“Behave.” He scolds with no heat behind it.

“Mhm, yessir.” Buck purrs, his lips moving across Tommy’s bare shoulder. 

“Fuck.” Tommy breathes out and completely stills, and Buck can’t really see his face but he knows his boyfriend closed his eyes and is trying to calm down – which can’t be easy with Buck still plastered against his back. “This food is gonna burn if you keep this up. And we have guests to feed.” He adds, and as if to make a point, he flips a slightly overdone burger, Buck hindering his movements just a little bit.

Before he can respond, he hears another voice get through the chatter and music and reach his ears.

“Buck!” Chimney calls, and Buck looks over his shoulder to find everyone’s eyes on him, amused expressions on their faces. “Don’t distract our cook, we’re starving!”

“I’m just scolding him for taking his shirt off.” Buck says easily, then adds a little louder, to Tommy but making sure everyone hears, “Babe, you’re gonna burn yourself, you’re a firefighter, you should know better.” He shakes his head, and Tommy looks back at him with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh, you’re gonna pretend like you don’t approve?”

“Oh, I so don’t, Tommy, at all.” Buck tries to keep a straight face, but a chuckle bubbles out of him anyway. “You’re such a distraction, this is dangerous for everyone here.”

��I think you’re the only one with that problem, Buckaroo.” Hen laughs, and only then Buck remembers everyone’s still paying attention to them. It’s so easy to get lost in Tommy, to feel like it’s just them, even in a crowd of people. So distracting. It’s a hazard, really. He should keep Tommy away from everyone, preferably locked in the bedroom with him, for everyone’s safety.

Yes! I’m writing a fanfic set about 15 years after canon, the first chapter is posted on ao3! <- (link) I’ll be updating it till I either finish it or lose motivation…. Hopefully the former rather than the latter. I’ve already got big plans for it, though…

it's been a couple months since y/n and dallas broke up. y/n was the one to break up with him since she caught him cheating. he tried to explain, but she didn't want a cheater in her life anymore, so she left. both of them have been trying to move on, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

whenever dallas would hang around the bar with buck, he would just be moping about something he caused. it would happen every night, like tonight.

he's looking miserable like every other day, staring into the bottom of his glass that had liquor in it just a few moments ago. he's snapped out of his thoughts about losing someone so good when buck slaps his back.

"if you miss y/n so much, then you should go and talk to her. she can't still be mad."

buck has never really been good at advice. but he does try to get his friend happy again. everyone has noticed the abrupt change in dallas ever since she broke up with him. it's like night and day.

dallas shakes his head. "she's still mad at me, man, i know it. i can't go over there no matter how bad i wanna."

buck sighs and taps his fingers against the table. he knows that nobody can help dallas if he can't help himself in some way. the two are silent, before dallas stands up after a minute.

"you goin to see her?"

"yeah, man. she's probably still awake."

dallas won't ever admit it, but he definitely loves y/n. he's memorized the tiniest details about her, even the exact time she tends to get tired. he loves her. he just wishes he could've shown it while they were together.

and with that, he exits the bar and decides to walk there. he needs some time to think on the way there, and even though he's a reckless driver, he doesn't wanna get caught up in his thoughts and die at the wheel.

dallas knows exactly where to turn and what to cross to get to y/n's house. he's been there countless times. her home was like his home. being with her was home and he can't believe he just gave her up like that.

after a fifteen minute walk, he reaches the front of her house. he sees her car parked outside and the lights in her room still on. she's here and she's awake. he makes his way in front of her window, and picks up some pebbles off the ground. he tosses them, aiming them at her window.

dallas is really hoping she opens up the window. soon, very soon, his hopes and wishes come true as he sees the window shaking slightly like someone is struggling with it before it slides open. he can't help but smile at the sight of the beautiful, sleepy girl he once called his girlfriend.

"what are you doing here?" she asks with irritation ridden in her voice.

dallas shrugs and lets the rest of the pebbles in his hand fall. "can i come in?" he tries to seem casual.

y/n watches his movements, suspicious of his intentions. her eyes go to a slight squint, and dallas chuckles softly as he sees it. he thinks she's perfect. "why?"

"because," dallas starts, thinking of an excuse that'll definitely work for her. he wants to tell her that he's planning on talking to her and making up, but that would result in a slam of the window. "it's cold out here, man, i need a place to stay."

she thinks about it for a moment. if he's cold, he could just go back to the bar. but also, that's another fifteen minute walk of being in the darkness of the cold night. she just doesn't have the heart to leave him to be cold. "fine."

his face immediately lights up as he begins approaching the window. she moves aside and stands up straight so he can come in, and he does. she sits back on the bed and notices how he shivers a little as he shuts the window. what she doesn't know is that it's fake shivering, so she falls for it. but he doesn't mean to fake anything in a mean way. he just misses her and wants to be close to her.

"if you're cold, get in my bed."

dallas doesn't waste any time to slip off his shoes and plop into the bed. y/n lays back, next to him. he scoots closer to her, looking up at her with admiration as he starts to bury his face in her neck. he's practically laying on top of her. he gently grabs her arms and puts them around his back.

both of them silently miss cuddling like this. late at night, in one of their beds, holding each other and whispering sweet nothings to each other. it was sweet. they had a genuine relationship. the question that remains on y/n's mind is why he had to ruin it.

she takes a soft, deep breath as she starts to gently massage his scalp with her fingertips. "dal?" she speaks in a small whisper.

dallas doesn't take his face from her neck as he hums in response. he runs his hand up and down her side like he used to do. he subconsciously places a kiss on her collarbone, feeling comfortable and content. although y/n feels the same way, her body slightly stiffens with surprise, but quickly relaxes.

