(Alittle disclaimer that what I'm about to say is absolutely not directed towards anyone in particular, it is just something I saw a lot of times)

This is something I've noticed a while ago but never really dared to talk about this. But while the milgram fandom has been known to have a lot of cases where they would woobify characters or victimize them to make them more sympathetic. There's also this other side of the spectrum that I don't see anyone mentioned where people feel the need to have the characters be completely and utterly terrible people simply because a part of us tend to find these more palatable.

If this sounds like this is about Muu. It is not. Ironically, the reason Muu had so much hate is because of the way she herself was very much victimized at first, only to have "betrayed" her audience once her crying had stopped and became more comfortable to be who she truly was.

An exemple would be how there's this theory that the reason Yuno got into milgram wasn't because of abortion but because killed a man. While I don't have anything against the theory itself... I can't help but think that origins and reasons for why a lot of people choose to believe it is.... very strange. To me, it seems the reason this theory feels more like a cope out for people who simply hate the idea that her crime is just simply abortion. As if abortion is what makes her character less intresting. And I just find it so weird.

Another exemple of this is Mikoto. Mikoto went from this extremely popular character with so many theories to just "oh yeah he exist" and it sounds like I'm exagerating considering how he is still one of the most beloved characters in the series with an absurd amount of fanart but... when it comes to analysis it's just... good lord

It seemed like the moment Mikoto was confirmed to be a system, the interest for him amongst theorists just dropped dead. Back then, when we weren't too sure if he had DID or not, Mikoto was extremely popular character amongst theorists because of how cryptic his case and character were. Yet when he got confirmed to be a system, people completely gave up on him and really just chose to boil down his character to "shitty did murder trope" and never pushed far beyound (in fact, even before milgram confirmed it, people were still very against the theory that he was in fact a system, never mind how a lot of the people that pushed the theory were also system themselves). They ended up his case "boring" because he turned out to be just ""the good one"" who is being wrongfully blamed and then claimed that the only way he would be interesting is to ngl this is genuinely frustrating to watch. Especially when these are the same people who say they prefer John way more yet fail to even make analysis on him as well. It's almost like Mikoto had the opposite situation as Muu's were while Muu became more hated for not being as innocent as she was protrayed in her mv, in Mikoto's case case he became less loved because he turned out to be a lot more sympathetic then he was in his mv.

This is coming from someone who actually do believe Mikoto was the true murderer here and not John. Mikoto has never been "more boring". A lot of previous analysis of his character from t1 are still very much applicable to this day. He is still the man broken by Japanese collectivism. He is still very much the guy who feel like he needs to fit in to the point of breaking. Still the guy who was very dishonest about his true feelings. What y'all can't stand is that he is also not that oh so much more "intresting" silly funny guy who goes "hehe what do you mean a murderer you're so cruel warden-kun you wouldn't want too piss me off do you cause I could beat you with this bat! Not that I would actually do anything like that lololol *threatnening glare*", and never has been.

I first fell in love with Jimin because of his voice.

I was looking through BTS' songs and came across Serendipity. I've mentioned that I was in love with that word and concept for years so I was amused when I saw it.

I went straight to it and found the nectar of the gods.

Ignored every other song for weeks because that's how you fuction sometimes. You gotta give your brain what it needs.

I didn't even look at the mv, though. Just heard the song and I was in love with him.

All it took was one time.

I didn't even have his face memorized lol I didn't know which one was Jimin.

I really came to BTS because I needed music. I have a post that I want to share about this but it's been sitting in my drafts forever. It's a bit personal. But I just needed music, basically.

Anyway.

I first saw him in carpool karaoke and thought he was interesting and funny. But I didn't really focus on the fact that he was Jimin.

And then I started watching Run BTS episodes. I loved how smart he was and how all the episodes gravitated around him... just like my life was starting to.

But...I didn't want to like him because I had seen some tkkr edits where it showed Tae and Jk were a thing and I felt that Jimin and Jk were a thing and I felt bad.

But Jimin was so likeable and Jk was always around Jimin following him...too bad for the other guy, I thought. It's not Jimin's fault lololol

I started watching concert footage and was amazed. His dancing was captivating. His stage presence.

And what completely convinced me he was IT was this:

THE BOY JUMPED AN INVISIBLE BOX.

This is how I knew lol It was something so insignificant compared to everything he has done but somehow that won me over lol

I was never able to come up for breath again.

I've been in the Jimin bubble since then. And I will stay here forever.

Assigning 25ji commissioned songs to Katie McGrath characters

Is this a shitpost? We’ll never know I guess.

