Now for some of my thoughts??

In terms of Vulcan Andrew: you see my vision. You see exactly what I was thinking and everything you said was correct. Personally idk if I see him as half Terran, half something else, or even just a more volatile Vulcan? (Maybe he doesn’t like meditating. Who said Vulcans can’t also have maladaptive responses!) But all of the ways people talk about him vs how people talk about Vulcans, how neither he nor Spock quite fit in, I agree with all of that so hard. I have to go find that book now too

For Neil though I don’t quite see him as Kirk. What I think I like best is Dan as the steady, level-headed Captain, with Neil as her risk-taking, self-sacrificing, first officer. I know that position doesn’t exist on its own yet in tos, but that’s where I’d want him to be. If he has to have a job besides first officer, then I’d give him communications too. He’s already got 4 earth languages, let’s just throw in a handful of alien ones too. (Perhaps he gets in trouble once for interrupting a transmission between Dan and someone Neil thinks is being an asshole)

I’m not trying to build the whole team here, but I do feel like I’ve gotta try to put Kevin somewhere, and I’m kinda struggling with it? He’s such an exy specific character. Maybe Engineering? He still could play the third role in the main character triangle, and all of his anger and energy that he pours into keeping the team together in the books he now puts towards keeping the ship (the USS Fox?) running. I imagine he’s a fan of percussive maintenance. Also with all of book-Kevin’s focus on numbers and angles and precision I think engineering could be a good fit

Back to Vulcan Andrew. This was the first thing that really got me thinking about aftg Star Trek at all. I absolutely adore Vulcans. Just as a concept. And Vulcan/Human culture interacting is everything to me. I’m feeling this out as I type, but I think I like the idea of Vulcan Andrew joining Starfleet because he decided it would be more interesting than whatever his life on Vulcan had to offer. It probably wasn’t a super thought out decision, and Aaron resents him for it (in his own Vulcan way)

Speaking of Aaron. Can you imagine being a Vulcan who just want to be a normal logic following guy, only to be permanently tied to ANDREW? Did they grow up together? Did they meet in their teens like canon? Idk. But Aaron would hate being so closely associated with someone as impulsive as Andrew

And like. Vulcans do experience emotion. They do. Look at pre-Surak civilization where they almost razed themselves to the ground with it. I have some personal headcanons about it, but regardless, the capacity for emotion is still there. Vulcans tend to be very intense in very specific directions. They see the path they think they should follow and they just follow it. There’s so much space for Andrew to fit in that. (I’d love to fit Vulcan spirituality in here somehow but I don’t know how)

I think Andrew and Renee would have Star Trek nights. Andrew would absoLUTELY latch onto Spock. He’d probably also take issue with the shows optimistic worldview, but that wouldn’t stop him from watching, it’d just give him something to argue with Renee about later

Thoughts on aftg/star trek?

oh god. so many!

vulcan andrew. he fits the mold pretty well, except for the violence. I could see him similar to spock in that case, a half vulcan, which would add to the way hes kind of seen as an unpredictable character by the upperclassmen -- working with the idea that people who are both terran and vulcan dont fit perfectly into easy behavior stereotypes. im thinking a lot about the pocket book "mindshadow" where spock's "inconsistencies" get expored. in an aftg to tos recast, id put him as spock.

that brings me to neil, who i think in said recast is a really solid kirk. There's this one tumblr post by @/na-nanu talking about kirk's alienation, and one line that has stuck with me ever since i read it: "Kirk, while personable, is a fairly Vulcan human." this strikes me as so so neil. until they really get to know him better, the upperclassmen tend to read neil in opposition to andrew. neil, to those outside, is the more personable of the two, the one who feels. as we all know, neil and andrew are incredibly similar -- which is why i referenced that quote just now. like kirk, neil takes andrew as he is, and never asks for more than he can give.

more kirk qualities: neil is ride or die (literally) for his team, self-sacrificing and quick-witted. he's not afraid to lie or trick his way into getting what he wants. lets be honest, both of these men love a good ruse.

going back to andrew for a moment, the way andrew is talked about as unfeeling and monstrous rings a very similar bell to the way terrans talk about vulcans and their lack of emotional display. kirk can read spock better than anyone, sound familiar?

this gets its own bullet point because i dont know where to put it. not all of my thoughts on aftg/st are so matchy-matchy (like, trying to make things line up), but i think the episode "The Enemy Within" and Neil-Nathaniel-Only-One-Of-Them-Can-Survive-Both-Of-Them-Want-To-Live have got some interesting similarities. Nathaniel dying in that basement too, and such.

