oh yeah i forgot to say i started gomens 2 last night w my mom. we've watched the first 2 episodes so far. mediocre at best. a few good parts but as a whole it doesn't feel like they have anything new to say and the presentation of the story compared to s1 is through the floor. they don't even have narration

Don’t get me wrong I love this show with all my heart and I’m happy that my lesbians get their ending but I feel like you can feel when a director stepped in to cut really important parts of the show. The show is still a 10/10 to me despite all of these complaints.
- I love Mel and Ekko (just needed to get that out)
- I love CaitVi with my soul, plus Cait and Vi as their own respective characters but I feel like Vi forgave her gf wayyy too quickly. Like I’m a Caitlyn defender/ lover since I played league but I feel like we brushed over a lot of her crimes ??
- like I’m happy we got a sex scene but like at the cost of Vi’s character tbh. Like what do you mean “I’ll always be the dirt under your nails” ?? Like idk I feel like there’s better ways to word “You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried” instead of DIRT. Like why is JayVik’s (no hate I love the lab partners) entire thing more like.. thought out (?) YKWIM ??
- why is Sevika in the council. ACTUALLY what happened the whole plot of Zaun vs Piltover because no way everyone was chill with working with the force that oppressed them ??
- Louis (?) is that his name (?) could’ve/should’ve been developed more. Like his death was shocking sure but also sort of plugged in ?
- idk I feel like we missed the main plot of Zaun vs Piltover and while I’m not super upset about the whole arcane/magic stuff (the scene was gorgeous, go god viktor go)
TLDR I feel like things were clearly rushed, still a really solid show. tbh, I feel like S1 was better just pacing wise. Either way, I’m sure AO3 writers are gonna cook so !

Caitlyn is so hot with the eyepatch tho omg

A VERY LONG ARCANE S2 REVIEW (Not spoiler free below page break)
Firstly, these are all my opinions and everyone is entirely entitled to their own. If you hated S2? That’s fine but I didn’t. So, I will be doing a kind of general breakdown of my thoughts on each act below but first my general review is that I think in terms of overall story telling, season 1 is better.
To ME, S2 seems like more of what they initially had in mind for the show, and they just really nailed the exposition of S1. This is what I think made S1’s pacing feel a lot better - it’s all exposition for S2. Season 2 had to fit a climax and resolution for all of these characters in the same amount of time that they took to set up all of these story lines in the previous season. I genuinely think that each act could have been it’s own season but w/ how expensive the show is to make and the amount of time production took between seasons, I see how that’s not practical. Especially if they want to explore other regions sooner than 15 years from now.
TBH I really enjoyed this season. I understand some people are hating it because of the parts they don’t like but it’s still a visually stunning show with great characters. Do I think there were areas where the story fell flat? Yes. I also think given the time constraints and restriction of this being the last season, the visual story telling was very well done and a great way to move along the story without sacrificing time. I genuinely think it’s such a phenomenal feat of animation that characters expressions convey thoughts and emotions that feel real without dialogue. I still am blown away that it’s a LoL show because despite my love of league lore and characters, I never would have expected that Riot could produce such a heart wrenching show about the tragic nature of love and loss, the things we do for love, and the flaws of our own humanity.
I also think some people set their expectations WAYYY too high for the social commentary aspect of the show after s1, as far as I’m aware there was never any claim made by any part of the prod or writing team that it would be one. Idk overall, I thought it was a lot of fun and still an exceptional show. Not what I was expecting but I’m not upset about how it ended. I think it was conclusive but also not so finite that it leaves zero room for interpretation of the characters implied futures.
It is a little disheartening to see so many immediate negative reactions to it but, again, people are entitled to their own opinions and as much as I complain about people not using critical thinking skills or passing grade 9 literature - art is subjective. Animation, ESPECIALLY at this scale and complexity, is a form of art. I, as I’m sure many other’s did, found it a fulfilling end to one of my favorite shows. Yes, I wish there was more but I can’t bring myself to be disappointed with what we did get.
Below is my (again PERSONAL and NOT SPOILER FREE) 1-10 rating and my thoughts on each act (not really going to analyze anything because I need about 3-5 weeks to scrub through every episode so only my little reviews) :
ACT 1 (7/10) : I think this act is the one with the worst pacing, but I said a whole back in a previous post that I believe to some degree it was intentional. There is suddenly a war happening so I think it’s supposed to feel chaotic a bit chaotic. However I can concede to part of it just being, well, bad pacing. This act is definitely one I wish could have taken up more episodes if there were more seasons since I would prefer flushed out development as opposed to music videos at the beginning of each episode. However, for what it was, they serve their purpose narratively and relay the information that the viewer needs to know. Otherwise, as heartbreaking as the act is, I gotta put myself on blast and say that I LOVE the end sequence of ep 3 when Ambessa makes Caitlyn commander. Like it’s so daunting and cool. Ep 1 fight scene at the memorial? super sick. I also loved the development of the dynamic between Sevika and Jinx. You can feel the characters devolve into a version of themselves that truly is worse and I think that’s so fun. Most of my drop in rating is from how fast it feels.
