Hm whatever you do don’t think ab Ford and Stan as kids don’t think ab Ford being one of the only people in Stanley’s life who always believed in him and believed that he was smart and valued him as a person only for him to start looking at Stan the way everybody else did after the science project incident looking at him in a way that never failed to remind Stan of their father openly regarding him as a selfish stupid failure don’t think about Ford turning away from the window as the start of Stan really beginning to believe those things about himself!!

the thing you gotta bear in mind about Sense and Sensibility is that they're all super young. Marianne is 17, Elinor 19, Lucy is 23, Willoughby 25, and Edward (despite the old man energy) is only 24!
It's basically all young adult friend group drama
And then Colonel Brandon is...also there

this is a Princes in the Tower and Edward of Lancaster stan account btw
#I do not want to hear one word against Edward of Lancaster#not a single one#least of all if you're a yorkist stan who thinks that edmund of rutland's death in battle at 17 by his father's enemies is a tragedy#while simultaneously thinking that edward of lancaster's death in battle at the same age by HIS father's enemies is a cause of celebration#deeply embarrassing and unserious behaviour#and where to even start with how the majority of self-declared 'Yorkists' treat the Princes in the Tower 🤡#I've truly never seen anything like it#first they try to vilify two children (including a literal 9-year-old) for being 'Woodvilles'#which in their minds is synonymous to greed/duplicity/ambition/unworthiness aka how they view the Princes' mother#then they try to deny that their vaunted Richard III murdered them even though they're perfectly willing to believe John murdered Arthur#then they try to argue that Richard III was just 'a man of his times' and downplay his actions even though his usurpation and deposition#of his pre-teen nephews absolutely broke all parameters of politically and personally acceptable behaviour in medieval England#then they try to argue that ACTUALLY the Princes don't matter and we shouldn't spend so much time talking about them#(says the person who spends all their time trying to convince people on the internet that Richard didn't kill them)#then they try to argue that finding out what happened to the Princes shouldn't affect our reading of Richard III and won't change how we#view his reign#even though it absolutely affected how contemporaries viewed him and was what provoked opposition to his rule#like. what is happening here. where is this one-sided beef against a long-dead 12-year-old and 9-year-old coming from?#are you okay?

i think its some of damiens responsiblity to think what kinda relationship he cultivaded with his fans. and why is centering his need for explaning, defending and further protecting his self/image is his knee jerk reaction. unless you do those things a social media break is just another way of image management. plus it wont feel better when you come back and you are still centering your image which causes you too act defensive/childish. you cant support things thru acts of fear and nervousness and not expact them to crumble! i know people joked abour his virtue signalling in the past, and they are jokes, but its a curious thing people notice that around him enough to point that out. i hope he can actually look into that part of himself with a more honest critical lense.also these twitch stream where he wants this magicaly ''positive'' enviroment where people can ''escape'' is just unrealistic at best. this is a livestream where people rush on each other to talk to you. its by nature feeding into these things im afraidi positivity is not the warm blanket you think it is, its more of a trap lol

S3 LOSERS ROUND 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTE: Though there are significant canonically gay characters in the supporting cast and a lot of homoerotic imagery and subtext, Kakegurui is not a yuri. It contains fanservice and sexual reference and depictions of problem gambling, dehumanisation and bloody violence, including trauma to the eyes and fingernails. To Die in June uses the aesthetics of Japanese imperialism at times, and depicts war, death, and misogyny, as well as having some sexual content.

The thing is about the idea that James changed even if he hexed Snape behind Lily’s back is that I agree we’re supposed to accept he changed despite this. But I don’t accept it. James is Head Boy in 7th year. James has power and authority and a direct line to the staff as a result. In short, he has the means and the connections to find a way to de-escalate. He has means of self defence that don’t involve violence. The fact that it is his victim of the previous 6 years who is now fighting back against him makes it *worse* that he retaliates instead of de-escalating. I have to pretend JKR didn’t make him Head Boy to make it work in my head (to be fair, I think it’s genuinely possible that she retroactively changed this. It’s never mentioned again after the first book and you’d think Remus would bring it up to defend him in the fifth book)
"I have to pretend that the contents of this book is entirely different than what it is in order for my opinions to make sense to me." I hope that works out for you haha but it's got nothing to do with me, frankly. Like you can certainly choose to "not accept" it but I can also choose to not accept that Draco isn't a Hungarian ballerina who only speaks in riddles. I don't want to be rude but if your position is based on changing or ignoring the elements of canon that don't fit your preferred narrative I don't think we have a lot to discuss tbh.