I feel like people might want to cast Kevin as McCoy, because of McSpirk, and how they're the main trio. but because of Spock and Bones' frequent disagreements, similarities, and general vibes i really see him as Aaron, who's more explosive then Kevin when it comes to Andrews apathy. Bones and his wife and kid back home are also kind of Katelyn-esque.

renee and uhura... i think that this parallel works if spock/andrew, vulcan andrew what have you, is at the core of this thing. theres a lot of similarities for everyone, but god. he's the reason i'm even thinking about tos and aftg together. the "unlikely" friendship, everyone thinking they have a thing, bonding over a shared activity (but its music instead of beating the shit out of each other)

i can really imagine andrew getting into star trek. its a really good "what if?" show that i think he'd enjoy, given his feelings on the zombie apocalypse. renee could definitely get into the morality aspect as well. i can see them talking about the questions in the epsodes, like "so what would you do if your evil clone tried to take over the ship?" and the like. Andrew seeing himself in Spock, seeing someone who also can only deal with his emotions on the lowest volume, and him being loved nonetheless. Maybe seeing a little bit of his not-boyfriend-nothing Neil in Kirk.

another thing about spock/andrew. they are both surprisingly open! I'd have to go back and look to find the exact post, but someone made a great post about how kirk is actually not that forthcoming about his past/life, while spock, if you literally just ask him, will tell you a lot! this i think is hilariously similar to neil being seen as the more open one, when he is actually so cagey and full of false pasts, while andrew will answer most questions. people just never seem to ask (until neil, ofc).

There's definitely more where this came from, so ill add on to this later, but im battling a bit of a headache right now and need to end it here. Thank you so so much for the ask, im excited to hear what you think!!!!!!!!

Neil + getting hurt

this is badly written bc it’s just me brainstorming but

alright so this boy has a pretty high tolerance for pain, but he knows when he’s hurt. he knows how to feel for cracks in his ribs or when he’s broken something

he’s pretty used to getting hurt and the foxes all cry at night bc of it

he’s not an idiot when it comes to injuries but he is when it comes to knowing when to stop because of his injuries.

his first reaction to just about any injury is to patch it up and deal with it himself (if he can pry himself away from the courts long enough)

sometimes he’ll bother Andrew if he needs help

but

if Andrew can’t/won’t help, the next person he goes to is Aaron

(he doesn’t go to Kevin because even though Kevin gets it, he would actually hurt Neil if Neil didn’t treat an injury properly right away. Kevin doesn’t play that shit. Go see Abby)

the other foxes might know what to do, but even if they did, they would make him see Abby too so he doesn’t waste his time

anyway so Andrew is out with Renee and Allison one day and Neil goes out for a run. It’s fine until some student wasn’t looking where they were going and crash into Neil as he turns a corner

They’re both fine, but Neil lands hard on his shoulder and the concrete scraped the shit outa him. He finishes his run and gets back to the tower not really thinking anything of it till he goes to shower and realizes his shoulder looks really bad

Aaron is next door studying for a biology test when just. Neil just walks in with literally zero warning and sits down across from him

Neither of them say anything for a minute. Aaron finishes the page he’s taking notes on them looks at Neil like what do you want

Neil’s like “I hurt my shoulder and I can’t reach it to bandage it up.”

Aaron’s goes ???? He’s so done. “whatever let me see it”

and Neil takes off his shirt

a COUPLE OF THINGS TO NOTE HERE

aaron has seen Neil after the nest and after his father. He’s seen Neil beat to shit and looking like hell. He hasn’t seen Neil’s scars though.

and it’s not that Neil’s comfortable showing his scars off because he’s definitely not. He can just barely show them to Abby. But he’s tired and Aaron already looks annoyed that he’s wasting time and whatever, Andrew will be back soon and they have practice tonight and Neil can’t reach so Aaron is gonna have to suck it up and bandage him

His shoulder is a little more than “hurt”

Aaron goes straight into doctor mode. He has to disenfect it and it’s way too much for just a band aid so he gets some gauze and patches that up

