Alright, small Celann hcs I've been thinking about lately that are a little TOO small for their own posts:

He used to keep his hair short in the back until he split his head open getting thrown into a tree during the Incident The too-late healing meant all his injuries scarred, and the head wound interfered with a bit of hair growth. He let his hair get long to cover it up

ALSO used to keep clean shaven, but an identity crisis/crisis of faith/self-imposed exile does things to a guy and he developed a depression beard he got attached to. It feels weird to get rid of it not because of his wack mental state, but because he (and everyone else) are so used to seeing it on his face.

He WILL gnaw on things. He keeps things specifically to chew on because sometimes you just get really in your head about something (not necessarily bad somethings) and it helps. Modern day Celann would be the bane of pens everywhere.

GREAT at running away from people/places (Charlotte/home, Isran/the Vigil.) Leaving is a skill he's honed for years (which contributes considerably to his self loathing.) Fortunately for him his fiancee did a stint as a bounty hunter and she excels at finding people. Do you see it. They're meant to be together. I need to write that fucking lore post oh my god

aight so for context a few months ago while deep in the trenches of my greek mythology obsession i made a minor underworld diety oc who goes by kore or jazzy. shes my favourite muffin and i love her.

and after reading one too many apollo fics here lmao i really wanted to explore his domains (which i find endlessly fascinating bc its all my favourite things in one: medicine art literature) and learn more about him as a god via a character study of sorts.

(ive yet to write anything for them lol but when i do it will be great :P)

anyway back to the story they are teachers!! bc im currently rethinking my life choices and having fun imagining what my life could have been like things went differently (11/10 recommend. great for the blorbos). babys first midlife crisis at the ripe old age of 21 lol

apollo has heterochromia :3 dunno if u can see it but his eyes are olive green (right) and a teal (left). representing the suns reach over land and sea. ALSO FRECKLES >:D

my girl jazzy has the most boring brown eyes ever. no pools of honey or flecks of gold. just good ol dirt brown. *foreshadowing*

short curly hair somewhere between brown and black for her, and floofy kraft singles waves for him XD

jazzy is a knitwear gremlin (like urs truly lol), 24/7 turtlenecks cardigans jumpers scarfs all of it. her hands (and extremeties) are always cold bc bad circulation and probably dehydration. shush

palettes are warm and earthy for jazzy (wow im so subtle) and cool celestial for apollo (and artemis hehe)

so thats mostly greens esp olive, brown and beige and a healthy sprinkle of rose. le aesthetic is forest/ gremlincore for my girl

and lots of blues esp navy and shiny silver and gold for chaotic academia sunshine boi (TIL astroacademia is a thing and like wow)

apollo has 2 degrees bc its cool af to me (my dad has two masters and its been on my bucket list since. i dont know why i am the way that i am either) one in nursing and another in english literature (and a masters in translation bc i can)

he teaches english and history tho and the art afterschool clubs. yes clubs plural. i am insane and so is he.

jazzy is a biomed graduate and is currently pursuing a masters in forensic toxicology (sucks that i hade organic chem this would be fun to write) so she teaches bio. probably part time idk.

i will get to the details of lore and what theyre like and their work ethics etc but i is tired and id really like to finish some work before bed lol so goodnight for now and enjoy and feel free to ask stuff ig :3

What do you think makes for more interesting character backstories?

aint that the million dollar question huh? I should start by saying, I assume you're looking for advice on writing a kinky oc, and thats why youre asking me. So my main disclaimer is: Its more important for you to express yourself and have fun than it is to make something "interesting" or "good." That probably sounds insane but for real, you can do literally anything you want. But if you need something more substantial to work off of, Ill start by saying I believe it's better overall to make your Lord of the Rings BEFORE you make your Silmarillion. What I mean by that is I think its more important to workshop a character's looks, personality, perhaps even a main story if you want to tell one, BEFORE you go into a bunch of background information and lore. I personally tend to get more invested in character backstories, when I've already gotten to know them for a bit. And a simple way to write a backstory is to ask yourself "why do they act this way?" "how do they know this person?" "what changed them, and what were they like before?" Also like, what character backstories have you seen and personally like? Think about why you like them! Think about the purpose and intent behind the creation of said backtories and when, where, and why theyre being told! What themes are at play? Pursue these thoughts as potential sources for inspiration! and then make them fat as fuck!

