I appreciate all y'all's advice! Just to touch on a few things that were mentioned:

They did check my ferritin. It's 16, so the absolute lowest number possible that can be considered in the normal range.

I know not to take it with my thyroid medication, so I take that in the morning and the iron before bed.

I take it with Vitamin C.

I don't take it with black tea - in fact I don't drink black tea in the evenings pretty much ever.

I have to admit that sometimes I do have cheese as a late night snack, but not to the extent that it should be causing this issue - I've successfully taken iron supplements for years without having any problem until very recently.

Most likely, I have some malabsorbtion issue which is what I have been TRYING to tell my PCP since July. This started around the same time I was getting my thyroid treated but those levels have been normal since around March and I'm still having issues with muscle cramps and BRUTAL fatigue.

Considering that autoimmune disorders run in packs and my thyroid problem was of the autoimmune variety, it seems like celiac is a likely contender, but I didn't figure that out until today when I was Googling about why my iron might have dropped so dramatically while on supplements.

I actually said to my doctor at my last visit, "my endocrinologist said I should be checked for other autoimmune disorders as a cause of my problems since once you have one, you're more likely to have others" and my doctor said, "you don't have the rash you get with lupus or the widespread joint pain you would have with rheumatoid arthritis" and I said "ohhhhhhhkay"

So now I have to go back to my doctor and say "I think I have celiac" and I'd bet 20 bucks she'll say "but you don't have any GI symptoms" whereupon I will show her the five articles I have bookmarked about atypical presentation of celiac disease and if she still argues I guess I'll just stop eating gluten and see what happens.

My iron has dropped from 39 to 23 in three months *while taking iron supplements* and when the results came in my pcp was like "your iron is kind of low :) :) you should take an iron supplement :) :) :) maybe three times a week :) :)" as if I have not asked about my iron levels the past two visits in a row and I'm gonna lose it

Hey everyone! this is where the zebra is currently with the design.

It has knee braces!! I will most probably be drawing the zebra usually with them on, but it’s no requirement, for example if anyone else wants to draw the zebra :-]. I always like to make sure an animal design has official colors underneath any clothing and accessory anyway. I think this will be final! thank you everyone for your feedback!

As a reminder, aside from why the zebra was requested for this flag, this is also just a zebra with the disability pride flag on it. It’s just a deisgn to fit the flag, with input from other disabled people in our community. It doesn’t mean other animals can’t have designs with these colors, too! I don’t mean this design to be the only mascot for all disabled people. It’s just a silly series i do of pride animals, and at the time, during disability pride month, I wanted to see what everyone wanted me to start off with for this flag!

the goal with my pride animals is to take requests and make people feel happy and seen.. that’s all <:-)

OKAY, HERE’S THE FINAL DATA!

I started querying in January with the lefthand letter. in May I finally found success (!!!!!!) with the righthand query letter.

over those 5 months of querying, I picked up 65 rejections. the vast, VAST majority were copy/paste form rejections, but a few included personalized criticism, which actually helped me a great deal. I rewrote the first two chapters from scratch based off the advice in one of those rejections, and I think that proved vital in eventually finding an agent.

(one of the personalized rejections was also unnecessarily mean, so now I have this grudge against a random man I’ll never meet)

was I ready to start querying in January? probably not! I didn’t understand all the speculative fiction subgenres, so ended up bothering people that I never had a chance with, and because my letter + manuscript weren’t polished enough, I basically guaranteed rejection for myself early on. BUT I don’t think I’d have learned enough to know I wasn’t ready if I hadn’t just gone ahead and started. 

and in the end, I’m thrilled with the agency/agent I’ve found myself with. it took a lot of time and research and reworking of everything, but you gotta have the persistence of an annoying fly that refuses to be smacked to death!

toxic traits i think redacted audio characters have/used to have: listener edition!

angel - pessimistic + perfectionism, especially when it comes to the pack. They feel slightly inferior because they’re human, so when it comes to planning events like the Solstice, they want everything to be perfect but they can’t help but imagine the absolute worst. I think they also begin to spiral a little when it comes to David + the pack and them working specific events, this is bc of the Inversion.

baabe - a massive people pleaser. similarly to angel, they feel inferior to the pack because they’re human, so when asher first introduced them to the pack, baabe altered basically everything about themselves from their interests to their humor in attempt to fit in. they’re like this with other humans too. They’re a lot better now that they’ve got roots in the pack, though.

sweetheart - major workaholic + defensive. the department obviously demands a lot from its employees, so sweetheart is definitely running on a few hours of sleep and caffeine, but instead of taking breaks they can sit at a desk and do paperwork all day. they often fail to realize how damaging it is and they get snappy when people try to help them. they usually apologize afterwards cause they’re cool like that.

smartass - inflexible + slightly aggressive. they are sooo stubborn and they don’t like trying new things at ALL. They also tend to get pretty feisty when somebody challenges them on anything and they’re quick to dish out insults. and i mean they go for the JUGULAR. they’ll insult your appearance, your grammar, they’ll find your whole family tree on facebook and bring up your family issues if it means they’ll win an argument.

lovely - they’re a little too confident and they overestimate themself. lovely is tough, don’t get me wrong BUT they tend to automatically assume they can do anything. the type of person to watch ultimate ninja warrior or some shit and be like “i could do that” but they most definitely could not. i still can’t get over how vincent warned them on that mountain or whatever and they decided not to listen and immediately got their shit rocked.

bright eyes - they used to be very impulsive. they get the urge to do something? they ARE going to do it. zero forethought. after the Quinn incident, they try to think before acting more often.

honey - they used to be very dismissive. they did not prioritize closeness, affection, or intimacy in their relationships because they didn’t know how to channel those emotions. ever since being with Guy, he’s helped them a lot.

darlin/tank - oh boyyy. they’ve definitely picked up on some extreme negativity in their life, but i think one of their worst traits was their recklessness. we know darlin has a habit at throwing themself into danger head on like they’re invincible, which results in them severely injured and needing somebody to take care of them. Part of me also thinks that they struggle with empathy. in the “Confronted by Your Pack Alpha” video, darlin seemed to have a hard time understanding how David + the pack felt about them running off to go vampire hunting and they were fully convinced that they were doing the right thing by trying to “protect” everyone.

i purposely left out some listeners, like lasko’s, antons, and james’ because i have no clue what theirs would be. I also left out Cutie because we all know what their toxic trait is… oh boy.

24-06-18: I DID forget to add something to the video omg! What i also do is i make a copy of the denoised or the rgb noise layer and put that ABOVE the color layer and set the layer mode to usually soft light and sometimes overlay mode. See what mode works best for you! This makes the texture look Less Flat haha.