They don’t say anything the entire time. Aaron works in silence and Neil is just staring. Aaron can’t tell if he’s focused or not

Neil leaves with a half-assed thanks and Aaron is just. He’s annoyed ok. His brother’s tool of a boyfriend just comes in and interrupts his studying to demand that he kiss his scrape better and then just leaves. Fuck that guy

like exactly 5 minutes later when Aaron gets back to studying he has that “oh shit” moment of realiziation where it hits him that Neil came to him for help and showed him his scars. He appreciates what that means, even if he is still petulantly grumpy at being bothered

this happens just a couple of times but Aaron doesn’t take it for granted. theyre both aware that Neil’s letting himself be vulnerable in that moment, which is really hard for him

Neil also goes to see Abby sometimes. He doesn’t like to because he has to leave the tower but if he’s already out and hurting then he’ll drop by

Abby worries about him all the time and constantly reassures him that it’s ok!! she wants him to see her if he’s injured!! nothing is too small

Abby also starts to load up on Neil’s favorite snacks. He refuses to go easy on her and just give her a grocery list so she has to pull some Sherlock Holmes type shit and piece together what the kid likes on her own. (he drinks water and/or orange juice, he won’t eat anything too sweet, chips are a maybe, fruit is always good)

So, to recap, if he’s not pretending that his injury isn’t serious (which is still the majority of the time), he’s paying a discreet visit to Andrew, Aaron, or Abby

he prefers to handle his shit himself, but this is progress!

there is one (1) time though where Neil gets hurt and demands to go to the hospital

It’s nothing too bad. Nothing life-threatening. The team is actually really happy that they didn’t even have to force Neil to call time and see a doctor, but they don’t quite understand why he’s freaking out so bad

It happens when they’re playing a game. No one sees what happens but Neil goes down and he takes a little too long to get back up. Wymack and Kevin both look ready to drag him off court but he surprises everyone by signaling to the ref and limping off himself

he goes straight to Abby on the bench. Something happened to his leg, he pulled a muscle or something, idk, but it scared the shit out of him

they’re in the last quarter so Neil holds out until they foxes win but then he’s like “Abby. I need to see a doctor, now”

everyone is confused af but they go with it

They get him to a doctor who checks it out. Something’s definitely strained but it’s not too serious and he can play in a few weeks at most

the foxes get ready for Neil to just absolutely ignore that but??? Neil is like ok and actually sits out practice and shit

he doesn’t get back onto the court until Abby clears him

The next day the foxes can’t help it. they have to know

Andrew and Kevin tell them to leave it alone, but. My boys aren’t immune. They wanna know too. They just have a feeling the answer is gonna be bad

After practice everyone just kinda invites themselves over to Wymack’s and Abby cooks. They’re chatting for a while, just fucking around, when someone brings it up

And Neil debates not telling them but he catches Andrew out of the corner of his eye pretending not to be interested and really there’s no reason to hide anything from the team, so

Kevin changes the subject bc believe it or not he isn’t useless and has gotten really good at Not Talking about things and redirecting conversation

it takes a while but the night goes on and they’re all fine, it’s in the past, they know that neil is here and he’s okay and his father is dead

any questions of “are you okay” are met with a withering look and yeah that’s fair but neil knows it’s with good intentions

andrew drags neil out of the room when nobody is looking

he kisses him hard and whispers about his father and the moriyamas never being able to get to him again

neil reminds him that andrew doesn’t have to protect him anymore

andrew knows that it isn’t their deal but he wants to okay? he wants to protect neil and keep him safe

Sure, I’ll take requests! Well I am unsure if you mean more Andrew and Allison in general or Andrew protecting Allison but I guess I’ll just do both.

I have always thought that Allison and Andrew could get along and quite well if given the chance. Looking at their personalities they are kinda similar

They would be the kind of friends that their whole relationship was being kinda dramatic and blunt together

They are both blunt, saying exactly what I’d on their mind with out beating around the bush or caring how it perceived

Allison, after the thing with the hoodies, would go to Andrew for comfort. Like Neil, taking comfort in the apathy or refusal to show pity

Sometimes the worst thing when greving or even just when mentally you aren’t doing well is to hear and see all that pity so she would probably like being around him just for the fact that he would be neutral, no pitying like the upperclassman or guilty/angry like the cousins/Neil. Andrew would just be a constant steady presence, so she doesn’t have to worry about others reactions

Andrew would probably be like Wymack in that his affection often doesn’t look like it is. Andrew is not a mentally healthy person, he can not deal with emotions very well and when he does allow himself to feel them they are always in extreme. Allison would be another person to call him out on his bullshit or be blunt.

