🌩️ something funny from a wip. (The story I originally thought of in response to this was simply too spicy for tumblr, so here’s another; a bit of dialogue for several years down the line from where Rupees and Rods is now.)

“Link.” The salesman wheedle rode the edges of even that simple, short name.

Link’s eyes narrowed. Suspicion rearing, he lifted his head. 

Ravio gave him a nervous smile. Which, of course, just made Link’s lips purse and his brow tighten further. 

Ravio rallied anyway. “You know how we’ve talked about Hilda wanting me to establish more firm diplomatic relations with Hyrule’s neighbors? In person, not just in letters? And how you’re coming with?” He rushed to add, clearly not eager to have a repeat of the circular arguments they’d gotten into in regards to the entire topic.

“Yes?” Link drew the end of the word out. 

“The nearest one is Hytopia. I've already been in contact with–”

Immediate horror. Link recoiled. "No." 

“But!”

“No.” 

Every single one of those stupid outfits was still there. Probably still in the same trunk Stylia cheerfully told him they’d be stored in, just in case he ever returned. Visions danced in Link’s head. He could well imagine Ravio’s reaction to seeing even one of them, and it did not bode well for Link’s pride.

The salesman’s smile grew blinding. “Perfect! Hytopia it is!”

💧 something romantic/hot from a wip (Link and Ravio share one last quiet moment before their wedding party) -

They’d helped each other dress in the richly appointed room of the castle that would also serve as their honeymoon suite before a pair of assistants dragged them to separate rooms to do their hair. But they had another brief moment in it now, their last chance to be alone before the party.

“Are you all right?” Seeing his obvious nerves, Ravio leaned in close, smoothing his hands over the already-perfect shoulders of Link’s rich new outfit. He was almost afraid of touching Ravio in return lest he cause any rumpled clothing. The tightness around his eyes quickly overrode the moment of hesitation. He put his hands on Ravio’s hips. Ravio didn’t hesitate to step closer, fully into Link’s personal space. 

“I’ll be fine. It’s just our friends.” 

And a few nobles. And–

Ravio leaned in, lips brushing soft over Link's own. And then, on the second pass, lingering and firm. His hands fluttered up towards Link’s hair and then away again, remembering at the last moment not to dislodge the decorations there. 

“Thank you for this,” he breathed. 

“Are you happy? With how all the planning turned out?” Link could put up with one party if it meant Ravio would be happy. “Yes.” His eyes gleamed. The next touch that landed on Link’s chest made him very aware of what he wore under the fancy new garments. “I’m happy with my plans for after, as well,” he purred. Link swallowed, suddenly both more and less confident in his ability to get through this. More, because that look promised distraction, often, probably whenever Ravio noticed him growing tense and possibly just when it would be annoying. Less, because Link found himself desperate for having what those bedroom eyes promised right now.

Out of curiosity, are you using a dremel to etch the glass?

No! No dremels!!!

... ok so anyways. The tool I use for etching glass, carving eggs, stone, whatever else I get my hands on, is a rotary drill. It is not, however, a dremel.

Basically dremels (dremels are a brand of drills/tools btw for anyone who didn't know) are not small enough, with small enough bits, or fast enough rotation, to be delicate enough for all the stuff I do. Glass especially- the rotations and vibrations can easily be too much if I go too deep. Overall to etch glass and eggs like I do I need... a dental drill!!

Uhh so yeah, I can and absolutely will not cut your teeth out. The rotary drill I use looks like this:

It can go to 50,000 rotations per minute (really fast!) and has a pencil handpiece. This isn't exactly a drill you will see in a dental practice, but it is a dental drill. Me and my dentist have regular arguments about who's drill is better (mine goes faster but his has more power behind it lmao)

The way I had to hold my hand to get this shot was terrible it sucked

I had to save up for a bit when I was younger to get this drill, and it's about as cheap as it'll get. The thing is for glass etching/engraving, egg carving, stone carving, etc, is that there isn't enough demand with the small amount of artists to justify anyone making drills specifically for it. So artists like me who want to make stuff in that area literally have to buy dental office drills, which, while hilarious, is really expensive.

Sorry if I've rambled too long- I'm proud of my drill <33 if anyone has questions about my uhh throwing whatever together art process, feel free to ask, I know yall are curious bc it's not exactly common.

i would like to know your head canons for how well each of the links can braid hair ( i will share mine later when i can think straight )

Time - Hmm on the fence, learning towards no. The only person who may have taught him to braid is Malon. I'm not sure she would have ever had the reason or opportunity to.

Warriors - has no idea XD. I headcanon that Linkle is his long lost twin and they were separated from eachother as young children. Then Warriors grew up in a home for boys and then joined the military as soon as he was able. He never had the opportunity to learn to braid.

Twilight - definitely knows braiding, but also the fancier kinds of braiding like French braid, inside-out French braid, herringbone, etc. From a lifetime of caring for the manes and tails of horses and the children of his village.

Sky - Yes he can do it, but not very well. He grew up an orphan with no siblings, but he was close friends with Zelda and she taught him when they were kids.

Four - He's never braided before, but he's smart enough he could easily figure it out and get good at it on his own.

Legend - Yes, he can braid. Ravio taught him how to braid string to make pretty price tags for items, but Legend didn't learn how to do it with hair until he met Marin. He likes braiding hair of the other Links because it reminds him of her.

Hyrule - A Great Fairy taught him, but he's not very good at it because he doesn't often get the opportunity to braid anything.

Wild - Doesn't know how to braid. Zelda tried to teach him, but his post-resurrection brain couldn't understand it. He's more of a gross motor skill kind of guy than a fine motor skill kind of guy.

Wind - Definitely knows how to braid. His grandmother taught him so he can braid his sister's hair when she is too busy or her hands are too arthritic. He's not as good as Twilight, but he's better than most.

