So obviously that title needs a bit of clarification. I (21f) am leader of a very small and tight knit minority group that's being persecuted by a very rich and very powerful man (3200m) and his family. For anonymity's sake we'll call him "Thunderbeard." He wants us all exterminated and our souls sent straight to eternal punishment, just because he has beef with our parents, my father (10000m) in particular. My father is also his father, but that doesn't really matter to him so we'll leave that aside.

We don't want anything to do with our parents; they made us solely to use as expendable soldiers, and we want more out of life. I literally diced one of them (7400m) and threw the pieces into super hell so we could avoid that. Unfortunately we only got a couple days of peace before Thunderbeard learned about us and had a bunch of his "employees" start hunting us. This was about five years ago.

I've lost good people. I can't imagine how they must be suffering right now, for no good reason. We'll all join them if we don't do something. I have a long term plan, but to enact it I need to buy us time.

Here's where things get complicated. Thunderbeard and his co-tyrants have kids similar to us, and a lot of them. Some are much younger than us, a few are much older, but they definitely outnumber us by a sizeable margin. Whenever Thunderbeard and Co need a job done, they typically send a few of the kids out to do it, more depending on how big the job is. The only reason they haven't been sent against us yet is because Thunderbeard thinks there's not enough of us to warrant it. My worry is that once he realizes he's wrong, he'll "rally the troops," as it were, and we'll be overwhelmed.

So I looked for ways to mitigate that, and happened on one that's a bit morally contentious. See, their kids are split into two groups (the criteria for which is a bit hard to follow and not really relevant atm) that have fought each other in the past. My thought was, if they fight again, maybe they'll weaken each other enough that we stand a chance against them. We've been laying the groundwork for that for a few years now, and earlier this week we kicked things firmly into motion. Barring any unforeseen mishaps, it could be the saving grace we've been praying for.

Now clearly that's not a good thing to do, I'm fully aware of that. It's already putting strain on my personal relationships. I just learned that I have a half-sister (19f) who I'd love to get to know, but she thinks I'm a "warmonger" and won't hear me out at all. It's all I can do some nights to fall asleep while the guilt eats away me.

But what else should we do? My people are counting on me to save them. We're damned even if we do nothing, so isn't the moral thing to fight however we can, even if it's sneaky and underhanded?

as a Jewish woman with both an Israeli and Argentinian citizenships, two jewish communities who were seriously hurt by Hezbollah crimes, i am deeply outraged by this.

seems like being an international voice didn’t make you feel obligated to do some proper research before talking, so let me do it for you. unlike israeli women, no, not all of lebanon is under attack. there are very specific regions that the lebanese government (+military) lost it’s hold on to the terror group of hezbollah MANY YEARS ago. hezbollah completely rules the region and started an ongoing, unprovoked attack on israel on october 8th, 2023. long story short? the israeli and lebanese states aren’t at war at all, actually. the thing is that the lebanese government basically doesn’t mess with hezbollah, like at all either, so they’ve being bombing the israeli north completely unhinged, since october ‘23, until israel attacked back and now y’all are so worried that israel is being too aggressive as always. here’s a map of lebanon and it’s regions (strong green for hezbollah):

as you may see, all of the border with israel is hezbollah, so after the war in 2006, after a ceasefire was declared, useless unifil soldiers were stationed there as well. obviously it didn’t bother hezbollah from making bunkers literally everywhere, under civilian homes, mostly to hide the craziest amount of ammo you can think of, but also to infiltrate israel and hurt civilians. those are the targets, idk why they’d live over it.

and as to the my jewish-argentinian community? it might have been over 30 years since the terror attacks, but hezbollah even got there and murdered so many and my community never recovered. do you even know about those?

so, @un-women, why won’t you call for the lebanese government & military to get hezbollah under control for the sake of both lebanese AND israeli women? instead of continuously addressing everyone’s suffering, but israeli women, who are also being hurt, killed, raped, denied of basic needs, attacked, displaced, starved and more?

Here's my From season 4 theory:

So we know Tabitha has dreamed about being in Fromville as a girl who was dressed in a cape at the red stones, and Jade saw the guy dressed in old rags and missing an eye at the same stones. I don't know what time period this is, but I saw a person somewhere mention they look dressed from the same period.

Both are also seeing civil war soldiers. (Tabitha not directly. She was Miranda when she saw them.)

So they both seem to have memories from lives in Fromville far into the past.

I think the monsters from the 1950s being the OG ones who sacrificed their children is a misdirect. Jade & Tabitha's visions/memories go back further than that, so the place has been around a lot longer. I think Jade and Tabitha have reincarnating since the beginning of this place, and the people who first sacrificed their kids are older than the monsters. They're actually the things in the forest that are worse than the town.

Now why are Tabitha & Jade reincarnating rather than becoming whatever the other people became?

Well, it's because Tabitha made a promise to the Boy in White to defeat the Man in Yellow by fulfilling a quest.

What quest you ask? Why, the quest to obtain the hottest husband possible.

Wait, wait. Hear me out.

