One thing I find so interesting about the PJO fandom is how they actually accepted how Rick fucked up 90% of the goddesses. Even when he uses a version of a myth that specifically talks about men being idiots, he villainizes women. Like, no one complained about how fucked up is that he used the story of Hephaestus trying to rape Athena and turning it into a “poor guy cried bc he was rejected by a girl” thing?
The true story is literally Hephaestus trying to rape Athena, she fights him off but his semen falls into her skirt and cleans it with a piece of cloth and tosses it into the ground (earth, which is Gaia) and from there, Erictonio is born. And Athena raised the child as her own even tho he was the product of the assault she suffered. The guy ruled Athens.
Rick turned it into Hephaestus falling in love with Athena and crying on her lap, making her reject and KICK him plus being disgusted by the tears and the dirt.
He also used all of Ovid versions he could possibly find to fuck Athena up. Arachne doesn’t happen with Greek writers and Medusa was never cursed (or assaulted) when we talk about the OG Myth. She was already born a monster and Athena only helps Perseus kill her bc yeah, Medusa killed people.
Also, Medusa’s version by Ovid is a lot alike Cassandra of Troy story, and let me tell ya, Cassandra was cursed but it wasn’t by a woman. And when she was raped by Ajax, Athena made sure that he didn’t made it back to Greece.
Now I’m gonna talk about Demeter. Demeter, who had her daughter kidnapped, raped and imprisoned, and was turned into the typical “mother in law who hated son in law bc she thinks her daughter could do better” when yeah…she has all the right to feel angry bc her daughter was KIDNAPPED.
Artemis doesn’t hate men and her followers also don’t hate men. Feminism isn’t about hating men.
Aphrodite. I cannot even describe how dirty they made Aphrodite’s children. Like be fr one of her children helped build what it would’ve been Rome. He was a fighter. And her cabin there is just so different of what she is truly like. They should have a lot of other powers.
Also, a lot of women from the books follows the same stereotype of “omg I hate makeup it’s so girlish and I’d rather fight” like you can be feminine, wear makeup and STILL FIGHT. One doesn’t erase the other.
Another thing, but this one is about MOTHERS! I truly cannot understand the way Rick creates his women. I’m serious tho. Like, I’m sorry but sometimes it seems that his thing some goddesses (Athena, for example) are personal. The “abandoning Athens” thing, the “should’ve chosen Poseidon”, the way he wrote her as being cold towards her kids…in one of the versions, Athena was the one who saved Dionysus from Hera. She raised a child and made him a king even though he was the product of her almost rapist. She was there helping heroes all along. She fought for Odysseus for ten years.
Also, this fandom is incapable of seeing the difference between Minerva and Athena. Minerva gave Annabeth the mark, Athena had nothing to do with this. Annabeth is her favorite daughter, she made her architect of Olympus, protected her through her journey to find Luke and Thalia, disobeyed her fathers orders trying to help to find Annabeth, made battle plans with her and all…and she always claimed all of her children.
I think people just don’t like her bc she doesn’t trust Percy. And she shouldn’t. I love him, but Athena IS the goddess of wisdom after all and as such, it would be pretty dumb to trust a demigod that won a battle against the god of war when he was only twelve. Not to mention that everyone kinda thought the “preserve or destroy Olympus” was on his hands. And he tortured a goddess…I’m sorry but she was pretty much right. Wouldn’t trust someone that had the power to fuck me and my family up either. She dint made the choice based on “omg I hate my rival and his children” even more so bc she was trained by one of his children and bunch of grandchildren. She made the choice based on what she thought was less risky.
If she was so against Percabeth, I can assure you she would’ve killed Percy and probably wouldn’t even suffer much consequences. She admires some things about Percy but she was right about his flaw. And she also helped him during one of his quest to go to college. Does she loves the idea of the relationship? No. But that’s bc she is precisely the opposite of love. She doesn’t make decisions based on what her heart says, but on what her brain says. If she succumbs to the heart, then she would seize to be goddess of wisdom, reason and all of what she values. That’s why she vowed to never marry.
And, as Helenist, I do not take the myths that seriously bc when we talk about religion, I have a clear mind that those myth were made by humans who used the gods as a tool to justify some of their actions, and I hate almost all of the retellings that those authors do, but is so wild to see how much power they have on society bc now I cannot see anything about the gods without someone saying shit about them. But I do know all about the myths and I gotta say, doesn’t make much sense to use a Roman author to talk about Greek Gods. He made them dirty. Also doesn’t make much sense to use this versions of Ovid but still change it to make it more sweet for the men. Poseidon and Athena didn’t spend that much time beefing, they even have a city together (Troezen) and she definitely doesn’t hate his children. Her best friend was literally his grandchild.
Safe to say that y’all should probably question Rick on how he treats women bc I was seeing the PJO series (the cast is amazing btw, safe to say that Leah/Annabeth is my fav) and by the looks of it, saying on how he changed Athena’s personality one more time, I legit think that Annie won’t jump to save her friends on season 3, she will probably be pushed by her mother or whatever.
Another thing: apparently only the women that like and have a friendship with Percy are treated as cool. But that’s on the fandom, not the author.
I forgot to add one thing and I’m gonna fix the grammar later but the “this is for children” excuse isn’t really valid considering that we saw Gabe being aggressive with Sally, we also saw Ares being a jerk to Clarisse (which also doesn’t make sense) and the story clearly states cheating, fights, death and a lot of other terrors. If you’re gonna use a rape version of a myth bc you chose to fuck a Goddess up, then you should state that the man is to blame. In the books we see Medusa saying she was Poseidon’s girlfriend/lover…she was his lover on the og myth, not in the version Rick chose. In the version that he chose, she was clearly raped. But he erased that and replaced rapist with boyfriend. He could’ve chosen to do another path if he didn’t want to talk about sexual abuse, I can tell y’all a hundred of ways this could go, but he chose this path and changed it, favoring the man. Again.
He could’ve gone with the theogony and said what was there that basically is: she was a monster, BORN a monster, daughter of other two monsters, no one wanted to get close to her, but he did. They slept together in a camp of flowers.
Athena only enters the story wayyy after this. And, as y’all can see, no curse. Yet, he chose to go with the rape version were Medusa is a maiden, loyal to Athena, gets raped on Athena’s temple by Poseidon and Athena curses her. And what did the author do? He made this: Medusa, loyal to Athena, fell in love with Poseidon and they did things on her temple. Athena cursed her. Again erasing the men’s fault.
The hate on Athena doesn’t make any sense at all. Y’all love some other male characters that don’t have a single sense of responsibility and possibly did everything wrong in the book. I saw people condemn Athena for her treatment of Deadalus when the guy literally killed his nephew bc he was more praised than him. And Athena gave him a mark that burned and did some shit to teach him a lesson. Poseidon wanted a trial to avenge his rapist son that was killed by Ares bc he tried to rape one of Ares daughters. A RAPIST. And Poseidon is treated like and angel bc what??? He likes Percy? Is his father and got him a gift? And Athena is being hated bc she isn’t his number one fan and her Roman part decided to give Annabeth a Mark? And mind you she’s just like that with him bc she knows more than everyone else and knows that he is dangerous. A good guy? Yes, Percy is the most amazing guy. Still dangerous. Still had the power to torture a goddess and win against the god of war. And she doesn’t dislike him, she dislikes his relationship with her daughter. And even so, she didn’t stop the relationship. So yeah I won’t ever get why the women always get more hate than the men considering this.
Again, as a Helenist, I don’t take the myths seriously when I talk about the religion in general bc the Gods are superiors. They don’t have human flaws. But, as someone who knows about the myths, is safe to say I hate those stories that uses myths like that and turns it against the Goddesses and make them out to be the worst ever. All the gods deserved way better than what they got with those retellings.