1. Lena - Tricologe and kanadetomosusora

None of the commissioned songs really fit her, but the vibes on this one are nice. I suppose since the event is a kanade focus and as we know a huge part of her character is a sense of penance, she needs to save people through her music to make up for hurting her father. This is kind of how lena feels this obligation to her family name, to make up for lex’s crimes. The song alludes to things like being a “prisoner of life” and the section that is the singer being drawn to a glittering masquerade, but is pulled back (in the original mv). I think this can very abstractly being tied to Lena’s desire to express herself and put herself out there (#3Epilled) but being unable to make her vulnerable, shackled by her betrayals in life. This song can also apply to morgana in a similar fashion but I already have 3 songs chosen for her (and it doesn’t fit as well)

Kanadetomosora because the song revolves around reaching for something more and a lot of the imagery in the mv is the characters looking out windows and kanade reaching for the sky, the last few lyrics filled are filled with hope as something finally resonates (tie back to the event as kanade makes Mafuyu smile with her song),,, hmm Lena’s desire to trust another but feeling shackled by her past and her eventual growing closeness to Kara

Idsmile is more supercorp, of which I wrote an explanation for months ago. Basically just another addition to why supergirl is hella queer-coded, if Kara can tell her secret to Lena and still stay connected or if she could live in this world hiding a part of herself away from Lena, continuing the status quo. Also thinking abt how there’s a lyric that goes “the boundaries begin to blur” and there’s an episode in supergirl called “blurred lines” funny coincidence (and Kara says that one line “for a friend like you, there are no boundaries” which just reminds me of mizuena sm)

2. Morgana - Bug, saisei and nomad

ironically Mafuyu and morgana r incredibly different characters , secretly all the 25ji characters r just the Merlin core 4 send tweet /hj (Gwen is kanade, Merlin is mizuki, Arthur is Mafuyu, morgana is ena)

I like the duality of the song choices. Bug is mainly for its vibe and the sort of chaotic melody it has, the lyrics being a jumbled mess of repeating words. I think it kind of embodies morgana’s later season desperation and descent into despair. morgana’s entire arc is the sunk cost fallacy, lololol, she’s gone too fair, sacrificed too much for nothing in the end, but she can never truly let go can she? It’s also the most aggressive/forceful of all 25ji songs and it fits morgana being the sx4 triple reactive limbic mf we all know and love Also bug is a banger

NOW FOR SAISEI, I will never get over this one

IT HAS SO MUCH YEARNING AND WONDERING HOW THINGS WENT WRONG AND THE FACT THAT THERES A LYRIC THAT IS “IF THIS WAS JUST A SHALLOW NIGHTMARE, I COULD FORGIVE EVERYTHING” screaming crying throwing up, like I know morgana doesn’t really do this in canon and is like “lol everyone turned on me I’m right” BUT IT FITS MY VISION SO WELL. like the fact she lives her life with monotony, in which her life is reduced to seeking out revenge on Arthur (which I truly believe is psychological displacement) and to defeat emyrs, and also because the writers forgot to develop her character and she became one dimensional lol. The lyrics about wanting to return to long long ago and asking oneself “was it fine like this” scream morgwen and my belief that morgana enchanted Gwen also to have this companionship back, Gwen is a void no one else and nothing else could fill. Please see my vision.

Forgot to write a nomad explanation but it hinges on my headcanons for morgana that basically rewrite her to be 3V, just me thinking abt that line in that dream in s4 where Merlin asks “is this really what you wanted morgana?” I HATE THAT THEY GAVE US THAT IDEA AND NEVER ADDRESSED IT AGAIN??? Song fits bc yearning there, good enough (nomad makes me so emotional it’s such an underrated song it makes me so upset </3)

3. Lucy - Kimi no Yoruwo Kure

just read the lyrics oh my god, it’s also a really sweet mellow song so I think it fits her vibes, like at least in her vulnerable soft moments. WHY IS ALL OF KATIE MCGRATH’S CHARACTERS SO MIZUKI CODED. I think idsmile, lower, and kimi no yoruwo kure all have really really similar themes but the difference in how they go about it. Idsmile is more about hiding ones identity and a yearning for things staying the sam, lower reads as more of fight for staying together, being on the edge of telling; makes sense cause it’s a mizuena event and with ena swearing to stay by mizuki’s side until they can tell their secret. Kimi no yoruwo kure’s lyrics at least, seem like a gentle resignation, it has very Lofi sleepy vibes, a yearning for a “today” that won’t disappear. Which idk is more Lucy than any other character based on their vibes/ temperaments alone.

4. Sarah - Composing the future

haha emo song but the song puts a lot of focus on the past and being unable to move on from it. Nothing else I don’t really remember that much from slasher but yeah,,, I just needed to put smth

5. Saskia- Keitai Renwa and Lower

yes I had to pull out the mizuena songs for this, like come one the whole theme of being unable to admit one’s own feelings and unrequited love? come on (yes this applies to like 4/5 characters here but these just have Saskia vibes, and it’s a huge focus of her character). Keitai renwa also has lyrics that feel like they’re counting down to something?? Totally not olivia’s impending marriage/engagement,,, lower and keitai renwa both have more of a forceful fight for love and yearning than some of the other songs here, #saskiapilled

