Critical review high road japanese deluxe by Kesha 🍜🐪

High Road really defined the pre-pandemic January and February for me, it's such a great album. Some people say it's a combination of the party Ke$ha and the vulnerable Kesha of Rainbow but.... The Harold Song, Blind, Hungover, Last Goodbye, Boogie Feet, Let 'Em Talk and many other songs show that she has been able to do it all along. I think what makes this album truly special is the fact that more or less, it's the first time she has been allowed to truly let loose in her music. Sure, she's had a lot of her whimsical moments in her first three albums (which I adore) but she's either had something to prove or had to answer to him.

High Road is an absolute mess in the best way. Tonight is a stellar opening track, and a stellar song in general. My Own Dance is a bit weak and I'd relegate it to a deluxe track but I do appreciate what it stands for. Raising Hell was panned by fans upon release and I never got why, it's literally so good, taking Hymn (a song that changed my life)'s theme and tackling it with a delightful devil-may-care attitude that really works for me. Also the MV is AMAZING.

The title track is one of her best songs ever, easily. Truly the best possible representation of the album and her in general: self-indulgent, messy, loud, in your face, fiercely individualistic, more willing to flip you off and drive away than fight. I really relate to it.

Shadow is a fine song, the message is nice but I do think it's a bit of a waste of a track. Could be a bonus track.

Honey was my fave on my first listens and is still in my top 3. I don't think I can say anything that can do it justice so i'll just say GOOGLE ME BITCH!

Cowboy Blues is her ending Taylor Swift at her own game on her first try. DID I FUCK MY WHOOOOOLE LIFEEE UP

Resentment is a gorgeous song, Little Bit Of Love is so euphoric, I really love belting it, especially liking the whole.... delivery, her being drunk/sad in the verses and then BELTING the chorus, LOVE IT.

Kinky is amazing although the intro is a biiit unnecessary KINDA SWEET STUFF KINDA FREAKY BITTY SHIT YOU CAN TRUST ME I CAN BE A KINKY BITCH SAY YOU CAN'T TURN A HOE INTO A HOUSEWIFE WELL WHO WANTS A HOUSEWIFE WHO AIN'T A HOE SOMETIMES? BFF is amazing, Father Daughter Dance is devastating, Chasing Thunder makes me feel free and Summer is just euphoric.

Haven't listened to Big Bad Wolf much, it's reminding me of something that would be on Cannibal, it's nice but it really is a bonus track.

Amazing if a little flawed, High Road is probably my album of the year along with Dedicated Side B and Manic.

Hi um I’ve seen people use categories to describe Maxiel situations and I was wondering what they are and what they mean???

Ooh so I guess the categories are subjective. But personally, I consider:

Cat 1-3 - regular maxiel interactions. Chattering in the paddock, yapping in the drivers parade. Normal attached at the hip behaviours.

Cat 4 - regular maxiel interactions including a little extra affection. Like a hug, or as our lovely bestie @/arturleclerc-archive captured; a hand on the lower back guiding through the crowd.

Cat 5 - whatever the fuck we call last year when Daniel is doing interviews and the camera panned out to show Max just hovering.

Cat 6 - Anything in print/an article/reported that feels like someone wrote it in a fanfiction

Cat 7 - Anything on video that feels like someone wrote it in a fanfiction

(them making eyes at each other in media press conference/Daniel jumping into Max's paddock appearance)

Cat 8 and up - Helicopter Video post Spa, Goodwood cuddles. If you need to be sedated afterwards, it's probably a cat 8.

to start i’ll like people here, another time i was asked a similar question. so i don’t repeat those things.

firstly, yes. i do think they were together. from some point in their adventure, long before they killed the god, and up until telaine broke the pact. part of the reason why it killed melora when telaine betrayed the promise was because melora thought their love was strong enough to prevent telaine from making that choice. part of the reason why it killed telaine to be trapped in the demiplane by melora was because she thought their love was strong enough for melora to not punish her for breaking the pact.

