I was wondering, do you ever play around in any of the worlds you've created without planning to write a story about it? Like imagining what-ifs or imagining if you were in that world? I've been really into the humans are space orcs stories lately and I have certain fantasies in those worlds I've been daydreaming for the past months. But even when I imagine a completely different backstory for them, I recently realized I usually imagine the races you described in WIBAR and YCGB and other alien fics. Still daydream of sanders sides characters a lot and now Ampen and Ulgorii just live in my brain as character concepts lol

it's hard to say that i play around without planning to write about it, because most of the time, if i roll an idea or concept for a story around in my head for long enough, i inevitably end up wanting to put it to words properly :'D but i certainly do like to imagine or daydream about my worlds so often that there's plenty that doesn't make it to my published stories

for "what-ifs" i even have a folder that's mostly a collection of spin offs/alternate POVs of some of my AUs! here's the placeholder titles of a handful of them, ranging from extreme silly to extreme angst lol

when it comes to humans are space orcs stories, i do love to play around with the setting + characters i already have (as my biggest universe, wibar has SO MANY of the aforementioned spin off/AU ideas) but i also love to come up with new alien designs + fun ways the designs can be juxtaposed with human deathworlder stuff, so i often end up branching out and making something new! i'm flattered that my designs have joined your imaginings though :D

as for lime in the wibar-verse... i've speculated on it a few times, and atm i think my wibarsona would probably be not a human, but a crav'on! spiky lime :) i have seen some very cute art/writing/speculation with other people's self inserts, mostly as humans, and i think it's so fun that others are playing in my sandbox too! ^_^

Jack winning a Cup in his rookie year was such a fizzle out of any remaining narrative tension the comic had left. The Falcs losing in the playoffs, especially if they had made it past round one would have been such a good call back to losing in the Frozen Four, and there could have been conflict that Jack (and Bitty, and their relationship) actually grew from.

Yes! Exactly! Like any narrative stakes just died.

It also highlighted how little the comic actually knew/cared about hockey. Because players making the jump from college NCAA hockey to NHL hockey often have an adjustment period. Am In supposed to believe Jack, a man who just joined the NHL at 26, and had spent a large portion of his development time not playing hockey or playing on a not very good NCAA team (because lbr Bitty getting a full ride hockey scholarship when he can't check and hadn't actually played anything beyond rec league hockey is not something that happens at a top tier hockey school -- yes, yes I get the entire premise of the comic is based on that but some realism please)? It's literally canon that Jack picked an NHL team that would give him more ice time/not send him to the AHL to develop. So the idea that the Falcs would go all the way through the playoffs just never say right with me. Teams who are making those types of deals don't tend to be top tier.

Especially with the Falcs because 1. we never actually meet the GM (George is only an Assistant GM aka she doesn't actually have power over Jack's contract/the team etc) 2. we never met the Head Coach (kinda an important role on a Cup winning team) 3. injuries, callups, and trades are a real thing the comic just ignores. Rosters change, and sometimes they can have a lot of turn over in a season. Which, sidebar, Jack coming out to his team is great and all but once he did that (a man with clinical anxiety) how was he not spiraling about anyone talking to a former teammate on another team and spilling the beans? Especially because we KNOW players gossip.

But back to your point, Jack not winning the Cup in his rookie year would have been more impactful because we then could have seen if Jack truly could handle that type of loss. If he truly had grown and understood that he was more than hockey. Because he could justify not winning the Frozen Four because it's just college, right? NCAA was never the plan so it didn't really matter. But the NHL? The big boy stage? And he can't do what his father or his (ex)boyfriend did and win the Cup? Well now, that's something to explore and chew on.

But we didn't. And then we never got any follow up on if the Falcs offered him a contract extension or not in Year 4 (which was a contract year) or how Jack felt about his team going from being the Cup winners to not even making the playoffs.

Just, forever a loss at what could have been.

I find myself pacing like a crazy person pacing up and down the halls muttering that old tumblr post, "It would be so good if it was good."

Has exposure to worm and the worm fandom altered the way you professor in a meaningful way. I can't imagine it had no impact.

Hmm, good question.

I think the impact has been far more radical in the other direction. I've spent comparatively so much more time in Worm fandom, interacting with people from the US when a little more than a year ago, I'd never set foot there. Teaching composition and literature in the US and being exposed to this small slice of Americans has kind of opened my eyes. I know it's not a representative group and most likely not exclusive to Americans and I don't want to sound too unkind... but I just feel like I understand how readers approach and engage with Worm and Wormfic a lot more now, especially that age group. Take that however you will because it would be a little mean for me to get specific...