Henry looks like he was a good-looking dude at 35, and Jim is a blue-eyed hottie himself, so Miranda & Tabitha were obviously well on the way. It just was not quite enough.

Then Tabitha gets to Fromville and meets Jade who (based on empirical data collected via Tumblr poll) is becoming exponentially more fuckable each season. By season 4, Jade's fuckability will be reaching critical levels. Fifth season, it'll be unchartable. Tabitha will have achieved her goal of most fuckable husband to ever live.

Then, everyone gets go home. Remember when we get to season 5 that I called it!

Okay. Sorry, I'm kidding about the Jade fuckability part. But for real, I don't think that the 1950s monsters are the original people who made the deal for immortality.

My theory is that it started hundreds of years ago. With help from the Boy in White, (original)Jade and (original)Tabitha were able to reincarnate so that they can try to save their daughter. (The image on the talisman is either Jade & Tabitha with the sun & moon representing rebirth or MIY & BIW with the sun and moon representing opposing forces. I'm leaning toward the second.)

Now, each cycle restarts when both Jade & Tabitha arrive. (Miranda and Christopher were the two cars that arrived in the past, and although Victor talks about it like he remembers it happening but doesn't seem like he was in one of the cars, I think that's a misdirect, because it would have been too obvious if we knew Mirand and Christopher were the last people to arrive in the same day.)

Each cycle gets to make a choice. If they choose to sacrifice their children, they become a new monster in the forest. In the 1950s cycle, they chose to make the sacrifice, forming the town and turning the people into monsters.

During Victor's cycle in the 1970s, neither Miranda nor Christopher remembered their past lives like Tabitha and Jade just did. However, the town was given the same choice. Miranda hid Victor and Eloise from Christopher (she told Victor to hide somewhere Christopher didn't know about), because he was going to choose to sacrifice the children while Miranda wanted to try to set the ones that were already trapped free. Since Victor was hidden, there was no sacrifice, and everyone died instead of becoming a new type of immortal monster.

I made a compilation of Ambessa being a horrible parent on tiktok and someone left several comments defending her from that label and now I'm really upset so please indulge my rant.

First of all, I know Ambessa is a complex character. I know she's gone through a lot of trauma to make her how she is. She didn't deserve what happened to her, but Mel didn't deserve her trauma either.

Ambessa definitely loved her daughter, but she also resented her. Those things can be true at the same time. I think she resents Mel for being merciful, for being an affair baby, for being a mage. All things that are not her fault. Now that I've gotten those statements out of the way, let me walk you through every way Ambessa failed her daughter.

We all know how fucked up it is that she murdered a child in front of Mel, but I've never seen anyone talk about how she turned away first, letting her think she wouldn't go through with it. She was just trying to be cruel.

I've also never heard anyone discuss that when she says "perhaps she could be my daughter", its in response to Mel saying that the new ruler would need to be molded. The narrative literally tells you that Ambessa is a manipulative mother.

When she arrives in Piltover, the first thing she does is gaslight Mel about her banishment. Then when she's called out on it, she tries to smooth it over with a compliment and by throwing her arm around Mel, who of course knows exactly what she's doing.

Then when she's confronted on the fact that she banished her own child, she says it was because Mel weakened her. I will admit her care is more evident here, but even then she used Mel's pain as leverage to get her to vote for war by offering to let her come home.

In season 2 act 3, it's more of the same. But it's also worse.

Ambessa is obviously glad that Mel's alive, but she doesn't even hug her. I understand she has trouble showing affection, but still

And then she hits Mel. I don't care what you say, it's never okay to hit your kid. And honestly, I stand by Mel for what she said to her mom about letting Kino die.

Mel is the only one in the whole show who ever refers to her brother by name, and that seems intentional. Her flashback indicates that she looked up to him, and her time in the occulorum with Leblanc's illusion shows that the two had an emotionally open relationship and showed each other physical affection. Ambessa may have constantly kept Mel guessing how she felt about her, but she always knew Kino loved her. And now he's gone, and he's not coming back.

And then Ambessa says he was all the sweetness in her heart, basically admitting that Mel was none of it! She says she let him die to protect her! Why would she do that when it seems Kino was the favorite? Why would she do that when he, the oldest, would have been the de facto heir? Because Mel is a weapon. That's why she has to be protected. Because she's valuable to Ambessa's ambition.

And yet, she never told Mel she was a mage. She only sent her away. Away from her home, away from Kino's love, away from everything she knew.

Also, Ambessa talks shit about mages even though Mel IS one. That shit made me fume.

Mel begs her not to go through with her plans. She offers to go back to Noxus with her and help avenge Kino, but Ambessa won't listen. She won't even listen when Mel stops the execution and points out that her ambition has cost her Rictus and Kino. Instead, she has her soldiers turn their weapons on her own daughter. I doubt they would have killed her, but it's still a massive betrayal.

And her last words, though they are of pride, are devastating: "You are the wolf."

The very thing Mel fought not to become. The very thing she had to become to defeat her mother.

Infection

How Kallamar got his scar on his left eye.

For context: Kallamar is seveteen and got recruited by Shamura (who is around 30).