it’s worse and sadder, i think, if aryox gave up his piece of the heart before his death. (i wrote a fic based on the idea). and his giving it up was an act of love. he was, of course, the original worshipper of melora, the goddess of nature. because he had long been a worshiper of melora, the spring eladrin.

telaine and aryox fought, often. they loved to clash, and huge emotions were how they expressed their love. but they made sure to never get melora stuck in the middle if they could avoid it. because she didn’t deserve that.

meloras love is soft, all encompassing, when it comes to the two of them. like a blanket when there’s a slight chill. like a soft breeze on a spring day. telaine and aryox had loud love, always, but softened when it came to her. and her love softened them. (which is why telaine was so fiery and furious when the boobs met her).

the pact was melora’s idea. she wanted the world to be protected. she hated that it hadn’t protected her, or her friends. so she made sure they became a force of protection for the realm. aryox and telaine, in turn, protected her. from the ways she let being unable to protect the world hurt her. and her priority, always, was to protect them.

aryox knew, when the pact was made, that he would break it. that telaine would break it. he always had that sort of ability, to see the future in snippets. he didn’t tell them. he loved them enough to hope he was wrong, just this once. and when he wasn’t, about telaine, he knew the choice was clear. giving melora his piece of the heart would always be his punishment, from that day he knew the pact had to be broken.

melora’s anger, the kind that mirrored in many of her followers, manifested (manifests) in storms. there were weeks of blizzards when aryox was killed in the frigid north. when her fiercest followers died, people she wanted to protect but couldn’t intervene on, it would rain for days, or wind would whip through the trees at colossal speeds, whatever felt appropriate. when mount forge fell, the protected tomb of her dearest friend, the man she loved, the whole world felt it ripple. the storms weren’t nearly as bad as the cataclysm that came later, but the cataclysm was not the first time all of bahumia felt a godly stormy wrath that summer.

2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said "fuck your plan, here's what we're actually doing"

this actually happened a few months ago with AR and i had to completely rework my outline LOL it was rhea and aidan who insisted on being added to the story and that changed some stuff, to the point where i was like ok i'll scrap everything i outlined after chapter 4... so what i've been posting is actually quite a bit different from the original outline!

but the most recent example of this i can think of is i just can't get enough of you because it was originally just going to be just a quick blowie and a facial but somebody (cough cough xaden) decided he wanted to reciprocate and i was like well buddy, this is the perfect time for the face-sitting idea i had a few months ago!

10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?

i actually tend to come up with titles pretty early on! a lot of my ideas come from specific lyric in songs, or situations where i already associate a lyric with said situation, and i usually use that when i'm titling the doc, or later when i'm getting ready to post. i find it kind of easy because i enjoy listening to music and the process of finding the perfect lyric is pretty fun for me. AR was kind of the exception to this in that it took me some brainstorming to get the title.

13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you

i say this a lot, but getting positive feedback always surprises me LOL. also how much fun it can be to write!! it can definitely be frustrating, but the days when i make myself laugh or freak out over a line i wrote are the best. and the people i've met doing this are also another pleasant surprise 💗

first of all im kicking myself bc i read a tumblr post or fic or SOMETHING online somewhere before that inspired a small bit of how i imagine tommy would propose, and now i can’t find it??? so if this*** sounds familiar it’s definitely based on something i’m just blanking on what it is and will give full credit to op or whatever fucking thing im forgetting. this is also partly based off of how my dad and my mom became official

similar to jake and amy, i imagine them having a really goofy and sweet proposal story, like tommy has to ask maria a million times or sometimes does fake-outs like jim from the office, and maybe it’s something the entirety of jackson is invested.

im also thinking maybe maria wouldn’t want to reallyget married again, not necessarily because of her late husband but more because jackson just makes such a fuss out of weddings and she does not have time to plan that shit and she had a big wedding for her first marriage for the sake of her mother and hated it, so yeah no. she’s just maybe not big on getting married, and for the first bit of time she’s with tommy, she know he really likes her but isn’t surely thinking he wants anything serious. so for a while, maybe a year and a half to two years in, it’s just them being in love as tommy and maria, more partners than anything else to eachother, and that’s just fine with her

so imagine her surprise when one day her and tommy are eating dinner in the dining hall and one of jackson’s biggest gossips comes over and is like “y’all are just too darn cute—now tommy, when are we gonna see a ring on that finger?? it’s a shame this lady aint tied down” and tommy, cool as a fucking cucumber, just goes “oh don’t you worry, i got plans for that” because ??????????? huh????��?

