I got on tumblr to see you liked one of my posts and I SCREAMED, your art is such a huge inspiration to me so imagine my surprise

TLDR; She has whimsy in her heart despite her love of violence! (Much more detailed lore/character ramble below ^_^)

I am so glad you asked, anon! They’re the same person. Both have always been Lunara. And that’s why I’ve always enjoyed her character so much out of my main 4 characters.

Having grown up in such a violent cult-like environment, it’s only natural that she’d still have SOME remaining mindset lingering in her. Only, it’s not the cult of Lolth that she reminisces or holds on to, it’s the violence. It’s what was fun. It was what she knew.

When she escaped the Underdark, it wasn’t because she wanted to live a life of peace... It was because she wanted to live a life for herself. Now that she lives on the surface, although she can’t be AS violent as she used to be, she’s discovered SO many things she had no clue about back at home.

The moon, the sun, the stars, the sky… All the trees and fresh air… These were the things she’d only heard of vaguely through stories. But now she’s seen it for herself. And she loves them. She thinks they’re weird… but she loves them. And that fills her heart with whimsy and light.

So yeah, she may be a little creepy… violent… and perhaps a little cannibalistic! ^_^; But she is happy to have found a new world. And she only survived this all because her journey to the surface lead her to Selûne (this was an accident. She had meant to find an Eilistraee temple and landed at the wrong moon goddess’ front steps LOL but that’s a story for another day) but she is happy nonetheless… And that’s how both exist. <33

Qhat are your thoughts on jasprose, and more importantly, jasprose and davepeta interactions? Your art is delightful btw 🙏🔥

i didn't think much of jasprose when i first read through, but i like her a lot more now that i actually kinda understand the point of homestuck lol. whenever i think about jasprose, this quote appears in a little thought bubble above my head:

she has the same deal as davepeta in this way, happier when they let go of their relevance to the story and their attachments to gender. her relationship with davepeta is a very cute continuation/parallel to rose and dave's relationship as well. a chill sibling kinship, but now that they've lost the stakes in their lives, most of the walls are down and they're actually able to express their emotions to one another (😭). i like that they're both cat ppl too, it really suits the mischievous silliness brought out in their personalities. the moral of davepeta & jasprose is to be happy and stupid and carefree after the loss of personal purpose. EPIC COLORFUL BFFS