ACT 2: 9/10
I simultaneously have so much and so little to say. I won’t talk about Isha’s death because to me it was fairly evident that she was going to die from act 1. Anyways, for me this was the most tragic act and I’m still trying to decide between this and act 3 as my favorite. I love them both, in different ways. Seeing Jinx and Vi be brought together and Vander was so touching and sad. You get a real look of how much they still care for each other despite the fact that they’re perpetually ripped apart. I’ve already made a post about the scene between Caitlyn and Vi, so I won’t just say the same thing I’ve already said. I also honestly am not upset that Vi’s “six-ish months of going insane” wasn’t drawn out. Again, I don’t LOVE the music videos, but narratively, it tells you virtually everything you need to know about what’s happened to her and where she is mentally. It’s literally a montage of her life for the past several months. As a recovering addict and someone known to self destruct, I would much rather they condense that like they did rather than draw it out and not handle it well. If you’re going to be cynical, you could say they didn’t anyways but, recovering addict, so I was more worried before the act 2 release that it would be triggering rather than handled poorly.
Jayce coming back and tweaking out was also such a fun touch when it wasn’t explained until the next episode why he was acting that way. Like I figured it had to do with the hex crystal now fused with his body but it was still so interesting.
ACT 3: 9/10
Maybe unpopular but I LOVED this act. Everything was so visually intriguing that on my first watch I wasn’t even fully locked in just because I was focused on how good the imagery/animation is. I thought I was going to hate ep 7 because, unfortunately that leak was real (no I won’t be changing my pfp to a clown like I said I was bc I’m stubborn) but the implication to me of that episode was not “Vi dead so everything good!” it’s that they saw a kid die because of the crystals Jayce had and, in brevity, saw what the tension between the undercity and Piltover was doing to people. I am curious what happened to THAT universes Jayce but I imagine he was probably imprisoned.
Obviously, I have to address the sex scene, and honestly? I don’t mind that it’s in a jail cell BECAUSE of the very obvious parallel to how they first met. It was also done in such a wonderful way that it feels like a legitimately intimate scene between the characters and not just a “man well I suppose they need to fuck, huh.” or male gaze-y “lesbians 🤤” way.
I will be honest and say I don’t like multiverse stuff since it kind of kills the whole “arcane is cannon” thing. I also just don’t love it in general because in recent years it’s been just a cop out for companies to make more money off of IPs (see Marvel) but it makes me want to go back and rewatch s1 again to see if this has always been the plan. I don’t mind Viktor being the wizard that Jayce sees when he is a kid since they tied that up in a way thats really cool. I do think it’s an episode though that, after seeing it a couple of times, is easily skippable since it doesn’t really do a ton for the main plot. Like Ekko gets his Z drive, heimerdinger (i think?) dies, and Jayce discovers the damage hextech can do. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the episode, unfortunately it is just one that I feel like viewers can skip over upon rewatch because of the AU stuff.
Also MEL, I love her storyline with the black rose and I really hope that her putting on the Noxian clothing in the end is an indication that we will get more of her if Riot does a series based in Noxus.

“Softening the main Targ because people “love” them” is just history revisionism unless anon somehow means Jon. Dany is wayyy more aggressive and cold in the show. Her ending was planned early, so this makes sense for the show to do this bc book Dany can’t even kill hostages much less nuke a surrendered city. It almost feels like Ryan is adapting book Dany which is bizarre bc she and book Rhaenyra are about as different as you can get!
Yes, I think D&D took Jon nuances and made him a generic prototype hero. In the book he is so much more strategic than the short temper guy he is in the show, I hate the battle of the bastards and that whole arc because nothing show!Jon does after his death fits in his book version, their fanfic was always there, It Just got progressively worse when they didn't have material to adapt. I pretty sure when Jon comes back from the dead he is not going to look the same. Death always takes away something from people in asoiaf.