Wed Émilie. I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to physics but I'm sure we'll still be able to have interesting conversations. The fact that her family likely owned several mansions doesn't hurt either.

And again, it's not like she ever took the sanctity of marriage all that seriously, so I'd imagine there'd still be a lot of freedom for both parties. Win-win!

That leaves me with no other option but to bed Cicero I guess. Huh. I mean, something to potentially tell grandchildren about I guess. Also a potential for the head on the rostra jokes.

if Saiki and Akechi were to play more games, what games would they play?

Oooh good question! I've had a little think about it and I think they could play a really fun game of hide-and-seek.

Unlike the time when he played it with Kusuke, Kusuo wouldn't have Kaido and Nendou around and could therefore use his powers to make it even harder for Akechi to find him. He could turn invisible, and Akechi would have to track him down, finding him through clues in true detective style. Hard to say who would win!

I feel like Akechi is also one of the few people Saiki could play something like "two truths and a lie" with, since his brain is too jumbled up to get a clear read on. I feel like Akechi would win this one, since Saiki isn't great at doing stuff when he can't use his powers, having grown so reliant on them, and Akechi is smart enough to figure out when he is lying. Saiki would be baffled as to why he was getting it right every single time, but then Akechi would point out that Saiki lowers his left eyebrow 0.5cm every time he lies.

I don't know if Saiki would enjoy that one so much since he'd be at such a disadvantage and he doesn't seem to like losing outright. At least with hide-and-seek they'd be pretty evenly matched, so Saiki would get the challenge and probably lose sometimes but might win other times. It could be a fun scenario to write, though, and have them discover some new information about each other.

What's your favorite machine to fight in HZD and what's your favorite machine in general?

Back to the ask though. Funnest to fight would be Rockbreaker or Thunderjaw.

There's this spot in Carja that has 2 Rockbreakers. You can stealth your way up to a high spot there and shoot Corruption arrows at them and watch them kill each other. LOL

Thunderjaw along with Stormbird were the MOST frustrating to learn how to kill (I legit had an easier time killing Deathbringers esp since I was playing on normal and was overleveled from well. hunting Thunderjaws) but once I got the hang of it they're pretty fun. Thunderjaw gets the spot though because I like shooting their own gun off them and killing them with it, then killing all the other machines I attract with it.

Favorite machine is Longlegs! Laughed my ass off when I first saw them, because that was the day my neighbor got four chickens (3 hens and a rooster). Then this December when I started playing again Longlegs were the first I killed after I stopped laughing. My eczema also started getting triggered by chicken before that. Huh...

I haven't gotten to Frozen Wilds yet so I might get a new favorite machine. (I'm actually supposed to do the main story now but I'm getting the urge to go to the Frozen Wilds because it's cold now but we don't actually have snow here.) Also looking forward to Forbidden West for the machine designs. (My copy of it hasn't arrived yet though! Which is cool because my sister is gonna have enough time to finish her homework so when it does arrive she can play it immediately and I'll watch her.)

Oh this is very fun to discuss! One of my all-time favorite genres to write is zombie apocalypse AND I've written BTS so much (specifically in this AU, too) so I actually have a lot of thoughts!

On their own, neither Namjoon nor Hoseok have "survive the apocalypse" energy. There's a short list of traits commonly associated with surviving a zombie apocalypse and those aren't two guys that immediately come to mind when rattling them off.

But! Together, I think they'd do fairly well. Virgo/Aquarius is a really good friendship combination since the two signs are so different and they have such different natural talents. Namjoon has a very level head and a gift for leadership where Hope is very resourceful and thinks outside the box.

They'd very much be a duo that sneaks around, sticks to the shadows, stays out of trouble. They'd scout out locations, track zombies and other survivors and do their best to avoid conflict for their own safety. I see them having quiet melee weapons and, maybe someday, a sniper rifle with a silencer.

Ultimately, I think they'd make a home for themselves someplace unexpected. I'm picturing a well-fortified university library with tons of creative defenses and traps. They'd meet other survivors while out exploring and end up forming a small but scrappy group that becomes like a found family (for whatever reason, my brain has decided on Jihyo, Momo, Huening Kai and Soobin lmao)
