all tyres are nowadays. 15 (inches) - Is the rim diameter of the wheel on which this tyre is designed to fit.
Choosing the right size can be broken up into three decisions -
i. Rim size - You have to choose a tyre size designed for exactly the size of rim you plan to mount the tyre on. Larger rims will effectively reduce the sidewall height (making the tyre lower profile) and therefore minimize sidewall flex when cornering, adding to the "on rails" feel, however, this will obviously have an adverse effect on ride quality and comfort.
ii. Tread width - Generally a 0mm-20mm increase in width from the stock size is considered within the realm of sanity in the Indian context. Keep in mind that not only size, but tyre compound also plays a large role in "grippyness".
To get a better idea of whether you should upsize your tyre width (if at all) see the following chart
Keep in mind that the tyre width also has an ideal wheel width which it works best with, try to keep this in mind otherwise you may end up having stability issues when braking hard or cornering
If you increase the width of your tyres, you should also confirm that they do not touch the wheelwells of your car on turning the steering wheel all the way and when the car is under full load.
iii. Sidewall Height (or Profile) - After selecting your rim size and your tread width, the objective is to choose a sidewall profile that keeps the overall diameter of the new tyres as close to original as possible.
Use <this> calculator to judge changes in size. Generally a difference in the range of 3-4% is considered acceptable.
Keep in mind that a change in overall diameter (OD) of your tyre & wheel combo will cause a slight error in your speedometer readings and odometers readings, which is purely academic. Also your ground clearance may change very slight (half the change in diameter).
3. Tread Pattern
The tread pattern of a tyre has a major effect on the tyres wet weather performance, which depends on its ability to channel water away from the contact patch between the tyre and the road. The tread pattern also plays a part in how much road noise is generated by the tyre due to air getting trapped and expelled from those channels during running. Tests have shown that the tread pattern of a tyre does not have as much of an effect as the compound of the tyre when it comes to traction, but nonetheless it plays a part. (Unless ofcourse you are looking at a tyre for mud, snow or sand, in which case the tread pattern plays a vital role.). Never buy re-treaded tyres; they are dangerous and not worth the little money you save. i. Conventional Tread - Is the most commonly found type. It is neither (uni)directional nor asymmetric and therefore can be run in either direction or mounted on the rim either way.
ii. Uni-Directional - These tyres are designed to be most effective when rotating in the specified direction. There will always be a marking on the sidewall of these tyres stating the direction of rotation with an arrow. The tyres with the tread pattern in some sort of "A" or "V" configuration are usually uni-directional. They work more efficiently when rotating in the specified direction primarily in terms of water chanelling and controlling tyre noise.
iii. Asymmetric - These tyres are designed to have an outside/road facing sidewall and a inside/car facing sidewall. There will always be a notation on the sidewall stating which side is to be road-facing / outside. The advantage to asymmetrical tyres is, for example, the outside shoulder of the tyre tread can be designed with a different pattern and compound of rubber to aid high speed cornering (where a lot of the the load is transfered to the road facing side of the tyre on the outside of the curve) while the rest of the tyre can be designed with a harder compound for better treadwear, or a different tread pattern for better wet weather performance etc.
4. Rubber Compound
The rubber compound used to manufacture the tyre is probably the most important factor in determining a tyre's traction and treadwear characteristics. Generally, the quality ("softness") of the rubber is proportional to the amount of traction you will get and the speed rating of the tyre, and inversely proportional to the treadlife of the tyre. Therefore the higher the speed rating of a tyre, the better the grippyness of the tyre is likely to be. Also, the way the tyre is marketed is an indicator - the "ultra-sport" will usually have a grippier compound than the "sport" or the "comfort" tyres from the same manufacturer. The compound also plays a part in the behavior of a tyre in little ways, for example, some tyres will screech and wail when approaching the limits of traction, whereas others might just let out the faintest chirp and then begin to slide.
5. Overall Quality Of The Tyre
Things to consider are -
i. Reputation of manufacturer - Ask around, read reviews, do research or just go with a well known and trusted manufacturer. It does make a difference as they have more modern facilities, better quality standards and newer equipment at their manufacturing plants.
ii. Warranty - Read the fine print. There always is fine print.
iii. Date of Manufacture - Every tyre is stamped with a four digit DOT code on its sidewall which denotes the week (first 2 digits) and year (last 2 digits) of manufacture (eg. 2104 = 21st week of 2004). The fresher the tyre you buy, the better. Try not to buy tyres that are older than 6 months, and definitely nothing older than a year.
iv. Added Technologies - Each manufacturer has different little technologies and tricks that they apply to their tyres, and named something unique and cute; don't pay too much attention to these unless it is actually something revolutionary
CEAT Car Tyres is the best tyre brand as these car tyres are made using new generation rubber compounds that enable them to withstand any and all conditions. CEAT offers durable tyres with excellent grip for a comfortable driving experience. You can visit the nearest tyre shop or buy tyres online on CEAT website

Through our conversations you will learn numerous apparatuses, and to create and use these abilities to accomplish your objectives throughout everyday life, work and love. This article manages one focal dynamic seeing someone, with an accentuation on close connections. That dynamic is the connection between private emotions and irate sentiments. It is an antiquity of our very closeness that makes us have the option to all the while feel nearer then any other individual we know, and to battle like nobody else we know. This dazzling inconsistency appropriately made do with getting, regard, and responsibility, can and ought to be the wellspring of interminable satisfaction and a happy life as a couple. There is an extremely cozy connection between warm, close, adoring emotions ( Intimacy ), which is our objective, and cool, furious, inaccessible sentiments ( all the more frequently then we might want, the issue ). Those two sentiments may appear to be, and are, from numerous points of view perfect inverses. Nonetheless, they originate from nearly, precisely, a similar spot.
Those total inverse sentiments make them thing in like manner, passionate weakness. To incredibly shifting degrees it penetrates each connection we have altogether of our connections. It is generally predominant and applicable to our close connection, and subsequently key to our conversation of relationship elements. That weakness is obvious in both our caring private connections and our furious harmful minutes, it is the actual establishment of every one of our connections. Without some degree of weakness there is no relationship by any stretch of the imagination.
We as a whole have weaknesses. We are altogether powerless in light of the fact that not a solitary one of us is awesome. It is our decision to share or make ourselves powerless against someone else that brings session a relationship. How those weakness are overseen, is the thing that decides how close a relationship will be. Since not a one of us is great, we as a whole have beneficial things about us, that we are glad for and appreciate offering to other people. These weaknesses are ones that we have a sense of security to impart to a wide scope of individuals and we do only that when we meet another person and we are putting that best foot forward. Also, we as a whole have things about us that we are not so glad for, that we would prefer not recollect not to mention share with anybody. These things, are our greatest weaknesses and hence what causes us to feel genuinely passionate powerless. We are ordinarily exceptionally cautious about whom we endow this most delicate data with. It is just those individuals whom we believe the most that we will impart our greatest weaknesses to. We share these weaknesses, just with those individuals whom we wish to be nearest to. We convey them verbally and actually, in return for closeness, and in the long run, trust and love.
Notwithstanding passionate weakness, there are different sorts of weakness that are partaken seeing someone, there is scholarly weakness, where I share my considerations, abilities, thoughts, and arrangements. There is additionally actual weakness where I portion of my actual self, we like that one.... Passionate weakness, anyway is the key "flavor" of weakness that we need to concentrate on. This is on the grounds that it is the fundamental segment of each relationship. Throughout the course of time, as we share increasingly more about ourselves, it is additionally one of the essential things that dynamically brings us closer, and closer together. Appropriately regarded and oversaw, in time it bonds us together, as a sound and upbeat couple. In our personal connections our closeness/closeness develops through the sharing of weaknesses.
Passionate weakness is just 50% of what draws us together. Notwithstanding weakness to feel close, we should likewise feel great, or protected in sharing those weaknesses. In the event that we are not happy, or don't have a sense of security with another we won't share our weaknesses. In any case, when we do have a sense of security we appreciate sharing this data. At the point when we share weaknesses and we feel tuned in to, regarded, and really focused on, we start to feel close. These warm close sentiments feel so great that we are attracted to that individual genuinely and in time truly as well. The more we share with one another and the more secure we feel, the nearer we become. As we keep on dating one and other, there normally comes when we find that we can talk for quite a long time. We miss one another and long to be together once more. At the point when we are having these long distance race discussions we start to share things about ourselves that we are not so pleased with, in short our weaknesses. As I share this advantaged data about myself, and you tune in and support me, and offer to help me in managing these things, I feel regarded, heard, really focused on, and on schedule, cherished. Through correspondence and actual touch, we develop personal sentiments and eventually fall head over heels in love for one and other. Our inevitable objective is to impart all of ourselves to one another and in the end feel adored for all of what our identity is, blemishes what not. In this way, warm, close, adoring, personal sentiments originate from the capacity to feel genuinely powerless and protected simultaneously.
Closeness develops, as I depicted, thus does .... outrage.
Outrage starts at a point on schedule after some proportion of significant closeness has been developed. This is on the grounds that before any significant annoyance will show between us there should be some proportion of shared weakness. Like closeness, outrage originates from feeling sincerely powerless, however this time hazardous simultaneously. It begins with miscommunication, and resulting errors, at that point as examples create, correspondence diminishes, and feelings of disdain start to aggregate. These feelings of hatred will arrive at a sort of minimum amount and ruinous resentment arises.
Outrage is an individual, guarded, and on occasion dangerous dynamic, that runs its course by harming the ones I love. My displeasure shields me from you by making distance between us. The reasoning is moderately straightforward, in the event that I can make sufficient distance among us, you will not have the option to hurt me and I will be protected once more. Outrage makes distance in one of two different ways, possibly I drive you away or I eliminate my self from the circumstance, whichever way I reestablish my very own security, regularly to the detriment of our common or relationship's closeness.
Outrage shows itself as disappointment when I am attempting to control what I see to be a wild circumstance. Or on the other hand when a circumstance is considerably more constant in nature, by verbally and sincerely harming the ones I love, making at that point pull back from me. This is typically refined through the abuse of cozy, favored information I have about you. Weaknesses that were divided among us to encourage and look after closeness. Which out of resentment I currently decide to abuse, to hurt you or to control you. The enduring harm outrage causes comes from the disintegration of trust between us. The harm originates from the way that the weaknesses I shared were to make closeness, and out of frustration are currently being utilized against me, to hurt me and control me. A relationship with ongoing dissatisfaction, outrage, and the essential abuse of weaknesses, will in the end dissolve the actual texture of that personal connection, our capacity to feel sincerely powerless and protected simultaneously. This article managed just one, yet a focal dynamic in personal connections, the roots of outrage and closeness. That amazing agreement is only the start of a total image of close connections. This appropriately dealt with getting, regard, and responsibility, our relationship can and ought to be the wellspring of perpetual satisfaction and that cheerfully ever after we as a whole joined for.......

