Enemies to lovers vibes but it's Dick and Roy having a petty rivalry over Jason. This somehow blossoms into the most profound camaraderie — just two bros that develop a deep, unfaltering companionship based entirely on a collaborative effort to make Jason blush.

Poor Jason doesn't stand a chance.

Because of how relentless and objectively bad the flirting is 90% of the time, Jason is convinced they're both fucking with him. That they'd very much like to fuck him isn't a thought that crosses Jason's mind.

It still stands that Jason is down to play this weird game Dick and Roy have going though. Even if it's largely at Jason's expense, it's sort of nice? The banter and teasing and companionship.

So Jason acts exasperated and huffy at Dick and Roy's provocations, but deep down? Jason's really content.

And it's at this point that Dick and Roy have the tables turned on them because Jason goes from prickly and grumpy to mask how he flustered to all of a sudden flushing pretty and sometimes smirking or huffing out the softest laugh.

Maybe it was a bit of a game before. Or rather, something that Dick and Roy weren't serious serious over. But then Jason gets all soft and fond and affectionate in that gruff way of his and that's it - these guys are done for.

Other thoughts:

Dick and Roy being so ornery with each other whenever they're with Jason individually (especially in the 'rival' stage, or the pre-collaborative effort times). Just these two dorks sending each other pics of Jason sat across from them while they're on a date or holding hands or making out, etc etc.

And Jason becomes so immune to the ridiculousness of it that he starts posing with the most deadpan of expressions

Lest he's blushing - then it's full flustered maiden and trying to block out the camera

Also, something with Dick and Roy being genuinely distraught when they come to realize their feelings err on the side of love. Because they all have a great thing going and falling in love with Jason (as opposed to enjoying the flirts) sort of fucks that up.

Dick and Roy recognizing each other's feelings, too. So they both try to back off for the sake of the other, not realizing that they're a thruple and the feelings go all ways and they don't work otherwise until Jason goes ( • ᴖ • ｡) and then the 2 goes to flirt at the 1 and they go back to their trio ways and it's lovely.

touya-nii: genuinely depends on why you’re laughing, but 9 times out of 10 it’s for a playful reason, and he’ll play along with you, teasing you in good nature with condescending coos and syrupy words (+ touya also chuckles a bit during sex fairly often so!). the only time where he’d get genuinely annoyed/upset with it would be either 1. your laughing is mocking or rude or in any way disrespectful in his eyes, or 2. you’re laughing during a punishment where you’re intended to be quite serious. at that point he is yanking your head back and growling you wanna laugh? i’ll give you something to fucking laugh about, sweetheart—and then you’ve earned yourself some severe pain in exchange for a few giggles >.<

bmb dabi: bmb dabi is 100% giggling along with you. your giggles are so contagious he just can’t help it, fizzy laughs bubbling from one throat into the other, pushed from and shoved onto tongues, sandwiched between the slick muscles and massaged into flesh. it doesn’t really matter why you’re laughing; he’s just glad you’re having a good time, which in turn means he’s having a good time. your amusement and fun is palpable, it instantly infects him and makes the experience that much more memorable <3

tag dabi: tag dabi fucks you even harder if you start giggling. he isn’t doing it out of anger, frustration, offence, or malice—in fact, he is also laughing, too; breathy little chuckles huffed out between the smack of his hips against your ass and the teasing words oozing from his lips. think something’s funny, do ya? he’s asking, but you can hear the smile in his voice, question infused with mirth. it doesn’t matter what your answer is, because his response will be the same no matter what your reason for laughing is: if you can laugh, Daddy must not be fucking you hard enough <3

Just some additional lil fun facts/ramblings about Nova that I figured might be an interesting read ^^

+ Nova's name refers to both supernovas (which I think are super cool and am totally projecting my interest onto him) & 80's bossa nova music (very vibey and also gave inspiration for their color palette)

+ Crippling energy drink addiction /lh

+ Likes bugs, particularly moths (death's-head and poodle moths are very cool) & salamanders (their coloration).

+ Places stickers/decals all over themselves and their stuff. The shiny heart and wavey-line details on their shell?? Vinyl decals they made. They only have a few spots on their shell naturally (as natural as a mutant bog turtle is lmao) and thought it was too boring, so they "fixed" it.

+ Draws but only digitally; hates the mess/stickiness of traditional art (chalk pastels are the DEVIL; he's just like me,,,, he's just like me FR 😭🖐️)

+ HUGE seafood fan: will go rabid over a plate of shrimp alfredo; also really enjoys noodles in any form.

+ Hates hot tea but really enjoys a good iced tea.

+ Special interest in astronomy

+ OBNOXIOUS music taste (based off of mine lmao): mainly hyperpop-esque EDM or emo music, but as the design implies, also enjoys some bossa nova music when the mood hits.

+ If he's not wearing his mask, they're very partial to beanies (likes to have something on their face/head at all times)

+ This mf autistic as hell /pos (he's just like me fr x2)

+ Generally seems very laid-back and calm. He's just kinda there for the vibes. BUT they are a massive enabler for chaos--they may not be coming up with the plan, but they Will assist the cause to see what happens. He Can and Will lie with a straight face to help said chaos goblin out. He likes the drama 🤷

And THIS, is a bog turtle! I obviously changed coloration to have more fun with it (and didn't go with yellow markings cuz it resembled Mikey too much), but I kept them in mind:

They're actually pretty similar in size and general build to little box turtles, so I went with Mikey's general body shape when designing Nova. :)

the whole thing with the author defending (?) tom the wife beater is so repulsive, and then you read it again and i don’t think bumble is mentioned ONCE. she scrounges for sympathy with turtle tail, but the other one? the fat, useless, other one? forget her! (this is negative towards the authors, i adore the better bones stuff, esp how bumble is treated. vote bumble :) )

I really cannot get over it... to angrily write out a whole screed on how the strongest punishment is regret and not consequence, compare the sentiment of a reader that "Tom didn't deserve heaven" to his physical abuse of Turtle Tail, and then not even mention his other crimes of kidnapping and torture.

