For example, Laszlo literally says "God" in the pilot, but then also flinches when Guillermo crosses his fingers in the same episode? Nandor can turn into vapor but can't escape the cage in Animal Control? (we can assume that one is because they're all Big Dumb). Colin Robinson has parents - that are still living??? And of course the glossing over of the year abroad. (but that's my television-wide gripe. I HATE time skips, no matter the show. They're lazy and tell me that you didn't actually know what to do with your plot). I could go on, there are lots.

We are never going to get the huge, dramatic, heart-wrenching love confession and hour-long sex scene that some fans are actually expecting. I'm combining these two, since they're kind of similar. I feel like there's SO MUCH that everyone appreciates, it's hard to come up with something that people have fully ignored.

But I think one of my FAVORITE parts of the show is when they combine actual artwork with images of the characters. My whole life is art history, so I geek out a bit every. Single. Time. I LOVE the attention to detail, and every time I go to an art museum (which is fairly often) I can't help but wonder where the characters could fit in.

It ALSO makes me OBSESS over what contemporary artist would paint vampire Guillermo. I've definitely already made a post about this, but my current bid is for Alejandro Pasquale.

(EDIT: Another artist I think would be great is Ben Ashton. His visuals with the classical style would be so interesting to see hanging next to the actual old artwork in the mansion)

Ok so anyway my last weekend:

Dude im trying so hard to remeber how this weekend started, ive seen him a lot this weekend. Oh ok thats right the vintage market. So i hadnt seen this dude in almost two weeks since the first date we went on. And i wasnt sure if i was going to again at that point, bc our schedules kept not syncing up and he was busy, or i was busy.

I was going to the night Market with bestie and her friend, and this guy texted that day saying “oh you should come see me at the market, im going to be MCing the dance battle.” And i was like worm ok! Im going to that anyway! So us girls go, look around, i say hello to him. He’s doing his thing on the mic, talking to me, doing his thing on the mic. It was cute, he kept coming back to me haha. He would take some steps away to be closer to the sound system bc of the range on the mic. And we’re talking, he asks me what im doing after, i say NOTHING WHAT YOU DOING BBGIRL (but more cool and slick lmao). So he says hes off at 930. I leave and go back to my friends, we walk around and look at the clothes, we leave to get some food, i didnt eat much bc i was hoping to actually go out after with this guy. And ok so like the way he talks, hes very coy, cery go with the flow, and im not always sure what is a joke or if he fr want me (LMAO), so at that point i still wasnt sure if i was going to die anything with him after. But i showed vstie the texts with this guys and she told me that yea, he for sure wanted to hang with me after. So they drop me back off at the market at 930, but wait for me in the parking lot just in case. The plan was for me to go chat up the guy snd see what the move was, then text them and let them know if i was staying or going with them. BUT, i felt bad about making them wait that i texted them “ok u can go” before i even talked to the guy. Dude, i was nervous to go up and talk to him again bc he was around all his friends and i was now ALONE. If he had said no, the plan was for me to just uber home bc bestie had driven me there. But ANYWAY, i say hi, he says hes going tonhelp cleanup the dj and aound setup and i can meet up out in the lobby after im done shopping. And i was like OMG YAAAYY (on the inside, bc i really like him, he rizzed me tf up, hes cery goody and silly and fun to be around).

And we go to dennys after. Dennys was fun, hes a good chat. I hate when people kill conversations and he wasnt doing that. OK but then after Denny’s, he drives me home, and he made a joke of like oh you should try and sneak me in and I said OK for real. So I go inside my house and double check if my family is asleep, they weren’t so I go back to his car to say goodbye And as a joke, I said to him that he could come back in like two hours, basically at 2 AM, and he could sneak in then. And he said OK! He really said yeah OK I could do that! So he stayed in the area with some friends and then he came back at two fucking AM LMAO. And I did sneak him in . And rachel got some ACCCTIOOOON. Quietly bc my parnets were still asleep in their room. And he stayed the night until 7 am -oop 😅😳. I had sonmuch fun, hes so cute and hes a big cuddler. “Notice how he’s always a step behind his brother. Too slow. Senya always worried that his impulsivity was dangerous, but I knew better. He hesitates, and in doing so, he hands control to an enemy already poised to strike.”