"why'd you cheat on me?"

his heart quickly drops to his stomach. being reminded of that just makes him sad, even though he won't show it. he lifts his head from her neck, hovering his face over hers so they can look at each other. he sighs softly, his arms still around her and gently touching her.

"i was lonely, i guess. i was fuckin stupid, baby, you know that. i just ... wanted attention and i didn't think about you or how much it'd hurt you." he says honestly. he doesn't wanna lie to her by saying he doesn't know. he wants to earn her trust again.

her hands gently run through his hair. he presses his forehead against hers, which she doesn't fight. she seems to be accepting with everything he's doing, which he won't take advantage of.

"if you felt like you wanted attention, just come to me. i know it's too late now, but i was always there for you."

"it's not too late. y/n, i didn't realize how much i took you for granted until i lost you." dallas continues to gently caress her. he doesn't let himself be weak, but he always lets himself go when he's with y/n. "i love you."

that's the first time he's ever said he loves her. he won't ever take it back. he needs to let her know how much he loves her and needs her. just not in front of anyone else.

"i love you too, dally."

dallas smiles at the mutual feeling between them. if she gives him a chance, he'll be the best boyfriend he can ever be. she returns the smile and giggles softly as she wraps her arms around his neck. he immediately buries his face in her neck again, planting kisses over it and her shoulder and collarbones.

they probably won't make up immediately. but the feeling of them against each other, holding each other, is enough for tonight. they'll start over soon.

starting to think more about grimshea.... i think the most obvious way to shove them together in a way that i like is, when dutch and the boys leave for guarma, push molly towards susan instead of towards drinking and the pinkertons. have their shared love of dutch pull them together rather than push them apart for once. its a really vivid image of molly breaking down over dutchs everything and susan pulling her closer in a brief moment of "oh sweetheart i know exactly how you feel and i feel it too. so so bad. but i need you to be strong for me. we are those who were closest to dutch, its our responsibility to be strong for them, to help sadie guide them. we'll get through this together i just need you to be strong for me. we dont like each other at all but i need you more now than ive ever needed you before." and molly is looking up at her with the most dazzled eyes asking "you need me? i am a being who has value in someones gaze?"

and susan fostering a dependence on her in molly would, in turn, foster independence from dutch in both of them. perhaps susan will teach molly the true nature of men, how they say they pine and pine and then drop you the second youre a minor inconvenience. and thats just the way it is "for women like us." and if molly asks what the "women like us" is about susan will grin a little and whisper "the actually pretty women," and they both laugh a little. kicks dirt. so anyway hows your morning been

piastri gaining more positions in races doesn’t mean he’s performing better than norris or more consistently. he’s 13-3 down in quali, you are always going to gain more places if you start further back! norris has consistently outperformed him this season, which is kinda clear from the gaps between them at the end of races - norris has finished more than 20 seconds ahead of him quite a few times this season. piastri’s biggest lead to him was abt 10 seconds and that was when norris didn’t put under the sc at jeddah.

norris is getting team orders because he is the one who has performed well enough and consistently enough to be in the championship fight. oscar hasn’t. simple as that.

the sheet will also show you the positions norris has lost. you gain more positions if you start further back, but you really aren't supposed to lose more positions if you start ahead! norris makes too many errors that cost him positions. simple as that.

and speaking of consistently outperforming,

i personally don't think what norris needs is team orders. what he needs is to perform better- and not just in comparison to oscar. the bulk of his point loss is because of stupid errors and, not to sound like a broken record, but calling for team orders instead of improvement on his end is like slapping a bandaid on an open wound. will it work? maybe. is there a bigger problem that needs to be resolved? absolutely. is it unfair for oscar to be the bandaid at his own expense in this scenario while the gaping wound goes unaddressed? goes without saying!!

go back and read that paragraph three more times because i keep repeating the same notion but i don't know why you have elected to ignore or misinterpret.

everyone hates team orders yadda yadda but most people will shut up when they're justified. in this case, it's unjustified. if you lose positions in 47% of your races, you are not consistent or strong. if you NEED team orders to fight a championship and cannot carry your own weight, you do not deserve it. simple enough i hope.

Teen Wolf's Canaan

in the sixth episode of the sixth season scott, lydia and malia go to canaan, a place which has become a ghost town after the wild hunt came through in the 80s with only one inhabitant still there. there are two major references being made in this episode, the first being that to the both biblical and real bronze age location of canaan and the second being to the ballad lenore by bürger.

in genesis 9:25 noah curses canaan, the son of ham, that he and all of his descendants, the canaanites, will be servants for the rest of time. the conquest of canaan in the book of joshua as well as the curse of canaan are mirrored in the episode with the ghost riders' attack on the town and is further expanded on when, at the end of the episode lydia explains that the people taken by the wild hunt become ghost riders themselves, effectively making them servants of the hunt.

the only person left behind by the riders is a woman named lenore. her name draws the viewer back to the 1774 ballad of the same name, in which a ghostly rider comes to a woman in the disguise of her dead lover and takes her on a ride. the poem culminates when lenore realizes that the rider is indeed death himself come for her. teen wolf's lenore as all other banshees has a close connection to death and the dead, for her the spectral entity shown to her is not her deceased lover but instead it is her son who drowned as a child. bürger's lenore dies at the end of the poem, where teen wolf's lenore decided to stay in canaan with the apparition of her dead son, a kind of death in itself.