Sky and Wild sat in quiet contemplation at the campfire, another night where neither could sleep and they would keep each other company. Sky looked at him, humming in response.

3 - Least favorite canon thing about this character?

When we talk about the movies, it's everything about the new movies LOL. Starting from taking one of the most important aspects aka being the older protective brother from him. But since I don't work with that particular multiverse timeline and ignore it even exists, I'll turn to comics for a moment, I guess. Boi really needs to learn how to talk about his emotions more instead of relying on the telepaths in his life to read him and sort shit out for him on a personal level. Seriously. Dude. You don't got your tongue only for making your lovers scream in bed.

5 - What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

People knowing my fanfiction verse know that I gave Scott a rather unpopular hobby with classic dancing (thanks Hellfire Gala 2022 for enabling me in that by him rocking that tango), so there's lots of songs I remember him and the wifey dancing to that are dear to my heart. He's also a bit of a movie nerd, can't change my mind, and I made it canon in my verse that he often watches Breakfast Club with the kids in movie hours at school because yeah, at least in old movieverse timeline, he IS that much of a dinosaur and the movie is great for emotional growth especially for you teenagers. So somehow I always end up with Don't you forget about me for him in my head, not least because I named the oneshot in question after one of the lyrics.

1 - Why do you like or dislike this character?

It's really the whole "wearing my scars on the inside" thing. I love the whole idea of someone physically indestructible coming with the according mental damage of decades and someday millenia, probably. It's basically a short-sized Tolkien elf aesthetic, think more of Silmarillion elves though who were far more feral and less regal LOL.

5 - What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Going back to my verse again where Logan's big on the classics not least because they often trigger memories of the life he's forgotten. Ring of Fire means a lot to Jean and him in that verse, which is not least why I named a oneshot series about them after it.

12 - What’s a headcanon you have for this character?

Much like Scott, Logan's actually not bad a dancer and not half-bad a singer. He doesn't love both but get him drunk enough he'll hum away and if the occasion calls for it, he'll be on the floor. Grudgingly.

We both have an accent that people often won't understand LOL.

I mean, depends on how aro-poly things get *cough*. Otherwise, we'll both need really good noise cancelling phones because there'll be lots of kinky shit going on in both rooms and a gal needs to sleep every once in a while.

15 - What’s your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not.)

I'm a Romy truther but in oneshots, you can sell me pretty much. Much like Scott, Remy's a fandom bycicle for me. Even wrote him with Scott in a oneshot once or twice because they're just fucking hot together.

21 - If you’re a fic writer and have written for this character, what’s your favorite thing to do when you’re writing for this character? What’s something you don’t like?

I talked about it before and just can repeat, I really am committed to my "former voluntary and enthusiastic sexworker Remy" headcanon. I like working on that part when I get the chance, including all the highs and lows that come with the job, the changing attitude towards sex and physical nearness especially with regard to Marie etc.

Don't ever ask me to write a cajun accent though. I simply let it be because there's enough hacks at Marvel headquarters already who butcher languages they can't be assed to hire someone for who actually speaks them. I don't want to look similarly stupid. Like, it's mentioned that he speaks cajun and the accent in my stories several times but I don't write it out in dialogue because I simply suck at it. But if someone who actually speaks cajun ever is in the mood to redo all my Remy dialogue, you're welcome.

Drop an unpopular trix opinion

This one came to mind immediately since I was just talking about it with some friends the other day, but I really can't get behind the head canon's that the trix have "real" names besides of Icy, Darcy and Stormy. Unless it serves a narrative purpose, who are we to say that the people of the Magic dimension don't name their children after their powers? It would make sense considering that the Winx are also named after their powers, but no one seems to give them alternate names.

I completely reject Icy's s8 backstory. I don't think this one's not massively unpopular, but nonetheless, I know some people feel strongly about it. I sincerely just don't understand why they had to make a Domino 2.0 when they could have let the trix have completely unique backstories that shed light on different experiences than what the Winx had already gone through

And I figured we weren’t the only ones that might want a bite to eat.’ Wild gestured with his head to Warrior, who still sat motionless with Wind in his lap, his eyes trained on the flickering flames of the campfire.

The word bite is used 22 times in BDOR arc 1, which is where I took this selection from (since you didn't specify a WIP). With this ask, I managed to write 742 words in 20 minutes (I forgot to unmute my phone's alarm lol) for a wpm of 37! Thank you so much for the ask, this helped me get a lot done.

It looks like your current obsessions are Genshin and Honkai Star Rail. I just started watching a Genshin Let's play. Who's your favorite character? Also, Paimon puzzles me. Is she a fairy? What is Honkai Star Rail?

Haha, yep! Sorry I've kind of taken a step away from the Zelda fandom for it; for some reason Genshin and HSR has just consumed me 😅

My favorite Genshin character will always be Diluc Ragnvindr :3

Not only do I find him very attractive, but his whole lore and backstory is interesting. His dynamics with some of the other characters in the game is kind of heartbreaking, but also funny at the same time. Despite his rough exterior, he has a lot of good in his heart and cares deeply for people, even strangers. Also his voice actor is the same VA for Revali, so that is also a win for me XD

Paimon is Paimon

Honkai Star Rail is kind of the sister game to Genshin Impact, set in a sort of futuristic world whereas Genshin Impact is more fantasy. Though they're quite similar, the only main difference is that HSR has a different combat system and more story-focused. I don't know why it has my attention all of a sudden probably because of the new characters but I really enjoy the aesthetics and the turn-based combat can be pretty relaxing at times, though I do find myself more inclined to fall asleep (just ignore me struggling with a battle earlier this morning). Also the soundtrack is just really good.