(To me it is helpful when I’m having a bad day for people to be blunt. That way I don’t have to try and understand what they are feeling or trying to say)

I don’t know, they would probably be one of the most unexpected and dysfunctional friendships in the Foxes (which is saying a lot) but it would work for them

After all, it was said that Seth gave her ��rude affection’ and Andrew does seem to show a certain type of detached rude affection towards his family in the books(just you know not in a romantic way)

Andrew would probably remind her it’s ok to feel and grieve. He felt like he couldn’t, he didn’t have the support system or anything to be able to deal with things but she does.

Andrew can be a really good listener when he wants to be which I think would be good, expecially with the fact that he is so blunt and shit

Allison makes affronted noises and asks disgusted “what the hell did you do? What are you wearing”

While Andrew just looks blankly horrified and then a little annoyed and says “you look like a down and out stripper that got dressed in the dark” with the most bored yet judgemental time Allison has ever heard

And Allison is just like this fantastic little midget is so spectacularly rude. He is my bitchy apprentice now.

after evermore they all knew neil had been wearing contacts and didn’t think anything more of it bc they were colored

what they didn’t realize is that those contacts had also been prescription, and after evermore he knew he couldn’t just put them back in bc duh he has blue eyes not brown

neil didn’t rlly consider it a problem because he knows how to deal w it, he’s had identities that didn’t have glasses/contacts before, and his vision isn’t so bad that he can’t function

sure everything’s a bit blurry and he has to squint to see things, but it’s fiiine everything’s cool

as baffled as he is by the foxes insistence on the whole eyesight thing, maybe he’s mildly blown away by how he suddenly has less headaches and less eye strain now

and MAYBE his vision got worse since he was younger and had his first eye appt

Erin and Ania are like holy fuck I can’t even. But for real Neil sees Abby as a mother figure in the book so like is it the same for Ania? Andrew too? Idek I just need to know their relationships with everyone

It’s time I map out their relationships anyways lol so thanks, love!

Let’s start with the lovely Ania 

Dan, Allison, and Ania are roommates. It’s tough after Seth’s death bc Ania has to face her all the time. Erin tells Allison her theory too so Allison is avoiding Ania so :////

Dan is essentially what Matt was to Neil. She sees Ania and her first thought is ‘baby’. She adopts her so fast. Every morning before class, she’ll pinch Ania’s cheeks and kiss her fingers, chef-style Idk man. It’s just something my mom does to me ok. Let me be soft. 

Renee rooms with Erin so Ania isn’t comfortable with her. Anyone that can spend the night in a room with that girl has to be hardcore. 

Allison also gives Ania a lot of shit about her wardrobe. At some point it starts to get to her so when the monsters head to the mall, Erin catches Ania drifting towards the girl’s section on her own. She’s high so she follows her around, prodding her about it. When Ania tells her, there’s this moment where Erin’s drug haze parts for a second. Ania could have sworn that she saw anger flashing in Erin’s eyes for half a second. She shrugs it off until Allison shows up at the dorms with a bruise on her jaw. Erin knows Ania hides her body bc scars and bc she doesn’t like men staring at her. She refuses to let Allison shame Ania into doing something she doesn’t want to. In general, Allison and Ania have a rocky relationship because Erin keeps interfering. After Christmas, the two of them end up getting along a lot better bc they bond while Allison covers Ania’s bruises with makeup. Also after Christmas, Ania and Renee trade dorms so she and Allison aren’t in constant contact. Part of their friction was due to the amount of time they spent together. A lot of things have happened to Allison this year and the fact that she constantly has to see the source of a lot of her problems makes it hard for her to heal.  

I’ve considered Fem!Nicky but I personally prefer Gay/Lesbian solidarity between him and Erin a lot better so yeah (However if you want me to run a few Fem!Nicky hcs, hmu and I’ll do it. She won’t be a part of the fem!verse but it would be fun). He’s exactly the way he is in canon. However, he is constantly trying to set Ania and Erin up and Erin? Doesn’t? Stop? Him? She’s so desperately in love with Ania that if Nicky wingmanning for her is what it takes to win her over, then she’ll take it. She also has a really dirty sense of humor. The jokes he makes fuel her late-night fantasies. 

