I always enjoy writing your requests! I must apologize that it took me this long since I was doing the Don't Imagine requests, but it's here now. (Side note: I have a couple of those that still need finishing but I took a small break from writing this week.) I hope you like this.

Undertale: Classic (Sans) & Vanilla (Papyrus)

Classic

- He was about to head out to pick up Frisk from school and wouldn't have even put a scarf on if his brother hadn't insisted on it. The cold goes right through him after all... He's a little taken aback when you offer to tie it but he lets you since he likes seeing you happy. Although, the bow is a little...childish. He's not a babybones, okay? He'll wait to untie it until he's out of sight so he doesn't hurt your feelings.

- The mild flirting does get him to blush a little. Shucks, he's not sure how to react to that except to make a pun about his presence. He definitely can't untie the bow now, not with how sincere you were. He leaves none the wiser with a bit of a spring in his step.

- It's only an hour later that he remembers the guinea pig and realizes that you purposely distracted him. He's still impressed by the pun but he's also not sure why you did it. He doesn't care if you've collected another pet, so long as it's properly looked after anyways. If anything, he just got another nap buddy. Do guinea pigs even take naps? Eh, he'll ask you about it later.

Vanilla

- He was on his way to meet Undyne for a "training" session (really just a glorified snow fight) and had started putting on his winter gear when you offered to help. He explains that unlike his brother, he doesn't need assistance with this sort of thing but humours your odd request with a smile. He's a little taken aback when you decide to tie his scarf into a bow but can't deny that he actually likes it. He almost wishes he'd worn his scarf like this as a babybones.

- He blushes a little and manages a quiet "nyeheheh", although it takes him a second to realize that you weren't just flirting and also made a clever pun. He's rather impressed that you managed to trick him like that and he'll be thinking of a way to get you back for the rest of the day. He might get a little more flustered than he normally would when Undyne inevitably asks why his scarf is tied the way it is.

- He noticed the guinea pig immediately but didn't get a chance to ask about it in the moment. He'll be sure to ask you about it later and will be overjoyed at your name choice. He's also curious about how you care for a guinea pig and wonders if it would be lonely by itself. Maybe you should get it a friend?

Underfell: Crimson (Sans) & Scar (Papyrus)

Crimson

- He's of the opinion that he doesn't need a scarf and that he looks silly with one anyways. He's only stepping out for some fresh air and even if the weather does turn, he's been through worse. He only relents when you start to pout and mutters under his breath about how he really should start saying no to you. Unfortunately for you, he absolutely hates the bow and protests that you're going to ruin his reputation. He tears it off immediately and storms out, although it's obvious that he's more embarrassed than angry.

- He's blushing but more from embarrassment than your flirting attempt. He'll cool off by the time he gets back but it gives him plenty of time to think of a way to embarrass you in return so you better watch out.

- Fortunately, the distraction was very effective and he's completely surprised when he eventually does find out about the guinea pig. He's a little weirded out by it but ultimately deems it not his problem. You've been good about looking after your bunnies so it'll probably be fine. Just, keep it away from him? He's not keen on rodents, even if it's a lot cuter than most are.

Scar

- He was about to go check on the goats since one is about to give birth any day now when you offered to help him with his scarf. At first, he didn't understand what you were asking since he knows perfectly well how to tie one. When you still insist on helping him, he gets suspicious but bends down enough so you can reach. He almost laughs when you tie it in a bow and gives you a bit of a patronizing pat on the head. He explains that he's too old for that now but he appreciates your efforts to make him feel special. He unties the bow afterwards and leaves with a smile.

- It's only when he's inside the barn that he allows his composure to break. Why do you have to be so cute?! It was a corny attempt at flirting but it still left his soul fluttering. He'll eventually think of a way to respond that is equally as clever.

- He noticed the guinea pig but was too focused on remaining in control of his emotions to say anything. He'll casually bring it up later on, possibly catching you by surprise, and make sure you're aware of how much work it can be to look after it. You do know that they're social animals and should have a companion so it won't be lonely, right? And don't even think about putting it in the same enclosure as your bunnies or he'll lecture you about that too.

Underswap: Blue (Sans) & Saffron (Papyrus)

Blue

- He was off to work when you stopped him and asked to tie his scarf. He starts to say no but you immediately put on puppy eyes and he can't bear the thought of making you upset. He's a grown skeleton and doesn't normally like being fussed over like this. He blushes at how close you're standing and can't bring himself to look at you directly. The bow really doesn't help him calm down either.

- He was already blue in the face but your attempt at flirting only made it worse. He doesn't know how to respond and bashfully rubs the back of his skull. At least he now knows you were being clever and not infantilizing him, intentionally or not. He's pleased as punch while driving to work afterwards and only unties the bow when he arrives.

- He was much too flustered to even register that you were holding a guinea pig and only remembered when he got home in the evening. He's ecstatic about the new addition to the household and finds their name rather amusing. He's curious about the differences between a guinea pig and a rabbit so you better be prepared to answer a lot of questions.

