thinking about an alternate universe where the Snow family is happy (where Coriolanus isn't awful, Crassus is just a distant/an emotionally distant and reserved father, Mrs Snow survived giving birth to the baby girl and the baby girl made it) (this is literally just happy, good Snow family headcanons in this alternate universe)

first, what would the baby girl's name be? (which, WHAT IS MRS SNOW FIRST NAME!?!? SUZANNE. I KNOW WHY YOU DON'T TELL US BUT STILL. I WANNA KNOW. PLEASE, I LOVE HER. I DESERVE TO KNOW MY GIRL) I like to think it'd be another Shakespeare related name, something sweet like Juliet or Cordelia (I literally adore those names but that's off topic)

Coriolanus as a sweet older brother? adorable. Protective over her (maybe because of Crassus' order), helping her with homework, holding her hand during public appearances, sussing out her future partners, giving her advice. You know those introduction kind of expedition days you have to high school the year before attending? like you're in year 6/8th grade (depending on where you live and whatever) and one day in the year, your school takes you to the local high school to get you situated and exposed to it so it isn't such a shock next year? I know some places give you an attending student buddy for the day, like a senior or such to tour you around and or to follow throughout the day, imagine Coriolanus with his sister during that. He'd specifically request to be his sister's buddy and coddle her the whole day.

Mrs Snow would have cut the kids hair growing up because even though Crassus insisted she took them to a salon, Coriolanus only liked how his mum did it (because she'd be so cautious and considerate of how awful it was for him) and [the daughter's name] just liked being pampered by her mother. Which led to Mrs Snow doing her daughter's hair, even when she grew up. Like a 20 year old [the daughter's name] coming home to get her hair done. With her fragrant perfume, she'd hug her children and leave her perfume lingering on them so people thought it's her daughter's own perfume that she put on, and people teased Coriolanus for it. She would absolutely take Tigris in like she's one of her own, like that's her second daughter. I can't get over how lovely the image of her twirling around in pretty gowns, humming along to her songs, singing in the loving manner her children found enchanting, and Coriolanus joining her in a dance around the house.

Crassus sitting at the head of the table, cutting through steak as he asks Coriolanus over dinner about the Academy, the men bonding over their hatred for Highbottom (but Crassus would never tell him the reason). Crassus treating his daughter like Panem's princess yet also calling Mrs Snow out for spoiling them because "he didn't want them to be brats." Crassus giving Coriolanus 'the talk' in the most bland and blunt way. Boys being too intimidated by Crassus to pursue [the daughter's name].

[the daughter's name] character has so much potential!! I just know her and Tigris were sister, by blood or not, that's their sister.

Coriolanus and [the daughter's name] were proud military brats. No matter their age, they'd go round and round like immature children again. Coriolanus looked like their father with their mother's hair type (the curls), [the daughter's name] looked like their mother with their father's hair type. Both were bookworms. As much as they could be each other's biggest annoyance, they'd die for each other. like [the daughter's name] would be protective over her older brother and Coriolanus would just find it cute, thinking, whether true or not, "she can't hurt a fly but I appreciate the sentiment."

I don't know why I've thought so much about this concept, I may have to write something about it, idk, anyway!

there’s something so special to me about the casual intimacy (both physical and emotional) of the stark family. robb carrying bran to his horse. bran holding robb’s hand to comfort him. jon ruffling arya’s hair and pushing her around and her laughing and pushing him right back. ned hugging sansa and arya in front of the entire king’s court. they’re always thinking about each other and missing each other. the kids cry and fight and play and are kids, and ned and catelyn are kind to one another, and it’s beautiful. it’s so warm, so human, in contrast with the coldness of other familial relationships in the book.

one egregious thing the game of thrones show misses out on is that the stark kids are CONSTANTLY thinking abt each other!! there isn’t like a single POV chapter from any of them where they don’t long for their siblings!! Jon wants to have a son and name him Robb!! Bran wants to be a bird so him and his siblings can live in a nest together!! Sansa prays for her siblings every night and makes the Winterfell castle and then gets upset bc there’s no one to throw snow at!! Needle IS Jon!! Arya’s list is her own prayer for her siblings, she doesn’t care that Joffrey is dead bc Robb is too!! Every single one of them believes that their big brother will come to save them!! there’s sm love and tenderness there and GOT missed out on lots of it bc it tries too hard for the grimdark angle without realising that the center of the stark’s story is their love for each other. anyways.