And in part agree to the whole Dany thing, they made her since s1, more cruel and military focused than she was in the books and taking away her connection with magic took essential part of her character and her arc. In that sense, yes, they adapted part of Dany's arc into Rhaenyra, but It does not fully works. Because both characters are supposedly care about "prophecy" and the weight of the family legacy, but Rhaenyra behavior through the first season does not reflect this. Furthermore, the arc that Rhaenyra is supposed to be copying in this season is Dany's in the book A Dance with Dragons.
Whatever the claims are completely different, because Dany is fighting against oppression and slavery and Rhaenyra is fighting for her to be queen. Thematically, ironically, Alicent is the one who borrows the most from Dany in the show. Her young version arc is a westerosi version of what Dany goes though in book one, her marriages are very much alike as well. Even the Idea of she, narratively, to be more than the mother of the one who should be "the king/The stallion who mounts the world" is present in the show.
But It does not fully works and is bizarre and disconnected because those characters are never originally thought out to be the same and neither Ryan or Sarah, despite understanding certain themes they are unable to recreate because they are not as talented as writers as Martin is. Rhaenyra is a character to be a Cersei's reflection and hint at Cersei future conflic and endgame.Alicent is her own character but being a mother still essential part of who she is and her motivation, taking that and make her sacrifice her only child is insane character murder because It took the motivation she was build up into It, It takes her character foundation. I have no idea what her story moving up because lmao what even is the story after that "queen in chains"? Just after they ended her finally reaching her "freedom".
Tumblr media
Daenerys presence on a Dance of the Dragons, It should only happens as a hidden subject, though the prophecy. Same as Jon with the Gregan And Jace pack, that they cut out for no good reason what só ever.
And the Aegon's prophecy I truly I believe it is something real, It already play a part on Dany dreams and because Martin himself said will play a part on future events so is confimed as true and canon.
GRRM: In some sense he[Aegon the Conqueror] saw what was coming 300 years later, and wanted to unify the Seven Kingdoms to be better prepared for the threat that he eventually saw coming in the north."Daenerys Targaryen is no maid, however. She is the widow of a Dothraki khal, a mother of dragons and sacker of cities, Aegon the Conqueror with teats." ADWD
Whatever I am not as sure in the book canon Viserys even know the prophecy. I think It died with Jaehaerys, and I have a strong theory of why he didn't pass that information, but, this post is to long already. I believe neither Aegon nor Rhaenyra knew about it.
The Daemon part is acually the one I believe, I stugled a lot about how this arc ended, but after analyzing and digesting, I think it makes a lot of sense for him to suport Rhaenyra after he come to sort religious experience, because is not for her, It is because he new view on the events, and that makes sense.
Either way, Sorry for my Ted talk anon, AMD thanks for sending a ask.

hello vro . . . what do you think would've happened if Kenny and Sarita had a kid between s1 and 2? idk i think it would be an interesting concept....
Baby Kenrita
No but really though-
I imagine they name them Kevin if he's a boy or Artha if she's a girl.
I feel like Kenny would possibly become an even more protective family man than he was back in Season 1, not wanting to lose his family again, and doubly so because their child is wayyy younger than Duck was.
So I assume we can picture how he was with AJ, but on steroids. Not ignoring how when AJ eventually does arrive, he amplifies Papa Kenny mode.
Get this old ass DILF and his kids on a BOAT. NOW. ⛈⛈⛈
(everyone's invited to add onto this idea I love it thnks u morbius ballson)

hello! daily morgana pendragon deserves the world. also, i'm very curious to see what you think a morgana and lena interaction would look like! i feel like the universe would break. oh! this is me realizing they both have something against their brothers. what a nice realization to have! anyway, just wondering what you think that might look like :)
DAILY REMINDER THAT MORGANA PENDRAGON DESERVES THE WORLD!
i'm so sorry it took me THIS LONG to get to replying to this but i wanted to do it JUSTICE cause i love this ask with all my heart it speaks to my very soul :)) (i do apologize for this getting really really long, though)
lena and morgana!! they're so similar and yet so different at the same time it's so awesome to delve into their characters and try to dissect what's happening in those brilliant heads of theirs like i could write thesis papers analyzing their characters without ever getting bored. they're just so special to me :,)
what would an interaction between them look like, though? hmmmm i guess it depends on the context of the interaction like why would they be in the same room in the first place? has morgana been reincarnated? what is she doing in national city? or is lena the one who crossed the pond and went to england? are we talking canon s6 lena who has magic? has she gone to england to get closer to her witch ancestors? IS MORGANA HER WITCH ANCESTOR? DID SHE ACCIDENTALLY/ON PURPOSE RAISE HER FROM THE DEAD? i think the concept of morgana being lena's ancestor is super interesting cause it would influence lena's opinion on arthur and merlin and camelot in general. so, if we consider the connection between them ancestral, i think their interactions would be reverent (at least on lena's end) and morgana would (maybe after initial reluctance or hostility) sort of accept lena as her descendant and her protégé and teach her all sorts of magic. lena's part in helping morgana adjust to the modern world would also be a huge aspect i feel like cause morgana would be so confused with modern technology and the fact that technically there are no more "kingdoms" and camelot is no more so what exactly is her purpose in this modern world? lena helping her through that (or at least trying to) would form a huge part of their relationship i think.