Saffron

- He only wanted to step outside for a smoke break when you ambushed him and insisted that he wear a scarf. At first, he attempts to weasel his way out of it and makes a few puns to distract you. Unfortunately, you're equally as stubborn and physically loop it around his vertebrae. He relents after that but not without commenting that he's not a babybones anymore. He's actually stunned when you tie the scarf into a bow and stands there silently as you leave.

- Once he gets over the shock, he's secretly very impressed. You got him good and he's not so sure he can top that. He ends up playing with the ends of the scarf instead of doing what he originally planned to. You're too good to him and he finds his soul swelling with joy afterwards.

- He definitely saw the guinea pig but was too distracted to dwell on it. He'll hide his surprise when you eventually tell him about it but he doesn't mind the new addition. The name gets him to snicker a little and he can't help but ask why you're like this. He's not complaining though; you make his life better just by being in it. He'll pay close attention to how you care for it so you don't have to worry if you aren't able to for whatever reason.

Have you always wondered that you really wish that undertale would also gets it’s own adaptation since cuphead and fnaf gets it’s own

I actually hope undertale never gets an adaptation outside of the video game format! The game is so intrinsically tied to the fact that it is a video game I dont know how you would adapt it.

Games like Cuphead, Fnaf and Mario's plots arent as tied to their video game mechanics like Undertale's plot is.

Entire plot points and characters just would not work (Like Flowey's entire character, resetting, choosing to spare or kill etc.). The whole story hinges on what you the player chose to do and that gets thrown out the window when you are watching something.

The active role the player has in shaping the story by sparing or killing cannot be replicated by a passive watching audience. Not in a way I think has the same impact anyway. Your choices are what make Undertale what it is.

Sure the story its self is very good! Outside of the mechanics. But a lot of the emotional battles like Asriel, Omega Flowey, Sans or Asgore are so inextricably tied to flipping the mechanics you have learnt on its head to illicit a reaction (see, Asgore breaking the Mercy button in a pacifist run through. You cannot spare him despite having done so for every other character. This is shocking to the player and I dont think it could work the same in a different format).

Or okay let's take the entire Omega flowey fight. What save points is he drawing back on to move you or kill you over and over when it is in film format? Who's save file does he discard when you cant make a save file when watching a movie? How about when he crashes the game after you die? How would you implement that into a film? You really cant.

How would you explain the ethics around resetting if you are unable to actively reset? You would not be able to relate to Flowey, get that gut punch in genocide when you realise you have become just like him after resetting and slaughtering all of your friends. When watching a tv show or movie YOU are not doing anything, the character on the screen is, you are just an onlooker with no ability to alter the story.

Toby wants it to feel like you're playing with these characters like toys you can discard, love or damage whenever you want and makes you think about the ethics around that. Characters in a video game feel a lot more like playing with toys than watching a film does, because in a video game you are able to make an impact on what they say or do. While in a film characters have a set script, you have no impact, there are no choices you have to make aside from keep watching.

Undertale's Metanarrative is woven into it's very being. By separating it from the video game format I feel like you are just gutting it of what made it special in the first place. You would have to rework it so much, I feel like you'd might as well just write a whole new story.

Does this make sense? Its 1 am while I'm writing this so I hope I'm not talking in circles.

I sat on the floor of my box flooded house just staring at the ceiling not knowing what to do from here. Where was i gonna work, what if no one would hire me, what if- i cut off my own thought realizing i was thinking into it to much and i be just fine on my own

Though it did worry me and stress me out to a point. Normally, when i was stressed, i smoked, and right now was no exception. So i hopped in my Jeep Wrangler and tried to find the closest smoke shop and headed in not sure what i was even gonna get yet.

I opened the door and say a group of 3 guys laughing loudly and just being annoying. "Great.." i said under my breath. I walked around the small store generally trying to avoid the group of 3, but as i decided what i wanted and turned to walk to the from i was abruptly stopped as i bumped right into a tall guys chest.

"Oh my god im so sorry i wasnt paying attention!" I tried to explain a little scared of the tall figure "no no no its ok its my fault" he replyed quickly, not sure what to say i stand infront of him not saying anything "im issac"

"Oh, im y/n.." you said, looking at your feet. "Those 2 over there are tanner and yumi" he said, pointing at the remaining guys over by the gummies. Yumi? I said it my head. What an unusual name, never head it before. "Oh ok, well, im sorry again for bumping into you," i aay and start to go around the man now known to be issac. "Hey wait uh y/n" he said blocking me from going any further "we where gonna have a get together with a couple other friends ar out house, you should come" i act like im thinking about it " i dont know.." i say since im not sure if i should just go into this strangers house, i don't even know him.

"Here hand me your phone" i give him a confused look "just let me see it real quick" i slowly pull my phone out open it and hand it to him "here" i say quitly. He starts typing on it and hands it back "if you change your mind i gave you my number and texted you my address" i look down at my phone and low and behold there it was. I look at the address and realize its the house directly next to mine

"Ya ill text you.." i say and he walks away along with the other 2 guys he named off as tanner and yumi.