Lower honestly reminds me of morgwen too, which is my fav ship ever and i even made an art piece that had lyrics and one of them was from lower </3

If you stay here with me: this is morgana's line, Gwen is the only person from Camelot she was willing to make some kind of peace with and trust, she so deeply desires staying with Gwen, they genuinely cared for each other so dearly and much of what morgana did is in some way motivated by Gwen (like the episode to kill the king)

if I could just keep you from leaving: but in Gwen point of view all she sees is morgana's turn to evil as a departure from their friendship (thus the leaving line) , she doesn't know how to help her but I believe she wanted to try and save her

Morgana views her action of offering Gwen mercy as "staying here" while Gwen sees morgana's turn as "leaving" this resulting in an insurmountable difference as they are pulled apart from each other, unable to connect again

Okay dumb bish moment. I really thought they had a name for the cat in the Shibarisa date and I was desperate in finding its name. I thought it was "fuku" since in the samishigariya mv, the first time I heard it, I thought Shibaken was telling Aizou he's going to borrow the cat and in the mv, the moment after that, the cat jumped to Shibaken and it sounds like Aizou said the cat has already gone to you (to Shibaken).

And then, looking at the kanji lyrics, it turns out Shibaken was saying that he's going to borrow Aizou's clothes or at least his jacket and Aizou said he's already wearing it. HAHAHAHAHA I really thought I had a eureka moment for finding the cat's name even though it was nonexistent. Also, I just recently learned the kanji for clothes so really dumb for me not to notice.

Enough with the dumb moment. The most important part I wanted to share was SHIBAKEN WORE AIZOU'S CLOTHES FOR HIS DATE WITH ARISA. Ain't that cute? Looks like Shibaken has a lot of hoodies and since Aizou's an idol, he ought to have more fashionable clothes. Also funny that even though they have a bit of a ragged relationship, Shibaken still asks permission to use his lil bro's clothes and like Aizou accepts or like just lets him because he's already wearing them lololol. More shibasaki bros shenanigans pls. 

Anyways, bottomline is I've been playing samishigariya mv since its release and I'm still trying to find all the little details I can extract. Love u haniwa.

1. Waste It on Me by BTS | This is one of the most basic and mainstream—not to mention Western-sounding, albeit understandably—pop songs they’ve ever done, but for some odd reason, I can’t stop listening to it :’33

2. Your Side of the Bed (Steve Reece Remix) by Loote | I actually found this because of Eric Nam, not Jungkook lol.

3. POP/STARS by K/DA (Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE, Jaira Burns) for League of Legends | All of my gamer friends who know I’m into K-pop sent me this, leoool. Honestly?? I think it’s a great. An unusual collab, for sure, but it works. The song’s really catchy, the mv’s fun to watch, and the G-IDLE girls really killed it (both in the mv and live). I can’t stop listening to it; it’s been on repeat since it came out. IMO, BEST K-POP SONG OF THE YEAR DON’T @ ME LOLOLOL

4. Every Night by J.Flood | IDK if you've heard of him, but I’ve been listening to a guy called Theo Von on his podcast entitled This Past Weekend. He’s a semi-famous comedian whom I think is pretty genuine and naturally funny. His podcast has been really motivating, thoughtful, and encouraging to me recently (and giving me a reason to look forward to Mondays! :D :D). Anyways, this song was featured as one of the long-running theme songs on his podcast. I basically fell in love with the opening melody; it got stuck in my head and I haven’t been able to stop listening since!

5. Semi-Charmed Life by Dance Gavin Dance | It’s a cover, but I love it!!

6. Addicted by THE WLDLFE | Been listening to this song for a good couple of months now, and keep coming back to it. Guess I’m “addicted” to it, haha :’pp The album’s also great (solid 8/10), and I’d definitely recommend listening to it if you’re into “basic-sounding” indie pop/rock. Other faves are Notch, Dream, Pt. II, Towel, and I Don’t Mind. 

7. Appalachian Wine by eleventyseven | Got into this because they recently released the remixed version of this song along with a handful of other B-sides for their latest album Rad Science, which was also really good. Other faves off of the B-sides album are Wish Myself Away (Acoustic) and Prosperica.

8. I am YOU (Instrumental) by SireneAudio (Stray Kids) | I really hope JYP releases the official instrumental because I WOULD KILL FOR THIS INSTRUMENTAL IT’S SO GOOD!!!!!! 💖😩👌

9. I Never Told You by Colbie Caillat | I never liked this song when it came out (even though I adore “Bubbly”), but for some reason it kinda clicked with me recently, and this past October I had a brief Colbie Caillat phase ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

10. Treasure by ATEEZ | I’ve actually been really out of K-pop lately and haven’t been keeping up with new releases that closely. I’ve listened to this and had it on repeat a few times, though; I like the build-up to the chorus.

Yamagishi Riko-chan does the MC, And the performance became

In the second performance, I was really observing

The way everyone was cheering for us!

The chants during the songs were funny! But, I think that this is how We create a concert with everyone
