dream apologists who make george the bad person in their relationship piss me off BAD. you can be a dream apologist and still admit he's not a perfect person. dream is a bad friend and controlling. he's a bitch during dethronement and he's a bitch after. george did absolutely nothing against him ever. even at the end she's loyal to him. stop trying to twist their relationship to make dream a victim in everything it's ANNOYING.

just watching dethronement you can see dream actively belittle and mock george. he calls her a baby for crying/being upset, gets offended when sapnap asks her for her opinion, refuses to acknowledge how she feels, and speaks over her and yet all george has ever done to that mf is stand up for herself. he even liesss about why he crowned her and why she was dethroned saying she "had no right to the crown" and "only got it because she was neutral building a house and not participating in the war" EVEN THOUGH HE CROWNED HER BEFORE SHE STARTED BUILDING ANDDD ASKED HER TO HELP PROTECT SCHLATT RIGHT AFTER. and and and had a clear line of succession in place because he tells george not to get hurt because "sapnap is the next in line" anddddd he changes his fucking reasoning for dethroning her 40 times but whateverrrrr. and he sends punz to kill her before chasing her down himself despite his "i don't want you to get hurt george 🙁" BULLSHIT

AND SHE'S STILL IN LOVE WITH HIM AFTER EVERYTHING. she stands outside that prison for him, tries to break him out, hallucinates his voice, dreams about him constantly, etc. in the dream where george meets him outside the prison you know what george yells at him for? why she's angry? BECAUSE DREAM WAS GONE FOR SO LONG AND SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHY. and then even though dream is threatening the ONE thing she has left (kinoko) george is still unable to tell dream that she doesn't want to be on his side BECAUSE THAT'S ALL SHE WANTS. she doesn't even know what he fucking did but she still can't see fault in him until he literally kills her. he has to kill her to recieve any of the hate he deserves. that isn't even the first fucking time george has seen dream as good without knowing why he's doing anything. she defended the lmanberg war during the debates despite not even knowing why the fuck they happened because she trusts dream. and everytime she questions anything she's seen as fucking evil like when she was confused by the walls around lmanberg but she STILL let dream run that shit and let him do and say what he needed to just to get what HE wanted.

roleswap!dream being the admin of the server and being so connected to it in every way and how much he loves nature and especially flowers, rs!dream who uses his admin powers to gift rs!george bouquets of flowers all the time, rs!dream who's heartbroken after rs!george denies their relationship the day of the dethronement and turns his back against him, rs!dream running away from the castle and hiding in a flower field all alone while he cries, who wakes up with a weird feeling on his throat and he starts coughing and spitting blue petals and he's scared and his clothes are a mess but he doesn't care. and as time progresses it gets worse and he realizes he's coughing up cornflowers and it all leads back to rs!george and his chest hurts and dream himself is slowly wilting away like he's a flower, stuck in his bed his dreams about georgeeeHD being a small comfort and the flowers growing all around his body have thorns and they start growing from his body and he should do something but he's just so tired. he doesn't even know about rs!george in prison until he wakes up with a gasp and the next flower that comes out of his mouth is a bloody dead rose and that same day sapnap visits him to tell him the news.

rs!george escaping pandora and after weeks of healing enough to leave techno's home, goes to hana kingdom where every beautiful building is overrun by plants and flowers but everything feels wrong and his own connection with the server pulling him towards what he feels is dream's house, the building completely covered in beautiful flowers except it's the only building where there are dead flowers, which worries george as he goes in without caring if anyone else saw him.

rs!george finding a rs!dream sleeping in an uncomfortable position as parts of his body are completely hidden behind flowers, and the whole house is dark except for a small hole in the ceiling which showers dream in natural lighting and he's so beautiful... george feels guilty about everything and slowly picks up dream's head and kisses his forehead, crying and whispering apologies and "i love you, i always did..."

Why c!Dream should (and probably will be) redeemed

Hi! I’m bad with intros. You’ve read the title, so, let’s start with the definitions.

In this essay, we are considering the popularized definition of “redemption” instead of the classical one, which is, as per the Oxford Dictionary, “the act of saving or state of being saved from the power of evil; the act of redeeming.” That’s not however the way the word is used in fandom and media.

The definition of redemption I’ll be working with in this essay is not forgiveness by the people who c!Dream has hurt, nor is it removing himself entirely from his past actions, but moreso the decision to change for the better and abandon destructive mindsets for himself and others.

A “redemption” in a narrative sense would be circumstances and a character arc that would allow that kind of healing and betterment.

I’d like to start this off by the fact that being “irredeemable”, in this sense, also doesn’t exist; redemption is a thing of conditions and choice, not of being allowed by someone else. You can’t gatekeep healing from people who seek it, just to be clear, and that even goes for people who have done terrible things.

Since I understand there is a lot of concern for c!Dream’s past actions, here is a post from people who are much more fit than me to speak on the matter, about the way in which they see a possible c!Dream redemption arc.

Another disclaimer, I am not going to be considering c!Dream only from the perspective of c!Tommy in this essay. c!Dream appears in other people’s perspectives and he himself has his own, unseen perspective. As a character, he is an individual person in his own right rather than just the antagonist of c!Tommy’s story, and so I do not have much concern for their narratives intertwining too much should this writing choice occur.