Kallamar did not expect, after being recruited by War themselves as a poisoner, to be in any way met with open arms by the other soldiers, for several reasons.

First of all, he was not a warrior. He only stepped foot on the battlefield after everything was done, and some of the soldiers considered him way too fragile and weak to actually help.

Second, he was a foreigner, and had some problems with the language barrier, even if luckily he came from a place where Silk Cradle's language was pretty used and he even read it on some medical tomes. Still, he had a certain accent (that he was actively trying to lose) and some words were still unknown to him. He was pretty sure thatsome soldiers referred to him with a slur, bbut he was not sure. He wasn't the only foreigner in Shamura's army, but this was not going to stop it.

Also, the fact that he poisoned his ex village was considered by a lot of soldiers as a clear sign that he was, and he could quote the exact words a soldier used behind his back, "a psychotic piece of shit who will not hesitate to stab the Spider's back". Which, obviously, was not true: he had no reason to hurt Shamura! After all, they gave him a home, a role, hot food and sometimes they even talked to him! Way mroe than anything he could had ever wish for!

So, he knew he was not in any way welcome there.

Still, slashing his left eye was a little too much.

Right now, Kallamar was sitting on a brand bed in the medical bay, holding an hand over his now bandaged face.

The doctor was reassuring, once again, that his wound was not going to get infected and that he was going to have a quick recovery, before excusing herself and leaving when Shamura entered.

War glanced at the squid, their expression indecifrable and cold. Disappointed, maybe.

Kallamar looked at the ground, as his mind started to race.

- I was informed of what happened. I still want to hear your side.-

- I didn't... I was not the one to start it.-

- I have no doubt in that, but I still want to hear your version.-

Kallamar was shaking, as he tried to find the words.

- I didn't... I was just... they attacked me out of nowhere, and said i had to "earn my right to live" and things like that, and others were inciting them, and... and... and they had a knife, and...- he was more than omce interrupted by a few sobs - I was scared... I couldn't...-

- You managed to take their knife away and then stabbed your opponent, right?-

- They putted it down, saying something about "a fair fight", and I knew they could had easily snapped my back, I just...-

- You stabbed them in the neck. Precisely in the carotids.-

Kallamar still didn't loook at them.

- And than you stabbed them other fifteen times. Some of the soldiers even report that you started laughing during your rampage.-

Kallamar holded back a sob. As they needed another reason to hate him. He was going to be executed, or thrown in the prison at best. All for a stupid fight.

- I really can't see why you were scared. Honestly, I'm impressed.-

Kallamar looked at the spider, trying to catch an underlying sarcasm. Instead, he found something akin to pride - Do not worry, I am not mad about their death, it was self defense after all.-

- I killed them.-

- They attacked first with the intention to kill you. I can forgive your reasonable outburst of adrenaline. We will have to work on your emotion management and teach you how to incapacitate an opponent without killing them, even if I doubt someone else will decide to try something similar to this.-

Kallamar was sure he must had misheard them.

-... Why aren't you mad? You should be mad that I was the one who survived. You should...- towards the end, he slipped in a swear word in his language.

Shamura's expression was filled with genuine confusion.

- Why would I be mad about that...? You are an important asset in my army and also a good kid with a promising future. I would had been really upset if you actually died.-

Bullshit. They must be lying. He was just a stupid weakling who could not do anything right and who's only role in life was to die and-

- Regardless of whatever your old village made you believe, you matter as much as anyone else. I'm happy you're alive, kid.- the spider gently patted his head, and that was it.

The squid bursted into tears, overwhelmed.

we went over the 14yr long torture session in my last therapy visit actually, and i told her that toward the end i was fantasizing about and then actively considering walking into traffic because if i got catastrophically injured then they would have to treat my pain. and she told me that's not an uncommon thing for people to do. that she has heard that many times before.

like think about that. we are so moralistic about drug use and have politicized a particular type of medicine so much, and doctors are so uncompassionate toward and even suspicious of patients who are in pain because of it, that it's NOT UNCOMMON for people who are otherwise not suicidal to start completely genuinely longing to get hit by a fucking car just for the chance to be oh so graciously provided the absolute bare fucking minimum of care.

think about how many different things have pain as a symptom. how many things have pain as the only symptom the patient is aware of. how many of them are life or death crises. heart attacks. blood clots. strokes. bleeding ulcers. those are just what i can think of off the top of my fucking head, AND I'M NOT A FUCKING DOCTOR.

what i had, for example, feels exactly like appendicitis. and they left it for fourteen years because my only symptom was excruciating pain and i didn't fit their stupid little (completely unsupported by evidence, btw) diagnostic mnemonic. if it had been appendicitis, or anything else as immediately deadly that "just" hurts, i would have fucking died the same night i got sent home from the emergency room with "medical" "advice" to take some tylenol and rest - for the first time, that is. out of dozens. how many people do die that way?

because addicts are Bad. and because doctors are too arrogant and biased to practice medicine on the basis of evidence and informed consent when the profit model and conservative propaganda make it soooo easy to stay in the good old days of paternalism instead.
