it helps me to remember when i get sad about how annoyed lydia gets in s4 is that sheâs fourteen at that point so she is ACTIVELY going through puberty. and weâre all kind of annoyed with the world at that point, even the people we love.
that's very true. she's also known him for years at that point, and he can be uhh a lot. he can't get away with displaying his huge flaws as often as he used to, lydia doesn't allow it, and when he DOES get away with it, the episode ends with lydia disappointed and even outright mad at him. Midnight Scum in particular is so hard to watch, you can see her losing respect for him as the episode progresses and...then it ends. episode over. beetlejuice is horrible, what did we expect?
but yeah season 4 is. whoof man.
sure, you can chalk up part of it to teenage hormones making her more irritable, but i really do think she's just like, at her limit sometimes. i can't blame her, i too want to strangle him a lot of the time and i'm not even the one putting up with his shit, babysitting him or having to deal with the consequences of HIS actions.
this isn't Critter Sitters anymore, she is simply not having it and she won't make a cute little excuse for him "oh he makes me laugh and eats bugs hee hee"
season 4 lydia reacting at his jokes like đđ
she's probably heard that one a thousand times by now. beetlejuice is a static character; he doesn't change, he doesn't go through character development, he doesn't learn his lesson (outright refuses to) but lydia DOES change. and she will continue to change as she grows older. and i KNOW this is a sad theory but i can't help but think that, as she grows and moves forward, she's just...gonna leave him behind.
it'll be hard for her not to. not only is she starting to make her own life and will continue to get busier and busier and not having time to hang out with her ghoulish best friend...she's also maturing. something beetlejuice has never done, and seemingly never will. and as she grows more mature, those puns and pranks and hijinks will become less funny, and his lying, clinginess and refusal to grow will become more evident. season 4 has lydia expecting better of him and being let down, constantly. if it's exasperating for us imagine how it must be for her.
at what point does it become too much? how often has lydia sat and thought about this kind of thing? considering how intelligent and sensible she is for her age, probably more than a few times. this dead guy inadvertently saved this depressed little girl by becoming friends with her and giving her the confidence to be herself and make her own friends. does she know that though? beetlejuice does, he saw it when they showed him the reality in which lydia never meets him. but lydia has no idea (and he will never tell her) so sometimes i wonder if she's missing that key aspect of why he's so important in her life. it's possible she might've come to the same conclusion herself; but even then, these things can be hard to remember when you're having to, once more, clean up after him and the messes he gets them into because his chaotic impulses are always stronger than him. you can tell she's very tired of this. and she will become even more so as time passes.
best friends forever though.
...
...right?

Full paywalled version of Lando's interview with The Race
Lando Norris recently sat down with The Race's Scott Mitchell-Malm for an exclusive in-depth interview about his 2024 Formula 1 title bid, taking on Max Verstappen and how fans perceive him.
You can read Scott's take on how Lando presented himself on The Race website today, but here's their conversation in full:
The Race: How do you look back on the year so far? Purely from a numbers point of view, you'd surely have taken that at the start of the year. But in terms of how it's played out, is there any kind of sense that there was a bit more on the table, missed opportunities?
Lando Norris: ErrâŚfor sure. I think that's quite obvious. Not as many as people think. And I think people in general think it's been a lot worse than what it's been. I think a lot of people think we've been a lot quicker than we have been. So I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with it. But I think those times, itâs a compliment that people think that, because it shows how far we've come. And I'm proud that in those days, whether Singapore or Zandvoort, I've still been the one that's there and making the most of those opportunities when we have a car that's quick enough.Â
But there's clearly ones that we've definitely let things go away, which is Silverstone, Canada-ish â I wouldn't say completely. Maybe one or two others. But I think the other ones are the ones that people want to believe were bad for different reasons. Whether it was my starts, and those days when the starts have been âbadâ that everyone says, I've generally still been in the top three, four, five of starts. Even on those days. If you look at Barcelona, when I had a 'bad' start everyone says, the best starter in that race was Max. And I think I was like the third or fourth third best starter on the grid. It's just I happened to be next to the guy who got the best start.
The Race: Who wasn't the guy who ended up leading into Turn 1 anyway...
LN:Â He was the guy who had the seventh or eighth best start! The other one Iâd say was a bit more unlucky was Budapest, where my initial start was very good, a tiny, tiny bit too much wheelspin and a downgraded upshift, and that kind of cost me that. So I think it's been better than people have thought. There's definitely been some missed opportunities, that's a fact. But I'm very happy with my whole season. I still feel like I've got a lot out of it. Things have not just gone to plan. Even if you go back to Austria and things like that, a race that I could have been first or second, whichever way around you want to look at it, I ended up with zero points. There's been certain races which have gone away from us.Â
The fact that we're still there fighting, I'm pretty happy with the whole season that I had, because it's clear when things do go right, how amazing that they can be. It's been still a big learning year, even though it's my sixth year and all of this nonsense, I still have to learn how to drive the car in a better way, because I still don't understand it at times. How we have to drive our car has changed a good amount, and I still have to adapt to that. Some days it doesn't suit me, some days it does. So I think it's still been a very good year, and from the outside, I understand why people think it hasn't been. And I completely almost agree with it! But once you know reasons why, of different things, I'm still pretty proud of the season it's been so far.
The Race: There's a difference between how you imagine it being when you get a car that's quick enough to fight every weekend, and then obviously what it's really like. You've learned some things the hard way, so what's that actually been like?
LN:Â It's been good for me. Whether I'm racing the likes of Lewis a bit more, or Max is probably the best example of all of them...Charles, Carlos, George, to be honest, all the drivers who are up the front because they deserve to be. Thing is suddenly, when I'm racing them, I'm fighting them for a win. So not coming out and doing a perfect job against these drivers, mainly Max in this case, means I win a race or I don't win a race, and therefore it hurts a bit more and it feels like there's a bigger effect to it all.Â
There's more criticism or praise, whichever way around. You win, suddenly you have a lot more praise. You do one mistake, you suddenly have a lot more criticism. But I think both are good things, because people either want you to do well or they want to stand out because they want to be someone that criticises you even more. Both are compliments in ways, and I've enjoyed both of them.Â
But I've paid the price, more so in terms of a championship point of view, when Iâve not done things to the correct level. And I think there's so many things that have been great, and have been completely up to the standard that it needs to be. A couple of things have not been. And I paid the price for those situations, because I'm going up against, whether it's Red Bull or Mercedes or Ferrari, on top of being strong teams, great drivers. You get punished more at the top when things don't go right than you do when you're more midfield.
The Race: There's a quote from a few years ago about Lewis Hamilton only having to beat his team-mate, in the context of a dominant team. That's exactly not the situation that you've had this year. But in terms of execution, finding out how hard it is to make sure that every single qualifying session, every start, every judgment in the race with the team â what's that been like? Because I can imagine that idea that 'once I get a car that's quick enough, I'll do it'.Â
LN:Â First of all, I would never think that! For anyone who knows me, that's definitely not how I think. But I would say it's as tough as I've imagined because so many things can still easily go against you, even when you have the best car. Make one mistake in a Q3 lap, you're not on pole when you should have been. You don't have a perfect start when the guy who starts P2 does a perfect start, youâre P2 when you shouldn't have been.Â
There's been a couple when we were so dominant â like Zandvoort â it doesn't matter if you made the mistakes at the beginning. You can come back through and you can still dominate and easily win a race. But for the majority, when people think we've had the most dominant car ever, those positions [lost] have just been costly positions. Iâve been on pole by three thousandths or five thousandths or two hundredths, and those positions are positions that just stay for the rest of the race.Â
But I've always known that â itâs always just the harsh reality of when you're there, and actually you're living that situation, itâs tough to then always be positive for the next race and things like that, and know when things are going to get better. It's been a learning point, still for me, but even for the whole team, whether it's mechanics, because they feel a bit more pressure when we're leading a race compared to when we compared to when we were 10th, or the engineers because the last pole was split by three thousandths, or one hundredth of a second. Everyone wants to play a part in that, but also feels the pressure of it, including me. I think everyone's dealt with it very well.
The Race: We've seen with various drivers, whenever there's a clash with a popular driver, someone ends up getting pelted on social media. But I don't think I've seen a driver with such a negative narrative against them as Iâve seen with you this year...
LN: Yeah, I donât know why.
The Race: Youâve noticed it as well. How do you feel about that?
LN: I find itâŚI find it's a little bit weird, because I read all those things. I wouldn't say I'm affected by them, but I do think of them. Do I think it affects me negatively? No. Because I've actually been used to doing that for a while. I've learned how to read things and choose what I want to affect me and almost help me be better or choose what I just want to let slip away, and I just read it for the fact of reading.Â
Certain things Iâd say I don't understand how people have gotten that perception. And that's when I always just have to come back to the people who know me, know that this isn't the case. And I'm very happy just knowing that as a fact. Thereâs certain things when I'm like, people think my ego is too big or something, it couldn't be further from the truth - especially when I'm driving. Maybe sometimes I choose wrong words or something, and people somehow use that against me.
But I think there's more and more people in the world just either don't want to listen to the truth and sometimes I think when I say the truth or facts, people just don't want to agree with them, or they want to disagree and kind of prove me wrong. But I find it odd as I feel like I haven't changed. Maybe I have, in certain things. Definitely some things have changed. I definitely don't go around and joke and laugh as much as I used to, and I think people loved that and maybe don't like it as much now I don't do such a thing. But Iâve definitely noticed it, for whatever reason.Â
The Race: It's stuff as a driver, not just you as a person. You mentioned the idea youâve got a dominant car stuff but itâs also your championship credentials and stuff like that. Maybe some people just want to just stick the knife sometimes, in a way that I personally donât understand.
LN: Neither do I, but it's why like I always say, it doesn't affect me. I see it still as if I know I said something or I've done something wrong, I accept it. I've always been honest with when I've done a good job and done a bad job. So when I know I've done something wrong, or someone tells me I've done something wrong, I'll always accept it and acknowledge that in the right way. But when I know for a fact I haven't, and people kind of make things of it or turn it into something where I have, thereâs some kind of stuff I don't understand. Especially the amount of negative stuff I get nowadays, I almost want to say for no reason.Â
It puzzles me a little bit. Doesn't affect me in a good way or a bad way. People can have their own opinions. And I'm all up for people having their own opinions and supporting different drivers and not supporting me â I'm very happy about that. But turning things that are not true into what they think are facts is probably stuff that I don't understand as much. And it's confused me a little bit, but I don't think it affects me in a bad way. I do think of it because I'm an overthinker, and I think of all of those things, so I'll question myself about all of it. But I wouldn't say it affects how I go out and drive the next day all of a sudden, or anything like that, which is the main thing.Â
I think it's turned into being a bit of a part of⌠I donât have to read any of it, you know? So I can also not have social media, but I enjoy it still. It'll still affect me on days, but it's not like it affects how I go racing or anything else, so I don't mind. I just don't like when people have the wrong opinion about me. Because I don't mind people having different opinions, but stating incorrect things is probably the thing that I don't understand, and probably the thing that gets to me the most. But it doesn't affect my day to day life at all. And I'm very happy with the people I have around me, my group.
They're the people who are being more honest with me about when I'm doing well or when I'm not, or whether I'm being a dick, and when I'm not. I prefer people to tell me that, than not to tell me that. The reason I really don't care about what people say so much is because I know the people who actually most know me best and are most truthful about everything are just the people I have around me, and Iâll listen to them more than I'll ever listen to people on the outside.
The Race: One final thing as we sort of got side-tracked there: 18 months or so ago I interviewed you in Australia which basically turned into an opportunity to justify your new contract, because the team was in a bad place and there was a lot of noise. You always stuck to your guns. How vindicated do you feel by this season, and how excited are you for next year, because both titles have got to be the aim?
LN: That's very clear. We all as a team know that next year is the year, probably the first one since I've been in Formula 1, where I can go next year âWe are challenging for the titleâ. And we can say that now already. We've never been able to do it in the past. I'm very happy that I've stuck with the team that I believed in even when a lot of people didn't. I'm very happy that I just had that belief in the team. But also just for all of that to actually come true even when it was hard to believe at times. When we could take kind of two steps forward and then step back, and then catch up and then drop back.Â
There were times when I did question it for sure, on what's the best for my future and what do I want to do and those kinds of things. But for me to always return to the belief that the team around me, whether it was Andreas [Seidl] a few years ago when we took a step forward, for sure â but then Andrea [Stella], for me, has been the key to everything. And the fact we've been able to go from where we were to beating Red Bull, when not even 12 months ago they had the most dominant season...the fact that we're now beating them, we've been beating them almost since Miami-ish, and we've been on par with them since Miami, thatâs an incredible achievement.Â
I'm very happy that I've been part of it all. I'm happy that I stuck through the harder times when I easily could have picked an easier route out of it, could have gone to different teams and done all this other stuff. I feel like I've rewarded myself nicely for having the belief in the team, and I think the team understands that too - the journey that we've been on together - and I think they appreciate that, which probably makes me the happiest out of all of it.

