Scott Summers: 3, 5, 13, 23
Logan: 1, 5, 12, 14
Remy Lebeau: 6, 9, 15, 21
CHARACTER ASK GAME!!!
Scott Summers
3 - Least favorite canon thing about this character?
When we talk about the movies, it's everything about the new movies LOL. Starting from taking one of the most important aspects aka being the older protective brother from him. But since I don't work with that particular multiverse timeline and ignore it even exists, I'll turn to comics for a moment, I guess. Boi really needs to learn how to talk about his emotions more instead of relying on the telepaths in his life to read him and sort shit out for him on a personal level. Seriously. Dude. You don't got your tongue only for making your lovers scream in bed.
5 - What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
People knowing my fanfiction verse know that I gave Scott a rather unpopular hobby with classic dancing (thanks Hellfire Gala 2022 for enabling me in that by him rocking that tango), so there's lots of songs I remember him and the wifey dancing to that are dear to my heart. He's also a bit of a movie nerd, can't change my mind, and I made it canon in my verse that he often watches Breakfast Club with the kids in movie hours at school because yeah, at least in old movieverse timeline, he IS that much of a dinosaur and the movie is great for emotional growth especially for you teenagers. So somehow I always end up with Don't you forget about me for him in my head, not least because I named the oneshot in question after one of the lyrics.
13 - What’s an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?
✔️
Look, boi just loves his organization lists and to pester everyone with them even worse since the invention of smartphones.
23 - Favorite picture of this character?
Pfft, that's evil to choose from in a franchise that has so many verses :D.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With comics, there's far too many so I took the latest. For reasons. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's same face syndrom, might just as well be looking at Remy here if you shun the VISOR. But like. Any Scott comic look looking similar to James is fine with me. Also, yes, much as I hate this movie, I have a motorcycle fetish, thanks for asking.
Logan
1 - Why do you like or dislike this character?
It's really the whole "wearing my scars on the inside" thing. I love the whole idea of someone physically indestructible coming with the according mental damage of decades and someday millenia, probably. It's basically a short-sized Tolkien elf aesthetic, think more of Silmarillion elves though who were far more feral and less regal LOL.
5 - What’s the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Going back to my verse again where Logan's big on the classics not least because they often trigger memories of the life he's forgotten. Ring of Fire means a lot to Jean and him in that verse, which is not least why I named a oneshot series about them after it.
12 - What’s a headcanon you have for this character?
Much like Scott, Logan's actually not bad a dancer and not half-bad a singer. He doesn't love both but get him drunk enough he'll hum away and if the occasion calls for it, he'll be on the floor. Grudgingly.
14 - Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Dumpster cowboy Logan never gets old.
Remy LeBeau
6 - What’s something you have in common with this character?
We both have an accent that people often won't understand LOL.
9 - Could you be roommates with this character?
I mean, depends on how aro-poly things get *cough*. Otherwise, we'll both need really good noise cancelling phones because there'll be lots of kinky shit going on in both rooms and a gal needs to sleep every once in a while.
15 - What’s your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not.)
I'm a Romy truther but in oneshots, you can sell me pretty much. Much like Scott, Remy's a fandom bycicle for me. Even wrote him with Scott in a oneshot once or twice because they're just fucking hot together.
21 - If you’re a fic writer and have written for this character, what’s your favorite thing to do when you’re writing for this character? What’s something you don’t like?
I talked about it before and just can repeat, I really am committed to my "former voluntary and enthusiastic sexworker Remy" headcanon. I like working on that part when I get the chance, including all the highs and lows that come with the job, the changing attitude towards sex and physical nearness especially with regard to Marie etc.
Don't ever ask me to write a cajun accent though. I simply let it be because there's enough hacks at Marvel headquarters already who butcher languages they can't be assed to hire someone for who actually speaks them. I don't want to look similarly stupid. Like, it's mentioned that he speaks cajun and the accent in my stories several times but I don't write it out in dialogue because I simply suck at it. But if someone who actually speaks cajun ever is in the mood to redo all my Remy dialogue, you're welcome.

