It’s not like he didn’t know the company suffered heavy losses on D-Day and the campaign that followed. Every company suffered heavy losses, and all the men not there sat about feeling fucking useless for not being in France. But Babe doesn’t quite understand the weight of it, and of his role in it, or lack of role in it, until Easy gets back to England and these men start using the word replacements.

There’s so many things wrong with it. With all of it.

They start off kinda mad about it, him and Hashey and Garcia and Miller - they’d joined up only a handful of weeks behind these guys, most of them - it’s not their fuckin’ fault the Army hadn’t thought they were required for D-Day. They’d have been there if they’d had a choice, and the way the company look at them like they’re useless kids is irritating.

And a bit o' Gene...

He prays a lot, since Normandy. More than he ever did before, back when he believed God might be listening. These days, Gene’s more of the mind that the man upstairs is probably far too busy for prayers. It doesn’t stop him doing it, though, in his head.

Gene prays in French. He struggles to think of God as speaking English as his first language, there’s something crude and straightforward about the idea that makes him uncertain. God is a cajun, if he’s there at all.

He mentions this in passing to Spina once, who laughs and tells him that Guarnere says God’s an Italian.

Humming, Shen Qingqiu looks below him. (You Want Me, Shen Qingqiu has a self indulgent session blowing a helpless Yue Qingyuan. Qijiu.)

Squirming, Liu Qingge lets out a frustrated grunt. (Crushed Cave, wherein Liu Qingge gets stuck in a hole like in a hentai. Bingliushen.)

Scowling, Liu Qingge rips at his collar. (Eat Him Right, which is nothing but Bingliushen porn, baby!)

What did we learn?

Goddamn do I love me some sentences that need a comma. We love combining present tense and present tense continuous. Almost every single sentences starts with that formula xDDDD

I will die before choosing to not write in present tense for fanfiction. I hate writing in past tense.

Last TV show: uhhhHHHH Sousen no Frieren is the last one I remember watching. OH. I watched the newest episode of Heaven Official's Blessing on Wednesday! ...unless anime doesn't count, then I watched Doctor Who last Saturday. (i don't... i don't watch a lot of stuff... I do, however, have 5 books on my desk, two hardcovers, waiting for me to finish reading them. And I'm reading through Devil Venerable (webnovel) and The World After the Fall (manhwa) online. I need to... finish Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint because I stopped after 300 chapters, but then I opened the document and there's over 6.5k pages and I closed it again. 🫠)

Sweet/spicy/savory: Savoury, closely followed by spicy. 😄 I would have put spicy first, but this year was the first year I regretted a spicy dish for the first time in my life. 😰 Apparently Buldak 3x Spicy makes me feel disoriented and nauseous, I don't know who I am anymore.

Skam[France] bc duh. I was like 16 and it changed my whole personality. If anyone said anything close to ‘Noora’ i probably responded to it. So did my wardrobe.

We’re struggling already but i can do it i swear, so, um. I’m gonna say eyewitness bc that was one of the first shows i watched that had a main non-hetero representation (obvi next to skam) AND was a crime show?? it was also such an incredibly good show considering the plot? And the suspension? Like it literally had me on the edge of my seat almost the whole time? Had no idea how it would end? Big ass recommendation and a shame it’s so niche.

Ummmm Stranger Things. If you didn’t watch this what r u doing /j. Such a good show and such good characters!! Shoutout steve harrington obviously. Robin <3 . Incredibly well done and one of the few rather scary shows i’ve watched but it’s so good i had to watch it all and i cannot WAIT for the last season.

The end of the f***ing world. It’s so good! It’s so fucking dry it’s just incredible and it made my cry too. The way it told its story really stuck w me and i‘ve rewatched it several times

Trinkets? One of the few shows w a lesbian lead…. I really love the characters i just wish they had done more w the story rip

Then we got,,,, I am not okay with this, which is just an incredibly entertaining story with characters I adore somehow, it‘s just a little different from the usual teenage shows, yet so absolutely normal it‘s almost terrible. But no it‘s good and i loved it bc it’s so real while also not at all but also yes. Relatable as fuck and also rewatched several times

Sex education? Banger. Real. Entertaining. Girl power. Made me cry. For once a good, almost hetero couple (maeve is unfortunately very very bisexual sorry to my boy otis but aimee literally exists).

Avatar the last airbender……. Few shows did it like atla let’s be honest. Characters are all 11/10. So so so good and also it’s a good 2D show like how rare are those.