Summary: After working together on a project you invited him out to a cafe to celebrate

So unlike him to smile, actually I didn't even think he was capable of that, but hey! live and learn.

Zuko's face falls as his eyes flicker with realization. He replied "Sorry No." He sent me an apologetic look as he started to walk away again.

"Hey! what?" I called out to him, following not far behind. "What?" He replies, not even bothering to turn his head.

"Well I would've thought you would give me an explanation?"

He looks at me with a deadpan expression, "What? Explanation for what?"

We continued walking along the sidewalk, as I tried to budge out of him an answer, sure it wasn't really our business.. but it was really fun to annoy him.

"I offered to hang out at an awesome cafe! I find it very suspicious of you to decline.." I replied, rubbing my chin slightly with my hands, as If I was thinking.

"Are you meeting up with someone?"

"What? No– I.. Why would you even think that?!" He exclaimed, crossing his arms together as he scoffed, walking a little bit faster.

"Ooh interesting reaction!"

"Argh! Don't you have something better to do?"

I caught up to him, as I smiled in response, "Nope!" he rolled his eyes, turning his head to me. "If you must know–"

Silence followed as I stared at him blankly, before bursting out in laughter. Zuko got more annoyed as he turned straight ahead, "Seriously?!"

"Wait– Pfft! I'm sorry–" I try to explain, still a bit lightheaded from laughing, as I held my stomach briefly before taking a huge sigh.

I heard him scoff as I followed his pace, "I just– I didn't expect you to be working" his face looked puzzled as he looked at me.

"What? What do you mean by that?"

"I mean– I never would have guessed you would work a day in your life! Is the money good?"

His face shifted into one of uncertainty as he answered, "I don't get paid, if that's what you're implying."

"What? So wait– its charity work?" I replied looking at him dumbfounded, and I could swear I saw a smile on his lips as I said that.

"You can say that, but I prefer to call it family business."

I fell quiet for a moment as I tried to grasp my head around the new found fact about Zuko and his somewhat mysterious life.

"Aren't you going to your silly cafe? Why are you still following me"

I scrunched my nose at his comment as I retorted, "Dont flatter yourself, I am going to the cafe, which happens to be this way."

I could feel him staring at me before turning his focus back to the road, "What cafe was it again?" Zuko asked, his hands falling into his pockets.

"Uh.. The Jasmine Dragon, Why?"

"You've got to be kidding me.." He replies, his voice so low I could barely catch what he said. "What?"

"Wait.. do you work at the Jasmine Dragon?!"

"Shut up." His voice was quick to shut your teasing down, turning his head slightly away, so you couldn't see the obvious flustered state he was in.

Zuko would have never thought to have his private life be exposed today, frankly to have even come this far without being discovered by the other students were incredible by itself.

"You didn't tell me you worked here!"

"Why should I." Zuko replied almost immediately, making me turn my head to him.

"I went here a couple of times already, how come I didn't see you?"

A huge grin on my face as I replied, "Guess your luck ran out!"

The man, presumably his uncle just laughed, his voice echoing from behind the counter, "I'm sorry Zuko, but I am just surprised is all."

"Surprised at what? I didn't do anything!" Zuko whispered as he continued to wipe the front counters, trying to keep quiet as to not let you hear.

"Well I didn't think you'd bring a Lady friend–" his uncle laughed and glanced over him, an embarrassed expression on his face, Zuko held his breath like a child.

I watched the interaction unfold, before bringing my attention back to the window. The shop was fairly quiet this time of day, I wonder why that is?

My train of thought was broken, when suddenly the man walked right up my table with a warm smile on his face.

"uncle!–"

"Hello dear, I hope you're enjoying your food?" The man asked, his hands kept in a poised manner as he looked at me. "Oh, yes! It was delicious."

He nodded at my response, turning his head back briefly before shifting his attention back to the conversation, "Forgive me if I'm rude.. but I saw you entering with my nephew.."

"–Could you be his girlfriend by any chance?"

I was taken aback by the bluntness his uncle had, straight to the point I see. I choked back my cup of tea, as I looked at him in a panic

"Oh! Oh– Geez no, its not like that!" I replied, setting my cup down as I waved my arms in defence. For a split second I could've sworn I saw his smile falter for a moment.

"We're just.. We're partners– project partners." He nodded, following my movements carefully. "Do you mind?" The man asked, gesturing the seat in front of me.

I shook my head, grabbing my cup as the man took a seat. "I see.. then forgive me for speculating, it's just that my nephew doesn't usually bring friends here"

The man continued his sentence, "I'm just really excited to finally see him break out of his shell!" He exclaimed.

He continued to fawn over Zuko, and boy how much did this man love him. His face was filled with so much excitement and endearment towards his nephew.

I was beginning to wonder if this man really was blood related to Zuko. The huge contrast between him and his uncle was Drastic, to say the least.

"..I'm so glad Zuko has a friend like you, you seem like such a nice person!" His face looks at me for a moment, "I never got your name young miss..?"

"Oh, its Y/N.. and thank you Sir–" my voice cuts off as the man interjects, "Please, call me Iroh."

