I saw a theory on reddit about maybe Arajin having suffered child abuse in relation to his father, you know, I don't know if the anime goes this way but I'm a little incredulous about this theory because it's a sensitive topic of triggers. Sorry, send this question, I know this topic is a little sensitive, but I really like your analysis. I would appreciate it if you answered. If you can't answer, I'll understand too.

hmm i'm a bit incredulous myself, given how little time would be left in the series to properly deal with a new aspect of arajin's character and how flippantly his father is treated by ara's mother in the most recent episode. i don't think this idea is totally misguided, though. in fact, I think it's probably likely we get some justification for ara's father's absence in either episode eleven or twelve, since ten bothered to bring him up at all.

personally, I think a more likely backstory is that ara's father left at some point, and that impacts ara as a person by way of his warped desire for 'forever romance' (someone correct me if some outside source contradicts this reading). an abandonment would tie in neatly to arajin's own issues with running away from adversity. it would be a cool character moment for ara to finally analyze why he acts the way he does and actively try to change it in the finale. it could also be a potential bonding moment with senya. we're definitely going to be getting the ichiya senya breakup lore in episode eleven, so a moment of reciprocal vulnerability from ara could be a road to his relationship with senya growing stronger.

as an aside: now that i'm thinking about it, ara and his mother are quite similar. they're both comedically hopeless romantics. his mother seems to still be totally smitten with his father despite him seemingly being out of the picture (long work trip? left? dead???), which directly reflects arajin's dedication to mahoro.

of course whether arajin was abused or abandoned by his father or not; this is all in the moment speculation. if someone likes this theory and it helps them to better relate to/understand arajin's character, more power to them!

Isn’t it interesting that the Light of Truth only speaks up exactly ONCE during this entire episode and when it does, it’s talking to Shadow Milk Cookie?

here's the entire exchange screenshotted, and analysed for reference!

the exchange happens DIRECTLY after the whole thing where shadow milk and pure vanilla become "one and the same" — each with their own other-realms to control.

now, the light of truth comes in with a completely black background. usually when we see it, it's pure vanilla in the abyss of his soul, surrounded by blue glowing eyes and twisting and turning in the darkness. shadow milk's other-realm, really.

and its line: "is it truly YOUR will?" can imply very many things.

we all know the light of truth is shadow milk cookie. that's why when we saw this exchange, we stopped, paused — immediately knew this wasn't the REAL light. we've got an imposter on our hands, and it seems to know something about Shadow Milk's past that we don't.

after the exchange, he is SHOCKED. but not just shocked — is that ... uncertainty? shadow milk, "fount of knowledge," master of all his plans, always one step ahead, not knowing something.

or maybe he does know something. maybe he knows who this imposter light of truth is. he SEEMS to recognise them, thus is his reaction. if shadow milk was faced with a light of truth suddenly talking to him, one that is not him, and he didn't know who it was, don't you think his reaction would be something different? more confused? more in denial? he would suspect something like it being pure vanilla reaching out to him, trying to scare him — and I'm not saying this isn't pure vanilla, but don't you think he would have reacted more ... "oh, I know what you're doing, stop trying to get to me, you're not fooling anybody" and not like THIS??

he MUST know who exactly this is. yes, maybe this is pure vanilla. propaganda for this theory being that he now has control over his OWN other-realm, and thus would be able to make a connection like this. maybe this is shadow milk cookie himself, or at least the hidden part of him (which would explain the "is this YOUR will" part. maybe this is the part of him that wanted to find out everything there was to know, to quote the crk 4th website. but then something happened, and deceit took over, and that part of him was hidden away.)

it could be ANYONE. for all we know, this could be one of the witches. this could be elder faerie. this could be someone that knows something about shadow milk, or someone who was involved in his past. we don't know.

but one thing I'd like to point out: BEFORE this exchange, the two realms were split: one side clearly vanilla's and the other being shadow milk's. but when he wakes up ... it's all pure vanilla. AND:

maybe it's just me, but he seems GENUINELY shocked here. genuinely afraid. mad? confused. DESPERATE.

and, he cannot control his other-realm anymore. it's vanished. more propaganda for pure vanilla somehow being involved in that light of truth showing up. he threw shadow milk into an abyss, saw his opportunity, and took it.

and THAT is truly one of the best points in this entire episode of beast-yeast.

Yeah, that’s right, the hands. I think that it was pretty clear already that the painting, the project and proof of devotion, was not platonic, but this just hammers in the point even more. How interesting.

Summary: The curse of the Evol cats wears off. Majority of it, at least. Sylus finds himself in his 'human' form. However, your reaction is not what he expected. He thinks you're one of the most interesting persons he has ever met.