Stan And Barry After The Failed Heist
So, we know how Marcus reacted to Johnny not showing up at the heist, but you know who’s reactions we didn’t see? Stan and Barry’s. Two people who were equally affected by Johnny’s actions. And what’s more, the bit of them that we see after the heist don’t seem mad at Johnny in the slightest, in fact, they willingly ignore Marcus in order to continue watching Johnny’s performance, supporting him from afar.
From the bits of their personalities we can see in the two movies, Stan and Barry are clearly very different from each other. In fact, personality wise at least, Stan acts more like Marcus, with a lot of energy and and an overall confidence. In comparison, Barry acts more like Johnny, both being quieter and seeming to keep their cards closer to their chests. They both act like Marcus’s brothers, but they clearly side with Johnny after the heist. Why?
Well, it’s strongly hinted that they’ve been there for most of Johnny’s life, judging by both their and his comfortability with each other. They are his uncles, even if they aren’t blood related. They watched him grow up. They’ve been there for him. So when Johnny wasn’t there at the end of the heist, I think their reactions (and Marcus’s) probably wouldn’t be betrayal, but worry. Had something happened? Was Johnny hurt? Had he already been arrested?
So, you know what I want? I want a scene of Marcus coming back from visitation early to a very worried Stan and Barry who were expecting the worst. I want to see the yelling match that would have immediately occurred the moment Barry found out what Marcus said to his nephew. I want to see Stan having to separate the two but clearly siding with Barry. I want to see Barry calling Johnny from the prison phone just to make sure he’s ok and that he knows that his uncles are in his corner and being told all about the talent competition. I want to see the two giving Marcus the silent treatment until he and Johnny reconcile. They have Johnny’s back no matter what.
They are his uncles and love him dearly. They were watching his performance and cheering him on even though he’s technically the reason they were currently in jail. Why? Because I think they came to the same conclusion: This was bound to happen eventually. They were gonna be caught one day. And Johnny is a kid. He deserves better than this. It’s not his fault.

Scrolling through the Nancy Wheeler tag is like a minefield. For every well thought out analysis or post celebrating the character and her complexities, there’s four half baked takes surrounding you fundamentally misunderstanding the character and grasping at straws to make her seem far worse then she is. Usually in some weird attempt to prop up a man (usually Steve).
And I’m not saying there isn’t valid things you could “criticize” Nancy for, she’s a teenage girl with trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms, she’s flawed and complex so of course she has traits that she could improve upon. However, the large majority are just a fundamental misunderstand of her character and arc, while lamenting about how she needs to apologize more or needs to narratively fail more, etc. Statements that could generally be applied to most characters, but people only seem to come down on Nancy for.