I nodded, "Iroh.. your nephew has been... something of an experience" I replied, trying to find a better word to explain Zuko, but it was not an easy task.

Iroh belly laughed, his voice echoing in the quaint little cafe. "Oh, believe me, I know. Ive dealt with him a lot back home."

I could only chuckle in response, "–But I am truly grateful you gave my nephew a chance." His eyes glanced downward at the cup of tea on the table.

"People are like tea leaves. Some seem bitter and cold at first.." his voice trails off, turning his head slightly at the counter behind him, the sight of his nephew came into view.

"But when you take the time to steep them, you discover their true warmth and sweetness." Iroh's face darted immediately back at me, with a warm smile he spoke one more.

"Thank you for giving him a chance Y/N." His tone was clear and sincere, he truly loves his nephew. And it was kinda sweet to see how much he would talk about him.

The sudden door chimes shook me out of my thoughts as I glanced over the open door, a few teenagers entered, their loud chatter engulfing the once quiet shop.

And much to Zuko's surprise, Iroh didn't immediately rush towards the guests. Earning a groan from the boy, as he begrudgingly dragged his body along, walking towards the group of girls.

"Shouldn't you help him?" A hint of enjoyment seeing the whole interaction unfold. Iroh chuckled slightly as he replied, "Don't worry, he can handle it."

We both watched in silence at the table across from us, the sight of Zuko obviously being overwhelmed by the amount of questions they had asked.

"What's your best tea– or better yet, what's your favorite?"

"Whats your name cutie?"

"Do you come with the menu, cause you're a treat."

The last one wasn't even about the cafe, I dont know why, but hearing that irked me. Maybe it was because I felt sort of bad watching him get massacred by their questions.

I guess my face was too easy to read, seeing as Iroh had been staring at me the whole time I had been thinking.

"Penny for your thoughts, Y/N?" Iroh's voice startled me as I snapped back into reality. A sheepish grin on face as I try to come up with an excuse.

"Just thinking.. about school" his eyes studied my expression, "I see.." Iroh belly laughed once more before continuing. "For a moment there, I thought you were thinking about my nephew."_

A nervous chuckle left my mouth as, I dart my eyes across the room, "Why would you think that.." I tried to keep cool, but the trembling in my voice made it hard to do so.

"Ease up, I was only teasing."

A light gasp escaped my lips, I let out a sigh of relief I didn't even know I was holding. Iroh began to speak once more.

"Perhaps I should go ahead and help him.." standing up as he said those words. I watched him walk towards Zuko, patting him on the shoulder to signal he would take care of it.

I watch his posture relax, as he walks away with a weirdly strong grip on his apron. Looking down on the table, I realize the empty tea set still on the desk.

Deciding it was probably best to take your leave. The bountiful amounts of homework you still had were waiting for you back home.

You gathered up your stuff, walking towards the counter, reaching out of your purse to pay.

"You're leaving?" Zuko's voice startles you as you glance up to see him staring behind the counter.

"–Oh. Yeah, I still have a lot of things to do." I replied, handing him the amount as well as the coupon I had. Your fingers linger a bit, the way your hands sort of felt warmth in the places he touched.

"–Your uncle makes pretty good tea.."

"Yeah.."

Awkward silence fills the air, as he rings up your order. "Thanks." I replied, turning around as I slowly made my way out the door.

The door chimes rang as I opened it slowly, feeling the soft gentle breeze hit my face as I walked out.

"–Wait!" Zuko yelled out from behind, turning around as you saw him run towards you. Stopping in my tracks as I looked at him confused.

His breath hitched as he caught up to you, "Take.. this." Zuko replied, his voice a bit airy from the running. His hand raised out for me to take.

Another coupon.

"What's this for?"

"Uncle told me to give this to you, he says he'd love for you to stop by once in a while.. whatever that means." The last few words were incoherent, my eyes blinked in confusion but decided not to press further.

"Oh, Thank you!" I replied, a big smile on my face as I accepted his offer, taking the coupon off his hands.

"Yeah, you're welcome.." Zuko replied, folding his hands profusely and I could've sworn I saw him smile.

Waving goodbye to the boy, as I went on my way. I looked at the coupon in my hand, and I felt a small smile crept up my lips.

due to being both aromantic and aplatonic i feel pretty "eh" to both concepts of friendships and relationships/couples in media (and in real life too but i'm more. discreet about it) which makes interacting with fandom works and such.. pretty frustrating at times

im more averse to romance in real life than in fiction ill have to admit, like, most ships i don't mind. im still more able to engage in shipping in my free time, but that might be because, like, when i ship characters i don't really... do it in a romantic sense i just mash them together, i like deeper bonds/relations/connections like that, and "ship" is a pretty easy term to apply to it as and kinda accurate, i don't know, hard to explain. but when theyre depicted to do traditionally romantic things together or just put emphasis on looooove and go all dovey-eyes in fanart then i must leave. i had enough i have assessed the situation and im leaving

but. i also don't like friendships in fanworks. which sucks so much because this is what, like, most other people that don't like romance gravitate to too!! and they put.. so much, like, moral stuff into liking it too like, saying that if you dont appreciate platonic relationships enough then that means allonormativity rotted your brain or something. many other aro & non-aplatonic people just go "romantic ships are so overdone so heres more art and works where characters are just allowed to stay friends, maybe even friendships are just superior anyway" and like i am happy for you don't get me wrong go enjoy what you like but.... friendships just always make me go "ewww". and unfortunately i cannot just choose not to see it either, platonic relationships are never tagged or anything except on ao3 or something. a lot of media/content (god i hate that term for fanworks..) by aros for aros just focuses on platonic love & relationships instead and sorry i cannot relate and the growler feels a bit alienated. not many people even know that aplatonic people exist anyway and if they do then they dont have the best opinion of us.