Ooooh!
In which many many years have passed since Arthur succumbed to his wounds from Camlaan.
Many many years Merlin was alone as Camelot died before him and the world move on.
Many many years that Merlin spent grieving, then honing that into his magic, developing new spells that break the laws of magic and reality.
Many many years that it takes Merlin to perfect a spell to turn back the clock.
Many many years that pass by in the blink of an eye as he rewinds time itself.
Many many years, and yet no time at all, since Merlin has sped up the castle to Arthur's chamber.
Many many years, and yet no time at all, that has passed since Merlin stepped through those towards.
Moved to stand beside the bed.
Lay eyes upon his golden king, the reverent moment undamaged by the drool escaping his lips, the soft, utterly inelegant snores, the horrendously mussed up hair. Rather, made all the better by how utterly human, how utterly alive he is, how entirely real before him.
Oh so very many years since Merlin was able to reach out and touch, without the visage fading into obscurity like all the other half mad hallucinations.
Since Merlin could run his calloused fingers over that golden hair, trail down squished cheeks.
Since he got to watch Arthur's entire face scrunch tightly, like he only did when awaking after being truly, deeply asleep.
Since Arthur lolled his head a little to squint up at him blearily, with oh-so blue eyes Merlin had lost any hope of ever seeing open again.
Since he heard Arthur slur his name in a confused tone, voice still rough with sleep.
Merlin chokes down a hysterical, teary laugh, and Arthur looks more alarmed now, more awake.
"Merlin?" Voice still hushed.
"Forgive me, Sire. I seem to have forgotten your Royal breakfast." He breathes out, not wanting to pierce the reverent quiet, basking in speaking to his golden king once more.
"Is all well? Why have you woken me so early?"
"Not nearly early enough, Arthur. Not nearly early enough."
A far away gaze, snapping all at once back to Arthur when his hand wraps around his forearm. A blinding smile to his worried frown.
Oh how long its been since he felt his hands-
"What- Merlin, why are you crying, what has happened??"
"I-" A startled touch to his own cheek, coming away glistening wet. When had that happened? "I..." A sob wells in his throat.
Many many years of grief and loneliness and longing, all crashing into an astounding joy and relief.
Arthur makes a vaguely panicked noise, sitting up properly and turning to him, and Merlin cannot help but to find it funny despite himself. His golden king had never known what to do with himself when people started crying, and he was no exception to that rule.
He laughs. He thinks he does? He cries? He hiccups, he wheezes, he sobs, his limbs shake and he curves in, curves towards his king, one arm still held up in Arthur's grasp, fist clenching and shaking, really all of him is shaking.
Arthur's other hand clasps onto his shoulders and he chokes on a gasp at the warm touch, giving in to the mind numbingly strong urge to- to be closer, to hold him again, to curl small and tight, to hear and feel that brilliantly strong heart beat thundering along, so loud it's nearly deafening, and yet not loud enough.
His golden king flails, baffled and worried, sputtering out half questions and demands for explanations, and throughout it all, Merlin just laughs and cries at the joy welling up in him, at being so close to him, at feeling his warmth and life and the hesitantly comforting touch as he finally, gingerly, holds him back.
Many many years, and at last, at long long last.
"I've missed you so much, Arthur."

Uncaring of everyoneâs opinion, except yours.
Part 9!
prev. | Part 1
some additional notes for the people who are extra curious about what goes on in my head I guess, lmao
Iâm always unsure if some of the more subtle emotions and aspects of their relationship is making it through lol, cause I donât include a ton of inner thought bubbles. I mean, this is technically a pretty simple comic, so idk. case in point, Neigeâs genuine admiration for Arlo, who is very much âhimselfâ at all times regardless of what people think. Yeah, heâs pretty insecure, but only about specific thingsâand in general, he does what he wants. I think this is a quality that would be admired by someone who is essentially in the Hollywood industry lmao.
Arlo also isnât a very good liar, nor does he even attempt to be half the time. Heâs very genuine. Just because half the things he says are insults doesnât mean heâs not being honest, and in fact, heâs VERY nice to people who he wants to be nice to. Thereâs no effort to pretend for some sort of âreputationâ or something. He doesnât bother to change how he treats Neige while Vil is around, either. Itâs not even something that crossed his mind. (Which is VERY weird for Vil. Where has the Arlo he knows gone. What has happened to him.)
Iâm a huge fan of relationships that fill in some of the pieces the other person is missing, so the idea of Neige helping Arlo interact with people a little less harshly just by being around him is very appealing to me. Donât misunderstand, Neige doesnât want to change him at all!! Arlo just feels happier being with him, so heâs automatically a little softer and more willing to give people a chance. And on Neigeâs end, he actually goes the opposite route, and is willing to express himself negatively a bit more (which I very much view as something he struggles with. If youâre in the Hollywood industry, and you grew up poor, and itâs literally your income to support your family, youâre going to be on edge and try to keep up an image. Even if youâre genuinely a nice person, which he is, celebrities donât get treated like people most of the time!!!) I just love the idea of them helping each other. but to other people it looks like the otherâs personality is rubbing off on them lmao đ
oops I rambled more than I thought. just. I like relationship analysis guys. this isnât even half of my thoughts on their dynamic and why theyâd fall for each other đ help
#comic won the poll so of course I am here to deliver#is he glaring at me - vil#and then itâs the most mild expression of slight displeasure ever lmao#Vil really didnât say anything about Arloâs hair tho#he just said to fix it because he was literally ROLLING ON THE GROUND#twisted wonderland#disney twst#twst oc#twst original character#twst fanart#arlo wake oc#neige leblanche#twst neige#twst vil#vil schoenheit