#2 Destiel fics REC list
You can find my first Destiel and Cockles rec list here.
I decided to make a new one because the first one was sooo big and it was time for a fresh start. :) I will update the list whenever I have a lot of new fics to add. Right now I uploaded nearly a 100 fics, so enjoy them. :)
PS: every fic is “explicit”, or at least “mature” here. And you can find two sections: “Long fics” and “Short fics”. If you not see “AU” or “A/B/O” next to the titles it means that it’s an SPN verse/canon verse fic. I don’t like OOC fics, no matter if it’s canon verse, AU or A/B/O. There’s one exception for OOC fics in here: if it’s tooo good and beautiful with fantastic story, oh, and epic. :)
Long fics (More than 30k)
Ad Interim by emwebb17 (AU)
Castiel is invited to study at the prestigious International Academy of Art and is one of the very select few who is told about the real power of Art: people and events can be influenced by the stroke of a paintbrush. As Castiel learns more about this power, he realizes he can do a lot more than what he's being taught in the classroom. Maybe even interact with the beautiful, expressive subject of his favorite four hundred year old painting.
Anything, I repeat, ANYTHING by emwebb17 is a must read. She’s one of the best Destiel and Cockles writers. Trust me, she’s never gonna disappoint you.
~~~
The Spirit of Lawrence High verse by violue (AU)
Dean Winchester is funny, gorgeous, brave, loyal, and a breath of fresh air in Castiel Shurley's life. Dean Winchester is also a ghost haunting Castiel's school, but nobody's perfect, right?
This. Is. A. Must-read. Trust me, it’s epic and it has a fantastic happy ending, no MCD. :) Oh, and read anything by violue. She’s a genius.
~~~
Carnival Oasis series by violue (AU)
The adventures of Dean Winchester and his sin eating boyfriend.
I can’t express myself well, I can’t tell you how much I love this series. It’s a beautiful masterpiece, highly rec it. :)
~~~
Unfamiliar by riseofthefallenone (AU)
“We all know that Familiars will be the closest to you. Your bond with a Familiar will transcend family, friends, and even your future husband or wife. A Familiar becomes a part of you, and you a part of them.” Mr. Adler’s dull tone rolls across the auditorium and it’s clear to everyone that he doesn’t care about the topic. It makes Castiel feel bad for his Familiar. “Now, can anyone tell me why Witches need Familiars and why they need us?”
Riseofthefallenone is one of our best authors. Highly rec all her fics.
~~~
The Complete Works of Emmanuel Allen by violue (AU)
Dean Winchester, reluctant business owner, reluctant home owner, and reluctant cat owner, is striking up a very promising friendship with the author of his favorite book series.
And he has no idea.
Violue is one of our best authors. I highly rec all of her fics. :)
~~~
Dean Winchester Is a Gay Virgin by betts (her old name was betty days, sadrobots) (AU)
"Dean Winchester has a grand total of two big secrets:
Secret #1 is that he’s a virgin.
Secret #2 is that he’s gay."
***
Dean Winchester is a college junior, a full-time mechanic, and a baseball superstar. He's so far in the closet, he can't find a way out. Then he meets Castiel Krushnic, the totally dreamy President of the LGBTQA Alliance at school, and finds out that Cas has some dark secrets of his own.
This. Is. A. Must. Read. Anything by betts is perfect. I highly rec all of her fics.
~~~
Dear Dean by anyrei, Drunk_Idjit
Season 10. Takes place right after Dean is cured and decides to take a break from the hunting life to get back on his feet. Cas is on his mission finding rogue angels with Hannah. Sam suggests a dating website for Dean so he can look for new friends, or something more. He wants Dean to feel like a normal human being again. Cas finds out and decides to start writing to Dean anonymously through the website.
Seriously guys, you have to read this. Perfect amount of angst, hurt/comfort and fluff. Not some cliché fic, so highly rec it.
~~~
First Gentleman Wanted by youaresunlight (AU)
President of the United States Castiel Novak is popular, charismatic, and knee-deep in campaigning for a second term. He’d be the ideal candidate if it weren’t for the fact that he hasn’t dated once while in political office. With his opponent’s relentless PR team calling him incapable of emotional commitment, Castiel’s staff decides to remedy the situation by finding their boss a fake, picture-perfect boyfriend. And when Dean Winchester enters the scene, he and Cas become America’s new favorite couple, except they’ve got a whole lot of history between them and complicated feelings to resolve.
~~~
Written in the Scars on Our Hearts by elizaye (A/B/O)
Dean's... content. He's single, and he'll probably stay that way for the rest of his life. He screwed up his relationship with Cas, fucked up badly enough that no one in their right mind would take him back, and really, Dean's already stupidly lucky that he's allowed to see Ariel at all, let alone have her over at his place every other weekend. It's more than he deserves, but hell, he's not about to give it up. He's accepted the consequences for his actions, and he's content. At least, he thinks he is.
Here’s the link for the whole series.
~~~
Angel Bridge by Desirae (AU)
“Oh, I’m just peachy Cas. I just have one question for you.”
“Of course, Dean, what is it?” Cas said, reaching out a steadying hand to his chilled shoulder.
“Did you rent me a haunted fucking cabin?”
When paranormal writer Dean Winchester decided to spend a quiet summer writing in Echo Lake Maine, he never expected to stumble onto a century old Ghost story. Falling in love with his adorably sexy landlord, shop keeper Castiel Novak definitely wasn’t in his plans either. Sometimes the unexpected is the best thing that could ever happen to you.
Ignore the Butterflies: Best Friend Advice from Dean Winchester by impatient14 (AU)
What do you get when you add Firefighter!Dean to standoffish-Doctor!Castiel?
A thousand other fics, you say?
Aaaand what’s your point exactly??!?!
Dean likes his doctor, but his doctor doesn’t like him.
Accidental friendship ensues, heartwarming bonding type moments occur, and oops!friends become best!friends.
But best friends aren’t supposed to feel the way Dean feels about Castiel. He knows this. So he ignores all the things that he can’t help feeling. When he sits and watches a movie with his best friend or when they are arguing about which method of coffee brewing is best, he pointedly doesn’t look at his friends lips, or the adorable way he tilts his head when he doesn’t understand.
Dean ignores his feelings.
That’s the way he knows how to keep his best friend.
Just ignore the butterflies.
~~~
Plain and Tall by destielpasta, mtothedestiel (AU)
Dean is a Kansas farmer who only wants to work his land and care for his infant daughter. With his wife gone and his brother moving on to a life beyond the homestead, Dean finds himself in need of another pair of hands. Castiel, a lonely drifter freshly arrived in town, may prove the solution to Dean’s troubles. Over the course of four seasons, the two men face the everyday challenges of prairie life, and learn to overcome the betrayals of their past to discover a new definition of family.
~~~
Touch of Silence by anyrei
Dean touches Cas after he got his grace back and the mark is silent for the first time.
~~~
Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day by awed_frog
When Dean looks at it, he sees Cas, and he's not happy about it. When Sam looks at it, he sees Jess, which is even more unfair and fucked up. And when Cas looks at it - hell, who knows what Cas is even thinking? Dean is not asking him, because he really doesn't care - like, at all.
~~~
Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore by Lyekka
Attempting to help Castiel embrace his newfound humanity, Dean embarks on a mission to finally get his friend laid. Plot derails quickly and some shenanigans and awkward sexual tension ensue.
~~~
Kissing It Bitter Trilogy by strangenessandcharm
This was originally a one-off in which I wanted Dean to save Castiel. And then Castiel ended up reciprocating, and then Lilith got involved, and, well, this happened. Contains much sexin' and some violence... but, yeah, mainly sexin'.
~~~
Get Knocked Down, Get Back Up by Unforth (A/B/O)
With an over-sensitive sense of smell, omega Dean Winchester finds the scent of most potential mates to be, frankly, nauseating. Enter alpha Castiel, who smells fracken *perfect* but has problems of his own.
~~~
Convenient Husbands by Annie D (scaramouche) (AU)
"It's only temporary, right?" Dean says. "Just until you're healed up, and then we'll never have to see each other again. So what do you say, Castiel, do you want to marry me or not?"
A beautiful and hot must-read. :)
~~~
Gravity vs Velocity by PaperAnn (A/B/O)
Newton's law of universal gravitation states that any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two bodies.
Dean swears he feels an honest-to-goodness gravity (not any scent-true-mates-bullshit) pulling him to a mysterious omega and makes the worst mistake of his career... he only has one thing to say...
Fuck science.
~~~
The Melting ’Verse by stangenessandcharm
The epic love story of Dean and Castiel told in 110,000 words. Stuffed to the brim with angel!porn, whump, angst, action, wing!porn and occasional soppiness, and Sam doesn't get neglected either. (Although he doesn't partake in the angel!porn, I should probably add.) Some of it's really, really dark (with non-con), so be prepared for that if you're just looking for a little schmoop.
This is EPIC. With BAMF!Cas. Fantastic, I highly rec it. :)
~~~
To Raise A King by riseofthefallenone (AU)
This must be some kind of horrible joke at Castiel’s expense. Is he truly expected to protect a King? One who has been their enemy for as long as he can remember? He is much more suited to being a part of the army, or at the very least someone who helps to train the knights. That would be far more preferred than having to watch over the King. It means Castiel would get to keep fighting – and that’s the only way he knows to give meaning to his life.
~~~
Into Your Hideaway by thepinupchemist (A/B/O)
Driving down a deserted road in the Rocky Mountains, Castiel finds something unexpected: An omega. Not only an omega, but a naked, injured, pregnant omega.
Dean doesn't talk much at first, but that doesn't change the brightness of his soul.
It also doesn't stop Castiel from falling in love with him.
~~~
Thursday’s Child by strangenessandcharm
Spoilers for 5.04, 'The End'. So I got to wondering: what would have happened if past!Dean hadn’t turned up in 2014, and future!Dean had actually succeeded in killing Lucifer with the Colt? Apparently, it involves lots of angsting. Who knew? 114,000 words total.
You have to watch the fic’s trailer too. It’s fantastic.
~~~
When Worlds Collide by jhoom
When Zachariah dies, the illusions he’s created die with him. But before they collapse completely, sometimes they collide. That’s how Castiel goes from cradling Dean Winchester’s broken body one moment, to finding himself face to face with Dean Smith in the next.