Aaron is disgusted with Nicky and, more importantly, himself. Ania is incredibly beautiful and he’s incredibly straight. He doesn’t like her bc he’s so gone for Katelyn. That doesn’t make Ania any less pretty. He finds himself staring at her all the time but so does every other fox so he doesn’t feel bad. 

Katelyn thinks Ania is hot. She’s bi but leans heavily towards guys. It takes Aaron a long time to unlearn his homophobia but he manages it because Katelyn is bi and he couldn’t possibly hate anything about her. Once Riko is gone and Ania is safe, she starts to develop feelings. I mean, she always had feelings but now she doesn’t try to suppress them. She lets herself want to be friends with people. Katelyn happens to be at the top of her list. While the twins are with Bee at their sessions, Katelyn and Ania hang out. Sessions are only an hour/hour and a half long so the girls just grab a soda together or go window shopping in Reddin. I hc Katelyn as a genuinely sweet VSCO girl. Let me have this! Ania has a grunge/goth aesthetic because Erin buys her clothes for her but she thinks Katelyn’s clothes are cute too. Erin wants to hate the thousands of scrunchies and anklets she finds strewn across the dorm but they make Ania so happy. Once on a double date, on Bee’s insistence, Katelyn catches sight of a bubblegum pink scrunchie in Erin’s hair. It’s a stark contrast to her all-black outfit but it’s really cute. When Aaron goes to grab their drinks from the barista, Katelyn tells her so making sure to stay well out of Erin’s reach. Erin just grunts and turns to look out the window. The twins don’t blush with their whole face. Instead, their ears turn red. With Erin’s hair pulled up and out of the way, Katelyn has no trouble seeing her burning red ears. It’s progress! 

Ania spends a lot more time out at Evermore as a kid than Neil did. As a result, she was really close to Kevin and Riko. She only knew Jean for like a month before she dipped. I got a request for Fem!Jean so you’ll see Ania’s relationship with Jeanie soon. Kevin sees her as a baby sister. He and Kayleigh were actually at the hospital when Ania was born. There’s a baby photo back at Kayleigh’s old house of 3yr old Kevin carrying a newborn Ania. He’s crying rivers in it. There’s an actual video of it as well. In it, Kay asks him why he’s crying. “She’s sho shmall!” little Kevin sobs. “Can I keep her? Pleashe, mom. I’ll be nice to her and take care of her and I’ll tell her I love her all the time.” You can hear someone laughing in the background. The camera pans across the room to reveal Wymack sitting in a chair by the door, cackling

TANGENT BUT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT WYMACK FOR A MINUTE! So Wymack and Kay are friends with some obvious benefits. He flips his shit when Kevin is born because what if that’s his kid??? Kay is just like, I was with a lot of guys and brushes it off. She’s lying through her teeth. Wymack is the only man she’s ever loved. Tetsuji is salty and I will go into this in another post but I think that Tetsuji really hated Kevin because he was Kay’s son but not his. I absolutely believe that Tetsuji was in love with Kayleigh Day and was pissed when she had a kid. Anyway, Wymack flies out to Ireland a lot to check up on Kay and Kevin because Kay is crazy. How could the inventor of exy not be? It’s literally murder lacrosse. He goes out to make sure Kay isn’t overworking herself and bc Kev has no father figure. Kev grows up knowing Wymack and absolutely adores him. When Kay dies, Wymack wants custody of Kevin. Kay knows who the Moriyamas are and recently she and Tetsuji have been fighting a lot. She’s scared that something is going to happen to her so she writes her will and emphasizes that she wants her son sent to Wymack if she dies. Her fight with Tetsuji comes to a head and the car ‘accident’ happens. It’s not an accident. Tetsuji ordered her killed in a fit of rage. He’s devastated when it actually happens. He loved her and now she’s dead. Well, who’s fault is that, ya dumb bish? He flies out for the funeral and so does Wymack. Tetsu finds the will first and is anger. He has it burned and has Nathan forge a new one where he gets custody of Kev. It breaks Wymack’s heart bc now he thinks Kay didn’t want him around Kev. Kevin is five and he’s crying because his mom is dead and now he can’t live with Wymack. He calls Wymack Dad and Wymack can’t do anything about this. Instead, he just hugs little Kev close and tells him it’ll be okay. Wymack tells Kev that Tetsu has a niece his age. Maybe Kev and Riko can be friends. Maybe they’ll even get married. Kevin says that’s disgusting and Wymack laughs a hollow laugh. Anyway, that’s how Kev gets shipped to Evermore. Tetsu doesn’t allow Wymack near Kev bc he knows the truth. The reason why Wymack always has a sports channel on because he used to keep it on in case Kev ever showed up. He watched every one of Kev’s games and interviews and everything. Wymack doesn’t get to be there to watch Kev grown up so he just watched from a distance. I'm not crying you are. 

