I am preemptively very sorry for this but I can stop thinking about this and I need to share this stupid train of thoughts witb you all before I explode
So. you know how in Tanz der Vampire the vampire bite is explicitly a metaphor for sex? You know how, since we dont actually know how exactly theyre related, people write explanations of how von Krolock and Herbert came to both be vampires and father and son in their fanfics? You know how its pretty much always some flavor of "Herbert is the counts biological son from before he became a vampire, then he became a vampire and bit him"? Has anyone else ever thought about the weird implications of that or is that just me
#i was gonna elaborate a bit more but yknow what im just dropping this in here why not#and just for the record im not saying that all fanworks need to use the same metaphors as canon or have the same themes as canon#this is just something i noticed when a fic i read went out of its way to explain the bite as nonsexual and now i cant unnotice it#how no one else ever seems to specify anything like that#and how a lot of fanfics are pretty vague about it in general like pretty much all we usually find out is just that the count did bite him#and im not trying to be like 'ugh this fandom needs more incest its so weird that theres not way more than there is' or whatever#i found like 7 romantic von krolock/herbert fics across three fanfic sites thats a perfectly fine amount#whatevr im just ramnlibg at this pont#point#tanz der vampire

thats very kind of you really, i dont always think my shits gr8 but knowing that it makes a few people happy is very nice to hear. ill get back into making edits soon i kinda had a modality switch in my brain back into drawing but i have a lot of unfinished capcut projects still tbh. that i put enough effort into to not just throw away. getting clips of wrestling has just been a struggle for me lately i just want to listen to medical podcasts and listen to music while drawing its a weird way my brain works. i might actually get back into making little 3d art things again too eventually when i get used to my new job, i need a good reliable routine there its so bad right now bc of "growing pains". so thats why im always slow on making shit on here. i even wrote some shitty ao3 rpf porn that i might eventually post just for the fucking irony and comedic value of it. i do a lot of things for the bit.
but no seriously you have said some very kind things and i do appreciate it a lot. sorry for always talking long on ur asks i just find them genuinely sweet and really surprising to receive. O_O

I'm bored at work so I'm seeing if I should report my old company for violating labor standards.
#totes bro#im so close but it is so obvious it would be me because i used to complain about this all the time#they dont inform their immigrant workers of their rights and so they dont like understand how their timecard works#and thr company advises them to take the least expensive insurance policy because they 'are healthy and don't need it'#but i know one couple wants fertility treatments but couldnt afford it because of that#they dont have the required posters#they also knowingly continue osha violations which i held a meeting over and was told this doesnt apply to us#which uhm it says it does on the Web site so i disagree#all of this is like why i left and what caused me to leave#and literally lying to me and another guy that we would get promotions for the work we did#and then they hired someone else to do the job making our promotions unnecessary and they were like hmmmm sorry#idk they like got a ton worse and i think the president got more reactionary which caused this#not sure how many of these count but thats not for me to decide anyway#oh and cleanliness standards but i actually fixed a lot of those..... fulfilling the role that promotion role that was promised#my coworkers here are like 'absolutely report the hell out of that place' because we do code violations lol#every time i say something they go 'that could be a violation :)'#they paid someone on a salary basis when they were under the salary pay and therefore should have gotten overtime

While the sentiment itself is absolutely true... I feel like sometimes, perhaps, it's not a work of fiction's fault that you're personally bad at picking up on satire

sometimes I wish I was a more interesting + charismatic person just so I could keep conversations going bc I like sharing space with other ppl but they routinely lose all interest and leave once I run out of things to say/start talking abt things that don't concern them :-(
#and boy do I run out of things to say so fast when I'm talking to friends who ik dont give a fuck abt any of my interests...#theres only so much i can make small talk or ask them questions abt their own interests/lives yknow. man#it just makes me feel like im constantly competing with smth else for other ppls attention all the time + constantly losing#eg. when i say smth + my flatmate reaches for her headphones a little dark souls banner appears across my vision like INTERACTION FAILED#and i can feel my rsd + insecurities praying on it like the more i feel this way the more it prophetically fulfils itself#by making me less willing to try and take up space so i become a smaller and smaller person around others#it frustrates me a lot sometimes and i dont rly have the will rn to undo that and force myself to take up more space regardless#ik this sounds like a water is wet complaint like oh nooo woe is me people get bored of me when i talk abt boring things (!!)#but when im spending time w ppl i like i enjoy listening to them talk even if im not interested in the subject bc its Them talking#and if they care abt smth then its worth hearing abt!! to me anyway. but it rly feels like no one reciprocates that idk#oh well not that it matters. at least i like the shit im into so i can talk to myself abt it in my head or on this site lmao#and i like myself as a person even if other people dont so theres always that. ur no 1 should always be urself <3#voicing this makes me feel so stupid + embarrassed urgh. i hate being anxious abt dumb shit i hate being the sort of person who worries#that their friends privately dislike/just tolerate them or whatever bc id never want a friend to worry abt whether i thought that abt them#and im not naturally a very insecure person!! i think im just feeling particularly vulnerable atm bc of the season + jobhunting so long#+ the fact im dissatisfied with my current social life + still feel very wobbly from not having other ppl i can trust or rely on etcetcetc#and thats just bleeding into other areas. and it sucks a lot. but theres nothing to be done abt it rn bc im not going to communicate it#to other ppl bc im not pathetic enough to make my anxieties someone elses problem + beg for pity attention im too proud for that 👍#anyway. gonna play some noita + then i rly need to work out today bc thats probs part of why im feeling so shite#if ur reading this ignore me im just venting itll pass. i hope youre having a nice day :^)#.vent#.diaries

Hi, you seem like I can trust your opinion. I am looking for TV show recommendations and I need shows that are either a) actually good, or b) at least entertaining without too much second hand embarrassment. Help me chef
Oh I love this question
1. The Bear, my recommendation of this is mostly inspired by you saying "help me chef", but its also really good (and critically acclaimed if you care about those things). It's pretty popular at the moment so if you haven't seen it already, you've probably at least heard of it. Its a dramedy (like 60/40 drama/comedy), about a chef taking over his brothers restaurant after they (the show has some potentially triggering content so look into that if you have to before watching) killed themself, and if follows the ups and downs that come with that.
2. The Other Two, its a comedy about an older brother and sister, to a teen boy who's become like a teenage Justin Bieber over night celebrity. And it follows how the older siblings handle it/try to exploit their younger brothers new fame. I think its a really good satire of the entertainment industry.
3. Taskmaster, this show, just trust me, its really entertaining, I'd say the show its most similar to is Whose Line Is It Anyway, as its comedians doing silly things, but its also not like it that much, its really its totally own thing, again trust me! It's very funny, it may take a couple episodes to really get the gist of the show but its so worth it. Also there is i think 17 seasons of it all on youtube for free so lots to catch up on!
4. Severance, its a dystopian drama about a guy whos consciousness has been split between his work and home life, so when he's at work he has no memory of life outside of work and vice versa. And each side of his consciousness is slowly trying to piece together what's going on on the other side. It's a really interesting show, if you like the show Black Mirror, you'll probably like this!