Valkorion turned to face Alara, studying her with a cool disinterest that made her skin crawl. “I saw when the children were young that Thexan was the only one fit to challenge me. So,” he added with a shrug, “I ensured his destruction, and, in doing so, left Arcann primed for my control. But he and his sister were both far too volatile to assume the mantle I had prepared for them. I had to find another—and I found you. Unfortunately, you were as determined as the others to resist my power.”

“A mistake you won’t be able to repeat,” Alara growled.

“Arcann,” she screamed, the raw cry bouncing off vaulted ceilings overhead. “I know where you are. Either you let me in, or I’ll get there myself.”

The memory froze around them again, but instead of shifting to a new one, it seemed stuck. The walls around her flickered, jittering in place like a glitched-out datapad display, but the scene refused to change.

Janus adjusted his hat as he walked down the sidewalk and listened to the leaves crunch under his feet. The clouds blocked the full moon, and the only light around was the streetlights that flickered every once in a while. The wind was cool but not cold, but it never bothered Janus anyway because he was always cold. He wished the wind would stop trying to blow his hat off mostly. How was he supposed to enjoy his 3 am stroll in the quiet little town if he had to keep chasing his hat everywhere?

The sound of heavy and labored breathing caught Janus's attention. He paused and scanned the area. His sharp eyes almost missed the small movement behind the dumpster hidden in the shadows. Janus took a deep breath and smelled blood. Lots and lots of blood. Janus covered his nose as he felt his pupils dilate. He inched toward the smell with his body on high alert.

The sight behind the dumpster wasn't pretty. A man maybe in his early thirties lay against the brick. His glasses were cracked and missing a lense. His eyes were squeezed shut. His head slumped to the left and revealed two puncture wounds and a whole lot of dried up blood.

"Great," Janus mumbled as he covered his nose with his hand. He leaned down to press his fingers against their neck. No heart beat. So why were they still breathing? Unless-

"Oh no," Janus whispered to himself. He looked around the alley to make sure he was truly alone. After he made sure they were really alone, he picked up the stranger and dashed away as fast as he could. Hopefully no one saw him or what happened, because he really didn't feel like moving again.

The house was quiet for the most part when Janus returned. He could hear playful yelling above him and the bass from too loud headphones. Janus shut the door with his foot and waited to see how long it took for someone to smell what was going on.

It didn't take long for the teen on the couch to lower his headphones and say, "Geez what died?"

The teen's eyes widened as they settled on what was in Janus's arms "Janus what the fuck?"

"Now Virgil, I promise I have a perfectly good explanation for this," Janus said.

Virgil watched Janus leave the living room and followed him into the kitchen. He said, "You better start explaining." Janus put the body on the table, and Virgil sputtered. "Oh no. Dead guy off the table."

"It's not like we use it," Janus mumbled. He checked for a pulse again, hoping he missed it.

Virgil stood at Janus's side and stared down at the corpse. He wrinkled his nose. Soon, he noticed the body was still breathing, and if he wasn't already pale he was now. "Christ, Janus, did you turn him?"

"No, I found him like this," Janus said. "Someone else did it."

"Great. You want to tell the twins we're not the only ones around here or should I?"

"I'll think about it," Janus said. He paused and added, "I don't know who is sloppy enough to leave a human unfinished but they're going to get us all killed."

"Yeah, so the sooner the twins take care of it the better."

Janus leaned against the table and crossed his arms. He watched the once human man laying on the table with sadness. That poor human wasn't going to ever be the same when he woke up, and if they asked, Janus would gladly put them out of their misery.

The sound of feet pounding on the stairs came into the kitchen, and in popped two rowdy boys that looked like they just got out of high school.

“We smelled blood,” they said at the same time.

Janus held up his hands and a smile tugged at his lips. He said, “I can’t get anything past you two can I?”

Roman and Remus walked closer to the body and were surprised to find it still breathing. Remus put his fingers on the body’s neck while Roman looked at Janus.

“Did you turn-”

“No, I didn’t,” Janus said with a frown. “Is everyone going to ask me that?”

“Yes,” the twins said at the same time.