Can we talk about how interesting Percy’s dynamics with the Olympians actually is? Like, both on an individual and on a general level?
He and Ares have a rivalry. A genuine rivalry, based on mutual dislike. Frank described them in Son of Neptune as “two old war buddies talking trash” and Phobos described Percy in “Stolen Chariot” as a “sworn enemy” of Ares. That’s actually insane if you think about it. Those are the immortal god of war, and a sixteen-year-old teenager. Ares would have been fine with Percy becoming a god, because he looked forward to just fight with him or beat him up for eternity.
Percy is the only known male demigod Artemis respects, who won the friendship of not one but two of her lieutenants.
He is the demigod, who challenged Dionysus views on heroes as a whole, and that, as a son of Poseidon, half-brother to Theseus, the hero who betrayed and left Dionysus wife. The hero, who ignited Dionysus hatred of half-bloods in the first place. Still, Dionysus placed his trust in Percy to save both Olympus and Pollux in the Last Olympian.
He and Nico are the only two demigods to ever canonically acknowledge Hestia. Percy even sacrificed hope to her, which was probably the biggest sacrifice and the biggest sign of respect she ever received from a demigod.
Aphrodite takes a special interest in his love life.
Hermes and him are on pretty friendly terms. So far, that Percy even refers to him as a “friend” in the Staff of Hermes. He is also the only demigod to ever completely openly criticize him on how he handled Luke’s situation and doesn’t back down from a rather intense argument. At the end of the last Olympian, Hermes gives Percy a list of his children outside of Camp half-blood and asks him to personally escort them to safety.
Despite Hades trying to imprison him and threatening him with death, Percy is, together with Nico, the reason why Hades and his children are accepted at Camp Half-Blood.
While Hera dislikes him, she still acknowledges Percy’s importance for her plans and describes him for one as “constant as a compass needle” when it comes to his friends, and also as someone who inspires loyalty in “Son of Neptune.”
Poseidon, centuries-old god of the ocean, who probably had thousands of children in his life called Percy his favourite son in Battle of the labyrinth. After a conversation about Antaeus, who, for over three thousand years has sacrificed people and monsters in honor of Poseidon. Still, it is Percy, who is his favourite son.
He is the only modern demigod to get offered godhood but chose instead to use their favor to create a better world for all demigods and to request forgiveness for the gods who fought on Kronos’ side, which changes some of the quintessential rules of their world.
Percy is blunt and not afraid to openly challenge them on their views and actions, but because he is probably the most powerful and accomplished hero to ever live, and because he has saved them and the world on numerous occasions, they can’t just ignore him or kill him off, and even have to listen to him on some rare occasions.
None of the other demigods really have that, at least to this scale.
It’s so interesting to me, how Percy’s relationship to the Olympians, both negative and positive, echoes more the relationship they would have to another god, than to a half-blood.

Absolutely Weird Record of Ragnarok Headcanons
Exactly what the header says.
-Mary gave her last name to Jack since she really couldn't give him his father's last name since they weren't married. Mary's last name? Worth. Yep,I'm implying that Jack's mom became Bloody Mary. -Loki spoils his daughter Hel. Hel was going to fight in the tournament, but since Loki feared losing his one daughter,he took her place. -Much like Loki, Lu Bu spoils his daughter. He'll drop whatever he's doing to do something with her. Yes,even if he's training,he'll stop. -The Thrud that was Raiden's Volundr in round 5 is Thor's daughter. He is absolutely devastated to know his little girl is no longer around. -the Hades in ROR would be rather offended by how he's shown in the Disney film Hercules. His biggest issue, though,is how Zeus and Hera are shown. -Adam has used the ZZ Top song Legs to describe his wife. And yes,he saw the Tumblr post saying she was bootylicious. -Tesla is the only canonically neurodivergent fighter. It's very commonly accepted that the real life Nikola Tesla was Autistic. -the way we see Anubis now is not his true form. It's a form he takes on to help the souls of the departed realize he's only helping them. His true form is more animalistic, appearing more like a wolf. He assumes this form when the deceased person's heart weighed more than the feather of Maat. He would retain his appearance from ROR if the feather weighed more than the heart or when the feather and heart were the same weight. -Megara,Hercules' wife, exists in ROR. She was in such a state of shock over losing her husband, she couldn't cry. -Persephone also exists in ROR. However, unlike Megara, she openly wept upon losing her husband. -Assuming that Anubis wins his round,he will declare that his opponent's heart weighed less than the feather of Maat, thus allowing them to go to the afterlife. -Leonidas has seen the movie 300. He wonders why Gerard Butler didn't have any gray hair like him, since he was in his late 50s or early 60s at the time of his death.

Ive lose the ask asking for my transmasc!Leo headcanon TT but i have them written down so imma post em like that
Leo transmasc headcanon
(many things are based on my own experience. Especially the dysphoria related things (so when i talk about Leo not being a real boy it is what he thinks bc of dysphoria. It’s not true.))
(warning angst angst (but thats Leo so that was expected)
it was so obvious even when he was small. He always wanted to play with boys, wear boys clothes, ect… His mom was fine with it. She bought him boys toys and clothes and even sometimes called him hijo. She was a bit confused, but she knew it made her child happy and it's all that mattered.
However, it didn’t go that well with his foster homes. However much he tried, they always stuck to his deadname and she/her. That was a big part of the reason he kept running away.
There really is no story behind the name Leo. He picked that one bc it sounded cool.
Once he got a good enough passing, he did everything he could so ppl will assume he’s cis.
Don’t ask me how he gots his hands on hrt. It’s a long and weird story.
The wilderness school was very strict about not mixing girls and boys in dorms.
Piper was his roommate, that’s how they met.
In their memories created by Hera, Jason has kinda always known he’s trans. So Leo never bothered to hide it from Jason (as he does with others).
But Jason doesn’t have much (any) education on transidentity… At first he assumed Leo was a cis guy, and then some things were a bit confusing (why was he in fem dorms ? Why does he wear a tank top under his shirt ? Did he just ask Piper for a tampon???) but he just kinda gave up on trying to understand, bc Leo is a nice guy anyways. And with time (and exterior knowledge on the matter) he started to put the pieces together and to understand that “ooh ok that makes sense".
Otherwise. Leo has no desire to get out of his comfortable closet.
He has such a fragile masculinity
Sometimes he acts a little bit macho. He’s aware he’s acting like an asshole but he’s terrified of being perceived as feminine.
Why does he try to flirt with every girl he sees ? Another attempt to pass better (and comfort himself in his fragile masculinity) by copying stereotypical boys' things.
He overbind so much, GODS. Man will wear his binder for 11h straight (while fighting and running around) and then have the audacity to complain that his body hurts.
Piper tries very hard to remind him to take proper breaks.
Jason is the biggest gender envy ever. He is handsome, tall, muscular… Leo really loves him but he also is so jealous and envious.
He is very envious of other boys in general.
When Percy got woken up in the middle of the night and left his cabin shirtless. When Frank went to take a break in the men’s restroom…
Gods, he would do anything to just be a normal boy. To be like them. To have their bodies. To not have to destroy his body to look slightly more masculine. To not have this constant fear that they’re gonna find out.
And to add to the reasons why he felt so much like the 7th wheel : Among the 7 there are 3 girls, 3 boys… And Leo. Forever inbetween. Not a girl, but not a boy like the others either.
Fortunately, with time he learnt to accept himself better and to feel more comfortable with others.
Piper helped him to go easier on himself. And he had an actual proper talk with Jason.
The first person he actually came out to was probably Annabeth, bc she’s cool and wise and nice.
And then he saw it actually was ok. She didn’t treat him any differently, she didn’t tell anyone else. She was cool with it.
He then told Frank and Hazel, with Piper’s help (mostly to explain to Hazel all those new terms). And it also went very great ! He then also told Percy and Nico.