✍️🏾its long and deals with two heavy themes but its one answer.✍️🏾

highly likely of what they will never do towards any muse, to rip the band aid off to start: rape. in any state, that is what you can rely on them never doing. everything has to be clear cut. End of. With signatures. It has to be talked about between muses, not just writers, muses too. If there is something that is triggering to that muse that they do that remind of their abuser (if in available backstory or a thread or a headacanon), it has to be outwardly verbally communicated. Not implied, not presumed or assumed, it has to be spoken about between them. It. Is. A. Must.

There can be play (in the likes of petplay) but again, it harkens back to THE MUSES TALKING. not just a paragraph explaining what that muse is saying and ending it with a few dialogue at the beginning and at the end: they will have to say it all.

They are not going to read your mind or walk through memories by themselves all willy nilly by simple tactile telepathic contact. You are the tour guide: guide them by the physical hand yourself. They can see it but you ie your muse are the audio description of your own traumatic experiences. They aren't fully time lords, they graduated and got the degree and title of a time lord and therby can call themselves that but they aren't fully what is expected of a time lord by others' interpretation or oberservation based solely on the few that strictly just Gallifreyan.

It does not matter if it is uncomfortable for them, your muse has to be open about that specific thing towards them. They will shut down and out and stay far from you if your muse do not elaborate on the painful bits. (this varies upon which muse but main muses like v or vin will more or less stay away). Especially if that muse is comparing them to the one that abuse them. We can plot and talk about how my ocs WOULD react (we can kiki about it for a while) but, that is a what if scenario. That is not a genuine reaction, that is not a genuine thread of them sitting tf down and talking about it.

They are open. Unhealthily open. It's why certain regenerations are mainly to themselves, so particular and keep an flag pole's length, even if that. That was how they were raised initially until they were reintergrated into Gallifreyan ways. They are used to everything (heavy on the everything, anything you can think of that isnt shared, yes it is where they were born and primarily brought up [Nyintr]) shared, then partially and now none - by time wise by their true ages - within an hour and thirty minutes. honestly i would say yeah any fandom art that interprets the characters differently tends do not do as good, unless its like, yassifying them ykwim. otherwise when people dont branch out ime ive noticed it tends to go fandom art > original art > fandom oc art, and ive always wondered if thats bc when it comes to fandom ocs (especially in things with chooseable protagonists) people get territorial about their own/dont want to see the characters shipped with other fandom ocs lol. at least thats what ive observed of a lot of biowareheads

Can we just stop this doubling misconception? Idonno bout yall but the whole "This isn't how Rping should work" and "You can't care about two threads at once" is bullshit?

For one, Some of yall have like 4+ threads and get confused about doubling? That's literally what doubling is. Its having two threads but with the same person. Just because this is something that they require or would rather do, doesn't mean they don't care or are less interested in your side of things. Just because you can't give the same energy for both sides doesn't mean everyone else is also incapable.

If you only want to write your Ocs, thats literally okay. People who do double get frustrated because we just see things differently. For me personally, I like doubling because i get to help someone get the pairing they want too. I know how hard it is in some fandoms. Its a win/win for both parties.

For some people it's a business deal of sorts. And if thats how they run things and the second party is okay with that....okay. That works for them.

I say all this to say that, Doubling isn't souless or the wrong way about it. Its a different way. And thats how RP should be. Different for everybody who does it. Unique to that person. And Fun. If you see no fun in it, Okay. You don't have too. If you do see fun in it, okay. Have fun. Some of us need to accept when you aint compatible with someone else and just suck it up.
