Oh jeez, I've been staring at this ask for a while now not really certain how to tackle it -- but first and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to send me this, it really does mean a lot to me! The extent of your feedback's a real treat, I think I'll be seeking this ask out on the regular for any needed pick-me-up. I love your writing so much, be it on Izuru, Shinji, or even Tokinada. Coming from you, to hear that I've managed to find balance in the multi-faceted character Gin is a massive compliment considering your own mastery of the art. Your array of characters are made up of numerous flaws and virtues (though perhaps Tokinada's more flaws than virtues, if any) and any time I read your writing it's never just one thing with them, you expand them in such refreshing yet cohesive with canon ways. I know it may seem like I'm just throwing a 'no u' curveball at you here, but I do mean it! You just happened to coherently express what is, in my eyes, a mutual feeling about our writing before I could, pfft.

That all said, I love that you've noticed that I never shy away from Gin's nasty side. It'll always be a part of him, and even Gin is self-aware enough to determine that he always had this side within him -- even back when he was but a boy with a handful of persimmons, offering one up to a collapsed girl. He could murder then, and in my headcanon he had (albeit accidentally/in a survival scenario) before meeting her. I think what draws me most to exploring these aspects of Gin is that it never justifies his actions in my eyes, it simply explains them. I hope I can continue shedding light on the darker parts of Gin while also giving his better side some love since, after all, canon events didn't really let us see what he could've been in a more anti-hero / foil position. Plus, let's be real, everybody secretly likes a redemption arc even if the redemption never actually happens -- the character is just simply striving to be better, give or take successes and failures. He can still be nasty in that verse, though he has consequences and can be set back on his path to being 'better' if he does in fact fall back into bad habits. That you've noticed this constant detail and work I've put into my Gin is a massive compliment and further excites me to continue!

So ultimately the honor is all mine! ♡ so practical. he started couponing when he was in his early twenties like an old man. checks the news and weather the night before, every night. never misses doctors appointments.

omfg... my brain is always on soft dad dilf bruce mode

- bruce loves to hang out w his kids any chance that he gets bc he knows time is priceless/his babies have grown up right before his eyes and he just wants to be aware/attentive to his kids

- does a family photoshoot/portrait every year! it’s pretty casual and he does a family one and makes sure to get one w each of his kids (and lets the kids/himself/alfred do memey ones) - and his picture with jason is one of his favorites bc jason is genuinely smiling and has his arm slung over bruce’s shoulder and bruce is v overwhelmed w emotion and just hugs jason afterwards and cried a bit. the whole family is now in a huge bear hug and bruce is crying laughing and jason is holding his tears in laughing and everyone else is trying to jump onto bruce & jason

- bruce and tim are so similar in so many ways and they both will sometimes at 4 am go to the batcave and play games on the batcomputer <3 they both have Gamer Chairs and eat chips and drink energy drinks until they knock out and tim will Absolutely be snuggled into bruce bc bruce is a human space heater and gives the best dad snuggles <3 tim also is one of the main batboys who loves to lecture bruce and bruce can’t help but listen to tim’s conviction and is ultimately put in timeout by his own son LMFAO but also bruce is a brown immigrant father so he will cut up fruits and such for his kids and does so for tim all the time... that’s how he shows especially that he loves tim and he gives it wordlessly

- i have a vision in my brain that one day dick is doing a performance at a circus either for fun or for a mission and his whole fam is in the audience and he’s smiling super wide and he takes that step to do the trapeze and all bruce can do and all everyone can do is watch in utter awe and at the end bruce is really crying hard bc it’s such a full circle moment... like it all started w having dick in his life and he hugs him and cries so hard and then everyone once again groups hug it out (damian punches bruce near the balls so he can hug dick) (valid) <3 in the carride home dick and bruce can be seen blasting music and singing like back in the old days