He’s not entirely out, just to his closest friends and his siblings at camp. And it’s enough.
He still overbinds, but he has ppl to (discreetly) remind him to take care of himself. He’s still very dysphoric but his loved ones know how to remind him that he is their brother, an amazing boy.

Percy Jackson except Jason and Thalia were the first children born after the Big 3 vow.
Long before the events of the story.
Thalia still ends up and tree, but no one really knew what happened to Jason.
Until Sea of Monsters where instead of Tantalus showing up, Jason does.
Because if there's one thing Zeus/Jupiter's gonna do, it's punish his sons.
And just... Imagine everyone expecting some grised old being who's committed the worse crimes on earth.
But it's a kid.
It's a kid a few years older them wearing a tattered purple top.
He'd look like any other camper but there's chains on his wrists and ankles that drag behind him.
Scars covering his body and a tattoo no ones able to fully see.
His eyes mirror the sky before them and hold so much sadness that a person could drown in them.
Chiron is suprised to see him, a mix of greif and relief in his eyes as he greets him.
"It's good to see you, child."
"And you too, sir."
"None of that now, you are among friends."
Jason visibly relaxes at that, his smile goes from polite and practiced to genuine.
"Right... It's good to see you, old man."
His humour is so dry that's it's hard to tell when he's joking or not. And yet he's gotten some laughs.
It feels like a reward in itself when someone makes him laugh. His whole face lights up and for a second the sadness in him fades.
Jason's less off a new camp director as he is a glorified babysitter. And yet he takes it all in stride.
He's not a pushover and steps in to mediate, but for the most part let's everyone carry on as they wish.
If he's not around, Jason can be found sitting by his sisters tree. He talks in a hushed whisper, catching her up.
If anyone notices him crying, no one says a word.
Jason proves himself as a formidable fighter, having stopped a camper struggling with a sword technique and demonstrating it to them patiently.
Clarisse immediately challenges Jason.
He's clearly holding back but Jason does give her a fair fight. His fighting style is a lot more polished.
And yet, there's something wild about it.
He does smile at one point, when Maimer strikes him.
"I'm afraid, that little trick won't work on me."
It was a short fight but the Ares cabin definitely gained some respect for him.
Clarisse asks why he didn't use the electricity against her, and he says he can't.
Shaking his chains like that explained everything.
It's easy to forget Jason's parentage. Especially after seeing him gush over architecture with Annabeth.
Hell all he needs is grey eyes and he'd fit right in to the Athena cabin.
And yet, at the same time there's no one else who fits as Jason's parent than Zeus (well Jupiter but they don't know that.)
Jason's a natural leader, he's a great diplomat and can defuse even the most chaotic situations.
There's power in his words, authority and yet he doesn't abuse it. There's a weight that's always on his shoulders.
He's a mystery.
He doesn't sleep in the Zeus Cabin, he has a blanket and curls up on the ground. Apparently he's used too it.
Tho there's been times he has been persuaded to sleep in the Hermes cabin, it's rare he accepts.
Not that he sleeps much. People have heard the screams from his nightmares.
More often than not Jason's awake, talking to the Naids and Nymphs as he patrols camp grounds late at night.
Surprisingly none try and attack him, in fact they all treat him with respect.
Grover says that Jason's blessed by the wild by an ancient being, not that he knows who.
Jason doesn't talk a lot about himself, he will talk at length about his sister though. And old friends with a sad smile.
The past is a hard subject for him, he says bits and pieces but not much.
The camps magical food doesn't work for him. Jason goes out of camp borders and goes hunting.
He eats alone, outside and Hestia makes a fire for him. He always sacrifices some food to her.
But also to Hera, which was surprising.
"But your a son of Zeus... Does she accept offerings from you?"
"I'd hope so, I am her champion."
It takes a while for anyone to realise but Jason's chains are heavy.
In fact there are days where Jason simply can't move. Because lugging them around tires him out.
And sometimes the camps borders simply don't let him leave.
On those days some campers have hunted for him.
Jason's always suprised and thankful. He'll share and tell them not to out themselves in danger for him.
But they do so anyway.
Camp Half blood decided a long while back Jason was one of them.
He's like everyone's stressed out, tired, nerdy older brother.
Jason has no knowledge of pop culture and apparently that's a crime.
But since no tech is allowed at camp, which means a lot of reinactments of memes
He's still confused but very entertained.
They've seen him fight monsters and it's so different to how he's fought in spars.
Jason fights to survive, he doesn't have a weapon other than his own chains.
He growls, he rips monsters apart with his bare hands and teeth.
Only stopping when they've all been defeated.
It was awesome.
Tho he did almost get hit by lighting from above and had to rush back into camp.
"Can I ask, what are you being punished for?"
"Let's just say, me and my dad had a disagreement."
Zeus: He's a monster, he's nothing but trouble and a mistake.
Camp Half blood: If monster, why friend shaped?

I can go anywhere I want just not home: Ahsoka and Anakin
So my favourite part of the chapter was the way the actual ages of Ahsoka and Anakin played a part in their interaction, Ahsoka tells Anakin that he looks the same and Anakin answered that she looks old, which is true, Ahsoka is close to aging beyond Anakin´s age of death at 46 and while Anakin "looks" like clone wars Anakin, he isn´t just Anakin, this is post ROTJ Anakin, someone who already lived 23 years in the light and 23 years in the darkness, he is Vader, he is Anakin, he isn´t young at all and he is living in a whole other level in the force compared to the one Ahsoka lives, because she is still alive.
In fact the first question Anakin ask Ahsoka is if she still remembers Baylan Skoll, because that means she is still alive, she can still come back, "That´s good" he says.
I love how adult Ahsoka automatically reverts to her teenager personality when she noticed Anakin, she smiles, her eyes bright up, she makes jokes and teases Anakin just like in the good old times, because she missed him so much, in many ways he is her home and if he wasn´t there anymore she could not return home, as simple as that, she could not act as if Vader was Anakin, he was a broken version of her master, consumed by darkness, she probably was happy to hear from Luke Anakin died in the light but he was dead and she didn´t get the chance to say goobye but THIS, this is her brother/father, he is back, he looks the same, she can lower her guard, smile and tease because he is here to take care of things like he used to do when she was a child.
She only gets serious when Anakin isn´t automatically teasing her as well, when he says he needs to teach her one more thing, when he gets serious, then Ahsoka remembers Anakin isn´t just Anakin anymore, she knows him but he´s grown into someone she doesn´t know anymore either.
So Anakin begins by teasing her back, putting her at ease and then, he sends her to the heart of what´s bothering her, the clone wars. In many ways, she is still that child fighting over and over again, she no longer has a particular reason to keep fighting and she is tired. It´s such a good contrarts how while adult Ahsoka is teasing with Anakin, child Ahsoka is grumpy, she complains, she questions, she asks, just like she did in the past, this child is adult Ahsoka allowing herself to be a child again, to not have all the anwers and to complain to Anakin to give her a reason to keep fighting and explain why does it matter anymore. She could not do this with Hera and Sabine because Hera is her friend but they are not that close and she is also her superior in the alliance and Sabine depends on her to make the decisions and guide her but Anakin? He is family, she can complain all day long knowing he will try at least to listen to her and try to guide her to the best of his hability and this isn´t teenager Anakin either, this is post Vader Anakin so she knows she can get snippy, angry, mad and hostile with him all she wants, she has all the right to be and he will take it.