buuuuuut if the context is different like maybe lena has discovered a way to time travel and she finds herself in camelot or in the woods around morgana's s4 cabin and morgana happens to stumble upon her there, it would be different. because WHY is there a woman in morgana's image in the STRANGEST clothes walking around with glowing objects (technology) that aren't inherently magical (morgana can't feel the magic in them) but MUST be because this isn't just something anyone can conjure up?? no matter the time we're talking (s1/2/3/4) i feel like morgana would react very negatively until lena can earn her trust or at least convince her she's not a sick joke merlin/emrys is playing on morgana. i also think lena would be wayyy out of her depth in medieval england like yeah she's a genius but she eats salads and fast food and has a bajillion-dollar penthouse equipped with all the latest technologies so living without the luxuries of the modern world would be a CHALLENGE even for her so i think it'd be fun to see morgana's reaction to lena absolutely STRUGGLING to get through her day.
once we're past the logistics of the interaction and the awkward introductions and general initial animosity phase and they FINALLY get to talking, they'll have lots of things in common. like you mentioned, they both have this innate hatred for their brothers, but with lena, lex has caused her unimaginable trauma and pain and despite all of that she's managed to get back up and say to his face that yeah she hates him but she loves herself more and that she's finally letting go of that hatred to go live her life. with morgana, however, that hatred for arthur has become all-consuming, even though it only stemmed from uther sort of unknowingly pitting them against each other forever by acknowledging arthur as his son and heir but never morgana. morgana's hatred for uther extended to arthur and when uther died, arthur became the sole recipient of that hatred. unlike lena, morgana doesn't have anyone to pull her out of the darkness, to show her that even when family fails to understand you and/or accept you, there are friends who will. she doesn't have that support system, and so she succumbs to the darkness and the hate and lets it eat away at her soul. this is where they differ, in my opinion, lena had a support system and the innate strength to stop the generational trauma cycle, while morgana had neither (doomed by the narrative from the start maybe i'll just cry).
this part's a bit controversial cause it depends on your headcanons and who you ship and stuff but another thing i feel was detrimental is UNREQUITED LOVE. lena's half-hearted "villain" arc only happened when she found out that her best friend had been keeping such a huge part of her identity from her (which isn't something you would do to someone you love) so she was like fuck it i'm going to fix humanity cause you guys SUCK. but when she eventually realized that wait, maybe kara does actually love her and care about her and she didn't entirely mean to hurt her (whether you read it as platonic or romantic, her love was requited) she went back and apologized and everything (even though she didn't need to apologize she's never done anything wrong in her life). morgana's brand might as well just be unrequited love, on the other hand. it goes as far back as her biological father (bro didn't even acknowledge her as his daughter), and extends to pretty much everyone she may or may not have been in love with (whether you ship her with gwen (the only right answer) or merlin or even the dumbass alvarr guy). she's been made to feel unlovable her whole life and at some point she believes it and takes it at face-value as the truth, and that's part of what pushes her to extremes like the ones she goes to in the show. ("if i can't have love, i want power"). with both gwen and merlin they're both so devotedly loyal to arthur that even if i were in her shoes i'd get pissed off, so, since she doesn't believe that they'll ever be loyal to her just because, she tortures and brainwashes merlin to get him to do her bidding, and she kidnaps gwen and brainwashes her to get her "old friend" back, because, in the state that she's in by s5, she doesn't believe that anyone will ever be devoted to her for HER, so she forces them to be. this concept of never having love requited voluntarily plays such a huge part in shaping morgana's character and making her that much different from lena, in my opinion.
i could go on and on about the implications of the dark tower episode and every word morgana said to gwen, but that's a story for another post because this one is already getting waaay too long.