I’d also like to note that redemption is, in this sense, always a positive thing for everyone involved - someone who’s been prone to doing bad things in the past deciding not to do them anymore and try to change, or just simply heal enough to consider it, isn’t going to have a long-term negative effect in any of the characters, but rather the other way around. Healing is an unlimited resource, and the victims do not have to heal first for the person who hurt them to consider being better.

Here’s a well-written thread on Twitter that elaborates a bit to finish off this point, and let’s move on to actually talking about redemption in the context of the Dream SMP, and c!Dream specifically.

Why a c!Dream redemption arc is not only a good writing choice, but in this case the only good writing choice;

c!Dream, as we all know, has been subject to mental and physical abuse to the point of straight up torture by both c!Sam and c!Quackity (to different extents). He has been in indescribable amounts of suffering for the past 74 days at the time this essay will be published. That is six and something times the duration of the entire exile arc in canon.

Whatever the interpretation of his words in prison is, what is undeniable is first of all the fact his mental stability is absolutely crushed at this point, second that no human being could possibly ever deserve to undergo this, and third, his stay in the prison is showing off his humanity and making him out to be sympathetic.

Now, consider this; how would it feel if c!Tommy died at the end of the exile arc? Empty, there would be no catharsis to such an end, especially because of all of the hurt he’d gone through. Objectively, a bad writing choice.

Let’s compare, narratively of course, this situation to the prison arc. Even though I would never say one of them is “better” or “worse” than the other, since both are terrible and undeserved, c!Dream’s current state checks off all of the boxes that would make his death unsatisfying in the storyline; even if people want him gone, there would still be the dissatisfaction at the current build-up and why they even did it in the first place (it really wasn’t necessary to anyone else’s story to make him out as a victim, and yet they did) if they were planning to kill him off anyways. And since the prison arc is naturally meant to induce sympathy, even from an angst perspective it would simply not make sense within the themes and writing of the plot.

So, c!Dream can’t die, and he also can’t stay in the prison forever - the build-up must lead to something, which is logically a breakout. Great… what now?

Well, the Dream SMP prides itself in accurate representation of trauma and mental instability, specifically cc!Tommy and cc!Dream who have pulled it off incredibly during the exile arc.

Now, undoubtedly, after the prison, c!Dream is going to be just terribly traumatized- considering the writers’ past creative decisions, would it make sense for him to play the role of a dangerous, heartless villain in other people’s stories, while completely ignoring the logical fallout of what he’s been through?

In my mind, no. The most possible result is that cc!Dream is going to rightfully portray someone who’s been hurt so much he is broken, scared and tortured into submissions over months of agony and slowly stripping away of his agency, his dignity, his humanity. And that is… not going to be pretty, nor is he going to be in any way the same as before.

After everything, I’d be surprised if he can properly look at shears without shaking. That’s not villain behaviour, that’s the behaviour of someone who needs help.

Which leads me to another point, which is relatability. Believe me or not, there are people out there who heavily relate to c!Dream because they have been through things that allow them to see themselves in the character - abandonment, mental illness, etc. - or who have had destructive mindsets they have struggled to let go of in the past.

To them, as well as to the viewer, redeeming c!Dream could actually be a very good example, showcasing that anyone who has done bad things or has been hurt in the past can learn that it is possible to be better, to move on, to not be stuck in a loop but to actively seek help and then use that support to find the path to healing.

Making c!Dream a better person, who in a way, wins over his past, over his trauma, over the hurt he’s caused, and manages to actually get better… is inspiring, in a sense. It shows that you can abandon unhealthy mindsets, you can find a support group of people who care about you, you can make your life better simply by deciding to be better and then sticking to that, no matter how difficult the process.

This is why I believe that redeeming c!Dream would not be bad writing, but quite the opposite, and that the prison arc is an obvious set-up. Alright, but how does that work with the character? How could someone so widely hated mentally improve in such a seemingly violent and terrible environment? Would it even make sense within the context of c!Dream’s character so far? Well,

Why c!Dream has the capacity for healing and the Dream SMP the ability to provide it;

First of all, let’s remind ourselves that through c!Dream’s entire spiral he wasn’t ever directly given a chance to change. He was regarded as someone to defeat in order to accomplish a happy ending, or as someone who needed to be removed in order to achieve power on the SMP. Ever since the 16th, which is when the corruption of the character is the most obvious, there have been no attempts to reach out or to help him. I do not blame the characters for this - I am simply pointing out that since it has never happened before, we do not know how he would respond, and that, after everything he’s been through, any bit of kindness or compassion towards him will be a new concept he will have to learn to deal with somehow.

This point is especially driven home by the fact that both c!Quackity and c!Sam would often tell him he is a monster who deserves nothing but to suffer, and that what he’s going through is never going to amount to all the hurt he’s caused - basically removing any possibility for ever getting better (because by this logic, he doesn’t deserve support, and he doesn’t deserve to get better) from his line of sight.

He also hasn’t had a support system since shortly after the 16th, when his friends left him over c!George’s dethronement and made no effort to mend their relationship afterwards. c!Dream isn’t used to having allies and people on his side, but to being hated; again, wouldn’t that mean positive reinforcement could very well be all he needs to make the choice?

His bad mindsets - attachments are weakness, ends always justify the means, people will consider you a bad person no matter what you do - have been continuously proven right by his environment, even in prison. Any kind of subversion, plus an explanation as to why they are wrong, could be of great help to c!Dream.