Warnings: None. Fluff. I really think Sylus is a green flag. Man is guarded, but when he opens up he's a softie. Tall, dark and handsome lol. He is whipped. It turned kinda angsty (sowwy). Slight - perhaps - spoiler/theory about his past if you squint.

The sun filters through your broken blinds. You scrunch your nose, eyelids fluttering until they fully open. Your [e/c] eyes meet your old wooden ceiling. A yawn leaves your lips as you stretch.

"Good morning."

"Morning!" You chirp reflexively, yawning once again.

Wait.

Slowly, you turn your head.

Sylus smirks, wondering if your half asleep brain has finally caught up on what is going on.

The smirk disappears from his face at your tame reaction. Every time he thinks he's got you figured out, you surprise him.

You should've been screaming, trying to get away from him, hurling objects in his direction.

Instead you're looking at him with more curiosity than shock.

"Red?"

He meets your eyes, and nods. "You don't seem surprised."

"I am!" You assure. "It's just... I don't know how to react. I mean... You looked so familiar. And when I looked into your eyes... I realized you were my little kitty."

"Your little kitty?"

A little flustered, you hurry to correct yourself. "I mean... the... the kitty..."

Rising his hand, he stops you. "Now, I do not like owing people. But you took me in and fed me. So thank you, kitten. Name your price."

Eh? A bit flabbergasted, you stare at him. "P... price?"

"Yes."

Honestly, you just want one thing. "Can I pet your ears?"

Pet his ears... is that what you want? Well, who is he to deny such request?

Rather than giving his verbal approval, Sylus leans down, so that you can reach the twitching ears atop his head.

He is a bit uneasy when your hand first makes contact with one of his ears, but he realizes that, just like yesterday, you're being careful and mindful. His ears are sensitive, but the way you're caressing them feels tolerable nice.

"You're a cute big cat." You smile, switching your attention to his other ear.

A tiny gasp leaves your lips as he leans into your touch, a lot more instinctively than consciously.

"If you tell anyone about this, there will be consequences."

You can't help but giggle, solemnly nodding. "Nobody will know."

He nodded, satisfied, and once you have had your fill, he moves away.

"Can I have your name?"

Normally, he wouldn't reveal his identity. However, because he is almost one hundred percent sure you don't know who he is, he complies.

"Sylus."

"How can I get you back home, Sylus?"

"I'd need to borrow your phone, kitten."

You nod, and without an ounce of hesitation, hand him your device, which had charged during the night.

Sylus uses the special code from the unknown number to contact the twins, which soon reply that they will be on their way shortly.

They don't press for any answers when he asks them to bring him a change of clothes.

Good. He is not in the mood to be answering anything.

At around an hour later, he has changed into his suit, and he walks out of your small bathroom, buttoning his dress shirt at the wrist.

"Thank you again for your... hospitality." He reiterates.

You nod, offering some water bottles to the masked individuals that came to pick up the 'boss', as they've called him.

"I hope to see you again, Sylus." You say softly, walking him to the door.

The taller male hesitates for one second, before looking down at you. "I look forward to it, kitten." He says.

This isn't going to be the last time you see him.

He's going to make sure of it.

Once he is back in his penthouse on N109 zone, Sylus can't help but feel bored.

His eyes darken as Mephisto updates him on your whereabouts. He clicks his tongue, expertly maneuvering a golden bullet with his fingers.

Money and power can give him anything he wants.

Except that the one thing he wants is priceless.

His Evol turns to dust the bullet in his hand as he decides his course of action.

Sylus has always found humans interesting, but you... are a complete enigma.

He wants to know every little detail. What makes you smile, what makes you sad. What ticks you, what excites you.

He wants things to go organically. The two of you have a bond, already, and he would never force you into anything, but he's quite sure that you're also thinking about him.

Fate... is cruel.

But it is wise.

You have found each other, and he firmly belives there is a reason why.

Maybe in this life, there is a hope for happiness for him.

hiii it's bracelet anon again with another thought that's been bouncing around in my head:) hopefully it's distinctive enough from my other request since it still revolves around giving scott stuff

i was thinking that scott is really susceptible to holding anything given to him while his attention is elsewhere, like tapping away on the tablet or talking on the phone, and reader picks up on this. so it turns into a little prank amongst the team that they're constantly handing scott things to see how long until he notices. after a while they start to notice that while he usually discards whatever he was given by other team members, he pockets what reader gives to him. so he ends up with a collection of random things reader has found on the side of the road; small bones, pretty pebbles, buttons, little toys that got flung out of car windows, coins, wildflowers, etc.