Anakin doesn´t just listens anymore, he counsels but he also pushes her into talking about what she doesnt want to talk about
"Do you really want a padawan?" "Being a teacher isn´t all that"
Low key Anakin is giving her the freedom of not being a teacher if she doesn´t want to be, Ahsoka looks at him affronted but it´s true, she accepted Sabine because Hera wanted her to and Sabine wanted her to but she herself isn´t sure she wants a padawan, in fact she already abandoned Sabine once, what is keeping her from doing the same again? and part of the reason she doesn´t know the answer is that she wants to be able to give Sabine or any other padawan something more than war, death and the training to be a warrior as a legacy but she is convinced there isn´t anything else she can give, because emotionally she is still that little girl forced to fight in a war, mourning for each death, mourning for her master fall and she believes that´s all she is ever going to be in the future. She fears her master fate because she believes that is going to be her fate too.
So Anakin, Vaderkin, tries to explain she has to adapt to the times, his master teached him to be a guardian of peace because that´s what he was, Anakin teached her how to be a soldier because they were fighting in a war and she would have died if he didn´t teach her how to survive war but this doesn´t mean she can´t adapt to the times she and her padawan are living and this is precisely what Ahsoka is refusing to do, she is stil in mourning so she can´t enjoy her present.
Anakin tells her she is more and even if she believes she can´t because she has his teachings in her, she is more because he also is way more than Vader.
So when Ahsoka answers him "you are more but more dangerous and powerful than anybody thoguht" and if that´s what he is, then what hope is there for her if she has inside herself his legacy, his teachings?
Is this what this is about? I gave you a choice live or die
Here Anakin gets mad because she isn´t understanding, she has his legacy but she isn´t him, his fall, his redemption, his good and his bad side are his own, not hers and in time she will have to make her own decisions, adapt, grow and teach her padawan what she had learned, they are the legacy of previous masters but they are also MORE, they are also what each one of them adds to that legacy.
So Anakin brings his other half, Vader, to teach her and test her with the same lesson Anakin learned along with Luke, his Son, you are more, you make your own choices and you can choose again and again and that´s what defines you, only you can define yourself, not others. He pushes Ahsoka with Vader´s persona to defy her to live once again but he also pushes her by showing her , her deepest fear, her falling, her becoming a darksider and he gives her an ultimatum, kill him and die herself, not just physically but the light inside of her, or live and stay in the light.
Ahsoka chooses the light and lets her lightsabers fall, just like Luke did, her lightsabers are no longer her life, she is more than war, she is more than just a warrior fighting in an eternal war but more than that, she is still herself and it´s her choice if she wants to stay being herself or die and fall.
Anakin reverts back from Vader to himself again, proud of her, happy with her choice, he reverts to show her how if he, who was in darkness for so many years, buried and dead inside could still come back, then there´s so much hope for her to make her life anew by not letting her past or her lightsabers define her anymore and this is symbolized with her being taken away from the water towards safety.
In the end, he didn´t just wanted to teach her how to live physically again or how to leave behind her past, enjoy her present and enjoy life, he also wanted her to learn she must live by not falling to the darkness and even if she falls, there´s "Hope for her still" because there was also hope for him as well and now Ahsoka can remember him without mourning, without regret.
Just so many great interactions between them. Loved this chapter. Hope we see what other scenes Anakin is going to have because this story isn´t done yet.
PD: Post ROTJ dead Anakin is so relaxed, happy and vibing, love it, honestly, good for him.

Do you have anymore of this written? Annabeth's way of helping Percy actually making it worse until he runs away and finally gets a taste of peace elsewhere? I love it so much.
https://www.tumblr.com/happyk44/749307578218053632?source=share
Pretty sure I've written something (or a couple somethings) similar to that piece before. It's a concept I really like. One of my first "Percy runs away to the Nome" pieces points out that Annabeth has been kind of preparing for the inherent trauma in being a demigod under the thumb of not so helpful gods her whole life compared to Percy who was thrown into it at random and retains a lot of bitterness over it versus passive acceptance the way Jason and Annabeth have kind of grown up to. Yeah, she has her beef with Hera but like. More or less, it's kind of "that's just how the gods are" with her and Percy is very much "well they should be fucking better".
I think that with her having known she was a demigod since she was a little kid, the difficulties she went through in getting to camp with Thalia, Grover and Luke, Thalia's sacrifice and seemingly having been holding onto the possibility of war at least since she was 12 and Percy came flailing into her life and into the prophecy - she's just able to compartmentalize her pains better than Percy who we know suffers more aptly with emotional regulation and anger issues. Whether she processes them in a healthy manner through this or represses, represses, represses is up to you, but I can see it being her default, and subsequently she gets very stressed out about Percy not being able to do the same thing.
Also people just process trauma differently and Annabeth gets very headstrong and stubborn about being right and that her way of doing things is superior (which is. like. one of the reasons I lowkey wanted to add her to the cluster B roster because imo her fatal flaw would fit NPD so well, but unfortunately I don't think enough of the diagnostic criteria suits her so RIP). So her way of handling trauma not working for Percy doesn't make sense to her, or the fact that Percy is still clearly having problems even if he pretends otherwise just makes her feel like he's not trying hard enough to get over it, so she starts pushing in ways that don't help because she's Annabeth and she knows how Percy works and she can map his way through this and if he would just try, then it would work (except they don't and they won't).
I've also mentioned before that Annabeth strikes me as someone who gets so beholden to her ideas and plans that any deviation from that plan (even if not well-thought out) is Not Allowed, and no matter how obvious the solution (change course, make other decisions, break-up and stay friends), she is extremely reluctant to do so. In Tartarus, she clung to the idea of her and Percy making it out alive and safe and moving to New Rome and being happy and going to college and growing old together and now, faced with the reality that the goal is likely unattainable (I really don't see Percy moving to California for college of all things, like let's be real) or facing some hitches (Percy's depression and self-isolation negates the whole happy and healthy thing), she gets further into her head about him not being able to get with the program.
So she tells him how to fix himself. He can't do it because her methods don't work for him like they work for her. She gets mad because there's no improvement from him and she doesn't know what else to try because she's exahusted all the options that Make Sense and Will Help Him and her way of doing things is right so he must be doing something wrong or not trying at all. He starts to withdraw from her because Percy doesn't really instigate fights and he's angry and unhealthy and doesn't want to hurt his girlfriend, and she gets mad because that's not how this is supposed to work, and they argue and the cycle just continues over and over and over again unti he's gone.
Personally I can write Percy disappearing in a bunch of ways. He fakes it until he realizes he can't make it and no one notices. He fakes it and people notice but they can't get him to open up about it. He suffers obviously but no one knows how to help him and he refuses to communicate. It will always culimaniate in him turning to isolation, turning to self-harm, turning to suicide, turning to whispering Carter's name like a desperate lifeline because if he kills himself Grover might die and his mom might be sad (he doesn't know, Estelle is there and she's good and she's normal and it's fine, his mom doesn't really need him, does she?) and Annabeth would probably be mad at him.
And if he calls out for Carter and he doesn't come or he doesn't care, well, then at least he can say he tried getting help, right? He didn't give up right away. He tried.
(Carter will always come and always offer the Nome as sanctuary and Percy will always accept it, even if he freaks the fuck out when they get there)

Ahsoka Variety Interview Thoughts
Hello, Sabezra nation!
So, it will probably start spilling out soon but, yes, some of the cast members from Ahsoka - Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Hayden Christensen and some guy named Dave Filoni - did an interview with Variety recently to talk about the show.
Now, I know what you're thinking: was there anything regarding Sabine and Ezra's relationship?
And the answer is a resounding NOPE.
But, it's still a very interesting article and there were a few tidbits that stood out to me that I feel is Sabezra related. So, I'll talk about that here.
First up: an interesting quote from Sabine Wren herself, Natasha.
I've written about this before in a previous post but it's very nice to have it be validated here by Natasha: that Sabine is, indeed, meant to come off as Anakin-coded in this first season of Ahsoka.
Others in this fandom have also noted this and this certainly lends credence to Sabine's feelings for Ezra being more than platonic. Sabine's decision to doom their galaxy in exchange for her friend's safety has enormous ramifications for the Star Wars universe going forward - and only one other character has had such an impact on the franchise: Anakin Skywalker.
