Sometimes I see reviews about D&W where people think Worst Wolverine's backstory is super lacking. That they expected something epic like how Mysterio tricked Logan to slaughter everyone in the Old Man comic run.

But that plot, at least to me, doesn't make The Worst Wolverine. It probably makes the Most Tortured Wolverine -- the story of a man slaughtering his own family with his bare hands because he was mind controlled. Which inevitably created a power vacuum so gigantic that the world basically collapsed as supervillains take over the world.

But the title of Worst Wolverine should belong to the Logan that completely abandons his most important moral value: to be the protector.

Sure, he tends to be nomadic and at times self-isolates, but at his core he truly knows what it means to be a pack animal: to be a part of a cohesive family unit, rely on others, be a guardian for the weak.

In a literal sense, a common backstory for him was that he just fucked off from human society after he mutated to live with a pack of wolves. He turned feral, but they also taught him about the importance of community.

Even if you aren't a fan of the wolf background (which I AM because I think it's funny and dramatic as hell), there's other stories where he got taken care of by the Blackfoot Tribe and Lord Ogun before somehow winding up in the Weapon-X Program. Then, the Hudson family rescued him and helped him gain his humanity back after the adamantium experiments. He joined Department H, and sometime after, he found his place with the X-Men.

My point being that past or present, Logan has always belonged to a family. He needs it -- his human AND animal side both need it. He's not meant to be a creature of solitude. When he is, it's a form of punishment that he inflicts upon himself because he doesn't feel worthy to be around the people he loves or he's worried about hurting them. Or it's something inflicted upon him -- aka he's been captured and is being experimented on.

So what does all this tell us about Logan's moral code? He cares deeply for others because it's in his nature to be a part of a pack and he will do anything to protect them.

He's very caring towards animals (ex. looking after wolves that took care of him, mercy killing a bear in The Wolverine, and saving the horses in Logan). He tried to save Silver Fox's life when Sabretooth attacked her. When his wife Itsu was murdered, he relied on the advice of Lord Ogun to get vengeance for her with the Muramasa Blade. He joined Department H and Alpha Flight because he owed the Hudsons so much after re-acclimating him to society. He stayed with the X-Men because Charles gave him a home, family, and purpose outside of being a weapon. He enabled him to be the good man that he is by not only using his powers for the good fight but also being a teacher for the students.

As a character, Logan was created to reflect the archetype of the cowboy/samurai with the morals of honor, integrity, and justice. He's also not afraid to be judge, jury, and executioner for the people he loves. He's a man of action.

So what is the antithetical? A man who dishonors himself by not taking his job seriously. A man of inaction who abandons those he loves. A man who doesn't seek justice but wallows in regret and guilt.

And what did the Worst Wolverine do?

He let his fondness for drinking harm his work. While he was drinking at a bar, a group of humans invaded the X-Mansion and killed a large part of the staff, students, and X-Men. He entered a berserker rage where he murdered the invaders AND innocent people. He tarnished the legacy of the X-Men.

The title of Worst Wolverine doesn't go to the man who got brainwashed and killed without knowing. The title goes to the Logan who killed indescriminantly and didn’t want to stop.

He chose to walk away when they called out for him. He went into a beast state that made the public completely turn against the X-Men in just one night. Instead of making up for his sins, he just went back to the bar -- the very thing that killed his family. He did everything he could to go against his morals of honor, integrity, and justice.

He was a man who failed his family.

THAT'S what makes him The Worst Wolverine.

We learn about Angel's childhood, or a glimpse of it (again, sorry it's OOC but this is all self-indulgent☹️🙏!) And Alastor gives Angel a nickname🙂♡

Anyways, super sorry for how LATE this is💔 my classes recently started & I've been getting accustomed w how my study schedule would align w my personal😔 I rlly like my class based on my major since it's interesting to me, but ppl aren't very open to talking in any classes so I'm usually just kinda sitting there😮‍💨

Also, ignore how different Angel looks at the very last drawing w his face looking a bit more chubby, I drew these in different time spans🙏 but you can also imagine that it's how Alastor sees him in his perspective🙂♡

thinking about klavier gavin again because i saw someone say that the fact that he's the only prosecutor in the series who wants to find the truth and isn't insanely obsessed with winning like the other prosecutors makes him really boring

and i understand it to some extent when comparing him to other prosecutors but... Klavier Gavin??? BORING????

after playing aa4 i was OBSESSED with klavier gavin and the untouched potential of this guy

he loses his best friend/bandmate, his brother AND his mentor in the span of like a year?? i think??? which is INSANE.

there's something very tragic about klavier, a person who values finding the truth above all else, finding out that two of the people closest to him betrayed his trust and lied to him and used him for their own means AND ARE MURDERERS.