Like Penguins | Scott x Reader

A/N: Combined two requests.

Javi started it. He handed Scott his sunglasses to hold while he was tying his shoe. Scott took them without even looking up from the tablet he was working on.

It became a little game amongst the rest of the team, one centered around handing Scott random things to see what he’d take without question.

Today was one of those days where you were all playing the game. James handed Scott an empty soda can. It took Scott ten minutes to notice what he was holding and throw it out. Matt handed Scott a rock. It took Scott fifteen minutes to notice and discard it.

Then it was your turn. You’d found a sick coin on the side of the road earlier. You handed it to Scott and like the others, he didn’t even look at you as he took what you were offering.

It took five minutes for Scott to notice what he was holding. He held it up and to everyone’s shock, smiled, just a little bit. Then he tucked the coin into his pocket.

After that, the experiment changed. It turned into everyone urging you to keep handing Scott things. So you did. It was mostly pretty and cool rocks you’d found, but sometimes it was other things like coins or flowers.

He kept every single thing you gave him.

The team was loving throwing out theories about why. But the consensus was clear; Scott had a soft spot for you.

You almost never rode with Scott. So you were pretty excited when Javi told you you’d be riding with Scott today. Scott was stoically quiet as he drove, only seeming to pay attention to you when you started going through the center console.

You were surprised to find all the rocks and coins and flowers and other little knick knacks that you’d handed him over the last few weeks.

“Snooping is rude,” Scott’s stern voice broke through your surprise.

“You kept it all,” you said quietly.

Scott was embarrassed, refusing to look at you and keeping his eyes glued to the road. “Well, yeah,” he said, like it was obvious. “You gave them to me.”

“Scott…” you reached over the console to place your hand on his arm. Scott swore his brain short-circuited for a moment when you touched him. “Did you know penguins court each other by bringing each other pretty pebbles they find?”

Scott blinked. “I vaguely remember hearing something like that,” he replied.

“So…” you hummed, waiting for him to put it together.

“So… oh. Oh.” He looked at you with wide eyes. You couldn’t quite read the expression on his face.

“Well,” he began. “I’m not a penguin. So I’m just going to ask you out on a proper date.”

“Oh?” You grinned.

“(Name), would you like to have dinner with me?”

“Fuck yeah.”

Scott drove you into the town of El Reno that weekend to go to a nice restaurant. You wore a pretty, short sun dress that you never got a chance to wear. Scott actually got red in the face when he saw you. It was off the shoulders too, Scott swore his mouth watered.

Scott had made reservations and everything. You noticed at the table once you were seated that he was nervously flipping a coin through his fingers. A coin you had given him.

You reached across the table and placed your hand gently on top of his forearm. “Thank you so much for taking me out, Scott.”

Scott smiled, his fingers slowing. “You deserve it,” he replied simply. The hand that had been playing with the coin tucked it back into his pocket before covering your hand that was on his arm. His hand was so big and warm and completely engulfed your hand. You blushed. “You’re red,” Scott commented with a small smile.

The moment was interrupted by the waitress, who couldn’t stop giving Scott bedroom eyes. It was irritating you. “What can I get for you guys?”

You and Scott pulled apart and looked at your menus. Scott ordered first, the waitress obviously flirting as she complimented his choice and called him “hun.” When she turned to you she lost all cheerful niceness and flatly asked, “And you?”

You grit your teeth and ordered, not adding your usual “thank you.” You only relaxed when the waitress walked away. “Are you okay?” Scott asked, brow furrowed. “You got really tense.” You avoided his eyes. “‘M fine.”

Scott reached across the table and opened his hand. You took his hand, your hand being engulfed once more. He ran his thumb over the back of your hand. “What’s wrong?”

“The waitress is just flirting with you really obviously right in front of me. I’m trying not to let it effect my mood, I’m sorry,” you muttered.

Scott squeezed your hand and you looked up at him. His beautiful blue eyes were intently trained on you. “Don’t apologize, sweetheart. I didn’t even notice she was flirting, I’m sorry.”

“Just watch how she treats you compared to me,” you whispered as the waitress approached, bringing your drinks. “Here you go, honey,” she cooed at Scott, placing his beer in front of him. Then she placed your glass in front of you without even looking away from Scott. “Can I get you anything else?” She asked Scott, completely ignoring you.

Scott looked pointedly at you. “I don’t know, do you want anything else, baby?” He casually dropped the pet name. The waitress finally looked at you with barely concealed disdain. She gave you a fake smile while she waited for your answer. ��No,” you said, addressing Scott and not the waitress. “I’m good, honey, thank you.”

The waitress scowled and left.

You smiled. “Thank you.”

