I have a theory about why Ivu isn't as popular as he deserves to be

You probably already know this but Ivu has already left the utaite scene once a while back. I don't remember the reason, I just know he basically lost all his prior following and disappeared for a few years. A thing with Japanese fans (generalised) is that they can be completely and absolutely devoted to their oshi/whatever else they love but they can also be very ruthless and they hold grudges, like, a lot. I think that when people saw Ivu came back many of his older fans have already left with no intention of ever returning. Maybe they felt betrayed or something, it also might come down to the reason he left in the first place.

Anyway, Ivu bacisally had to build his fanbase again from scratch and at that time the utaite boom has already started slowly dying down. They were still popular but the hype just wasn't there anymore and it was difficult to stay relevant. Nowadays even the biggest utaite aren't getting nearly as many views on their covers as they used to a few years ago and new ones don't really tend to make it big if they're not a part of a vtuber company.

So yeah, I think it's a mixture of bad timing and the nature of changing trends. Bro just got unlucky but hey, he keeps uploading!! And we can treasure him as kind of a hidden gem

they're sooo t-birds coded to me 🧍 not the greaser part,, like the way they interact with each other

they all bicker a lot but it's all in good fun !!

there's a fair amount of name-calling, but again it's not in a malicious way !! even if everyone's go-to thing for chet is calling him a drunk 🧍

when it comes to teasing each other, they're very good at avoiding mentioning anything that's considered "out of bounds" (like chet's home life, the girls, or paul's dad)

soc boy study group you will always be famous to me 🙏

they trust each other wholeheartedly (unless bob or paul are drunk bc they can get a lil mean when they're emotional)

i've posted a lot about chet & brill being besties, and paul & bob are besties, but that does NOT mean trip is left behind !!! there being two pairs of best friends does not mean trip isn't close with them ! trip's equally close with everyone, but he's probably closer with the girls thanks to all the time he spends with marcia 🫶

brill's the only one with like a proper open door policy (trip's parents are strict, and it depends on bob and paul's parents), so the brillsteins' usually has at least 2 other socs showing up throughout the day

but idk how much of the dol lore i’ve shared on tumblr, mostly because i feel like i don’t talk about dol as much on here? so i guess here’s a bit of a dol lore dump if you must!!! and just some other stuff about the fic too!

but forgive me if i have LOL but for those of y’all that maybe don’t follow me on twitter, dol was actually inspired by something that happened to me!

i mention it in the first chapter of the fic, but the whole package scenario actually happened to me with my neighbor! i used to actually kind of have a tiny crush on my neighbor (nothing crazy i just thought he was cute lol) and my package got delivered to him!! but he lived directly across from me lol so i didn’t bother knocking or letting him know when i got my package but he saw me on the ring and then came knocking on my door a few hours later asking about the package lmfao 😭 it was super awkward in my case bc my dad answered the door and i had just gotten out the shower and i looked so bad LOL it was very embarrassing and i avoided him until he moved out a month later lolbut yea i like to think of it as a little butterfly effect in my life! bc it brought me to the fandom and stuff! so dol is really special to me in that aspect, i turned an embarrassing moment in my life into something special haha

and then in actual dol, hitch annie and sasha are really a big combination of all of my female besties (i have several lol), but i have a friend group of four, and their dynamic reminds me a lot of the of the four of us!! there’s so many convos and tidbits of their friendship lore, i’ve kinda stolen from my friends and i and our stupid escapades 😭 if you read the one shot i did of mikasa’s college days, there’s a few little tidbits that are actually just about me i slipped in! i really love writing their scenes bc i think about my friends and our friendship and what they mean to me! one of my fav scenes i have planned is from a really pivotal moment i think of often between one of my friends and i!

this is me actually really exposing the fuck out of myself too LOL but for eren’s character too, i’ve honestly put some traits of all my past romantic conquests 💀 i won’t say much more than that but yea LOL

and i’ve also expressed my experiences with grief a lot while writing dol too! my own personal experiences and just in the last few years seeing how those around me have handled it as well!

i think that’s why i just love dol so much bc it’s like little pieces of my life broken into the story, i like to say dol is a love letter to those around me and the people i love! it’s from the heart truly lol it’s not perfect but the love really is there and dol at its core (or at least i hope it’s being conveyed) is about love!!! platonic familial and romantic!! but that’ll make more sense later i think haha

but i am also obsessed with all the ackerman relationships!! i’m obsessed w kenuri too!!! i think they’re all peak tbh isayama went off w them he cooked i fear. BUT THANKS SM ABOUT THE ERURI 😭🤍 YOURE TOO KIND ANON! in glad i have a shooter!!! maybe i will write a little drabble about it bc dol eruri is kinda peak to me they make me emo i won’t lie 😭🩵

do you mean as in the smcu episodes or just the smcu in general? because if you mean IN GENERAL, well that's the plot of the story 😭

basically, as it was explained in this resident's archives, olympia debuts groups as part of a story that links them all together, and that's what made them a relevant company, since they started a trend of giving weight to concepts and stories. everyone has their own lore, but they're in the same scenario and timeline, and groups even meet sometimes at certain events (like elysian and voyager winning the war together).

they have content specifically about the olympia narrative universe where they explain things more clearly, but not quite as explicitly as the smcu episodes, a little more cryptically. what was explained in the RA just now is what's canon. although there's fan theories, of course.

Oh about the gender, they are a female-only species. Like the Vidyadhara, they can't reproduce but only reincarnate. Long the permanence created the mermaids to remind themself of the good old days, so the ability to reproduce wasn't given to them because they don't want the bloodline of the sea spirit to get lost as time flies. Long enjoyed looking at them who inherited their "mother's" features and hearing their singing abilities.

Good news is that mermaids won't go extinct because of Long's eternity blessing and the sea spirit's blood even reached the deep, unknown parts of the sea. So there are still mermaid stones that will turn into mermaids in the future. 🧠

Hm...it depends on what you're in the mood for! I'm always either in the mood for something messy to perk my spirits or a rom com type book. I really enjoyed Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman. And while I haven't finished the next two, I can tell they're going to be faves of mine: Seven Days in June by Tia Williams and The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun (this last one reminds me of that reality tv show Steve fic I wrote ☠️)

I think the last book I read to completion was Twisted Hate by Ana Huang. I liked a good portion of it (the main man was my guy! I love Josh 🥹) but DAMN if her plots aren't melodramatic. It doesn't matter the book, there's always this third act that is too grand for the story and I can't get behind it. I've started the fourth book in the series, though, and this one seems like the strongest imo