- bruce cass duke are like SO unbelievably close in my mind... they’re his babies and he can never say no to them so like everyone else they’ve been taught the art of asking for dumb shit bc bruce is incapable of seeing his kids be Sad... cass wants to buy a ballet studio? done! duke wants to buy a ferrari? lemme guess it’s bright yellow... done! cass and bruce like to knit together and sew and w duke bruce loves to go out! they go shopping or minigolfing or go on bike rides and i think in his heart he has some of the softest spots for them... they’ve seen how hard and cruel the world can be but they choose to do good and it makes him v proud

- bruce and jason... now i have so many feelings about these two... it reminds me of that quote “it’s rotten work” “not to me. not if it’s you” i think no matter what life or death throws at them you can’t get rid of that genuine love! bruce still has a picture of jason in his wallet (he does of all his kids but jason is the only one with 3 pictures) and when jason has nightmares bruce is there to hold him! jason teaches bruce how to bake and cook so they both like learning new recipes together :’) they bring back their reading time and they also like to ride their motorcycles together

- bruce & dami <3 i love the idea of damian warming up to the people he loves by giving them art & paintings! one day damian gives bruce a portrait of bruce & his parents that damian made himself and bruce is speechless but he’s about to cry so unbelievably hard and he hugs damian so fucking hard and just whispers i love you’s and thank you’s and damian knows how much it means to him :’) bruce puts it above the mantle! they both also fund many animal shelters together! bruce & dami can be also found at the arcade playing cheese viking and you can always find bruce somehow holding his son when they’re out :’)

Mike also has social anxiety, which comforts Nanaba because it makes her feel like she isn’t alone

Nanaba L O V E S to dress him up- like she uses him as her own practice doll and he doesn’t mind one bit

She does makeup on him to practice and see if she likes the look before doing it on herself

In exchange for Mike doing her hair since she can’t cut it worth shit, she gives him the best goddamn blowjobs known to man

She also adds extra seasoning when cooking for Mike

Nanaba agreed to have a dog farm with Mike if they can have at least two children

Although she isn’t good with emotions, children make her heart go soft like Mike does so she really wants more children in her life by having her own

One time nanaba accidentally shaved off half her eyebrow and she cried about it- so Mike shaved off half his eyebrow to make her feel better 🥺

Honestly that’s when nanaba knew she would marry him lmfao-

If they lived in a modern world, Nanaba would totally be a photographer and constantly take blurry asethetic photos of Mike doing something dumb like wearing fairy wings

She wants to have a private wedding with him, only the closest of friends invited

Would be the one to have to comfort Mike during a scary movie

Would be the nerdiest of the two-

And would probably force Mike to reenact Reylo scenes-

Loves candles so much, and it’s her biggest turn on to have in bed. Mike knows this and uses this to his advantage-

She’s very elegant/proper and Mike likes that about her. They both hold themselves to standards of people to be, so they relate to each other in that way

She also doesn’t like to show PDA besides holding hands when in town. Otherwise they keep their romance very secretive

100% have bickered about the wrong and right shampoos to use on their dogs, but usually nanaba just gives up because of how mikes nagging can be when it comes to animals

On this episode of Kuni presenting some dumb headcanons that have probably already been done but she didn’t know: 

Sorry for any grammar mistakes, typos, punctuation misusages, plot holes (??) out of character-ness, or any kinds of things that I did wrong but these are ramblings based on an idea I’ve had for a while so uhh.. 

I’ve always thought Optimus and Ratchet would go on dates to drive-thru theaters. 

Like, they sneak out when the night is uneventful with Decepticon activity and leave the others and the children to do whatever they want (which usually results in some kind of movie night/party or an impromptu rock concert started by Miko :DD) in the base. 