I watched X-Men 2000 tonight. Yup the Deadpool and Wolverine brain worms got me - at least for a little while - so I figured I'd rewatch the old movies that I havent seen in over a decade and have basically forgotten entirely at this point.
You know what really stunned me? Even more than the slow pace, serious tone, actual dedication to telling a coherent and interesting story with layers of meaning and social commentary attached to it, as well as a sincerity that's been missing from most superhero films since the MCU was born (thanks Josh Whedon).
Nope, what shocked me most was this:
Tumblr media
This is a perfect specimen of a man. Look at him. He's gorgeous. But look at his chest? His arms? He's muscular, he's pretty well toned, he's hairy. He's definitely got a six pack - but it's nicely covered by a healthy layer of fat. His skin is plump, he has a bit of squish to him. He'd probably be great to hug (Jean Grey certainly gives him a good squeeze lol).
When he sits down he looks like his stomach will roll just nicely. Like a stomach should.
I know my point here is obvious. It's just that scrolling the Deadpool and Wolvering tag is basically 50% "oh they definitely fucked in the Honda Odyssey" (yes lol) and the other 50% is just horny posting over Wolverine's topless scene like the entire site suddenly adopted Deadpools horny brain.
I gotta give props to Hugh Jackman for his dedication to turn himself into an actual comic book character - because that's what this new movie does. It gives us a comic accurate Wolverine in practically every way (except for his height lol) the suit is amazing, the cowl was a joy to see brought into live action. The body too though was straight out of a comic book artists male power fantasy.
What I wanted to emphasise was that this:
Tumblr media
Is extremely tough on the human body. What I wanna know is how long he starved and dehydrated himself for before filming this scene? How long before they shot this did he last drink some water? Because damn that must have been tough. The oil and the lighting probably help further emphasise the muscle, vein, and sinew definition. It's probably similar to how body builders prepare before a show.
Nothing about body building is healthy though. So in the coming weeks as the whole entertainment industry rides on the coat tales of this movies success, and everyone goes crazy over Hugh Jackmans physique, please don't feel pressured into thinking that his 2024 physique in the movie is remotely realistic - or realistically attractive. Like I get the fantasy sure, but come on. I'd personally rather lie on a cushioned bed than a concrete floor.
Deadpool may disagree with me, but he's a masochist lol.
Oh and whilst I stand by the shade I threw at the MCU above, I think Wolverine's different physiques in the movies is a good standard of comparison for how much superhero movies have changed. Because when superhero comics first started getting adapted I think a lot of the choices made were about how to bring them to live action realistically and believably and the attitude was to try not to make them look ridiculous. The first X-Men movies definitely do this.
It was about bringing the comics to life in a way that fit in our world. But over the years, as audiences got more and more used to comic book movies the movies became more and more like comic books and less like a realistic adaptation of a comic book. Does that make sense? So as the movies attempted to bring the comics to life in a way that was less realistic and more comic accurate, the demands on the actors to sculpt their physiques to meet the standards of comic book art became normalised.
I think Deadpool and Wolverine is the MOST comic book accurate of all superhero movies made in the past 2 decades. Half the time the images from the movie look like they could be literally pulled from the pages of the comic books. The story is convoluted and stupid, the plot is barely there and is full of gaping plot holes and elements that don't fit any past stories. The action is ridiculous, extremely fast paced, gratuitous, and violent to a hilarious level. But it's so entertaining, joyful, exciting, and laugh out loud hilarious throughout.
It reminded me a LOT of my attempts at reading through the Deadpool comics (I've read a lot of them but no where near all of them).
To sum up this rambling message with multiple points, I'll say that Deadpool and Wolverine is a really fun movie that I thoroughly enjoyed, but make no mistake there is nothing real in it at all. It is almost literally a comic on screen. Don't expect anything more than that and you'll enjoy the experience.

Skill Issue: a Wolverine fan comic
TW: blood
Length: 6 pages
Main inspirations: final monologue of Wolverine #50 by Benjamin Percy. And my dad (a real life Logan)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanted to try my hand at a Logan monologue. Hope you all liked it 💙💛
Seeing that hunky old man in that yellow suit reminded me how important this character is to me. Been re-reading old comics and re-watching beloved movies. Wolverine has always been one of my most major comic influences. I've loved him since I was 8. Whenever people ask what my dream character to draw for he’s always one of ‘em. I could drone on but we’d be here all day.
Thanks for reading!