Kinder Worlds
âSo,â Tony started as Nebula as carefully lined up her next shot. Theyâd played in silence thus far since Nebula had shown up out of the blue and demanded a game. âSomething wrong?â he asked. âYou normally donât just show up.â
âDo you think I can see this Terra?â she asked, instead of responding to his question. âYou spoke of âhamburgersâ I would like to try them.â
Tony considered her, then decided not to push. He grinned. âOh, we can try all sorts of things. Iâve got a photostatic veil if you want to go out in stealth modeââ Heâd told her the first time she showed up that she was fine, but she seemed to like âstealth modeâ. ââthough if you want to go as you are, thatâs fine.â Most people had gotten used to aliens, the few that hadnâtâRoss came to mindâTony could handle. âOr we can order in. Whatever you want.â
Nebula gave this her standard due consideration. âI would like to go out,â she decided. âAnd I will wear the veil. Stealth is imperative; I would prefer people to underestimate me.â She paused. âPerhaps we can visit your spider child. Or your wizard.â
Tony considered that. It was a Saturday, which meant no school. âPeter will definitely join,â he told her. âPicnic in Central Park with hamburgers with you? Yeah, thereâll be no keeping him away. Stephen⌠Hit or miss if heâll join.â
Stephen was, unfortunately, almost always busy with something, it could make it difficult to meet up with him, though Tony still thought that every opportunity was worth it. Especially after things had⌠developed between them in ways Tony would never have expected.
He pulled out his phone and sent out a text to âTeam Titanââor at least that was what Peter had named themâto invite them both.
From: Tony Stark
Picnic at Central Park! Nebulaâs here!
Iâll provide the foodâprepare for burgers.
He shifted so that he could take a selfie of the both of themâsomething Nebula put up with with a sighbefore sending that along as well.
From: Spiderling
Oh my word! Are we finally introducing Nebula to hamburgers?
Peter always had been quick on the uptake.
Iâll be there!
âThatâs Peter decided,â Tony said cheerfully. Who knows if weâll hear fromââ
From: Merlin
I would appreciate far more warning for something of this nature.
I am not at your beck and call.
Tony rolled his eyes. Picnics were always best when they were spontaneous, everyone knew that. Or at least every picnic heâd ever been on had been of the âyou know what, I want a picnicâ variety and the majority of them had been enjoyable.
Though there had been that time with the ant invasion⌠he shuddered. Not to be repeated.
And of course, a few had involved drinking and he honestly didnât remember them, but he was sure theyâd been great.
Alas, the difficulty of being sober, that wasnât an option anymore.
From: Tony Stark
Oh please. Not like I knew Nebula was coming.
Whereâs your spontaneity, Stephen?
âAll right,â Tony said, standing up. âLetâs get you set to go and then weâll go get us burgers and other delicious food so you can experience a proper Terran picnic.â
Nebula nodded, satisfied.
His phone dinged.
From: Merlin
I supposeâsince Nebula is presentâI can condescend to join you for a âpicnicâ.
Tony snorted.
From: Tony Stark
Please, donât pretend you donât like me and Peter. Weâre absolutely in your top five people.
From: Spiderling
Top four!
Can we get ice cream?
Tony glanced up at Nebula. âHow do you feel about ice cream on this spontaneous picnic?â
âI was partial to your âStark Raving Hazelnutsâ,â she told him seriously. âI would not mind if we were to indulge in some.â
Tony grinned at her. He still wasnât entirely certain whether she really liked Stark Raving Hazelnuts, or if it was because she felt that choosing Stark Raving Hazelnuts was a sign of loyaltyâand Nebula was nothing if not loyalâand refused to try anything else. âStark Raving Hazelnuts it is.â And he supposed he could pick up some Hunka Hulk of Burning Fudge for Stephenâs sake.
The traitor.
They got Nebula suited up in a photostatic mask and glove set before heading out. The drive from the compound to the city wasnât too long and Nebula spent most of the time factually relaying her adventures since the last time she had visited and texting with Stephen and Peter on his phone to finalize their plans.
They made several stops to gather the requisite food before Tony took them to Central Park.
Both Peter and Stephen were already there sitting on a blanket that Peter had brought, when he and Nebula arrived at the spot theyâd ended up agreeing to.
Peter proved his priorities by grabbing the bags of food and setting it on the blanket, plopping down and immediately starting to divvy up the food.Â
Tony rolled his eyes while Stephen stood, stepping close and pressing a quick kiss to Tonyâs lips. Nebula and Peter made a simultaneous disgusted noise as though he and Stephen had started making out in front of them. Tony considered flipping them off, but then decided it was probably not a good idea to set a bad example for Peter and the gesture would be lost on Nebula anyways.
He stepped away from Stephen and grinned up at his sort of, kind of boyfriend.
Stephen smiled back at him.
âFood,â Peter called out, interrupting the moment. âAnd Iâm starving, so if you donât sit down and eat Iâm stealing your food too.â
âI brought enough for even you,â Tony said. Still, he and Stephen both sat down and grabbed their plates and hamburgers.
Tony looked around at the group and their spontaneous picnic, Peter hoarding the food, Nebula examining everything with her careful scrutinization, Stephen sending a knowing smile in his direction.
Huh.
Kinda perfect.

Angsty Yunho x staff!reader
A/N: There is simply not enough angst in the world
It was was always hard going back to work after an argument with your partner, especially when your partner was sitting right in front of your face, trying his hardest to get you to make eye contact with him.
You hadnât said a word since your conversation the night before. Something about him hearing you but never listening to you. Honestly, you were too focused on not letting the tears fall from your eyes and ruin your own makeup as you applied his.
The call of your name is low, for your ears only but you ignore him anyways.
He knows you heard him. It would be impossible not to within the empty dressing room. Usually you could use the presence of other people to stall your interactions but today it wasnât possible.
âIâm sorry. I promise Iâll do better.â His eyes pleaded as you pressed powder to his forehead.
âIâm not going to keep waiting for your promises to come true.â You mumbled, as your fingers came to his chin, tilting his head to the side so you could inspect your work.
âIâm trying, baby. Just give me a chance.â
âYunho Iâm all out of chances. Iâm out of patience. Iâm out of excuses for you. At this point, just tell me you donât want me.â
âDonât say that! I want you. I love you so much.â His hands cradle your face, as he brings his lips to yours in a desperate kiss.
Desperate for another chance and more time. You cursed your body for the way it reacted to him without you even thinking about it.
Your eyes fluttering closed as you whined into his mouth.
His hands encase your waist, pull you firm against him while your own grip the sleeves of his suit jacket.
âI love you. I love you.â He mutters against your lips like a mantra, like if he says it enough, youâll believe it too.
âYu- mmm Yunho stop!â You pull your self away, letting go of his jacket and taking a few steps back. âI canât keep doing this with you.â
âKeep doing what? Iâm right here! Just tell me what you want!â
âIâve been telling you what Iâve wanted for what seems like forever! Thatâs the problem! You only care when you think youâre losing me!â
âAm I? Are you gonna walk away from me? From us?â
âI need space Yunho, please.â A stray tear hits your cheek and you wipe it away with the pad of your finger before fixing his makeup that was messed up from your kiss.
His silence kills you almost as much as his empty promises. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you send him off to join his members to which he hesitates but does so anyway leaving you to sink against the wall and miss him.

Now that i think about It genuinely makes me anxious and sad knowing that they weren't in season 1 meaning in original timeline something happened after 1938. They either were killed or had to go away for some reason because you can see they really were loyal and adored Rang as their leader. Even complimenting Lee Rang as a leader who unlike other leaders treated them equally with what they get. So I imagine something really bad must have happened since Rang seems to be alone and didn't want anyone around him and it seemed like it had been years since he's been alone, Yuri had been in Rang's life around 5 year so I think probably soon after 1938 he lost the bandit in orginal timeline. What i think is they died due to some conflict or some reasons why Rang in season 1 seemed more vary of caring for anyone. Like he rescued the dog in season 1 and Yuri but wanted them to go away after he rescued then because he knows the pain of loosing and didn't want to be weak again and responsible for again releasing from their pain from his own hands (which seeing the end of season 1 where he had to kill Yeon all the more worse for him I'm surprised he didn't just k*ll himself with all the suicidal tendencies but then again technically he did since he gave away his life for Yeon). The puppy he rescued definitely reminds him of his own puppy he had to kill as a kid because of the pain it was in the mountain fire human put and was reluctant to keep Yuri around after rescuing her in both of fear and probably experienced loosing the bandit group horribly most likely and also because since the contractor was around with life debt on Rang he didn't want Yuri to be dragged in. Which makes sense because Yuri barely knew anything related to Rang and his life contractor she wasn't around or involved with Imoogi until she wanted to rescue Rang from a fatal injury. There's also that there is good chance the contractor had something to do with keeping Rang alone. Did he have a hand in Rang loosing the bandit either killed or maybe being driven away by the contractor and the contractor uses that to manipulate Rang more.
Honestly the original timeline seems so grim for Rang I'm honestly more curious what else happened when Yeon wasn't around Rang because there's a lot tha happened to Rang during Yeon's absence like after the Mountain was in fire and then there's a huge time skip of him killing people mechanically? Like he's not even himself? Why wait so long to kill the villagers? Something clearly happened to trigger him but we don't know.
Where was he ? How was he surviving? Was anyone with him? And the contractor was suspiciously on time to find a dying Rang even though Yeon thinks Rang survived because he missed Rang's vital point but Rang only survived due to the contractor finding him right on time to use cherry tree soul fruit to save his life putting him in life contractor. I wish at least in season 3 they explore that because we know Rang hates showing weakness and likley didn't tell Yeon. Because for him what's important is Yeon tried to not kill him then (which is depressing really)
Meaning the contractor knew ? Was he following Rang the entire time ? Did he do something to push Rang to kill? Did he know Yeon would miss the mark but fail to save Rang and use that to save Rang himself to kill? Is that why Yeon wasn't able to find Rang once his punishment was done?
Anyways so many questions around Rang's whereabouts. Honestly i would love to see a sequel series of original timeline and what transpired whenever he was alone after the mountain burned down. I want to see everything from then to present times without bigger plotholes to make the ml look better please. Like God the more seasons we get i honestly just have more questions on what happened to Rang in original timeline.
This moment in the second episode made me laugh out loud.Â
The relationship Lee Rang has with his gang makes me weirdly proud of him. He felt abandoned but managed to find a group of people to surround himself with.