They just pull up in the distance if the parking lot is packed (kinda like how the Rescue Bots did sometimes?? Idk if Im the only one who remembers but they had that side exit from the firehouse where they could chill and see the movie screen from a distance :3 Something like that~) or if it’s empty, they pull into the actual parking lot. They roll to a stop with their wheels just a tad bit over the separation lines. After all, they are on a date....screw the parking space lines if they wanna be close... <3 

Sometimes Ratchet picks the movie, sometimes Optimus--tho Optimus likes to let Ratchet choose which movie they attend the screening of...mainly because he likes to see his lovely date happy and peaceful, and because he doesn’t really care which movie is playing as long as they’re together :))

Sometimes Optimus falls asleep!!! Between the steady dialogue of some cheesy romance movie and the near-silent, rhythmic purring of Ratchet’s vehicle engines, he is easily able to doze off. I mean, he’s the leader of the Autobots!! He gets tired all the time regardless :( 

Ratchet notices, and most of the time, chuckles to himself and lets the tired leader sleep. It’s partially amusing when he suddenly jolts awake and after the movie, tries to act like he was never asleep, completely embarrassed when Ratchet raises an eyebrow, giving him a knowing look. The old medic is simply happy to have his partner’s presence. 

He only wakes Optimus up if there’s an important moment he wants Prime to see. Like, for example, if the two lost lovers are going to be finally reunited, or if the single human was able to succeed in overthrowing an entire regime. He does so by tapping into their comm system and whispering that he just saw a cat walk across his hood. 

Which, by the way, that did happen once! Optimus was awake for it too!! <33 A stray, fluffy white cat was wandering through the lot and it jumped up on Optimus’s hood, falling asleep instantly to the soothing hum of the Prime’s engines, and the warmth he gave off. It took literally everything Optimus had in him not to make a single noise, but all he wanted to do was gush about the creature, transform, and hold it in his digits, cradling it softly. 

Of course, he gushed to Ratchet all the drive back to base, and Ratchet simply listened, pleased it had been such a perfect night :) 

And that brings me to my next point! They drive to and from. Always. It’s just a fun experience and they enjoy that much more than bridging over. On the drive, they talk. They note the scenery, they take a new route and enjoy the nature they pass. Sometimes, they take a detour and sit together on some rocks overlooking a river, pointing out the stars and discussing something philosophical. Or silly :)

Finally, they’ve never taken any of the children or bots on this date, and have never even hinted that it even happens. For all the others might know, Optimus and Ratchet are simple taking an “outing” together, or doing the night patrol together. Even while the kids are convinced it’s some kind of date, no one knows what exactly they do or where they go....and the Autobot leader and his medic are fine with it this way. 

If they can have just one thing to themselves, this would be it~

General Opinion over said character: i truly believe that the writers killed him off to pave the way for emma and hook. i think as long as neal was around, emma’s character wouldn’t of fully given herself to hook and the writers knew that so they took him out of the equation entirely. i think it would’ve been so cute for neal to be there w emma and support her for moving on and all that. i truly believe neal was emma’s true love (swanqueen feels aside lmao) but they didn’t need to kill him off to prove that he wasn’t. i could be totally wrong and the actor had other engagements but it’s just my opinion hahaha

The Untamed is unequivocably a love story, and here’s why

So my thing with The Untamed vs the original novel is, I think they made some subtle adjustments to the MCs’ characterizations that I think ended up working for The Untamed to still tell a plausible love story, and also working within censorship issues of not doing anything like having them kiss or whatever. (more on this, but I really don’t think in the long run it came at the detriment of them telling a romantic story)

Now, I came into MDZS through The Untamed primarily and the novel secondarily, so I’m curious to see what other ppl who read the novel (and even consumed other adaptations) think. But for me, I think the way The Untamed worked with the characters make sense in that I think CQL!Lan Wangji is a naturally private and nondemonstrative person, which was underscored by his upraising by Lan Qiren. Where novel!Lan Wagji gives me more of the vibe of his stoicism maybe comes more from his upbringing, more like the feeling of a dam holding back floodwaters, vs CQL!Lan Wangji who I see more as “still waters run deep.” This is why it makes sense for me, censorship aside, that Lan Wangji wouldn’t be prone to emotive outbursts while drunk the way he sort of was in the novel. (and tbh... I actually kind of appreciated that more about the drama, vs when I was reading the novel I was kind of like “....what the heck... is this...”) This is to say, to me it makes more sense that CQL!Lan Wangji’s way of expressing his love would be more along the lines of the “tsuki ga kirei” kind, vs only having a kiss of “I love you” to confirm his feelings. And that, since it’s a drama and we’re not REALLY in someone’s head for the PoV, it makes sense to me that we wouldn’t see things that are physically or overtly demonstrative between the two of them. Except for, like, the way Lan Zhan’s eyes always go to Wei Wuxian in almost every scene they’re together XD