Hi, may I request Hugh Jackman x fem!reader were she's an interviewer and while she is interviewing Hugh and Ryan, Ryan notices how Hugh looks at the reader then says something about so Hugh ends up asking her out during the interview. (P.s- can there be a snippet after the fic or a part 2 were the reader and Hugh are getting married and Ryan is invited so during the reception he tells the story of how he played "matchmaker"?)
I love this!!!
I am so excited to write anyway thank you for requesting!!💗
Hugh Jackman x interviewer!reader
Warnings: Fluff Fluff Fluff!!!💗💗💗 reader is in her 30's in this fic and I decided to change Hugh's age a little as well and make him 50 (btw please tell me if there are any actual warnings because I'm delulu)
Hugh groaned as he opened his eyes to the blaring alarm in his ears. He reluctantly sat up to turn off his alarm. After he did so he yawned and stretched his muscles trying to get his sleep fogged brain to remember why he had to get up so early.
Then after a few minutes of struggling he realized he had interview with Ryan today about his new movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
He finally got up and started to get ready he took a shower, got dressed into nice clothes, and brushed his teeth and hair and when he was finally done he grabbed some breakfast (ngl I nearly put the australian term Brekkie) for the road.
As he got in the car he decide to call Ryan and talk on the drive there since it was an hour drive. As he was talking to Ryan he asked, "Hey do you know what we will be doing in today's interview?"
He honestly could never remember if it was a normal interview or something more like playing a game or something other than questions. Ryan replied, "It's supposed to be like a normal interview the interviewer is a woman this time Y/n l/n is her name or so i have been told."
that is a beautiful name he thought as he drove. Once he got there crew members were getting the shot ready. So he meet up with Ryan in the mean time who was talking the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Ryan looked up from his conversation with you and saw Hugh and eagerly waved him over. Hugh started walking as you turned to look at him you gave him a beaming smile that made your stunning e/c sparkle.
As he made his way over he couldn't help but be awe struck. Once he reached you both you stuck your hand out excitedly and introduced yourself "Hi I'm Y/n it is such an honer to meet you!"
He shook your hand with such gentleness it made your heart flutter you blushed at what he responded with "The honer is all mine, darling."
Ryan saw a look in Hugh's eyes as he stared at you and his smile turned mischievous "Y/n here was just telling me a bit about herself." Ryan told Hugh with a smirk.
"Really like what?" He asked you "He was just asking about my age and where I'm from stuff like that." you replied with a gentle voice Ryan added saying " she said that she is in her late 30's and is from (where ever you were raised)."
you smiled at them both as Hugh was about to respond one of the crew members came up to tell you it was time to start the interview. They get set up and soon the cameras start rolling.
"Hi welcome I'm Y/n l/n and today I will be interviewing Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds about their new movie Deadpool and Wolverine." You said with a enthusiastic voice. "Alright let's get started!" You continued before asking your first question.
"Okay so my first question is for Ryan what made you become a fan of Deadpool?" Ryan started laughing quietly "This is a funny story actually I found a Deadpool comic once and inside he described himself as looking like 'Ryan Reynolds crossed with Shar-Pei'."
Hugh added on "Oh yeah i remember you telling me that!" he chuckled "That is such a funny fact but I can defienitly see the Shar-Pei in him" you giggled a little and Hugh couldn't help but stare at you with love eyes.
Ryan noticed this and needed to say something before the interview was over as the interview continued with all sorts of fun such as jokes, laughter, and maybe a little flirting along with Hugh looking at you with a love sick face
“You know you two would be a really cute couple.” Ryan said randomly after one of the questions about his relationship with Blake “Really.” You say shocked. “Yea I mean you have good chemistry and man oh man you both look like lost puppy’s in love with the looks you are giving each other.”
Hugh laughed nervously but gained the confidence to ask you out "I have to agree with him on the last you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met and I would love to get to know you would you like to go to dinner with me tonight?" He said with so much hope in his eyes that this beautiful woman in front of him would say yes
"I would love to." You replied with an excited laugh "Finally, I thought I was gonna explode with how much sexual tension is happening here." Ryan added with a mischievous smile and glint in his eyes as he looked at the two people in front of him as they both turned into a blushing mess.
When the interview ended Hugh pulled you aside "Is dinner at 8:00 tonight good?" he asked with a gentle smile that made you week in the knees “It's perfect." you said with a giggle "Great I'll pick you up then." he winked at you as he left.
3 months later
you and Hugh have been thing ever since your wonderful dinner date after the interview and life couldn't be better except for Ryan’s constant bragging about bringing you together but you really couldn’t be more thankful for him for if he didn’t give you that little push who knows if you would have ever went on that date. You both have already fallen for each other fast and hard and you can't wait for the beautiful memories ahead.
I know its not great I'm still getting used to writing fanfics but I hope it lives up to your expectations
there will be a part two I loved this Idea so much please tell me if you would like to see there date and I will make that a bonus one 😉
thank you for requesting
much love,
Natt❤️

