I read too many stories of "women" throughout history who lived as men and wore men's clothing getting beaten and arrested for it, sensationalized in the press as "man-woman," painted as perverts and monsters, put in literal freakshows, and forcibly institutionalized to sit by quietly while non-transmascs loudly and confidently claim that "female masculinity" has never been targeted as much as "male femininity" has. Anyone saying Buddie couldn’t happen because then they couldn’t both work on the 118 or the same shift clearly hasn’t watched Lone Star, where a father and son both work the 126 on the same shift. And obviously have also forgotten this is TV, and TV shows can do whatever they want. Buck and Eddie being together while working in the same firehouse will only be a problem if the writers want it to be.