people are, of course, allowed to have their opinions and dislike whatever they please but a lot of criticism I see about epic not being a good adaptation boils down to people not realizing that 1) itâs a retelling BASED on the odyssey and was never actually meant to be an adaption, let alone a faithful one
and 2) even if it was, thatâs just the nature of how adaptions and retellings work. there will NEVER be a totally good and faithful adaption or retelling of the odyssey (movie, musical, ect) because there will ALWAYS be constraints of some kind.
so much shit happens in the odyssey and there isnât a valid musical length that could go over it all. Jay cut out a lot and he STILL has issues with time (thatâs why you see so many people criticizing the fact that we donât spend enough time with the crew before they die or calypso before odysseus leaves). Jay has spoken at length about all the things he TRIED to include but couldnât because there wasnât time to do them or because it didnât narratively feel satisfying (the laestrygonians, for example, originally had a much bigger part, as did the lotus eaters).
which leads to my next pointâ Jay prioritizes a satisfying and clear cut narrative over one that is authentic to the original story (which again is how MOST retellings go about it especially when their goal is to share the story with a wider audience!). Like Iâm sorry I love the odyssey and the Iliad but they arenât a satisfying story/conclusion to me. and that doesnât make them bad or worse; it makes sense that they feel this way considering theyâre PARTS of an overarching story that weâre missing crucial pieces of and, more importantly, ITS NOT A MODERN STORY AND THEREFORE IS NOT HELD UNDER THE WAY MODERN PEOPLE VIEW SATISFYING ARCS AND NARRATIVES!!! The odyssey is fantastic but it would literally never work as a modern musical and epic wouldnât be enjoyable at all if Jay tried to be as accurate as possible.
Jay was inspired to tell a story about grief and what it means to be human interacting with that grief. obviously heâd have odysseus reveal his name to the cyclops because heâs angry and grieving instead of being prideful. obviously heâd have it so odysseus had to choose who died to zeus immediately after the cow was slain. obviously heâd make it so odysseusâ primary motivations surround his survivorâs guilt and missing his home over the more complicated and harder to express themes and motivations of odyssey!odysseus.
like I do understand the frustration of never getting an âauthentic adaptationâ but if you want something authentic then⌠read the odyssey? you will never get something that is 100% authentic or scene to scene otherwise. you might get close, Iâll definitely give you that, but SOMETHING has to give. a perfect adaptation to you will be missing something crucial to someone else and that will always be how it is.
life is so much more fun when youâre willing to enjoy art that has âbased onâ disclaimers literally everywhere as something separate (or you are just willing to enjoy adaptations/retellings separately to the source material in general). epic was NEVER intended on being seen as an accurate portrayal of odysseus and Jay never claimed it was. It really does feel like yâall are setting it up for failure by seeing it as something it was never meant to be and then getting upset that it isnât accurate when no one ever said it would be.
maybe itâs just a me thing because Iâve never had any issue separating media from their adaptions/retellings, even my favorite ones, but idk it just sucks seeing people say they have a ton of issues with epic and their issues are all just,,, itâs not accurate enough.
Idk if this makes sense or not but Iâm just rambling. like what you like, dislike what you dislike. Iâm not saying anyone is wrong or anything in how they feel or their preferences. I just think we should all be more open minded about these things idk
#that isnât to say u arenât allowed to WISH certain things were done differently#I just think that saying/acting like itâs bad bc itâs not accurate is wack#epic is not immune to criticism and I have things i criticize about it too#but this is just something Iâve noticed with ppl who liked the odyssey first and I find it weird#enjoy epic as a separate story!!!! itâs not the odyssey!!!!! if u want to read the odyssey then go read it!!!!!!#I mean câmon ody literally kills astyanax when most ppl say it was neo#and thatâs song TWO#epic#epic the musical#my post#epic odysseus#jorge rivera herrans

Yellowjackets Reactions To Clingy Reader!
Jackie Taylor:
Jackie would be flattered at first, just absolutely enjoying the attention you're giving her and basking in the idea that someone values her that much. She'd just casually lean into it, and be all playful with you.
âWow, you really missed me even though I was only gone for five minutes?â
But if your clinginess ever became too much, she'd lowkey try creating space from you; using excuses like needing to focus on something else. She wouldn't want to hurt your feelings and would try hard to soften any pushback with reassurance.
âYou're sweet, really. Just, like, give me a little room to breathe, okay?â
Shauna Shipman:
Shauna would be a little awkward about it, unsure how to handle someone being so attached to her. But she'd tolerate it to an extent, especially if it seemed like genuine affection to her; making jokes about it eventually and easing tension.
âYou really don't have to follow me everywhere, you knowâ
She'd say that with a small laugh. Despite her discomfort, she wouldn't be that harsh. And if you just happened to be one of the lucky people, she might secretly find it endearing that someone values her that much.
Taissa Turner:
Taissa would definetely take it in stride, appreciating you being loyal and close to her that way. She's naturally protective, so she might view your clinginess in a way as you trusting and feeling safe around her.
However, if it started interfering with her personal space or responsibilities, Tai would address it immediately and directly but kindly with you. She'd be firm, and understanding!
âHey, I love hanging out with you, but I need to focus on this right now, okay? We can catch up later.â
Van Palmer:
Van would be amused by your clinginess, she wouldn't take it too serious and would probably even tease you with a grin about it every once in a while. She wouldn't mind the extra attention as long as it isn't constant.
âWow, didn't know I was that amazingâ
She'd probably find it cute that someone cares that much. But if it ever became too much? she'd probably nudge you gently toward independence like a mother would with her own clingy child.
âYou know, I'm not going anywhere. You can chill for a bit.â
Natalie Scatorrcio:
Natalie definitely might have been caught off guard by your clinginess at first because she's not used to people being so openly attached to her that way, but she would just brush it off.
Over time, she would eventually warm up to it, seeing it as your way of showing affection to her. Of course, if it ever crossed a line, Nat would be straightforward about it with you. It'll be short and cool.
âHey, I need some space right now, okay? Nothing personal.â
Lottie Matthews:
Lottie would handle your clinginess with an odd calmness and grace. Similarly to Tai, she'd see this as a sign of you trusting and valuing her. This would mean a lot to her despite what you think, and she'd hold it on a very high careful pedestal.
Lottie might even encourage your clinginess to some degree, just offering reassurance whenever you seem worried or needy. But if it starts to overwhelm her, expect her to guide you on being more self-reliant and practicing boundaries!
âIt's okay, I'm here.â
Laura Lee:
Laura Lee would see your clinginess as a sign of you seeing her as someone comforting, which she'd take as a compliment. She'd be patient and kind with you, being very understanding and even encouraging a bit.
If it started becoming too much, she's addressing it like a therapist would with their patient. She'll suggest much "healthier" ways to spend time together without you being overly attached to her.
âI'm glad you feel comfortable with me, but..â
Misty Quigley:
Misty would absolutely just love your clinginess. Considering she thrives on attention and validation, having you attached to her makes her feel pretty special and valued.
âOh, you don't have to apologize for wanting to be around me all the time!â
Out of all the girls, she would be the one to encourage it fully more. But her enthusiasm might turn possessive if she even slightly felt like you weren't as clingy to her anymore. So, expect the girl to work harder to keep your attention on her!

Outgrowing Supergirl
A/N: The finale I deserved, tbh (Also on AO3)
Cat's voice kept repeating in Kara's head since Alex and Kelly's wedding.
'Ker-rah, you need to stop making excuses, and you need to decide what your course will be. Now, there is important work to be done, and I hope you'll join me. But more than that, I hope that you will choose to become your full self, because that would really be something to see. And it would be interesting because this is boring.'
Boring.
Her life had been torn to pieces a few times over, with destruction and missing on half the happenings of her own life because she was busy saving the world⌠the universe, and Cat Grant categorized it as boring.
Kara laughed to herself. She didn't know the half of it. And yet, her reluctant mentor also had some encouraging words.
'I believe in you, I always have.'
She had offered an Editor-In-Chief position.
One position she wasn't entirely sure she deserved, but as Alex said, 'That was her dream job.' Not one she expected to get, so soon. It was one she expected for when her superheroing had dwindled, and she was well into her human midlife. When her birth-date would say she was in her late forties, and she had to pretend she followed some strict regimen to look as good as she did, because the yellow sun wouldn't really let her age that much.
Her own words, also bounced in her head.
'I give speeches inspiring people to live their best lives. But she's right. I am too afraid to live my own.'
'My entire life, I've hid behind these glasses. It's gotten in the way of every job I've ever had, everything I've ever wanted to do, every relationship.'
'I think hiding who I am is the reason I couldn't pass the courage Gauntlet. I created Supergirl that night because the thought of saving my sister as myself was too terrifying.'
At that precise moment, she did thought that. but in the days since her sister's wedding, she could ponder long and wide over it. That may have been the totem's argument. But the totem didn't know about her safety. All the times people knowing her identity, put them in danger.
The totem didn't live Jeremiah having to surrender himself to work for the D.E.O to protect her. The totem didn't know about the D.E.O recruiting her sister out of college, because she was an alien. The totem didn't know about Max Lord trying to date her sister just to try and uncover Supergirl's identity. Or Rick Malverne keeping Alex hostage, so Supergirl would do his bidding. Or Haley finding out her identity, and use it to manipulate her sister and herself.
The totem didn't understand Lex Luthor capturing her niece in exchange for more power.
Or Agent Liberty kidnapping Lena to force her to reveal her identity.
That didn't happen in this reality, but it did happened to her. And she caved, of course she did. But it was dangerous. Too dangerous.
Lena's words constantly swam in her mind too, 'You've had your entire life, people telling you who you're supposed to be and that if you didn't hide your true self then the people would get hurt. I mean, it's tough to move beyond those type of core wounds.'
"It wasn't until Lillian told me the truth that I realized I haven't been living my own life. And finally, now I am. And it feels amazing." She had said, as they walked together, one next to the other.
"I don't even know what that would feel like for me. Connecting with someone as my whole self. To not be afraid to just be who I am.." Kara confessed. "It sounds like it could be empowering," Lena encouraged her.
It wasn't until days later, that she realized she'd lied to her best friend.
They were both sitting in her couch, watching The Great British Baking Show. Kara didn't even remember which season they were on.
"Are you even paying attention to the TV?" Lena asked, like reading her mind.
"No, not really," Kara sincerely admitted."I was thinking about what we talked at the wedding. About living my own life."
Lena turned to look at her instead of the TV, "You took of your glasses."
"I did. But I don't think that's the correct move for me," Kara confessed.
"Then, what is it?"
Kara sighed, "I'll accept the Editor-In-Chief job."
"You seem awfully conflicted for someone accepting her dream job," Lena frowned.
"I just need to convince Cat Grant to accept my conditions."
"Ah," Lena let out. "I see." She looked at her with a smile. "If anyone can convince her of anything, is you."
Kara was mesmerized by her. She thought about how much their life has changed, since they met. How miserable she was when Lena wasn't in her life. How unhappy she was when she had to run away from her, a lie in her lips. And how much better it was now that she knew the truth and was a willing participant of her life as a superhero.
She didn't realized she had done it, get so close to Lena she'd just had to lean in a few inches to touch her lips to hers.
"I lied at the wedding, too." Kara whispered.
"Lied about what?" Lena asked, in an equally low mumble.
"That I didn't know how it felt connecting with someone as my whole self," Kara explained. "I do know. I've always done it with you, even without the obvious. But especially in the last year." Kara paused. "And I think⌠I think you are more than my best friend."
Lena didn't move, she kept looking into Kara's eyes looking for something, and it seemingly she found it. "And what are you going to do about it?" She muttered.
"I'm going to kiss you, if that's okay with you," Kara said, finally closing the distance between their lips.
Kara could fly, and yet nothing had ever felt like kissing Lena.
"I got it," Lena announced, entering the loft.
Kara was nervous. She had managed to convince Cat Grant of it, but of course, her mentor and boss, couldn't let the dramatics go, and didn't let Kara even look at the cover of the magazine before sending it to print.
"You do look very good," her girlfriend said.
She was still over the moon about calling Lena her girlfriend, but not even that could squelch her nervousness. The kiss Lena gave her as a greeting did, though.
"Ready?" Lena asked.
"As ready as I can be."
Lena flipped the magazine in front of her, showing the cover to Kara. A picture of herself in her SuperSuit looked back at her.
'Supergirl is out, Superwoman is in.'
"She could have gone with a less cliched headline," Kara commented in a whisper.
"It's not that bad," Lena said, throwing her hands around Kara's neck, keeping her close. "But if I'm completely honest, you know Kara has always been my hero."