ANYWAY i may have strayed from the point a few times BUT I JUST HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THEM, OKAY? thank you so much for this ask it was so much fun to answer and AS ALWAYS if you want to further discuss morgana or lena or both and speculate on how they would meet/interact i'm always up for a fun discussion 😼

I don't think I've requested this yet so here I am
Could you please write s1 groups reaction to a young reader (like, 9 years old or smth) looking after a toddler, sort of 1-3 year old? Like, the reader is the sort of kid that's depressingly wise beyond their years. Sort of like dynamic between clem and aj (s3) except the reader is wayyy younger than clem was in s3. (IF possible, could you add Carley and Lillys reactions too? If not for any reason that is perfectly fine)
Have a good day, hope you're well 💗💗💗
Hi! Sorry I didn’t get to this earlier😭I hope you enjoy it though!💗
Tumblr media
Let’s say one day Lee and Kenny went on a run to find food
While they’re in an old store, they hear something fall over
You had accidentally knocked over a can
The toddler you were looking after got scared of the noise and started crying
“Shhh!”
But it was too late
Lee and Kenny had found you
They immediately brought you and your toddler back to the motel
Lee had assumed your guys parents had gotten bit, or maybe you ran away or got lost from them
He takes care of both of you
But sometimes feels like he doesn’t need to since you’re so smart
Sometimes he gets a bit scared of how smart you are
You were a 9 year old with the knowledge of someone way older than you
He’s super impressed with your knowledge though
And he takes care of you either way
Tumblr media
When Kenny and Lee found you, Kenny wasn’t that surprised
He saw two little kids with no parents, a common sight to see in the apocalypse
But he noticed how smart you were
You knew how to survive
And you knew how to care for a young child
Even though you were also one yourself
Like Lee, he’s impressed with how smart you are
But he finds it sad too, because he knows how you probably gained that knowledge
He also finds it incredible how well you care for kids
Even kids your age or older
Tumblr media
Clementine DEFINITELY looks up to you
You’re like an older sister for her
Even though you’re the same age
You know as much as Lee or Kenny does
She asks you to teach her how to care for the toddler with you
You teach her about taking care of children and survival
Clem loves hearing you talk about caring for kids or stories about outside the walls of the motel
Tumblr media
Katjaa finds it so sad how much you know:(
But she loves taking care of your toddler with you
She would never ask what happened to you and your toddlers parents but would try and be like a mother figure for you
She’ll babysit your toddler so you can be a kid again
“I’ll watch them, play with Clem and Duck. It’s ok.”
She loves taking care of you
Brushing your hair, Finding you things on runs, Sharing her foods she knows you like
Tumblr media
Ben finds it so sad:(
He’s shocked you know more about survival than him
And that you know so much about caring for your toddler
He would never ask about your parents
He knows what it’s like
He might be like an older brother to you
Tumblr media
Carley would immediately feel terrible for you and your toddler!:(
She tries getting you and Clem to get closer to be friends
But understands if you don’t want to
She’ll take care of your toddler with you
Her and Lee might be like parental figures for you and your toddler
She feels so bad about your parents though
Tumblr media
S1 Lilly liked kids, in the flashbacks with Clementine she was so sweet
She’ll keep her “tough girl” act around her dad though
She’ll take care of your toddler if you need her too
And will protect you (if you need it)
She admires how skilled you are
But finds it so sad at the same time
She probably won’t act as a mother figure for you

Finally returning to Tumblr after a long vacation because I’ve got the brainrots all over again.
So I’ve gotta say it. Ed didn’t really mean it.
Ed didn't really feel that sleeping with Stede was a mistake. He may have wished that things had unfolded differently, but he absolutely does not regret the act itself. But also, there was nothing shocking or out of character about Ed's decision to leave.
1) While the wall-slam definitely caught him offguard - he came to Stede's room likely just expecting to offer comfort and lighten the man's spirits after a traumatic event - he absolutely consented to what ended up happening. I love that they gave us that tiny, nearly-imperceptible-but-definitely-there moment when Stede waits to see how Ed will react, and Ed looks into Stede's eyes and nods.
2) Ed seemed 1000% happy and satisfied the morning after. There's no sense of regret in their conversation in bed. But, in typical Ed fashion, he goes "all in" wayyy too quickly, seemingly incapable of stopping himself. We saw it back in S1 with the "I'm folding socks and that's okay" conversation. One taste of life with Stede and he's ready to chuck his entire identity overboard... AGAIN.
3) After the emotional rollercoaster of the previous 24 hours, my man is a total mess. If you think that we, the fandom, are experiencing some seriously painful whiplash, just think of how it must feel for Ed - he had to watch the love of his life being tortured, then watch him make an enormous mistake (killing Ned), immediately followed by finally experiencing the loving intimacy and desire he's craved all his life. So he decides in the morning to leave everything behind, his whole persona, and make a clean break because that's the only thing he knows how to do. But he has no regrets about doing so, telling Izzy it feels "fantastic".
