two nights in a row gripping ice cubes like i'm 14 this is fucking pathetic

#i feel like my bones are filled with concrete #i spent the day doing all the things i've been putting off #emails to orthodontist and dentist and accountant #found a gp to hopefully get a mental health plan set up with #and went searching for a psych #but fuck me that's been less that fruitful #it feels like a waste of time and energy and money #as soon as you set suicidal ideation as an issue the pool of psychs goes from 1251 to 152 #and adding queer filters to that?#psychology today says go die fag #and of those how many do you reckon is eligible for the medicare rebate?#because i've emailed 4 and of those i think maybe 1 will be eligible #BUT!#they cost so much that even WITH the rebate I'd be paying $130 for a 50 minute session #it's just a waste of money #i could see a therapist every day and still see no improvement #medicare offers a rebate for 10 sessions IF i'm lucky #so that's $1300 for 50 minutes a month #i judt can't see how that's going to do anyone any good #alternatively i can sit down with rika and get my will sorted and that money can go somewhere useful #that math isn't right #it'd be $1800 for 50 minutes a month #even more wasteful #i think i'm better off finding a comfortable and private place to decay #mum might be mental but maybe she was right when she told me i should just kill myself when i was 14 #i've been inhaling smoke for so long

Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is how everyone thought Egon had gone insane. What Happened that made them think that. They've fought a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmellow Man TWICE (counting the 2009 video game because iirc it's canon? Correct me if I'm wrong), fought an interdimensional god, fought a blood thirsty ruler that killed thousands and was hated by all that was trapped in a painting (and managed to get in to beat him by making THE STATUE OF LIBERTY start walking down the street with slime that reacted purely based on vibes), found an underground abandoned transit system full of the moodslime, had a bathtub try to eat Dana and her baby, fought a giant murderous black widow lady, fought the fisherman ghost who turned an entire hotel floor into the bottom of a ocean, and that's not even mentioning them getting trapped on an island that randomly raised up from underwater that had been abandoned for decades created by Ivor Shandor who worshipped Gozer. So what did he do or say that made everyone else think he'd gone insane?? All I can think is maybe he was acting strange / eratic before, but he's always been like that to some degree.

I don't know. It's something that I've been thinking about. The correct answer is 'it's not that deep and they needed a reason that the others weren't together anymore and weren't aware of Egons death or know what was going on,' but also. What Was He Saying that prompted everyone, including Ray, to think he lost his mind when he'd been right almost every time before that.

I'm genuinely so curious as to what he was up to before this. What was he doing. What insane idea was working on prior to this or was he even working on anything at all??

Also want to clarify this post isn't negative 😭 I really love the newer movies and their lore / the newer storyline / characters, I just like thinking about small stupid things like this. Gives me something to think about / speculate about / figure out an answer to.

The language part (ie the Main Actual Game) of Chants of Sennaar is very fun don't get me wrong - figuring out when a radical means person, or signifies a verb, etc etc - but the number system is absolutely fascinating

#like it's base 10; this is a language game not a maths one #but the way the numbers are written is like. this would make more sense with images but I'm in the tags now #take the number 1342. that's 1x1000 3x100 4x10 2x1 that's how we write it #instead of place columns this system uses quadrants #there is a central thick line. bottom right is units; bottom left tens; top right 100s; top left 1000s #this is a fun and compact way to write a four digit number!#but what about a 5 digit one? 6? bigger?#I don't think the game needs numbers that big but I'm going to follow this train of thought to a conclusion - just use another line+quadran #fairly normal idea- run out of space on your first one? add a second!#but where it gets fun is that means; putting it back into base 10 numerals and keeping the digit separation the same; a long number might b #grouped like: 1 4637 3427 #and if you are used to the western way of grouping digits that looks weird! Did they fucking age Asajj up from Legends to Canon/TCW for her to flirt with Obi-Wan and date Quinlan because I'm losing it over this

For further context some other Star Wars characters' ages (canon for most, Legends for Aayla and Quinlan because they don't have a canon birth year)

Ok, so get this: she was younger than Padmé, Aayla and maybe even Anakin originally, but they aged her up 7-11 years to get her with Quinlan and Obi-Wan. Oh. While this was most likely not an intentional decision it still really disappoints me because imo she works so much better in the younger age group

Btw, this means that in Legends by the start of the Clone Wars she was 17-21, what the fuck. And by the end of it she would be 20-24. Incredibly fucked up I think