Scott looked surprised. “For what?”

“For putting a stop to it.”

Scott chuckled. “Yeah, someone’s not getting a good tip.”

The rest of your dinner went smoothly and that waitress didn’t come back. A different waiter delivered the check. “Let me see.” You reached across the table to try and grab the bill but Scott snatched it away from you. “I’m paying so there’s no need for that.”

You tried to argue but Scott wasn’t having any of it. “This is a date,” he assured you. “I took you out. I pay for dinner.”

“Thank you,” you said quietly.

Scott offered you his hand as you walked out of the restaurant. You took it, feeling nervous like a school girl around her crush.

The conversation on the ride home was casual and relaxed. You couldn’t help but notice how sexy Scott looked driving.

You pulled into the parking lot of the motel Storm Par was staying at for the night. Scott got out first and as you fumbled with your purse, he opened your car door for you. You weren’t used to this princess treatment.

Scott walked you to your room, and you both stopped outside your door. You looked up at Scott with a shy smile. Scott’s eyes didn’t meet yours though. They were trained a little bit lower. In turn, you dropped your gaze to his lips.

Scott put a hand on the side of your face and leaned down, practically bending over to press his lips to yours. The kiss was short and sweet and left you wanting way more.

“I hope you had fun,” Scott said, sounding unsure for the first time since you’d met him.

“I really did,” you assured him eagerly. “Thank you for taking me out.”

Scott just smiled. “Goodnight, (Name).”

“Goodnight, Scott.”

Have you played Jamils ceremonial robes vignette? What did you think about him getting seemingly flustered/shy when Kalim praised him?

I think it’s cute! I always love it when Jamil acts all embarrassed. If you want to know my thoughts on a deeper level, I think that it says a lot about Jamil. Obviously we can see that even though he’s desperate for praise, he still gets flustered when he gets it and tends to shy away from attention. This could be a deeply ingrained habit he has from always having to redirect any attention and praise towards Kalim, or it could be a sign that he doesn’t truly want praise and attention as much as we think.

Now, I believe it’s a mix of both. Most of us already understand why this would be an ingrained habit, so I want to instead explore the other possibility now!

Jamil doesn’t really want to be the best or be worshipped, we know that what he truly wants is to be free, to travel the world. What makes Jamil truly happy, what he truly wants, is that, traveling the world and being free. What he thinks he wants is attention and praise and recognition, because that’s what’s always been taken from him.

We know Jamil is very aware of how he’s perceived, and I’m sure he doesn’t like being perceived as weak or dumb or incapable, so letting Kalim always be better at him stings. But Jamil, who is only 17 and increasingly emotionally constipated (like half the twst characters), immediately swung the other way, overcorrecting. I think Jamil in some cases tends to see really black and white, and since he doesn’t like dumbing himself down for Kalim and Kalim getting all the praise that he doesn’t deserve, that must surely mean that what he wants is that exact praise, right?

I’m not saying he doesn’t want praise, we’ve seen how he shines in the VDC and how he loves being appreciated, but my theory is that he doesn’t want it as much as we’re lead to believe due to his overblot acting the way it did. Being praised like that brings attention to yourself, it puts the spotlights on you, and Jamil doesn’t like being out on the spot (he’s more of a planning ahead guy). I think when his overblot demanded praise and worship, it was more for the powertrip and not as much just for the praise, if you get what I mean? Jamil loves controlling things and being in control and tends to be pretty paranoid when he isn’t in control, and having his hypnotized servants praise him and worship him must feel like the ultimate sign of control. Plus, them saying all these nice things is a fun little ego boost I’d imagine.

Also add in the fact that Jamil himself tends to use flattery and stuff quite often when he wants something from other characters (he’s even been called out on it), so Jamil might sometimes be distrustful when people praise him (projecting much)

I think Jamil doesn’t just want praise for praise’s sake, I think Jamil wants also praise as a way to feel control. This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want praise for praise’s sake at all of course, he’s still got quite the ego he needs to feed, and he still likes praise and recognition quite a bit I think, just not as much as you’d think at first glance. Im sorry if I’m not explaining it well, but my thoughts are hard to put into words!

going off the stancy/bychance parallels, how do you think they would be introduced? Is the show going to ease us into it or are they already in an established relationship/situationship (and if so, how long would they have been a thing)?

I'm inclined to think that their break-up would be similar to how stancy happened: publicly humiliating will. would mike be the one to stand up for him like wha jonathan did? probably. But I don't think it will turn out well. Maybe it's connected to the leaks of mike with bruises (though he was seen beat up like robin was, and I'm not sure how she adds up in the picture yet) let me know what you think!

as for their introduction, here's what i think would flow nicely, though bare with me since this is highly based off of my own intuition + current understanding of the show / bychance!