He gives that vibe like come on...(literally an hour later) Okay, so like, just seen a manga page of him drawing a jabberwocky around ceil like a sleep paralysis demon. a little back story on this particular poem is "a nonsensical poem about the killing of the jabberwocky" in 1871, apparently. this is very relatable to ceil and Gregory alike and like Google it for real (so like I was completely right about that and I didn't even know)

-Gregory seems to observe his friends a lot, and so i think he truly values any relationships he has with anyone. on a whole, he usually draws people that are around him, like ceil, and i think i seen one of Lawrence. (idk i don't have the manga) so i think he would have a lot of sketches of you, be it in his work as doodles, or fully fledge charcoal drawings, maybe even a painting. but he values and enjoys being with you a lot.

-little snacks like fruit and chocolate almost like a picnic in the swan gazebo, but ya know not sharing with everyone unless Gregory wants to, also the fact your with the others in the swan gazebo is becuse, 1 your allowed to be there they've invited others before, 2 you get along with the prefects and drudges and they really don't care, 3 your either his drudge or the first two already applied before hand so you both seen no point in doing that.

ohh if you can i would appreciate some tips!! honestly writers are so admirable we dont give yall enough credit🙏🙏🙏

well, for me to give you the absolute best tips i can to help out, i need to know what exactly you're struggling with when it comes to writing. there are about a million different tips i can give you for about a million different things and some of those tips will be completely useless to you

for now though, i'll give you the things that help me getting into a writing mood + general tips i give to new writers and if you still need further help you can explain what exactly you're struggling with and ill do my best to help out;

1) whatever you learned about formatting essays; forget it.

a common thing i see in new writers is they try to write it like an essay. which isn't a bad idea really, but it is restricting. your paragraphs don't have to be four or more sentences. they can only be one if you want. it's your story, format it however you want. you don't need to follow rules

2) listening to music

this is mostly for when you have that one specific scene in your head but have no idea what to do for the rest of the fic. listening to music and connecting the lyrics to the characters you're using is a great way to get your mind thinking. one song can give you several different ideas depending on how you interpret it

3) make sure you are in a good mood

personally, i cannot write to save my life if im upset or just generally having a bad day. i know some people can use creating as a way to cheer themselves up, but it just doesn't work out for me lol

4) if you don't need background noise, don't use it

it's pretty easy to get distracted when writing, especially when you have something new playing. if you do need background noise of some kind, i would advise playing instrumental music or that one movie/show that you've seen a thousand times and could quote in your sleep. keep your focus on your writing

5) brackets will be your best fucking friend when writing

one of the most important things about writing is keeping your flow going. if you find yourself writing sentence after sentence for a good while and then you suddenly hit a stop because you don't know how to word what happens next; throw it in brackets and write the scene after it. its the same reason why you're told to skip questions you get stuck on when taking a test. let your brain do what it knows it can and come back to the tricky stuff later.

6) you don't have to write anything in order

you don't have to write a story exactly start to finish. you can jump between any scene you'd like and find out how to connect it to a different scene another time. this kinda ties into the last tip in the sense that you gotta let your brain do what it knows. if you only know the beginning and the end then write those first and figure out the rest as you go. if you need to edit either one of the previous things then that's okay. there's no shame in changing things around, it's just how creating things go. sometimes change is needed

7) writing prompts

for new writers, i like to tell them to find a prompt online to write a story for before they start their own. using a prompt someone else made keeps your brain from getting overwhelmed, allowing you to focus more on finding a writing style that works best for you. using writing prompts also lets your brain find ways to contribute to a story without having it make everything while also figuring out how to put it on paper. it's easy to overwhelm the brain, so let it get used to writing before you start creating your own ideas. (this is also something i advise to people who experience burnout or just cant think of anything to write. your brain just needs a break from creating ideas right now, go and find a prompt for it)

8) word count

listen to me because this is so important; ignore the word count. you need to focus on learning, not how much you're writing. it doesn't matter if you only wrote 50 words when other people have fics well over 50k. ignore it. you are learning, you'll get there eventually. if you focus too much on how much you're writing you're going to stress yourself out and ultimately drive yourself away from ever writing again. treat word counts as milestones. start with 50, then 100, then 150, then 200, etc. let yourself work towards it slowly rather than push yourself too hard right out the gate. you can't expect to draw the mona lisa the first time you put a pencil to a paper, so don't expect to write thousands of words the first time you write a story. it'll take time, and that's perfectly okay.