Just another disclaimer; I do not believe c!Dream would change thanks to the treatment in prison, but rather despite it. His mental stability is non-existent at that point, and in order to get better he needs genuine emotional support from the people around him as well as to heal before he can redeem himself.

Alright, but… c!Dream has hurt a lot of people. Who would be fit to help him?

Let’s start off with the worst option and why it’s impossible the writers would even attempt this; c!Tommy.

c!Tommy has no responsibility to help or ever forgive c!Dream - not to say he could. The two, as it is, would drag each other down instead of helping in any capacity, and only make matters worse. The two of them shouldn’t even interact in the best case scenario - the best thing for both of them would be if they got enough healing and support individually that they could live around each other and not get their trauma or toxic habits triggered when interacting for whatever purpose of the plot.

So, if not c!Tommy (and c!Tubbo neither by extension), who could redeem c!Dream?

Well, he can’t do it on his own for sure. Being in nature with animals is nice, but further isolation from other people would merely help with the prison trauma, not with the state of his tendencies when interacting with others. He, once again, needs positive reinforcement from other people for him to heal properly.

There are two main options for this in my mind, and then there’s a few individuals he could also find comfort in, including people from both groups or those unaligned.

1) Kinoko Kingdom

From the people of this new country, c!Dream has never negatively interacted with c!Karl before, he has never hurt c!George and he hasn’t directly harmed c!Sapnap. Although the relationship with his old friend group could be difficult to rekindle, none of them have grudges against him that are too personal, and they have been canonically close friends since the beginning of the SMP, so it would be very much possible to rebuild burnt bridges. They’d be familiar, and with the addition of c!Karl they could be a good source of comfort for c!Dream after he either breaks out or is released from prison - just gotta convince c!Sapnap not to kill him first.

2) The Syndicate

From the Syndicate, c!Dream has never directly interacted with c!Nikki, and from what I know of her character she never seemed to be very affected by his actions - even doing his work for him when he was planning to burn down the L’Mantree. c!Techno is an ally who doesn’t have anything against him, and as for c!Ranboo, here is why I believe c!Dream being in the Syndicate could be positively influential on his character arc as well;

c!Ranboo and c!Philza have had a conversation about change, during which c!Ranboo made it clear he thinks everyone can change except for c!Dream; who, in his mind, is “too deep down the rabbit hole”. c!Philza replied that he thinks anyone can change if given enough time.

… you see what I’m getting at?

c!Dream has been implied to be an ally to c!Ranboo’s enderwalk state (or the state when he has access to his full memory), and hence would most likely not behave negatively towards him at all. While it might make it more difficult for c!Ranboo to deal with his own issues, it might also give him more motivation to get to the bottom of it as well, especially since he now has access to the person who, presumably, started this all. While this is going on, c!Dream would show himself in a much different light than c!Ranboo sees himin, which could lead to confusion, realization of the flaws in his own logic, and hence, positive character development.

Here’s a great post about why c!Techno as a character could be a great asset in c!Dream’s healing process & redemption, and why there is not much need to worry about him not knowing or finding out about c!Dream’s actions.

Of Kinoko Kingdom and the Syndicate, as far as I know, neither c!Tommy nor c!Tubbo have ever been directly involved with these groups, nor are they planning to.

Another important point to make is that, while c!Tommy needs to be kept away from c!Dream in order to heal properly, the same goes for c!Quackity and c!Sam in c!Dream’s case. While c!Quackity has high chances to interact with either Kinoko Kingdom or the Syndicate in the future, there’s an even higher chance, in that situation, that c!Dream would be offered protection, which is also important; there is no healing from trauma without the knowledge of safety, to some degree.

So, this was an essay as to why I think c!Dream’s recovery and redemption (one needs to come before the other, naturally) is not only extremely possible but also could be pulled off well and have a positive impact on both the characters, and the audience.

Yes, the stream is just absolute shenanigans like any other dsmp stream on the main Georgenotfound twitch now days. But weirdly enough I don't see many people discuss why Quackity, is in most of those dreams?

Maybe because their relationship is a different jar. Look at it, pre-election George grew closer to Quackity than the Dream Team. Dream's spiral heck, even Sapnap and him slightly drifted apart. (mind this is very based I don't watch a lot of Quackity or just the El Rapids arc streams in general)

But I how think is that Quackity and George just has a stronger relation to George and Sapnap since the dethronement fall out. I'm as far to say Quackity was one of last tight bonds George had before falling into his dreamscape madness. I'm not blind to fact El Rapids was also a tight bond, it's that this is specifically Quackity.

So back to that conversation, and let's to say the theory. We know Sapnap also has upcoming lore right?

What if he initiates to bomb Las Navadas?

George finally, really wakes up and meets Karl and Sapnap to catch up. George spills that he met Quackity then tells Sapnap he is working on a country as well, bare in mind that Quackity wanted the details to kept to just "a country with entertainment." And this would be a good play with Karl's deteriorating memory not remembering who Quackity is or really faking that he does. Either way, so they go off to find this country, right?

When they do, Sapnap being his hot-headed, explodes and argues with Quackity that HE left THEM. So on so forth the conversation gets nowhere, huge fall out arc and angst. And Sapnap plots to destroy Las Navadas. Quackity still hurting, had no other choice than to defend his country. The country he made for them.