Wolverine Headcanons
Tumblr media
after a VERY long hiatus from Tumblr… I’m happy to say that I’m officially back!!
‧˚₊•┈┈┈┈୨ ⋆˙⟡♡⟡⋆˙ ୧┈┈┈┈•‧₊˚⊹
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Has a chunky pet squirrel named Bruce
He likes to eat Logan’s sandwiches, runs around the mansion and knows to stay indoors, and he has a black cowl/stripe shape on his face —which instantly reminded Logan of Batman, sparking his pet’s name
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Frequently visits a local diner and orders the same thing every time: waffles drenched in maple syrup, with a large plate of bacon on the side
The waitress who always serves him is a sweet, older, southern lady —either named Althea or Ida— and she knows his order by heart, often calling him “sugar” or “baby” in her thick accent
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Is secretly VERY clingy when he gets attached and loves to cuddle
When I tell you this man loves physical touch of any kind (I’m talking in a non-spicy way) HE REALLY loves it… cuddling, spooning, holding hands, having you sit in his lap while you both eat… it’s non stop with Logan (but I’m not complaining, lol)
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ He also loves when his hair and beard are softly scratched
Logan may seem like a no-nonsense baddie… but at the end of the day, he is a huge softie, loving his hair, beard, and back scratched. Who doesn’t? But Logan… he craves it
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Loves texting his girl, and often sends her too many gifs and emojis
I think when Logan finds the girl of his dreams (NOT JEAN) he surprises everyone at the mansion when they see him texting and smirking at his phone. Gifs, emojis, encouraging quotes from Pinterest, you name it… and he’ll send it to her. Because it not only makes her smile… but man, it makes him smile too
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Collects either shot glasses or pins every time he travels, especially when he’s on missions
I like to think this started when Logan officially moved into the X-Mansion, sooooo many years ago. He finally had a place to stay and somewhere to store his new belongings that he’d eventually buy/collect. And at first, he probably saw a pin/shot glass with a funny quote on it and decided to swipe it. But then, on each mission, it just became a habit
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Enjoys the musical 7 Brides for 7 Brothers because it’s very nostalgic for Logan and reminds him of the traditional lifestyle in the 1800’s
So this is not really that surprising, since he was born in the 1800’s (In 1832, right?) and I believe the movie was just randomly playing on the tv one day, and he instantly fell in love. It warmed something inside him to see, once again, how his life in the frontiere looked —since he probably lived in a Canadian small town that resembled the town in the movie
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Loves when you wear his shirts
Wanna make Logan extremely happy? Wear something of his. His shirts, sweat pants, jackets. And OMG… his cowboy hats!! This man is FERAL and he just LOVES when his scent mixes with yours. You could even wear his SOCKS, and I can bet you, you’ll immediately see hearts in his eyes
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ REALLY loves when you read to him, especially before bed
Okay… this gives beauty and the beast vibes. And I’m telling you, every time I see that movie (one of my favorite Disney movies, btw) I just imagine Logan just adoringly gazing at you like the Beast looked at Belle as she read. And Logan WILL beg you to read to him (in a casual way though, cause he still has that gruff reputation to maintain) more so before bed. Maybe his mom, or even Victor, read to him when he was sick? Who knows… but just know, it soothes him
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡ Most definitely hums and sings in the shower
He has a great singing voice, but no one knows that except you. And when you’re chilling in his room while he showers, just be prepared for him to belt out some 80’s rock songs or even some old country tunes. He also likes a lot of songs from the 50’s too, which would definitely give him that bad boy, biker/greaser vibe

Hello, I saw you linked some logan comics "for beginners" and wanted to ask if you, by any chance, could make something similar for Deadpool? Or maybe know of a blog that does similar stuff for Deadpool? Thank you and I hope you're having a nice day :)
Hi Anon! I hope you're having a nice day as well :)
I'm not super familiar with the Deadpool comics, so I had to consult my brother for this one. I consider him to be the nerd expert lmao. It's also been almost a decade since I picked up a marvel comic, yikes
I know that most of the DP comics are stand-alone, so you don't need to know a lot about him to enjoy the story. And a lot of his stuff is pretty fun & silly (at least from the few I read all those years ago, spideypool had a grip on me)
As I did with the Wolverine comics, the amazon and marvel website is linked to make it easier for you to find them :)

I hope I did alright! I can't really speak for the Deadpool comics, as I said I haven't really read them. So feel free to start wherever you like!

on tiktok, i have a folder for edits of pretty men. up until a few days ago it was only like 20 videos in the folder total, and like there wasn’t one guy who took up the whole folder it was just like, random edits of pretty men. completely miscellaneous people yk. but since deadpool and wolverine came out, the folder just hit 50 videos. it’s all wolverine (my boyfriend), and like i didn’t even have to go looking for them, they just showed up on my fyp. before this i would have to look for edits of logan like dig deep, they would get 10k likes max but now. i no longer have to look, they just come up on my fyp. this hasn’t happened ever. it’s fucking awesome.
anyways tldr: thank you ryan reynolds 🙏🙏🙏