Virgil snorted and Janus rolled his eyes. Virgil said, “Logan’s not going to like this.”

“Logan can bite me,” Janus said back. He walked to the cupboard and started digging around. Virgil rose a brow as he watched him to get an answer, but Janus pulled out a strange bottle before he could say anything. Janus tipped the bottle. Two or three small round objects poured out, and he put two back in. He walked over to the body and looked at Remus.

“Hold their mouth open,” Janus said.

Remus did as he was told without question, and Roman turned away and covered his eyes. Virgil rose a curious brow. Janus held the pill over their teeth and dropped it in and stood back. Remus snapped their mouth closed.

No one moved for two minutes until Virgil opened his mouth to speak. Before he could say anything the body on the table jolted. Janus put his hands on their shoulders as Remus kept the body’s mouth shut. Virgil yelped in alarm and moved to push Janus off but a quick stare from Janus stopped him in his tracks.

“Are you killing them?” Virgil asked out loud.

“No,” Janus said through his teeth. “I’m helping them come back to life or else they’ll be dead on the table for a week and turn into a bloodthirsty monster.”

The body’s eyes shot open. They were crystal blue and turned straight to Janus. Janus swallowed hard as he watched the pupils go from small to large and back to small again. 

“Shh,” Janus said as he moved to cradle the man’s head instead. He rubbed his fingers through his hair and massaged the tender scalp. “We’re trying to help you. Relax.”

The man listened and stared into Janus’s changing eye color. Instead of red they were now gold. The calming spell from Janus worked on more than the man as the whole room relaxed. Remus let go of the man and took two steps back to Roman’s side and told him it was over as he rubbed circles on his twin brother’s back.

The man in Janus’s hands opened his mouth to speak but really he just coughed. Janus smirked at that. He continued to rub circles on the man’s head.

“Where am I?” the man asked at last.

“You’re safe. What do you remember happening last?” Janus asked.

The man grimaced before he said, “I remember walking home from work and going to a bar. I remember getting really, really drunk.”

“Do you remember your name?” Janus asked.

“Patton,” he said. “Who are you?”

“I’m Janus. I found you in the back alley a few blocks from my house. You’re safe now.”

Patton looked around the room and noticed more eyes on him. He sat up on the table and looked at his surroundings. Janus stepped back to give him space. He smiled at each one of them and said, “Hello.”

“Sup,” Virgil said without moving from his defensive shoulders hunched position.

Roman smiled brightly and said, “It’s nice to meet you, Patton. I’m Roman-”

“And I’m Remus-”

“And it’s nice to meet you,” they said at once.

Patton couldn’t help but laugh at that. He swung his legs over the table and looked around. “So, thanks for rescuing me, but I think I should get back home now.”

Janus put a hand to Patton’s chest, and Patton looked down. From there he could see how bloody his shirt was. Patton panicked. He looked at his shirt as a pain bit his neck. He put a hand to it and noticed how sticky it was. Patton’s panicked eyes turned to Janus who offered a sympathetic smile.

“I’m sorry,” Janus said as he looked at Patton, “but you died.”

“What?” Patton asked as he pushed Janus’s hand away. He jumped onto the floor and backed up against the fridge. “Am I a ghost now?”

“No,” Janus said with a laugh. “I wouldn’t be able to touch you if you were a ghost.”

“So what’s going on?” Patton asked.

“You’re a vampire,” Remus said with a wide toothy grin that showed off his fangs.

Patton turned his head to Janus and asked, “Did you-”

“No,” Janus said as he ignored the laugh from the twins. He sighed through his nose. “I didn’t do it, but someone else did. It was either take you home with me or let you turn into a mindless monster on the street, and I’m sure none of us wanted that.”

Patton let his words sink in. He scratched at the dry blood on his neck. When he opened his mouth to speak again, but Roman interrupted him.

“Logan is home!” he said.

Two seconds later, the front door opened and closed. The room held its breath. A new man walked into the room and stared at all of them, and his eyes settled on Patton. He sucked in a breath and shook his head with a defeated look on his face.”

“Not another one,” Logan sighed.