Maybe this could go along with Sapnap and Karl losing a canon life, Sapnap with his first and Karl his second. Another life lost by Quackity. They could be killed by a Las Nevadan(s). Because of course Quackity couldn't kill his own fiance's.

But George? Quackity somehow saved him last, maybe saving a final goodbye to a friendship, a life they could've had.

Georgenotfound was slain by Quackity.

George Lore

I know Mushroom George came from him building a mushroom house, but what if every time he sleeps, he grows mushrooms on him? He missed Election Night, he missed a lot of Manberg, and he wasn't there for a while after being dethroned and Mexican L'Manberg. Plus, there was that whole lucid dream he had of his parents and Mexican Dream. This probably equates to a lot of mushrooms simply vibing on his head/shoulders.

George's chat is his shoulder mushrooms that lean towards people they like and lean away from people they don't

Thinking of George as a forest sprite with an affinity towards mushrooms who died because of something Dream did and his current reincarnation likes mushrooms because of his past connection to them and Dream is determined not to let him die again

Thinking of fae George and Dream accidentally steps foot in his mushroom circle and tries to steal Dream's name only to realize he has two names (Clay/Dream) and gets mad that he doesn't have his real one; Dream only finds his anger adorable and keeps coming back to keep George guessing what his name is but George never finds out because his forest burns down and Dream mourns haha angst

Also thinking of George as a mushroom and simply reincarnating because mushrooms are metal as fuck like that

Plot relevant George!

After seeing your suggestions, I decided to change something.

By Tommy working for George I meant he was his S to the L to the A to the V to the E. Tommy worked in the castle for a good 3 weeks before George let him go to get information from L’manberg.

While working at the castle, he would be incredibly cruel, and if Tommy dare spoke out of line, George would make him starve for the night. He took all of his things and was just all around cruel to him. It’s just angst and hurt for Tommy there. Tommy was definitely not the same kid from before.

L’manberg tried to rescue Tommy but George’s knights and traps always defeated them, and because George would lock Tommy away in a secret room that not even his closest knight knew about, it was hard to find him. It got to the point they considered having Techno help them, but Tommy was freed before they could call Techno.

Sapnap, after 2 weeks of George’s behavior, left being a knight and join quackity to form El Rapids, which at the time consisted of Quackity, Punz and Eret (im not sure if Karl was a part of El Rapids when they first created it, so just in case) They planned a mission to rescue Tommy, and it was the most successful attempt, but they didn’t rescue Tommy due to not know where the room was.

Dream was in denial during all of Tommy’s abuse. He kept trying to tell himself Tommy deserved it, and this was his punishment. But after he saw Tommy snap at his friends, he realized George went to far and tried to take away his crown, but George exiled him. He became so depressed because he felt responsible for George’s descent to madness.

I just like evil gogy angst.

Oh this hurts. Man this hurts a lot.

We got Tommy who's now traumatized and so very paranoid after the 3 weeks. It was hell for him. Logstedshire was the crippling need for human contact. The Castle is the desperate need to be alone and have privacy.

Even while working at the castle he probably always felt like he's being watched. The feeling didn't go away when he left and the effects of working at the castle didn't either.

Tommy really didn't have a good time.

El Rapids having Eret in it? Perfect. They greatly disagree with George's ways of ruling and while it may be impossible now to get the crown again, he might as well try to dethrone the tyrant on it.

Sapnap joining El Rapids after 2 weeks is perfect. We probably have him arguing with George and trying to get Dream to join him. He then threatens on leaving and they think it's a bluff until Sapnap drops the shield given to him when he became a knight on the ground, burned it, and left.

Dream being depressed that he's responsible for George's descent to madness is great. Angst time for blob man.

We get to see him trying to come up with reasons to justify everything and as time goes on the excuses become more flimsy until Dream watches Tommy pull himself apart because of the time at the castle.

Then we got the exile and that hurts. That hurts a lot. Probably because of how quick George was to decide to exile Dream. That probably hurt him a lot.

Just all the angst from this au. All the angst.

I honestly am so conflicted right now. I believe that [SMP] Dream removing George "for his safety" is a semi-real front, but the weird thing about Dream is that he tends to be outright with his intentions (like telling Tommy that all he cares about are those discs) but not his weaknesses. Why exactly does he care so much about George's safety and not Sapnap or the others? I think Dream is very much manipulating George, but that's not to say that he doesn't genuinely care about him. Dream seemed legitimately surprised at George's anger (he thought he'd step down without question, right?) and inadvertently added fuel to the flame when he tried to calm George down (pro-angst writer Dream pog). But why is he angry that George finally has something to live for? (2/3 srry lmao) ––🎱

Not just the crown– he told George off for the whole Mexican L'Manburg thing but I genuinely think he's jealous of George finding new friends and family who genuinely love him– something Dream’s never truly had on the SMP. I honestly do think the main reason Dream dethroned George was to keep him safe, because Dream’s right. George is in greater danger as king then he was not as king and that’s because people are going after George to get to Dream, because everyone knows that Dream cares a lot for George. And I think he was mostly concerned for George’s safety because George was actually the one on the throne so people would go for George first, not so much Sapnap or Punz, but for George. 