I would like to offer this resource for therians, an extensive list of all of Sir David Attenborough’s nature documentaries that are available on soap2day, and a full list of what species* they each (notably, prominently) feature the natural behaviors of, separated by episode, and omitting species that were only shown dead, juvenile or being predated on. This took me a while (I have been working on it since Prehistoric Planet’s release) because I did in fact have to watch every single series in full in order to list all the species and the episodes are around 50 minutes long, but enjoy.
Long post ahead:
Most of these shows have closed captioning, which is why I’ve picked soap2day. Planet Earth is the only one that doesn’t. I did not include Dynasties and Dynasties II because each episode only features one species.
Thank you to Birch (@ambiguousmutt) for his help (he watched about half of the episodes) so I didn’t have to do it individually. Credit goes to him as well.
*Sometimes Attenborough doesn’t say the specific species and I was too busy trying to get through the episodes to identify it. In those cases I just put the most specific name I could.

Hellverine #3 Thoughts:
No.
Okay, but seriously though. I keep hoping one day that Marvel learns their lesson and actually treats Akihiro with respect, but today is NOT that day.
My last hope is that final issue comes in clutch (and I'm very likely gaslighting myself with this), and the writer pulls some bullshit out his ass like Logan having to fight Bagra-Ghul and then wins Aki's soul.
(I mean, the adamantium armor ~conveniently~ reactivated Logan's healing factor in the Wolverine Finale, why not?)
Then Akihiro is fine and stays far away from Logan for the time being.
Summary:
The issue basically opens with General Harms' backstory. He was a soldier, commander of a shadow unit -- stereotypical, vague American black ops plotline. He was a nasty dude who did nasty work in the name of U.S.-branded freedom.
On one mission, he tracked the families of enemy fighters to an ancient church, came in contact with a demon skull, got shot then infected with demon magic and now is a soldier of hell. But also the U.S. Government secondly.
We go back to the pages we saw in the preview, where Logan gets a bike from the family of one of the hellfire destroyers (now dead) and rides off.
We shift back to General Harms, where he is called to deal with an incident in the Pentangle-demon-hellfire-whatever-its-called lab.
The lone survivor of the unit that became the Hellfire Destroyers showed up, mostly by calling in a few favors. He eventually volunteers to become a Destroyer as he feels he's the only one who can reign them in. They've never tested a living subject before, so it could go any which way.
Our scene then turns back to Akihiro, where he's called to Washington DC, and ends up doing a stakeout on top of the Washington Monument, waiting for demon signals.
Then back to General Harms and Madame Secretary, and she's telling him to get it together or he's ending up forgotten in federal prison. The Hellfire Destroyers show up, attack, and manage to kill the Madame Secretary. General Harms is caught, but Hellverine/Akihiro shows up and kills one, leaving only one left.
General Harms is a douche-canoe and shoots Hellverine/Akihiro with a fancy holy water bullet.
Hellverine/Akihiro lets out a high-pitched, agonizing scream (that only every dog within a 50-mile radius and Logan can hear) as he escapes, which alerts Logan.
Logan shows up, and because Logan was the OG host, the Hellverine transfers over to him, leaving Akihiro an empty husk.
Akihiro also says all of two words:
Tumblr media
Thank you for the tragic "Dad," that was depressing.
And I'm sincerely hoping this is just a one-off thing, but he's referred to as "Daken" again:
Tumblr media
Goddammit.
My Thoughts:
Bravo for managing to find a way to disappoint me further. The bar was already on the dirt floor and they really handed me a shovel and a one-way VIP ticket to hell with a scenic view.
But no seriously, I don't care how they do it at this point. I don't even care if its "bad" writing.
Just have Logan fist-fight the demon in the back of a Denny's parking lot for Akihiro's soul and I'd be happy.
The demon Bagra-Ghul is supposed to the "Great Stitcher" or whatever. Do it again.
I just -- three issues and he's dead again. We've seen this so many times before (latest one less than a year ago). Its so much the same song and dance. I just want it resolved and over with.
My predictions for the finale:
-- Big showdown -- OG Hellverine/Logan vs. General Harms vs. Hellfire Destroyers -- Logan wins because its his book.
-- the "living" Destroyer manages to talk his comrade down and all is well somehow. Either the dead one returns to death. Or they become independent crime fighters fueled by hellfire rage. Either long-term or they destroy the pentangle from within then die. Maybe the living one also intentionally chooses to go to hell to join his buddies.
--General Harms is consumed by the demon fully and sent straight to hell, likely because the demon turns out to be the "real target" of Bagra-Ghul, just waiting for the right moment.
MY BIGGEST HOPE: there's some bullshit, where Logan wins the big showdown, and the demon Bagra-Ghul, even more twisted into a force for good and eating evil, leaves Logan and as thank you, restores Akihiro to life.
All loose threads are wrapped up all nice and tidy just like X-Force and Wolverine were! The End.
Like seriously, haven't we proven Akihiro is popular enough to sell a book? Both issues of Hellverine went to 2nd print. AND, before it came out and the big spoiler was revealed, I read a lot of comments dismissing it as too gimmicky.
Wolverine as a character is very oversaturated. The loyalists pre-order naturally, but its not common that his books go to 2nd print just because of the volume of variety. So clearly this book is something that piqued people's interest and I don't think Akihiro played a small part in that. That's just my personal opinion.
Also, also, we got X-Factor, Marauders, and then Alpha Flight for a bit. At the very least, Aki has a decent enough following. This is just insulting.
Anyway, I'm going to go lay down in the middle of the road or something. I'm so damn tired.