Wymack is a father figure to Ania and Erin. He’s there when Ania is born bc he went to visit Kay and Kev who were in Baltimore to meet baby Nathania. Kay carts him out to the hospital to meet her too. Nathan Wesninski was not in the room when his daughter was born. He doesn’t even meet her until she’s six months old. Wymack is the first man Nathania meets and she doesn’t even know. Mary didn’t want to hand Nathania over to Wymack but she and Kay are friends and she knows that he’s her baby daddy. Wymack doesn’t recognize Ania because he only knew her for a month when she was a newborn. Of course he doesn’t recognize her. However, he thinks about her a lot. She’s actually the first baby he’s ever held. He didn’t get to hold Kevin until he was two. Wymack treats Ania the same way he treats Neil but he puts in a bit of extra care bc he knows about Millport incident. 

Abby is definitely as much of a mom figure as she was to Neil. However, after she shows her her scars, Ania gets a lot closer to her. She refuses to tell her things but when Erin gets sent to Easthaven, Ania has a hard time staying at the dorms. She spends all her time at the court bc she has to. She hides in the library bc it’s the one place she wouldn’t see Erin anyways. She crashes at Abby’s a few times because there are times she can’t stand the thought of going back to the dorms without feeling the brush of Erin’s hand on the back of her neck. 

Oh. That’s a thing. Every night after midnight practice n Kev has gone to his room, Ania says goodnight to Erin. Erin will trail her hand across the back of Ania’s neck as she passes in response. It makes Ania shiver because her neck is as much of an erogenous zone as Erin’s is. Erin always watches it out of the corner of her eye bc God it’s the most amazing thing she’s ever seen. It makes her feel. Ania doesn’t really realize???? She’s so dumb. She knows it makes her feel good but she just can’t for the life of her figure out why. 

It’s time I addressed the real psycho lesbian… While Erin’s is a facade, Riko is genuinely psychotic. She’s seven types of crazy. Actually, it skews a little more yandere but I will go into depth about it in the Fem!Jean fic. Rn, I’ll try to keep it short. Riko has her first crush when she’s eight? Nine? She kisses her crush on the cheek when she’s ten and Tetsuji… doesn’t take it well to say the least. The bit about it’s easier to remain straight? It’s the thing Kevin hears Riko say to herself every morning in front of the mirror. Regardless, Riko never gets over that first crush. Riko will never not miss Nathania Wesninski. When she finds out who Ania really is? She loses it. It’s fate, she tells herself. She will have Ania or die trying. Christmas at Evermore is a thing so I mean, I guess she does have Ania :( But she wants Ania to love her. She tells Ania as much and Ania spits in her face. :)

Most of Erin’s relationships are the same except for the Matt and Renee thing I covered earlier. The only other one that changes is Kevin. I know I say this a lot, but she really thought Ania and Kev would be a thing. She says no to Kevin for everything bc she’s petty.  Kevin has always gotten everything that he wanted handed to him on a silver plate. Now he’s taking the one thing she really wants.  If he gets Ania, he can’t have anything else. Again, I’ll cover her relationship with Jean later.

neil josten: this is tricky because in my head, he is NOT white. he has beautiful brown skin so i definitely headcanon him as either half first nations (like me!) or hispanic. they aren’t interchangeable i know but my hc as him as native is pretty much me projecting. anyway i could pick the obvious answer of jake cooper (1, 2) who is beautiful and has that pretty boy charm to him that neil has, but boy is white af. there’s also froy gutierrez, who is stunning and a lil cutie, and is actually an actor! my only problem there is that. he’s just so /cute/ that i can’t picture him as neil entirely. i’d love to hear what other people think!

