The wiki doesn't take into the account the Auror training programme despite it being explicitly mentioned by Aesop himself in the game.

That programme implies 3 years of training.

Depending on when Aesop finished the school (17-18) and when he would finish the course (21-22), it'll make him at least 36-37, maybe even 38, if you count all possible max late dates, in 1890.

However, that memo we find in his office only states he is among the new additions. It doesn't say it is his very first field work or that he was a newbie by the time Dec 31 1875 rolled around.

I highly suspect he chose that memo because it has MC's birth year, or, at least, it's close enough to just to tell them he'd been already an Auror when they were only marching under the table — if they even knew how to walk. If he's not 36-38, he must be older, not younger.

Hate to ruin the dilf vibes Aesop Sharp gives for everyone but today I found out that there's a massive possibility (at the very least) he was 32 in 1890-1891 during the time of the game. 😭

It says he was born in 1858 or a little before so he could be in his later thirties but I for real thought this man was pushing 50 omg. 😭

Well, I think it portrays more condescension on Dazai's part than it seems...

Because Dazai touching Akutagawa might have been the reason he even fainted.

Akutagawa clearly agrees with Dazai when he points out his exhaustion, responding to his "You're at your limit, now, aren't you?" With "It doesn't matter".

Rashōmon could have been the only thing keeping Akutagawa standing at that moment.

Dazai could have been totally aware that that was the case.

And what he does? Nullify his ability right then and there. Seep what's left of his strength away. Before, and not after, he provides him the praise he oh-so-needs after so, so long.

I'm half certain Dazai wouldn't have given that compliment if he wasn't sure he'd turn his protege off that way. Never having to deal with the reaction, never having to handle the emotions that would result and stem because of him. Easier that way, isn't it?

And you know what? I don't even think Akutagawa heard him at that moment, else why would he still be adamant to win Dazai's approval after this scene?