I do think Dream was surprised by George’s sadness/anger for Dream dethroning him and Dream kept saying George was “acting sad” but tbh I think George was actually sad. Maybe more-so shocked and embarrassed that his best friend dethroned him. 

Idk about the jealousy part. During Quack’s stream the other day, Dream joined Mexican L’Manburg and always seemed fine with them creating that nation. I honestly think most of it comes from Dream wanting to protect George, but he just went about it in a bad way.

Idk about you all but my question is, how far has Dream and Tommy planned these storylines out? Tommy's arc is setting up to be a long term one, either he goes crazy, joins Dream, joins Techno...? Whatever it is it could last a while. And the blood vines? The prison? ExCuSE mE Dream, but you have started so many sub plots and handed them over to other people that I can't keep up. I assume they're all going to come together, tho...Yikes. Is Dream overseeing a group writing a book here?

Currently I’m operating under the assumption that the Crimson is purely Bad, Ant and Sam’s plot rn, with Puffy and Sapnap joining in, since none of the L’manburg plot people seem super concerned by it and the two groups don’t interact about the Vines much. So I don’t think Dream’s planned that one? I could be wrong, though, and if they do end up joining into the same plot that’d be really really cool. What the Badlands have been doing so far is a really neat side plot! And a nice break from all the angst of Tommy’s exile. I’m really glad they’ve been getting into making their own plots where they have a chance to shine. They deserve it, dammit!

Considering the fact that George told Dream he didn’t want to be king so that he wouldn’t have to be part of the lore, I think (but don’t know for sure) that the Mexican L’manburg Revolution wasn’t part of the original plan, since Dream wasn’t originally planning on dethroning George. I think Sapnap’s just running with it for his character, though, because the dude’s very into the rp and giving himself great character arcs from initially unplanned conflicts (*cough* Pet Wars *cough*)

Dream and Tommy, on the other hand, was set up on the 16th with Tommy rejecting the presidency to continue the Disc War. Everything about this was foreshadowed with Tommy, Tubbo and Dream listening to the disc together on the bench after. Dream hinted at the arc with Puffy (on her first day iirc?), and Tommy has been griefing people’s houses since Season 2 started so this has definitely been in the works for a while. Idk when they started coming up with the plans though. The Disc Saga was kinda put on hold throughout all of the Election-Dictatorship arc. It hasn’t really had a major development since the Pet War, where Tommy got one of the discs back.

The Prison is Dream’s plot without a doubt, but who knows how it’ll link up with what Tommy’s up to.

Whatever Techno’s planning hasn’t happened yet, I don’t think, since on stream yesterday he was talking about how he wasn’t expecting Tommy to find his house yet. So Techno’s plot will probably start soon? Idk, I’m excited though

Ghostbur and Fundy’s arc is probably a lot less planned out (especially since we know Eret’s adoption plan was brought about by chat) but I’m still holding out for another interaction between them sometime. I just wanna see them happy together ;-; Plus I don’t think Wilbur in general is super filled in on what’s happening with Dream and Tommy? But there’s definitely some sort of background character arc going on with Ghostbur about facing his problems and not running away from them, etc. I’d say that’s probably an arc where things are less planned out long-term, and it’s more loose improv. (Again, could be wrong, I have no idea)

All in all, I’m surprised to say that after writing this out, it’s actually not that many disparate plots right now? It’s a lot to keep up with, yeah, but right now there are two main ones with a few character arcs and side-developments going on around those two main plotlines: the Crimson and Dream’s plot, with some side shenanigans with El Rapids to look out for. Whenever Techno’s arc starts it probably will be more of a main plot to keep up with, but yeah! It’s a lot less chaotic when you start looking at the bigger picture.

(And of course, it goes without saying that this is all my personal speculation and I could be completely wrong about all of this, so take this entire thing with a grain of salt! :D)

George isn’t stupid. He knows what has to be done.

It doesn’t stop him from staring at Sapnap with his jaw clenched tight enough to break and a heavy sort of desperation welling up inside of him. His best friend looks exhausted, dull at the prospect of what they were about to do: or maybe, just at what this server had become, who the other member of their team had become.

It was never supposed to be like this.

“You’re sure you’re doing this?” George asks, heart thrumming in his throat. “You’re actually going to go through with this?”

Sapnap meets his eyes resolutely. “Yeah,” he says, quietly, like he doesn’t want to, “yeah, we have to. Punz says—“ He chokes on his words for a minute. “Punz says it’s going to get bad, George. He says Dream has fallen off the deep end. We have to stop him.”

Dream. George winces at the name, tries to ignore the pain in Sapnap’s voice while talking about him. Dream is... a delicate subject at the best of times, and this is far, far from a best time. “Can you promise me nobody else has to get hurt?” He asks, pretending that by ‘nobody else’ he doesn’t just mean Sapnap, he doesn’t just mean Sapnap and Quackity, because he doesn’t particularly give a shit about anyone else and Karl has been gone for so long and Dream is...

George’s brain freezes, fizzes. Dream is....

“We’ll be careful.” Sapnap studiously avoids the question; George debates on pointing this out, and decides not to. “Dream is— You know he’s dangerous. He’s a good fucking fighter. We’ll be as... careful as we possibly can.”

“You’re talking about him like he’s a wild animal,” George says, something shattering in his chest, because recently, Dream has seemed less human than ever.