And on Wei Wuxian’s side, ma boi is dumb as a bag of rocks about his own feelings, because self examination whomst, amirite? I think he goes with the flow and doesn’t really stop to think about it until it hits him like a ton of bricks. I think this goes for both CQL and the novel. Like, he’s the one who would be like “I like you” to LWJ all the time, but not realize WHY or how much lol (fellas, is it gay to toss flowers of admiration on your best bro??). The whole “wait did you just flirt with me?” “have been for years, thanks for noticing” thing XD

I also think CQL really went in on depicting Wei Wuxian as... pretty depressed following fighting his way out of the Burial Mounds. There’s moments in CQL where Xiao Zhan’s acting really seems to indicate this to me - like his reaction after seeing the lotus sprouts in the Burial Mounds, before he turned around to put a brave face for the remaining members of the Wen clan, he had this utterly heartbreaking moment of, like, grief and incredulity that I thought was incredibly poignant. CQL really underscored Wei Wuxian’s shitty, shitty circumstances, and just HOW much it seems like people Could Not Stop Giving Him Shit, and honestly, like I don’t blame him for breaking emotionally. He must have been suffering from some pretty bad emotional burn-out, or like wavering on the edge of burnout, for quite some time even preceding that. So I don’t want to say that CQL!Wei Wuxian is a casualty of his circumstance while he makes the best of it, since I think that takes some credit (or blame) away from his choices, but I think CQL really set it up to illustrate HOW much stuff was piling on him.

Whereas the vibe I get more from novel!Wei Wuxian seems more like that meme that’s like “the risk I took was calculated, but boy am I bad at math” lol. (Still is a dumb dumb tho and also, I have this headcanon that Wei Wuxian was subconsciously like “that was an option??” when he found out Mo Xuanyu was a cutsleeve and was subsequently like immediately faced with Lan Zhan again lol. I’ve seen a bunch of things say one difference between the drama and novel is that WWX didn’t show interest before he died, but I think there are moments there, people are just taking too much for granted the framing of ppl around him interpreting his actions as “I wanna be your bro” actions when to me it mirrors a lot of romantic tropes still too. the flower being an example XD)

The other thing is, The Untamed is a live action drama. Which means we can and should be looking beyond just the dialogue and explicit action, and into the visual and audio cues. And to not do so, and only obsess over whether or not they kiss, I think does a disservice to the drama and the nature of the medium. Because, like, lmfao slow lingering shots of the two gazing at each other while Wuji plays in the background... like Could Not Be More Obvious the romantic nature of their relationship lol, it’s a classic romantic trope/audience cue in audio-visual media. Like c’mon. It sure ain’t no brotherly romantic montage of the two of them like any and every time they reunite, I can tell ya that lmfao

I'm new to writing fanfic, and always work solo, so when I saw you have a whole team at your disposal, it blew my mind. I've got a list of questions about that: 1. How did you guys find each other and get started? 2. How does your work flow look for a story vs. a page/chapter of the comic? 3. How much do you love having an editor? 4. How does your work change from draft to final? 5. The quality of your prose is very consistent, is that just you as a writer, or is it your team keeping you good?

1. Seddm, EA, and Dino were all good friends of mine from the fandom from before or during Season 3 (I started watching the show between 2B and BFM). Toxic started watching the show sometime in late 2018 and messaged me on Tumblr for some sort of formatting help, or tips and tricks for getting posts more noticed in the fandom or something? I don’t remember and Tumblr DMs are awful to navigate, but we quickly bonded over what really matters most.