@duskdog
Hiiii! Been meaning to respond to this because you raised some really interesting ideas, sorry that itâs taken me a hot sec.
The crazy part is (like a lot of things about Steph) we get conflicting information about how Bruce sees Steph in relation to her father.
Steph consistently worries Batman is judging her by her fathers actions when sheâs sanctioned at Spoiler. She identifies it as a potential reason the rest of the team doesnât trust her.
This tracks with how Steph is shown to have a pattern of feeling responsible for the Cluemasters actions (which as Iâve mentioned before I see as an extension of her helplessness to protect herself and her mother from him during her childhood).
She identifies on multiple occasions that her choice to be the Spoiler is rooted in the misgivings of her father. Clear, easy example of this mindset is when she states because her dad is an asshole, she âhas a lot to make up forâ (Robin 80 Page Giant). She finds herself responsible in some part for his actions.
So it makes a lot of sense that Stephanie keeps asssuming other people are holding her to this same standard, judging her based off of her fathers criminal ways.
However, this assumption is not really substantiated.
I canât think of a time Batman says or thinks anything which implies he gives a fuck who her dad is, besides when they first meet assuming sheâs working with the Cluemaster instead of against him. (Iâm not perfect however and I Might have missed one)
That is, until⌠Bruce Wayne: The Road Home Batgirl (đI love talking about BWTRHB!!!!! The worlds shittiest acronym!!!đ)
After his little assessment and convo with Steph, Bruce tells Alfred that Stephanie and Wendy âneed watchingâ, as their dads were both âcriminalsâ.
This train of thought comes out of nowhere. As already stated, thereâs very little evidence that Batman cared much that her dad was a criminal before this point.
Additionally, half his goddamn team has criminal fathers/mothers, ranging from mob bosses to goons to cult assassins to international terrorists. What is he even saying.
This is a total inconsistency. But I can see your view kinda accounts for that hypocrisy. If Bruce sees Cluemaster as a âlesserâ threat and holds him in less esteem than the more formidable villain parents, it might explain why he seems to put this bonus emphasis on Stephs parentage. (Maybe he sees Stephs fathers criminal ways as more âmundaneâ and therefore easier for her to slip into?)
I donât think Iâm totally sold on that idea, but itâs definitely interesting.
His statement feels just so out of nowhere (and again applies to half the people he works with) that I find it hard to believe this is a consistent concern of his.
Batmanâs opinion on low level thugs varies (obviously by era and writer), but the versions of him I find most compelling are when he is shown to be sympathetic and willing to help people in shitty situations get out of them (even if they were doing crime beforehand). However itâs entirely possible (and probably equally substantiable) that he has unconscious and class based biases which might affect how he acts and treats certain characters.
Iâm not nearly as intensely familiar with Jasonâs character as I am Stephanie, so Iâm low grade blanking on any good examples of how Bruce interacted w Jasonâs background (besides his generally all consuming belief that Jason was on track to worse and worse crime and eventual death before Batman took him in).
Sorry this is pretty rambly, but I thought you brought up a Rly interesting point and i had some thoughts I wanted to add on
How Batman uses the idea of those "born for" vigilantism to justify working with Teen Vigilantes before and after the death of Jason Todd, and what it has to do with Stephanie Brown.
(DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to condemn the concept of child/teen vigilantes in superhero comics, its a staple of the genre and dumb to condemn it like you would in the real world. I'm analyzing the times in which Bruce Wayne the character has questioned the concept himself, and the rationalizations he comes to about it)
By examining Bruce Waynes mindset immediately before, during, and after Jason Todd's deadly time as Robin, we can see how Batman rationalizes and justifies teenaged vigilantism.
When Dick Grayson as Robin is shot by the Joker, Batman essentially fires him from being Robin. Bruce entirely dismisses the concept of working with a "child" to fight crime. Batman seems to believe working with Dick as Robin is simply too dangerous.
Batman #408 (1940)
His Mindset at this point: Teenaged Vigilantism = Dangerous and Bad
But this, obviously, doesn't stick. It barely takes any time at all after this forBruce Wayne to take in Jason Todd and subsequently make him the second Robin.
Crime fighting with a 19 year old is too dangerous, but crime fighting with the 12 year old? Yeah, sure, why not!
There is an obvious contradiction, and a clear change in mindset.
In order to rationalize his choice to take in Jason Todd as Robin after firing Dick, Bruce Wayne must internally reendorse the concept of Teenaged Vigilantism. And he does so in a specific way:
Batman #410 (1940)
Mindset: If Jason Todd was not Robin, he would become a criminal and die
The dying part is specific as well. When confronted at first by Alfred, its more of an afterthought, something which would occur down the criminal "road" Jason was bound to end up on. But when he is later confronted by Dick, the idea that being Robin "saved" Jasons life takes center stage.
Batman #416 (1940)
It's no longer some distant crime related death Jason was on course for, it was an imminent death which Bruce was able to save him from.
Mindset: If Jason Todd was not Robin, his "self destructive energies" and lack of "self esteem" would have killed him.
This phrasing is SUPER interesting to me, because its not true in a very specific way.
1. Jason Todd wasn't really shown to have "Self destructive energies" before he became Robin. He was stealing to make a living, to stay alive. He never showcases a desire for "self destruction", unless you count his hitting Batman with a tire iron, and his interference in Ma Gunnâs heist. Which I don't.
2. It seems to imply Jason Todd might have died because of specifically "self destructive tendancies", which seems ascribes a small amount of passive potential suicidal ideation, which is also vastly unsubstantiated by anything we see from Jason before he becomes Robin. But you know who is a character who is deeply rooted in concepts of suicidal ideation? Batman. (I'm not going prove this point here, but this concept gets more firmly rooted in the upcoming years after this comic, Knightfall being a great example) Being Batman, Knightfall will establish, is pretty much all that keeps Bruce Wayne living. You could say that being Batman saved his life.
3. Bruce admits he took Jason on because he was lonely in this very same confrontation when Dick pushes him on this idea. This makes it abundantly clear why he needs this rationalization in the first place, his real reason for making Jason Robin appears to be somewhat selfish.
But what does this all mean? For one, it proves that Batman's primary explanation for why he took on Jason Todd is lowgrade BS. It also shows how Batman's rationalization has begun to veer into projection. He states that Jason was saved from his self destructiveness by becoming Robin, something that is certainly true for himself, but not really Jason.
We see this projection fully take root when Leslie Thompkins confronts Bruce. Not only is Jason Todd saved by becoming Robin, now he wasn't even chosen by Batman. It was, much like Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, inevitable. Something he was "born" to do.
Detective #574
Mindset: I didn't chose Jason, he was chosen, he is just like me, we were born for this
This is essential. This mindset will show up again and again as a core part of Bruce's ability to rationalize working with child vigilantes once Jason has died.
Lets look at how his mindset has been evolving from before he meets Jason to his time as Robin progressing. Batman has gone from:
Teenage/Child vigilante Bad --> Child Vigilante Good because Jason would have become a crimial --> Child Vigilante Good because Jason would have died, I saved his life --> Child Vigilante is Good because I saved his life and Jason was meant to be Robin just like I was meant to be Batman, this is what we were was born to do
This is insane rationalization. But it works. For a while.
Then, Jason begins acting out, and putting himself in danger. Whoops. uh oh! How can Jason be saved by becoming Robin, if he is endangered by it? The balm for Bruce's semi-suicidal ideation was crime fighting, so if Jason is self destructive as Robin, does that mean Jason isn't like Bruce after all? Does that mean he wasn't born to be Robin? Was Bruce right in the begining? Is Teen Vigilantism Bad? Well, lucklily, the rationalization Bruce has built doesnt need to change too much in order to accommodate these new facts.
Batman #426 (1940)
See, this issue has not reverted back to being child vigilantism, it's the fact that Jason isn't ready yet.
Batman #426 (1940) / Batman #427
Batman latches onto this idea, he identifies it as "the problem". Is he wrong? No, not really. It does seem like Jason needs come to terms with his parents deaths. But this is important because it is still a rationalization for mindset he started with, still part of the reason he can be in favor of Teenage Vigilantism.
Then Jason Todd dies, as Robin. That truly breaks the underlying concept for this rationalization, that being Robin saved Jason Todd. The entire justification has fully shattered, and Bruce Wayne has lost a son. And, so because of this, in the wake of Jason Todds death, we see a full 180 revert back to the idea Bruce held onto at the end of Dick Graysons time as Robin: Teenage Vigilante = Bad.
Batman #428/ The New Teen Titans #55 (1984) / Batman #439
He has fully rejected the very concept of working with anyone, including the now adult Nightwing. He is literally right back where we started, with even deeper convictions against working with someone else (especially a kid) ever again.
But we all know this doesn't stick. He takes on 13 year old Tim Drake as Robin not long at all afterwards. As the 90's progress Bruces goes on to work with a huge variety of other vigilantes and partners, both teenaged and adult.
So how does he possibly justify this?
I believe he retrofits his rationalization for taking on Jason as Robin.
He adheres to a primary idea. The idea that some people are, like him, simply built for Vigilantism. That they, much like he once believed Jason was, "born" for it.
Mindset: Child Vigilantle is not always Good, but it can be Good. When its the right kind of teenager. Some Teenaged Vigilantes are meant to be Vigilantes just like I was meant to be Batman.
In this way, Jason Todds tragic murder is not a failure of concept, it a category error. Batmans mistake was not working with a teenager, his mistake was working with the wrong kind of teenager. Jason Todd was not built for vigilantism. But others are. This means he's still totally in the clear to work with teenagers, Tim Drake as Robin, then Cassandra Cain as Batgirl, and then eventually Stephanie Brown as Spoiler. So long as Bruce is able to believe they are "born" for it, that they are like Batman himself, meant to do this, and incapable of living a normal life, there is no contradiction, his rationalization holds.
But whereâs the proof?
This mindset can be clearly seen and prominently seen when Stephanie Brown is fired as Spoiler.
When Steph is fired as Spoiler because she has moved in Bruce's mind from the "acceptable Teen Vigilante" category into the "unacceptable Teen Vigilante category". And the reasons he gives for this decision are exactly in line with the rationalization I've lain out. She is consistently contrasted to other teen vigilante characters who are fit for duty because he does not see her as "like him/them".
Detective #790
Notice how he jumps right from "Jason and Stephanie were/are not fit to fight crime" to "they could/can have a normal life" right to "unlike me and you, Cassandra Cain, who are stuck fighting crime forever". Much like how he originally justified his decision to work with Jason Todd as Robin through the idea that Jason and Bruce were both destined for this life, he applies the exact same idea, but this time, about himself and Cassandra Cain as Batgirl. And in contrast to them, and in directly comparison to Jason Todd, Stephanie is not meant for crime fighting.
Batgirl #38 (2000)
And Stephanie Brown is contrasted with Cass again, when Bruce first explains why he fired Steph to Cass. This is a consistent pattern. She is not like Cass. This is why she shouldnât be a vigilante.
When he explains that he is going to fire Steph as Spoiler to Tim, he says something very interesting which invokes the same idea. In the list of three reasons he throw out that Steph shouldn't be Spoiler, he mentions that she is going to "throw her life away". When taken in combination with the other panels discussed, its clear to me that he means this is the common way the saying is used. That she is wasting her life by being a vigilante, that she should, as he mentions earlier, be living a normal life. But why is he saying this to Tim? If one of the reasons Steph shouldn't be Spoiler is her ability to lead a normal life, why the fuck is Tim exempt? I think it comes from a genuine belief that Tim is "like him". Unable to live a normal, non-vigilante life, "born" for crime fighting. Much like Cass, who we already saw him directly compare himself to in this exact same way. Thats why he can directly reference to Tim Steph's ability to have a normal life as a reason she shouldn't be a vigilante, he doesn't believe Tim fits the same category at all!
Robin #106 (1993)
So why the fuck does Stephanie move categories? She was acceptable earlier? What changed?
I've already done an in-depth explanation for what the subconscious underlying reason Bruce fires Stephanie: she simply is no longer useful to as a balm for his loneliness. I highly recommend checking out the post here if you are interested in the breakdown of why and how.
But in addition to that, itâs clear to me that it also has a weird amount to do with Jason Todd.
Stephanie simply and clearly reminds Bruce of Jason Todd. He points out their similarities in personality, and itâs worth mentioning the similarities in their circumstances as well (mothers who struggle(d) with drug addiction, and fathers who were criminals).
As we saw in Detective #790, their personality similarities led to Batman associating Steph with Jason. This makes sense, this association would only grow as he got to know her over the time she is sanctioned as Spoiler.
I believe this association leads to him eventually placing her in the same category as Jason, as not "born" for vigilantism at all, and as capable of having a normal life.
But it also serves as a clear way to rectify his mistakes with Jason. Itâs his way of âmaking up forâ his role in Jason's death. Itâs his second chance. Never mind that this second chance leads to his assessment of Stephanie having very little to do with Steph herself, and a whole fucking lot to do about Bruceâs guilt over Jasonâs death.
This is especially brutal because it seems to come from a place of genuine care (and a selfish desire to assuage his guilt too), but Stephanie doesn't get the tender moment of explanation and grief and regret that Cassandra hears. She doesn't get to know this.
What she gets, is to be told point blank that she is fired because she just isn't good enough. She gets to hear that she lacks the "skills and talent" from the same man who originally came to her to train her because he finally saw and recognized her potential. She gets told she will never be good enough by the guy who told her that she could learn and improve under his instruction. She gets two sentences. She has to fight for any more.
I cannot emphasize enough the fact that she had to track Bruce down to get an explanation for why he was suddenly ghosting her. He didn't even have the decency to tell her himself. Stephanie had to track Bruce down just so she could find out that he gave up on her.
Stephanie gets a blunt lie about why she is fired. And Bruce Wayne gets to feel good about "correcting" a mistake that had nothing to do with Stephanie. Stephanie gets cut off from her friends. Bruce Wayne gets to reconcile with his team. Stephanie gets to feel worthless. Bruce Wayne gets to feel justified.