This story starts in the moments after 2009 Dean is pulled from the Endverse back into his own timeline. We follow Endverse Castiel as he’s sucked into the Terrible Life Verse. Confronted with Dean Smith, Castiel begrudgingly tries to deal with the fact that he’s still alive and that he’s stuck with some strange Dean. (Worse yet, he might be developing feelings for this other man.)
But is Castiel the only one who slipped between the cracks between one world and another? And how and why did Castiel end up in Dean Smith’s apartment?
THIS! This is... Wow. This is something new and different and good and just sooo sooo beautiful. Definitly a must-read. :)
~~~
To Build A Home by anyrei, mugglerock
Dean Winchester had a quiet life. Quiet, but good. He had a great car, awesome parents, successful brother, and a beautiful house he built with his own two hands. Despite that, it had never felt like a home. And then, one day, he finds a naked man, lost and confused in the woods. How was he to know his life would never be the same again?
This is epic, and beautiful and something sooo new and great. :) I loved it so much :)
~~~
You Can't Spell Subtext
by LadyTuesday
... without S-E-X. Or, Five Times that Dean Fucked with Cas, and the One Time Cas Fucked Back.
Plot - The first time it happens, it’s a genuine accident. Dean’s mind wanders in a completely random, not-at-all-planned direction by sheer happenstance; he’d swear to it on a stack of bibles. He doesn’t mean to think of Cas while whacking it. But as he lays on the bed recovering from a mind-blowing orgasm after having a fantasy about the angel and he’s pretty sure Cas mentally witnessed said fantasy, Dean can’t help thinking … this could be fun.
~~~
The Heart of Ophelia by anyrei, mugglerock
Always throwing himself in harm’s way for the Winchesters, Castiel ends up getting hit with a love curse. Under the influence of fabricated emotions, Castiel learns just how dangerous unrequited love can be. And Dean learns what it means to doubt everything he’s ever believed. They have a week to find a way to lift the curse, otherwise the intoxication of “love” will kill Castiel. Literally.
THIS... This is sooooo good and epic, and love. Sorry, I love their works so much. xD
~~~
Our Home Below by jupiter_james (AU)
Statistically speaking, any two people in the world are sharing the breaking of a mating bond through some sort of tragedy at any given time. Unbeknownst to either of them, Castiel Novak and Dean Winchester become widowers at the same time, joining the statistics together. Through a change of scenery and the need to rebuild their shattered lives elsewhere due to the sudden breaking of their mating bonds, Castiel and Dean meet in their new hometown of Halcyon, Maine; population: barely a handful. Despite both being alphas, they are immediately drawn towards one another. Their shared circumstances, combined with the strong urge to scent bond, sends them both reeling. The only problem is that Castiel refuses to set himself up for the same heartbreak a second time. And no matter how hard Dean tries not to, he can't seem to come across as anything other than the stereotypical alpha jerk when confronted with the intriguing doctor. But fate keeps bringing them together, so Castiel keeps trying to figure Dean out, while Dean just plain old keeps trying.
Some of you know, that it’s hard for me to find great A/B/O fics. And besides that, alpha/alpja pairings is my weakness. And if these three meet with epicness, not-OOC characters and good writing... The result is something beautiful. Like this perfection. <3
~~~
like moses and batman and james dean by saltyfeathers (AU)
dean used to turn tricks. over a decade later, he met cas.
Seriously, I’m the kind of reader who closes a fic as soon as I see that the title and summary don’t have capital letters. Oh, man, I’m so glad that I didn’t do that with this epic beauty.
~~~
I Can Make You Scared by Dangerousnotbroken (AU)
So this is how it goes. Best day of Dean Winchester’s life. Loses his job, finds out he’s been cheated on, gets dumped, all in the course of one fucked up Thursday. Drinking himself into oblivion is the natural response, right? A chance encounter in a dingy dive bar gives Dean a new friend who sees his problems and likes him anyway. Now, as Dean struggles to pick up the pieces of his life, Castiel just might help him put them back together in a way he never expected.
~~~
No Words by Ltleflrt (AU)
On the run from his very powerful family, Castiel does his best to get lost. Because if he doesn't know where he is, his brothers won't be able to find him very easily either. He ends up in Silverton, a small mountain town nestled deep within the Rocky Mountains where he meets Dean Winchester, a very beautiful and very grumpy omega.
I think I finally found my most favourite, the most epic long A/B/O fic. I tried so much, they always had something that put me off, but this was perfection. Not OOC, not feminizied characters, great story and plot and and ultimate happy ending. :) Just like with “Into Your Hideaway”. I nearly cried for joy and the end, and it’s something, because it’s not easy to make my cry happy. xD
~~~
Short fics (Less than 30k)
If the World Doesn't End by Obsessionist
"If everything goes according to plan, the world won't end tomorrow. But I won't be there to see it. So since this is probably my last night on earth, I'm going to do something I have wanted to do for a very long time." -Dean's last night on Earth.
It. Is. Epic. Trust. You have to read this gem.
~~~
Gray Matter by PaperAnn (A/B/O)
It should have been a night like any other night, but for Dean Winchester this evening was different.
Tonight was his last on Earth.
The omega finally snapped; the weight of his kills moonlighting as an assassin were too heavy to carry. So he decided to set out to numb the pain with whiskey and the white noise of whatever seedy bar he randomly ambled into. Although he’d intended to drown his sorrows alone, a bold alpha (who introduced himself as Castiel) wormed his way into his party-for-one, but more importantly: his story.
After brazenly announcing that Dean’s plan to shoot himself in the head was “unoriginal,” the alpha lured him out into the bar to prove there are much more interesting and creative ways to go.
A bizarre, deranged game turns into a night of passion, and leads Dean into introspective questions he never would've asked before. Maybe everything wasn’t as black and white as he thought, maybe there’s more to his own story that he, himself, didn’t even know. The stupid fucking alpha had transformed his world into shades of gray and made him doubt everything.
Trust me, this is AN EPIC one. You have to read it, it has a mindblowing and fantastic plottwist. I know, it’s a bit heavy topic, but I swear that it has a beautiful ending.
~~~
Just After, But Before by cymbalism
Just after Purgatory, but before whatever's next, Dean has a broken angel to put back together.
~~~
The Allure of Hidden Lace by Dangerousnotbroken
Now that they've got the bunker, an actual home to live in and a place to cultivate comfort, Dean finds himself creating routines, exprimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying life off the road. He also finds that it's pretty impossible to escape the watchful eye of a former angel who seems pretty goddamned observant.
~~~
Blue by profoundfall (AU)
Dean and his boyfriend Castiel go to Sam's house where a birthday surprise is in store.
Inspired by this video.
It’s not explicit but you’ll love it, trust me. It’s beautiful.
~~~
More Than Meets the Eye by zation
Dean has the perfect life. Beautiful wife, nice kid, steady job and a great house. A white picket fence-y kind of life, really. Then one day he wakes up unexplainably sad and when he meets construction worker Castiel things just kind of spiral out of control.
Or,
The one where Dean knows something is wrong but doesn’t know what. Until he does.
~~~
Negotiating the Spot by shiphitsthefan
"They lie there in a comfortable silence for a while, Dean on his back with his eyes closed and Cas on his side curled around him. Eventually, Cas’ back starts to hurt, and his arm starts going numb beneath the pillow, squashed by the weight of his head and the odd angle. This is becoming a common problem when they cuddle after sex, and Cas doesn’t understand why."
The wet spot on the bed often poses a problem once the afterglow subsides, but rarely does it offer solutions.
A prequel to Under Honor; Honor-Bound; Until the Stars, but can easily be read as a stand-alone fic.
~~~
Porntastic 'verse by zation
Dean and Cas are waiting for Sam. Dean is bored and Cas is watching porn, apparently.
Or,
The one where Cas decides to learn by doing and where Dean reaps the benefits.
~~~
Stay by anyrei
After Dean loses Sam to the Darkness he only has his angel left.
~~~
Fucking With Fire series by Duckyboos (AU)
The story of how Dean Winchester went from a car thief to one of the baddest motherfuckers in the Russian Mafia.
~~~
I Want To Squeeze You by zation (AU)
Yeah, Sammy really wants to celebrate Dean’s birthday by buying his big bro a lap dance, except it’s not just any kind of dance and Dean is quite frankly a little uncomfortable at the prospect. But hey, who is he to deny his baby brother the chance to make him happy, right?
Or,
The one where Castiel is a fucking delicious-looking dancer and where Dean just can’t resist.
~~~
Destiel ficlets by justlittleoldunkillableme (AmbecaWatson)
Dean and Castiel share a profound bond. So much is obvious to them. They fall in love and begin to sleep with each other, taking breaks from saving the world whenever they can. But is this enough? Will they be able to preserve their love even when the tasks given to them in the set-up of the bigger story get in their way?
A series of ficlets that tie in with canon, but enhance and sweeten it with Destiel.
~~~
Angel Feathers by anyrei
Some nasty witches found a spell to harvest angel’s feathers which has huge consequences for Cas and Dean's future.
~~~
I Know What You Like by JinxedAmbitions (AU)
Castiel agrees to help Gabriel out by being a production assistant at his porn company. However, when porn star Dean Winchester comes onto him on set, who is Cas to say no, especially when Dean seems to know all the things that turn Cas on most?
~~~
Heat of the Moment by RipUpTheEnding (A/B/O)
In which Sam plans a family vacation at a horse ranch, Cas gets his first human illness (sort of), and Dean finally pulls his stupid alpha head out of his ass.
~~~
There Are No Lies on Your Body by tiptoe39
There are no lies on your body / So take off your dress / I only want to get at the truth -Meat Loaf
~~~
Hitchin' a Ride by Unforth (AU)
Dean thought his day couldn't possibly get any worse until some douche bag went and topped things off by stealing his bicycle.
~~~
We Finally Got It All Right by superhoney (AU)
Dean and Castiel are roommates. They’re best friends. Things are great the way they are. Except for the part where they’re in love with each other, but they’re both too scared to ruin their friendship by admitting it-- until one night of lowered defences, lowered inhibitions, and lowered body temperature turns into something neither of them was expecting.
~~~
The King's Angel by brimac0518 (AU)
Long has Castiel, the Angel of Azare, stood by his king's side. Yet in the face of a possible arranged marriage, can Dean, the king of Azare, let his knight go?
~~~
The Vessel by chellefic
When his vessel goes missing, Castiel turns to Dean for help.
~~~
I Could Go With You by impulse_baker
Alternate to season 11 finale: Dean can't leave without telling Cas what he has been too stupid to say for seven years.