BYCHANCE PRELUDE [ evidence / in-show precedent ]

[ theory & timeline ] @ MIN 14 - WILL RECEIVES A NOTE IN HIS LOCKER We don't see what it is. Mike is there and notices. He asks "what's that?" And Will says "Uhm, it's nothing. Just [excuse/explanation]." then throws it in the nearest bin and walks away, somewhat nervously/hoping Mike doesn't ask more.

Mike isn't convinced, and he searches the trash to find the note. We see what it is through him:

Mike & the GA:

"... uhm, what is pookie hiding????"

So to answer your first question: Is the show going to ease us into it or are they already in an established relationship/situationship? My 8ball says that the answer is both. So what happens next?

THEORY & TIMELINE.

@ MIN 16-20 - BYCHANCE ARRIVE AT THE PLACE/TIME

They have some banter at first, and Chance might even come off a bit menacing ... but then, next scene we see them kissing a la Stancy/Boyce/Mileven. The internet explodes, the GA collapses. Milevens erupt in cheers { they think Bychance replaces Byler }, a portion of bylers are confused af/spiraling/in denial and another portion of them also erupt in cheers bc this 100000% confirms Byler endgame as early as EP1 thank the lord, so we can sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of the show. If Mike planned to follow them, then The World sabotaged him--think S4 when he asked Will to be a team and the world literally went to shit right after. after the kiss and some awkward "this pairing is not endgame" interaction, they set a place + time for their next meeting.

@ MIN 30-END OF EPISODE 1 - BYCHANCE FIRST MEETING FLASHBACK.

As much as I'd love to say they met "by chance", the truth is I think Chance has been paying attention to Will since Will came back to Hawkins. It was established in S1 that Will's queerness is quite known among the bullies. So my stance is, Chance approaches Will first, and we'll see this in the flashback.

I think Bychance will have 3 important meetings. first meeting, followed by a second one, and then a third one where Mike finally sees them, paralleling Jonathan seeing Stancy at Steve's house in S1 when he was looking for Will.

Where and what time? I don't know but ...

Something about Will being the one to bring up a motel when they're looking for a place with enough salt--something about Barb being in a pool when she was taken, Billy telling Karen that they could meet at a Motel with a nice pool ... something about Jancy in a motel in S2, something about Joyce and Murray in a motel in S4, where Murray talks about a "one year old's birthday party" ( aka Will's forgotten birthday, aka 22 which I've theorized before is a number tethering Chance and Will through S4 ... ) something something loss of innocence/virginity metaphors ... im still working out this chaotic subtext but a motel would be my guess for when the Bychance arc culminates. I do admit I'm not certain of this yet? I'm keeping an open mind as I piece together the puzzle but Bychance is definitely my tether for organization.

so this is definitely not a full fleshed out theory yet since i'm still fleshing it out, but i'd LOVE to hear your ( and anyone else's ) thoughts on this! do you think we'll see bychance sneaking out to meet at a hotel, with Mike following Will bc he's noticed he's been "acting weird"?

How about both: stupid and dying to stir the pot?

I feel, however, I would have to explain myself, just to make sure my point will be properly understood. You see, lack of information/knowledge or social clumsiness has never been my own definition of stupidity. To me, intelligence will always and above anything else be equated with being flexible enough as to take into account the opposite POV, while assuming full responsibility for your own opinions, in all good faith. Thus, stupidity would be the contrary of what I just defined.

The person mentioned in that context never seems to consider the opposite POV, which she readily dismisses as 'confirmation bias' : this, to me, is a sure sign of arrogant intellectual laziness and oh, how conveniently so, when things do not suit your own agenda! She also never seems to take full responsibility for her own opinions. Instead, she would always state she was misquoted, took out of context or simply misunderstood - that is insulting her readers and making me chuckle, every single time. I mean, d'oh, how many times could that statistically happen in an organic, honest fashion? You either fuck with your audience's good faith or you really do have a miscommunication problem, right? You simply cannot drop nuclear bombs in a row and then hide behind a hypocritical 'oops, didn't mean it that way' every single time people call you out or question your motivation. It's obvious they know what they are doing/writing and they do it while insinuating all sorts of things, primarily for attention and weighing in the debate, at all costs. If that is not 'stirring the pot', I don't know what is, Anon.

Being FIRST and ALWAYS RIGHT seems to be the mandatory complement to constantly stirring the pot. That probably explains why she was also repeatedly used in the past to push a certain agenda, until her own unchecked Taliban zeal cooled down that strategy, at least for a (good) while. Add to this that propension to constantly bring attention to herself and create drama every single time her integrity is being questioned (enroll other bloggers, invent Anons, you name it) - insecure, anyone?

