In truth, he had gone to the university for a different reason. He knew a lot of the Jedi were here, and he had wanted to talk to a few he did now know. It was odd, seeing them all older, knowing this was the age they had been cut down in. All of that was still so confusing about what had happened and why. It was cruel.
He'd been about to head home when he felt something. A signature he hadn't quite been brave enough to look for, knowing it would hurt if it wasn't there. It had been one of the few he had wanted to feel, but everything had been so overwhelming with news recently, if he hadn't felt it that might have been too much.
Without thinking, he followed it, until he found a classroom. He didn't need to look, he recognised the voice of the professor too well. So instead he planned to just wait at the back, not really wanting an audience of students to witness this.

"If it was possible to save them all, the Dark Side would never have existed" a sad reality really, but he knew it to be true. Somewhere, a long time ago, someone had given into those feelings, back before they had known what that would mean. "Knowing the emotions is one thing, it's learning how to live with them without acting. I suppose in some ways I was lucky, I never did have to learn that with anything. Well least nothing as deep as I know some went through" and some because of his death. Far as he knew, that hadn't led anyone to Darkness.
"The start was worth it in my opinion." Jaina was only still a beacon of light because of that training. Because of the choice her Master and Uncle laid out of her, "Giving so much power to a single emotion, it was too isolating. I felt comfortable speaking out about my anger and it helped me stay on the side of the light." She placed her hands in her pockets, "I think removing the shame and hesitation, helped several young Jedi even if we couldn't save them all." Her mind went right to her brothers and her twin's apprentice. The darkness that was destined to run through their bloodline. A darkness she hoped to break for the next generation.

That feeling again. The Force seemed just as strong on this planet as any other he had been to. Only here, there was no Jedi temple, well actually there was just no Jedi. Other then him, as far as he knew. Perhaps not such a bad thing, he was sure the council could have endless debates about this place, and sometimes it would just be nice not to have to deal with them. Actually especially in a place like this, where he could feel the Force guiding him towards people who were sensitive to it. The girl the other day, now this man. "Excuse me, you haven't seen a wallet around here have you? I dropped it and can't seem to find it" actually it was still safe in his jacket, but it meant he could observe for a moment.

no matter what, you can always count on me. (Dorian to Qui-Gon)
Tumblr media
"Was there ever any doubt?" he asked, not that he had ever doubted it. Though he supposed this might have given rise to the concern. Not intentionally, but he had been focused on finding the people he had lost before. They were his family, but his family here was just as real. He needed to make sure he didn't lose that. "You can count on me as well. Is everything ok?"

"It is. But it can also be misunderstood when we look back on it" that was something worrying to think about. All the good the Jedi had done, which now might be lost forever because of the reputation changing. And now here they were alive, having to deal with the fallout.
"Palpatine... the Naboo senator?" he remembered him, though he hadn't seemed like a threat. That would have been the whole point though, and he wondered exactly what it was he had missed. There was no guarantee if he had been there he would have picked up on anything, but all this sounded like the Jedi had been manipulated. "Why wouldn't you deserve it?"

“hmm…history is told by the winners, i guess.” luke had probably told him at some point or another that the jedi were held accountable, but after everything, ben started to doubt it the truth in that.
“palpentine, the man behind the fall of the jedi. pretended to be the chancellor, pulled all the strings so that everything could fall perfectly in place for him to seize total control.” ben explained as simply as he could. “better than i found it…” ben laughed. he had done so much wrong in his life, it was hard to think that the one good thing he had done had left the world better…but it had. “i’ve never thought about it that way. it’s a comforting thought i don’t deserve.”

I am TWENTY MINUTES into The Phantom Menace and I am in absolute tears, Qui-Gon Jinn is the funniest person in this entire franchise, he basically doesn’t sense shit about anything hinky on this mission and doesn’t care, he calls the Federation types all a bunch of cowards, he calls Jar Jar Binks brainless and says the ability to speak doesn’t make you intelligent, that man cannot stand that Gungan from the word go, and he is the one who starts bullying Jar Jar to get him to reveal where the Gungan city is, Obi-Wan joining in with the shit your pants level terrifying things that are coming for them that they do to this Gungan, like they are seamless, they have clearly done this before, Qui-Gon has very obviously bullied people and gotten his Padawan to tag-team them with him, then they go to Otoh Gunga and Qui-Gon busts out the Jedi Mind Trick which is reasonable the first time, but then he pauses for a moment, clearly considering, and then is like, well, how about a transport, too? and his delivery on the line had me weeping with laughter because his voice goes up at the end like, oh, well, as long as we’re here....? because he just realized oh he absolutely can fleece these idiots blind, this man has no morals so far, he only brings Jar Jar along with them instead of leaving him to be executed because Jar Jar will be useful, then there’s the trip through the core of the planet where he sits in the back because hell no he’s not sitting next to Jar Jar and he deadass does not engage in any of the conversation in asking more about what happened with Jar Jar, he leaves that entirely up to Obi-Wan, and then Qui-Gon Jinn does not give a single solitary fuck when the Goober fish is eaten, he’s just like, yeah, same shit different day, meanwhile Obi-Wan is in the driver’s seat staring into the middle distance for like a solid five seconds that feels like ten goddamned minutes while he’s questioning every single life choice he has ever made, then Jar Jar keeps freaking out and Qui-Gon uses the Force to calm him and he borderline passes out because that man wanted that Gungan to shut the fuck up and even Obi-Wan is like, “You overdid it”, and I AM ONLY TWENTY MINUTES INTO THIS MOVIE, I AM CRYING, QUI-GON JINN IS THE FUNNIEST PERSON IN THE MOVIES.