and then his mentor, a person who taught that seeking the truth is what a lawyer should do, gets murdered by a person who believes that winning in trials is the most important thing above all else WHICH IS THE SAME EXACT THING THAT KRISTOPH VALUED AS WELL !!!

this core belief of finding out the truth that klavier has, leads him to finding out about the things that daryan and kristoph did, and even though they are important to him, people he CARES about, he continues to work with apollo to see that justice is served.

and the fact that we don't get to see anything of klavier getting any closure after the events of aa4 makes me insane

we never get to see much of klavier's feelings on what happened or him fully processing the events of aa4 and that one case in aa5 and it makes me soooo upset. i wish he got more than that little cameo in aa5 and that one tiny flashback appearance in aa6.

in an alternate universe, aa4 got a true sequel that fully explored klavier's character, as well as phoenix's, klavier's, AND apollo's relationship with kristoph, and klavier's relationship with phoenix post-aa4, and also a more thought out? (for the lack of a better word) backstory for apollo, and an exploration of the jury system, and a game that ACTUALLY built upon the foundation that aa4 laid out.

and i am forever upset that we are not in that alternate universe.

What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.

What do you think wander lore would be like if we had a third season ?

i really don't know, it would depend on how much of his backstory was ever intended to be revealed. like he gets close to talking about the other names people used for him in the past, and he's excited to show sylvia what he was up to a thousand years ago, but like, would we get an explanation for that little shaking wander he's so afraid of in the wanders? would we get to know what made wander so helpless he wanted to make sure nobody ever felt that way again? would we see a home planet, or a family, or any old traveling companions? or is he doomed to be vague because it makes him more magical?

honestly i think it would probably include like. a couple of little lore-drops to expand on a little more, but it wouldn't leave the audience without like a hundred more questions. i think the speculation is really fun, anyway, so i dunno if i would rather know his full life's story or if i'd rather keep guessing at whatever is most interesting to me. im just like these people except cooler and less wrong (slash j)

and tbh i don't have any real headcanons for wander's actual origin point because everything i think about feels a little unsatisfying and makes him a little too dr who. in my head, wander's been around for however long it takes the universe to forget the imprint of whatever brought him into existence in the first place, and that's all i can speculate on without feeling like melodie and her expansive tale of family and feels or whatever

Anyone remember the Frostbek series I was working on? Before it kinda stopped? Yeah, I’m still writing it, just very slowly lol. (Actually, at this rate, the next fic might not get posted until ouaw itself picks back up)

Anyway, out of all the fics I have planned for this series (and there’s a lot of ‘em), there’s only one I’m really excited for and know exactly how I’m gonna have it play out. Actually it’s technically 3 separate fics, but they’re connected with this plotline.

CW: Abusive relationship (it’s regarding The Other, so…yeah)

So Frost wakes up in the middle of the night, and all he can see is the glow from Torbek’s canisters, and his eyes. This is not abnormal—I imagine Torbek is more of a night owl like Frost is, but has to be up during the day bc responsibilities and traveling—what IS abnormal, however, is the bright pink hue to his boyfriend’s eyes. “Torbek” sees that Frosty is awake, and immediately crawls closer, smiling.

They have a conversation, that essentially boils down to The Other telling Frost that He’ll be taking over for a while, but to not be alarmed because He has grown rather fond of Frost, partially because of how much Torbek cares for the Tabaxi. The Other does threaten Frost, however, and tells him that if he’d like to keep his head on his shoulders, he wouldn’t tell the others about what’s going on. And that he knows if/when Frost is communicating with someone mentally (idk if The Other actually has mind powers, but shhh). So, Frost keeps quiet about this. For 2 months.

The Other isn’t physically harming Frost, other than a small cut on his cheek from the initial conversation. But the others (Gricko especially) notice how odd both Frost and “Torbek” are acting. Frost seems uncomfortable, if not outright scared, of “Torbek”, and is significantly quieter than he normally is. He won’t even talk to them mentally. And “Torbek” won’t leave Frost’s side. At all. Whereas beforehand, while Torbek was much more comfortable with Frost around, they both also had their own responsibilities on the reformed Carnival, and would spend much of the day apart.

Now, though? Wherever Frost is, “Torbek” is. The bugbear won’t even leave the poor man alone to use the bathroom. And he’s also INCREDIBLY jealous, glaring daggers at whoever decides to talk to Frost for any reason (if looks could kill, Gricko would be dead 10 times over)

Eventually, Gricko realizes that this isn’t Torbek, and must be The Other, and manages to pry Frost away from Him for a short while. He tells Frost there must be some way to bring Torbek back, and that he should try and use his psychic abilities, and see if that works. Frost agrees, and that night, he does so.

This leads to Frost learning just how deep Torbek’s affections go, and Torbek makes a deal with his Other, who agrees and lets Torbek take control again. Happily ever after. For the time being, anyway. ;)