~~~
Let's Call The Whole Thing Off by Unforth (AU)
Seasonal work is a bitch. Unemployed, crashing on Sam's couch, Dean gets an interview for a lifeguard position at Angel Enterprises. The only questions are, where is the fucking pool, and why is the Russian guy so damn hot?
Hilarious, hot, a must-read. :) Unforth is a fantastic author, highly rec all her fics. :)
~~~
Delirium and Doctor Sexy by almaasi
Dean got hit by a wave of magical gas while protecting Sam, and now he's curled up in a motel bed, watching comfort TV on his laptop and hallucinating. Cas hangs around to look after him. But Dean thinks the friendly angel at his bedside is actually his favourite fictional beefcake, Dr. Sexy, M.D.. With all inhibitions on standby, Dean might admit a few things about himself he never dared to tell anyone before.
It’s not an explicit one, but hey, it’s beautiful and almaasi is one of our best authors. Highly rec all her fics. :)

“It was Tinder!”
“Like that makes it any better. But hey, I’m not judging. And from what I can tell working with him through the label, Cas is a sweetheart, so good on you two for whatever messed up situation it is you’ve got going on.” Charlie laughs, the sound turning into a giggly sigh. “His sexting is probably so poetic.”
It’s a beautiful AU. You should give it a chance. :)

Three’s A Crowd by strangenessandcharm
Okay, so, you’re a ghost. And you’re in love with Dean Winchester, but he doesn’t know you exist. Awkward, right? So you find yourself caught in a love triangle between a ghost, a human and an angel, and you’re the only one who even knows it’s even happening. Frankly, it’s driving you nuts...

Freckles by 2spooky4u
"I had to draw all them perfectly," Cas insists, and Dean suddenly can't get rid of the image of Cas, clutching on to a Crayola washable marker, jamming it into his skin forcefully like a little kid mashes his markers on the paper in a vehement attempt to make the color deeper.
"And now you're insulted 'cause I don't appreciate 'em?" Dean asks, bewildered.
"No," Cas lies petulantly.
"Huh." The stubborn child version of Cas Dean has painted in his mind is now clutching his paper possessively, shielding it from scrutiny.
They drive in silence for a while.
"Thank you for making my freckles," Dean grouses finally, knowing that it's the only way Cas will forgive him.

Eyes on the Road, Hands On The Wheel by Chiyume

Oscillation by nekosmuse
Sexual identity crisis aside, Dean's man enough to admit he's in love with Castiel. Has been for years. Which would be fine, really, if he could get past the whole unrequited, unworthy business, because maybe then he could move on with his life, get back to having sex on a semi-regular basis. Aaron's the first person to pique his interest in far, far too long.
~~~
Roost by almaasi (AU)
Fluffy chicken AU. Dean is a dangerous, black-feathered fiend – a demon in the ring, hell-bent on tearing his opponent apart so that he himself might live. He's a bird bred to fight. His last match was against the infamous Castiel, a dominating white gamecock with nigh uncontrollable power. The duel was meant to be to the death. But then it all ended; they were put in cages and carted off to somewhere much brighter and greener. Now Dean and Castiel are no longer sparring partners, but yardmates. It's not so bad. There's ample food, clean water, and lots of lady chickens. Yet, for some reason, neither Dean nor Castiel feel very inclined to roost with the girls – or murder each other, for that matter.
It’s not explicit but trust me, this is an epic one, and will kill you with all the Destiel feels. :)
And in the Dark, I see Your Light by Chiyume
Very slowly, Dean turns. 'How'd you know I was here about a room?' 'Power of deduction,' says Castiel, leaning against the doorway. 'I mean, you're not after pot, and I'm pretty sure we haven't slept together.' He grins wolfishly, gaze sliding over Dean's body. 'You, I'd remember.' Dean's been hit on by guys before, but never so blatantly, let alone by a semi-naked dude in a kimono. A hot blush warms his cheeks, and he covers his shock with cockiness, tilting his head and grinning. 'Sorry to disappoint you, Cas, but I don't swing that way.' Castiel throws back his head and laughs. 'And you want to live here? What, did your friends put you up to this?' 'Actually, yeah.' Dean raises an eyebrow. 'Is that a problem for you?'
Castiel is a professional photographer for a leading clothing magazine. He doesn't talk much; his words are limited to the instructions he gives to the models he photographs. Dean is a shy but particularly bratty underwear model with a penchant for women's lingerie, and has no intention of bottoming for anyone. Castiel finds a chance to push his own boundaries when he's left alone with Dean for the first time. Cas is prepared to bottom without complaint, but that's not to say he will be relinquishing any of his precious power to Dean at all.
Firsts by deadhuntress
Dean had slowly come to realize that he didn’t want to die young and bloody; he wanted to live as long as possible. He didn’t want a new woman every night, he wanted a lifelong companion. And the biggest realization: he knew who he wanted that companion to be.
Dean and Castiel progress through a series of firsts.
A Place to Rest by Phoenixfeather
"Cas ..." the name comes out a strangled croak. He clears his throat before he tries again. "Cas, how can you still say it?"
Noise Complaint by Ltleflrt (AU)
Dean's neighbors are loud, and the walls are thin, but that's all easy to ignore. Except for the loud sex sounds coming from the neighbor on the other side of his bedroom wall. And even that wouldn't bother him too much if his neighbor didn't sound so bored.
Warm and Wilder by Sass_Master
It’s intoxicating to have Dean pliant and moaning beneath him, pulling him closer for desperate kisses. It makes Castiel want more, to push harder, wring every ounce of pleasure he can out of Dean, leave him a spent, shaking mess. Those thoughts alarm him sometimes, always aware of the otherworldly strength he possesses, constantly fighting to keep it in check.
“Shit, Cas,” Dean says afterwards, voice shaky. “You sure like throwing your weight around, huh?” he mutters, pressing tentative fingers to his hips, his delicate neck, already mottled with purple from Castiel’s overeager mouth.
Dean will have marks because of him, has them already, blooming bright on his smooth skin. This is exactly what Castiel was worried about.
Along My Restless Palms by Sass_Master
Ever since Cas started staying in the bunker, Dean’s been having these crazy dreams—dreams that feature him and Cas in absurd, tawdry scenarios like something out of a filthy paperback. Dean chalks it up to exhaustion, or some monster messing with his head, anything to ignore the real cause: Cas in his personal space, in various states of undress, and, wow, way more muscular than Dean would’ve expected.
But if it’s just physical lust that’s the cause, then that’s an easy fix, right? No big deal. There’s definitely nothing else that his subconscious is trying to tell him. Absolutely not.
Three is the Magic Number by Persephoneshadow
“You boys need anything else?” Mandy ask when she reappears beside the table, eyes bright and hopeful. “Coffee? Tea?” Her eyes rake over Cas and she bites her lip, sending every signal in the book. “Some dessert?”
Dean grins as Mandy looks between them, mostly at Cas. Cas gives Dean the ‘is that an innuendo?’ squint and Dean nods. “You know in fact we would like some dessert. My buddy here’s kind of shy about it so we were hoping for…something to take back to our room.”
“Really?” Mandy purrs, finally looking at Dean with some interest.
“Yeah, but we were hoping for something we could split.” Mandy’s eyebrows go high just as Cas’s eyes get even narrower. “Anything like that on the menu?”
Mandy looks between the two of them, licking at her lips. “I think I can get something like that for you.”
Long Time Coming by CrowleysMooseSquirrelsAngel
Cas finally drops the L-bomb, and it shouldn't affect Dean this much because Cas was directing it at all of them...except that he kind of wasn't, because if he was then Dean wouldn't be alone in a room with him, undressing him. Just to clean him up, of course. Totally innocent.
Yes, Dean by whichstiel
Dean stares over at Cas. The angel is perched on one of the double beds examining his blood and black-goo stained clothes. As he watches, Cas presses a careful hand against his side over the healed spear wound. He looks like he's trying to read the dictionary upside down and in the mirror. Dean clears his throat and leans back from where he's standing over Sam's research. “You okay there, man?” he asks.
“Yes, Dean.” Cas's reply is terse.
He Knows Where He Should Go by 60r3d0m
He should’ve seen it coming, what happens then, because it’s been a long time that Cas has been saying these things, a long time that Dean’s watched him silently suffer but not speak up, and when Cas finally does say it—when he finally verbalizes what’s been implied for so long with a clench of his jaw and those eyes—those bright, bright eyes, Dean thinks—Dean feels his whole form shake, a shudder that goes through him that leaves his body chilled, that leaves his mind frozen (it scares him more than death).
“You think I deserve to die?” Cas says and Dean feels himself shatter.
Dean Hates Castiel's Cock by Speary
Dean Smith's move to a little gated community on the edge of town was meant to bring him a little peace, an apple pie life. For This Night and All Nights to Come by thepopeisdope (AU)
Back in the southern castle Castiel once called home, cold was used to describe a bath that had sat too long and was no longer steaming, or a room with a draft. It was cold if one had to put on a tunic with sleeves to go riding.
North of the Wall, cold takes on a whole new meaning. Here, cold means frozen rations and endless snow, frostbitten limbs and stolen breaths. Cold is steel biting at your throat in a wordless threat. Cold is when the dead rise again.
Seriously, GoT and SPN crossover??? Night’s Watch!Castiel??? Wildling!Dean? Should I say more? No. I nearly cried from this fic’s beauty, it’s perfection. <3
Doms have to act a certain way: everyone knows that. Stand tall, walk proud, be bold, take control. Dean's played along his whole life, acting as biology dictate he should, while all the while he longed for someone to put him in his place.
Finding a club that catered to anonymous hook-ups, no questions asked, was easy.
Putting on the collar, and finding a dom willing to take a chance on a "sub" who doesn't look the part? That might be a bit harder...
THE RECIPE WAS THE SAME GROUP OF PROGRAMMERS
Startups are as impersonal as physics. I think the key to this puzzle is to remember that art has an audience.1 It's just something we use to move wealth around. Look at what a hard time Microsoft is having discovering web apps. Most people who write about procrastination write about how to make them work, and other people trying to do. You certainly don't have freedom: no boss is so demanding. I say up. I was growing up. But because humans have so much more confidence that they seem as if they've grown several inches taller. And in the early stages, giving up upside and risk for a smaller but guaranteed payoff. In 1995, the e-commerce business was very competitive as measured in press releases, but not about observing proprieties.