Lawchan had been a longtime follower of the show and fanfic author who inspired me to get into it back after 3A and we started talking and became friends at some point in the last year or so. BMC popped into my askbox when I opened it up to headcanon suggestions and ended up sending me over 100 in a span of 3 days that were all wonderful and creative so we started talking more. This really is a “team” in a loose sense, I just have a ton of awesome and creative and supportive friends willing to help out with this.

Oddly enough, this project started less than a day after (and was inspired by) Lake House Fever. I had already been thinking about getting back into fanfiction writing after S4 ended and we were pissed and salty and just needed good Starco thoughts so I hit him up and we started chatting and thought “huh wait a Star and Marco section of a family photo album would be a cool concept for some sort of series” and it evolved from there. We’d planned out a lot of the basics for the comic before the show ended and were waiting on the canon resolution before going any further, and Cleaved shook a lot up for what the postcanon status quo would be, so my whole aforementioned group all sat in a Discord channel on and off for literally 8+ hours the day after Cleaved and roundtable’d the entire backbone of the Earthni timeline for almost every major character (so if there’s people in the credits for TGG that haven’t shown up directly in any works yet, that’s where they contributed).

2.  Overall I’m the project lead and head writer so the majority of specific ideas, what should this page have or where is the story going, etc, come from me although anything we do gets signed off on by at LEAST me, Toxic, and Seddm first.  For comics, I usually plan the concept (Star goes here, these people are talking to each other, happy or sad, etc) and then let Toxic do his thing - he’s great already but is SUUUUUUUUPER amazingly wonderful at reading my mind and making visuals that represent my thoughts even better than the visuals in my head for them. He’ll do a rough page layout and sketch, we workshop that, then he does line-art, we look for any issues or revisions there, then he colors as I make the dialogue.  Usually takes a few days of back and forth.

Honestly my workflow for writing fics is absolute ass and you should not learn from us (ESPECIALLY me) if you’re getting into the game, hahahaha. Every day that I say I’m gonna write something, I usually end up dicking around at my computer until 1 AM and THEN decide to write a little bit and lose sleep over it. A lot of Glow was written between 2 and 6 AM on a Saturday night. I’m ridiculously nitpicky of my own work and half the time before I even finish typing a sentence I’m already erasing it because I decided it was dumb or did something wrong, which makes drafts take F O R E V E R, but the silver lining is that my first draft is already very polished by the time it’s done.

Overall, we play to our strengths - Seddm and I are general idea guys, “wouldn’t it be funny/cool if X” or “we should tell a story about Y” etc, and Toxic is especially wonderful at coming up with fantastic visual designs or gags or whatever else. So there’s plenty of times where I’ll give him the rough outline for a comic page and he’ll slip in some goofy background thing that makes it so much better, or I’ll give him a joke idea and it’ll work amazingly. I also like to call Seddm my “internal debate moderator”. When I’m struggling to figure out what to do for something, I’m often torn between a few ideas. Getting outside advice on it can obviously be really helpful, but there are times that it leaves me even more confused about what to do. But because my and Seddm’s understandings of the characters and senses of design and humor are so damn similar, he can basically serve as both a neutral voice and still part of my own thought process at the same time, which really helps me get my own personal ideas in order before running them by others.

3. Editors are great and wonderful and perfect and I love my friends to death for graciously helping week in and week out with this when I ping them with “hey guys shat this out, sun has been up for an hour so im gonna go fucking die now bye”. As stated earlier, perhaps my need for one isn’t AS high because I self-edit so compulsively as I go, but it’s soooooooo easy to get caught up in your own head and intentions and not spot obvious issues with your own writing that outside voices help a ton.

5. Given that edits don’t change much about the structure of my writing, I guess it’s me - thanks! But my team is great about keeping me in line with my own vision in editing and hitting any lines that just seem out of place. There was one particular cut line in Glow that I won’t post here that was easily a full standard deviation of naughty greater than the rest of the fic’s tone (unintentional, it was very late -_-) and that got caught and shot down real quick lmfao.