Anakin made his choice out of desperation to save his wife, Padme. Star Wars loves its mythological cycles. Lucas passed on that love to Filoni so, in theory, Sabine should be following in the foot-steps of the disaster lineage of Jedi she is now a part of.
But, as I've noted before, one of Ahsoka's themes is trying to break cycles. Baylon wants to break the cycle of endless wars, Ahsoka wants to break the cycle of darkness plaguing her Jedi lineage, and Sabine wants to break the cycle of loss that's all too prevalent in her life.
What does that mean? It means that Filoni has the opportunity to do something that Anakin couldn't with Sabine: show a proper redemptive arc. Find a way to move forward with Ezra and everyone else she betrayed. Find a way to be forgiven and properly atone for her mistakes - preferably without dying or someone else dying on her behalf.
Of course, this is just interpretation on my behalf. The skeptic in me points out that Natasha is only referring to Sabine's recklessness and inner struggles as being what Ahsoka sees as similar to her former master. There's no mention of Ezra.
But we know that one of Anakin's "inner struggles" was his increasing attachment and feelings for Padme. So, is a stretch to say that these inner struggles that Sabine is wrestling with include her yet undisclosed feelings for her friend Ezra? No, not really.
With what Filoni set up from this first season, it's an inevitability that - at some point - Sabine is going to be questioned about why she made that decision. I personally see it as integral to her journey as a Jedi. Which means that Sabine needs to search her feelings and come to understand them.
It's significant that Natasha points out the echoes of Anakin in Sabine's personality and actions. It says quite a lot.
And to back up the whole "reverse Anidala" theory I have, here's what Filoni says in this next quote:
So this quote is Filoni referencing Ahsoka's struggles with Anakin's legacy as Vader during Rebels and then later in Ahsoka.
"How does that affect somebody when a person that they really admire and looked up to turned out not to be the person they thought they were? Are we all just capable of a fall from grace? And what is forgiveness? What shape does that look like?"
But, keeping this in mind, you could also apply this to Sabine's situation with Ezra, along with everyone else she cares about that was put directly in harm's way with her decision (Hera, Jacen, Zeb, Chopper).
Ahsoka, having come to terms with her own long struggle of forgiving and accepting Anakin for who he was, now has something else to offer Sabine other than showing her how to fight: how to forgive.
Sabine is, presumably (hopefully if Filoni isn't just going to sweep her actions under the rug), going to be struggling with the ramifications of her betrayal at some point in the future. And, not to mention, everyone else also finding out and will most likely be upset, to say the least.
Ahsoka, armed with her own knowledge of how to navigate that thorny path, can be a mediator in that regard. She'll stand with Sabine, as she promised - not condoning her actions, but providing understanding and her own special viewpoint on how to forgive and move on from such an incredibly selfish and destructive action (thanks to Anakin) - and help everyone else find a way to do so, as well.
I figure Ezra and Hera will probably be the focal point of conflict for Sabine. Hera, for obvious reasons, will be upset since Sabine helped kick-start another potential war with the Empire - something she does not want her child to experience growing up in like she and countless others did.
And there's also the matter of how it directly undermines what Kanan and Ezra sacrificed so much for.
As for Ezra . . . I don't know. It's complicated. No idea how Filoni is planning to tackle that. But it's going to hurt him.
It's going to hurt him so much.
But with Ahsoka's presence, it stands to reason that Sabine and Ezra can find a way to reconcile and build something new and stronger from the ruins of their prior relationship.
Other interesting items/observations from the interview:
Filoni already has an outline for Ahsoka season 2. (Nothing confirmed about a renewal, but he's got one ready.)
Hayden Christensen makes an interesting observation about Anakin's return being that he now has the power to wield both the Light Side and Dark Side of the Force, which also gives him the power to save Ahsoka . . . the same power he was trying to obtain when he pledged himself to the Dark Side during Revenge of the Sith.
There are no current plans on Baylon's recasting as of yet. Filoni is still figuring that out. (RIP, Ray Stevenson).
Natasha sees Ahsoka season 1 as setting up "enduring drama" between Ahsoka and Sabine. They still obviously have a lot to work out to mend their relationship - like what happened to Sabine's family and how that was somehow Ahsoka's fault, also Ahsoka stopping her training shortly afterwards.
There is only one direct mention of Thrawn and Ezra: Filoni's decision to send them to another galaxy was because keeping them in the home one was too easy ("too many people travelling, flying around; you can send a signal and get found"). He knew about other galaxies from a scene in Attack of the Clones.
A word of caution: we'll probably be getting more interviews like this within the coming weeks so there will be, presumably, lots of new info coming in.
Hopefully we'll be getting interviews from Eman and Ivanna, as well, since I'm interested to hear more about their characters (Ezra, for obvious reasons, but Shin we definitely need to know more about) and what they might be up to in a future season.
But . . . some of these interviews might contain, shall we say, indications of where certain relationships might go or where whomever is being interviewed think they might go.
So saying this now: unless it comes from the hat man himself, don't get too caught up in whatever is said. It's all fun and speculation.
Sorry for the long ramble. Hope this all makes sense.
See you all down the road.

Okay, you have given me permission, so these are thoughts so far. Sorry in advance, English is not my first language.
- Soul weapons & jedi philisophy. For wielder and the weapon to achive success, they need to be in perfect harmony. So, here comes "jedi" things - meditation, understanding, etc. So they can achieve anderstanding and trust with their wielder.
- When the wielder and the weapon are in harmony, they share mind space. Weapons live longer then others, so they have much more expirience, which they share through the mental bond with the wielder.
- Clones. I assume, you meant clone commanders to be "designated wielders". My two cents - when weapons found out, that clones, in fact, does have their own personality (souls?), they start to teach younger weapons how to achive harmony with someone, who is not your "soulmate". Like, getting in trusting relashionships before any serious battles.
- Stance was meant to be Caleb's wielder. They never actually got to fight together as a weapon and the wielder.
- Sith. I have an idea, that "sith" - are soul weapons, whom have chosen to fight without harmony, without their wielders soul. So, through their bond, they undermined their wielder's will and destroyed their soul. So, the wielder and weapon are one, but in twisted and cruel way. They gain a new name after that, because they are something new, built on suffering of the one, and cruelity of the other.
- Some examples. Nobody knew, that Palpatine was a wielder. And nobody knew, that he is actually controlled by his weapon "Sidious".
- And I think, that "Vader" is Padme, who's soul was destroyed by Anakin :>
OOOOOh this is fire 🔥🔥🔥
I really like the Sith aspect. And the plot twist of Padme (and corrupted Anakin) actually being Vader (!!!)
It could also totally play into Anakin's attachment to Padme being too strong that he couldn't let her go. Maybe she's badly injured and instead of accepting her death, he forcibly binds her soul to his, 'saving' her but corrupting them both into a new being: Vader.
Which leads to Kanan being very wary and reluctant to forge ANY kind of close bonds. Especially when he starts feeling things for Hera because WHAT IF he falls the same? What if he hurts her?? If the most powerful Soul Weapon could succumb, what hope did he have? BUT, as the story (and romance) progresses, he comes to learn there is a difference between love and attachment. And to realize his own strengths.

"The Goddess not so ordinary"
(Chapter 1)
A long time ago, the daughter of Zeus and Hera was born: Selena. She had dark hair and brown eyes. All the gods were gathered on Olympus to celebrate her birth. Together they gifted her a portion of their powers each. Well, they knew that the chance of the hero of the prophecy to turn against them was very big. They needed a savior. Everyone was happy, except for a specific person.
After Aphrodite, Éris was considered the most beautiful goddess, with her dark hair, white skin and light eyes. She looks exactly like another version of Snow White, but more cruel. Éris has the power to seduce people and manipulate their minds. She can't understand all this fascination towards the new baby.