the urge to become a true x-men fan was violently eating me from the inside out, so i signed up for marvel unlimited('s free trial) and...got utterly lost. please help a guy out: what should i read? and in what order? because there's a hundred different series with dozens of issues (that may or may not be related to each other) and they're all incredibly tempting to click on!
my default instinct is to try and read everything from debut 'til now which may not be the best idea considering the 50+ years of mixed-quality content-
currently i'm having a bit too much fun reading through the first issues of "uncanny x-men" (1963) - because everything about it is absolutely hysterical to me, in the best/most endearing way - but i've seen a lot of people say that 1. this one gets boring fast, and it's best to just skip everything leading up to "giant-size x-men" (1975) & 2. most of these first issues are quite - if not completely - irrelevant down the line after being retconned/ignored entirely so i don't know...
i've never been into comics before - never even seen one in person, believe it or not! - but i know that this is a "canon is weird. read whatever you want and don't worry about it" type of deal. still, does anyone have any tips and/or recommendations? my favorite characters are wolverine, cyclops and mystique (...don't ask) if that helps 🐌 but honestly, they're all my beloveds!
thanks either way!

Hi! I have followed you for some time on different platforms, and I'm sorry if this comes of weird or something, but I just want to say I love how you draw Cassandra Cain! Honestly, I want to be her... like embody the vibes. 😅 Also, I love your take on Laura Kinney, too! I was wondering what inspired both? I don't usually do these asks. Sorry if this is too vague or something. 😑 Thanks in advance ✌️

my laura design isnt too final right now but i can confidently say its all on that wolverine (animal). but also in my head she looks like this