Hi, I love your time travel with Stark!!! He's one of my favorite characters, so I love reading your ideas about him and Ichigo. I was just wondering, how do Hallows react to Stark? As a former Hallow who healed himself, would they treat him like a normal soul, or would they know he used to be one of them? I'm just curious if you had ideas about that. Anyway, thanks for sharing your story idea, I love reading them!!!
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
I think generally speaking, they wouldn't know. I think that people can sense that it's a Hollow in the vicinity (as opposed to a Shinigami) because their reiatsu is hollow, it's not whole, it's missing pieces, fragmented in a way that a Shinigami's reiatsu wouldn't be. Like yes Starrk is technically still part Hollow, that's what he became, that's what he built himself back up from, and he can't just discard that part of himself, it's what makes up part of his soul, like scars you gain throughout your life. And his reiatsu is just naturally corrosive, it's an aspect of his power, so he can't get rid of that. But he's also a whole soul now, and at this point, there's actually not much of a difference in his reiatsu between his Shinigami and Hollow sides, he's perfectly merged. So there's that, and also ever since he learned how, his control's been second to none, so outside of a battle that necessitates major use of his reiatsu, he mostly keeps it under wraps since it can still hurt people and he's got a Thing:tm: about that. He probably keeps it at the level of an unseated officer, so enough for people to sense him coming but not really pick up anything else about it.
(Which reminds me, I actually also kind of headcanon that you can sort of tell how old someone is if you get a good enough feel for their reiatsu. Like obv not exact date of birth and age lmao, I just mean the older and more powerful someone is, the denser and heavier their reiatsu becomes, so if you're halfway decent at sensing reiatsu, you can sort of distinguish between someone who has just a handful of decades or a century or two under their belt, and someone who's comfortably into their hundreds, and someone whose reiatsu is just solid in a way that speaks of them having Seen Some Things, because you can't always tell via physical appearance but the soul remembers the years gone by. Ichigo is ofc an exception because he's part human, so like he prob reads around 60-100 years old to Kaien and co., esp when you put him next to Rangiku and Asuka, they sort of all read like the same age.
And all of that is just to say I absolutely want to write a thing for when Starrk finally lets his reiatsu out properly while Shunsui and Ukitake are right there and people will just be like why the fuck does this guy feel the same as the two thousand-year-old captains đđđ)