she has to hold back choking on her fucking drink, she’s so taken aback. she waits until whoever that was goes on their marry fuckin way and then blinks, going “um????? you’ve got plans???” because maria is always the one with the plans. tommy hates plans. he says he loves that she loves them, but in a life an unpredictable as this, they often just get in the way; she doesn’t always disagree. but now, apparently, his plan for marriage is sure as his shooting aim, because he just smiles at her a dashingly and winks, murmuring out a smooth and flirty “yes, ma’am. i do i have plans.” for the rest of the dinner, her left leg bounces shakily under the table as he smirks as her from across the way.

because suddenly marriage doesn’t sound so bad, not when it’s marriage to her handsome cowboy goofball; the wedding she would still definitely rather just skip, but she’s sure she can convince tommy of that later. so for the rest of the night and week and month, she is on Red Alert to be proposed to, and unfortunately it just wracks her nerves

but because tommy is Tommy, he lovingly teases and fucks with her just perfectly enough to settle her mind down. he starts mixing in fake-out proposals (he does the shoe-tying one from the office while they’re hiking and watching a sunset during a romantic preproposal date two-person patrol, and she threatens to kick him off the cliff) with joking little asks for her hand in between mundane requests (hey baby, could you be a dear and marry me, then pass me the salt? im kiddin, just kiddin, i aint gonna ask like tha—what? what?? maria! come back!), also mixed with genuinely breathtaking little notes to declare how much he loves her one every few days (a note left on her dresser for her to wake up to one rare morning where tommy was up and out before her: “hey baby. just wanted to let you know how much i love you and how lucky i am to be here with you in my life. you guide me toward a greatness i never thought i could even achieve. i want to make you happy everyday. i can’t wait to call you my wife. seeya at lunch, mi vida. yours, tommy”) until eventually the pressure of being asked The Big Thing isn’t something she’s so anxious for anymore, until thinking about it just makes her smile. she’s looking forward to tommy being her husband more than anything

Aww thank you so much 🥹 it’s been a rough few days so that’s so nice to hear <3 I’ve also missed writing and posting but it’s just been a bit busy.

As for what I’ve got in the works, it’s pretty dire I’ll be honest. But I did start something today, I kept thinking about this ask and I wrote around 1k for it, it’s going good I think but we’ll see if I hate it tomorrow. There’s also the flufftober blurbs but as for anything else, I’m coming up empty :// it’s annoying because I want to write but my brain is so nnnggghhhhh these days idk, all my ideas seem meh and I’ve got to focus on my exams </3

top 5 sea creatures >:)

This is such a good question thanks so much, because this is so fun and because I live seafood I'm going to do my favourites in terms of which ones are the coolest with and which ones are the tastiest

top 5 coolest sea creatures

1.) sea slugs!! I did so many projects on them when in school when I was younger. Particularly a fan of the leaf sheep sea slug which looks like a cartoon and it can photosynthesise which is so amazing

2.) jellyfish. Big fan of how they just float around and have no brain #lifegoals. Every time I see one I am transfixed.

3.) octopi. They are clever and can change colour and can squeeze into tiny little places

4.) seals. They're so cute

5.) orcas. They're matriarchal and the way they hunt is amazing

Honourable mention to sharks, squids and sea urchins.

In terms of taste, my favourite sea creatures are

1.) eel. It sounds weird but it's amazing. If you ever go to a sushi place that does unagi, ORDER IT!! You will not regret it

2.) prawns. So tasty in batter or stir-fried rice or noodles or on their own. Versatile.

3.) scallops especially fried in garlic butter

4.) salmon. The only fish that I can eat plain because it tastes so good

5.) mussels