Even in death, Bumble isn't important enough to mention. As the books continue, they even continue to only mention her death as an unfortunate accident, or evidence of why kittypets can't join Clans. Even though she was MURDERED.

I think the statement is a good exercise in the difference between a post advocating rehabilitative justice, and abuse apologia just dressed up as it.

There IS a point to be made about how the idea of a Hell/Prison just makes bad people worse. We often have a desire to punish, because we FEEL better getting catharsis seeing A Bad Guy suffer like they hurt others. But that alone doesn't really fix or address a problem.

For example, it's really common to feel that kind of revulsion at a drug addict who robs a convenience store for money. Does it actually reduce addiction rates, or undo the trauma of the assaulted cashier, or help prevent it from ever happening again to throw the robber in a broken prison where they come out, 7 years later, with no rehabilitation?

The answer is no. It didn't help anyone. 7 years pass and he's still addicted to substances, possibly even worse, because prison just made his life shittier. As a leftist we can recognize that compassion is usually the answer.

(Unless, of course... someone needs to be removed from a position of power or actively prevented from attacking others. Violence is the answer sometimes.)

But the thing is, the author didn't SAY that. What they did was compare the impulse for catharsis, to TOM'S DESIRE TO BEAT HIS WIFE.

NO, those are NOT the same thing. Your desire for comeuppance towards a wifebeater character getting a redemption reward for "saving his child" after a long life of cruelty without consequences, is NOT THE SAME as Tom the Wifebeater inflicting pain and suffering on people out of spite.

She had to phrase it in the worst possible way for this argument to even LOOK like it made sense. "She broke HIS rule of Don't Be Mean To Tom" vs "He broke YOUR rule of Don't Be Mean To Turtle Tail." And "Now he's being taught how to be lovely"

Physical abuse, emotional abuse, and kidnapping are not "being mean" and it's both sick and insightful that she'd call it that

Domestic abuse is not a "failure to be lovely," it's the act of harming your family or partner to control them.

Tom the Wifebeater is a character who was not written with a scrap of nuance. He is not a real person. All they did with him was consistently show how much pleasure hurting people gives him, then say him dying for his biokid absolved everything

So in this series where you establish there are Born Evil Truly Malicious people (ONE EYE IS IN THE SAME BOOK), but then turn around to cry that Tom the Wifebeater can be made lovely off-screen...

You end up saying that domestic abuse isn't in your arbitrary "evil" category.

And that's so fucking fitting for the arc of Clear Sky's "redemption," where the same book ends off on Thunder saying that his abusive, woman-killing dad wasn't so bad all along because he's not like One Eye.

The answer's just that simple. They don't think male abuse is all that terrible because it's the same as an impulse; explicitly not malice. So it doesn't make you "evil," and only "evil" people deserve the Dark Forest.

(Dont question the Dark Forest as a concept or how starclan defines evil though :x dont worry about it :x)

if it's before, jake would probably be kind of annoyed (and perhaps even a little insulted) to be reduced to a literal bag boy--though, he can't lie, the bonus her daddy gave him is more than generous enough for him to swallow his pride for one afternoon. she's polite enough to him initially, thanking him for holding doors for her and apologizing to him when she just wants to try on just a few more dresses.

but then she meets up with some friends.

he can see them from where he stands at the front of the store, his arms laden with shopping bags. she and her friends are looking at him, not at all trying to hide that fact as they're whispering and giggling about him like school girls. jake is torn between being annoyed and amused (but mostly he just wishes he could have a cigarette). her friends spend the rest of the day shamelessly flirting with him (one even tries to get his phone number) and he thinks he must've imagined the spark of jealousy in your eyes.

if they're already together? well...she'd obviously spend the day torturing him. instead of making him wait at the front for her, she tells him she needs him in the dressing rooms. she makes him sit in the waiting area and models every single outfit for him. there's one particular dress, one with a slit that goes up your thigh that leaves little to the imagination, that he almost begs you to buy, if only so he can peel it off of you at some point in the near future.

the smirk on her face as she buys it tells him how obvious his desire was.

he's about to take her home (maybe practice getting her out of that dress) when she asks him to make just one more stop. he does as asked, of course, and he drives to the store. he doesn't think anything of it until he walks in with her and sees it....all the lingerie.

he practically swallows his tongue when she asks him to accompany her to the dressing rooms.

it's the end of the day and the store is (blessedly) empty so they have the dressing room to themselves. just as jake is giving himself a pep talk, telling himself he can do this, that he can control himself, that he will not fuck her in the middle of this high-end boutique, she walks out of the dressing room in the most beautiful set of lace and silk scraps he's ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on.

he wants to rip them off her with his teeth.

in the end, he does end up fucking her in the middle of this high-end boutique, his hand over her mouth muffling her cries of pleasure as he pounds into her over and over.

as she comes around him, her pleasure dragging him over the edge too, jake has the thought that maybe being a bag boy isn't actually as bad as he'd thought it'd be. 😇🤭