andrew minyard: OH GOD. WTF. NO. HE CANNOT EXIST IN RL. THIS 5′ TALL BEEFCAKE?? WITH BLONDE HAIR AND GOLDEN EYES?? i legit haven’t ever come across anyone who fits the bill, so i usually picture fanart. that being said, there are a few people who give off andrew vibes. as nora said, toby hemingway (1, 2) has that ‘good-looking-but-kinda-scary’ look that fits andrew. but idk i think andrew has more defined facial features. i despise the thought of dane dehaan as andrew because he looks like 40 years old (not to say he isn’t good looking) but dane’s voice is definitely andrew’s 100%. also i’m not that informed about kpop but i kno this guy and he’d make a good andrew right?

kevin day: oh this is eASY!! the one, the only, the man, the myth, the legend, LAURENCE COKE!! he has such a beautiful face, a jacked af body, and he has that arrogant look to him that says ‘i’m better than u’ because he is! but. BUT. my dearest headcanon that i won’t allow anyone to take from me is that kevin day and wymack are native american. so that being said, a very beautiful kevin day would be dyami thomas!!

nicky hemmick: those who say tyler posey is nicky hemmick can jump in a fire. tho i will admit he could probably act as a good nicky, but,,,,, nah. nicky has dark skin. i picture him with long and curly hair, that always gets in his face. somebody on twitter once asked nora about nicky and she responded with a perfect face cast i think but i cannot remember the name. if we’re going for face/hair/body type though, this kid and this kid help build nicky up in my head.

dan wilds: dan is not white. i have never ever thought of her as white. she is beautiful with her short hair and her tiny fierceness. i think aiyana lewis is BEAUTIFUL and is who i generally picture as dan. but, like my kevin hc, i do want to believe that dan is native american. this user found the most beautiful lady that would make an amazing dan! look at her with short hair oh wow ♥

Let’s set the stage.... Darren did an interview with Vulture that was released today. In the piece- Darren Criss on Playing Serial Killer Andrew Cunanan in ACS: Versace and Passing As White- Darren spoke very candidly about his feelings regarding his own sexuality, how he feels being straight has impacted his portrayal of gay characters, and whether he considers himself as Asian-American. 

This Tweet that ANON mentions which was “LIKED” by Chris (although it is no longer on his list of “likes” so IDK man, again the shady weird Tweets that cause chaos in Darren’s and Chris’s fandom and then disappear.....)

Anon. I just said the same to a friend. D doesn’t look good.  He looks like a shell of himself.  It’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen him look this exhausted.  I think it’s been a long week with OS, the team of babysitters at an interview, and the love Simon premiere.  Add the Steve interview airing which must be painful to deal with.  And ofc travel again.  I get tonight wasn’t optional but this much constant travel takes a toll. I’m including at the end f the post all of the photos from this evening that I could find. That includes the Red Carpet photos they are talking about as well as the photos taken inside the event. 

It cracks me up every time the CCers talk about how tired Darren is because diagnosing something like exhaustion or mental illness from  photographs is simply ridiculous. The fandom skirts the labels, but what they are insinuating with their comments “he doesn’t look good”, “he is a shell of himself” or “his eyes are dead” is depression. You don’t diagnose depression from one or two photographs. They single out one or two photos from the many photos taken then plaster those all over their Tumblr and simply ignore the dozens of Happy, present, engaging, goofy Darren pics- and they hope you do too. Diagnosis mental health by photo is bad enough but it is even more ridiculous in light of  Darren’s photophobia and the fact that the red carpet photos are taken in front of dozens and dozens of camera flashes. Darren has spoken many times about how much it bothers his eyes. FYI- I might just have some credentials after my name that show I have studied assessing and diagnosing.. 

I also crack up when they talk about how exhausting his air travel schedule. What is it that Dr. CC said? Oh right, that “this much constant travel takes a toll”. That’s funny  because my husband flies for a living and  going coast-to-coast and back again  in two days is a regular activity for him. Sometimes he goes BACK agin the next day!  No way!.WAy!!!!!  It never “takes a toll” and he is not as young as Darren. 