In a nutshell, stupid is as stupid does: equating the entire shipper community with just one of the trusted or believed theories, thus conveniently forgetting 'our' side of the fence is far more tolerant and open-minded than 'theirs'. Labelling bloggers you do perceive as a potential threat as 'nutcases', just because you probably resent their traffic figures and perceived 'success' (WTF?). Never taking responsibility for your own shortcomings and simply say 'hey, I was wrong, things like this happen and this is not a beauty pageant', which seriously is the least thing one could do if wanting to show they really respect their audience.

Enough said, Anon. I have mercifully just scratched the surface. Jimin tries not to get jealous, he really does. He loves and trusts you completely and has absolute faith in your commitment to each other, in theory...

It’s just everyone else that he doesn’t trust.

He knows he can be a bit overprotective at times, and he tries to keep that in check, so when he first notices someone looking at you for too long, he tries to resist his instincts and play it cool, though the tension in his posture and movements is clear, eyes constantly flickering back to them and then to you, to see if you’re alright.

If they persist or make any type of advance though(or if he just can’t help himself anymore), he’s immediately at your side, winding his arms smugly around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder or pressing a kiss to your cheek, eyes narrowed at whoever it was that currently held your attention, the implications of his actions clear, “Mine.”

On the flipside, if you’re the one giving attention to someone else, he’ll get dark and sullen, pouting off to the side. So long as you notice quickly and come back to him before he gets too bitter, he’s easy enough to pull out of those moods, a few kisses and sweet words bringing the smile back to his face.

He tends to get quite clingy, seeking comfort and reassurance through physical contact, his hands noticeably never leaving your body for more than a moment the rest of the night, or even suggesting you leave early so you can spend some time alone together.

It’s only once it’s just you and him that he fully relaxes, the quiet somehow reminding him that he’s the only one who gets to truly see you, that he’s the only one you want.

The rest of the night is spent reminding you both how much you love each other, and how you can’t imagine life without the other.

I am NOT the you are to drew like Henry is to me anon I am a completely different person however. I'd like to share a little something about Henry.

I had a friend on discord once and we talked about Henry quite a lot, and we made what is what I think my FAVOURITE Henry theory of all time.

Okay, think about it: what's the ONE tmf character that has a design trait that literally HIDES or CHANGES their real appearance to the audience? That's right; HENRY. Henry's real EYES are never seen (except for the glow up video which I'm really not counting because that's like... a silly little thing BUT ANYWAY) in the show. And we all know eyes are the window to the soul. What I'm getting at here is that I don't think that Henry is genuine, not in a malicious way, but in some sort of... like, joke... way?? Gosh I can't explain it but here look.

Think about it. Why the hell would Henry spit gum into Zoeys hair? ZOEY, aka Drew's girlfriend, aka THAT ZOEY? For the comedic value. Because its funny.

Why does he like lettuce juice? Really think about it. Really. What. Does lettuce juice. Taste like. Just fucking water. Maybe terrible water but you can't juice a fucking lettuce. This is a gag, yes, but the only closer similar gag is maybe Zander drinking grape juice I guess... but that's not similar. Grapes can be juiced. Where would you even GET a lettuce juice box? That's right, NOWHERE. Henry must've crafted those boxes, or at least stuck a sticker onto a green juice box, for a bit. Wouldn't that be insane ass effort to put into a bit? Hell, the juice is green. If you juice a lettuce it wouldn't be green. It's not a lettuce smoothie, it's a "lettuce juice". Meaning that Henry either getting green juice or dying water himself isn't out of the picture.

Why is he always goofing around? Sure, you can say thats just his silly goofy aura, but just THINK. He is DESIGNED with silly goofy in mind. His literal physical appearance is silly. HE LITERALLY HAS MEME EYES. HE'S THE ONLY ONE WITH MEME. EYES.

I know this is just an archetype. I know he's just a character.

But just. Think.

He isnt just "a comedic relief character", he IS the comedic relief character. In their show. That's the role he put on himself. The role he's putting effort to play no matter the consequence.

But why would that be? I mean, look at Liam! He's silly and goofy too, why am I doing this whole ass essay?

We all know Drewy Bear loves to adopt absolute fucking losers and up their status, as shown with Jake. And, come on, think about it, Henry is like THE most bulliable character in the show, no offense. So, what I'm proposing,

Is that Henry must've gotten bullied before too. It would make total sense! He's a weeb, excitable, probably says "nani!?" Unironically, etc. And you know, sometimes when you're picked on... you really start to internalise that shit. Sometimes the attention you get from people laughing at you feels good. Terrible, hurtful, and devastating... but good. Because they find you funny.