Thank you!!! I do a lot of people watching, and that’s about it tbh! I do look at fashion photos and magazines and, like, clothes displays in stores? when I happen across them, but most of my inspo when it comes to outfits starts from me watching people and liking how they’re dressed - in that sense I like watching vlogs and stuff like that too, people these days are so stylish...

Since my brush settings are a reward for my $6+ patreons, I don’t really feel like it’d be fair to share them! But you can probably find some old version of them in my art tips tag :D as for art tips... for lineart the only thing I can really say is to not overthink it and just go with the flow, whatever feels comfortable for you will make for the most visually pleasing lineart too, in my experience! Coloring is something I’m constantly experimenting with as well, but there too my usual mindset is “the easier and faster the better” - generally, I just use flats and then add shadows on them with any color that goes from light blue to pink-ish purple on a layer set on multiply, anything that makes it look fancier than that is just me adding small details like sparkles or shines or anything of the like!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm the thing is that drawing a lot really is all there is to it, but if I had to give one single serious tip for this it would be to find something you really really really really enjoy drawing and to just draw it - draw it badly if that’s the only way you know how to draw it, but make sure to always draw it while having fun, and slowly you’ll get better without even realizing you are. If you like a ship, draw that ship! If you like plants, draw plants! If you like animals, draw animals! It’s okay if you don’t know how to draw it, or if you feel like your skills aren’t good enough for what you mean to draw, because honestly I felt like that when I started too, and I still feel like that every time I pick up my pen, and I’m sure I’ll forever feel like that for as long as I’ll draw - my ideas will always be bigger than my skills, and maybe so will yours! So what’s it matter if you start drawing stuff beyond your skill level now or later? At least you’ll be having fun with it, and the only way to learn how to do something new is to go and do it, anyway

so Chan works around his neighborhood as a tech kid

he usually helps the older people, like grandparents or other adults with empty nests

you know, people without a younger generation to rely on

because of that, he doesn’t really do anything that’s necessarily… hard

most of the time he literally just turns the computer on and off

others are just updates on, like, phones or something

(Chan’s mom literally makes him do that shit all the time, which is what made him be the “tech kid” of the summer boys)

because of this job tho, he’s got a rep as their adopted grandson throughout his neighborhood

it’s really sweet

so there are other things he does, but they’re fairly easy

he gets called to help set up new laptops or desktops or something like that

sometimes parents call him to help their children set up like gaming laptops

but, like, they already know what they’re doing and he gets paid just for reading some manual instructions lol

most of the time it usually ends up with him spending like two hours teaching them how to use the mouse and type on the keyboard and all that other stuff

the other summer boys feel really bad for him because sometimes the customers get super infuriating

not in the sense that they’re rude or anything

it’s more of like, who doesn’t know how to use a fucking laptop mouse?

(but also, like, Mark struggles with technology all the time and whenever Chan points this out, the boys are like Mark who?) 

the thing is tho is that Chan actually has a lot of patience and he thinks it’s super funny whenever these people struggle against technology

the amount of times he’s been called over to Soonyoung’s place is insane, but Chan thinks it’s super funny whenever he’s practically slamming his hands onto the keyboard

Soonyoung: “so if I click this…”

Chan: “hyung, you don’t have to click the left and right side of the computer mouse”

Soonyoung: “thEN WHAT ARE THEY FOR CHAN”

Chan: “I should really raise my hourly wage”

Soonyoung: “I’m just trying to make a presentation for this class why am I struggling so much” T^T

but yeah, his job isn’t necessarily hard

on some rare occasions it’ll be like programming or something but

he also knows how to do basic coding so

(he thanks his university’s stupid acadmic requirements for that)

and if not, there’s google

so he meets you because you needed some help with your laptop

it’s very old and you are very reluctant to to buy a new one

why?

because you have the mind of a 90 year old

which means you got the hang of this laptop and don’t know how to use other ones

so when a friend gives you an old laptop bc you won’t just buy a new one…………..

things get complicated quickly

because, first of all, the laptop is one of those fancy ass 2 in 1 laptops

and you didn’t even know that

…………. until you opened it to clean it and it started malfunctioning

not really malfunctioning, but more of…….. weird

anyways

your friend knew you were going to need some help, so your friend recommended calling Chan to help you set it up

You: “you want me to pay a guy to help me with something I can google on my phone?”