4) At first, Ed doesn't seem to mind that Stede is enjoying the spotlight, even giving him pointers of how to deal with fame. At this point he's still hoping that Stede will be able to have his moment and walk away, not realizing quite how much Stede has wanted to be "known" (remember "you've heard of me"?) and respected his whole life.
5) As all of this unfolds, he has a series of incredibly harsh realizations - and he knows how this will end. Piracy only ends one way: violence and death. If they stay together, it is very likely that he would have to watch Stede die a horrible death. He can't deal with that idea at ALL. It's the same reaction he had in S1 when Stede is about to die by firing squad. Ed would give anything to save Stede's life, but he comes to understand that Stede is on a self-imposed trajectory that ends in death (much as Ed himself was in the beginning of S2 - these boys are SO much alike, which is why it's so painful that they never quite seem to get on the same page). He doesn't try to talk Stede out of this trajectory because he already tried that tactic the night before - telling Stede not to kill Ned - and Stede ignored him and did it anyway, which really had to sting.
6) He's feeling a lot of the same things that Stede felt at the end of S1 - that he's ruined the man he loves, that he's been nothing but a bad influence, and the only way to set things right is to remove himself from the situation entirely. So Ed does the only thing he knows how to do - make a clean break, reducing the damage as much as possible by saying something that makes it feel final: "I think last night was a mistake." But he's lying. We all know he's lying. I think even Stede knows it, since he calls Ed out for panicking - which is absolutely the truth, but that doesn't stop everything that's been set in motion.
Bonus: It's interesting to me that you end up with a similar situation as in the end of Good Omens 2 - you have these two people who obviously love each other more than anything, and desperately want to be together, but in the end, they each end up feeling betrayed - feeling that their partner is choosing a different life over them.
Bonus 2: The episode's title is Man on Fire - on the surface it's a reference to the dude who gets literally set on fire, but thematically the Man on Fire here is undeniably Stede. He's "on fire", having finally made it big as a pirate. But Ed craves the cool relief of the water. He's drawn to the life of a fisherman, and he imagines Stede as a merman. But water will kill you just as quickly as fire, if you thrown yourself into the deep end. Both of them are drawn to extremes, when what they really need is to meet each other in the middle (Izzy even says that they balance each other out - the most astute and accurate way to sum up their whole deal).
This went on wayyyyy too long and I’m sorry. I can’t think about anything else today. 😂

I have a lot to say about the latest jjk episode but it’s mostly “that was so cool” to “I am so sad” that i don’t feel like making entire in-depth posts about it so im just putting a list here for myself
manga and episode spoilers
There’s certain parts where I’m slightly torn between the anime and manga. I said this last episode, but this episode captured the feelings and intensity of the manga while making it completely different. The animation went more stylistic and it changed things to be more abstract. Which is great! If things are going to be different, I want it to be a fresh experience. Still though, some scenes (the Uraume encounter, Malevolent Shrine, etc) were drawn beautifully in the manga and I love the expressions and details there. So I’m happy I read the manga too
The ost over the fight,,, incredible. The bell (?) chimes were the cherry on top
I already know my friend is going to complain about this episode’s animation since they hated parts of last ep, but honestly I love whatever was happening this episode. The choice of colors and direction was unsettling and (naturally) felt otherworldly. Mahoraga and Sukuna are both “divine” in their powers and presence, so making the world plunge into distorted chaos was great to see. The manga page used paneling to show Sukuna’s slicing, so the messy painted look to this ep was suuuch a good choice to do instead
To add onto that point, imo this season adapts the style of the manga a bit better than season 1, especially when the animation looks rough or has solid colors. I love s1’s animation almost as much, but some of the way the characters were animated (gojo without his mask, kenjaku, etc) weren’t my favorite. Jujusanpo is perfect though
That train scene was FUN
It is frustratingly clear in hindsight that Sukuna wanted to have Megumi’s technique. Although I do think he appreciates Megumi’s personality and strength to some degree (let’s ignore the torment Megumi is going through in the manga). Wayyy more than Yuuji at least, so no wonder he wanted to possess Megumi instead
Malevolent kitchen was definitely a choice the people subtitling made
I get the opening song at the end, but I don’t love it. I still was shocked, so it wasn’t that bad.
Yuuji broke my heart and that Yuuji to Sukuna transition at the start,,, 🫠 incredible that it just does not get better for him

My personal unpopular go2 opinions go
Good omens 2 spoilers below
1. I was really confused as to why they re cast the women playing the nuns and madame Tracy as other characters?? I thought there will be a big reveal where after Armageddon't there was some reset to earth or something.