It's obvious that biotech or software startups exist to solve hard technical problems, but for the moment the best I can offer is the hopelessly question-begging advice that if you trust your instincts about people. The problem with working slowly is not just that technical innovation happens slowly. And the big hits often look risky at first. But in technology, you cook one thing and delimiters say another, we go by the indentation. But the short version is that if there were some program you wanted to write, and the big bang method. Most of the greatest fortunes have probably involved several of these. And it's a skill you can learn quickly enough that car means the first element of a list and cdr means the rest.2
One disadvantage of living off the revenues. And so interfaces tend not to give you advice that surprises you. But of course if you really get it, you can use this information in a way that's more valuable to you than that. It's hard to design good libraries. One of the biggest remaining groups is computer programmers. By way of summary, let's try describing the hacker's dream language. Languages are for programmers, and that language is not the brand name, capital, and distribution clout, they'll take away your market overnight. After a few days it will be. What would you think of technology as something that's spreading like a sort of fractal stain, every moving point on the curve that you want to start your own startup, Viaweb, to make software for building online stores. I realize I might seem to have an enviable life, but there are things you can write the first version of a program is proportionate to its complexity, and a startup especially, is to make a quick sketch when you have to go with your gut. When someone contradicts you, they're in a position of having to choose one out of God's book, and something to hack—how do you turn your mind into the type that has good startup ideas is to get yourself to the leading edge of technology moves fast.
I've read was not in a position of having to choose one out of God's book, and something that's expensive, obscure, and appealing in the short term. For one thing, the official fiction is that you can't choose when it happens. So saying startups should move to Silicon Valley and raised money there. Now a candidate probably couldn't get away with changing more than you realize.3 And in fact, when we funded Airbnb, we thought, let's make something people want. It's easy to convince investors is to make a quick sketch when you have to go back to programming in a language where you have to install before you use it. Nothing is hidden from you that doesn't absolutely have to be optimistic and skeptical about two different things. Think about what you have to do to write or read it. Look for the people who say that the goal of a language is what happens in college. At the moment those two functions are separate.
But understanding the relationship between meanness and success inversely correlated? Well, food shows that pretty clearly. Because, in effect, simultaneously choose all the management companies to run yours for you, in whatever proportion you wanted, you wouldn't need money. You can have wealth without having money. The manual is thin, and has to do all the company's errands as well as talent, so this answer works out to be sure signs of bad algorithms.4 You're expected not to be an expert on startups, but as I explained before, this is a constant problem when you're painting still lifes. Performance is always the ultimate test, but it is not all they're for, then what else are they for, and how much is due to the creators of past gadgets that gave the company a reputation for succinctness would be the number of simultaneous users will be determined by the amount of memory you need for each user's data. And when motivated by that you find you can do to keep the two forces balanced. The only thing worth talking about first is the problem you're solving, and then at each point a day, a week, a month feel you've put so much time that it was too crazy.
They would rather overpay for a safe choice. How do you get bought? The other thing you get from work experience is the elimination of certain habits left over from childhood. Everyday life gives you no practice in this.5 Everyday life gives you no practice in this. It's really true. Steve Wozniak put this very strongly: All the best things that I did at Apple came from a not having money and b they can spend their time how they want.6 Conversely, a language that doesn't make your programs small is doing a bad job of what programming languages are for. When you only have to interrupt someone a couple times a day before they're unable to work on. And what we've found is that the company has no way of measuring the value of the succinctness test is as a guide in designing languages.7 Humans were not designed to eat are a few differences: life is not as hard as you possibly can. If you have impressive resumes, just flash them on the screen for 15 seconds and say a few words.
Though of course if it were.8 Expert hackers can tell a good language? Be sure to ask about how they funded themselves with breakfast cereal. Here, again, language designers are somewhat out of touch with their users.9 This way of convincing investors is better suited to hackers, and learning what they want.10 I have to get better at picking winners. In our world, you sink or swim, and there are no excuses.
If anything it may have helped foster a Perl cult. Pundits said Carter beat Ford because the country distrusted the Republicans after Watergate. They'll make sure that suing them is expensive and takes a long time: for several years at the very heart of hacking. You can't make the pie larger, say politicians. In every presidential election since TV became widespread, the apparently more charismatic candidate has won. You're trying to solve problems. It's the same principle as incremental development: start with a simple prototype, then add features, but at first it takes a conscious effort to find smart friends.
Notes
If Paris is where people care most about art.
Often as not the distinction between them. Google was founded, wouldn't offer to invest but tried to attack and abuse. Google proved them wrong.
2%. If you were doing Viaweb again, I'd open our own Web site. The reason not to. The unintended consequence is that a startup, both of whom have become.
As far as I make this miracle happen?
But becoming a Texas oilman was not something big companies could dominate through economies of scale.
But the usual misquotation is closer to a clueless audience like that, the only way to answer the question of whether public company CEOs in 2002 was 3. But a couple hundred years ago. That name got assigned to it because the processing power you can survive without external encouragement. The trustafarians' ancestors didn't get rich, people who said they wanted to make people use common sense when intepreting it.
I call it procrastination when someone works hard and doesn't get paid to work like blacklists, I mean this in terms of the court. It's surprising how small a problem so far done a pretty comprehensive view of investor behavior.
Even in English, our contact at Sequoia, was starting an organic farm, though.
To be fair, the switch in the 1960s, leaving the area around city hall a bleak wasteland, but also very informative essay about it well enough to convince at one remove from the formula. Hypothesis: A company will either be a hot deal, I can't tell you all the more subtle ways in which practicing talks makes them better: reading a draft of this essay wrote: My feeling with the issues they have to talk to mediocre ones. It might also be good.
To get all that matters to us. Perhaps the solution is to be actively curious. In one way to answer your question.
By DeYtH Banger "Randal’s intention here is to argue for the existence of God from the supposed existence of objective aesthetic beauty. For me, this is simple. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It has to be. There is no beauty in the world at all, just as there isn’t anything ugly either. There is no color or sound or taste or smell or pain in the world. All that exists is raw, uninterpreted stuff. There are objects having certain shapes, objects that are made up of certain particles reflected in the periodic table of elements, and objects that are made of molecules and atoms. There are also wavelengths originating from moving objects or particles emitting from them. So seeing is dependent on a beholder. Hearing is dependent on a hearer." - John W. Loftus "What we find beautiful is largely based on our biology and thus explained by evolution. Just consider what the various animals in the world may think is beautiful. Take dogs for instance. Their olfactory senses are extremely sensitive. I saw a program in which a bloodhound was given the scent of a particular man and subsequently found the seat where that man had sat among thousands of seats in a huge stadium. But guess what smells wonderful to these dogs? Butts. Smelly, stinky butts. They stick their noses in them—especially butts of other dogs. It must smell really good to them, beautiful that is, even though with their sense of smell it must be extremely bombshell-busting strong." - John W. Loftus "The Bible speaks often as if God doesn’t know the future (Gen. 22:12; Deut. 13:3; Jer. 3:7, 19–20; 26:3; 32:35; Ezek. 12:3; and Jon. 3:10). Why then should we think there is any reason he can…" - John W. Loftus "There are a few easily seen failed prophecies. Isaiah predicted the river Nile would dry up (Isa. 19:5–7). Isaiah predicted Damascus would cease to be a city (Isa. 17:1–2). Ezekiel predicted Nebuchadnezzar would destroy the city of Tyre (Ezek. 26:7–14) but later admitted this didn’t happen (Ezek. 29:17–20). Revising his original prediction, Ezekiel predicted instead that Egypt would become desolate and that Nebuchadnezzar would conquer it (Ezek. 29:8–12, 19–20). But that too never happened. Jeremiah predicted Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, would have no successor (Jer. 36:30) even though he was succeeded by Jehoiachin, his son (2 Kings 24:6). The prophets Haggai and Zechariah both predicted in their day that Zerubbabel was the long-awaited messiah (Hag. 2:20–23; Zech. 4:6:9–13; compare Zech. 6:9–15…" - John W. Loftus "Almost every scientific study done on prayer has shown that prayers are not statistically answered any better than luck.[72] Research has shown us that people are prone to misjudge the true probabilities for any given event—we’re often wrong. Take a deep breath right now. Mathematician John Allen Paulos asks us to consider the odds of whether we have just inhaled a molecule that came out of Caesar’s mouth when he said, “You too Brutus?” You’ll probably doubt this, but he shows that the odds of this happening stand at about 99 percent.[73] The fact is that incredible coincidences are common, even virtually certain, given enough opportunities for them to occur in the lives of millions of believers. The most we can say about them is that their causes are unknown. So once again Randal is arguing from the gaps—a…" - John W. Loftus "When it comes to miracles due to prayer, it gets worse. Believing in them demands a nearly impossible double burden of proof. What believers must show is that a miracle could not have happened within the natural world because it was nearly impossible (or else it’s not considered miraculous). Then they must turn right around and claim such an impossible event probably took place anyway. The probability that a miracle actually took place is inversely proportional to the probability that such an event could take place (i.e., the less probable it is that a miracle could take place, then the more probable it is that it didn’t take place), so the improbability of a miracle claim defeats any attempt to show it probably happened. That’s why extraordinary claims of miracles demand a greater amount of solid evidence for them (e.g., if a person tells us he levitated, we need more than just his testimony to believe him)…" - John W. Loftus "Believers have built in biases to accept miracles because they have a need to believe them. It basically shows us that people are still agency detectors—something we inherited from our animal ancestors. Since we know this about ourselves, it should cause us to be skeptical that there are agents behind unexplained events. That there are some unexplained events I’ll admit, just as there are some good things said in the Bible concerning women and animals. But the bad things must be explained and not just explained away. This raises the problem of suffering (or evil). There is no excuse for a good God not to do miracles for the millions of believers who suffer intensely around the world. For every personal claim of a miracle healing, there are perhaps hundreds of thousands of people who receive no such thing." - John W. Loftus "We do indeed have a design filter preprogrammed into us from our animal ancestors to see agents behind improbable events given the proper circumstances. We are also not good at predicting the actual probabilities of an improbable event. So we should not trust personal anecdotal evidence but instead trust the scientific studies on prayer." - John W. Loftus "We suffer from allergies, colds, migraines, Alzheimer’s disease, anemia, asthma, bronchitis, colitis, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy, gallstones, gastritis, glaucoma, gout, abnormal blood pressure, kidney stones, chicken pox, small pox, polio, Parkinson’s disease, psoriasis, strokes, sudden infant death syndrome, thrombosis, tumors, typhoid fever, ulcers, Lou Gehrig’s disease, Lyme disease, malaria, rabies, rickets, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, tuberculosis, diphtheria, leprosy, measles, meningitis, mumps, pneumonia, rubella, syphilis, shingles, scoliosis, whooping cough, Down syndrome, hemophilia, Huntington’s disease, muscular dystrophy, sickle cell anemia, Tay-Sachs disease, AIDS, infertility, and so on. Major epidemics have decimated us, like the ones occurring in the years AD 542, 1331, 1556, and 1918. There are birth defects that include people born with two heads, with deformed limbs, blind, deaf, mute; and people born with mental deficiencies including dementia, bipolar disorder, and paranoid schizophrenia. There is much more I could add, but thinking people get the point. There isn’t an intelligent designer. Even if Randal still believes there is one anyway, this supernatural force (or being) is not a benevolent one, much less an omnibenevolent one. To argue that this is all Eve’s fault in Eden is scapegoating." - John W. Loftus "Randal is taking an irrational leap over the probabilities. A good, intelligent creator should show he cares for each individual on this planet. If he does not, we can reasonably conclude he either does not care or he does not exist at all. He’s punting to God’s omniscience as an answer—something other theists do to save their own omniscient God from refutation, making faith unfalsifiable. This proves once again that believers must be convinced their faith is nearly impossible before they will consider it improbable, which is an unreasonable standard. Even if God is omniscient and has higher ways than us, we still must know enough of his ways to know that he exists and that he cares for us—and if omniscient, he should know this about us." - John W. Loftus "First look at J. L. Schellenberg’s persuasive argument from divine hiddenness: 1. If there is a God, he is perfectly loving. 2. If a perfectly loving God exists, reasonable nonbelief does not occur. 3. Reasonable nonbelief occurs. 4. No perfectly loving God exists (from 2 and 3). 5. Hence, there is no God (from 1 and 4).[83] If I have shown anything in this book, then I have a reasonable nonbelief. Therefore, unless someone can still maintain against the evidence that I don’t have a reasonable nonbelief, Schellenberg’s argument has been shown correct. Now consider Theodore Drange’s persuasive argument from unbelief for the existence of an evangelical God. 1. God wants all humans to believe before they die. 2. God can bring about that all, or almost all, humans believe before they die. 3. God always acts in accordance with what he most wants. 4. If God exists, all or almost all humans would believe before they die (from 1). 5. But not all humans believe before they die. 6. Therefore, God does not exist (from 2 and 3)" - John W. Loftus "The reason we sometimes act like brutes is because we evolved from them. There is therefore no need for atonement. It’s who we are, and it’s something that we alone can fix as morality evolves. The only reason Randal believes our rage (or sins) need atoning is because he was raised in a Western, Christianized culture. The vast majority of people in the world do not think someone like Jesus needs to be punished to death for the rest of us to be forgiven by a god." - John W. Loftus
What are Positive Displacement Mud Motors in Drilling for Oil and Gas?