Video Game Idea: Marvel vs. Capcom 4: Heroes Return
Hey! Marvel vs. Capcom is popular again! And it's all thanks to the recent account of Marvel vs. Capcom: Fighting Collection, a compilation pack of all the arcade MvC games and Marvel arcade games Capcom produced that's being released later this year.
Tumblr media
This has gotten many people excited for three reasons...
This is the first time we've heard anything new about the Marvel vs. Capcom series in almost a decade!
This is the first time the games have been complied together
This possibly means that the Marvel vs. Capcom may actually be returning for a new installment in the near future
And this led many people to speculate and give ideas on what a Marvel vs. Capcom 4 would be like.
And since I like coming up with game ideas, I figured I'd hop on the train.
So sit back, relax, and join me while I take you on a train through my idea for the game....
Marvel vs. Capcom 4: Heroes Return!
(This is gonna be a short one, so bare with me)
Gameplay-wise, Heroes Return would essentially follow the same mechanics as Fate of Two Worlds, from the combat system to even bringing back being able to switch between three characters.
The new gameplay addition would the modified Team Combos.
Here, either two or three of your team can perform a Hyper Combo.
And it would be accompanied by actual names for the Combos, and a cool ass cinematic!
For the look of this game, it would bring back the cel-shaded look of Fate of Two Worlds, but obviously a little more polished with the advanced technology of today’s consoles.
Now we come to undoubtedly the most important part of the game: the roster.
Heroes Return would feature the biggest roster seen in the series by far, with a total of 100 characters (with there being 50 characters evenly for both brands).
And those 50 characters on both sides would be split evenly into two groups: Heroes and Villains.
Let’s start off with Capcom, since they deserve to go first after the bullshit they went through with the last game.
On the Heroes side, returning from the previous games we have….
.Ryu
.Chun Li
.Mega Man
.Viewtiful Joe
.Phoenix Wright
.Dante
.Amaterasu
.Strider Hiryu
.Arthur
.Morrigan
.X
.Monster Hunter
.Captain Commando
.Jin Saotome
.Frank West
As for the new Heroes, we have….
.Leon Kennedy
.Claire Redfield
.Luke
.Kimberly
.Victor von Gerdenheim
.Apollo Justice
.Lady
.Regina
.Masamune Date
.Sissel and Lynne
As for our Villains, the returning baddies would include….
.M. Bison
.Wesker
.Vergil
.Sigma
For the new Villains, we’ll be getting….
.Juri
.Vega
.Dr. Wily
.Manfred von Karma
.Grandmaster Meio
.Strider Hien
.Alastor
.Demitri Maximoff
.Lord Raptor
.Fatalis
.Scumocide
.Nemesis
.Alcina Dimitrescu
.Carlito Keyes
.Tyrone King
.Cyclops (Tyrannosaurus)
.Nobunaga Oda
.Hideyoshi Toyotomi
.Yami
.Astaroth
.Commander Sith
Now we come to the Marvel side of the roster.
On the Heroes side, our returning faces would consist of….
.Spider-Man
.Wolverine
.The Hulk
.Captain America
.Iron Man
.Thor
.Venom
.Cyclops
.Storm
.Psylocke
.Colossus
.Iceman
.Doctor Strange
.Iron Fist
.Deadpool
As for our new Heroes, we have….
.Nightcrawler
.Mr. Fantastic
.The Invisible Woman
.The Human Torch
.The Thing
.Ant-Man
.Wasp
.Daredevil
.Elektra
.Luke Cage
As for the Villains, the returning baddies include….
.Doctor Doom
.Magneto
.Sabretooth
.The Juggernaut
.Dormammu
.M.O.D.O.K.
.Ultron
In terms of new Villains, we have….
.The Green Goblin
.Doctor Octopus
.Carnage
.The Abomination
.Red Skull
.Baron Zemo
.The Mandarin
.Loki
.Enchantress
.Mystique
.Pyro
.Toad
.Baron Mordo
.Steel Serpent
.Diamondback
.Annihilus
.The Kingpin
.Bullseye
As for the stages, this game features total of 30: with 15 representing Marvel, while the other 15 represents Capcom.
On the Capcom side, we have….
.Genbu Temple
.Castle Wily
.Movie Land
.Courtroom
.The Demon World
.Kamiki Village
.Kazakh City
.The Ghost Town
.Zeltzereich Castle
.Metro City
.Space Fleet
.Fortune City
.Castle Dimitrescu
.Ibis Island
.Odawara Castle
As for the Marvel side, we have....
.The Daily Bugle
.The Weapon X Facility
.The Gamma Base
.HYDRA Island
.The Valley of Spirits
.Asgard
.The Danger Room
.The Sanctum Sanctorum
.Harlem
.The Baxter Building
.Asteroid M
.Shadowland
.The Negative Zone
.Jotunheim
.Latveria
And finally, this game would actually have a Story Mode! Being the first in the franchise to do so.
Tumblr media
The first of actual worth....
Anyway, the story is pretty simple. It's essentially like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, except with Capcom thrown into the mix.
Essentially, an alliance between various Capcom and Marvel villains have been formed, led by M. Bison and Doctor Doom, who plan on using their combined skills and abilities to conquer the world and further their respective goals.
Luckily, this manages to catch the attention of Dr. Light and Nick Fury, who decide to retaliate by forming their own alliance of heroes to fight against them.
Once again, really simple story, but what will really make it engaging are the world-building and characters iterations.
The world of Marvel vs. Capcom has always been interesting to think about, since it appears to be a world where the Marvel and Capcom characters co-exists with each other.
But we've never really been given an in-depth look on what the world is like or how it works.
From what it seems like, the two brands have always shared this world.
And if that's the case, it would be cool to see how the corners of Marvel and Capcom connect to each other.
Or maybe this could like Battleworld from the Secret Wars event, where their world is the result of the Capcom worlds and the Marvel Universe being merged into one huge world!
As for the characters iterations, I can see so many between the Marvel and Capcom characters.
Some of the ones I can think of the top of my head include....
-Cyclops and Ryu being friendly rivals akin to the latter and Ken. Well, before Ken....ya know, fell off.
-Spider-Man and Morrigan being total besties and often throwing quips together while in battle.
-M.O.D.O.K. and Dr. Wily getting into constant arguments and trying to prove whose the better genius.
-Toad constantly simping for Juri, who as you would expect, isn't having any of it.
-Iron Man being a big brother figure to Mega Man.
-Hulk being an absolute dog person around Amaterasu.
-Deadpool constantly hitting on Chun Li, complimenting her thick legs, only to get his ass kicked every time.
-Magneto and Vergil bonding over their "I'm better than you" personalities, usually talking trash about their fellow villains behind their backs.
-Venom being Claire's big buddy and always telling her to...
youtube
Well that's all I have for now!
Let me know what you guys think about idea of mine's.
But most of all, let me know what you all think about the roster, since I believe that's the most important part of any Marvel vs. Capcom.
When making it, I wanted to make sure that both sides were perfectly even.
And for the Marvel side of things, I wanted to include faces from all over their universe rather than just utilizing the ones who are the big names in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And addition to that, there will be no MCU SYNERGY at all in this game.
Because we all know how much it helped the last game....