We need more young stan content out here.
And nah I ain't talking about 12 year old Stanley or 30 year old mullet Stan, I'm talking 17 year old, slicked back hair, acne riddled Stan pines.
Tumblr media
Yeah that one.
I am so happy mullet Stan is so popular because his fit slaps ngl and the angst is so potent I can't not respect it. But teenage Stan has so much potential it's driving me insane.
There is a line dividing the 17 years of relative happiness Stan had with Ford and the 10+ years of depression and crime he had on the streets, and teenage Stan uses that line as a goddamn jump rope.
Seriously, depending on how you look at it dude is either living his best life or is fighting for said life in the trenches of homelessness and poverty.
I see a lot of content regarding Stan on the streets but it only ever focuses on 30ish Stan in his later years of homelessness where he's already a hardened adult after years of dealing with this bullshit. But Stan didn't just drive away and then magically turn 30. There were times in those first few months after Stan got kicked out where he was in his car, trying to sleep, probably starving, while still being fundamentally a child.
Hell, compared to the 30ish age of mullet Stan and the 60+ year old con man he'd later become, teenage Stan is damn near a baby. There's a certain brightness about him, a sort of warm naive optimism that still clings to him because he's straight up just too young to know any better.
He's still fully convinced he's gonna make it rich and go back to his family in a few years. He still believes wholeheartedly that even if shit sucks right now, eventually everything is gonna be okay. It has to be. But it's not gonna be okay. It's not gonna be okay for a long time. And some parts are just never gonna be okay.
Seeing a happy and oblivious teenage Stan feels like watching a baby lamb walk into a slaughter house.
The next 10-something years are going to tear him apart limb from limb. In 40 years he's going to wake up on a boat during a bout of amnesia thinking he's in Columbian prison, or he's locked in the trunk of a car and about to drown, or his shoulder is on fire and his brother is gone, or it's the end of the world and everyone he ever dared to give a shit about is about to die in front of him and it's all his fault because he was too weak to stop it.
At some point, a young Stanley is going to get into his first true life or death fight. He doesn't even have to be involved with crime yet for it to happen. He's probably bruised and bleeding, with not nearly enough money to afford a doctor. He's sitting in the driver's seat of his El Diablo having a complete and utter break down because he almost died and suddenly everything is real.
Nothing is okay, absolutely nothing is going to be okay and whatever is left of his teenage innocence, naivety, and warmth dies in that car and it never comes back.
The next 10+ years are going to fundamentally change Stanley as a person and he's never going to be the same ever again. But teenage Stan doesn't know that, he's still a kid trying to sleep in the back of his car, ignoring hunger pangs and finding comfort in the half baked business ideas his mind cooks up because he doesn't understand how utterly done for he is.
12 year old Stanley I believe is so appealing because of his bright rambunctious spirit. He's still just a kid playing on the beach with his brother, but so was teenage Stan. I just wish the wholesomeness that comes with that and the subsequent hurt that follows as that spirit is broken over and over again by the world was explored more.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Does relativity falls Ford still wipe Stans memory's? And if so what is the aftermath?
Yes!! Ford still does erase Stan’s memory, I even did a drawing of it right here cause thinking about it hurts me soooo bad hehe
As for the aftermath, I have sooooo many thoughts
Stan still gets his memory back like in the show, however due to being 13 I like to think he didn’t come out completely unscathed. After all your mind is still growing at that age so i bet you ain’t gonna get out of a mind wipe without any side effects.
His mind quickly remembers everything he WANTS to remember or anything he considered important, however things Stan would rather forget or didn’t think were very important took longer to come back to him, if at all.
Here’s a quick doodle I did of Stan post series not remembering who his dad was for like 3 days because I thought of that randomly and it made me feel ill :)
Tumblr media
Stanley also begins to struggle in school, but like, 3 times worst before. Again, the memory wipe wasn’t very kind to him education wise, that stuff didn’t come back to him very easily. Stanford, who is easily the world most guilt ridden child, is dead set on making sure Stan can pass every grade with him, even if Stan has to cheat off his papers. Stan insists that Ford doesn’t have to go out of his way to help him but Ford won’t take no for an answer.
After Weirdmageddon the twins are attached at the hip and get really codependent on eachother and that doesn’t ease up as the years go on. Stanley feels more dumb the years go on but he feels happy that least he has his brother with him and Ford doesn’t treat him like an idiot. Stanford is constantly fretting over Stan, making sure he’s around if Stan has any memory lapses, or about to tackle someone like a rabid dog if they try fight Stan. It’s not the most healthy codependent relationship, but the two feel safe with each other and after all they’ve been through they can be a bit unhealthily codependent, as a treat <3
Filbrick still kicks Stanley out of the house when he’s 17, this time because he was furious at the fact Stanley wasn’t going to be able to graduate due to low grades and too many write ups. The main difference between the show here is that Stanford doesn’t even hesitate to walk out the door with Stanley, even when his dad tells him to go back inside. Ford almost lost his brother forever when he was a kid due to letting his father’s words bleed into his head, he refuses to ever let that happen again.
Stanley tearily calls Dipper and Mabel and tries to explain what happened before Stanford takes the phone and talks for Stan, explaining what happened and asking if the two could stay with them. Dipper and Mabel don’t even need to think about it, instantly fussing over the two as their voices overlap each others asking if the two are okay, if they need money, do they need to come get them, etc etc. Stanley insists that they’re fine and he’ll just take the 2-3 day drive to Oregon just like he did last summer when he got his permit.
The next morning their mother sneaks them into their old home and lets them take whatever they want and a wad of money she had hidden away, telling the two that she’s sorry but she was backed into a corner and didn’t know what else to do. Gave the boys a kiss on the cheek and ushered them out before their father caught on that they were there.
The drive is pretty quiet, the only disturbances being Ford asking Stan if he needs a break from driving to which Stan immediately turns down, and Stan guiltily saying that Ford didn’t have to leave with him to which Ford immediately shuts down that train of thought and says that where ever Stan goes, he’ll go.
When the two arrive at Gravity Falls Dipper and Mabel instantly squeeze the two to death, being nonstop worried ever since they got the call. Mabel helped the boys unpack while Dipper made a couple low threats into the phone and soon enough he had custody over the twins. (His blood boils when he thinks about how Filbrick didn’t even hesitate to give custody of Stanley, but fought about Stanford. Makes him happy that he never met the man in person.)
Stanley and Stanford finish off High School in Gravity Falls. Ford begins college courses online and Stan begins working at the Mystery Shack with Mabel and Anjelita, finding out he quite enjoyed theatrics and art, much to Mabel’s enjoyment.
I still want Stan and Ford to sail. Even if it’s just for a summer I want them to sail so bad. They deserve it.
I may put these boys through hell but I want them to be happy by the end of this that if they aren’t I think I would cry 💥