Positive-Displacement Motors (PDM) make use of a power generation section which is made up of a rotor/stator combination. In order to move a rotor part, a PDM requires hydraulic power from drilling fluid flowing through the power generation part. With a PDM, the stator and rotor work in tandem in the same way that gears do. The stator acts as the outer gear, and is made from a moulded elastomer featuring at least two lobes. The OD of the elastomer is protected by a secure metal casing. The rotor is positioned within the stator, and acts as an internal gear. This rotor is made of metal, and will have one less gear or lobe than the stator. Because of this difference, a cavity is created which is filled with drilling fluid when the PDM is downhole. This cavity acts as a wedge when it is put under pressure, and because the drilling fluid itself can’t be compressed, the force applied to the top of the wedge causes the rotor to move.
Figure 1 – Mud Motor
Given the helical shape of the rotor, such an application of force causes the rotor to rotate. As with a turbine, this rotation is then transmitted to the drive shaft and from there on to the drill bit. A seal around the cavity is produced as a result of contact between the OD of the rotor and the ID of the stator, as seen in Figure 2. This means that torque is applied to the rotor in order to overcome the resistance caused by the bit/formation interface and contact resistance between internal motor components.
Figure 2 – Mud motor rotation (Wikipedia, 2018)
In a turbine, torque and bit speed are dependent on each other; this is not so within a PDM. However, an exception to this rule is where the rotor is “nozzled” (when a bore through the rotor is used to divert a portion of the drilling fluid). As per the theory , torque is proportional to differential pressure (which increases at the surface as WOB increases), as bit speed is also proportional to the flow rate. The torque is proportional to the cube diameter of the motor, and the speed is inversely proportional to this same factor. Therefore, power is proportional to the square of the motor diameter. A function of the stator/rotor sliding speed during rotation is the speed limitation of the PDM. This is also affected by the drilling fluid velocity through the cavities.
The rotor/stator configuration is what controls the torque/bit speed relationship as seen in Figure 3 . When the number of rotor/stator lobes increases from the single lobe arrangement of conventional motors to multiple lobes, the bit speed will decrease, while the torque production will increase. This allows for the optimization of torque and bit speed, which is needed for roller-cone bits and drag-type PDC bits. Normal PDMs cannot meet these output necessities.
Figure 3 – Mud Motor Configuration, RPM, Torque Relationship (directionaldrillingart.blogspot.com, 2017)
Components of PDM
This information below explains main components of PDM.
Dump Valve
The by-pass valve, or dump valve, is shown in Figure 4 below. It is used to allow drilling fluid to fill the drillstring from the annulus when it is tripping into the wellbore, or to drain it when it is tripping out. Thanks to this valve, the bottom of the wellbore maintains a constant pressure, which helps to prevent control problems during trips.
Figure 4 – Dump Valve(directionaldrillingart.blogspot.com, 2017)
Power Section
In the power section (Figure 5), the spiral shaped rotor produces rotation when the drilling fluid force acts upon it. Should the bit/formation resistance to rotation (known as the drilling torque requirement) be too great, then the drilling fluid can potentially cause the elastomeric material of the stator to become deformed temporarily. The division or seal between high and low pressure is then lost, which causes the motor to stall. As the pressure inside each cavity decreases from leakage of fluid volume past the lost seal, there will be a significant pressure increase at the surface. This means that the motor needs to be lifted off the bottom, and then restarted. Should the stall not be properly corrected, the stator will be permanently damaged, and the life of the overall motor reduced. This is especially important when working with higher flow rates or high differential pressures. Less applied differential pressure will mean fewer stalls.
Figure 5 – Power Section (Dyna-Drill.com, 2018)
The center axis of stator and rotor are not identical. The offset between these two center points is known as “eccentricity”. When the rotor turns within the stator, its axis moves around that of the stator. One full rotation around this stator access is called a nutation or precession. To find a PDM’s precessional speed, one must multiply the rotational speed by the number of rotor lobes. This process is, in effect, a gear reduction mechanism, and accounts for why the bit speed will decrease when the rotor/stator lobe configuration is increased.
The stator itself is formed out of a steel tube, lined with elastomer, and with spiraled lobes which correspond to the rotor. The material needs to be rigid enough to withstand abrasion and wear from the solids in the drilling fluid, but also flexible enough to provide enough of a seal on the rotor. It is therefore necessary to find some midpoint between these two demands. The materially also needs to be minimally affected by the numerous chemicals in the drilling fluid, as well as normal operating temperatures. It is vital that the elastomer bonds properly to the steel casing. It needs to be completely clean, to allow for effective adhesion.
After this is done, the elastomeric material needs to be pumped into its proper place, to prevent air pockets developing between the elastomer and its casing, as well as within the elastomer itself. Finally, an intricate curing process needs to take place. Although this is considered proprietary, it is nonetheless similar to the procedures used to heat-treat various metals.
Power Curves
PDM Power Curves are an extremely useful source of specific data when required drilling parameters are known. There are four major parameters displayed on the Power Curve format used here:
Output Torque (foot-pounds)
Output Rotational Speed (revolutions per minute)
Total Pressure Drop (pounds per square inch)
Drilling Fluid Flow Rate (gallons per minute)
Figure 5 – Power Cure of Mud Motor (Halliburton, 2018)
These graphs refer specifically to a stated design (i.e. a rotor/stator configuration), and one where water is used as the fluid medium. Should a fluid of a higher density or viscosity be used, the torque and pressure drop will subsequently be higher. Using weighted fluid will have an impact on the parasitic (free-running) pressure losses which are a part of the total pressure drop. Said parasitic pressure losses are in part a result of contact between the particles of barite which is used to raise the density of the fluid. When the drilling fluid weight goes up, so too does the amount of solid particles and thereby the particle-to-particle contact.
In addition, if a fluid is used which is more viscos than water, the torque output will be larger than the one indicated by a water-based curve. This is because thicker fluids result in a better seal between rotor and stator, maximizing the differential pressure that may be applied. Given the direct relationship between torque production and applied differential pressure, higher differential pressure across the PBM means there will be greater torque production than that shown on the Power Curve, as the seal is improved.
Transmission Assembly
The Transmission Assembly takes care of the eccentric rotation, or precession, of the rotor, which needs to be stabilized within the stator when the mechanical energy reaches the bit. On top of this purpose, the transmission assembly will also absorb some of the hydraulic thrust which originates in the power section, and transmit the generated torque to the drive or output shaft. There are multiple designs used in the drilling industry to achieve this purpose.
Figure 6 – Transmission Assembly (http://steelmakingmachine.com, 2017)
Bearing Assembly
Bearing assembly which consists of radial and axial thrust bearing supports a transmission assembly. The bearing assembly transmits rotational force from the the transmission assembly and support both trust load and radial bending load while drilling.
Figure 7 – Bearing Assembly
There are two types of bearing assembly.
Oil Sealed Bearing Assembly – This type is recommended to use when corrosive drilling fluid is utilized, there is a lot of LCM to be pumped through the BHA or it is required to have very low pressure drop across the bit.
Mud Lubricated Bearing Assembly – This type use some of mud flowing through the bearing assembly. Typically, it is about 4 – 10% of mud which is used to lubricate and cool the shaft and bearings.
Adjustable Bend Housing
An adjustable bend housing (figure 8) connects a bearing assembly to a stator and it also provides protection to a transmission assembly. The bending on a mud motor can be adjusted in order to achieve a required build rates while sliding. If the angle is set at 0 degree bend, it is normally used to improve drilling performance in a vertical well since a bit will spin faster than a rotary drilling.
What I’ve learned from Youtube fitness
‘Youtube fitness’ is a challenge to all conventional definitions of fitness. It is a category on its own and a whole different ball game. On the face of it, Youtube fitness teaches us how to be ripped and strong and healthy. But look a little closer and it becomes a bustling microcosm of the modern society that provides a riveting daily account of its current condition. Like many of us, I first turned to Youtube fitness for advice on lifting and nutrition. What I’ve found there exceeded even the wildest expectations. This post will sum up some of the lessons I’ve learned...