9) analyze the shit out of your characters

this is easier when writing fanfiction, but take a few hours to learn your characters. find the content they're in and hyper-focus on what they're doing. pay attention to their speech patterns, their body language, their relationships with others, etc. if they're not in a scene, try to imagine they are and what'd they do and/or say if they were. it'll help out with keeping them in character when writing

10) if you get to a point where you can't write anymore even when using brackets; stop writing for the day

we have our limits. you will get to a point where you can't get another word down and that's okay. it doesn't matter if you've only written a handful of words, close your program and wait until you feel motivation hit you again. if you keep trying to force yourself to write when you just can't then you're going to burn yourself out. the most probable reason for this is writer's block, which means you need to focus on other things for a while. give your brain time to recollect itself. it's annoying, i know, but it's better for you if you just let your brain do what it needs to. it knows how to take care of itself, so let it.

the first time james sees you he’s completely speechless. you’re chatting with marlene about something in class, absentmindedly playing with your hair and he’s just gulping like a fish. because where have you been all his life? truly the universe has been so cruel in keeping you from him!

but he’s suddenly shy. james has had plenty of luck with girls. he’s a flirt by nature. he knows all the right things to say, the ways to sweep them off their feet. that is before he saw you… he’s now well and truly tongue tied. he’s literally like lying in bed at night planning what he wants to say to you next time he sees you. spoiler alert he just gets scared and watches you from across the great hall like this 🧍

but finally he pulls himself together and approaches you the next time he sees you. you’re sat in the back of the library on a window seat reading through a book you found which explains how the greek gods were actually early forms of wizards and witches, very interesting stuff you know? you don’t even notice him lingering over you till he sort of awkwardly coughs and asks “would you recommend it? the - the book i mean would you recommend it?” he asks and he can feel heat creeping up his neck as you nod and smile up at him. “tell me about it!” he practically spits out in the next second. he’s so embarrassing i love him

you agree because he’s cute and everyone’s always talking about what a nice boy james potter is to you. of course you don’t know that they only do that you because they see the way james looks at you but hey what you don’t know can’t hurt you? so you move along on your seat and james shuffles in beside you. the first thing you notice is how he smells like cinnamon, oranges and something slightly earthy that is just so james. the next thing you notice is the way his knee and his shoulder press against yours on the small window seat. it’s warm and intimate and you feel flustered as you start to explain the greek myths to him. he watches you as you speak, watches the way your lashes brush your cheek, watches the way your lips move as you talk.

it’s nice to just be listened to for a change so this becomes your pattern. you see a side to james in these afternoon reading sessions that very few people are privy too. the normally loud and cocky potter is gentle and polite. happy to just sit and watch you devotedly. he makes it so natural too so you forget that you’re introverted, you tell him what your favourite things, things that make you angry, your hopes, your dreams everything. and in that time you start to fall for him. you can’t help it he’s so easy to love. you try to hide this new discovery but its hard to go from telling james everything to keeping such a huge secret from him and so he notices the absence. he doesn’t know what it is but he knows you’re keeping something and so he’s hurt if he’s honest.

so you avoid him. you can’t face the sad puppy look on his face it cuts you up and so you pretend you don’t see him waiting for you in the library, pretend you don’t hear the tapping on your door, or the notes stuffed in your pocket. because hopefully he’ll get bored move on and you’ll get over him. but james potter is determined and so enamoured by you that he’ll try one last time. and so he hides a book in your room. the book is his diary with the pages from all his time with you bookmarked. in it are lists of your favourite things, tiny sketches of you, details on how he feels about you and he ends it with “vicky darling i don’t know what i did but please know i’m eternally sorry. you’ve made a mess of me, i’d do anything to just see you again. don’t you know i love you? if you feel the same meet me at our window seat. if i don’t see you there i will accept that you truly don’t feel the same and i will leave you be. yours forever, james” you find yourself wiping tears as you read it realising how silly you’ve been.

and so with haste you race to the window seat in the library and when you see him there all anxious and shy your heart aches. “ you’ve made a mess of me too james” you say softly as you sit beside him and his face lights up. “can i make it better?” he asks huskily and you nod. his hands cup your face as he leans in and kisses you. he tastes like maple syrup, he smells like spices and he feels like home. it’s perfect and as he walks you back to your dorm with a promise of a date in hogsmede and a soft kiss to your forehead you feel giddy as you lay down under the covers that night because james potter loves you and you love him.

your reading thing doesn’t stop it’s just that now when you read to him he’ll have his arm around your waist and his free hand will trace hearts on the small sliver of skin that peaks out there between your uniform skirt and shirt. he doesn’t actually disturb you though because he finds it so relaxing to hear your voice. if you want to stop him and kiss him though he’s not gonna complain.