Sapnap ignores this too. He’s good at refusing to deal with things that are too vast, too painful. “I just wanted to know if you’d be on board with us. If you’d come and help.” Fidgeting, he turns away from George, pulling out his axe and testing his finger on the edge. “We could use all the manpower we could get. You’re— I mean, you’re a damn good fighter, and you’re— to Dream, you’re—”

“What?” George prompts, suddenly sharp when Sapnap can’t continue. “To Dream, I’m what?”

Sapnap’s shoulders slouched. “You’re... special to Dream,” he says, eventually, “maybe you could convince him to stop.”

George’s throat burns. He thinks maybe once he’d been special to Dream, and he’d cling onto those memories like a lifeline, but this twisted, parody version of Dream doesn’t give two shits about anyone, least of all George. That had been made quite clear after he’d been dethroned and publicly humiliated.

“No,” he says, very deliberately, watching Sapnap’s face crumble, “I don’t think he’ll listen to me, and I don’t want to go.”

He turns away, unable to stand the conversation, the loud silence, the thought of Dream. Maybe he’ll go back to sleep. Maybe if he’s luck he’ll never wake up.

“Stay safe, Sapnap.”

“What do I say if he asks why you’re not there?” Sapnap presses, small, and George wonders how selfish he is for leaving Sapnap to face this by himself.

Except it’s not by himself, not entirely. He’s got Karl. He’s got Quackity. George has... nobody. Dream, in his dreams, in his nightmares. Turning away from his best friend, he closes his eyes, and lets Dream go in his head. He can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be.

“Tell him I slept through it,” he says, and walks away.

Some thoughts on why I don't think it would be a good idea to have Dream being possessed by a dreamon as the excuse for his evil choices in the story.

There's some of my thoughts, after much reconsidering about the subject of dreamons and what it would mean for the story for Dream to be possessed and not in complete control over his actions.

The narrative would shift from the idea that people are the source of all conflict, to dreamons are the source of all conflict, and I'm not sure I like that part. Depending on how it's handled, the conflict on the server would no longer be a power struggle between people seeking power and people seeking freedom, but law and chaos itself. This narrative is fine for fanfiction, I'd read it in a heartbeat because it's a cool story. But I don't think it should be canon, because it's too drastic of a change.

The solution to solving all the problems on the server would just turn into "kill the dreamon" and that's not... That's not the common ground these characters have been learning to come together for. The story is going to lose the moral of "we should put aside our differences to find peace and friendship again because these are the most important things" and become "we should put aside our differences to find peace and friendship because the most important thing is kicking dreamon ass." That's not how this works.

Tommy would no longer be the main character, focus would shift extremely quickly and unexpectedly to Tubbo and Fundy, the most senior dreamon hunters on the server. Tommy's goal of getting back his most prized possessions becomes short-sighted and selfish in comparison to the ultimate goal, because pursuing the discs directly instead of trying to get them back by destroying the dreamon is useless.

Ghostbur's revival means nothing if the main conflict on the server changes from political to supernatural. I can't see anything useful Alivebur Soot could do to move the plot forward. He's more suited for political intrigue.

The Badlands lose meaning and a purpose, too.

If original!Dream is a prisoner in his own body, he becomes sympathetic and tragic. That's dumb. I like hating him, he was the perfect villain with a solid motive, having someone else as the villain for puppeting his body is a cop-out.

Technoblade siding with dreamon!Dream would be so comically, cartoonishly evil that I will punch him (his character) in the teeth for even daring to suggest that he has the moral high ground. But having Technoblade side with everyone else to kick the dreamon's ass would be out of character too.

George being dethroned by dreamon!Dream instead of original!Dream makes the actual scene lose its angst factor by a lot. It's more heartwrenching to be dethroned by a friend than an enemy.

Theory that Quackity being distant and Karl never being around is going to cause Sapnap to either go join his brother Punz and the Eggpire or he's going to go find George, see him at the prison and they're going to see Dream as their final choice.

Yes Dream drifted away from them but in his mind everything he did was to protect them from him and his chaos. They're going to only have eachother and because of George not really having anyone but DreamXD who is Btec Dream and Sapnap being forgotten/abandoned by his fiancé's they're going to see Dream's side.

Basically in Sapnap's eyes he and Dream started arguing and drifted away and that's when Dream truly snapped however Quackity left him and Karl then Karl abandoned him after constantly disappearing for a while.

George literally has everything he could want a safe home and happy environment with friends yet he lingers outside of the prison and dreams of a god that's a carbon copy of Dream.

A summary of George lore: George was gifted the throne by Dream, was killed by Dream's ally, Dethroned by Dream for safety, fell out with Dream, left with Karlnapity who then left him for eachother, was then alone until DreamXD appeared claiming to not be Dream but looking like him and acting like him.

tommy angst

okay, so starting off, we wanted a villain tommy arc, but now we have a sad tommy arc.. i mean, he was even considering taking his last canon death by jumping into lava. the entire time he has been exiled all he’s been thinking about is tubbo and his friends and wanting to be back home in l’manberg. after tubbo exiling him he realized that no one actually wanted him around. he’s even trying to be more independent and is refusing people’s help just because he feels like all of his friends dont want him around. even when ranboo and fundy came to visit him he made them leave early because he “didnt want to waste their time.” 