I don't know what they see on that stupid baby - Eris thinks. She watches the other gods admiring the baby while it giggles at the center of Olympus.
- Well, I want to thank you all, especially Hades, for coming here to celebrate this special day.Selena will be a hope to us in the future. My daughter is very special. She will be the goddess of the moon, a light in the darkness - Zeus declares.
- Well, even though we have our problems, Selena is still my niece. And, for the first time, I can agree with you brother. There is something about her that connects me with - Hades says.
- She may have been born just now, but I already want to protect her with my life - Ilithia says.
- Selena is so chubby and cute! She may make mistakes in the future, but will neve be swayed to the dark side or fight us. I can see that her love is more powerful than anything - Aphrodite completes.
- Are you guys fucking serious?! - Eris yells.
Everyone is looking confused at Eris now. The only ones who didn' t like the tone of her voice were the big three, Hera, Ilithia and Athena.
- Language Eris! I won't accept this behavior during your sister's birth - Zeus yells furious.
- What is so damn special about her? Have you ever thought that, just maybe, we are making a mistake here? Giving our powers to someone that could easily hurt us. I'm telling you guys! This disgusting creature is dangerous! - Eris says pointing to "the thing" , who is also looking at her confused.
- How dare you say that, witch? First of all, Selena is not disgusting much less a creature. What is the problem saying baby? She is just a baby! And second, don't you ever try anything with her or I promise you Eris, that Tartarus will look like a paradise to what I would do to you - Ilithia says angry.
- Silence! - Zeus orders
- No, I won't! You are all fools! I'm the only one here who isn't blind. Just don't run after me apologizing when everything goes to Hell. It'll be already too late - Eris says while standing up from her throne and walking away.
Everyone was shocked by Eris' reaction. Usually she can control herself. They are worried about her outburst and wondering what may have caused it.
- That was an awesome meeting! - Hephaestus says happy.
- Indeed it was! - Ares laughs
- Now, I think the underworld doesn't seem so bad after all - Hades contemplates while the others were staring at them, with not so much friendly faces.
Eris

Okay so I just has the most fun brain vacation ever thinking about the Percy Jackson demigods watching Disney's Hercules. I love Hercules, not gonna lie, but it's... less than accurate. No interpretation of the myths are 100% accurate, including Percy Jackson. It was funny because these universes are just so unmeshable.
Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Hazel, Nico, Jason, Thalia, Leo, Will, Calypso, Reyna, Piper, Apollo, and Meg are piled in Percy's living room watching this
All of them are just quiet and watching (slightly confused) until they figure out that the pink lady is supposed to be Hera. Then everyone goes BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! so loud Percy's mom comes in to check on them. Obviously Meg doesn't know Hera, but she's gonna boo anyway bc why wouldn't she.
Nobody can keep a straight face when they realize that the blue dweeb is supposed to be Hermes, especially not Apollo. And do I even need to tell you how they react to Dionysius's design?
Nico continually mutters throughout the Underworld scenes. "The Underworld doesn't look like that. What place is that supposed to be? Why Charon rowing Hades across the Styx, and why is he just a skeleton? Who are these two demony dudes? Cerebrus is a lot cuter than that. Etc. Etc. Etc." Eventually everyone just tunes him out.
Grover makes some comment about Penelope the donkey and how nice Hercules is for stepping in for her
Annabeth is also making observations and corrections throughout the movie, and they also tune her out for the most part. We got two constant commentaries going on
Thalia starts laughing SO HARD when Zeus's statue comes to life and says endearing things to Hercules and does not stop until Hercules leaves the temple bc she can't actually imagine her father saying these things to anyone. Apollo tries so hard to not laugh and fails, and Jason just sits there with his poker face
Hercules: If you're my father, then that would make me a...
Everyone in the room: A demigod.
Zeus: A god.
Everyone: ?????
Grover sees Phil and is like "Satyrs aren't that sort do I look that short?"
Everybody cracks up at Phil's impersonation of Zeus reading a bedtime story
Piper and Jason both go "Poor Achelous he's getting misrepresented he's not mean he's just sad."
Meg considers herself superior to movie Meg, but pretty much everyone likes movie Meg
Percy is far too excited during the fight with the hydra. Like he has the most dramatic reactions and everyone else is just going "wtf Percy" I haven't decided if he's rooting for the Hydra or for Hercules
Nico has finally accepted that this is just a person they decided to name Hades and has no actual resemblance to his father
Everyone yells at Hercules for giving up his strength. Then Leo starts teasing Piper about not encouraging him to do it bc it's for Meg and love and stuff and she smacks him
Everyone is extremely confused about why the Titans are under the ocean and why Hades is releasing them. Piper goes, "No don't set them free you idiot!" to which Leo says, "Why, does he have a crush on them?" and earns himself an exasperated sigh and an eye roll
Everyone laughs when the Titans are unleashed bc I mean they are moving mounds of element and don't fit any Titan at all
They've just recovered when Leo goes, "FrEeEEeeEze zuEeS" and Reyna has to pause the movie so they can laugh and not miss stuff
Nobody is happy when the pillar smushes Meg
Nico wants to know where this is that Meg is bc it doesn't look at all like Asphodel
Nobody understands how Hercules got regodded
Hercules's homecoming scene is completely drowned out by boos for Hera
However, they do catch, "I'd like to stay on earth with Meg" which gets everything from "ew why" (Meg) to "awww" (Grover) to "That's not how it went" (Annabeth) to "He did a Percy!" (Will)
Reyna, Leo, Hazel, Jason, and Meg require him to explain because whAt Percy rejected immortality?
The end. It was fun. Definitely not gonna watch it again with Annabeth or Nico, but maybe without them :)

Ahsoka trailer is so epic!
It's so cool and amazing and they fully remade the final scene in rebels in live action and it's amazing!
Love the bit about Sabine's hair cut, honestly her hair is always amazing.
The bad guys are super cool and that one witch lady, I hope we get lots of nightsister/lightsister stuff cause space witches fuck yeah!
I wanna see Ahsoka do some space magic tbh, and the lightsaber droid guy is here too so the padawans could show up, give me live action Gungi you cowards!
Also could that one inquisitor maybe be Barriss? If so, no, I want Ahsoka to find Barriss just chilling living her best life as a healer in a small village, completely reformed and going to therapy and just thriving, and then she drags Ahsoka off to therapy too cause she needs it, we all know she needs it, actually, Sabine and Hera need it too.
I'm also gonna insert Kaeden into the story as Ahsoka's wife/team medic, I don't care what tales of the jedi said, the only part of it I accept about Ahsoka is the first episode cause it's so Ahsoka to tame a giant murder kitty by being a cute lil baby.
Ahsoka novel is superior fucking fight me! You will lose.
I also don't want it to go Sabine x Ezra, I kinda want them to find him also chilling with his purgil buddies and his boyfriend, I just think Sabine and Ezra work better as space siblings, cause then it's more angsty cause Sabine is trying to find her lil bro and bring him back home after she feels like she failed him.
This show is gonna be so epic I'm so excited!
I am not apologizing for the person I will become on August 23rd.

Rebels Rewatch: "Homecoming"
Hera's daddy issues, and lots of fanservice for TCW fans.
Oh hey, one of my husband's favorite episodes!
Three guesses as to why.
Yep it's because of the Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier.
Anyway, the need for such a thing is demonstrated right with this opening scene, with an ill-fated A-wing getting blown up as it tries to dock.
The A-wings get a raw deal in this show, seems like any time they need a fighter to blow up they do an A-wing.
:(
You know by now Hera's started to get to know the pilots under her command, so every loss is a little bit more personal now.
Kanan being silently supportive as Hera goes to call home.
Cham appears and cue TCW fans freaking out.