It was a feeling he got everytime he went past the mechanics. The Force was strong there, like there was many there who were sensitive to it. Well, there was little else to do here, he might as well investigate, pretty easy to do when his car was more rust than car. It was obviously the woman inside, not someone he recognised, but then with this town, it didn't surprise him. "Excuse me, I was hoping for some help, my car is... well probably better on the scrap heap to be honest".

With everything that was going on, when he heard someone sounding like they were in distress, he was worried. Least until he heard what the distress was about. That seemed a very trivial thing to be worried about, although he knew that different people had different priorities. A few bruises didn't seem to be that bad.
"What makes you say that?" he asked, wondering what the long term consequences would be. He hadn't heard of any species were bruises didn't fade. "They usually don't last too long".

.。.:*☆ “Oh my god, look at my face….” Howl looked like he was close to tears, and it was not because of the pain. And also not because he was a coward, who had decided to run when not being able to talk himself out of the situation like usually. Because the wizard had not been in the mood to fight. Not with a group of clearly drunk men, anyway. And this.... well, this was the result of it.
Tumblr media
“I ran into... something earlier, and, mean….. look at me! My face is all bruised….. I am never going to look beautiful again, I just can feel it.” This surely confirmed that Howl was a dramaqueen. And more than just a little vain, as well.

The fact that the words “the ability to speak does not make you intelligent” came out of Qui-Gon Jinn’s mouth and yet he STILL gets accused of being the Perfect Jedi Who Was the Only One To Have Compassion Figured Out. No! He said that, to a sentient being, because he was annoyed! He’s a bitch! I love him so much! That man is a complete bastard, because you better bet Obi-Wan ‘oh, you’re doing fine, she seems to like you’ Kenobi learned it from somewhere. You people would crucify Luminara, Mace, Yoda, Ki-Adi, Jocasta or any other random Jedi for a comment like that, can you even imagine?? But Qui-Gon gets a pass because what, he half achieved Enlightenment and he liked to stick it up to the Council? He liked to stick it to everyone. He trolled royalty as a side hobby! (tHe quEEn dOeSn’T neEd tO KnOw).
Let the man be the magnificent bastard that he is. He’s disrespectful, he can be impatient, he can’t stand fools, has no time for anyone’s shit, and I love the kriff out of him for inspiring and encouraging Obi-Wan’s sass.

The Force worked in mysterious ways, that had always been something he'd believed in, though this truly was unexpected. Least now with his memories returned to him he could remember how to use the Force. There was a strange sense of relief about that. There was also something else, the Force was in all living things, and there was a few signatures he recognised. Though he also knew if he knew, they'd realise soon enough as well.
So it had been he had got up early to mediate when he heard footsteps. He hardly needed to use the Force to know his Padawan. "Well, took you long enough" he commented, not bothering yet to open his eyes.

What is your favorite line?
“The ability to speak does not make you intelligent.” — Qui-Gon Jinn, The Phantom Menace (it gets me every time)
If you could stop one character from doing something, who would it be and why?
I'd say stop Anakin from chopping off Mace Windu's hand, but then we probably would've never been introduced to the Inquisitors. I guess I'd stop Eight from attempting to fly away. He could've ran, used the helicopter feature for short distances. He's seriously like the most athletic species ever. Seriously, Eight, what were you thinking??
Saddest death?
Fives, and not because of how he almost ruined Palpatine's plan. I actually loved his character a lot. Seeing him die- seeing him get shot by another clone hurt. He did not deserve to go out that way.
If you could swap places with any character for a day, who would you swap with?
Probably one of the clone captains or commanders, on the day of Order 66. Prevent them from going for their general and hope it doesn't kick in later.
What is your favorite musical theme?
Anakin's Betrayal. It's a painful moment, but it's beautiful music.

"It did. And if the temple fell... the Jedi wouldn't. We give things representation, but at the end of the day, this building is just a building" maybe that was where they had first gone wrong, making the Jedi seem to be something they weren't, a legacy no one was going to be able to uphold. Least he was inside though, anything more seemed like a push. "It's unusual though, to hear someone speak of the Temple like that" with love and... fear seemed the closest word, but he wasn't convinced of that.
Tumblr media
"Just stone that housed an order centuries old that tried to bring peace and balance to the galaxy at large. A building that represents a higher purpose. No matter what it's made of, it's still a symbol." A symbol too many in his family had tried to live up to, and either died for or died trying to destroy. However, Qui-Gon did have a point about the storm, and it was unlikely to get better, so he relented. "Alright, I'll stop for a moment." Jacen stepped up to the building's walls, stopping in the doorway and taking his shelter there. Going any further felt like it would invite trouble.

Some of My Favourite Star Wars Quotes and Why - A Series
“The ability to speak does not make you intelligent.” - Qui-Gon Jinn, The Phantom Menace.
Something I quote daily, it also serves as a friendly reminder to the toxic fans and people who bash Star Wars.