On the twitter like.  I feel like people are constantly looking for C to mock D in some way.  I’ve seen it a few times since the engage.   I assume yes it’s tied as the quote is too similar to the goto quote team inhumane adds to every print article.  But it’s clear to me it’s the situation being shaded, not D.  Ok, seriously.?  It continues to blow my mind how there is a complete lack of self- awareness in this fandom. First of all, as I mentioned above, the Tweet isn't on Chris’s “Likes” page so IDK what happened or if it ever was. Maybe someone is just trying to stir up the shit. BUUUUTTTTTT if he did “LIKE”. it then I don’t know how you could take it any other way than for its face value. To say it is NOT shading a straight actor for playing a gay character AFTER Darren just did an interview where he spoke at length about this very topic is just being obtuse. Either Chris is shading Darren or Chris has NO clue that Darren did the interview released today and it is just a coincidence that he “LIKED” the Tweet today. To say that the Tweet is instead shading the “entire situation” is contorting the facts so far I am sure the author sprained her brain coming up with it. Reminds me of a Trump Pundit tonight on CNN who tried to argue that Trump fires his team members frequently because he hires them to meet an agenda and then once that is met, he needs new staff to meet the next goal.  

I wish people would realize. D&C are a couple.  A partnership.  Together for 7+ years.  Ofc they are normal & have disagreements.  If they didn’t I’d be concerned. But C is certainly not using SM to express this.  He has way too much respect for D to use a public forum in this manner.  If he has an issue.  I’d imagine he addresses D in person, through “"real life.” You WISH that people would realize D & C are a couple? It won’t happen because they aren’t a couple.  My proof? because Darren just announced his engagement....because Chris has called Will his boyfriend....because Darren has said over and over and over that he is straight.... because Darren has been photographed living his life with Mia for 8 years ...because Chris has been photographed living his life with Will for 4 or 5 years...because Chris said point blank that he and Darren were not in a relationship, that Glee was not a documentary and the “shipping” bothered him.  ...because the CC fandom lost their shit when Chris and Darren were in the same room together last week indicating how little they have been at the same event in a town as small as Hollywood- it takes a lot of work for them to avoid each other and anyone who is watching knows they are not at the same events.  ...because Chris and Darren lead entirely different lives and to imagine they are together as a couple is simply WISHful thinking.  Darren and Chris have nothing in common, they have none of the same interests and none of the same friends. Your WISH will never come true because Chris and Darren simply aren’t in a relationship.  BUT the most asinine point of your statement is that Chris wouldn’t use Social Media to express himself. YOU claim all the time that Chris is speaking to YOU and the CC fandom via social media. YOU claim all the time that the very PRIVATE Chris Colfer uses public forums to send you-literal strangers-secret messages. You don’t get to claim over and over that he is speaking to you via Twitter and Instagram and then claim he would never express himself that way.  Maybe the last sentence above is in FACT true- YOU IMAGINE.  Exactly... You IMAGINE.  That is all that there is.  Even if Chris and Darren were in fact in a relationship, you would have no details about their individual behavior or their behavior as a couple. You would just IMAGINE.

I personally think C has used SM to show an abundance of support for D during this incredibly difficult time for them both.  I continue to maintain they are standing strong together.  And if SM hints weren’t enough.  The show of solidarity at the EJAF screening should speak volumes to anyone aware of the truth. It is literally ridicules that you are still losing your shit that they sat together at a big fund raiser... then again if that is all you get for 2 years I guess you NEED that moment to MEAN something BIG. Whatever you tell yourself to get through the next two years before they share a meal across a 15  foot table again   The CC Fandom has literally been saying the same crap for 8 years.  

For 8 years we have heard you all rant that “this is going to be over soon” and Chris and Darren would be riding off into the sunset “soon” and yet here we are with both couples seeming to. be closer than ever. To take one’s straight  relationship more and more public right before one breaks up with her and comes out as gay seems like a really weird pla when you are doing this on the world stage.

You claimed they would break up before ACS, that Fox and RM had a deal with Chris and Darren and you got burned when nether happened.  You’ve hesitated to predict a new break up date and stopped talking about the “deal” but yet you still claim there won’t be a wedding. The fact is that neither you nor I has any intel or control over that and either it will happen or it won’t . You learn your lessons slowly don’t cha?