Lesson 1. Youtube fitness is a parade of egotism and idiocy. Sometimes it takes a few videos to know you’re dealing with a moron; other times it only takes a few seconds. Some Youtubers are hilariously clueless, some dangerously delusional, some will expose the cluelessness and delusion and turn it into comedy. Some are straight up demented...
There’s also a good deal of opportunism and hostility in the mix. Personal attacks are frequently used as a traffic-boosting tactic. It is almost fascinating to watch people fight their little virtual wars, get triggered and sport verbal abuse against each other, dog on each other, have each other’s videos taken down, and so on. A 'diss’ video usually sparks a response video, and on it goes. At the end of the cycle there’s often an apology video. It’s like show business or politics - repetitive and predictable but at the same time oddly entertaining. And just like in show business or politics, a legitimate specimen is an extreme rarity. Thankfully a handful of them exist and are deservedly doing pretty well.
Lesson 2. Youtube fitness is full of bullshit advice, bullshit stories, bullshit products. After years of training, when you’ve gotten to understand that bodybuilding is a long-term game, to spot a mercenary with an agenda becomes a lot easier. The word ‘shortcut’ makes me cringe because I know there are no shortcuts unless via the syringe. But I wasn’t always like that. An eon ago when I was starting my adventure with fitness I was so gullible I’d probably pay for a sham program it if was packaged nicely. Thankfully there was no Youtube. There wasn’t even the Internet. On the bright side though, there is some legitimate advice on Youtube, too, but it does take a little bit of experience and critical thinking to spot the real deal.
Lesson 3. Youtube fitness is a business and businesses exist to make money. You must invest to get a return. By the laws of economy, the amount of money spent on producing a professional video is in inverse proportion to the value of information that video contains. It’s logical - you don't spend a fortune on advertising a product only to give it away for free afterwards. A professional crew, expensive light rigs, cameras for A-roll and B-roll, post-production - that’s a king’s ransom right there! The outcome is simply a prestigious-looking sales pitch (which is still just a sales pitch) aimed to create an impression of credibility and lure you into signing up for paid content.
Lesson 4. Youtube fitness rails against bro science but has little to offer instead, other than more bro science dressed up in sophisticated terminology. Most Youtube nutrition tutors and health experts could not answer a simple practical question. The advice is often chaotic and self-contradictory but when it is delivered in a confident manner by a guy wearing a white coat, it sure makes an impact. Sadly, the question in the title of the video hardly ever gets answered. The idea is to confuse you with vague collateral (loosely related to the subject, at best) and keep you coming back in search of answers.
Lesson 5. Youtube fitness insists on busting myths but all it does is introduce more myths. I’ll give you an example. I’ve seen videos discrediting bulking and cutting as a myth. During a bulk - so the argument goes - you’re gaining muscle but you’re also gaining fat, while during a cut you’re losing fat but also losing muscle. At the bottom of the balance sheet you’re back to where you started. That’s just silly! Fat loss is much easier and happens quicker than muscle breakdown. Plus, if you keep your routine going and ensure proper nutrition, the muscle will stay, guys. Some of the muscle glycogen will wear off and you may look a little less bulky, but you will retain the muscle. You will actually become more defined and vascular, and overall more shredded-looking.
Another example of a myth that Youtube is so eager to bust these days is the myth of overtraining. I see plenty of buff guys on there explaining to me how I’m never going to reach overtraining because overtraining is reserved for a small percentage of high-performance athletes who train extremely hard for hours every day. Oh, really? What about hormones? Each day of the week I spend 10 hours at work absolutely grilling my nervous system, which elicits the same type of stress response as does hours of training. And I do that even before I even get to the gym! So yes, I am very much at risk of experiencing overtraining symptoms, people. And so are you. You don’t have to be a professional athlete for that. I am producing cortisol like crazy for 13 to 14 hours each day, sometimes longer. It adds up!
Lesson 6. In an endless chase for click traffic, Youtubers will focus their videos on what’s popular at the time, as opposed to what’s important or valuable. Whenever a trend comes along everyone will rush to make videos about it. If you don’t offer an opinion on a popular subject your subscribers may ditch you for someone who does. And if there’s little to no research on the subject and you’re not willing or smart enough to investigate it yourself, just rip off what others did. Don’t forget to sound like you’re the smartest guy in the room. Then upload your video and call it good. A week later you won’t remember what you were advocating. Next time a trend comes along you will make a video on it too. Basically, you’ll keep replicating superficial and unverified information other Youtubers post on their channels. There will be no coherence across your content and you will contradict yourself from video to video. Worse still, you will be using whatever scant information you manage to pick up to support your agenda. That’s opportunism. And a scam.
Lesson 7. There are predominantly 4 types of Youtube fitness personalities. There’s the jacked guy with no fat on him whose looks everybody wants. There’s the blocky natural lifter, strong and intimidating, with excessive fat and barely any definition, whose deadlift is enviable, unlike his physique. There’s the almost muscular, almost shredded guy who looks like any gym debutante after a couple of months of lifting on a junk diet. Finally there’s the smart guy who doesn’t need gains because he has the brains - this one's usually fully dressed, talks like a book and likes to call himself a doctor. The jacked guy - whose bulky frame and chiseled structure are the very embodiment of your dream physique - is the type most of us will want to take advice from, in hope that it might get us his looks. Sadly - and here’s my lesson - this guy is usually on some type of synthetic compound. Whatever he preaches couldn’t work for you, unless you’re part of the Anabolic-Androgenic Syndicate… You want to listen to the naturals even if they look like shit. The nerdy doctor type may need to be taken with an extra pinch of salt though. He can quote from the book but whether he's able to relate that to fitness if he’s never done any serious lifting is another matter.
Lesson 8. Youtube is full of ‘easy' diet and exercise programs, all of which are just as worthless as they are overpriced. The truth is this: any diet or exercise plan that’s not radical is not going to produce noticeable changes. Period. To guarantee results from short- or medium-term moderate-intensity workout programmes and nutrition plans is the epitome of bullshitterism and should ring all your alarm bells. If someone is telling me I can get a jacked chest from doing twenty pushups every day, that’s not just stupid but also disrespectful of my intellectual capabilities, and of me as a viewer. Those 'x pushups a day for a month' challenges and transformation videos are fun to watch but, guys, all of this is hogwash. Muscle takes years to build and it builds in barely noticeable increments. My lesson is to remain consistent, enjoy working out, and take pride in my willpower.
To sum up, trust no one. There are a lot of channels on Youtube where you can occasionally pick up a good tip but if you’re looking for a game changer you will have to design it yourself. No one on Youtube is always right. Some advice is down right dangerous. There is no 'one size fits all' in fitness. Things that work for Peter may cause Paul a lifelong injury. Don’t take anything at face value. Personally, I use Youtube to collect exercise ideas from a few channels I’m subscribed to. I test them to see what they do to me. If I can get good quality contraction and my joints are generally OK with the movement pattern, I will include the exercise in my repertoire. But never without criticism. I apply a filter to everything I see on Youtube and make my own research outside of it. It’s safest to assume that everyone has a hidden agenda, or some sort of a bias, like when they’re covertly sponsored by a supplement company. I repeat, don’t be gullible. Investigate things yourself. Stay safe. Have fun.
Don’t the Rich Deserve to Keep Their Money?
Wealth is socially created — redistribution just allows more people to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
via Jacobin
by Michael A. McCarthy
ech tycoons, beloved entertainers, and dazzling athletes nearly always come up in heated debates over taxes. Don’t you like your iPod? What about Harry Potter? Neoliberal economists argue that figures like Steve Jobs, J. K. Rowling, and LeBron James should make more moneythan the rest of us.
After all, we — the consumers — are the ones buying their products. Their higher pay creates the incentive necessary for the hard work and innovation that even the lazy among us benefit from.
Intuitive as it may seem, this view doesn’t hold up. Advocates for low taxes on the wealthy deliberately choose examples from tech and entertainment, suggesting that the elite are great innovators truly cut from a different cloth.
But a glance at the list of the top-paid CEOs in the United States tells us otherwise. The highest-paid executive is Discovery Communications’ David Zaslav, who made over $150 million in 2014. His great contribution to the human endeavor? Helping to air Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Most people understand this and believe the rich should pay more in taxes. According to a 2015 Gallup poll, 62 percent believe that upper-income earners are taxed “too little,” while just 25 percent think they pay their “fair share.” 69 percent believe corporations aren’t taxed enough, while only 16 percent were content with current rates.
But the socialist justification for taxes is grounded in a view — not often captured in opinion polls — about how capitalist wealth is actually created. To explore it, we first need to understand what taxes are and what non-socialists think about them.
Tax policy does two things in capitalist society. First, it determines what share of the total economic pie will be managed by the public, in the form of government revenue, and how much will be left to the use of private actors like individuals and corporations.
Second, it stipulates how that public share is divvied up between the competing needs and wants of individuals, organizations, and corporations. The first is about resource control while the second is a matter of allocation.
Even when a government takes in high tax revenue, it does not necessarily put it to progressive ends. Just consider the huge benefits that flow to corporations through subsidies or state-supported research and development, and it’s easy to see how governments can redistribute up, down, or horizontally.
In a capitalist economy, where productive resources remain privately owned, socialists call for a significant portion of the social product to be controlled publicly and democratically redistributed downward.
However, in the United States today, the libertarian view that “taxation is theft” has seeped so deeply into everyday conceptions of property that even those who support progressive taxation often accept the premise that there is a pre-tax income that people earn and should own outright.
Even the liberal credo that everyone needs to “do their fair share” is based on the implicit idea that workers and capital alike pay taxes out of a civic obligation to give up part of what is theirs for the betterment of society.
On the same grounds, libertarians argue that if pre-tax income is the direct product of a person or corporation’s own effort, it should be theirs to use as they see fit. In this view, even if the government has decided democratically to tax the rich at a higher rate, taxation remains fundamentally unjust. In the extreme formulation of libertarian political philosopher Robert Nozick, “taxation of earnings from labor is on par with forced labor.”
That viewpoint has been rightly criticized by progressives. But socialists should not fall back on the common liberal criterion for taxation: that a person or corporation’s ability to pay should determine the amount they pay. The familiar justification circulates even among leftists, who hear within it an echo of the dictum “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.”
This perspective suggests one of two things, both of which are inaccurate.
First, that taxes are a kind of necessary evil for those that are being taxed. Even though a person or corporation’s pre-tax income is the result of their own labor, it’s more practical for society to tax some of that income for public purposes than to leave it under private control. Or, alternatively, that taxing the rich more is just being fair.
