naruto definitely goes through a fair amount of growth as the series goes on (in addition to his personality getting a little flanderized at some points) so its easy to forget that he had a lot of layers to that personality. I know The Swing has been memed to death but like. Naruto is not against killing, at all. He tends to sympathize with the villains a lot (outside of orochimaru lol) and killing is definitely not his first choice, but if you go after his Precious People™, he does NOT hold back at all.