And you then put ALL your effort into being funny. That's the only thing you're gonna be, after all, you're hillarious. Oh, you can only eat X food? What are you, a rabbit? Hahaha, turn that into a funny bit! Etc, etc etc.

We don't know how long this went on or how long Henry was a Dromie, but one things for sure (in my theory): all of this slowly made him less and less of a person, and more and more of just a joke.

And no, the lettuce thing isn't a reach. I've had this genuinely happen to me personally; people kept on making fun of me because I had to soften my food because of my chronic fatigue, so i turned it into a bit. I'm not ruling this out for Henry.

I don’t think she was 100% confirmed to be filming last night or not in all honesty- I blocked her transphobic ass a while ago so the only information i get about her whereabouts on set are from what i’m told by other people, but i think the big theory going around right now is that she always posts after others post about being on set, and people think she may be piggybacking trying to make it look like she’s there when she actually isn’t… of course this is just a theory and like i said i blocked her. a while ago so i don’t see her posts to confirm nor deny the plausibility of this, but knowing her attention-seeking attitude i wouldn’t put it past her.

And i would not fear too much anon, actors are often contracted for a specific number of episodes, so her being there does not mean her days aren’t numbered. Obviously we don’t know anything for sure, but I have my own theories- we know the time that she posted herself crying on her story and then started talking about auditioning again was around the time the show was picked up for season 8, so obviously contracts would begin being discussed at that time. My personal opinion is that she was told then that she would not be returning for season 8, and that is what sparked this attempt to stay relevant in the fandom (following cast members she never followed before, constantly posting about being on set and how “thankful” she is to have a job, interacting with people bashing the show for being “too gay,” etc.) to me it all reads as someone who is desperately trying to cling to the quickly unraveling thread that is her place on that show and it’s only a matter of time before she’s gone.

i mean ryan himself called her a ‘filler’ relationship for eddie. even the plotlines she’s been involved in this season she’s barely been there. eddie was quite literally on the verge of breaking up with her in 7x5 before his advice to buck made him decide to simply start over their relationship. My theory now is that “ghost of a second chance” has a double meaning of us seeing the ghost of a past relationship that eddie is still grappling with (maybe shannon, maybe someone else…. an old “army buddy” perhaps who he had never really understood his feelings for?) while also pertaining to the “second chance” he gave their relationship being dead. I mean the man brought his grandmother who lives in texas to his coworker’s wedding, and he barely trusts her with his kid (christopher is always being watched by someone else, he says things like “she’s already babysat this week” as if watching your significant other’s children is a burden to her) and like i said he was on the verge of ending things in 7x5…. i think it’s safe to say that their relationship is bones, and there’s no other logical direction for them to take it in, considering the fact that marisol is barely a character anyway, the fans don’t like e*y (for good reason), and they know that if they try to keep her on they will receive backlash (which we know tim sees after the karaoke debacle)

i am fully preaching to the choir here, because i have massive anxiety and the constant stress of speculating about where eddie’s (and buck’s) story goes is something that always runs my nerves up a wall… for reasons i won’t get into, eddie is a character i relate to deeply and i want to see his storyline handled with care and attention, so while the idea of the show sticking him with something as lackluster as marisol (played by a problematic untalented actress) obviously makes me stress out too, i try my best to remind myself just how little sense narratively it would make sense to keep eddie with marisol, since she is a wash rinse repeat of every romantic interest he’s had before- something they keep bringing up in eddie’s story as a bad thing.

so stay strong, dear anon… the light at the end if the tunnel has not gone out— there are things happening that none of us know, and it will do us no good to focus on the possible negative outcome when the positive outcome seems so much more likely in this situation.

I said this yesterday (under the last chapter update) but it always touches me so deeply when people express that they relate to my work- or, I guess, the very specific compliment of "I've never seen this thing I've felt be put into words before" it means, to me, that I'm doing a REALLY good job. I'm not only touching on something that's personal to myself, putting that thing into words, turning those words into feelings, but I'm also reaching out to the reader, hoping that this will speak to them in some magical, metaphysical way, and it does!! it does. which is crazy to me. like wow okay I feel so Real rn

I feel like I have this conversation a lot- "why would anyone want to imagine themselves in yuu's place when they could be someone else? it's fantasy, it's an escape from reality. why wouldn't you make yourself beautiful and likable and popular and talented and smart, if you had the chance?"