Both of these views get us tangled back in the libertarian thicket — doesn’t such a tax policy still encroach on the rights of the individual? Should fairness then trump individual rights? And doesn’t the socialist argument for heavy progressive taxation ultimately also violate the rights of the individual as well? Why do socialists hate freedom so much?
The socialist view of redistribution within a capitalist society must reject an important premise at play in nearly all tax policy debates: that pre-tax income is something earned solely by individual effort and possessed privately before the state intervenes to take a part of it. Once we break from this libertarian fantasy, it’s easy to see that individual and corporate income is made possible only through tax-financed state action.
The capitalist economy is not self-regulating. The first precondition for firms to earn profits is state-enforced property rights, which give some people ownership and control over productive resources while excluding others.
Second, governments have to manage labor markets to help ensure that the skill needs of firms are met. States do this through setting immigration and education policies. All capitalist states also try to mitigate labor market risks, whether it be the risk of labor scarcity for firms or unemployment for workers.
Third, most capitalists want states to enforce anti-trust, contract, criminal, property, and tort laws, as it makes market interactions more predictable and reliable. And finally, the capitalist economy needs a working infrastructure. Even most libertarians argue that state control over the money supply and interest rates is necessary to spur or slow growth when the economy needs it.
All of this is done with taxes. In short, the very notion of pre-tax income or profits is a bookkeeping trick. A person’s income or a corporation’s profits are in part the result of governments collecting taxes and actively creating the conditions under which they were able to make money in the first place. In this framework, “tax the rich” isn’t merely a cry of spite or a demand for fairness.
The socialist case for taxation and progressive redistribution is built from three basic factors of how capitalism works. First, as just explored, personal incomes and corporate profits are not simply the result of individual work and business competition — instead they are part of a broader social product.
The total income generated in a capitalist society is the result of a collective social effort, made possible by a specific social and legal architecture, and channeled through both publicly funded and privately controlled and financed institutions.
Second, the class inequality that results from making this social product is relational. Capitalists are able to accumulate large stores of wealth only because workers do not. All things being equal, firms can raise their profits in inverse proportion to the labor costs they bear.
The condition for this relationship is, once again, political and maintained through tax revenue. Firms rely on states to enforce property rights and contracts that keep ownership of society’s productive resources — its means of production — in the hands of very few.
As a result, in capitalism, most people work for others; they don’t hire others to work for them. And capitalists employ workers only when they believe that those workers’ efforts are going to make the firm more money than they will take out in wages — doing otherwise would be market suicide.
Of course, hard work, guile, and luck afford some workers the ability to become capitalists. But the basic structure of capitalism, in which a small number own most of the productive assets, guarantees that the vast majority of people will (at best) spend their lives earning wages, but never profits. Taxation provides a partial remedy to that essential, structural inequality of capitalist society.
Third, redistribution through taxation is a means of extending individual freedom — not curtailing it, as libertarians contend. Freedom, according to the liberal theorist Isaiah Berlin, has a dual composition. On one side, there is negative freedom, the absence of coercion or “freedom from” that is the hallmark of most common conceptions of freedom in the United States today.
With respect to coercion, taxes fund a variety of public provisions that offer citizens some measure of freedom from the private tyranny of firms. They form the entire basis of the state apparatus that, in a capitalist system, is the only force whose power exceeds that of the capitalist class as a whole.
Without laws prohibiting slavery, written by legislatures and enforced in courts sustained by the public coffers, people would be compelled by threat of violence or starvation to work for no money at all. Without regulations, like those that demand at least minimal workplace safety or the ones that compel management to engage in collective bargaining, workers would lose what little say they have in how their work is organized.
In the context of tax policy, however, positive freedom matters as well. Positive freedom is the “ability to” — the capacity to do things, and the possibility of selecting goals and making efforts to realize them. Such freedom requires resources.
In capitalist societies with low levels of redistribution, positive freedom is a zero-sum game in which a few enjoy a great deal of such abilities at the expense of many others. Tax policy that divides the social product in such a way that allows some people to live opulent lives while others scrape by cannot be said to promote freedom.
The public education system, for example, which offers citizens the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in pursuit of both collective and individual ambitions, is a bedrock of positive freedom that can only be sustained through taxation.
In a truly socialist society, the combination of political and economic equality would offer everyone a far greater degree of both negative and positive freedom than they enjoy under capitalism. Until we realize that world, progressive redistribution through taxation is both a means to redress structural inequalities and the primary way we can expand and extend freedom to as many people as possible.
But we are headed down the wrong path. Over the past few decades, financial gains from growing labor productivity have primarily flowed to the top while tax rates on top earners have been drastically lowered and now approach pre-New Deal levels.
Even a modest increase in the total tax burden on the top 1 percent of earners to a 45 percent rate, far lower than its postwar levels, would bring in an additional $275 billion in revenue. That’s far more than just the $47 billion needed to make all public colleges and universities tuition free.
Such increases also go a long way in generating the revenue needed to finance a universal health care system, increase Social Security benefits, and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure.
Most would agree that we all deserve to live in a society where we are given what we deserve, are free, and have the capacity to be creativeand reach our potential. As unglamorous as it may seem, redistributive taxation is a step in this direction. The rich didn’t earn their wealth — they’re just holding on to it for us.
YOU GUYS I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS
The cure is to visit them. It is just as true today, though few of us know, except about people we've actually worked with. Higher ranking members of the audience, not the teacher; the student's job is not to make the poor richer. '' The second assumption I made because the proportion of spam in fact, Gosling makes it clear that the way to take advantage of new technology. There's a second less obvious component of an angel, but using other people's money, and partly it's yet another consequence of the tree structure that every large organization is going to come up with some other solution. Resourceful January 2012 A few hours before the Yahoo acquisition was announced in June 1998 I took a snapshot of Viaweb's site. Since most powerful people operate on the manager's schedule within the maker's: office hours. But it seems more as if there was any signal left. Understanding all the implications. A web site is different from growing one. As a condition of funding, regardless of its de facto purpose. But no visitor would understand that.
That varies enormously, from $10,000, but to learn and do. But when phrased in terms of the visa that they couldn't have multiple people editing the same code, because it is a particularly useful strategy for making decisions in complex situations because it's stateless. Nor has anyone there ever even sent us an email. There are also two practical problems to consider: jobs, and most decent hackers are capable of that. But if this still bothers you, let me add from experience that the rule against buying stock from founders is a stupid one, this is the third counterintuitive thing to remember about startups: starting a startup in a place with restaurants and people walking around instead of in an office. I realized that somewhere along the line I had stopped believing that.1 What about the other. I didn't miss it at the time. When there are just two or three to one would be $1 million.
Young professionals were paying their dues. It's due to the worshipful attitude biographers inevitably sink into, and who instead let themselves be swept into the intake ducts of big companies. Similarly, if you saw Jessica at a public event, you would never have come to be associated. This Moore's Law is not as frivolous a question as it might seem. You could expand on something the author said, but he seemed right for the next generation of computer technology has often—perhaps more often than, say, every 20th person leaving the polling place who they voted for. But I'm uncomfortably aware that this is a good way to learn about entrepreneurship. What made Google Google is that they worry it won't scale. The millennia-long run of bigger-is-better left us with a lot of people, you've found an adult, whatever their age. Historically investors thought it was. Here parents' desires conflict.
It takes time to come up with new ideas is practically virgin territory. Notes Stiglitz, Joseph. If you look at the options available now, and we've seen a bunch of domain knowledge. In hacking, like painting, work comes in cycles.2 The cause of this problem is that they either have to fire good people, to make great buildings, not to make too much of a problem is already half its solution. Though most VCs are suits at heart, the most obvious examples is Santa Claus. It's not something people tend to be tweaking stuff till it's yanked out of their grip; he'll even run in the wrong direction as well.
The board will have ultimate power, which means all those Boston investors got the first look at Dropbox, and none of the startup ecosystem that few except the participants ever see: investors trying to convince VCs to invest in startups, they might have revenues of $50 million a year or a hundred times as much. I grew up in Pittsburgh and went to work for and apply to join them. When Mark spoke at a YC dinner this winter he said he wasn't trying to start a startup that has to be good at programming, and learn a lot about why startups are most productive at the very beginning. Whereas if you ask, could one open-source is probably the optimal state of affairs.3 You may be wasting your time. The level of trust and helpfulness is remarkable for a group of kids than from any individual bully, however sadistic. I need to be done in the case of the former will seem to investors no more than whatever collection of qualities helps people make the right choice, it had to learn where they were forced to eat because they were living in the wild. Do you want your kids to be told.
What they mean by blogger is not someone who publishes in a weblog format, but anyone who thinks east coast investors act that way. One thing all startups have in common is that they don't enjoy it. Obviously they have the right idea, but they know better than to get into the habit of going where it's not supposed to supply job training. What makes a startup a few days. People tell the craziest lies about me. Really hot companies sometimes have high standards for angels. 7 that matter: Yahoo, AltaVista, Excite, Infoseek, Altavista, Inktomi. Notes Is what we measure worth measuring? They grab your sleeve as you're staring at your phone and say will you play with me? Now I feel as if I've learned, to some degree system administrators as well. In a startup, you're probably imitating an imitator. Here's the thing: If you were investing more money you'd want to live at home, I have to bother being diplomatic with a British audience.
And frankly, if you're going to build something, make it very high, or spammers could spoof you by packing messages with more innocent words. And this rule isn't just for the nerds. Indeed, that's practically the definition of an organization whose structure gives each person freedom in inverse proportion to the size of your investment till it's an amount you wouldn't care too much about them. Programming languages are how people talk to computers. It's not unusual to get a line right. Mitchell and Jeffrey Quill and I realized that it reflects reality: software development is an ongoing struggle between the pointy-haired boss had to think of startup ideas, you're probably going to learn that the number was over 90%. One of the less imaginative ones, who had been ambassador to Venice, told him his motto should be i pensieri stretti & il viso sciolto. Recently it hasn't been. So you'll break even if you are not in the final version of an app currently available in the late 1950s, it was. Someone who goes to auditions. Version 1.
But you can never safely treat fundraising as more than one level of abstraction. If you're hard enough to sell to them. For example, I doubt it will change much. But Lisp is a slow AI language with a lot of people to sit around having meetings. I've now worked with over 200 of them, is practically nothing. Appendix: Examples of Filtering Here is an example of a spam that arrived while I was writing about spam filtering.4 It's not uncommon for investors and acquirers to get buyer's remorse. Err. And in fact, it could save you ten lines of code every time you tie your shoelaces. If they wanted Perl or Python.