Dear Students,
Miss me? It's been awhile hasn't it. I've been building up the gossip as well as the announcements, thanks to all of the messages I've received from you all. Suck it Quibbler, bet nobody dms you.
Anywho let's get into our announcements for the week as well as congratulate Gryffindor on their win in quidditch this past weekend, as well as a big good luck to Ravenclaw when they go against Slytherin next week.
Of course in good Hogwarts fashion, Gryffindor will be hosting a celebratory party in the common room this weekend, all are invited so make sure to dress up and let the drama unfold ;).
On another note I have been alerted about a surprise exam professor Sprout is planning on assigning her students so make sure to study, but only after the party of course.
As everyone knows winter season is approaching quickly which means Madame Pomfrey will be packed with sick students. The woman is already stressed enough with you reckless gits so please wash your hands and cover your mouths this year.
Now onto everybody's favorite part of this newspaper, the gossip:
Onto relationships, Congratulations to Pandora Rosier and Lucius Malfoy on their new relationship, the two are very cute together. However, has anyone else noticed the amount of flirting Lucius Malfoy does with other girls? If I were Pandora Iâd keep an eye on my man.
Now the amount of messages I've received about Emmeline and Mary being, and I quite âSO gay for each otherâ is honestly insane. I mean, it's so obvious to everyone but them they're in love. Did you see the way they were whispering and giggling to each other at the firework show? Mary couldn't keep her eyes off the girl.
Now onto James Potter. The star quidditch player and prankster is well known around Hogwarts of course as well as his beautiful girlfriend Hestia. However a little Birdy has told me the loving boyfriend might not be so loyal. A lot of people have been suspecting the boy is in love with another. He disappeared the night of the fireworks to go get âsnacksâ by himself, refusing company and the only other person missing besides himself was none other than Regulus Black.
I have even received an interesting direct message for Mr Potter I will send out after this of course.
I've also been alerted of a possible tension growing between Marlene and Hestia, my supplier lacked on what type of tension so you take your pick. Do you think it's romantic or are the two girls about to give Hogwarts the best fight of the century? Let me know what you think.
Now back to Pandora, it seems as though she's made an enemy? The girl was recently questioned about a kiss between her and Xenophilus Lovegood. The girl immediately denied the rumor, her own boyfriend standing up for her, but he wasn't the only one. Xenophilus Lovegood also stood up for the girl, I suppose he is her friend but could there be something more? Lucius himself has even spoken of concern for where the girl's heart lies. Could a love triangle be brewing?
Onto some more exciting news, James Potter is handing out invitations for his mother's Christmas ball. This wonderful event is sure to be nothing but magical so if you receive an invite consider yourself lucky.
Oh and Remus Lupin's middle name is John.
Now before I sign out Iâd like to say a little something. The Quibbler may be fun for little facts about creatures but it's hardly anything if the spelling is incorrect. Xenophilus Lovegood, it's best if you check your spelling and check it twice.
Thank you for reading this week's copy of Hogwarts Confidential and I will see you all next time. đ

Kleeâs fortnightly sleepover at the Gunnhildr mansion, originally some scheme cooked up by Lisa to force Jean to bed on time at least once every two weeks, has devolved somewhat into an opportunity for all the people who love Klee to gather for dinner at Jeanâs place and swap stories and gossip far too late into the night.
But now Klee is in bed and the dining room is quiet, and Albedo, who is the last one out, having had the honour of putting Klee to bed tonight, is stepping out into the crisp fall air.
He turns around and looks up at the figure of the Acting Grand Master silhouetted in the doorframe. She seems softer, like this, with the strong lines of her body blurred by the golden light of her foyer lamp.
âThank you for coming, Albedo,â she says. âI had a lovely evening. I know Klee did too.â
âIt was my pleasure,â he says, the polite human response coming instantly to his tongue.Â
It is almost too easy, these days, blending in among the humans. He is a far cry from the awkward, socially inept homunculus he was only a few years ago, the one whose mannerisms marked him out as other even if not necessarily as inhuman. The vendors in the marketplace smile at him now when he passes â and, which is more, he finds himself smiling back.
And he forgets, day by day, little by little, who he really is. And he forgets that he does not belong here.
Which is perhaps why he says: âMaster Jean, can I ask you a question?â
She shifts, her head tilting. âOf course.â
âHow far would you go to protect Mondstadt?â
She blinks down at him, apparently thrown. âHow do you mean?â
âI mean,â he clarifies, âif for some reason Mondstadt was in danger because of me. Or, to make it more tangible, if I had put Klee in danger somehow. Would you kill me?â
She makes a tiny, horrified noise. âWhy are we talking about this hypothetical?â
âIâm a man of science,â he says, letting his voice tip halfway to joking. âHumour me.â
He watches the protests hover on her tongue before she swallows them down. âWalk me through the scenario again.â
âItâs quite simple,â he says. âThe context doesnât matter. All you need to know is that I have put Klee and the rest of Mondstadt in danger somehow, and the only way to save her is to kill me. Would you?â
Jean swallows, but he can see her answer in the set of her jaw even before she opens her mouth. âYes,â she says. âI would.â
Albedo nods. This is the answer he was looking for. He is the anomaly, the transgression, the liability; she must be willing to kill him to save the people they both love. He shouldnât feel as betrayed as he does.
âStill,â Jean says, before he can thank her and turn to leave, âthere must be other options.â
âPardon?â
âEither I kill you or I let Klee die. Why are those my only two choices?â
âIâŚâ He trails off. âJust because.â
She shakes her head. âFrom a man of science, thatâs not very scientific.â
He laughs a little incredulously. âI suppose I never saw any other way forward.â
âWell, the forced dilemma is part of the fun,â Jean allows graciously. âBut real life is messier than that.â
âI think, in this hypothetical, there would be no other options.â
She makes a low, noncommittal noise. âIâm not saying youâre wrong. Iâm just saying that maybe you arenât seeing the whole picture.â
âHow do you mean?â he asks, echoing her earlier words.
âI meanâŚâ She pauses. âEula is out in the field a lot, so she sees much more of the day-to-day workings of the Knights than I do. But as the Acting Grand Master, I have a birdâs-eye view of the organization as a whole. As a result, when faced with a quandary, she often offers solutions I would never have come up with on my own, and vice versa.â She makes a small motion with her hand, like sheâs going to touch his shoulder, then drops it again. âThatâs why we have people around us. So they can catch things we miss.â
âI see,â Albedo says.Â
Jeanâs blue-grey eyes, shadowed in the dim light, search his face. He fights the urge to look away from that piercing gaze.Â
âI would hope,â she says finally, her voice low, âthat if you believed you were a danger to yourself or others, you would come to me. Iâm not saying I can always help. But the Knights look after our own, Captain.â
âI see,â Albedo says again. His chest is tight. âThank you, Master Jean.â
She scrutinizes him for a moment more, then smiles a small smile. âI hope my answer was satisfactory?â
âVery much so.â
She looks relieved. âOh, good. I was worried I wasnât making much sense there.âÂ
âYou made perfect sense,â he reassures her, strangely endeared by her earnestness. âBut now itâs late, and you should get to bed. Iâll take my leave.â
âVery well. Have a good night, Albedo,â she says.
He turns away, and watches the sliver of golden light from the foyer fade into shadow as the door shuts. The chill autumn air threads around his ankles as he sets his feet towards home.
If he ever loses control, she will not be able to save him. He knows that already.Â
Still, it is nice to know that she would try.
#genshin#jeanbedo#albejean#pair so rare i'm making up my own tags#in my defense... i have no defense.#honestly i don't really have a rationale for these two i just think they're kind of goofy together#also i realize this reads like albedo&jean but it's albedo/jean trust me#is there anything more romantic than asking your boss to kill you? science says no#jean gunnhildr#albedo#drabble#leifyposts