2.idk the reason for cast change but I hate the fact they yassified beelzebub. I loved the s1 cast way better.
3. What was the point of Muriel?? Being dumb? They already showed how angels know nothing of humans customs in every scene where there are angels on earth without Muriel and Metatron could've sent any angel to gaurd the book shop seeing as Aziraphale didn't know Muriel all that well.
Tbh I'm biased bc I hate characters who only exist to be silly/goofy/clueless.
4. Honestly in s1 it felt like every character had an important role in the story, they were all connected in some way to each other.
Here some characters were there just bc they worked on the same street?? Um....
5. There was way less magical / mystical stuff happening :-(
I absolutely loved Adam's little whims changing things on earth and Newton's horrid luck with technology just because.
6. Felt like there was way less humor? Or at least not in the same way as in s1. Also the editing and pacing felt wayyy different
All in all I did enjoy it and I'm very happy we'll get more good omens in the future :-)
Just being nitpicky

Do you think Musa tends to be clingy and how does Riven reacts?
Yes to the first one and um that second one requires some explaining
The short answer is that he likes it
On to the rambling
Listen both Riven and Musa have hella attachment and abandonment issues. Both Musa and Riven actively try to push people away or try to seem cool and scary to get people to leave them alone
Musa rebuffs Stella's friendship attempts in s1 like it was her personal mission, and we all know what Riven was like
Like Musa's mother died, which was not good for her mental health, but what really fucked her over was her dad's immediate reaction and withdrawal from her personal life as he was still working most of the day. It gave her the idea that people aren't reliable, being the source of both her attachment and abandonment issues. Unfortunately due to her dad being up to his eyelids in grief his care of Musa was inconsistent, leading to more attachment issues
For Riven it's fairly simple. His mom straight up walked out on his family, and his brother and father weren't much better people than her. He has hella abandonment and attachment issues
Now, the thing about attachment and abandonment issues is that most people with them will start withdrawn (See: Musa never offers her thoughts about missions in s1, Riven actively pushes everyone away constantly in s1), and then they become the most clingy mother fuckers to ever grace a relationship (See: Musa acting like Riven and her were already dating in s2, and just s3 and general)
Source: me and all of my friends <3
The thing is both Riven and Musa are fucking clingy as hell which makes them both less clingy
Which doesn't make sense unless you have these issues yourself so allow me to explain
When you have these issues you have a hard time becoming close to people, you're scared to let people in, and you're not used to having a relationship, so when you do finally find someone you want to be close with, it's an immediate panic to keep them from abandoning you. Which is mostly looking for reasons they would abandon you, and getting sad and jealous over really normal things
(The jealous is mostly a fear of replacement, I have that one bad and so does Riven. I think Musa has that one too but it's not caused by her family, if her "I'm not like other girls" behavior has a cause like it did for most people I know. Which is from ostracization)
The thing is you don't really believe anyone could love you as much as you love them, and no one is ever as loyal as you. How could they be? Everyone else has abandoned you when you were just trying your best. This, unsurprisingly either causes apathy or just more clinginess. Maybe if I try a little harder it will all be ok, god I love that song
Anyways, the fun thing about being clingy so someone doesn't leave you and being jealous because you've been replaced before it can happen again, is that when someone shows the same behaviors it's like....oh, you care as much as me and you're afraid of the same thing. I don't need to be afraid with you because your like me
AND THATS WHATS GOING ON THERE
So Musa's clinginess is at it's worse in s2 because there in this weird in-between stage and Riven is just wayyy to in his own head about Darcy trauma to be in a relationship rn. So she's at her most terrified that he'll leave her. While Riven, for once in his life, isn't scared that he'll be abandoned. Look at what Musa is doing! Those aren't the actions of someone who's planning on finding someone better and never talking to him again! Musa's clinginess makes Riven feel safe in the relationship, for once he doesn't think it's just going to disappear one day
Anyways Riven (clinically) dies for Musa, she has like 3 separate mental breakdowns, and he wakes up. They're dating now!