he loves visiting cemeteries with you. you offhandedly mentioned once how you were gonna visit one, you didn’t invite him though because you were worried he’d think it was weird. but then he sort of shyly asks “can i come too?” and you laugh and nod. the two of you pack a picnic and spend the whole day exploring the graveyard with each other in quite intimacy. your hands constantly intertwined as you walk, pausing to pay your respect and the long-forgotten names of the people who laid there and occasionally saying hello to the few ghosts that lingered there. you came across one pair which were an old couple who said you reminded them of theirselves when they were your age which makes the tips of james’s ear turn red.

he brings you any nice rocks he finds. sirius gives him the weirdest look when the marauders are sneaking around at night and james bends down to pick a stone up that he thinks you’d like but james just grins and shrugs his shoulders saying “my girl likes them. what can you do?” the marauders smile at that. they’ve never seen james look so lovesick - it’s very sweet.

you two have matching necklaces. i don’t know why but i just feel this in my core. you found them at an antique shop and yours is a silver moon james is gold sun. because of it when the two of you are together everyone calls the pair of you “solar eclipse” 😭 even did it once when she was telling your friend group off. she was like “where’s solar eclipse?” sirius absolutely pissed himself laughing about that.

james gets rid of spiders for you but not before teasing you a bit. that’s just the kinda of guy he is i’m sorry. he’ll get them gone though for you don’t you worry but only if you promise to kiss him as a thank you after.

he writes you love letters weekly. you smile on mondays when his owl flies and drops a cream coloured envelope down on your desk written in james’s scrawling hand. in the letter he incloses what his favourite memories of you he has of the past week be that an outfit he thought was really pretty, a song he heard that made him think of you, or a leaf that he pressed from a forest walk that the two of you went on. he adores you so much it’s unbelievable.

okay me. There are a lot of songs that make me think of them but none of them come close to Place In Me by Luke Hemmings which is why I chose it and keep mentioning it in the tweets.

I'm using this ask as a place to dissect it because my brain will not stop thinking about the correlation between the song and Rafe x reader. I didn't even base this fic off the song but it fits so perfectly so I HAVE to talk about it.

"dancing in the dark" was his mindset during that whole era, he was on drugs, and his mental health wasn't doing well at all. It's not an excuse but he's finally coming to terms with how much he hurt her but he has nothing to stand on because he shouldn't have done what he did to her, there's no excuse. He's telling her in song to hold on, to listen to the lyrics for insight on how he feels because he doesn't know how to tell her any other way.

He sees it now, now that he's in a better place mentally and he's clean, he can see the harm he has caused and what he has lost. "Heaven in your arms" obviously knowing that she helped him so much and he was so safe to fall apart with her, realizing his feelings go way deeper than he thought they did but being stuck. And of course 'heaven' to tie it back to 'angel.'

Again, not excusing him but, he didn't know what he was doing when he said those things to her. He had his reasons, which I will expand on in the fic. He didn't mean to start this friction between them for all those years and make his friends choose sides. He realizes that he was wrong but again, he's stuck. She won't look at him how she used to.

This verse explains how tied he is to her, how his identity is very much based on how she sees him and how he doesn't think too highly of his self-worth if she sees him as a bad guy. I think the rest of this is pretty on the nose. That's why it fits so perfectly. He doesn't want her to leave, he wants a chance to start over with her but he's dumb and has no idea how to tell her that and is going about it all wrong. As well as the fact that y/n doesn't want anything to do with him. Had this been anyone else, she would have left their life and never looked back. He knows that and he also knows that she only tolerates him for the band. In a way, he's lucky because without the band he would have never seen her again. He's very limited in what he can do to get her attention and ask for another chance. He also just doesn't think he deserves one. Selfishly though, he wants her to stay with him forever, even if it's at arm's length. even if that means she never talks to him again. Because she will always have a place in him.

i would love to talk about regem it is my beloved brainchild 😈

regemption is the story ive been working on for several years (it turns 5 this june, which is scary to think about!) using a bastardised aesthetisised pop culture interpretation of christian mythology to talk about a lot of things, like morality and the concept of purity. i want to make it a webcomic some day, and it will be split into 5 "books", and an intermission story spread throughout

book 1: current title "heart and soul": follows jonah calinao, a 23 y/o depressed deadbeat who suffers a heart attack and goes to hell. somehow, they bounce back, because modern medicine is amazing, but this is the first time a human has ever seen the stony deep before being revived. satan (mostly referred to as "boss") sends one of her lackeys to "take care of them" and bring them back and thus maintain the natural order. she picks jade (representative of envy, middle of the road when it comes to sinners) who, upon seeing earth for the first time, isnt exactly that keen on going back. so jade makes a deal with jonah: she wont kill them if they at least TRY and get their shit together. which is a pretty cushy deal, all things considered! except jades situationship from hell (in the most literal context) isnt happy that her best-friend-slash-longtime-crush is mingling with the humans. especially when zircon decides that jade and jonah have gotten pretty close 🤔

book 2: "blood and bone": follows isaac bonner, a 25 y/o rich kid dissatisfied with life. when his on-again-off-again (mostly off) girlfriend dies, he considers ending it all, but is interrupted by what he considers divine intervention. it is, of course, from the other place. bloodstone convinces him that killing himself would be such a waste, he should just hand over his soul instead, and let someone with a will to go on take the wheel. initially unconvinced, she shows him all of her plans, why shes on earth and what she plans to do, and it might just be the adrenaline rush he needs to keep on living