obviously tommys glad that ghostbur is with him in logsted, but the fact that ghostbur keeps going back to l’manberg and wants tommy to come back with him, upsets tommy even more. also, even though tubbo promised to help tommy find the discs, in the end tubbo said that the discs dont matter and that tommy is too obssessed with them. 

i think that techno said it really well. (i dont know where the actual quote is, so im going to paraphrase.) “imagine giving your life to a country just to be exiled, haha look at this loser.” this is a great quote to represent what’s happening to tommy, because not only is tommy a loser, he also gave his all to a country that he was kicked out of. he fought for it, he was with it since the very beginning, and even when he was exiled the other times, he fought to get his country back and he worked so fucking hard just to be betrayed by his friend.

i personally think that tommy was mostly, (key word mostly), in the right. dream makes his own rules, he does what he wants, says he’s on the side of chaos but when someone calls him out for it he immediately flips sides and says that he’s doing everything for peace in the smp. so when tommy fought back and burned georges house, dream shouldn’t have gone that crazy. but then, at the first sight of a small threat, tubbo kicked tommy out. but, literally right before, dream had dethroned george, giving the throne to eret. obviously, since there was no reason to do that, george was mad and joined the side of, then, mexican l’manberg. so, what is dream even fighting for? chaos, as he said himself.

and with the tubbo is turning into schlatt theory, i would have to agree and disagree. obviously he thinks he doing the right thing, but in reality he is acting just like schlatt. schlatt would lie and exile someone who was his “friend” and not even tell any of his associates. schlatt would encourage the hit list and killing dream, even after dream held up his part of the deal. schlatt would pretend to be on dream’s good side just to go behind his back and plot to kill him.

but, to condradict tubbo turning into schlatt, i think that tubbo just wants to be seen as his own person. hes always been the sidekick, yunno, “tommy’s friend.” he just wanted to be important, in other words, to have power all by himself. tubbo just wanted to be a good president, a good ruler, but instead he ended up losing his best friend. now he kind of has nothing.

Now, I would like to compare tubbo to wilbur, because i miss wilbur, normal wilbur, that is. when wilbur was confronted with death, he stood up for himself. when wilbur’s entire nation was rigged with tnt by dream he still stayed strong to eventually get l’manberg, and freedom in the process. dream says, “give in or die.” now, tubbo faced with this situation would give in, as shown by how he exiled tommy just because dream threatened him.  but, wilbur responded with, “independence, or death. if we get no revolution, then we want nothing. we would rather die, than give into you and join your smp.” wlibur got blown up and lost one of his canon lives. 

tommys lost everything. he lost wilbur, techno, lmanberg, the discs, his friends. to him, he has nothing left. he really feels that he has nothing to live for.

i guess in the end wilbur was right. “tubbo? he’s lying to you man! he would drop you in a second!”

**  this blog will not be following any of the events post episode five, unless plotted otherwise. for the general arch of daenerys in my portrayal however, her ‘end’ was incredibly different. this does not mean to say that i am opposed to exploring narratives where jon attempts to murder her, or where she does turn mad but i will not be explicitly portraying that theme throughout my writing in general plots and threads. this is my canon divergence, the original post which is mostly a rant written after watching the final season can be found HERE but for the sake of my new blog, i thought i would type it properly  !!!  this is likely to be an incredibly long post as i have it in my head that daenerys deserved far better so thank you for sticking through and reading this. its hugely important to me. **  in my head, i truly believe that daenerys was not mad. george r. r martin did not write her to be mad and her storyline will hopefully take another route after the butchering of her narrative in the final season.. she was simply doing what she thought was right and best for the people of westeros in a way where she got her justice and unfortunately, she did lose her way and became wrapped up in what she believed her ideal world to be. we completely saw in her final scene with kit beside the throne that she was still very much human and not insane. she was genuinely a human being, asking him to create a better world with her and … my girl. i would also like to put it out there that i am happy with the ending ( for a handful of the other characters and the justice they received ). i know there were a few loose ends that could have been tied with more time and less rush to crack on with star wars, cough cough d&d. but i think everybody is where they are meant to be. solely talking about jon’s ending but i won’t clog this post  !!! give that like button a  ♡  if you do read this  ––  just so i know for future plotting  !!!

◈     with still writing her, it is clear that in my portrayal that daenerys doesn’t die. whilst daenerys presented jon with a difficult choice to make, she asks him to build the new world with her in a throne room that is still intact and not burned to ashes. this would happen in the scene which he comes to her, only the turn in events does not follow the route of the show. how this does unfold however is dependent on my writing partner ( if writing with somebody who portrays jon ). 

◈     tyrion urges that she invites the great lords and ladies of westeros to the dragon pit so that they do not feel uncomfortable or on edge with seeing her on the iron throne  –––   a woman that they have only ever heard stories of. the idea of bringing them to a place where her dragons were once held as prisoners is a metaphor for the freedom that she wants to instil upon the seven kingdoms. now that the war has been won, they discuss the nights watch and other worldly issues, including northern independence because as somebody who has had everything taken from her, she recognises the loss that the stark family have also faced.

◈     the main reason that she grants the north their independence is because she knows how much eddard stark meant to jon and how the north has been a staple of his childhood and his narrative and she also respects that. she respects everything that he has lost much like her and i think it is important to note that daenerys respects and understands where sansa is coming from. she wanted to take her rightful throne and in the process of obtaining her families kingdom, she wants to give the stark’s what is rightfully theirs too. i would also like to imagine that somebody has brought it to her attention that this man whom she did not know fought for her life against his king and best friend in the earlier storyline when robert orders for her to be killed. 

