he knows what all of them are up to; he still writes to flertom and she sent him his neckwarmer, so that to me implies that they at least have a somewhat positive relationship?

its more ambiguous with meijack and puckpatti, but since meijack is also a picklock, i wouldn't be surprised if he taught her himself, considering how trades are often passed down through families, and because he talks about sending people to her if he dies.

also the way he talks about puckpatti is very like... it's obvious he wants her to take things more seriously, but he's accepting, and his tone here reads more fond to me than anything else.

like, he keeps his daughters' old toys under his desk? that doesn't scream 'deadbeat' at all, it screams 'empty nester' who doesn't know how to reach out or is scared to do so

EDIT: i know a lot of the 'deadbeat dad' stuff is jokes, but some people are Not joking and genuinely think chilchuck is a bad dad. this post is not saying that you cant joke about it; it is just outlining what canon shows regarding his (clearly positive) relationship with his kids.

Surprisingly he doesn't hold it against Peri or fairies as a whole. It would sort of like being mad a money, like, yeah that was his dads motivation at the time but money didn't make him do that. He chose to do that. It was just another of his dads many money making ventures.

Hey so y'all know how Garroth asks Aph if she's sure about taking in Levin? Because her duties as a lord might get in the way? Do you ever think about how he was raised? And how maybe he's looking at Levin and seeing another kid who might suffer bc his parent is too busy being important to love him, and he's afraid? Because he knows (or at least REALLY wants to believe) Aphmau wouldn't do it on purpose, but then again, part of him still wants to believe his father didn't either? And the way he IMMEDIATELY volunteers to be in Levin's life, IMMEDIATELY steps up at every occasion, gets Zoey involved, ACTIVELY SAYS THAT HE KNOWS LEVIN WILL BE SOMETHING GREAT SOMEDAY TO OTHER PEOPLE?? Look I know Lucifer isn't the best dad ever but I feel like people who say he's a bad dad are purposely ignoring the context of the show. It is very much implied that he thought Charlie wanted nothing to do with him, and Charlie thought he wanted nothing to do with her. Lucifer’s still dealing with trauma from Heaven and his fall and probably will for the rest of time plus he's dealing with what would probably qualify as clinical depression, and simultaneously dealing with trauma, clinical depression, and autistic traits (which Lucifer absolutely has; I do not say, as an autistic person, that Lucifer is a massive autistic mood for no reason) is a fucking NIGHTMARE.

I'm not saying Lucifer shouldn't take responsibility. He should. But he's already doing better than my dad frankly. Lucifer hits me in the daddy issues, I wish my dad made an effort to be more active in my life. Lucifer is fucking trying, and that's better than a lot of people can say about their dads.

percy ends up in the principals office, as he does, and he thinks hes gonna be expelled again

until the principal says who he calls. most of the time its sally, if she cant be reached its paul (who usually just talks on the phone since he cant leave his job). this time. this time is different

because when sally is called, the principal says ‘i called your mother’, when paul is called, ‘i called your step-father’

the principal said neither of those things

‘i called your father. he will be here shortly.’

percy had been in two wars. his father, clearly pissed off barging into the principals room 7 minutes later was something more traumatizing and horrific than both wars combined.

luckily, poseidon was mad at the principal. and made him cry. within 4 minutes. and managed to get percy only suspended for two weeks.

(poseidon did bring him on a shopping spree so it wasnt that bad (he got stuff for his mom and a few campers too ofc))

as they were leaving, it was clear that people were watching. several had their phones out recording. percy figured they were recording poseidon.

it was only a day later when percy realized. they were high schoolers. horny high schoolers. and a lot of them had 1. the ability to make edits and 2. a love for middle aged men.

You know how sometimes the parent has to stay for a little bit once class time actually starts just because the kid won't calm down? There's Kat with your weepy baby in his lap during opening ceremony, see; days of the week song and counting to ten, red faced n trying to hold back his own tears LMFAO because he honestly doesn't want to leave either.

(You ask him about it later, and he's defending himself with: what if something goes wrong? They don't like the lunch that's provided, or trip and fall in the unfamiliar hallways? Or god forbid, the teacher's an asshole and takes it out on the students???

Not that he hadn't already went overboard when you were looking at schools, vetting the program and reaching out to all the teachers to make sure they were exactly what he was looking for before even thinking about enrolling baby)

It's only when activity time actually starts that baby finally, finally pulls away from him when some kids ask yours to play with them, giving dad one last hug before shyly joining their circle and picking up a block.

AND there Bakugo is, crying on the way to the car and then low? high? key sobbing once you're in because your kid chose some "lil extras" to play with instead of continuing to cling onto him, which you have to remind him is actually a good thing, that other kids wanted to play with your child LMFAO.

He's such a freak LMFAO and it absolutely gets worse with your next baby, too jsdkafjkasdfjk BYE (he absolutely does hang out outside the kindergarten, sometimes even "forgetting" to give them their lunch ON PURPOSE, just so he has an excuse to drop it off and see them in the middle of the day).