with you in a distorted fairy tale ༻¨*:·.
'dark if ' chapter 1
This is a fan translation and may not be 100% accurate. I do not own anything. Cybird reserves the right of ownership for all in-game content.
author's note: Throughout this story, Kate refers to Elbert with feminine pronouns 彟弳, and Elbert's title is the Queen 弳ç. Therefore, in sentences where Elbert is the main subject, sometimes you will see Elbert's pronouns listed as she/her. (i.e, "Elbert removed her hands"). This may be a bit confusing to read through, but I wanted to keep the translation as accurate and close to the original material as possible.
Victor: Miss Kate, your hands have the power to create the ultimate happy ending.
Victor: Now, come, and enjoy your time in this distorted fairy tale world.
Somebody's fingertips lightly grazed the back of my neck.
Kate: ..mnnn
I squirm from ticklish stimulation as someone whispers into my ear.
???: --Ah...It's definitely- ....-not
(What... what is this..)
Before I could make sense of those whispered words, I groggily began to wake up.
When I awakened fully, I found myself in a soft bed.
(Where am I..?)
Blonde, blue eyed beauty: Ah, you're awake.
A "woman" [1] with moonlight hair and sea-blue eyes peered into my face.
[1] When Kate awakens, she perceives Elbert as a woman. The pronoun is placed in quotations to indicate that he is not really a woman, just seems like one thanks to Al's ability.
(Wah... I've never seen such a beautiful person before..)
Kate: Could.. could this be heaven?
Man with raven colored hair: Unfortunately no, this is your reality.
The man standing next to the beautiful woman replied with a chuckle.
The dark-haired man is just as bewitching.. charming, even, to look at, making the two before me a truly eye-catching duo.
Man with raven colored hair: You've just woken up, is there anything you feel is wrong with your body?
Man with raven colored hair: You were found collapsed in the forest by a hunter who brought you here.
Kate: Oh, I see.... my body feels fine! Thank you very much for saving me.
I got up from the bed and bowed to both of them.
Kate: In any case.... exactly where am I?
Blonde, blue eyed beauty: ....this is my castle.
Queen Elbert: I run this this country..... as the "Queen of Greed" - Elbert.
Mirror Alfons: I am Alfons the Mirror, the Queen's servant. I hope we will continue to get to know each other [2].
[2] In Japanese, Alfons uses 「䝼ĺžăčŚçĽăăăă」 which is similar to saying "I hope you will remember me in the future." Here, it is meant to be a surface level greeting for someone you know you'll see again, though more commonly you'd say ăăăăăăéĄăăăžăă or "It's nice to meet you". But I think the meaning behind the first phrase really plays into Al's curse and fated end.
(The Hunter, the Greedy Queen, and the Mirror...)
(Then this must be... the fairy tale world of "Snow White"?)
If this is the case, then the other remaining important characters are the Prince and Snow White.
(I wonder of one of these people are what's missing in this story.)
Queen Elbert: As you've just woken up...... are you hungry, Snow White?
Queen Elbert: I was thinking of preparing a meal for you.
Kate: Sn-... Snow White? That's.... me?
Mirror Alfons: The Hunter gave you that name.
Mirror Alfons: A beautiful girl laying in pure, white snow-- Snow White.
Mirror Alfons: And so, you were taken in by the Queen, who is looking for the most beautiful thing in the world.
Mirror Alfons: Thus, I had you brought to the castle-- such is your story.
(I'm Snow White in this world...)
(...then, wouldn't it be dangerous for me to be near Queen Elbert?)
In the traditional story, the Queen is jealous of Snow White's beauty, and attempts to poison her.
There hasn't been any hostility toward me here yet, but..... it's definitely better safe than sorry.
Kate: Aaaaah, well! Thank you for your help, then.
Kate: However, I don't think I need a meal right now. Well, if you'll excuse me.......
Realizing the situation I was in, I quickly tried to get out of the bed.
--However, at that moment, Elbert grabbed my hand.
Queen Elbert: Where are you going?
Kate: ...Ah uhmm.. I'm going back home to my family.
Mirror Alfons: Oh? Dear, do not lie to us.
Mirror Alfons: While you were asleep, we confirmed that you are not a resident of this country.
Mirror Alfons: Coming here alone, a foreigner from abroad.... what home do you have to go back to?
(What should I do... I can't escape this...)
(No one would believe that I actually came from another world...)
Queen Elbert: ......Snow White.
Kate: Y- yes!
Queen Elbert: .....I personally do not care who you are, or where you came from.
Kate: Eh...?
Queen Elbert: As Queen, I should punish you for coming here on unlawful terms, but...
Queen Elbert: More importantly, I want to obtain the most beautiful thing in the world.
Queen Elbert: And you might be what I've been looking for..... so please, stay in this castle for a while.
Kate: Ah, that....
Queen Elbert: Of course, we will provide food, clothing, and shelter for you.
Queen Elbert: And if you require money, I'll give it to you, whatever sum you ask for.
Queen Elbert: For my own sake...... please, stay in this castle.
As Elbert wished this, her eyes looked extremely lonely, almost desperate.
There was no way I could brush her off and refuse her offer.
Kate: If you say it that way.... then okay, I understand. I'm not sure what I'll be able to do but...
Kate: Oh, and I don't intend to ask for money. I'd be grateful just to have food, clothing, and shelter.
(If you think about it.... it's easier to find the missing part of the story if I'm near the main character.)
Queen Elbert: Thank you, Snow White.
As Elbert expressed her gratitude with a gracious expression, she did not look like the type of cruel person who would poison Snow White.
--time skip--
We were shown to a dining room where a wide variety of dishes were lined up on the table.
Queen Elbert: I didn't know what you liked, so I let the chef make whatever he could think of.
Queen Elbert: ........Please, eat as much as you want of whatever you'd like.
Kate: Oh... thank you very much.
The freshly cooked food was steaming, and the delicious aroma wafting through the air stimulated my appetite.
(....But, if I were Snow White, I'd have to be careful about what I eat.)
(Apples, in particular, should be avoided.)
Although I still don't sense any hostility from Elbert, due to the background story of this world, I couldn't help but be wary.
Kate: Um... are there any dishes that contain apples..?
Queen Elbert: ...........Why do you ask?
The moment I asked, the air around Elbert became tense, and her blue eyes became cold.
Kate: Well... I can't eat apples because of my allergy to them. They make my mouth itchy....
Without even understanding the reason for her icy stare, I lied about the reason.
Queen Elbert: ...I see.
Queen Elbert: If that's the case, there's no need to worry. In this castle, we do not eat apples.
Kate: Is that so...
I was curious and wanted to ask why apples weren't used here, but I was too hesitant, and refrained from asking in the end.
Meanwhile, Queen Elbert picked up a piece of bread and tore it in two.
Queen Elbert: ...Which would you prefer, left or right?
Kate: Uhhhh.. right.
Elbert then took a bite out of the left bread, and handed the right to me.
Queen Elbert: ...Mm, it's delicious. Please go ahead and eat, too.
(Maybe he knew I was on guard this entire time and he's trying to tell me the food is safe this way.,?)
Kate: Thank you very much...
The bread slice I got from Elbert had a gentle sweetness and was delicious all around.
Queen Elbert: I also recommend trying this salad, which uses vegetables from a nearby village.
After seeing that I finished the bread, Elbert took her portion of the salad and started eating it.
Seeing that, I went ahead and ate my salad.
Elbert eats some, and then I eat some more.... this strange back and forth of meal tasting continued for some time...
Kate: Thank you for the meal! Everything was delicious!!
Queen Elbert: .............
Kate: Elbert?..
Queen Elbert: My stomach........hurts......
Kate: Wha!?
Mirror Alfons: I came to check on y- Elbert?
After coming to the dining hall, Alfons quickly donned a shocked expression and went to support Elbert by the shoulders.
Kate: Umm.... is Elbert okay?
Mirror Alfons: She simply ate too much... She is usually a small eater, so she pushed himself too hard.
(Could it be... she was forcing herself to eat a lot to put me at ease and help me eat as well...)
Seeing Elbert's kindness, I began to feel ashamed of myself for being scared of eating poisoned food under his watch.
Kate: Ah well.... I'll help out too!
I stood on the opposite side of Alfons to help support Elbert.
(..Oh?.. The Queen has a surprisingly sturdy build...)
(Wait! No, no!! Now's not the time to be thinking these things.... let me just help out with a pure mind..)
With the help of Alfons, we put Elbert to bed in her room.
Mirror Alfons: It's not an illness, so if she rests, she'll feel better soon.
Kate: Elbert... I'm sorry for making you eat too much..
Queen Elbert: I chose this myself.. so no need to apologize with such a sad look on your face.
Elbert's hand gently brushed across my face.
Queen Elbert: You're more adorable when you smile than when you're sad.
Queen Elbert: So please... do not worry about my health.
Kate: Mm! Then, thank you for the delicious meal!
Elbert took her hand off my cheek and gave me a soft smile.
She was supposed to be the Queen who poisoned Snow White, and yet her smile made my heart race.
Queen Elbert: By the way, I still have not gotten your name. Snow White.... what is your real name?
Kate: It's Kate.
Queen Elbert: I see... Then, Kate, it is lovely to meet you.
--time skip--
That night in my bed chamber, I decided to plan my course of action.
(The Queen has been friendly to me so far, so I'll have to get serious about finding the missing piece of the story starting tomorrow.)
(The only things that are from the story that I have not tracked down yet are the poisoned apple and the Prince.)
(However, searching for the poisoned apple is quite risky.... it may be better to search for the Prince first.)
On the second day in this world, I decided to cooperate with Queen Elbert.
Queen Elbert: A Prince.....?
Kate: Yes! I want to find the one and only Prince who will love me.
Kate: Please, Your Highness...will you help me?
Queen Elbert: ...........
Queen Elbert seemed to think very carefully about my request.
Queen Elbert: Why exactly do you want to find the Prince?
Queen Elbert: You said yesterday that you did not need money, and you simply brushed Al off when he tried to flirt with you.
Queen Elbert: If you are not swayed by money or the opposite sex, why would you want to seek out the Prince?..... I don't quite understand.
Kate: That's... erm.... finding him is necessary to make my wish come true.
(I am searching for what is missing in this world to correct the distortions, and then return to my reality.... That is what I should do...)
(The Queen seemed to be troubled by my statement........ I can try one last time to do something...)
Ah, that's it!
Kate: People become more beautiful when they are in love....
Kate: If a Prince whom I love and loves me appeared before me.... perhaps we can find the most beautiful thing you are searching for.
Queen Elbert: ...Really?
As soon as Elbert heard it was a beautiful thing, her eyes widened and she came over to me.
Her large hands gripped my shoulders so hard it hurt.
Kate: Y-yes.... that is... most likely so...
(They say falling in love makes people more beautiful-- that isn't wrong per se...y'know?)
Queen Elbert: If there's potential, then so be it. Thank you for trying to make my wish come true, Kate.
Queen Elbert: Let us gather all the people in this nation to search for a Prince... the one and only Prince who will make you beautiful.
Thus began the search for the Prince, led by Queen Elbert.

idk kinda need to see rafe jealous of sofia with another guy before this show ends, it'll be so satisfying to see especially with the current circumstances, like rafe one of the first times comes back to kildare and sees sofia he sees another guy flirting with sofia and rafe is seething about it maybe even causes a scene then queue an angsty scene with sofia getting mad at him because he broke up with her via a phone call and did not let her explain, but i know it'll never happenđ
knowing the pates they'll make rafe spend most of his time in lisbon and then like an episode back in kildare and then suddenly rofia get together after rafe realises he made a mistake bc their ass at writingđ
like i know they said their story will continue and i believe they will too but i want there to be good writing this time around, a rofia and sofia backstory!!!! they could insert them both so easily, like moments in s5 where any of these where she's thinking of rafe, something reminds her of him or doing the typical scrolling through picture scenes that elite tv ships do when the other misses the other and after any of these there's a slow fade to a flashback of their first meeting, it also makes no sense for them to put these lines here and there plus the showing sofia's family and then proceed to not explain them further or have an episode dedicated to her, they can easily do either but they aren't bc of time constraints and they deem the pogues storyline more favourable, idk maybe cut out those useless topper scenes for sofia the character people actually care about!!!!
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH!! THANK YOUUU!!
Like yes, Sofia trying to move on and forget about him and Rafe seeing this and getting super jealous and mad, which only makes her angrier, because how dare he get mad when he was the one who ended their engagement so quickly? No because I need this scene for my sanity. Cue angsty argument which ends with Sofia being like
âWhy do you care huh? You broke up with me and kicked me out of your house?â
âBecause I love you!â (*impassioned declaration of love from rafe!*)
âThen why did you throw it all away?â (*her veneer of anger breaks and she shows him how much he really hurt herrrr!!*)
Someone write this or I will (after I get through my requestsđđbear with me)
Yessss totally!! I need to see how she reacted to his cruel break up and how she moved on/dealt with it. I neeeeed Sofia scenes outside of rafe, and I also need rafe to yearn for her in Lisbon!! Like yes, the elite looking through the camera roll and reminiscing!! Like Rafe wistfully looking at Sofiaâs picture whilst heâs away from her and he suddenly regrets everythinggg!!!
No literally, why dedicate an episode to her family life and situationâ they need to bank on it and show her family again, make them important to Rafeâs story in some way!!
Hahahaha the topper hate is so funnyđI love Austin thoooo, but I agree, replace his characterâs screentime with someone else I BEGGG