Didn't Wanna Feel Older in 2024? TOO LATE!
So long, 2023! You have been a weird-@$$ year to say the least. Between by having to repair old thumb drives, purchase a new printer, finding out I'm susceptible to anxiety attacks, trying out dating for the first time, getting my Discord and Steam account hacked, starting a new Discord server since said account was never unhacked, opened myself up to commissions, managed to post art for Halloween, got Covid, summoned more Kaijus to play an elaborate game of poker, and had a merry enough Christmas. Here's hoping 2024 will prove better. At the moment I have no new goals, since I just want to relax after four months of constantly being active. There's a mile of books, movies, and TV shows I need to get caught up on! My opinions on all of them will be given in future Giraffe's Eye Views, but for now let's get to what you all came here for: yet another unnecessarily long list of things celebrating major milestones this year!
You all loved it when I did this last year. In fact it got more attention that anything else I posted, including the original art I put way more effort and time into. Nah, that didn't sting at all. Seeing my sketches get ignored is so much fun. Passive-aggressive joking aside, I do still love making these lists, so let's get started with some major stuff this year.
Tumblr media
Thanksgiving wasn't too long ago, so why not mention that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade turns 100 this year? I know, that's insane! Watching this festive event has become a seasonal staple in my house and is the only reason I've ever signed up for Peacock. Thank goodness in all those years it hasn't been smashed by a giant monster.
Tumblr media
Godzilla turns 70 freak'n years old this year! How crazy insane is that? Here's hoping his old age won't slow him down when he teams up with King Kong this April. Even if it does, Gojira will continue being cinema's coolest character!
Tumblr media
Contrasting with the King of the Monsters, Mary Poppins turns 60 years old this year. This movie, considered to be Walt's last masterpiece, has aged considerably well even after all this time.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, and Mickey Mouse enters the public domain this year. Still not entirely sure how that works, but whatever. What I do know is...

B-2 stealth bomber will fly over the Rose Parade again after absence last year

USAF's B-2 Spirit stealth bomber is making its big return to the annual Rose Tournament parade after a brief hiatus in the celebration.
The Rose Parade, held in Pasadena, California, to celebrate the New Year, will resume the bomber's overflying tradition during the 2024 parade. The aircraft had to miss last year's event after an aircraft caught fire in flight.

"We are excited to return to the 2024 Rose Bowl," Colonel Keith Butler, commander of the 509ª Bomber Wing at Whiteman Air Base, said in an official statement. "We have a long relationship with the city of Pasadena and we are honored to bring the B-2 back to demonstrate Team Whiteman's commitment to the American people. Our mission is to carry out nuclear operations and global attacks... anytime, anywhere, and this would not be possible without the support of the people we serve. This is our way of saying thank you."
The bomber lost the last Rose Parade because of an air operation it was carrying out in December 2022, when it suffered a malfunction in the middle of the flight and had to make an emergency landing. Filling the B-2 spot in the last parade were two B-1B Lancer bombers from Ellsworth Air Base, North Dakota.

Before that, the Rose Parade had a flyover of the B-2 stealth bomber every year since 2005.
The Rose Parade began in 1890, before the annual college football game Rose Bowl. The parade runs 8 and a half km and features several floats and martial bands.

The B-2 will kick off the long-awaited Rose Bowl playoff game between the University of Michigan Wolverines and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide - whose winner will advance to the national championship game on January 8. The game will air at 6 p.m. Brasilia time on New Year's Day on ESPN.