Not sure why we forwent the fanfare this episode, I don't think the circumstances are quite serious enough for it.
Kanan acting all cutely nervous to be meeting Hera's father kjhkjds.
And him getting everyone's names wrong lol, look at their faces. They're all just like, "Dad. Dad, that's not my name."
Numa introduced and though I have only seen the episode where she appears once I understand TCW fandom's base instinct to sob uncontrollably at how big she's gotten.
Cham being all, "NO I won't let you have this carrier I have to BLOW IT UP as a SYMBOL of RYLOTH RESISTANCE!" is absolutely annoying, Sato and Hera are saints for putting up with it.
I love the immediate cut to Ezra helping Hera tune Chopper up, implying he did his whole "follow you out of concern" routine and got invited to stay. :)
This is becoming a familiar sight isn't it? Ezra's role as heart of the team, peacemaker, counselor, and "bridge" is particularly emphasized this season. Not surprising, we collect most of our finale-important assets and allies this season.
Hngh that vulnerable little, "More important than family?" Fandom sometimes like to portray Mira and Ephraim as workaholics who had no time for Ezra between their broadcasts and resistance but this little line here, that Ezra would be so quietly horrified at the idea of rebellion being more important than one's own family, suggests otherwise.
Also! "Well, there's nothing more important to me." Throw that shade baby boy, love you for it.
Hhhmgngnll shut uuuuuuuuup Cham. When Ezra was preoccupied with concern over his homeworld he wasn't nearly so obnoxious. And, you know, actually accepted that other people and other worlds need help too.
Hera slipping back into her Rylothi accent when talking to her father. <3
Kanan implying his grandmaster Mace Windu talked to him about Clone Wars adventures. <3
Hera's absolutely sour sulk face. XD
This whole scene really, Gobi teasing Hera about "your Jedi", Kanan gushing about Cham, Hera cutting her father off with the doors twice.
It has all the vibes of "surly adult daughter reluctantly visiting estranged home to show off the grandkids and being annoyed that husband and dad get along so well".
Kanan's fake accent here is kind of amazing.
Hera's devotion to authenticity dislodges and reveals the supply of grenades in Numa's sack. Honestly, Cham reminds me a little bit of Saw with how obsessive he is about his own personal cause. He and Saw are both fighting for a good reason, true, but their attachments--Cham to Ryloth's freedom in particular, Saw to being right about the Death Star stopping the Empire from inflicting more loss at all costs--have blinded them, made them single-minded and selfish, hostile to others and uncaring about their plight.
Ezra, on the other hand, though he's always very worried for his world, his people, still is able to put them aside in order to do things for the wider cause, still able to access his compassion for people outside of his immediate circle.
(This would take a brief backslide in Season 3 after Malachor but come back with internal character development at the beginning of Season 4.)
Lol I knew as soon as that mouse droid got trapped that it would be used later.
Synchronized Force Push FTW.
And I love this moment where they throw each other forward, it's so awesome. Been a while since we've heard the Main Titles theme used to denote heroism too.
Ezra bouncing excitedly once he pulls off the Mind Trick, like Kanan knew he could aww.
Hera's double-take lol.
"I must destroy this ship for Ryloth!" Oh take a chill pill.
This is another case of, "Wow, that's a fast turnaround." but it's way less egregious than Ketsu's turn, since there are multiple other voices chiming in in support of Hera after her speech and all Cham does is take a step back and let Hera have the floor, he doesn't actually help until later.
Sounds like a muted version of the TIE Fighter Attack track here.
Right, so, this moment is touching and all but pulling harder on the yoke wouldn't actually do anything, this is orbit not atmosphere.
Imperial theme here, and then a snippet of "Shenanigans".
Ezra has an idea! Bet Sabine loves it because it involves blowing stuff up lol.
Love the teamwork here with this moment.
Eyyyyy everyone wins! The Rebels get the carrier, Cham gets his symbolic firey ship explosion of justice, way to go Ezra, that was a good idea, nice "bridging".
Hugs! <3
An almost Stargate-esque cue here (no surprise, Kiner worked on Stargate SG-1) which... it's not Hera's theme I don't think, at least I can't find another occurrence in "Wings of the Master". Cham's maybe? It definitely sounds like a leitmotif.
Aaaaaand a nice moneyshot of our spacefamily.
Another quality Hera-focused episode, expanding on her backstory without contradicting what we already knew. (Which I've already talked about was a bit of a problem with Sabine and "Blood Sisters".) Hera doesn't really develop much but then, again, she never really needed to. Still nice to see her reconcile with her father.
Another variation on the Friendship Fetch Quest--though Cham reappears later he's not a crucial asset to the finale like the other allies we gain this season, and once more the most important gain this episode is a ship. That Quasar carrier is going become a familiar marker and staple of the Phoenix Cell and we're going to get very used to seeing it in establishing shots... which makes the great big hero moment in "Zero Hour" it gets hurt a LOT more.
Honestly it's worth watching just for how seamlessly synchronized Kanan and Ezra are getting in combat. :)

MY THOUGHTS ON AHSOKA- Part 3 "Time to Fly"
My first thought: it was much better than the first 2. Altho, I wish it had been a tad longer, even if the length is somewhat consistent with the Mandoverse shows.
As a Rebels fan, I feel fed. I finally got to see 1 character out of the 4 I want to see, so there's hope that soon I'll see the rest. Right, Filoni? RIGHT?!!
Hopes aside, let's get to the details of this episode.
I loved Sabine's training session, both with Huyang and Ahsoka. It reminded me a lot of The Trials of the Darksaber. The constant callbacks are impossible not to have them. And Huyang, please!! 🤣
Also, I loved the music during that scene (and throughout the whole episode). Well, is Kevin Kiner, what else could I have expected but greatness?
Honestly, I knew that the meeting with the senators and Mon Mothma was going to go as exactly as it went. I knew Hamato Xiono was going to be that jerk, and the rest of the senators wouldn't be any better. What I did love was Mon asking for Jacen (!!! which gave me hope to see him soon) and joking about the chaos the kid and Chopper surely were causing. My headcanon is that Mon is just remembering their shenanigans in Yavin 4 or Hoth or whatever else Hera has been stationed since then.
And I'm glad that they pointed out that even Hera believed Ezra is dead, she still looked for him. As I said in my review last week, I think Hera made herself believe that, otherwise she couldn't have lived her life, and raise Jacen and fight in the rebellion and now help with the new republic. The uncertainty of someone's disappearance is much harder to bear than their death.
Oh my gosh! The scream I let out when Jacen appeared!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭😭 He's so precious!!! With his green hair and saying Aunt Sabine (that means he calls Uncles Zeb and Alex/Sasha/Kallus, right?) and wanting to be a jedi just like his dad was (Would have been too much to name Kanan, just once??!!) Anyway... we got live-action Jacen!!!!!!
I love the conversation about the force between Ahsoka and Sabine. It put to rest some of my doubts about the whole Sabine being Ahsoka's padawan thing. How they explained it is pretty much how I think the Force works, so it felt good to have it explicitly confirmed in canon. And like it has been said, just talent isn't enough, just like in real life. Some people have a natural talent for an art or anything really, and if they cultivate it, then they'll excel at it. But that doesn't mean that other people less talented cannot reach the same level of excellence; they just need to work harder to get there.
And the opposite is also true. If a talented person doesn't work on their talent, it can become stagnant or even lose the ability altogether. With the Jedi, we've seen it with many Order 66 survivors. Obi-Wan, Kanan, Cere, Cal, Grogu, etc., they cut themselves from the Force either on purpose or as a trauma response, and all had to work to gain the control of his powers back.
Also, I think seeing the Force this way, it recognizes the different religions and presentation of the Force throughout the galaxy. People like Sabine or Chirrut Imwe or even Han Solo, or entire species like the Lasat or Chiss that for whatever reason the Force works different for them.