◈     in episode four, she urges jon not to tell his siblings about his parentage. whilst portraying daenerys and jon romantically, i feel most comfortable writing in a context where jon is not the son of rhaegar. if threads do follow the rhaegar and lyanna storyline, whether a romantic relationship is involved or not, daenerys would still be incredibly concerned about jon telling people of his heritage. not because she believes he would ever dethrone her but more so, because she cares about him and knows that kingship is not something he has ever sought after. there is something within her that worries for the throne too, which is completely okay. daenerys is allowed to have that burning dream in the back of her mind as it is all that she has ever known. 

◈     “ because of everything she has been through, because of everything they have done to her. ”  this is something that she says to jon, in relation to sansa. in my portrayal, daenerys does not feel threatened or anger towards sansa. instead, she actually feels disheartened and she understands it in a strange and peculiar way. she acknowledges that sansa has concerns for a reason, she absolutely understands that sansa has a vision ( similar to her own ) where she wants the best for her people. in my mind, i see a friendship and alliance forming betwen the pair  –––  particularly on daenerys’ behalf as she has not come to westeros to form enemies. theyshare hardships and more importantly, have both blossomed into two powerful women who deserved better. i think they would be perfect together, as the southern and northern rulers.

◈     daenerys’ small council will have been heavily planned with tyrion by her side. in my canon, jorah, rhaegal and missandei are still alive. however, dependent on the threat and plot  –––  if it aids the other person that i am writing with, i am not opposed to exploring the themes and troubles that their deaths may bring daenerys. sharna likes to live a world of angst, hurt and upset so bring me these heartbreaking, gut wrenching plots  !!!  please.

◈     as the queen of the six kingdoms, daenerys would absolutely appoint master of war to jon snow. in her eyes, there is not a single person more deserving of the role given every battle he has faced. she would not expect him to take it because canonically, targaryen or not, she knows that he has and will always be a stark inside. if it pleased him to travel back to the north and live his days back in winterfell with his family, then she would accept this, even if it did hurt her. an alliance between the southern and northern regions of westeros would be incredibly important to her, whether it is jon or sansa ruling as the king / queen in the north. failing this, greyworm would be appointed as the master of war with being the leader of her armies. 

◈     bronn would remain her master of coin at tyrion’s suggestion, though at first daenerys would be sceptical due to him being part of the sack on highgarden. she does not feel comfortable with the idea that bronn was a part of the sack, murdering her allies and then claiming the castle for himself. but in this  ‘ new world ’  she is trying to build of forgiveness and second chances, it only seems right that bronn is given the opportunity to prove himself worthy. in any verses with margaery writers where she is still alive, margaery tyrell is very much the heir to highgarden.

◈     lord commander of the queens guard would be jorah mormont. although daenerys has faced betrayal from him, she has forgiven him. there is not a single person in both westeros and essos that daenerys would trust with her life above jorah. not only that, but he has been by her side for the longest and it would give her no greater honour than presenting him with such a title after he has heavily protected her from the moment they met in pentos. daenerys’ knowledge of westeros and essos is not simply made up of what she has learned from characters like viserys and magister illyrio but a majority of it has come from jorah mormont, who has been by her side apart from the small timeframe in which he was exiled by her. 

◈     davos seaworth will be granted the title of master of ships. i would like to think that daenerys had formed a bond with him, due to him being the one to bring jon to dragonstone. she admired his humour for what it was and more than anything, she admired his bravery as she knew that he had never fought in many fights. i would like to think that they shared memories of dragonstone and seeing as she does not know the castle very well, he would have offered her insight and knowledge of her ancestral home … telling her stories that shireen had taught him about the night she was born and her families history here. master of ships would also be a way to commemorate his son, in his death through the battle for blackwater bay. 

◈     master of whispers. in this divergence, varys did not die or betray her because she  ‘ went off the rails ’.  varys may have lost faith in her but daenerys’ kind nature and desire to give second chances was what gave him the opportunity to see something else in her  –––   a fire. he could see that daenerys knows what she needs to do in order to make this world far better than she found it and he believes in her to do so. master of whispers has always been a role he fulfilled in kings landing below kings that he has not necessarily believed in, so she would like to present him with the chance to work under her, having chosen her as his queen. 

◈     grand maester is something which would be offerered to samwell tarly. in this canon, daenerys did burn randyll tarly and other soldiers as punishment for the sack of highgarden and their distaste in taking her opportunity to fight for the winning side, especially as somebody who had an allegiance to house tyrell and decided to dishonour that for the premise of gold and serving under the lannister’s. she knows the hard work he endured throughout his time at the citadel and feels as though this is the perfect opportunity to honour the time that he spent there, as well as providing a safe place for gilly, sam and their new child to live  –––   under protection.

◈     master of law is something that i have not yet thought of and whilst tyrion would likely be perfect for the role, he is her hand. i am going to leave this one open as a plotting device to other people so if anybody would like to do a thread surrounding that role, then be my guest. this is also open to OC characters  –––   including females as we need some more woman on this  small council. i am also open to other suggestions for this role  !!!