and I understand this perspective, I really do, but it's so. it's so nothing to me. sure, I want to be all those things. who doesn't? but that's not me. and after reading my 10393th twst chars x reader who is Perfect, I get a little tired of it. it's like, I don't want to imagine myself like that. I don't want to live in this fugue of perfection where everyone loves me. because I'm not that person- I'm not particularly attractive, I'm not very talented, I'm not popping out clever one-liners every other sentence- I'm just. here. and I wanted to write something that spoke to the people who also feel like they're just. here. not particularly good at anything, not gorgeous, not charming, not endearing nor sociable. because life does feel that way- like everyone is expecting something out of you, but you have nothing but yourself

continuation to the last ask: to make matters worse nrc is full of jerks that do not see you as someone worthy of attention as a gust of wind. knowing you are not welcomed, knowing youre not them and will never be them, yet being desperate for the aknowledgement and love and care. maybe its a desire to be as special as the one before you, the desire to feel at place, to feel accepted. they will never see you as not yuu, but you! because they always expect you to be.. yuu. does it make sense?????? idk if im getting it right.... maybe reader themselves doesnt want to interact with people around them?? but i feel like its not just being antisocial or whatever, its moreso about knowing youre not welcome. knowing youre not them and already being denied the privilege of being seen and perceived and not repulsed at. then its better to be a ghost, a nothingness, a gust of wind, a weird mutter in the crowd. even if miserable, because that means youre the person that you are even if you dont exactly understand who, but at least thats you, being seen by your own self. should be enough for now. because at least you dont expect yourself to be them. i love how you captured the feeling of losing ones self as again!!! personal experience, not understanding your identity, the "self" falling out of grasp.... but at the same time not knowing how to shape the self and become the person people need you to be. also reader being apprehensive of silvers kindness and well any kindness because silver supposedly pities them?? and its kinda demeaning?? because like. maybe he himself feels guilty for seeing yuu in you thus his treament of care, trying to be genuine or smth. in the first chapter sebek was like its not them, its a different one(which sounds dehumanizing as fuuuuck, "a different one". its not THEM, a person, its a different ONE, a creature, a ghost). expectation of being yuu. but instead being you. the unnoticed and mediocre, the simplest person, the loner, the ghost. the idea that it mustve been for ruggie to offer help. because youre a ghost! and someone mustve felt pretty bad to notice you, to offer a little bit of attention, because THEY felt guilty, not because they felt sympathy for you. i think thats why you cant trust silvers kindness. also in the first chapter ace being such a fucking jerk! a punch in the gut fr. like this guy deserves a punch. fr. i really cant wait for more im so curious on whats gonna happen next..... ughhh!!!!!! delciious delicious delicious..... yum yum yum...... idk maybe im ovethinking this or actually not thinking enough and misinterpreting things(which im sorry for if thats the case!!!!t.t)..... but i needed to share this.... AGAIN IT GIVES ME LOTS OF EMOTIONS..... i just really love it........UGH.

it does torture me to write these characters- whom I otherwise love- being kind of shitty. and not in the "haha we're evil!!" way they were to yuu, but distant and ignorant and somewhat cruel in their kindness. and selfish, although they're trying not to be- which is the crux of this all. NONE OF THEM are intentionally being mean to the reader, except for maybe ace. all of them are genuinely trying to be kind and thoughtful and helpful, but their relationships with the reader are inherently tainted in a way that can't be undone with simple kindness. their closeness to yuu means that they will always treat the reader as "the other" no matter how pure their intentions are

this is why the characters that the reader trusts- rollo, crowley, and now fellow- are all secondary characters who were not close with the original yuu, so they see the reader as They Are, not who they want them to be (and, bear in mind, the yuu here was CANON!yuu, meaning that they were no older than 16. of course, reader doesn't know that. I've also... vaguely implied that reader is a bit older. sorry couldn't help myself, I think it makes more sense for the narrative and the relationships with the secondary characters. "gee reader how come pomdove lets you have THREE boyfriends?" we all say in unison) and this train of thought has influenced who I chose as a third-year secondary character to come in, in a few chapters, only for a brief cameo, but since he never had a very well developed relationship with yuu either... you get me

so yea. all of their interactions with the main cast are loaded with baggage, which is no way to live

also again i cant stop appreciating the way you wrote the episode. like you delivered so well. im repeating myseld but im so grateful for that because its rare to see represantions of that. its usually either inaccurate kinda disrespectful and just... bad. or nonexistent at all, not aknowledged because only "coooool" and confident and special! people can be a person yknow what i mean. like it super rare to find something as personal as this to someone with a mental illness of some sort. its just. so good. ughhhh. love this. loveeee thiiissss <33333