About the comment about the standards that Jedi had to accept younglings in the Order, I mean, I get it. The jedi couldn't accept everyone. They had to focus on those who had better chances to keep up with the training. Not just that, those were also at a greater risk to misuse the Force if they managed to gain some control over it on their own or under bad influences.
Huyang mentioning the disaster lineage was the best!!
The dog fight was great. Marrok finally spoke, and as expected, the baddies in fighting couldn't be left out. And I love that when Ahsoka and Sabine started to work together is when they shot down the fighters. And Ahsoka going outside in a space suit felt taken out of an episode of TCW. Really cool!
PURRGIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have Purrgil!!!!!!!!!!!! I love those space whales/squids things so much. My only complaint is that they should've destroyed at least one of the fighters. I mean, aren't the Purrgils famous for destroying ships that come in contact with? I'm just saying!
Like I said in the beginning, I love this episode, and it has my hyped for what will come next! 👉👈 Is it Tuesday yet? 🥺

Ahsoka Show Episode 1 - Spoilers/Thoughts
I have several important thoughts that I will be giving their own posts, but below is a rundown of my thoughts watching the first episode of Ahsoka last night.
As a background for my thoughts on the show going forward: Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters (aside from the Bad Batch). Her and Obi-Wan, equal and forever embedded in my heart. Her journey as Anakin's padawan, the lessons she learns throughout the Clone Wars, her strength in choosing her own path and figuring out who she wanted to be and what she stood for, her consistent pursuit of the light and truth and justice, but from a caring, empathetic, and compassionate heart, are traits that I always look to as inspiration. (My tagline Daughter of Light comes from a pin design of Ahsoka and Morai that the incredible Pinbutlersco created). I have enjoyed Rosario's portrayal of her in live action so far, and have been both eagerly hoping for and also extremely nervous about this show. I don't think there's anything that could ruin her character, but it is nerve-wracking to have a beloved fan favorite in live action when she has never been showcased there in the extent of what she is normally capable of in animation. Plus, the live action shows have been hit or miss lately except for Andor, and my hopes have been lower since Mando season 3 came out. I think I've accepted at this point that animation has a stronger pull on me than live action does at the moment, so that of course will inform some of my reactions.
As for the Rebels characters, I love them a lot. I just rewatched some of the essential episodes and was crying in almost every single one. They just tug on your heartstrings as a little found family almost immediately, along with how essential they are to the rebellion and the ways that the show explores the Force, familial and emotional bonds, and inner struggles. That said, Rebels is not my favorite Star Wars show, and therefore my understanding of Hera, Sabine, Ezra, and even Thrawn, is not as in depth or as emotionally entangled as Ahsoka or other characters. Therefore, if you want to take my opinions on them with a grain of salt, please do so ;).
And of course all of this is simply my personal opinion and reaction to watching the show as it comes out! I don't know yet if I'll end up doing any heavy analyses like I do for TBB but we shall see :)
Alright, all of that out of the way...let's see how the first episode turned out! (Episode 2 will be a separate post bc this is hella long already and you are a gem if you've read this far! <3)
SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT! DO NOT SCROLL IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE EPISODE YET! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
That opening crawl is super cool, and it's not a Star Wars opening without a good pan over an amazing ship out in space.
*sigh* I really don't want to be negative right off the bat, but these New Republic uniforms 💀 come on guys. It's one thing to try and show that the NR doesn't have a lot of resources/is brand new, but you could at least make them look lived in for the universe. It seems like this is the main spot where the length of the budget for costumes was apparently the opposite of a CVS receipt. Idk. Not a great look. And the ranking buttons 😭
Baylon and Shin showing up to free Morgan was obvious but still very cool to see them get the best of everyone on the ship. Baylon already has his hallway moment and we barely know them. Also RIP to Captain Hayle, he had the right idea to not trust them, maybe just not the right idea to go out and meet them.
Interesting that Hayle calls them Imperial "trash". We saw this in Mando season 3 with Dr. Pershing too...how the reintegration of imperial-aligned people back into society certainly wasn't helped by the prejudices of those on the "right" side. No matter how right or righteous you or your cause is, treating others with the same evil you claimed to be fighting against is never okay.
Also also, I still love those ridiculous elongated egg helmets of the Rebellion and the New Republic.
There's a lot of nice little touches, like the burn mark on a guy's thigh from a lightsaber wound or the lock to Morgan's cell spinning as Baylon uses the force to open it.
I immediately thought of the Mortis gods when Ahsoka steps into the temple and begins to unlock the pillars, with the figures and the map etched on the wall. I also appreciate that Dave let this scene take time to play out. Yes also Indiana Jones yes also Kurosawa yes also Treasure Planet.
Capes on assassin droids. Spooky. And did they sound slightly like Kylo Ren's modulated voice? Lol. And Ahsoka's "ahh shit" face when she realizes they're about to set off an explosion is pretty great.
HUYANG! HUYANG! HUYANG!!!! He's BEAUTIFULLLLL. I seriously can't believe how good he looks! It's also not a Star Wars show without a snarky droid keeping everyone in line, (or attempting to) and surprisingly it's not just Chopper. New fave for sure. David Tennant the man you are.
"Let's just say I didn't follow standard Jedi protocol"
I have to admit that I was hesitant about MEW for Hera but I'm liking her so far (costuming, not as much. The contacts and makeup and length of her lekku are throwing me a bit). I was surprised that she assumed Thrawn died in the battle of Lothal.
Ryder Azadi!!! and Jai Kell! So cool to see them. "Get out there and say something." "What?!"
Love the badass entrance for Sabine. The sass in this show is top notch. Also the blend of sound effects and soundtrack is really good, especially in these scenes.
NEED. LOTHCAT. NOW *grabby hands*
Unfortunately the recording of Ezra didn't do much for me. He looked pretty awkward and I would like to see how Eman portrays him in a live scene. I think again the costuming felt off rather than lived in/formed to the person wearing it.
OKAY WHOA HOLD UP NOW. Morgan is a nightsister??? A survivor? That's a rare rare thing. It will be interesting to see where Dave is going with this.
All of Ezra's helmet acquisitions strewn around the tower.
I'll be saying it more times than this, but Natasha is impeccable as Sabine. Both this current iteration of Sabine, where she is mourning and isolating herself, as well as channeling all the badass, artistic, creative, loyal, caring, snarky, cut to the chase versions of her from Rebels.
Natasha and Rosario convey SO MUCH in their silent glances to each other before getting down to business.
I kind of love the domestic intimacy of Ahsoka throwing her cloak over her bunk and grabbing a mug of tea before they sit down. Like they've done this a million times before.
I will comment on the "Master" "I should have made a good Jedi" "force sensitive Sabine?" track in episode 2.
I knew that map was doomed the second Sabine absconded with it lol.
The little "purrup" from the lothcat as it jumps off the table 😻
LOL Ahsoka being so annoyed at being in the Master position instead of being the difficult apprentice herself. Also the obvious guilt she still carries :/ "Sometimes the right reasons still have the wrong consequences." Oooof.
Not the cat signaling the presence of intruders
Again, Sabine is badass and incredible. Her athleticism and Mandalorian training is showing through. But girl maybe put on some armor??
Okay, don't take my tone the wrong way here (there will be a separate post about this): I HATEDDDDDDD the lightsaber stab. Hate hate hate. I swear they have got to STOP having people survive lightsaber stabs to the gut area. Just no. Pick any other body part to wound/end a fight with. Qui-Gon and Satine are rolling over in their graves 💀
Finally, I want to LIVE inside those credits ❤️ ❤️ The typography and design and colors are beautifulllll. And the score is of course stunning.
Overall, really great intro, it's amazing to see these characters in live action. A few qualms but I'm looking forward to where this is going.