“try to google it on your new laptop then” :)

“fuck you” 

so you get his number from your friend and shoot him a text

a couple of minutes later, he sent a response and you arrange a time together, also providing your address and all the other details

when he comes, it’s a bit awkward but it’s okay

you didn’t really expect him to be this young

but it’s fine

he goes in and makes small talk as he opens your laptop and such

he mentions his university, his major and club activities

and you talk a bit about yourself too

like your summer plans

the things you’re doing and what you’re prepping up for

once he gets your laptop open and started, he turns to you

Chan: “so what’s the problem?”

You: “..... there’s not exactly a problem, it’s more of a complication”

Chan: “complication?”

You: “I don’t… exactly know how to use it”

Chan: “why did you get this laptop then?”

You: “I didn’t really get it… it was more of a gift”

he raises an eyebrow, but he doesn’t say anything else

although there is a hint of a smirk

You: “could you just… help me figure this out?”

You: “I just don’t know the functions and stuff and I really don’t want to break it”

Chan: “okay, okay, give me a bit of time to mess with it and I’ll teach you”

so he messes around the laptop to figure out its functions and such

you’re on the side, just chatting with him as he does his thing

you both bond

it’s like that for a hot bit

but then he passes the laptop to you

Chan: “your turn” :)

You: oh shit

this is when the fun really begins

and by fun, I mean insanity

it was just two hours of you struggling

Chan: “so, there’s a stylus pen included for the touch function”

You: “ooooo, where?”

Chan: “it’s on the right side”

You: “I don’t see anything”

Chan: “you have to press the right side”

You: “press?? the right side???”

Chan: “(Y/N), not literally, there’s a part you have to—oh my God”

your brain cells were struggling to work with the technology

lowkey he was laughing real hard on the inside and failing to contain it

he lost it tho when you were trying to flip the screen into tablet mode and screamed because you thought you broke it for a hot sec

you know he was laughing at you but he looked pretty cute doing it

You: “laugh all you want, but when you’re suffering like this, I’ll be there”

Chan: “trust me, you aren’t as bad as some of my friends”

You: “I doubt it”

Chan: “you haven’t met Mark”

Chan: “I’m pretty sure he still has an ipod somewhere”

You: “..... really?”

so eventually he does have to leave

it took a while but you got there eventually

he also invites you out

Chan: “I feel like you would get along with my friends, would you like to join us for a movie night?”

(you didn’t notice him looking at you from how you were looking at him)

You: “yeah, sure, sounds fun”

and hence your first unofficial date

it was fun

the other boys easily let you in and they were real easy going

you all got along and had a lot of fun as time went by

Mark: “the ending was all interconnected”

Renjun: “you know that’s called a wrap up… you know… as a point of the movie”

and then when it was all over, Chan walked you home

Hansol: “oooooo”

Jaemin: “cute”

(he advised you to ignore them, but the redness of his ears shows how he didn’t even listen to his own advice lmao)

the walk home was a bit short, yet the conversation just kept going

and I don’t mean just the walk, you two kept in touch through texting

so that also meant spending more time together

hanging out

and getting to know one another

it’s cute bc some of the time is spent trying to teach you how to use your technology

Chan: “was this a seduction tactic to provide you with free services?”

You: “100% Channie”

he came over once with some of his video games and the two of you had a blast

(even though it took awhile for you to understand the controls)

at some point he was real close when he was trying to move your fingers along the controls……………….

hm, yes

you highkey just kept staring at his face rather than the controls and you were just………..heavily distracted

anyways

you actually come with him to some of his jobs

his usuals (i.e. the elders) think it’s super cute

“you brought your partner with you!!! hi!!!!”

they gave you cookies and you were sold: you were never going to leave

well, you did bc Chan dragged you out

while he works tho, you kind of just admire him from the side

you do feel kind of bad for him whenever he has to work with people who are just as bad with technology as... well, you 

but he always reassures you

Chan: “this is good because you can see what you look like”

You: “...... I can always leave”

Chan: “not with all these cookies you can’t”

You: “goDDAMN IT”