book 3: "hope and pray": follows mary santoro, 24 y/o, jonahs ex-roommate (roommate through the first half of book 1. dont worry about it), nicest person youll ever meet. shes always had a passion for music, but passion rarely pays the bills, which she has a lot of. during one of her many dayjobs, she meets a few very odd individuals who are, for some reason, adamant that she has to join their band. even though its not the type of music she likes, they wear her down, and she agrees to at least check em out, but she soon realises that theyre not human, but they need her help. and one thing about mary is she can never turn someone down, no matter how much she wants to

book 4: "flesh and blood": follows jacob bonner (isaacs younger brother) and his best friend levi abraham as they uncover just what isaac had gotten up to the past few months. and why their cellar is suddenly locked up tight, with no key in sight. or why jacob frequently wakes up to screaming, only sometimes his own. or why their "new friend" looks so familiar, and whether levis right not to trust her

book 5: "survive and thrive": everything comes together. the culmination of the previous four books, with an epilogue to deal with anything that wasnt tied up in a neat little bow

intermissions: follow ruby and zebra jasper as they seek violent, glittery revenge on the one who wronged them, aided by pyrite, who jasper just cant seem to convince ruby is bad news

alexandrite is a minor character in book 1 (even though demons dont have families the way we do, alex and jade consider themselves as close to sisters as they can get), a supporting character in book 2, and should be a major character in book 5.

ghost au

Again shoutout to this post

For now im skipping 🔴👁️ hyde and 🟢👁️ jekyll since theres more info on it

Theres also another ghost au by @/bansheeoftheforest ^^ dont remember that much about it from discord except the fact that jekyll is a singular ghost there, since its been a long time. But if anyone's interested you can check it out too, i think theres also a fanfic on it.

Anyway! Heres a VERY old drawing (like, 2021 probably) i had to edit it bc the quality is dogshit.

So yeah its pretty old i dont remember much but here we go In this au, i didnt really made a particular reason for their/his death, either something like accidental poisoning, murder or just soul leaving the body as its in a coma state.

Rachel and Robert notice that Jekyll is missing, and at the same time weird things happenning in Society of Mad Scientists. Like is there was a ghost or perhaps a poltergeist.?

So of course, they go to Maijabi, the only person in Society who specialises on that kind of thing

He investigates, and does notice that there is infact a new ghost in society. He only needs for it/them to cooparate. He does something like a summoning ritual, and gives Rachel and Robert mixture that would let them see this ghost.

(new addition ) Meanwhile ghost Henry dosent want to show up, but Edward does. He wants to come in contact with Rachel . They summon them, and as they see that it's Jekyll, they are in shock, but its only the start, as ghost turns around they notice Hyde. And at this point they are stunned and dont know what to say, is this real? Are they dead? Why? And most importantly, why the hell they are connected into one?

I remember also imagining j&h ghost being kinda zomby like for some reason, like when R, L, and M summon them i imagined them saying something like:

Я ø b ë r t ЯR æ ç h ê l

As they try to reach their shocked friends. (Ooo body horror too 👻)

The first summoning ends, and Rachel and Robert dont know how to process what they have just witnessed.

Maijabi is also stunned, he remarks he has never seen anything like that before

R and L dont understand how that could be explained, Robert is especially in denial. As they calm down a little with a cup of tea, Maijabi tries to explain what he thinks about this, but the main conclusion is that Jekyll and Hyde are dead (duh XD) and thats not some sort of illusion. He knows an actual ghost when he sees one. Lanyon and Rachel cant believe it, their precious friend is dead, for Rachel its even worse because Hyde is also.

On the second summoning Maijabi finally gets to examine this strange case. His conclusion from this time, is that its not two souls tied together, but instead one soul split in two, and yet, not fully.

(new addition) And then its most likely Hyde is the one to tell the truth, Jekyll is so stubborn he wouldn't tell it even when hes dead.

Now that i think about it, i recall they are all goopy and zomby like because their soul is literally falling apart (since its already split).

The ending, as i recall, was something like Jekyll finally accepting himself, and his soul becoming one again, by that they fuse and Jekyll becomes fully himself again, and finding peace. And Lanyon, Rachel and lodgers as they find out of course – mourning.

(New addition) but if his body was in a coma state, after fusing, he would wake up, but finally fully himself again(could be an alternative ending if them fully dying is too sad ^^).

Thats it with the au , but on topic, of back then and still i believe that before drinking the amongus potion™ back in University, and basically his whole life he was fully himself, except for the fact he had a facade, but after drinking the potion, at first it was still his self, but with time they sapatated more and more. Now rarely able to control each other (red eyed hyde and green eyed jekyll), they can only watch and feel physical sences of the other half while they are in control.

Well, at least thats from my logical standpoint, but in general despite that, i still see them as sapatate, for example i really like Hyde but kinda neutral towards Jekyll, not negative, just don't like him just as much even tho they're the same person.