She begins to be super clingy at him (tho not as clingy as before bc he was willing to die for her and that has to mean he's less likely to abandon her right? Yes, yes it does bby) and Riven like does not mind at all for the above reasons, which makes her feel safe and comfortable, like her fear and affection isn't going to be punished for existing. Which is good for her
Now because Riven is comfortable he is going to be saying shit like "you're stuck with me forever", "you can't get rid of me now", and talking about future plans. Idk if other people find this cute but this is how people with abandonment issues express affection when they feel safe soo, yeah. Musa eventually asks about this, Riven explains that, yes, he is equally obsessed with her as she is with him. He just doesn't openly express it as much because he feels secure in their relationship. This realization makes Musa feel secure in their relationship and she just stops being as clingy. Like she still really really likes attention, but she's not as clingy anymore. Because she isn't scared—you get it
They've hit this equilibrium where their issues kind of cancel each other out because of course they're not going to abandon each other! Look at how fucking attached to each other they are! No one puts this much effort in just to leave. So they're just chilling
This right here is why I love Rivusa, when two people with hella issues find safety and security. I cri every time

whenever I read a lovely fic (it's mostly the ineffable husbands nowadays) I read a character's lines in their voice in my head, except this often doesn't work with Aziraphale and his voice is replaced by either Stede Bonnet's or even worse, Tom Scott's, which is interesting because
a) the whole two souls in one vessel thing in s1 (not in wwdits that shit was horrifying) which makes it kind of fit into the universe, but more importantly
b) some of the things that are bound to happen in fics are wayyy stranger and more cursed with Tom Scott and Crowley instead of Aziraphale and I'm sorry I put that image in your mind (but also kind of not)

Hello! :3
I have seen, things of the magnus archives that you have posted and would like to know if I should watch it (and I wanna give you an excuse to talk about it of course)
So, what is the magnus archives, where can I observe it, and would you reccomend watching it?
Ohohoh why hello there >:3
you should DEFINITELY get into tma, and I'm not biased at all, nope! I do recommend it a lot tho, it's very very good, very well written and produced. Rusty Quill, the creators of this magnificent piece of art, put a lot of thought and detail into it, and a lot of passion as well. you'll not regret listening to it (unless if you'd rather keep yourself sane, but why would someone want that, amrite? <- says with huge bags under its eyes from countless sleepless nights)
So, the podcast is about this guy who works at the Magnus Institute, in London, a place that researches the paranormal. Jon Sims, our main character, works at the Archives, reading statements and sending his assistants to look further into the ones he deems as legitimate. As the story progresses, you start noticing some... patterns within the statements he reads, some names appear more often than not, some people are involved with more than they appear (or want) to be, as well as some spooky stuff happening to the members of the archives. your fears are more powerful than you think :)
oh, you might be interested to know that there are (multiple!) queer characters in this as well :D horror and queer, what other reason do you need to start listening to this asap??
anyway, the story is told through the recordings of the statements, but it goes wayyy beyond that. I won't lie, I struggled a bit through the first season bc the pacing is a bit slower (as it goes at the beginning of any story, yk), but then I got eager and eager to understand what tf was going on and couldn't stop listening. there's 200 episodes + some very cool extras. 5 seasons total, 40 eps each. I think it's around 20-30 min each episode. I listened to it on Spotify, but they're also on YouTube and other platforms. iirc they added trigger warnings on the description of each episode, it is a story about fear, after all, so keep an eye out.
I think thats pretty much it, I'm trying to say as much as I can without spoiling anything. speaking of which, you might want to filter spoilers here. unfortunately 'tma spoilers' is not enough, some people only tag for each season, I had to filter like 'tma season 1', 'tma s1 spoilers' and other variations, which was annoying. specially bc some people don't tag spoilers at all, and I'll be forever salty for getting spoiled for the finale.
anyways, if your want to ask me anything else and share your thoughts pls pls do, I'll be delighted :D you might've seen me, static, lilith and some others headcanon-ing and assigning jrwi characters with tma stuff, and I would love to know what you think as well :3

OKAYOKAYOKAY BUT THESE GIFS SHOW ONE OF THE MOST FASCINATING ASPECTS OF AMITYS CHARACTER I think aaaa I think people think of Amity through a wayyy too rose-tinted view for the backhalf of s2 Im not saying she didnt change from s1 oh no she 100% did But she hasnt changed completely Shes trying her best!!! She really is! But one simple gaining of a girlfriend and change of hairstyle isnt enough to instantly make her lose her old habits of being. well. a prick She wasnt trying to be condescending here, she thought she was genuinely complementing the friend she wants to make amends with! Like, look at her genuine fear and concern for Willow in the second gif, she 100% cares for her. But she misread it and ended up saying that. The point ive been trying to make in this ramble is that changing is really, really hard, and it doesnt happen instantly, no matter how flowery we paint Amity as being after s2e2. She doesnt go from "asshole" to "gay mess" to "very good person" instantly, shes a complex character who takes time to come to her own conclusions and change, and has more than 1 defining character trait at a time was any of this coherent
